KANG JINRI was born in BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA as an only child in her family. from a young age her parents pushed her to be the best of the best in school, which only seemed to push her further and further away from it. when she was little, her uncle produced music and she always looked up to him for it, wanting nothing more than to be like him when she grew up. her uncle helped her learn all about producing even if her parents hated that it was talking time away from her studies. JINRI knew that if she wanted to get her parents approval to be a producer one day, she would have to become one of the best, which had her working every spare moment on becoming better. in 2016, she began posting her music online, where it was eventually found by MINJI, a member of the girl group LOTUS along with a producer under OUTSIDER MEDIA, and she asked to become a mentor for the young producer. JINRI agreed and started to work under MINJI, though in 2017, OUTSIDER MEDIA asked her to become an idol trainee to be in their next girl group. after only a few months of training, she appeared on the survival show PRODUCE 48, where she placed 15TH overall, just missing the debut lineup and went back to her company to debut in OUTSIDER MEDIA’S next girl group BLUE MOON.

1: The Gathering of the Lands
Cunning, charming and the center of the night.
That was how they would describe Moon Taeha’s bright red ball gown, in the middle of plainly colored clothings. She was the embodiment of elegance and grace, not one hair or lace out of place. There was no one better to be put center stage, but her. Just as it was when she entered the room, alone, strong and independent. There was no better place than walking through that door with her bright red dress and unlike all of her peers, greeting the people alone in one of the biggest events of the year.
The gathering of the lands was an annual ball hosted by the 5 royal families of the continent. These families rarely held balls, rarely threw parties and rarely had this amount of people roaming around their grounds, that was why this was such a prestigious ball. At this time of year, everyone who rarely walked these halls would take out their best dresses and flaunt it. Flaunting of wealth and fortune, that was all these balls were now. Long gone was its initial initiative to unite the kingdoms that sat beside one another.
There was no one else who was enjoying this night of extravagance more than the lady at the center of attention. This was her forte, her battle grounds, she walked up to potential suitors, ladies from various lands to hear of rumors and stories that went around in their side of the kingdom.
“Rumor has been going around, your highness,” Duchess Jung of the kingdom of Feliz lowers her voice and leans towards the princess. The duchess was merely 20, yet was carrying the child of the Duke, she was a few years younger than the still unwed princess. “Of how count Dong has been looking for a wife,” she talks of the famous good looking count from the kingdom of Hwei.
“Is he?” Even the princess’s ears perk at the news. There weren’t a lot of good looking guys in the marriage market, thus it was an interesting thing to hear when men like them were set to look for a wife. Though, marriage was still off her plate.
“The count of Hwei and my husband have long been friends, since they were in the academy of Maha’ali.”
“There is no source more trusted than your husband when it comes to that private count.” She nods her head as she turns to the side in order to call over a server to offer her some drinks.
Taeha, as she was the epitome of elegance and grace, turns her head ever so slowly. Her head looks over, but stops as she spots a man quietly standing in the corner.
If rarity in good looks were a thing among nobles, there was a group of siblings that do not fall under this category. Aside from the royal siblings in Feliz, Hwei was known to be a hub for young handsome eligible bachelors. All born from pure noble bloods, there was no denying how powerful and important each of the men in Hwei was. The man she was looking at directly was the crowned prince of Hwei, born from the king and queen himself, he was royalty down to the tip of his toes. The crowned prince was known to be rather quiet, nearly out of the social life, rarely attending balls and showing himself to the noble crowd. Just as his striking white and blue attire stood in the corner, it was nearly impossible for heads not to turn towards him due to being such a rare sight in these events.
“One glass of champagne,” she tells one of the servers, who was standing a few tables away from her.
Just as her head turned towards the direction of the server. Talking among noble men were two more bachelors from the kingdom of Hwei. Standing tall among the crowd was the eldest of the bunch, who arrived late into the royal family. His was a face most popular with lines of women asking to be wed to him, it was a rather interesting sight to see that he was being pursued rather than the other way around. Standing right beside him was a man much softer in looks, but was a beauty nonetheless in comparison to his brother. He was known to have much more gentle features than the two of his brothers, as others would note that this may come from his mother rather than his father. Just as the eldest was a late addition to the royal family and so was the youngest, born into a different kingdom and raised in one, his birth and addition to the royal family in Hwei was still a political topic that the leaders of Hwei and Feliz avoided.
Taeha could simply sigh. Though they were the most eligible bachelors in the continent, they were also shrouded with rumors, some as shocking as soon as it reached her ears, while others were claims that were obviously false.
There was a reason why they remained unwed even at the age of marriage especially for a royal family.
Soon enough the hired musicians began playing their piece, and it was there that everyone understood what was about to happen, or heard and read of it from stories of the past. In other normal balls or events, there was no need for a center stage or a huge expensive band and singer, but every once in a while the gathering of the lands was used as a stage to announce engagements among the five kingdoms. It was rare, as it was often practiced that kingdoms do not engage or marry into one another, yet in the rare case that they do it is indicated by a single song playing and able to silence the crowd to a near silence. It was easily a recognizable tune, with the beginning strong and mighty commanding everyone to turn their heads to the center.
Just as it was often practiced, from books that she’s read about the event the two leaders would stand in the middle and announce the engagement, before calling over the two who are now engaged and allow them to dance. In history, this has only been successful twice but was attempted several times.
So, it didn’t come as a surprise when the first king that walked into the center was the king of Hwei, though much elder everyone could tell where his sons got their looks from. His nose bridge was tall and features truly masculine, it was impossible not to call such a man in his late years good looking. Standing in the center with the same blue and white colors as his sons, but in an outfit much grandiose than all of his sons’ combined. He was easily the center of attention. He begins with greetings, just as every leader does, as a way to establish his presence.
“Thus, tonight I would like to call on one of my sons to dance in the center.” Almost immediately his eyes moved towards the son that was quietly standing at the back, obviously baffled by the sudden call on him, though his name was still to be uttered by his mouth. “Thus, I would like to call on the crowned prince of Hwei, Huang Guanheng!” The sound of clapping immediately follows. If it weren’t for the huge clapping sound echoing through the ball room, Guanheng wouldn’t have stood upright from leaning against the wall.
She watched as it took him a moment to come to his senses and begin gently bowing his head in confidence as he walked towards the center. Whispers couldn’t help but follow as he walked to the center stage. Among nobles Guanheng wasn’t perceived as the perfect ruler, some say he was too soft spoken to take charge, or that he wasn’t communicating with others enough. He didn’t try to get along with nobles and it was very clear that he wasn’t even in the slightest bit interested. He was the crowned prince, but no one truly acknowledged him as the next king of Hwei.
Once he got to the center, it was clear that even with rumors circulating about him, he stood tall. Nearly as if standing at the center stage was a different man from the person leaning against the wall of the ballroom just earlier. Though eyes were on the crowned prince of Hwei, eyes were darting between the four other kings. Anticipating who would walk towards the center stage next.
In all honesty, it wasn’t looking too good for her as well.
With a number of royal princesses already married off as soon as they were able to marry, there were only three who could be married with the prince. Aside from herself, there were two more from the kingdom of Feliz. This might be the reason behind the rarity of marrying between kingdoms, the absolute lack of pairs that could be paired.
Just as she was feeling all uneasy, the moment the red cape walked to the center, she knew that the inevitable was about to happen, that it would be her who would be called out next. They have five siblings in total, their eldest has long been married to a count, she was thirty and five years. The following was another lady, thirty years of age, just as their eldest, married. Then followed by their only brother, the crowned prince of the kingdom of Sui, he was twenty and seven, just as it was with the two eldest, married and with children. That was also the case with the other princess that followed. All that was left was her, she was twenty and three, by this age all her sisters were either pregnant with their second child or caring for their children.
It wasn’t like she was of no beauty either, she’s had suitors and has been engaged a number of times, yet not one lasted longer than a month. It was quite obvious what she had been trying to get across as soon as she turned eighteen, that marriage was the least of her concerns. This was probably her parents' way of forcing her to marry, as her bethronement was now much weightier than any other engagements she has had in the past.
“I am glad to welcome everyone tonight, as this remains a sign of cooperation between the kingdom, each and every nobleman present tonight would stand witness as another feat for peace would be settled with the tying of our two royal children.” King Taemu, the king of Sui, smiles at the crowd and turns his head towards the crowned prince standing just as tall as he was. “Thus, I shall call my youngest daughter to the front,” Taeha feels her heart drop at the moment, “Princess Moon Taeha!” As if her name was a cursed word, she flinches.
The moment she looked up at her father, triumph was written all over his face. She then quickly scans the crowd as eyes watch her every move, just as they did with the crowned prince of Hwei earlier. However, she doesn’t want to repeat the same mistakes that he did, instead of appearing more flustered she takes a deep breath in, even as her hands were shaking she grabs her dress to slightly lift it and walk to the center.
She stood right beside her father and beside the crowned prince, who appeared to be much taller than he looks. With her head held up high and her hands trembling, she couldn’t help but glare at her father every chance she got. Though it was unladylike of her, she would rather glare at him now than she dances with her now fiance.
“We hope to invite everyone present tonight in two months in the kingdom of Hwei to celebrate the union of the princess of Sui and the next heir of Hwei!” Immediately the ballroom erupts in cheers and joys from the news, this was probably the first– and most likely the last– in their generation where two great kingdoms were to marry.
“My beloved youngest daughter, princess Taeha and my future son-in-law, prince Guanheng, the two of you may start the dance tonight.” As it was tradition for the now engaged couple to dance together first, as a spectacle, a show, a political tool. Tonight, once her hands were placed on top of his shoulders it would mean that escaping this marriage would be nearly impossible.
Thus, when a hand was offered in front of her and the room erupts in murmurs, she knew that there was no way she could think of a way out of this at this moment. Thus, she did what every lady would do when offered with a dance she couldn’t refuse, she turned around and bowed towards her father and then to the king before facing the hand held up towards her. Then she bowed towards him.
“I believe, your fathers would leave the two of you to enjoy the stage.” The King of Hwei gives them a mischievous smile.
Without uttering another word, the crowned prince acknowledges his father with a simple nod of his head. “Then shall we proceed, princess?” The way he called her ‘princess’ felt like he was mocking her. Instead of uttering a word towards the prince who, just as she was, appears to hate every moment this set up gave them, she simply accepts the hand that was held out for a little too long. She forces a smile on her face, but as everyone in this hall has seen her with the same smile earlier, no one could tell that she was annoyed beyond her wits. That is except for the man guiding her down to the center of the dancing area.
They stood there, unsure of what song and routine they would be dancing to. At that moment, Taeha stood upright, just as the crown prince was, and they were finally looking each other in the eye. Indeed, rumors cannot be made up about how good looking the next heir of Hwei looked. His eyes were big and his features strong, he kept himself clean and he, just as she took a whiff earlier, smelled just as clean. She’s seen images on painting, but they could not compare to his beauty.
Taeha simply takes a deep breath, in order to calm herself down and stop her from complimenting the prince further. It wasn’t long after that the music began playing. In an instant the two well trained royals knew how the dance would go.
With a hand on his shoulders and his hand on her waist, they take steps in tune to the music. The dance originates from the kingdom of Maha’ali, known to be a romantic dance meant for couples to get to know each other as they move. It was slow, and kept them close, but not too close, just enough to converse without anyone other than them to hear their conversation. Intimate enough for only two, but leaves enough space for the dance not to turn awkward.
“Indeed,” she mutters as she takes a step, “they’ve talked about this engagement long before.”
“Is it because of the choice of music?” The prince is close enough to hear her mutters.
“The piece is no simple feat to learn, your highness. As my knowledge suffices, there is no band in the land that knows how to play this tune.” They do a simple turn, and take a step away from each other.
Yet the distance was closed in a mere second. “And how would you,” his eyes scan the band playing in the corner, “know of that, princess?” The way he calls her princess feels like he was swearing at her.
“Noble women always want the most absurd, your highness.” She glances over his shoulders when given the opportunity. She would be an absolute rock if she never noticed the envious dagger like stares towards her.
“You speak as if you aren’t noble yourself.”
“I believe the absurdity of society needs to be called out.”
“Indeed,” Guanheng simply nods his head.
Then the two begin dancing just as they were taught, with absolute precision and grace. If anyone was in their right mind, they would understand that they were nothing compared to the royal family. Sure they could send envious stares towards the princess, but the famously beautiful and graceful princess suited the crowned prince more than anyone else in this room. It was uncommon for two royal families to marry into one another, but much rare was the marriage of two people of the same age.
“Appears the good looking crown prince has some admirers,” she decides to break the ice further by commenting on the stares she’s been getting since they’ve begun to dance.
“Are they admirers of me or are they admirers of my title?” He smiles at her, but one that was obviously forced upon.
Taeha sighs. “Well, not a lot of those women would be married to men the same age, and fewer would be able to marry a crowned prince.”
“Indeed,” he replies the same as he did earlier, as if he wanted to say more but was holding himself back.
Then they danced once again in silence. Taking steps they’ve memorized and practiced for as long as they could walk. Holding themselves up in a way that people would describe elegance and grace.
“Does it not occur to you, princess,” this time him calling her out was much softer, “that your father simply repressed the bands from playing this difficult tune from Maha’ali for your engagement?”
“Do you think my father is as obsessive as that?”
“Not yours,” he pauses, “mine.” His eyes slightly grew a bit at that moment. “He can be a little… overbearing as a father.”
“Ah,” was the princess’s reply as they took one last turn on the dance floor. Once she takes a step back to bow towards him once more, she takes notice of how every single pair of eyes were looking at them– not just her.
“Knowing my father, it won’t be long until we meet again, princess.” Guanheng takes her hand and leaves a light peck on it, it was a universal sign between them that he was bidding his farewell to the lady.
When Guanheng bid her his farewell, she didn’t expect things to roll out as quickly as they did.

QUEENDOM EPISODE ONE.
✿𝆬 。 ˚ STARRING : @snspice , @bemyminnie , @loveqpids , @overthebluemoon , @seralite , @angelsrealm , @melliminx , @d0llswrld
✿𝆬 。 ˚ WORD COUNT : 7.3K
The stage is pitch-black. The audience can't yet see it, but in the middle of it stands Lim Minseo and Park Mikyoung. They're standing a few feet away from each other, both holding microphones. After a few seconds, the spotlight pans onto Minnie. She's wearing a navy blue, off the shoulder dress and standing with one hand on her hip. The camera zooms in on her, and she brings her microphone up and begins speaking.
"A battle between girl groups with Kpop's pride on the line— Queendom." She says, smiling at the camera. "Hello, I'm Minnie, and I'm here to take you to Queendom, alongside..."
A second spotlight shines onto the second host, Mika. She's wearing a dress similar to Minnie's, only hers is purple. She's smiling widely at the camera, the microphone already at her lips. "Me! SNS' Mika." She introduces herself, pausing briefly before continuing. "Six girl groups that represent Kpop making their comeback simultaneously... it's time to find out who the real number one is." With that, the spotlight dims, and the stage is black again.
The show transitions to a second stage, much more grand than the first one. It's already lit up, bright purples and blues shining throughout it. It's undeniably beautiful. There are areas for seating, like bleachers, separated by six different places for logos, which will tell the girls where to sit.
The camera pans throughout the large room, showing it off, before moving to the area where the girls would enter. Right then you can hear a voice, followed by another one. One by one, the first group enters— Outcast Entertainment's Blue Moon. They're already wearing their stage outfits, each of them in different shades of blue. They're all wearing dress pants and different tops. Jinri, Aries, and Della are all wearing blazers while Taeha isn't, instead wearing an off the shoulder top.
"Woah." Taeha's face is bright with excitement that reflects onto the other girls. "This place is huge!" She exclaims, smiling widely. The other three stay close together, but look equally amazed.
"I can't believe we're here." Della gushes, straying away from Jinri and Aries to look around.
"I can." Jinri says easily.
"We're here to win." Jinri runs a hand through her hair, her smile cocky. "We've just lost a member, and we need to prove that we'll be just fine without her."
"Where do we sit?" Aries asks, eyes scanning over the seats. Just then, Blue Moon's logo appears over one of the sections. Taeha claps her hands, pointing over to it.
"Right there!" She smiles at the others, rushing over to take a seat. The other three follow behind her, Della sitting next to her, Aries and Jinri in front of them, and they immediately get back to talking.
The show transitions to the four members sitting around a table.
"I'm nervous." Taeha speaks up first, tapping her fingers against the table. "We've never done this before, but I think we'll do well, right?"
"Of course we will." Jinri says, confident. "We'll win. I'll make sure we do." Her voice leaves no room for argument, and she's smiling at her group.
"The other girls are really talented, too." Aries chimes with a hum. "But we're the best, aren't we?"
"Who do you think is coming next?" Della asks, and Jinri hums in response.
"DollsWorld? Seralite?" Jinri suggests, tilting her head to the side. "Maybe 1004?" She's smiling, and Taeha let's out a small 'oooh'.
"I hope it's Melliminx." Aries hums, "I'd like to meet them." She adds, and Della nods in agreement.
Just then, footsteps are heard and Blue Moon quickly go quiet as the second group steps out— Angelico's DollsWorld. They're the largest group in the competition, consisting of 9 members that all come walking out at once. Their outfits are a mix of girl crush and quirky, matching the group's general vibe.
"Goodness." Their maknae, Josie, is the first to speak, her eyes wide with wonder. She looks over at Blue Moon and immediately bows in greeting. Binna, Ami, Noir and Jisoo do the same, while the other four wander, examining the room and stage.
Taeha stands up to go greet the second group, bowing as she does. Her smile is wide as she walks over to them, immediately beginning to make conversation with Josie and Binna.
"Blue Moon?" Pinky sits in the confessional, tilting her head to the side with a small smile. "Didn't they just get into a scandal? Who on earth is going to be voting for them right now?" She asks, giggling. "They're no threat."
"Ah, don't they have an advantage?" Aries asks the camera, crossing her arms. "They're full of former members of popular groups. An ex BTS member? That group has, like, millions of fans. Won't they vote for them?" She huffs. "I don't see how that's fair."
Aries doesn't say that to their face, though, only smiling at the other group as they take their seats.
The show transitions again, this time to DollsWorld sitting in a room, around a table being interviewed.
"I want DollsWorld to make an impression." Their leader, Suki, says with a nod.
"I don't want people to know us as just 'the group with the ex-BTS member.'" Noir confesses next, rubbing her arm. "Or the ex-F(X) member, or—" She cuts herself off when Blair glares at her. "I want us to be known as DollsWorld." The other girls nod, and the show transitions back to the stage
The stage is now awkward and quiet. Everyone is sitting in their respective areas. Pinky and Zasha are whispering to each other, inaudible. Similarly, on the other side, Della, Jinri and Aries are talking quietly amongst themselves.
"It's a bit more awkward than I anticipated." Taeha says, laughing. "But that's okay! I thought it was gonna be, anyway. We've never really talked to each other..."
Just then, the next group enters the room. Five girls step out— Celestial's Seralite. All of them are smiling widely, obviously excited, just as the others were. They're wearing doll-like outfits that truly match the angel concept.
Nai looks over at the other two groups and stops in her tracks, "Ah— say hello, everyone." She gestures for the other 4 to look at the other two groups. They do as instructed, bowing in the process.
DollsWorld and Blue Moon clap for them, voices overlapping as they all greet Seralite.
Like it did for the other two groups, the show transitions to Seralite sitting together around a table.
"Seralite are well known internationally, but we'd really like to gain more domestic fans." Nai says.
"Right. I really would like more Korean fans." Berry adds, "I want to make a statement. I want people to look at us and think 'Wow... they're so cool'." She smiles and the others nod in agreement.
It fades back to the stage, where Seralite are now taking their seats. The room is still a bit awkward and quiet, nobody quite sure what to say. Blaise speaks up to attempt and break the awkward silence. "Who do you think is next?" She asks the room in general, tapping her fingers against the seats.
"Melliminx?" DollsWorld Blair suggests, and a general murmur of agreement passes throughout the room.
"Maybe 1004?" Blue Moon's Della chimes, "Or QPIDS?"
As if on cue, the fourth girl group starts to enter the room— Bonus Entertainment's QPIDS. They're notably one member short, but they all still look excited. Eunha, Kyungmi, and Xinyi are wearing pastel blue, while Chaerin, Zuki, and Jae are wearing white. They're not too eye-catching compared to some of the other girls, but they're pretty and match the group's vibe.
Their leader Eunha turns to face the other three groups and immediately stands straighter, causing their maknae Jae to snort.
"Ah, hello!" Eunha greets, bowing. Most of the members of the other groups do the same. "We're QPIDS—"
"They know who we are, Eunha." Chaerin interrupts, clicking her tongue. She's the first of them to make her way over to their seats, on the opposite side of the stage from the other groups.
"Ignore her. She's just like that." Member Kyungmi says with a roll of her eyes, while Eunha smiles awkwardly at the other groups. The rest of the groups are quiet, and QPIDS make their way over to their seats. As soon as they sit down, member Xinyi hits Chaerin in the arm.
The show transitions to QPIDS sitting around a table— only now they have seven members instead of six. The missing member Minji is sitting with them, her smile bright.
"QPIDS blew up domestically recently." Eunha says, running a hand through her hair, "I want to prove that we deserved that." She explains with a smile.
"I think this is a good opportunity to gain more international fans." Mizuki adds, "We have some western fans, but I'd like fans from other countries as well!" She grins at the camera, and Minji speaks up next.
"I'm excited. I think this will be a good learning experience. And I think we have what it takes to win."
It fades back to the stage, where the girls are finally making conversation. Each of them have been given microphones so they can actually converse with the girls across the stage. They're talking about each other's songs and interacting well when the fifth group begins to walk out and they all go quiet.
The show's second quartet, Imaginaut's Melliminx, steps out one by one. They're all waving as they step out, bright smiles on their faces. They're wearing outfits with a schoolgirl vibe to them, with matching varsity jackets, each member having their initials on theirs. The other girls clap for them as they walk out, and Melliminx bow in greeting.
Their leader, Seulbee, claps her hands. "Ah, let's greet them." She instructs the others, and they form a line, bowing once again.
"Melli-mi, melli-my! Hi, we are Melliminx!" The four repeat their greeting easily, and the others clap for them again.
Their maknae, Joohwa, points over to where their logo is shining above the seats. The four begin to make their way over to their seats, and the show transitions again. The four are now sitting around a table, being interviewed as the other groups were.
"We've never done anything like this." Eunjae speaks up first. "So it's definitely a bit nerve-wracking, but I think we'll do okay!"
"We're going to make an impact." Seulbee's voice is confident. "I don't know if we'll win- of course that's the goal, but I think as long as people look at us, admire us, I'll be happy."
There is a short silence throughout the group. Plum is the one who breaks it. "But I mean, obviously, we'd like to win."
It fades back to everyone now sitting in their seats. Everyone is talking, and QPIDS Mizuki in particular is making good conversation with the Melliminx members.
"I used to train with them!" Mizuki exclaims, proudly and with a large smile. "I haven't spoken to them much since I...left...the company, so it's nice!"
"Who's last?" Seralite's Eunjoo asks her fellow member, Yukyung, who hums in response.
"1004, right? They're the only ones who haven't shown up yet." She replies, and Eunjoo let's out a small 'ohh' and nods.
"I'm mostly nervous about 1004." Eunjoo says, shuffling in her seat. "Our concepts are really similar, but they're more experienced. I just hope we can keep up with them."
A few minutes pass before the final group enters. 1004 walk in, and the girls all clap once again. 1004 are the most experienced group in the competition, debuting back in 2014, while the others debuted in 2018 or later. The seven girls are all smiling and waving at the others, all dressed in white to match the angel concept.
"Hello, hi!" Inya greets, bowing as the claps die down. "Thank you! It's nice to meet you all!" She smiles widely, waving at everyone as her fellow member Dalrae begins pulling her over to where they're meant to be seated. She doesn't stop waving until she's finally seated, and the show transitions to the seven being interviewed.
"We were on hiatus for a while." Their leader, Halo, starts. "What, nearly 3 years?" She asks rhetorically. "We've got to prove we've still got it, you know?"
"Right." Maknae Jaewon confirms. "We're still 1004, and we've got what it takes to win." She grins widely, and Zhizi hums.
"We're easily the best group here and the most seasoned. I have no doubt that we'll win." Sol smiles at the camera, cocky.
The show transitions with an aerial view of all the groups in their seats. Everyone is back to talking amongst themselves and their groups.
"Everyone's here now." DollsWorld Suki points out to her groupmate, Binna. "Will the hosts come out soon?" She asks, and Binna nods.
"They have to, right?" Binna replies, smiling. "I'm excited. I want to meet them."
On the other side of the room, Melliminx's Seulbee is talking with her group mates. "I'm curious to see everyone's performances." She comments, adjusting one of the clips in her hair.
"I'm a bit nervous." Joohwa says, chewing on her bottom lip. "Everyone here is so talented."
"But so are we." Seulbee smiles, "We're gonna do great, don't worry too much." She reassures their maknae, patting her on the shoulder. Joohwa nods and sends Seulbee a nervous smile.
Everyone is getting ready for their performances, both mentally and physically, when the room suddenly darkens and the stage lights up. There is immediately a round of cheers throughout the room, the girls clapping.
The hosts step out, and with it, another round of cheers starts up. Minnie and Mika are wearing the same dresses they were in the intro, but they look much more excited.
"They're so cool." QPIDS Xinyi gushes in the confessionals, her eyes lit up. "It's so amazing being able to see them in person."
Each group bows as the hosts walk past them, up to the stage. Mika is the first to speak.
"It's so wonderful to meet you all." Mika smiles widely at the groups, "I'm your host, Park Mikyoung."
"And I'm host Lee Minseo." More cheers erupt from the crowd, and the two girls bow in thanks. "We'll be here to guide you through your journey to Queendom."
"I'm sure many of you are nervous." Mika says, trying not to make it too obvious she's reading from a cue card, "But we'll be here to help you."
"That's right. Queendom, the journey to find who the real Queen is, starts here." Minnie announces. "We're excited to find out who the number one is."
"Let's explain the evaluation rules, shall we?" Mika asks rhetorically, turning to Minnie with a smile, before back to the groups, who are all waiting anxiously. "There will be a total of four competitions, including the finale. Whoever accumulates the most points over the four competitions... wins Queendom." She says it extra dramatically, causing some of the girls in the crowd to giggle.
"She makes the mood lighter." 1004's Jaewon says, "I'm grateful for it."
"There are four categories for evaluation." Minnie continues. "Participants self evaluation, experts evaluations, Korean and global fans evaluations, and finally, the number of views on a global platform. These will all be calculated to determine the winners." She explains.
"The final Queen will be rewarded with a comeback show only for them and a special reality show." Mika says, grinning as the groups all clap with large smiles.
"Ah, I want that so bad." Seralite's Berry sighs, "I'd really like to bring domestic attention to our group."
"As you know, the 100 second performance you've prepared will be evaluated by fans." Minnie reminds them, "The winning team...will be rewarded 1,000 points."
"Ah, that's so much!" Blue Moon's Taeha says to her group, who nod in agreement.
"First place will also... get to decide the performance order for the first competition." Mika announces.
"Wow..." Melliminx's Plum says with awe, kicking her legs back and forth. "The order is really important. That's an amazing benefit."
"Now...we will begin the meet and greet performances!" Minnie exclaims, her smile wide. "We're excited to see what you guys have prepared for us and the viewers."
"With that...let's begin the competition!" Mika claps, and the groups do the same. "Would you guys like to know the performance order?" She holds a hand to her ear, to show that she was waiting on an answer. A chorus of responses went through the room, and Mika smiled. "Great! Hmm..." She looks around the room and her eyes land on DollsWorld Noir. "Noir! Do you want your group to go first or last?"
Suddenly all eyes are on Noir, and she brings the microphone up. "Umm.." She laughs awkwardly, "I'd like our group to be the finale." She says with a smile.
"And what about you, Kasai?" Minnie asks, eyes on 1004 Kasai, who immediately sits up straighter as she brings her microphone up.
"We'd also like our group to be the finale." She answers, nodding.
"Everyone does, right?" Mika grins, "Well, let's get to the real performance order. You selected your expected number 1 for today's competition, which helped us decide this." She nods up to the screen above them, where three group names sit.
1. 1004
2. DollsWorld
3. Seralite
"This means that 1004 will be performing last." Minnie announces, clapping for the girl group. The rest of the girls do the same, a general murmur going throughout the crowd.
"Save the best for last, right?" Kasai says, sending an all teeth grin to the camera.
"The rest of the order will be decided through a relay selection." Mika explains, and a gasp is heard from the crowd.
"Ah, do we get to pick?" Jaewon asks her group, bouncing in her seat.
"I think so." Sol answers, smiling at the other girl.
"1004 will get to choose the opening team." Minnie says, smiling over at the girl group, who all clap in excitement. "We'll give you girls a few minutes to decide.
1004 all huddle together to discuss, while the other groups talk among themselves.
"I think it's better to go first!" QPIDS Zuki tells her group, who all look visibly anxious. "We'll be opening up the show. It's better than being in the middle, right?"
Blue Moon's Jinri is talking to her group as well. "I think it'll be fine if we go first. We'll show that we're the best and make everyone nervous." She smiles at her group, who nod.
"We've made our decision." 1004's Halo announces suddenly, and all the girls turn to look at the group, "We've decided that... Melliminx will go first."
"Ah, why did they choose us?" Joohwa complains, "I hope we do well..."
"We'll do fine!" Seulbee says, clapping her hands. "Let's show them!" She exclaims, trying to get her group excited, but they all still look anxious.
"Alright!" Mika claps her hands, "Melliminx, please go prepare your performance!" With that, Melliminx stand up and begin walking backstage, bowing as they do. The other girls clap for them.
"Fighting!" Blue Moon's Taeha exclaims, and many of the other girls repeat her.
Melliminx walk backstage, each of them looking notably worried, except Seulbee. She looks excited, but that might be to help calm the other girls nerves.
"We've got this! Let's go practice, yeah?" She smiles at the others, and they all nod.
"I think we'll do okay." Seulbee says, "I'm a bit nervous too, but I know that we're good! I know we'll do good!"
"The introduction stage will now begin!" Mika announces, and everyone claps, "Best of luck to Melliminx!" With that, the two hosts walk off the stage.
Melliminx walk onstage. They look confident, able to mask their nerves pretty well. The girls all clap as Melliminx get into position.
"Ah, I'm nervous for them." DollsWorld Pinky laughs, shaking her head.
The lights begin to dim. The performance opens with Seulbee rapping, and the other girls gasp.
"Oh, she's so good." QPIDS Jaehee whispers to her groupmate Chaerin, kicking her legs back and forth.
"She's okay." Chaerin replies, rolling her eyes with a huff. Jaehee just hums and continues watching the performance as the chorus of their song Jelly begins.
Melliminx are doing well. They're obviously very talented and know what they're doing, even when they're nervous. The performance moves into a dance break, and the other groups all let out little 'oohs'. There's a chorus of claps when Melliminx begin to slip their jackets off.
"Ahh, they're so cool." Seralite's Yukyung says, pretending to fan herself with a wide smile.
The performance ends with a harmonization, and everyone erupts in claps once again.
"They did so well!" DollsWorld Ami says with a smile. "I really liked it a lot. The chorus was catchy." She hums a bit of the chorus, smile never fading.
"It was good, but pretty boring, no?" 1004's Zhizi questions, tilting her head. "I think the opening rap was the best. The rest was just... boring." She shrugs. "Maybe we should've picked someone else."
"I think we did well." Melliminx's Plum smiles to the camera, "We didn't make any obvious mistakes. Everyone was a bit nervous, but I think all the groups are." She runs a hand through her hair, smile not fading.
The claps don't die down until Melliminx are offstage and the crowd continues talking, all now excited after watching the first performance.
After a few minutes, Melliminx walk back onstage, sweaty from the performance but smiling widely. The groups all clap again.
"You did good!" QPIDS Xinyi cheers as Melliminx walk out. The four girls all bow right before they sit down.
"That was our first performance, Melliminx." Minnie announces, clapping. "You girls did well!"
"It was so wonderful! Ah, Seulbee's rap..." Mika pretends to faint into Minnie's arms, again causing girls in the crowd to giggle. She stands back up, smiling over at Melliminx. "Are you guys satisfied with your performance?" She asks.
"I am." Seulbee answers easily, "I think we did great, and I'm satisfied with how it went."
"Good! And 1004 who chose Melliminx, what did you guys think?" Minnie asks, looking over at said girl group.
Halo is the first to speak. "I think.. it could've been better." She says, her face neutral. Melliminx immediately look a bit nervous. "I really think you did well, it was just a bit uneventful, especially for the intro performance." She pauses, "But I do think that you're all really talented."
Seulbee shakes her head. "So she debuted before us, does that mean she can get away with saying that? They're the ones who chose us." She sighs, blinking a few times. "Whatever. Let's just wait to see their performance."
It briefly cuts to Eunjae sitting in the confessionals with teary eyes, before back to the stage
"Okay!" Mika claps her hands to get the attention on her, smiling. "This means Melliminx will get to choose the next group. We'll give you a few seconds to make your decision."
Melliminx huddle together, speaking in hushed whispers. Plum momentarily looks over at DollsWorld, before back at her group.
"Ah, she looked at us." Josie whispers to Noir. "Do you think we're going next?" She asks, looking at Noir with wide eyes.
"Maybe." Noir answers, shuffling in her seat. "I don't know. She just looked over at Seralite, too." She points out, and Josie let's out a small 'ohh'.
"We've made our decision." Seulbee announces, and everyone's eyes land on her. "The group we want to go next is..." She pauses, giving the show an opportunity to add dramatic music. "Blue Moon."
Blue Moon immediately stand up to begin walking backstage. The other groups clap and Blue Moon bow as they pass them.
"I'm excited." Jinri says to camera, "I know we'll do well. We practiced a lot." The show cuts to a clip of Jinri snapping at her members to do better, and then her voice is censored, before it cuts back to Jinri in the confessionals. "We're ready."
"Let's get ready for our next performance! Blue Moon~" Minnie claps, and again, the two hosts move out of the way to let the girls perform. Blue Moon steps out, getting into position while the girls clap. Their claps die down when the music begins.
Their performance is of their debut song, Like It's Your Last, but it's noticeably a lot different. It's slower and sexier, with a bit of a jazzy beat. The choreography is a lot more simple than the one for the original song, to match the new vibe.
"Wow..." QPIDS Kyungmi says, sighing dreamily. "Ah, they're so sexy." She gushes to Eunha, who nods in agreement.
Jinri also wrote a new rap for it, and a chorus of ooh's and ah's echoed throughout the room as she began it. At one point during their performance, there's a wardrobe malfunction— Aries' jacket gets stuck to rings, but she handles it professionally and manages to fix it off screen. Besides that, the performance goes well and when it comes to an end, another round of claps goes through the room.
"They're so cool!" DollsWorld Binna exclaims, smiling over at Suki, who shrugs.
"It was okay..." Suki mutters, "I don't know. I think they could've done better. That mishap was preventable." She adds, and just misses how Binna rolls her eyes.
"Aries handled that so well..." Seralite's Berry comments, "I almost wouldn't have noticed."
A few seconds pass, before Blue Moon begin walking backstage again, smiling widely to themselves.
"We did well. Aries handled it professionally, and that was our only mistake. I have no doubt that we'll rank first." Jinri says with a smile, despite the fact that they're only the second performance.
When Blue Moon walk back on stage, everyone claps again for them. Their smiles are wide and they all look proud of themselves.
"Ahh, I got goosebumps." Minnie began, "You guys were so cool! I enjoyed it thoroughly." She smiled at the girls, who bow in thanks. "Jinri, I heard you remade the song. Is that so?
"Yes." Jinri confirms with a nod. "I was the one who remade it, and I wrote the new rap."
"And are you happy with how it went?" Mika asks, tilting her head.
"I am." Jinri answers. "I think we did well. I look forward to seeing everyone else's performance."
"Speaking of! It's now your turn to choose the next group. We'll give you a minute to come to a decision." Minnie says, smiling at the girls, who turn to each other to decide.
"Taeha keeps looking at us. Do you think we're next?" QPIDS Jaehee asks Eunha, who hums.
"Maybe. Are you ready?" Eunha questions in return, looking over at Jaehee with a playful smile.
"Of course I am." Jaehee answers, crossing her arms. "I was born ready." She adds, and Eunha giggles.
"We've made our decision!" Taeha announces, smiling over at the hosts. "We've decided... we'd like Seralite to go next." She announces, looking from the hosts over to said group, her smile never fading. Aries, Jinri, and Della all nod in agreement. They all look a bit nervous as they stand, but Blaise in specific looks like she's about to throw up.
"I have a high note." She explains, fixing her hair anxiously. "I've practiced a lot, but I'm nervous. I really don't need my voice cracking during our first performance."
The girls begin walking backstage, and everyone claps as they do.
"Blaise is nervous, but I know she'll do well and so will the rest of us." Nai tells the camera. "We'll help calm her nerves a bit before going on stage and everything should be fine!" The show cuts to Blaise pacing around backstage while Nai and Yukyung are trying to help keep Berry awake, before back to Nai in the confessional. "Everything will go fine."
"Our third group, Seralite!" Mika cheers, clapping her hands before moving out of the way with Minnie. Seralite walk out confidently, their nerves now masked. They get into position and the lights dim. A few quiet claps are heard, and then the music starts
Their performance begins with their debut song In Trance, and some of the other groups hum along to it. The first thirty seconds go beautifully, and the music slowly transitions to their b-side, Mothers Lullaby.
"Ah, I've heard this song!" DollsWorld Josie says excitedly, smiling widely. "It's so wonderful for a b-side..." She comments, trailing off.
After Mother's Lullaby, the music transitions to New Me, the last song the girls were performing. It gets to the point where Blaise has to hit her high note, and she does it well, proving the worries were over nothing.
"Ah, goosebumps." QPIDS Eunha whispers to Mizuki, who nods in agreement.
"Blaise is so wonderfully talented." Eunha praises, combing her hair with her fingers. "I could listen to her sing for dayssss.."
Seralite's performance comes to an end, and the groups all erupt in claps.
"I think theirs was the best so far." 1004's Sol comments. "It was really good! The transitions to each new song were smooth, and they're all really talented." She smiles at the camera, nodding to herself.
Seralite slowly make their way off stage, and everyone continues clapping until they're gone. Everyone starts talking excitedly, most praising the girls while some don't look too impressed.
"It was just okay." QPIDS Chaerin says, rolling her eyes. "I've seen some of their other stages. They've done better."
Seralite slowly make their way back onstage and everyone gives them another round of applause. They all bow in thanks, before it cuts to Blaise in the confessional.
"My voice cracked." She says, teary eyed. "The girls say it didn't and that I did fine, but I heard it! I know it did." She sighs, wiping her eyes. "I just— I wish I had done better."
Once Seralite are all seated, the hosts speak up. "You performed beautifully!" Mika compliments, and Minnie nods in agreement. "Are you happy with it?"
The girls look at eachother, silently debating who was gonna answer before Nai brought her microphone up. "I'm happy. We did well, and I'm proud of us." She answers, smiling at the hosts before bringing her microphone down again.
"I'm glad!" Mika exclaims, clapping for them. "I thought you did well, too. Now, it's your turn to decide who's going next. We'll give you a few minutes." Seralite all nod and turn to each other.
DollsWorld leader, Suki, makes brief eye contact with QPIDS leader, Eunha before they both look away.
"Do I want to go next? I don't know." Eunha looks a bit anxious. "We practiced a lot, but... I'm nervous. I hope we make a good impression."
"We can go next. We're ready." Suki's voice is confident. "We'll be fine."
After a minute or so, Seralite's Nai speaks up. "We've decided." She declares, and all eyes are on her. "We want QPIDS to go next."
The camera pans on QPIDS. Mizuki looks excited, but the other five look nervous.
"I'm ready!" Mizuki says, all smiles. "I have a part where I'm the center. I'm excited~" She wiggles a bit in her seat, happy.
QPIDS stand up to go backstage, everyone clapping as they do.
"I think we're ready." Xinyi smiles nervously at the camera. "We practiced a lot." It cuts to QPIDS in their practice room with Kyungmi shouting at Chaerin, looking about ready to swing, before panning back to Xinyi. "We'll do good!"
"Our..." Mika takes a second to count on her fingers, before looking back up at the camera, "fourth performance! QPIDS~" Minnie and her move out of the way as the crowd begins to clap.
QPIDS step onstage, a few of them still visibly anxious but for the most, they look confident and ready to go. They get into position, and the lights dim. They stay dim for a minute, before a blue light shines on the group.
The performance starts off with the chorus of Kiss Kiss, their more vocal heavy song. Notably, it's mostly Eunha, Mizuki, and Kyungmi singing with them in the center. When the chorus ends, it transitions to their hit song, Just Dance, and there's a few cheers from the crowd. This time Jaehee, Xinyi, and Chaerin are in the center.
The performance runs smoothly, with Eunha hitting her highnote perfectly, up until the end of Chaerin's rap. She messes up the lyrics, and she manages to mask the sheer panic she feels, but the crowd doesn't miss the mistake.
"That's not how the song goes, is it?" Melliminx's Plum asks Seulbee, who shakes her head. "Aish, how embarrassing. I'd probably cry." She giggles, before turning back to focus on the performance that is now slowly coming to end.
When the performance does end, the crowd claps, and it cuts to Chaerin in the confessionals.
"I don't know what went wrong there." She doesn't look visibly upset, the only giveaway being her picking at her fingernails. "I've repeated those lines a hundred times over. The nerves, I guess..."
QPIDS slowly make their way offstage, and it's a bit quiet when they do, everyone talking in hushed whispers. The group eventually walk back onstage, and the other girls clap for them.
"Well, the other five did well. It'd just be mean not to congratulate them." 1004's Kasai comments, blinking at the camera.
"Well!" Minnie claps her hands, getting attention on her. "I think you girls performed wonderfully." She smiles over at QPIDS.
"Chaerin ruined it." Kyungmi spits, crossing her arms. "It was going perfectly and—" She cuts herself off, groaning. "Whatever. When we rank last, she'll be to blame."
"Now! By default, DollsWorld will be going next!" Mika announces. Said girl group stands up, and people clap for them.
"Oh, I'm so excited." Seralite's Berry tells Blaise, who hums in response. "Ah, they're all so talented... I've been waiting for their performance all day." She rambles, and Blaise just nods in agreement.
DollsWorld walks backstage to prepare, the group as a whole buzzing with excitement.
Blaise blinks at the camera, shaking her head. "They're not all that." She says, shrugging. The show cuts to her sending thumbs up to Josie with a big smile as said girl walks by, before back to Blaise in the confessional. "A couple of them are talented, but they're nothing extraordinary."
"We practiced a lot. Like, a lot is an understatement." Suki laughs. "They're ready. We're ready, I made sure of it." She pauses, humming. "I think a couple of us are nervous, but we'll be fine."
"Now, please get ready for our fifth performance, DollsWorld!" Mika grins, bouncing on her feet as her and Minnie step away. DollsWorld walks onstage, and the crowd erupts in claps.
"Ah, I'm so excited." Melliminx's Joohwa whispers to her group. Plum shushes her and makes a gesture for her to turn to the stage.
The lights dim, and the music starts— the chorus to BTS' fire, with Noir in the center. All of the groups immediately erupt in cheers, with some girls doing the choreography from the seats. It suddenly transitions to Pristin's WeeWoo, Binna now centered. It definitely was a surprise.
Blue Moon's Della blinks rapidly. "Aish, so sudden. Gave me whiplash." She giggles a bit, shaking her head.
After WeeWoo ends, it transitions to IZ*ONE's La Vie En Rose. It's a lot smoother than the previous transition, and Blair is now in the center, performing the choreography with ease. They then move on to F(X)'s Electric Shock, another rough transition but it doesn't seem to phase the crowd for the most part, everyone excited. It finally transitions to DollsWorld Eat Ur Vegetables. Suki, Jisoo, Josie, Zasha and Pinky are now more towards the center, with the other four in the back.
The performance slowly comes to an end, and everyone claps loudly for them.
"They did so well!" QPIDS Xinyi compliments. "I would've thought it was the finale if I didn't know better."
Pinky grins, all teeth. "I'd like to see 1004 do beter than that." She giggles.
"The transitions were too rough." 1004's Halo says, face neutral. "I think they were okay, but Noir, Ami, Blair and Binna easily carried the entire performance."
DollsWorld walks backstage, and when they come back onstage, everyone claps again for them. They all bow, the entire group all smiles as they sit down.
It cuts to Binna, Blair, Noir and Ami all sitting in the confessionals together.
"I really enjoyed performing Fire again." Noir admits easily, smiling. "It was fun, one of my favorites." She nods, glancing over at Ami to signal for her to speak next.
"Performing Electric Shock brought back so many memories." Ami sighs. "I really miss F(X). I'm glad I got to perform that song again."
"Yeah, I miss Pristin a lot." Binna smiles, a bit sad around the edges. "I miss the girls. Performing WeeWoo was great. Like Ami said, it brought back a lot of memories." She concludes, and the three of them glance over at Blair, who blinks owlishly.
"Um. Yeah. It was fun. I miss IZ*ONE, I guess."
"So amazing!" Minnie exclaims, "Wow, you guys did wonderful. I loved it. Are you guys proud of it?"
Suki brings the microphone up, nodding. "Yes, we are. I think we did well."
"I'm glad. 1004, you'll be going next. What did you think about their performance?" Minnie asks, turning to said girl group.
Halo glances over at DollsWorld. "I think it was just okay." She answers, monotone. "Your transitions were very rough, except maybe one. I think you guys are very talented, but you could've done better." She shrugs, bringing the microphone down.
"I'd like to see them do any better." Blair says with an eye roll. "We were easily the best so far. Let's see what they've got."
Mika hums. "Well, I hope you guys are ready, because you're up now!" She smiles at them, and the seven stand up and begin to make their way backstage as the other girl groups clap.
"I'm worried." Halo admits, sighing. "I don't think some of the girls understand how important this is. And it's Zhizi and Jaewon's first time performing Angel and 3+1 and-" She groans, running a hand across her face. "I hope we do well, considering all that I just said."
"Alright, our final performance. The group you girls chose as number one, 1004~!" Everyone claps, and Minnie and Mika step aside while 1004 come onstage. The claps get a bit louder, only dying down when the lights begin to dim.
"So exciting." Blue Moon's Taeha bounces a bit in her seat, smiling. She goes quiet when the music begins.
1004 starts with an instrumental intro, and that transitions to the chorus of their song Angel. Sol and Inya are doing a lot of the vocal parts and notably, do miss a few lines.
It momentarily cuts to Pinky in the confessionals, blinking, before back to the performance.
They then transition to the 3+1 dance break, which goes well, everyone letting out a few oohs and ahs. They then move on to the chorus of their song You Devil, and when it comes to an end, everyone claps for them.
"At least I'm not the only one who messed up lyrics." Chaerin snorts, shaking her head.
1004 slowly make their way offstage, and it once again cuts to Halo in the confessionals.
"I knew we should've practiced more." She's visibly upset, if not angry. "I told them a hundred times over how important this was and we had to make a good first impression and—" It cuts off.
1004 walk back onstage, and everyone claps once again for them. QPIDS Mizuki sends them a thumbs up as they walk past, but none of them acknowledge it.
Once 1004 are seated, Minnie speaks up again. "With that, all of our performances are done!" Minnie claps. "A round of applause for everyone, please!" Everyone does as told, and Minnie smiles widely. "You all did well, and I hope you're all satisfied with your performances. Now... we will be announcing the rankings."
"We'll be announcing the rankings in this order: 5th, 4th, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 1st." Mika explains, and there's a couple of gasps from the crowd.
"God, so mean..." Melliminx's Eunjae complains, shaking her head.
The show then cuts to Blue Moon as a whole in the confessionals, all four of them talking.
"I think as long as we don't rank last, I'll be happy." Taeha declares, and the other three nod in agreement.
"I'd like first place." Jinri said, shrugging unabashedly. "We did well. We didn't have any mistakes, except Della's wardrobe malfunction." Said girl hits Jinri in the arm, but Jinri keeps going. "I think we deserve it."
Next, it cuts to DollsWorld.
"We deserve first." Blair says easily. "We didn't make any mistakes. 'The transitions were choppy', who cares?" She shrugs, "At least we didn't forget any of our lines."
"I'd be happy with 4th or 3rd. Maybe even 5th." Binna comments, nodding to herself. Blair blinks over at her. "What?"
"5th?!" She asks incredulously, and the video cuts.
Melliminx are the next onscreen.
"Call it uneventful if you want, but we didn't have any mistakes, did we?" Seulbee tilts her head, humming. "I think we deserve at least 3rd."
"Yeah." Plum agrees. "At least we didn't mess up as bad as—" The editors proceed to censor her.
The video cuts to QPIDS.
"5th would be nice." Eunha says with a sigh, "As long as we don't get last, I'll be happy." She spares a glance to Chaerin, before back at the camera.
"I think we did okay!" Mizuki says, cheerful as ever. "Maybe 4th?" She looks up at Eunha, who shrugs in response.
"4th is a stretch." Kyungmi replies, rolling her eyes.
Seralite are the next onscreen.
"I think we were one of the best, honestly." Nai shrugs. "Maybe 3rd? 2nd? I don't know about 1st, but I mean, I obviously wouldn't complain. We didn't have any mistakes—"
"We did!" Blaise exclaims, "My voice cracked! We'd be lucky to get 5th—" The video cuts her off.
Finally, 1004 are on screen.
"3rd, maybe?" Inya suggests, and Dalrae scoffs.
"You have the little faith in us? I think we deserve 2nd at least." Dalrae says in return, and Inya shrugs.
"3rd? 2nd?" Halo groans. "Did you forget that we missed a bunch of lines?" Inya and Sol both shrink a bit in their seats, sparing each other glances. "We'll get 4th at best."
The show cuts back to the stage, where Mika and Minnie are now holding envelopes.
"Inside of these envelopes... are the rankings for the meet and greet performance." Mika explains, and there are a few muted claps. "Again, the announcement order will go 5th, 4th, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 1st."
"As long as we don't rank last, I'll be happy." Eunha sighs, running a hand through her hair anxiously.
Minnie opens the envelope dramatically, and almost all the girls are nervous as she pulls it up.
"Our 5th place group who gave us a cute yet cool performance..." Minnie says, looking up from the envelope. "..."
"Is it us?" Melliminx's Joohwa asks her group, who shush her in response. The room is tense as everyone waits for Minnie to reveal the 5th place.
"I think it's us." QPIDS Jaehee admits, nodding to herself. "I don't think we were bad enough to be last." She stops herself, blinking. "Were we?"
"I wouldn't be surprised if it's us." 1004's Halo says, face blank. "With how that performance went." She groans again, sighing. "God, we should've done so much better."
It cuts back to everyone anxiously waiting, and finally, Minnie gives them what they're waiting for.
"...Will be announced next week." Minnie closes the envelope and is met with a handful of groans and complaints. She smiles, and Mika and her turn to the camera.
"We'll see you then." Mika grins, and the two hosts wave goodbye as the groups continue complaining in the background.

Crowned Prince || 1
prince!hendery x princess!oc
𝓶𝓪𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓵𝓲𝓼𝓽
genre: angst, fluff, political (but it isn’t focused around that)
warning: none (at the moment)
word count: 1.9k
summary: Like every other tale, this prince was to rule the land and be married off to a princess whose caliber is just as high as his. His life envied by everyone, from the princes of various nations or the common folk. The crowned prince of Hwei, but not the eldest son. The king next in throne, yet none of his followers believe he is fitting of the role. Married off to the most desired bachelorette, yet he’s considered the most undesirable.
Undesirable, non-kingly, and a disappointment, how will the prince address these concerns?
≫∘❀♡❀∘≪
1: Gathering of the Lands
≫∘❀♡❀∘≪
For several generations, from stories his court ladies told him growing up, there was no other nation like the great nations. The five most politically, socially, financially, and diplomatically powerful nations were addressed as the great nations and for centuries the five names have not changed at all. Those from lesser kingdoms, nations, and towns all wanted to be like them, their political intelligence and unquestionable powers are what other nations called ideal. As the young prince has been told of these amazing stories, there was nothing he hoped more than to be a ruler of one of them— a dream that sat at the palms of his hand.
In honor of celebrating peace and elegance, the lands gathered together once a year, in what they called the gathering of the Lands. Its original intention was to celebrate peace after finishing the great war that happened generations ago, where no royal could even remember what a war would look like on a scale that spanned the whole world. Although it intended to celebrate peace, the events, now, are nothing more than a celebration of wealth, a way for the great lands to rub into the faces of lesser, smaller kingdoms that they could never be in their positions.
The once young prince stands tall at the side of the banquet hall decorated in lavish furniture and fine pieces of silverware and plates on various tables that were set in front of him. As other royalties converse into smaller groups, he stood there at the side watching and observing the same repetitive pattern he’s seen since he was old enough to realize. The groups were always in the same pattern of people; at the center was a royal from the great land, but they’re royals too far from the throne, then there would be small kingdom royalties standing right next to the great land, while the smaller nations and towns formed circles around these proud individuals.
In this same old repetitive cycle, there were always those royalties who had huge groups gathering around them. On one end of the hall was someone who stood in the same clothing as he was in. The blue cape over his shoulder kept on his clothes through tasseled pins and a stash over his chest with a blue and gold sword on his waist— the difference was the huge crowd around the other prince of Hwei and the absence of one with himself. The name of the charismatic prince of Hwei was Xuxi, Prince Xuxi of Hwei, the charmer.
The gold and blue stuck out like a sore thumb to him, everyone who glances his way knew from which great nation he was from. Hwei was a wealthy nation that stood as an important trading area for several nations, towns, kingdoms, and especially lands. Hwei sat by a port, being able to easily travel to several areas and by land, it stood close to two huge importers of raw materials and products, Sui and Maha’ali, both are great lands. It was almost impossible for other smaller nations to turn their head towards the young prince, but no one dared to approach him.
On the other end of the hall was a crowd a bit bigger than one that Xuxi had. It was only natural for this person’s circle to be bigger, this year’s gathering was hosted by their land. Among the people around her, she stood out even more than the blue and gold the prince at the corner was wearing. Her whole dress was in a bright shade of red, bigger and bolder than of anyone else’s dress in the room. The ball gown was probably big enough to hide a few items under it and her cape long enough for people to trace her steps from one of the banquet to the other, or that’s what this prince had in his mind. However, the princess was more than the beauty of her dress or the host of this year’s gathering of the lands, she had this captivating aura that drew people into her circle, almost as if she’s a magnet. For several years, Hendery has attended the gathering, he’s heard that her name was Taeha, Princess Taeha of Sui. Sui, as in, this year’s host of the gathering of lands, the land that was said to have been founded upon the mystical creature known as a phoenix.
As the hall echoes in soft murmurs, the orchestra begins playing a soft tune, at first mixed in with the voice of the people, but as more people began to notice the murmurs soften until it was no longer present. The only thing that can be heard now was the instrumentals playing in the background. All attention turned towards the center of the banquet.
“We would like to call to the center of the floor,” the king of Sui stands up from his seat at the podium with a proud smile on his face.
Hendery has seen this before, the kings rarely spoke when the music begins playing, and when they did it was only to announce something he feared the most. The last he’s seen this was when a princess of Feliz, another great land, was called unto the center who was then followed by the crowned prince of Sui. After they were asked to dance, the two kings announced a union between them, both of which were shocked to hear about it because a marriage between the great lands was only seen every once in a while, it was a rare arrangement.
“My daughter, Princess Moon Taeha!” Hendery turns his head towards the woman in her dazzling red dress standing there shocked for a few seconds. All heads were turned towards her as her footsteps echoed with the music as she makes her way towards the center. She, just as Hendery knew, understood why she was called to the middle.
Hendery takes a glance around the room, there were a few candidates that could possibly be her husband, and he knew very well that he was one. He looks around the room and began looking through the endless array of single, unmarried princes from the great lands and there is quite a number. There was his brother, Prince Xuxi, he was a likely candidate, but there was also his younger brother, Prince Renjun, then there were the princes from Feliz, Prince Minhyuk, and Prince Jeno, however, her brother is married to a princess of Feliz. Then there was Farox with its endless amount of eligible bachelors, and the last great land, Maha’ali had none to marry off.
As his mind wonders, King Gui stands up. This man stood in the same blue and gold uniform he was wearing and now more than ever he felt those colors mocking him in the face. The colors were mocking him and screaming at him especially after his father turns his head in search of the man of this woman. He scans the crowd briefly before his father’s eyes landed on him.
“I call in the middle to the dance with the princess, my son,” his father’s eyes never leaving his, “Prince Huang Guanheng, the crowned prince of Hwei.”
Hendery only nods his head, he saw it coming, but why was he still flustered about it. The crowd begins to mutter among themselves and he knew why. To them, Hendery was a faceless prince calling him incapable to even run a nation. He’s heard people say how Lucas was a better fit as the king, he was older than he was, more knowledgeable and was a great military man. He knows about those words about him, but much more than that he knows that most of them muttered in jealousy. Princess Taeha is the most eligible bachelorette, she’s the third in line to the throne, well-read, charmed people and was a beauty, probably the most beautiful woman in the world.
Hendery stands beside the princess and in an instant, he feels as if they were mismatched. Watching her from afar and standing beside her were two completely different experiences. When he stands and watches her from the side, he could take note of everything about her objectively, but beside her, it feels as if all he could do was follow her lead.
Hendery takes a deep breath and offers his hand out, knowing well enough this is what everyone expects of them. Taeha stares at his hand for a while, completely hesitant about this situation, but as he turns her head toward the kings her father begins to stare her down. She had no choice but to take his hand.
For the first time since their names were called, both of them could hear the music once again. The gentle echo of the sounds and soft murmurs of people around them. Hendery reaches his other hand towards her waist, while Taeha places hers on top of his shoulder.
“Isn’t this the first time I’ve come to see your face up close,” Taeha wasn’t very subtle about staring at him with bored eyes as they take steps with the music playing.
“Are you disappointed, princess?” Hendery lifts an eyebrow.
Taeha gets a bit taken aback, she didn’t expect a personality out of this prince. Especially not with what she’s heard about the soft-spoken, shy, and nimble prince, but she refuses to show her shock on her face. “Prince, you’re rather good looking,” she compliments him with a little playful smile.
“So, I’ve heard.”
“And what does that mean?” Hendery leads the princess a few steps backward and it felt for a few moments as if he was going to pin her against the wall.
“You aren’t the first person who told me that," his eyes meet hers in confidence, "I am a prince,” Hendery smirks a bit, probably the first proper expression Taeha has seen on his face. She wasn’t exactly lying when she told him that he was attractive. His face was strong and defined, but at the same time it was soft and delicate, a combination she doesn’t think she’s ever seen around.
“Shouldn’t we try to get along, I mean we are getting married.” Taeha huffs as he leads her into a little twirl, and then turns her around the opposite way to get her dress untangled.
“Who says we’re getting married?”
“Stop playing dumb, you know it, prince.”
“Do I really know it, princess?” Hendery gets the princess into a dip, forcing the princess to look up at his teasing expression. She notices his eyes glistening with mischief and playfulness, he was nowhere near the rumors about him. There was definitely something more to him than what she’s heard.
The music stops and so did their little display. Both sides bow at each other before turning towards the kings bowing towards them. “In a few months, the princess of a Sui and crowned prince of Hwei will tie the knot!” The king of Sui announces loud and clear. The whole ball goes quiet for a few seconds before soft clapping was heard, it was obvious, no one liked their marriage at all.
“The marriage shall take place in Hwei in several months, everyone is invited! The invitations shall be sent as soon as possible!” King Gui stands beside the king of Sui with a huge smile on his face.
“Told you so,” Taeha picks up the front of her dress and turns around to face her group.
“Looks like, I’m stuck with you,” Hendery bows once more towards the princess and walks away.

15. how do they show their love without words?
“i’m a big hugger,” taeha giggled, thinking back to all the times she would get so happy that she would hug the first person around her. “mostly any sort of contact with someone, but hugging happens the most!”

[ BLUE MOON :: 11:02 PM ! ]
“oooh se4sons!” jangmi laughed, looking over at the rest of the girls to gauge their reaction.
“i love their concept!” taeha burst out before anyone could get another word in. “like each member being a season, i just think that’s so cool!”
najoo nodded in agreement, “plus their songs are all really good!”
jinri smiled, though she rolled her eyes at the two members who were always far too nice. “their songs are good, but yui kind of scares me a bit, like a i wouldn’t want to get on her bad side, you know?”
jangmi nods at the younger girl. “kiko seems really cute and sweet, though!”
all the girls turns towards della, expecting a reply from the younger. feeling all eyes on her she looked up from the nails she was picking at, a confused look on her face.
“what?”
“se4sons? how do you feel about them?” najoo replies, her voice light and sweet.
“who’s se4sons again?”
“do you remember honey bunch?” taeha asks while della just nods. “well, like most of the members are from that group.”
“ohhh,” della replied, finally recognizing the name. “well, i mean good for them for still being idols after the whole honey bunch mess, i guess, but i don’t really know much about them.”

FIGHTS !
SUMMARY :: In which Jangmi finally confronts Najoo. CHARACTERS :: Moon Jangmi, Kim Najoo WORDS :: 1.2K WARNINGS :: swearing, fighting ( if i missed anything let me know ! )
Jangmi let out a tired sigh as she tapped her foot against the floor. Talk to Najoo, talk to Najoo. The words kept flowing through her mind and she wanted nothing more than to push the conversation she was about to have back, but she knew she couldn’t do that, things were getting too out of hand.
So, there Jangmi sat in the small living room of their cramped dorm, tapping her foot anxiously as she waited for Najoo to come out of her single room, ready for her weekly escapades with a boy they all knew nothing about. It wasn’t like she wanted to have this conversation with the slightly older girl, but there was nothing Jangmi could do anymore, and the thought frustrated her. Even Taeha, bright, sweet Taeha, was starting to get fed up with Najoo.
The sound of Najoo’s door opening was the only thing in the normally bustling dorm. Though, it shouldn’t have surprised Jangmi with the fact that Della and Taeha were spending time with their boyfriends, while Jinri sat alone in her studio, pretending like Hongjoong was much farther away than just on the other side of a small wall. Najoo made her way down the hallway, her red hair still tied back in the tight ponytail she had for their stage earlier that day, barely sparing her a glance as she made her way to the door.
“Najoo, do you have a minute?” Jangmi breaks the silence in the dorm, Najoo looking back to her, her eyes wide.
“Um,” the older girl starts, looking around for her shoes. “I kind of have to be somewhere soon-”
“I’ll be quick,” she interrupts, not letting Najoo give out an excuse to get out of this conversation.
The older girl just let out a loud sigh, stopping in her attempt to find her shoes and crossing her arms over her chest. She said nothing to Jangmi, just raising an eyebrow at the younger, leaning more on one side, her face looking nothing but annoyed.
Jangmi had to stop herself from rolling her eyes at the older, standing up from her stop on the couch to face the girl in front of her.
“I just wanted to ask how you were doing,” Jangmi stated, shrugging her shoulders.
Najoo looked nothing close to convinced, her raised eyebrow rising even higher, something Jangmi didn’t even realize could happen. “You stopped me from leaving because you wanted to ask how I was doing?” her voice was cautious and Jangmi couldn’t blame her, the two barely talked to each other.
“Yeah,” Jangmi started, shoving her hands in the pockets of her jeans, looking anywhere blue Najoo’s cold eyes. “Some of the girls just said you have been acting different and-”
“There it is,” Najoo scoffed, cutting her off, rolling her eyes as she turned to look for her shoes once more.
“Is it bad that the girls are worried about you?”
Najoo didn’t even spare her a glance, digging through the cabinet by the door. “It’s bad that you are only using this as some sort of way to prove you can be a good leader or something.”
The words hit Jangmi like a freight train. She wasn’t trying to prove she was some great leader, Jangmi, in fact, wanted to be anything but the leader, especially in situations like this. Jangmi has long since resigned herself to being seen as some mediocre leader in the eyes of everyone around her, it’s not that she minded, though, as long as they were able to continue making music.
“This isn’t some dig at you not being the leader,” Jangmi started, crossing her arms over her chest. “The girls are starting to get worried because you aren’t acting like yourself, and hell, I’m starting to get worried too.”
“So, first you guys want me to live a little, but not that I am, something this wrong?” Najoo finally looked back at the younger, her face uninterested. “Make up your mind.”
“There’s a difference between living a little bit and being reckless, but you probably don’t understand the difference because you thought what we were doing was reckless.”
Jangmi knew it was petty, she knew she should be the bigger person in this situation, but she couldn’t help the way that Najoo’s behavior was making her blood boil. She didn’t care if Najoo made jabs at her, hell, she probably would have agreed to them, but for her to completely dismiss the other girls' concerns made her so much more upset.
Najoo just rolled her eyes. “Fuck off, Jangmi, you’re only worried because I’m not doing your job for you anymore.”
“No, I was worried because someone I’m supposed to be close to was acting strange enough that other people were starting to get concerned,” Jangmi told the older, watching as she completely dismissed every word that was thrown at her. “But, since you want to bring up the leader shit so bad, yeah, I was worried because you’re doing some reckless shit that is going to end all of our careers before they even start.”
The career thing had been bugging her since the beginning, but she knew it was a low blow. Najoo had always been so concerned with making sure their careers were going to be pristine, she even broke up with her boyfriend so there was no chance of her getting into a dating scandal, but she, for some reason, couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that what she was doing was far more reckless than any of the other girls. All Jangmi wanted was for her to understand, just a bit.
“None of you seemed to care when it was Jinri hooking up with Hongjoong, or Della dating literally anybody with legs,” Najoo shrugged, crossing her arms over her chest.
“You don’t need to bring the other girls into this when we’re talking about you,” Jangmi told the girl, her voice low and warning. She wasn’t going to let Najoo talk shit about the other members just because she was pissed at Jangmi for bringing this up. “You do know that none of the girls were doing any of this shit in plain sight, right? Della and Yeosang haven’t been on a date outside of their dorms for their entire relationship and Jinri and Hongjoong are always in either of their studios. So, no, none of us had a problem with them being normal young women, and she should have to have a problem with what you’re doing, but in this career, one dating scandal can put it all down the drain. What you’re doing is reckless because you’re parading this relationship around in public, just waiting to get caught.”
Jangmi felt like she was explaining things to a child, though she could tell from the look on Najoo’s face, she could tell everything she said went in one ear and out the other.
“Are you done?” Najoo broke the silence after a long minute. “Because I have to go and parade my relationship around in public.”
Jangmi just let out a sigh, bringing one of her hands up to rub at her temple. “Just remember to be back before our performance tomorrow.”
“Will do,” Najoo replied, her voice laced with nothing but sarcasm as she turned, walking out of the dorm, leaving Jangmi in nothing but eerie quiet.

they appeared on many variety shows during this era, the most notable being weekly idol
they had lots of vlives during promotions
they also had lots of blue moon cast episodes go up during this time
jinri was also brought on as a special mc on music core for one day of their promotions
FACTS !
the album charted on the gaon album charts at #12 and they sold 90,000 albums
the girls seemed to really enjoy this comeback
fans, however, noticed that things seemed to be a bit off with najoo and many questioned it, but never received a straight answer as to what was up with that
they also noticed that there seemed to be a bit of tension between some of the girls, but they were all quick to play it off
they were nominated for their first win !!! which made all of the girls super happy during this era
fans noticed della interacting with all of the other girls more and more this comeback ( their personally favorites were 99 line and della and taeha ! )
jangmi started to really step up as the leader during this time and the fans loved it ( many compilations videos of jangmi being the ‘best’ leader popped up during this era )
their weren’t many blueteez interactions this era because the boys weren’t promoting at this time which made the raretinys a little bit sad
jangmi and jinri had writing credits on all the songs on the mini album
they also worked together to produce liar and jinri produced really on her own
these were their first songs written without any outside help and the girls are really proud of them
there were many hints during this comeback of the girls getting a new member in the following comebacks ( from hidden figures in the music videos to the girls leaving a bit of a space between them like there should be another member ) and fans went wild with the thought of ot6 blue moon
there were MANY twitter threads and videos made on the topic
it got so bad that even some articles were written about the topic and kq did nothing to deny the rumors

CUTE MOMENTS BETWEEN ATEEZ AND BLUE MOON THAT MAKE THE FANS GO CRAZY !
THE ICONIC HONGRI VLIVE MOMENT !
on jinri’s first solo vlive she was excitedly in her studio talking to the fans when she heard a loud thump on the wall of her studio
her mouth dropped open and she turned to the fans who were flooding the comments
‘oh my god what is he doing over there!’
she knocked on the wall doing the beginning of the mario theme and he responded with a large bang to finish it
jinri laughed and went back to talking to the fans for a bit but she heard another knock not long after that
she got up and went to the door, keeping her’s open with her foot while she opened hongjoong’s door and talked to him for about a minute before she closed the door and returned to her seat
when the fans went crazy in the comments asking what was happening she just shrugged saying ‘song writing’s hard sometimes’
fans have no idea what really happened and still spam both hongjoong and jinri’s vlives with questions about it
THE MOONS GETTING EXCITED TO SEE ATEEZ PERFORM !
in one of the blue moon cast episodes that aired near the beginning of the girl’s promotions they could be seen rushing back to their waiting room after their performance
they quickly gathered around the monitor in the room, waiting as the hosts announced the next group to perform
as soon as ateez’s name was said the girls started to cheer loudly
the performance began the girls were super into it watching it and kept complimenting the boys, sometimes they would clown them when they would try to look sexy in front of the camera
they would often times be seen recreating their dance moves and joking around
‘do we look like that on stage?’
‘oh god i hope not!’
jokes only
but in all seriousness they were super excited to see them performing and it was really cute
they even complimented them as they were walking back to their waiting room
THE ATEEZ BOYS GETTING EXCITED TO SEE BLUE MOON PERFORM !
ateez were getting ready to preform when they dropped everything to watch the girlies perform during the beginning of their promotions
they all seemed so happy to see the girls performing on stage finally
hongjoong even told the camera that they felt like proud older brothers to them
they mentioned how they had been seeing them work hard and get ready for their debut for so long and it was great to see them performing
but of course it wouldn’t be complete without some teasing
they loved teasing the girls for very little things
they even teased them when they came back from their performance telling them that they messed up some things
the girls quickly caught on playfully fighting them
this was one of the moments that made fans notice that they were like real siblings
ATEEZ BEING LOUD !
the girls were backstage and they were complaining about having their waiting room right next to ateez because they were loud
they mentioned that they hated practicing at the same time because they could never get anything done since they were so loud
( all lovingly of course )
as if on cue the boys started being very loud in their own waiting room causing all the girls to stop what they were saying to hear all of them
they decided to mess with them by knocking on the wall that connected them and received many knocks back from the boys
it turned into a full blown battle between them where they would knock a tune and the other group would finish it
it went on for a very long time and their managers had to finally get them to stop so they could actually get ready to perform
there are videos of the battle on both of their channels and many fans have edited together
MAIN VOCAL BABIES !
during many vlives both jongho and taeha get asked if they ever wanted to collab with each other
the questions were often ignored, but taeha eventually took pity on the fans and answered
‘i love jongho’s voice, honestly i have no clue if we could collab, but i’d love the opportunity’
fans went crazy in the comments about it and she just laughed saying that they act like the two barely know each other
‘he’s my friend! i see him all the time!”
the fans continued to go crazy but taeha eventaully found some new questions to answer
the fans continued to spam jonho’s comments after that vlive asking if he wanted to collab with taeha
he eventually said that he was watching that vlive and was surprised that she brought it up at all, but told the fans that he would love to do a cover or something with taeha in the future
there haven’t really been more updates, but fans are really hopeful that they will collab with each other in the future
99 LINE ANTICS !
there was one vlog were della and jinri met up with the 99 line of ateez backstage at a music show
they came up with a whole plan to scare the other members of their groups when they came out to look for them
they spent a lot of time fucking around for while they waited for the other members to get concerned
it was honestly a mess and many of the fans couldn’t understand half of what they were saying
many fans liked to joke that they all shared one braincell ( which is probably very much true )
eventually the groups came looking for them and they all hid and scared them
najoo and hongjoong got the most scared out of all of them and it was kind of anticlimactic since they all had to leave right afterwards
but the fans really enjoyed the 99 line interacting
[ THAT’S JUST A SMALL LIST AND MANY FANS HOPE TO SEE EVEN MORE MOMENTS IN THE FUTURE ! ]
