MaskFace page 1 new comic but for some reason I’m not pleased with how it turned out I’m so sorry if it’s confusing I’m so bad at writing scenes 💀
Tumblr media
next Yeah… I’m hyperfixating on this AU idea and I NEED to share it. It doesn’t actually mostly focus on Donnie, (mostly Leo and anther character >:) but this was the best opening I could think of. And if any of you still remember the lost and found comic- it’s paused as of now (I really don’t have time to spend 9 hours per page)
also sorry if the last joke is confusing but my stupid brain finds it funny when the turtles relax and wear more clothes- and like he takes the jacket off to gear up oh my gosh I’m such an idiot

another reason i think that xie lian felt an instant connection on the ox cart is because he and hua cheng both grew up in xianle.
there are maybe 4 people still alive that grew up in that culture. based on my own experience, you can pick up on things like accent, cadence, references, and humor that suggest a person is from the same place as you without consciously noticing it. that sense of comfort and similarity probably played into their instant chemistry.

Hoshina who's still stuck up on his first love from 15 years ago despite being married. Don't get him wrong, his wife is aware of your circumstance. Ever since they got betrothed by their clans, the two agreed to try to make things work. But after a few months in, it was clear to the both of them that their relationship was never gonna exceed anything platonic. They held mutual respect for one another and got along fine...just not in the way a married couple did. If anything, she was extremely grateful that she was able to escape her hell of a family, to the point of even dedicating her life to him. Any outsider could immediately assume that they were nothing more than friends. Heck, even their families weren't oblivious to this fact.
It wasn't until he heard his long time, mutual acquaintance mention your name that he finally got the idea to end things with his wife. That damned acquaintance just couldn't keep mouth shut— talking about how he met (Y/n) again about a month or two ago. He wasn't slick about his intentions, and Hoshina could see that crystal clear.
Then his mind drifts back to his and your memories together. He tries to keep his cool and puts on a poker face as a tinge of rage bubbles inside him. Did this guy seriously think that he's forgetten about you? Even if it HAS been 15 years, how could Soshiro forget about his first, greatest, and only love like that? He silently curses his acquaintance for bringing up your name.
As the day ended, Soshiro goes back house. To his house of 15 years and to his wife of 15 years. He wonders how things ended up like this.
He has a lovely wife who thinks of him as if he were her world. I mean, who wouldn't? He did save her after all. A tinge of guilt spreads across his heart for the one whom he had promised his faithfulness for all eternity. Yet here he was, thinking about the girl he left behind years ago. He tries to make his wife happy, he really does. But how much faith can one really offer in a loveless marriage?
He sits there at the dinner table with his wife, his thoughts beginning to drown out his wife's talking.
His sweet (Y/n). He wonders how his life would've been if his family hadn't found out about her. If his father hadn't found the ring he had hidden in his room, along with the letter he planned to leave once they successfully eloped. Maybe it would have been you sitting in front of him right now—eating dinner and talking about how your day went.
He was so in lost in thought that he didn't even notice that his wife stopped talking minutes ago. He lifted his head and found her already starring at him. He knew that look. That look that said everything he needed to hear and answered every question that he needed answered. She'd known about you immediately after they'd both agreed to remain platonic. She knew then and there that he will never be hers—not when he spoke of you as if you were HIS world, the only woman in his eyes.
"I'm sorry."
Those were his last words he ever said to his ex-wife before he booked a train to the city you lived in. At least that acquaintance of his was finally good for something. He huffs at the thought.

headcanon that after percy and jason pray to her, hestia blesses them with a child as reward for strengthening her hearth by uniting the greeks and romans. they name her ember and if you ran a dna test on her she would show up as both of theirs genetically. when she is first brought to camp half blood as an infant she's instantly claimed by hestia, who has happily stepped into more of a godmother role, but poseidon and zeus also claim her as a legacy by flashing their own, smaller symbols above her head. 9-year old estelle is ecstatic to be an aunt, sally and paul are thrilled to be grandparents, and percy and jason just love their little family so dam much

Oh my god I woke up this morning and my Stardew Valley meta post had almost 150 notes????? Hello?????????? Anyways I started writing this last night because @moon-is-pretty-tonight left nice tags on the original so thank you so much!!
We know from the starting scenes of the game that the farmer's grandfather loved Stardew Valley. So why did he leave? Pelican Town is a good place to grow old; George and Evelyn are just fine. It's a fine place to raise a kid, but maybe he just wanted to raise his child closer to real schools and other children.
Or maybe, just maybe, he understood.
Was there a day when he was in his thirties where he looked at his friends and realized they weren't like him? That he could run faster than them, work longer, explore deeper into the hidden places of the valley?
Was there a day when he went to the wizard to ask him for help, for knowledge if nothing else? Did he learn then that his family was different? Special? Chosen? And how did he react? He couldn't possibly raise a child in the valley if they would be as strange and fey as him. He had to leave. There was no other way.
But years later, on his deathbed, did he regret that choice?
Is that why he gave the farmer the letter?
Is that why they went back home?
When the farmer steps off the bus that first day, the valley is still on the cusp of winter, just barely tipping over into spring. The flowers are starting to bloom, but a chill still hangs in the air. As soon as the farmer's boots touch the soil there's a change. The air gets warmer. The trees get greener. Not by too much, not all at once, but it changes.
The junimos watch the farmer as they do their work. They're new to farming, but take to it with frightening speed; their first batch of crops is perfect. None of the townsfolk tell them that parsnips don't normally grow in less than a week, that cauliflowers don't grow to be ten feet tall, that fairies don't visit when the sun goes down and grow potatoes and beans and tulips overnight. The junimos talk amongst themselves in their strange, wild language, and agree: this is the one. They're back. The valley recognizes its own, even when they've left for a generation. The farmers have come home.
Things change fast in the valley. The community center, empty and decrepit for so many years, is rejuvenated. (Lewis says it was abandoned only a few weeks after the farmer's grandfather left. Strange coincidence, he says, that it both came and went with the farmer's family.) The mines and the quarry, similarly abandoned, are explored for the first time in ages. The town becomes cleaner, brighter, more vibrant, happier.
And it is happier. Not just the environment, but the people. It's the talk of the town for weeks when Haley does her first closet purge. Leah's art show in the town square is a huge success. Shane's smiling for the first time since he moved to the valley. All of them, when asked, say it's all thanks to the farmer.
People love to ask why Lewis didn't fix the community center on his own. Why Willy never repaired the boat to ginger island. Why Abigail or Marlon never went down to fix the elevator in the mines, or why Clint didn't fix the minecarts.
But isn't it so much more interesting to ask how those things were there in the first place? How they got so broken down? If the stories the townspeople tell are true, the valley was once a beautiful place, flourishing and full of life; why did that change? When did it change?
Was it when the farmer's grandfather, the locus of the valley, its chosen representative, left town?
And if so, what happens when the farmer comes back?

I think it would be really funny if fashion trends in ghost city mirrored the style of their beloved shapeshifter chengzhu’s most recent appearance. Whatever he wears? That’s what’s IN right now. It would also be funny if they always got it like. Slightly wrong. Chengzhu is wearing a long coat today! Long clothing MUST be the most fashionable. If your coat isn’t down the whole block, it isn’t in! The longer the better! Chungzhu is wearing hoop earrings today? Of course big rings are all the rage these days. Put them on your ears, your nose, your fingers, hell put them on your whole body! On your house! On your dog! The bigger the better! Look, he even gave a ring to grandunc—I mean his wife!!! If you don’t have one, you’re gonna look SO last week. Chungzhu’s wearing black today? Of course that’s the best color. Didn’t you know? If you aren’t wearing black, you’ll probably explode by at least tomorrow I think. That’s what I heard, anyway. Is it what? True? Hey don’t shoot the messenger, that’s just how it is. “I thought he was last seen wearing white and a ponytail” where did you hear that? And they heard it was blue? Black was last week? That can’t be right! Whatever….both is fine. I’m not taking any chances and you shouldn’t either.

Actually, while I'm here, let me also briefly touch on the 33 officials and Mu Qing on the mountain and what my view on it is.
Mu Qing wasn't completely wrong. That doesn't mean he didn't hurt and help humiliate Xie Lian, that doesn't mean that he shouldn't ask for forgiveness or that he's innocent. Just because your actions aren't unjustified, it doesn't mean they also aren't hurtful.
After the first banishment, they were desperate, poor, couldn't get a decent job and the King was sick. The situation was so bad Xie Lian even tried to rob someone and then got so drunk his stupor lasted for two days. Mu Qing, as said before, had to also take care of his sick mother on top of everything else. Now he finally found himself in a very good position thanks to which he could make enough money in an honest way to help both himself, his mother, Xie Lian, Feng Xin, the King and the Queen. Should he have put everything at risk now that they finally had a chance at getting back on their feet?
“But I wanted to solve our current problems before considering anything else! Your parents and my mother, the three of us, who knows how long we would have had to struggle in this quagmire! But I thought that if I went back first, maybe we’d still have a chance—”
There was no winning for Mu Qing, had he sided with Xie Lian everyone would've also turned on him, not only putting his position in danger but also achieving nothing: the 33 officials would not have backed down, the only way to make sure the situation wouldn't get worse was for Xie Lian to leave.
“It wasn’t me!” Mu Qing exclaimed. “I didn’t hit His Highness—I only asked him to leave. Other than that, I didn’t say anything harsh, and I didn’t move against him! They were determined to take over that spiritual land, and it would’ve kept escalating if you didn’t leave!”
After the whole ordeal went down, Mu Qing immediately run after Xie Lian and offered his help because, while he knew why it had to be done, he also wanted to make sure Xie Lian was fine and probably felt guilty.
Suddenly, a hand was extended to him. Xie Lian blinked slowly at it, and his eyes followed the arm up. It was Mu Qing again. He was standing next to Xie Lian with his hand outstretched, looking a little ashen. A long moment later, he asked stiffly, “Are you all right?”
Nonetheless, he kept his hand outstretched. “Come on.”
After Xie Lian refused his help, Mu Qing still found where they were staying and offered his help even if he knew he could've gotten in trouble because his goal was to help both his mother and Xie Lian with the money he had making.
Seeing Xie Lian so quiet, Mu Qing said softly, “I heard you need medicine. I’ll think of a way to get some later.” “Sounds good,” Feng Xin said. “I’ll give my thanks, then. We do need all that stuff right now. Heavenly officials can’t give mortals private gifts, so you be careful too.” Then he shuffled over to Xie Lian’s side and whispered, “I’m pretty surprised that he actually came back to help. I’m the one who judged him wrong. In any case—”
Mu Qing knew what he did hurt Xie Lian and felt bad and guilty and not only apologised but even let Xie Lian take his anger out on him
Mu Qing bowed his head. “I’m sorry.” They’d known Mu Qing for so many years, but this was the first time they ever heard him say those words—it was also his first genuine apology.
“Yes! I was wrong, I admit it, and I apologize!”
[Xie Lian] lost his temper and started throwing the sacks at Mu Qing. White rice spilled across the ground and made a mess of Mu Qing. Nonetheless, the black-clad man only raised an arm to block and held back from making any further move.
Would the moral and right thing have been to stand by Xie Lian side even if it meant making everything harder? Yes. That would've been the most upstanding thing to do, what Hua Cheng would've done had he found himself in such a situation. But that's not how Mu Qing's brain works, how he thinks, and in his own way he was just trying to make the best of a fucked up situation. He found a way to help Xie Lian and his mother and thought that that was the thing he had to hold onto so that they could all get back on their feet. He knew Xie Lian had resorted to trying to rob someone and now he had a way to make sure that something like that wouldn't have to happen again. How could he let that slip through his fingers?
Again, this is about how part of the fandom treats Mu Qing and not Xie Lian, who at the time was mentally unwell and couldn't think straight because of all of his trauma, pain and fear and who was just humiliated and felt betrayed and abandoned by one of his closests friends.
I think when it comes to Mu Qing and how the fandom treats him this is what summarises it best:
"So why can’t you accept hardship as an excuse when it comes to me?”
For everyone else everyone makes excuses and easly understands why the character did what they did, but Mu Qing desperate actions taken during a period of hardship and pain are always villainised and contorted into something ugly and mean.
His actions had hurtful consequences but he had good intentions and immediately went to apologise and make up for it. I understand why Xie Lian at the time and his state wouldn't want to forgive him and told him to leave, but I don't understand why the fandom acts as if Mu Qing is a terrible and unforgivable person who enjoyed hurting and humiliating Xie Lian and only used used him before abandoning him.

I'm beginning to realise that a major reason why I woke up in the middle of August and was like "I REALLY DESPERATELY URGENTLY FINALLY NEED TO DRIVE AROUND ICELAND FOR TWO WEEKS ON MY OWN" (apart from, you know, seeing Iceland) is that this will be the first time since Ireland that I will completely on my own schedule and on my own and off to clock and not available and it's really interesting that the people in my life who are the most like 'why would you want to go to Iceland on your own, there's nothing there, that sounds boring, it's empty and cold' are the ones I most need a break from. It's you, the stressor is you.

Hua Cheng with Ban Yue: This is gege's daughter, so she is my daughter, too. I will take care of her and treat her like a princess. She's been through a lot. Let's tuck her carefully into this pickle jar so that she'll be safe and protected.
Hua Cheng with Lang Qianqiu: Lol I'm going to turn you into a little budaoweng doll and flick you around. That's what you get for accusing Dianxia of senseless murder. Get your facts straight before you go around causing trouble, you fool.

Oh, you're looking at my screen while I'm on my phone in public? Not my fault, but may your eyes be blessed by the pictures, videos and gifs of men making out, making questionable decisions, snuggling and giving each other orgasms that make your eyes mist up with heat. May your eyes feast on this art and aesthetic.
