Doing a big large yap sesh about Apollo (my Block Tales OC) cuz I need to get all my lore abt him out or I will explode

Demo 1:

During Demo 1/Chapter 1, Apollo was confused how he ended up in the world he did, separated from his brother Pest, however nonetheless he was determined to help and pressed on for the sake of those he was helping and for his brother.

After defeating Cruel King, he felt horrible when he found out that CK has a daughter (another one of my oc's), and hence decided to retreat for some time, finding a way to visit Pest and spending a couple weeks w him to cool down after it.

Demo 2:

Good lord, when I tell you Apollo was lowkey crushing HARDDDDD on Griefer-

Never actually wanted to hurt Griefer, he only fought him thinking that it would stall time so he could get the Venomshank without any need for violence, however when Griefer turned into the Bubonic Plant, he knew there was no other way.

He was relieved when he found out Griefer was safely recovering in the hospital, however he felt far too guilty to visit him, so he just sent him an anonymous get well card and some fruits.

Demo 3:

Sure, Apollo loves spooky shit, but when I tell you that getting the Ghostwalker TRAUMATIZED him, I mean it. Especially the Mind World part and being tricked before having to fight Hatred.

He had insomnia for weeks and had to stay with Pest for a while and take melatonin. However, he did also go and smooth things over with Ellis (the aformentioned daughter of Cruel King) and Griefer, and now the three of them are friends (Apollo still has a gay lil crush on Griefer though).

Like, damn. If you need half a day to explain why you hate a game just go read a book or touch some grass.

Even the friggin' twitter Tales community is clowning on that video, and that fandom over there is an absolute cesspool.

I'm sick and tired of this fandom's constant hating on this game. It gets way too much hyperbolic hate and criticism than it deserves, especially towards its story. Even some certain "fans" have been shitting on Arise for its writing and straight couples and even called the game "forgettable and random to those who played it" in that rant video's comments section.

Y'all haters are annoying as hell and have become exactly like the obnoxious nostalgia-blind purists over at the Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda fandoms. I can't wait until the next mainline Tales entry comes out so you'll move on to hating that game.

Guys how did we cycle back to mean-spirited or passive-aggressive comments on fanworks not only being normalized but also as something people should accept lying down for literally any reason? If I wanted unnecessary concrit, I’d go read passive aggressive sticky notes left on the office fridge. It is rude to randomly critique or downright insult someone’s hard work done out of love for a fandom, actually!

People are REALLY starting to use the Homophobia card now for anyone who doesn’t like Zoe Lee??? Seriously people, It’s 2023. I thought that we’ve been over this…

A character’s sexuality does NOT define their character.

Are there homophobic fans in the fandom? I don’t doubt it. Are there bigoted fans who mercissesly and rapidly bash Zoe to death? Again, don’t doubt it. However….Zoe was disliked BEFORE she was confirmed Queer, so just because she’s Queer now, she’s free from criticism???

That’s not how works.

If you want to block me for thinking this way or “being a Homophobe”, then fine, but just so you know:

I’M a queer woman (in which I technically don’t owe you an explanation on, but will for the purpose of this post).

They’re other characters in the show who are queer and they tend to be liked or respected more than Zoe.

Again, Zoe was disliked BEFORE she was confirmed Queer.

People need to learn the difference between Homophobia and criticism. They’re not the same thing. This is NOT up for discussion, if you decide to come to my blog and label me as Homophobic just because I’m criticizing a character that so happens to be Queer, even if that has NOTHING to do with her being Queer and has EVERYTHING to do with her character and how she was introduced, then you’ll be blocked.
