is there anyone out there who thinks the “Luxord is KHUX Player” theory could actually be pretty fun in canon, or is it just me? Like hear me out on this:
It gives Player a greater sense of agency in the story. Most of the time throughout KHUX, they were a passive protagonist, rarely doing anything to advance the plot. When they did, it was usually only for the benefit of other characters. Now, Player (in the form of Luxord) is advancing their plot and the plot of others, especially via the wild card he gives Sora at the end of KH3. He plays a key role in his own fate, and it is no longer decided at the whims of those around him.
While I’ll concede that it erases some of the charm of the Player being a being of our own creation, them transforming into Luxord does NOT negate this. In fact, it opens up avenues for Luxord to be explored as a much deeper character from several angles, especially as relevant from the character. For example, he 100% inherited their stubbornness—he openly shows his upset about the situation he’s in to Xehanort when the latter is telling him and the others about their associations with the past. Essentially, Luxord becomes an entirely new, unique character in the context of a resurrective association with Player, and can be imagined as such. Hell, I’ve already started cooking up an AU on this concept.
Considering that Player is heavily associated with Lauriam and Elrena, it explains Luxord’s association with Marluxia and Larxene. The latter two may not know it, but they were friends once, and Luxord cares enough about them to fight by their side.
Both the Player and Luxord use trinkets as they fight, all through their lifetimes—the KHUX protagonist utilizes medals, the Missing Link protagonist utilizes pieces, and Luxord utilizes… whatever gambling item is closest to him at the time. Considering that the other members of Organization XIII tend to get powers that are primarily associated with them. Marluxia (Lauriam) got flowers and nature, which his sister was obsessed with. Larxene (Elrena) got lightning, which matches up with her sharp, hostile nature. As the “Gambler of Fate”, his association with the small, otherworldly trinkets that have shaped his growth as a Keyblade Wielder and as a person does not seem coincidental.
It would be absolutely hilarious if Xehanort unwittingly made his own parental figure into himself
Please remember that this is just my opinion! And thank you for reading it. :)

I know Shidou being irrelevant in the manga right now is a terrible thing and we should all be sad but I have this crack-ish theory that more or less this is for the sake of something Kaneshiro has planned for him later. Because Shidou's entire philosophy is how each human is doing something to leave a mark on this world and to be remembered by everyone. Having less screentime = being slowly forgotten by the audience. Surely that's not something Shidou wants, is it? Is this match where we slowly see him lose his freedom later? Adding onto the Michael Kaiser parallels, are we going to see him become zero like he did? And if the PxG arc is truly where we can finally see Shidou's backstory, is he going to be just like Michael, break himself down and be reborn again?
TLDR; It's not over Shidou fanatics here is how you guys can still win

There's a theory that Boruto is hiding out at Orochimaru's place, and in my head I just know that Karin,Juugo, Suigetsu probably saw him, right? And I just need something that gives their reaction that he looks like Sasuke (and Madara?) How they interacted, something like that.
I SAW the backdrop and I'm kinda hoping it's Orochimaru's tbh. The only thing picking at me is it looks like an older hideout (Orochimaru's new hideouts all look quite modern) or it's just the way Ikemoto chose to draw it.
Suigetsu would definitely poke fun at him for dressing like Sasuke (Uchiha adoptee amirite) but I dont know where the Madara comparison is coming from?
Oh, and Suigetsu would also complain Boruto's so serious LOL. Another thing trained into him by Sasuke...

hii, i've been rereading both ttsbc and tt and i'm absolutely in love with both, they're amazing, you're easily one of my favorite authors :]
anyway, this might be a bit of a reach but while rereading Everything and More, in chapter 5 the way the director of the biotech institute talks in Zed's memories was oddly familiar (repeating parts exactly three times, the thing with hypotheticals, etc), so here's my current theory: we never actually see the (former) director of the labs die in Bleeding Sweetheart, only that she's injured and fell down into the depths. so imo she's alive, went to the surface, and became the director of the biotech institute (which is essentially what she's been doing before anyway) after her "death". now the last thing she wants is the undercity and the rifts to be researched as she wants them to stay locked down there and for that she needs the current image of hybrids and mutants, hell maybe she's still taking some to be experimented on, you never know. and so we also have a motivation for why the institute is so vehemently against zed's ideas when they seem to know he's right.
i'm probably overthinking this but it was fun to theorise at least lmao

I'm glad you're having fun theorizing! I'm so honored to hear I’m one of your favorite authors! I absolutely love to see people trying to piece together what's going on in my AUs so thank you so much for sending this my way, I had so much fun reading it! 😁

I was going to do Sae but somehow ended up doing Kiyora. Personally, I like these colors better than the anime's colors. They remind me of a peacock's colors, his eyes the vibrant blue and his hair the green/teal? some have.

my thoughts on itoshi rin and how his relationship with his brother has affected the way he has played football throughout the manga
to me it feels quite obvious that rin still cares about sae quite a bit. quite literally almost all of rin’s football career has been built around his brother, from the beginning of it to the u-20 match.
in the beginning, it started with rin thinking that sae looked cool and wanting to watch with his big brother play. then people realized he was actually pretty good at football himself, so he decided to start playing with sae because, “why wouldn’t playing football with your brother be fun?” this is when football was fun, it was mostly just hanging out with his big brother and eating ice cream together. we also don’t really know much about this time in rin’s life other than a few manga panels, so i don’t have much to say other than this is when got into football and he enjoyed it. i do feel like at first he mostly enjoyed it because he was playing with sae.
then, sae goes to spain, and this is when we first start to see changes in rin’s football. it’s in this stage that rin’s football both becomes about getting better and is when he first starts to enjoy it without sae. it becomes about getting good enough so that he can still walk with sae on the path to becoming the two best strikers in the world. it’s still enjoyable, but it’s mostly fun because he knows that sae is going to come back and they’re going to be great together. sae’s going to come back and they’ll both have gotten better and football will be even more enjoyable.
then sae actually comes back, and it’s apparent that all is not well. their confrontation happens and the football that rin had built up in the time that sae was away crumbled around him. football was no longer about playing with his brother, that had been made abundantly clear to him by sae himself. i imagine that it takes a bit of time for rin to decide what to do with himself after that. we just get a fade to black in the manga after rin and sae’s confrontation in the manga, but we do know that it was in winter. i don’t know how seasons in japan work or when football season is, but i imagine that having rin’s and isagi’s big life changing moments happen on the same day would be kind of unlikely (but who knows, this is a sports manga and the timeline is blurry).
the next change to his football is likely when he gets the letter to blue lock. this is when football becomes a tool to use in the goal of proving sae wrong. proving that he did deserve to be part of sae’s life, and that sae was in the wrong for saying what he did. football was now about making sae feel like rin did with the added weight of guilt. making sae feel guilty about how he treated rin when he returned from spain. blue lock is just a way for him to streamline that process. the facility gives him access to top trainers and training facilities, as well as the opportunities he needs to get back at sae. this football isn’t about enjoyment or happiness or anything that the football he played before was about. this football was about his anger and his need for revenge, at the same time it was also about his want for his older brother back. his want for his brother to love him like he used to, to wrap him up in his arms and take him out for ice cream and sit by the ocean with him. this football was football filled with grief over the fact that his relationship with his brother will never be the same because he is not good enough.
then the u-20 match happens, and this marks yet another change to rin’s football. this is when sae manages to fully cement himself as a world class jerk in both my mind and in rin’s. after this match rin is pissed off, like he is mad mad. he takes some of that anger out on isagi because he’s a) the one that sae praised, and b) the one who walked up to rin who was clearly spitting mad and tried to have a conversation. but after the u-20 match, this is when rin starts to play football for himself. this is when rin lets go of playing for sae altogether, and i am so excited to see what that looks like. this is rin accepting that if sae’s going to be a jerk to him for the rest of his life then he’s not going to let him run it anymore. this is rin not letting go of all the bullshit that he went through with sae, but accepting that it happened and kind of moving on.
of course, this is all from rin’s perspective. i’d like to see what sae thinks of what went down between the two of them, it’s likely much different than how rin views it.
at the time that i’m writing this post (ch 231 of the manga is latest chapter) we haven’t seen any of our paris x gen pals since they chose their team, so that means we haven’t seen rin in a while. i feel like rin’s new play style will be extremely interesting to see (especially from isagi’s pov, it’s like that boy can’t not wax poetry about rin), especially since pxg’s mentor is julian loki. since he’s in the same age range as all of blue lock it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the team.
and the u-20 match really good writing, in my opinion. it really expands on rin and sae’s relationship in way that hadn’t happened before and hasn’t happened since, at the time of this post, and that context is why i can even make this post.
hope that you enjoyed my ramblings about rin, i just think he’s neat

It's interesting to see that people think that Amy had given up on Sonic, or even stopped having such strong feelings for for Sonic at all, but I actually have a completely opposite view on this. (Especially since rewatching that Sonic Station Live bit with Amy and after seeing something that made me recontextualize her (Japanese) arc in Frontiers. And I have to stress that it's about the way her arc plays out, not the way she and Sonic interact)
I actually think nowadays Amy acts as if she and Sonic are already together. She's more chill not because she's given up, but because she's already got what she wanted, and now she's content. (Maybe what she wanted changed overtime though, I'll give that) There's always been this bit of mystery in Sonic and Amy's relationship – does Sonic like Amy back? It's always written deliberately in a way that Sonic doesn't give a straight answer when confronted with it outright, to keep this mystery going. And now it also has a bit of a "What are they already together or something?" on top of it.
I actually enjoy this kind of dynamic a lot. And I think it's especially interesting with Sonic and Amy being (in canon) a mlw couple. Because usually this type of dynamic I associate with same gender relationships that are only coded as romantic, and the writers wanted to write them this way (romantically, I mean), but couldn't due to censorship.
Though I will admit it's not like this dynamic doesn't exist in mlw relationships (and it's probably more prominent in shonen too), but it is more likely that they will eventually end up together and go full romo with all the kisses and dates and possible plans for a white picket fence, and lose their interesting dynamic to "well they're dating now". And even with a same gender relationship you know writers would make them outright romantic if they only could. (Which is great, it's always nice to have more open and undeniable representation) But also it lowkey makes me feel weird for enjoying this type of dynamic with those, because I know this is not the kind of relationship the writers wanted to portray, they just didn't have a lot of alternatives.
Which is why I really like the fact that Sonic and Amy's relationship is written this way deliberately, this tethering on the verge of romantic and non-romantic is very appealing to me.
