I think one of the reasons why Blink Twice is so great is because YOU KNOW the twist in a way? Like the trigger warning at the very beginning of the film tells you bout the violence thats coming, but it doesn't take away from the story. Instead you're sitting there waiting, and waiting, and waiting and then the needle drops and its still a shocker. Kinda a la The Sixth Sense of The Others, when you know the twist already, but its still re-watchable just from the story and skill of the filmmaker

This year’s horror/thriller films have been outstanding (for the most part). Longlegs was fantastic. Trap was smart and fun. Strange Darling was unique and great. The scariest part of Alien: Romulus was having to run down a stupid long hallway just to make it to the bathroom in time. It came pretty close.
(Jokes aside, Romulus was gorgeous but overall just a disappointing rehash of pretty much the entire Alien franchise.)
I also saw Cuckoo (which was pretty good!) except that my theater didn't have a poster for it... sad! Incidentally, I didn’t think I’d fall in love with a movie this year after seeing Longlegs, but it happened. Blink Twice is one of the best movies of the past few years.
It’s been great to be a part of all the quality and variety in horror this year. It’s also fun to see people branch out and kick ass in new areas. Giovanni Ribisi worked as cinematographer on Strange Darling and Zoe Kravitz co-wrote and directed Blink Twice. I hope to God they continue doing what they're doing.

Today I went to the movies to go see both The Crow and Blink Twice before my evening door shift started at Regal Cinemas, and they're both really good.

Blink Twice (2024)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Blink Twice has several scenes that feature camera flashes. These flashes are singular and never strobing, but occasionally happen very suddenly and without warning. In almost every instance, there is some warning of these effects as someone brings out an instant delivery-style camera.
All of the camera work in this film is either stationary or very smooth.
Flashing Lights: 2/10. Motion Sickness: 1/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: As stated in the trigger warning at the beginning of the film, there are scenes of intense sexual violence. On top of this, there are also scenes of gaslighting, animals being killed on-screen, graphic bloody violence, and one scene with the graphic sound of vomiting.
BRANDON'S REVIEW: Zoë Kravitz writes and directs like an experienced professional in her debut in these roles. This film is an intense and deeply disturbing thriller. With echoes of Get Out and Infinity Pool, it is not for the faint of heart. Although the antagonists are left with a satisfying ending, the journey to get there is an absolute horror show that Zoë Kravitz masterfully takes us through. The exposition is handled in a very modern way, making it feel more natural and less like a movie. The plot-twisting reveals may feel abrupt, but it is obvious that this is intentional, and it works for the film that has been made. Grade: A.
We applaud Zoë Kravitz for including an on-screen warning at the beginning of this film about the sexual violence, and we hope to continue contributing to efforts to normalize such warnings before beginning to watch a new film.
