Happy Blorsday! If your OCs were a flavor, which ones would they be?
--@oh-no-another-idea
Thanks for the ask, Cass!
Hmm, I imagine they'd taste like blood, sweat, and fear if someone tried to–oh, wait. That's not right, is it...
Ahem. Let's try again.
I've given a few oc's scents, so that could translate into a flavor, probably.
Alaia- ginger, sweet and spicy.
Serin- cypress and spring rain - less easy to translate into a flavor lol. um. earthy, savory.
Darian- citrus. tangy.
These next two have no scents, so I'm just making this up
Carr- Spicy. Like the kind of spicy that makes your eyes water and your lips burn and you drink milk but it does nothing.
Resh- makes me think of chocolate, so um... sweet and earthy.
#starlit asks#oh-no-another-idea#blorbo blursday#blorsday#are they the same? i think they are#did i do that right?#too late if not i suppose lol

Hi hunter
Alright. Story and blorbo questions. When you're just writing in your head, does the writing ever have a font or do you write visual movie scenes? When you're writing a particular character, is their dialogue a particular color to you, or have a sort of texture?
Sleepy! How do you come up with your questions? I just end up staring at people's askbox until I roll away in fear!
To answer your first question, movie scenes! I have an extremely visual mind, I even think my thoughts in pictures! So when I'm writing, I can see every part of the scene and I have to translate it into words.
For the second question, not really! But the characters themselves have colours, April is green, Ari is red, Aspen is purple, and Mallory is a very dark brown-red like dried blood.
Thank you for your asks!!

Happy Blorsday, Cass!
What's the worst crime / shadiest thing your oc has ever done? Bonus: are they ashamed or proud of it?
Thanks for the ask, Starlit! Happy Blorsday :D
Oh tee hee, let me steeple my fingers together and think! Who has done the worst...
For Velia in Invisible Girl, the worst thing she's done in her history of theft is to willfully take the sought after plans from Antonio with the explicit plan not to give them back. And yeah, she feels terrible about it, constantly doubting herself and dreading their arrival back home where she actually has to follow through or break her resolve.
Worst thing Antonio ever did might have been when he suggested shoving people off the moving train to be crushed under the wheels. And no, he didn't seem at all remorseful. (this from the guy who refuses to shoot his gun towards other people cause he feels conflicted about that) 🙄

You know those videos of feral kittens that are spitting and hissing like their lives depend on it but then immediately give in to being pet and loved on?
That’s Tiger.
Tiger is just a feral kitten.
At no point in the story does he provide any evidence to the contrary.

I’m gonna answer for Thomas (Infinity’s Dragons version) and Gareth.
Thomas has a bad habit of trying to handle everything himself. He picked it up basically by raising himself (Alex did his best but is only 3 years older than he is) and thus, has a subconscious belief that he’s basically on his own and has no one to ask for help. It literally got him killed, so others in his life regard this habit pretty dimly.
Gareth’s bad habit is, when he’s backed into a corner, he runs away. I’ve talked about this a bit before, but he’s a victim of horrific child abuse, at the hands of his stepmother, and severe bullying from his stepmother’s brother. His father is a fucking idiot (sorry Drake, it’s true) so his only escape is to run away, at one point literally, although he’s tried to run away several other times in various other ways. The others in his life, except the select few who know about the abuse, are baffled by this behavior and wish he would stop.
Blorbo Blursday: 7/14/2022
You know what time it is!
Does your character have any habits? Are they good or bad habits? Where did they pick up these habits? What do the people around them think of these habits?

Happy Blorsday! Tell me about the main character of your wip. What makes them the main character, what are their flaws and strengths? How do these drive forward the narrative?
Hi! Thank you for dropping me an ask!
My main project at the moment — GDI — has Romeo. GDI is a spinoff of a novel I finished a bit back, and Romeo was originally not planned, but was added as I wrote the book. I quickly became attached to him and decided that I wanted to write a book about him. He's a deeply flawed character — one that makes poor decisions and do quite bad things, which in turn makes him the black sheep of his family. Really, most of his actions come from a place of protecting his loved ones, but he's a closed book, so most characters don't understand his motives.
He's simultaneously the character that's called when help is needed, and the character that takes the blame when things go south.
As the book is a romance, his issues of always feeling unworthy of love is a big source of conflict in the book.

It’s still blorsday for me or whatever and I think you would like to know that I’ve done some more Silverwood brainstorming ✨
Upon arriving in Cylli as a refugee after his banishment, an ex-warlord of Sreeterin has trouble adjusting to such a different culture, but he deals with it because he figures that few other exiled would drift that way (he wasn’t exactly popular on either side). He doesn’t speak Denki or Common, he can’t catch a break because he can’t get along with anyone, and found himself neck deep in an addiction to whatever alcohol or drugs he can get his hands on.
Fortunately (or unfortunately?) he catches the eye of Calixtus, Lord of a lower house one night…trying to rob the estate. As one does. Calixtus sees this an opportunity, however. The Vekain intruder is strong, handsome, and seems to have magic (rare among the Vekain, so it was easy to abuse). Sounds like a great mate to have…especially for an ambitious lord that seeks to disrupt the current power balance. The Vekain can respect that in a way, and with the promise of being helped with his addiction, agrees to be his mate. Calixtus decides to call him “Ghost”, and he accepts this new name with this new life.
Obviously Cal doesn’t get very far with his ambitions (he and Ghost get super Murdered for some of their plans), but they leave little foundations for their kids and grandkids to build off of later. (How later? Later! I dunno yet! Dunno how to tie them into anything! Haven’t gotten that far!)
Anyways hope this was okay, was fun to brainstorm in as a break from other things lmao.
@magefaery Happy Blorbsday!
No, I love it!
Since the Drezhein are extremely hedonistic and also uniquely resistant to the effects of drugs and alcohol and Cylli is basically party city all the time (unless they're killing each other) it would be a difficult place for a Vekain. Very easy for them to get their hands on things that they shouldn't.
As for how to tie it into the main series of events, Drez live a really long time, so it wouldn't be unusual for the grandkids to get involved with Rona and her revolution.
A lot of the older Drezhein were either taken in by Seilez's charisma or outright killed/oppressed by him but the younger generations haven't exactly had the same experience because of the 'peace treaty' that he managed to sign with humans after Ithea died.
A lot of houses were broken up and the kids were sent to boarding schools which were basically formulated to force them to integrate into Sanirran society (where they also lived under increasingly strict rules). While it's true that Drezhein do live in other countries, the combined efforts of Seliez in Cylli and the Imperial family in the Sanirran Empire would have had a major impact on their population…because their numbers are only in the tens of thousands to begin with.
Rona does need more allies anyway, so if you wanted to, an easy way to move forward would be to have some of the grandkids being set to the same boarding school that she infiltrated and ending up in her inner circle. Or, they could still be in Cylli and help her once she leaves Sanrria and challenges First Lord Seilez directly!
Basically all of Generation 4 is really underdeveloped so there's lots of wiggle room there.
But if you wanted to, it's also totally possible to come up with some other drama that's happening at the same time, since there's always multiple levels of drama going on in Cylli hahahaha

hii!! happy blorsday somethin somethin!
If you could stick any of your ocs in another story, what would they be like? Basically, stick your ocs in an AU of your favorite books/shows/movies/etc and tell us about that version of them!
THANK YOU I LOVE THIS PROMPT 💕💕💕💕
So I have way too many AU’s 😅 but one of my favorites is for my second comfort game series, Fable (specifically 2 and 3)
Will gets to be Sparrow, the main hero who lived on the streets with their big sister until she was shot and killed by Lord Lucien, who tried to kill both of them because one of them was destined to kill him and stop his plans to wipe out the world and start again as its ruler. Fueled by grief, Sparrow/Will fulfills a ten-year-long quest to gather the other three heroes in order to kill Lucien (I don’t have an official stand-in for him). Sparrow/Will becomes the new and beloved monarch of Albion.
Dante gets to be the third of these heroes, Reaver, the arrogant double-crossing pirate with incredible marksmanship. He’s a flirt to everyone, his persona is just to mask the grief of accidentally sacrificing his entire village for immortality, he continues to sacrifice people for their youth because he believes he can’t change, and he’ll backstab anyone to save his own skin.
But there are little clues all around the third game that he had a special connection to Sparrow, and I think that suits Dante perfectly (with a few revisions because yikes on the sacrifice 😅). A snarky scoundrel haunted by his past mistakes, but he finds comfort in Will, as always. They understand each other, even though no one can see why, and Dante maybe even falls for him, but his king ends up dying and he starts building up his walls again.
Sorry for rambling, I’m a huge sucker for the hidden character stuff in this series, especially for Reaver. I mean he put his new house in the place where Sparrow grew up and almost died in, right across the lake from the kingdom where they actually died. There’s just so much angst potential 😅
Okay, I’ll stop for real. Thanks for your patience, have an AU moodboard 🤣😊

Okay look, don't ask how I just have an answer off the bat for this. But Ari is rum and raisin. April is like all of the ice cream mixed in a bowl and it's half-melted into milk.

Hello hello it’s blorsday…
Because I am predictable in my tastes, you got any nasty evil ocs that you can’t help but love? Villains that are just so fun? Or, alternatively, fun to hate?
Hello, hello! Happy Blorbo Blursday!
I really like the antagonist in Dragon's Daughter, but I don't want to reveal who that is at the moment (it's probably not hard to figure out though LOL)
I really like Liel from The Gryphon of Sirray like… Yeah, he is evil, but he's so stylish and smart while he's doing it. He's got a real Look(tm) to him that I appreciate. (A bit of a dandy, kinda extra)
Ashtoret from Magic Black as Knight is so horrible but like…hot? Sorry I'm so gay. I can't help but love her. Again, she has style, she has panache.
Kishar isn't exactly evil, probably, but he is an asshole. He's also a dumbass, and I do kind of feel bad for him. Only kind of tho.
And then there are characters who are technically the protagonists but are also villains like most of the cast of Silverwood and also most of the main cast of Northbound? Keril and Risaul kinda are at least. Sigrid from Temitope too, probably?
As for the "fun to hate", this doesn't have to do with novels but when I was in middle school I made up a character that my friend and I hated so much that we started an entire RP for the sole purpose of killing him off in a horrible way, and that RP lasted for like 5 years LMAO

Hello hello blorsday day once again!
Which of your ocs are the most difficult to write? Complex moral compasses or just out of your wheelhouse? Or maybe they suddenly do something and you go “hey that ruined all my plans”?
Hi!! Happy Blorbo Blursday!
As a general rule I don't have a difficult time writing characters due to moral differences or anything like that but some things pop up:
Kradhi (from Laero) is difficult to write because she experiences depression in a very similar way to me and so it can be ~emotional~
I'm worried about finishing Celestials because I don't know if I can write Seneria and Gheist in a way that matches up with the way I wrote them in the 1st book. (Since it was originally intended to be a standalone book, and I expanded upon it at my roommate's request, sometimes I'm a little bit unsure about the things that I came up with to take place later)
Keril (from Northbound) can be difficult because even I don't entirely know what she wants LMAO
For Silverwood I have a difficult time writing Gavin because he isn't mine and unlike some of the other characters who aren't mine, I didn't have much of a hand in anything about his creation.
As for characters doing unexpected things, it happens all the time! I do very little planning for any book so I come up with most everything on the fly. Most of it will be decided based on how my characters act which can take me by surprise too hahahaha

It’s still technically Blorsday for me!! So I get to ask…
Which of your characters make you happy? Like you think of them or do some writing with them and you just gotta smile?
Happy Blorbo Blursday!
I usually would wait until next week to answer this but this question is so cute! Anyway, it's Gheist!!! I love him, I love him, I love him, he is my precious baby boy! He does make me happy :>

Hehe I am off of work now and I can send you a couple white/silver haired disasters for blorsday or whatever it’s called lmao
First up it’s the one, the only, Saga. I talk about them a lot already but they tick almost all the boxes. Emo? My dude was experimented on and can kill people by touching them of course they’re emo and depressed. Bitchy? I would be too if that were me. Queer? Agenger bisexual legend!! Silver/white hair? Oh you bet, after the stress of dying and being pulled apart. Stupid? Oh. So very stupid. “Jump straight to trying to burn down the world without thinking of other solutions” levels of dumbassery. They don’t use magic exactly but they do have a mutated version of the Rapture where they don’t turn into a monster from it but they can spread the normal version to everyone that touches them :)
I also offer to you the main character from Malediction, Herais! The Witch Queen Bitch herself. Falls more on the manipulative side than the emo side but she does go through it. She’s a pansexual non-binary lady (she/they) who falls for a genderless Archdemon. She’s a very stupid smart person. Can craft intricate, wild spells but can’t communicate a feeling. She’s mean she’s rude she’s unruly she’s obnoxious. They’re so goddamn selfish and up their own ass that they stole a coven’s sacred book of shadows, got cursed for it, and refuses to give it back or break the curse on the written terms to the point they almost DIE.
And picking from my rp characters…Xanthiel doesn’t have white hair exactly, it’s a very dark brown and streaked with silver, but MAN OH MAN what a disaster. Forget being unable to communicate an emotion, this bitch can’t identify an emotion. They’re a pansexual agender angel that is an insufferable WHORE. “Oh no I can’t get back into Heaven and god won’t talk to me even though I did everything asked me, I lost everything, guess I’ll get high and have sex about it.” Idiot. Fool. I hate them I love them.
Honorable white hair character mentions for your consideration: Vex (emotionally oblivious murder rabbit), Skarja (tiny sorcerer), all of the penthos demigods (their hair turns white with age), wraith (a weird changeling), Rhys Amadeus (a literally lovesick witch), Aditya (angry assassin)
First of all, I love them all and am applying for godparent status immediately. Secondly, I love the way you describe them and some of these literally made me laugh out loud.
I remember reading about Saga before and being very interested! Sounds like they have a lot going on which I love and appreciate. And, as you said, they tick almost all the boxes. Looking forward to reading more about them in the future!
Herais is another fantastic edition, I love a stupid smart person!! Wiley and bitchy magic users, my beloved. Too stubborn for her own good? Fantastic. We love to see it. Also kind of feel like I would love to see them hanging out with my character Ithea which would be a train wreck, but would probably be a hilarious train wreck.
Xanthiel is the one that made me laugh the most, would absolutely love to know more! I can tell you right now if they were a character on a show, I would know immediately, as soon as they walked on screen, that they would be the one I would love the most.
You have such good taste in character creation, I love it, please feel free to tell me more information about any of the honorable mentions!
