BEAST е своеобразна експедиция в света на опакото и странното, в света на зверовете и чудовищата.

Чрез техниките тъфтинг и ръчно шиене при изработването на килими, Rosie представя специално създадени за изложбата текстилни произведения. Персонажите-страшилища, напомнящи образите на легендарни, a понякога и фолколрни същества, са своеобразно продължение на работата й. Чрез тях, тя ни прави част от едно пътешествие, преминавайки през библейски и митични реалии, преплетени с феми пауър поп хорър стилистика.

Реални или плод на въображнието, зловещи, феминизирани, но все пак познати и близки, те ни напомнят за света и неговата отсъстваща хармония по един мек и пухкав начин.

* Изложбата е част от годишната програма на КО-ОП и се реализира с подкрепата на Национален фонд “Култура”.

BEAST is a unique exploration into the world of the bizarre and the strange, the world of beasts and monsters.

Using the tufting technique of rug making, Rosie presents multi-coloured textile works. The characters remind of scarecrows, evoke images of legendary and sometimes folklore creatures, and are a continuation of her existing body of work. Through these images, she makes us part of a journey, passing through biblical and mythical realities interwoven with femme fatale pop horror stylings.

Real or products of the imagination, eerie, feminized, yet familiar and close, they remind us of the world and its absent harmony in a soft and fluffy way.

*The exhibition is realized with the support of the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria.

‘During a 1 month residency in Beijing, Blood Becomes Water worked on a publication that explores the sensitivity of Chinese people to tetraphobia. The project showcases the fear of number 4 as a thought related to the similar by sound in Chinese, word for “death”. The concept presents number 4 as a part of all lucky & unlucky numbers, and reflects on the fact that death could be found everywhere if you think about it, but at the same time it is inevitable part of life, just like 4 cannot be excluded from all numbers.’

Yesterday, "The Setlist Collection" has become part of the archive, and the catalog of "St. Cyril and Methodius" National Library in Sofia and “Ivan Vazov” National Library in Plovdiv. This is our first publication entering in national records and marks our official registration as a publisher.

Работилницата ще запознае участниците с историята и основите на флип книгите, ще покаже примери на успешни проекти и ще разгледа възможностите за използване на тази техника в съвременния дигитален свят и социалните медии.
