this ask made me do a cartwheel in my room. i'm being so serious.

charles starts with longer hair, kind of like a '60s Jane Birkin look, and then she lets max cut it for her and her bangs get a little fucked and everything goes way too short. the goal was a classic french bob... the execution was more manic pixie.

max has long hair that she can't really be bothered to deal with initially. after they get closer, she lets charles put it in two braids to keep it out of the way while she's killing and eating people <3

max's haircut actually plays super heavily into my characterization of her over the course of this fic (her relationship to her dad, how he views and treats her, her performance of femininity, etc.) but i don't want to spoil everything so... i will close my mouth. the important thing to note is that she ends up with short hair. maybe even a buzzcut... very quintessential butch.

Her hair is long, but not intentionally. More like she forgot to cut it—or simply didn’t want to—and this was the byproduct. Charles’ mother would kill her if she ever came home looking like that. Charles thinks that’s why she likes it.

“My mom is the only person who’s ever cut my hair.” Charles says, fingers tracing the bite marks on Max’s torso. “I think I’d let you do it, though—”

“Really?” Max’s eyes are twice their usual size, staring down at Charles with an indiscernible expression. 

“Yeah, I mean, if you wanted…” She trails off, focus pulled by the way Max sits up on her forearms, taking Charles and her body with her. 

There’s a painful silence, and Charles doesn’t know if she’s messed up or said something wrong. She can’t always tell, with Max. There’s a part of her that knows it’ll never get easier. 

“You’d let me?” Max’s voice registers barely above a whisper, heavy exhales pushing the pout of her lips out further. Charles nods, staring up at Max unblinking, words all caught in her throat like she’s forgotten her English entirely. Max reaches down to draw them out herself.

Her mouth is hot, wet, and open. Max kisses like she wants to eat Charles alive, and Charles knows that she could, but doesn’t. It makes her whole body burn whenever she thinks about it.

Hello!! Alas, things are very slow going with part 7, for a variety of reasons (including creative slumps, irl stuff, other projects with deadlines and other things besides). However, I think I have realised what some of the problems were that were causing me to hit a block, as well as realise some things that I want to happen, which is really good news because it means that it is...I wanna say tackle-able, if that makes sense? It can be done. I just gotta do it! So, it's gonna take a while for me to write it, sorry! But I believe it will happen. I also thing my brain is kinda craving more input at the moment, so I'm allowing myself to take my time - which I'm hoping will help me come back to it fresh sooner rather than later.

Things I am working on at the moment, if you're interested: I'm taking part in a fanfic exchange, which has a deadline coming up imminently which, uh, I have NOT finished my fic for (mostly because it's too long HAHA it's like 20k at this point rip) so what will happen there is that either I'll blitz the ending of that fic in the next few days, or I'll bail and write my emergency shorter fic idea which I'll actually be able to finish in time. We'll see. I'm kinda hoping I can get the big one done because I love it a lot. And either way, it'll be a spydoc fic (....sort of?? I feel like, with both, they're not shippy, just incredibly rancid and rather bloody...so shippy for spydoc!). I might write the shorter one anyway, for vibes. But then I'm also working on the music for The History Between Us zine audio book! Aaaaaaaaand I've got a few commissions going on plus working on seeing if I can release an original album of music, AND keeping my ear to the ground with original script calls (I actually need to write more original scripts and short films.....I need like, a bank of things so I don't have to keep scrambling every time a script call comes out) so like, there's a lot of things sort of pulling at my brain, in both very exciting ways but also slightly stressful ways. Plus, yknow, life. But roads is a story that is very dear to my heart and I am REALLY keen to write the whole thing - because like, I want YOU guys to find out about the backstory stuff so bad because, well, I wanna see if I can stick the landing hahah but also like!! I've been working up to these moments for soooooooo long now, and you guys have been wanting to know what's going on, so it's definitely on the cards. It's mostly a case of having time, and energy, and being able to wrangle my brain all at the same time - I think a lot of the problem is also that my brain is less hyperfocused on doctor who than it was when I first started writing - which is only natural. But I believe in the power of campervan!13 to call me back hahaha. Like I said, her story is something I really wanna tell in it's full.

But thank you for the lack of pressure hahhaha, I appreciate that a lot!! <3 I am sorry if you have to end up waiting a while for it. But I believe that I will get there with it, at some point.

The Traveller takes down several Fatui resources to cripple them, specifically Dottore's channels since he is currently the biggest threat so far between the Eleven, he had presented himself as someone cunning and wouldn't stop for anything for his research. Rigid and unreasonable unless there is a bargaining chip.

The Traveller spares nothing. From the Traveller partnering up with Beidou to sink multiple Fatui vessels carrying materials. To going after the many, many Fatui stations in Sumeru with Dehya and Candace.

The Traveller did so in hopes of making Dottore more agreeable, he won't listen to anything unless control has been taken from him.

It works, but not in the way the Traveller had anticipated.

Dottore laid down arms not because of his experiments slowing down to a mere crawl, no - it's because his lover's condition has grown severe.

All those channels the Traveller had pruned? They had the materials needed to create the medicine his lover needed on a daily basis.

All those rare cultivated materials, gone. Either lost to sea or set ablaze. Ever since the cut-off, Prime himself and his segments have been scrambling to look for alternatives in Snezhnaya until they could get a hold of the proper materials.

But it is not enough, his lover his rapidly deteriorating and he could only stall it.

What has the Traveller done...? Unwittingly holding the Second Harbinger's heart hostage by chance. They can now make their demands, but - the Traveller is certain that Dottore will soon retaliate once this crisis is over.

The Doctor was not a man to mess with.

Well, any normal person wouldn't mess with any of the Harbingers in general, but it's no surprise that Il Dottore is especially on this list, taking into account his sheer strength, along with intelligence and cleverness that was hard to find elsewhere. The Traveler was no stranger to this, considering everything that went down in Sumeru as well as the numerous other deeds the Harbinger had done. Not to mention they remember how tough the Knave was, they couldn't fathom what Dottore was capable of. So although this isn't their usual course of action, they don't hold anything back. It's a lot of work, so much, to even cause a dent in the Harbinger's operations considering how many steps he is ahead of them. The blonde almost thinks it's all for nothing. Until it's not.

It is quite strange - one would think you would need to outwit Dottore with a superior mind, but instead, he falls due to his heart, something most people think is absent from the Harbinger. The Traveler had heard of you only a few times, all when they were eavesdropping on other agents. Every time they hear a whisper about the person called [Name], they believe it to be mere rumor and gossip, for it is that ridiculous. The Doctor having a lover? The Doctor having a partner he genuinely respected and loved? Who would ever believe that?

It's not until now the Traveler realizes it's no rumor. Childe is the one who ends up telling them, because there was no way Dottore would admit his weakness to them. From the Eleventh's expression and their heart, the blonde knows they've done something very, very, wrong. But how could they have known? How could they have known a man as cruel as the Doctor would care for another as well?

Regardless, the Traveler may be temporarily ahead, but anyone could guess that Dottore doesn't take any sort of aggression against you lightly in the slightest.

(You fluttering in and out of consciousness, waking up to blurry sights of a new segment every time. When they notice your blinking eyes, they simply place a hand over your eyes and a kiss on your forehead, motioning you to go to sleep once again so the pain is more bearable. You beckon for them to squeeze your hand tightly, so you know that both of you are still here. The only thing Dottore can promise is that he'll make it better soon. As soon as he deals with some pests.)

You do you! There are definitely loads of people who found out about LO through the more critical side of the fandom and still wound up liking the comic regardless. And honestly I encourage it because at least then you're forming your own opinion. As loud and firm as I am about my own opinions about LO, I don't ever want people to just take everything I say here as law and then never do their own thinking. You can like a piece of work while also recognizing its flaws or being open to the opinions of others who don't. Regardless of how you were introduced to the work, if you enjoyed reading it, more power to you ( ´ ∀ `)ノ～ ♡

But he protects you from predators and he's very sweet to you, so you cling to him out of convenience and the fact that you're instinctively drawn to him because he's technically your mate now.

You think you might be able to escape after you've given birth to all of the fry, but that won't happen. Azul isn't going to let you go. You're a mother now, so you have to stay and take care of the babies with him. :D he'll marry you so that you really won't be able to escape to some other mer. And if you're still trying to leave him, he'll have to knock you up with more clutches to keep you always tired and forever dependent on him. :)

Not literally this time, but emotionally. She can touch people again. She can go around and shove people and clap her hand on their backs and kiss and hug and fuck and punch people in the face in a friendly bar brawl without making their face look like a medium raw beef steak.

She feels the intense need to kiss Dammon square on the mouth but she hugs him instead and hoists him up and holds him way longer than might be appropriate but he chuckles and hugs her back and it's the fucking best feeling in the world.

The possibilities are endless and Karlach feels happiness bubble inside her like thick lava, ready to burst out of the ground. She's a literal volcano of happiness. Fuck yeah.

Karlach hugs everyone. She hugs Gale and Tav and Shadowheart, then she hugs Dammon again, then she rolls around in some grass just for good measure. It doesn't leave a burning trail of ash and embers behind and Karlach is so fucking stoked she almost starts crying.

"Oh my gods, I need to find someone to spoon tonight. I'd spoon the fucking Elderbrain to be totally honest with you. I am so ready to cuddle. Holy shit!"

"Please don't spoon the Elderbrain", Gale says weakly and Tav laughs so hard that they choke on their own spit and Shadowheart has to use a spell to make them stop heaving. Karlach loves them all so much. She loves her friends and the whole world and Dammon and this grass tickling her skin and the feeling of the wind in her face.

It wouldn't even matter if she died tomorrow because she's so fucking happy to be in this very moment. It would all have been worth it just for this.

Karlach whistles and sings the entire time they walk back to camp, from time to time grabbing Tav's or Shadowheart's hands to hold and swing between them like a happy child.

First thing she'll do back at camp is find Scratch and pat him for half an hour. At least that's what Karlach thinks until they arrive and the first thing she sees is Astarion and Wyll standing next to each other as Astarion works to fix a rip on Wyll's shirt.

The heart in her chest that's not really a heart roars with affection and she loves Scratch, she loves him so much, but she also loves these men and now she can touch them.

Fuck.

Karlach doesn't think twice, she barrels forward, jumping over the campfire with ease past Lae'zel who's reading a weird metal disc with a furrowed brow and then she's there, startling both of them.

"What in the—", Astarion starts and drops his needle but he can't finish his question because Karlach already picked them both up. Gods, they're both so skinny. She smushes them together and laughs and maybe she also cries a little as she turns around with both of them in her arms, their feet dangling off the ground.

Astarion protests and struggles against her grip like a grumpy cat while Wyll laughs with her.

"It worked!", he exclaims, his voice as excited as Karlach feels.

"It worked", she cries and hugs them tighter, turning two more times before setting them back down and taking a step back. Gods, it's hard to let them go. Fuck she wants to hug them again immediately.

"Well", Astarion says and pretends to dust off his shirt, his face purposefully nonchalant but his cheeks all flushed, "I see your little outing was successful, darling."

"Fuck yes it was. I will spoon you so hard tonight", she says and pumps her fist in the air. Astarion blinks while Wyll chuckles.

"Spoon?", he echoes. Karlach grins so hard that her cheeks hurt.

"Yeah. Spooning. Cuddling. Holding tenderly. Whatever you wanna call it", she says and nods before twirling around by herself again. "I can hug people again!"

"Ugh. Fine, I guess", Astarion says, doing his best to sound as if he's doing Karlach a huge favor. Wyll shakes his head but he's still smiling.

"That means you won't get cold tonight, my pointy-eared friend", Wyll says. Astarion narrows his eyes at Wyll.

"I am dead. I don't get cold", he proclaims and stalks off, leaving Wyll's shirt unfinished. Karlach beams at him as Wyll hugs her again.

"I am so happy for you", he whispers and she holds him tight.

"Me too, Wyll. Me too."

given that the kh fandom has survived several massive droughts over the years at this point i think it's unkillable. some of my mutuals on here are from like the ice age of kingdom hearts and still alive and blogging the exact way they always did. it won't be a huge fandom but even now with the series still being alive the fandom isn't as big as it once was in its heyday. but those of us here are incredibly loyal. and the nature of any long-running thing is that people carry it with them over the course of many years and it'll become impossible to drop it once it does end. but! it truthfully all depends on How it ends if you ask me. if it's a trainwreck a lot of people might abandon it out of resentment. if it's good or even mediocre as an ending it'll have its fans throughout eternity

so it looks like I've been getting one of two types of asks lately:

I obviously won't be addressing type #2, but as for type #1, I've already said what I needed to say many times over. It was one fucking post and I wasn't aiming to call out the entire kanthony fandom, only the actions of a few obnoxious bigots (which NONE OF YOU, polins or kanthonies, should be denying that you have at this point). If I had known the details about what the kanthony fandom was also facing I probably would have addressed that as well. All y'all needed to do was let me know what I needed to know in an even-tempered way and I would have been like "yeah, no, you're absolutely right and I am supporting you all the way." which I do, btw, and you are. but because you decided you knew everything about me after one fucking post and projected all your issues onto me, I'm not going to engage with this anymore. "good riddance," you're probably saying. yeah. good fucking riddance. I gave an opinion that was not as well informed as it should have been and I should have known more.

Hello~ And UGH I am absolutely obsessed with the concept of Dottore caring for fragile reader. I love him so much though I wanna give him all the hugs and kisses if I could!

I couldn’t help but imagine fragile reader wanting to care for Dottore as well, and especially give his segments the same treatment. Dottore goes on long trips so I could only imagine by the time he comes back, he’s a little tired and dirty from the long trips. So much so, fragile reader manages to convince him to take a bath with them and allow them to brush his hair and wipe his face.

Of course when the other clones see the treatment he gets simply for being a little dirty, they take the extra step as well in hopes to get the same treatment.

Webttore (beta I think-) would come back from one of his trips and purposely dirty his mask and face before entering the lab. He would get angry glares from the other segments but fragile reader would walk by and look at him worriedly, thinking he face planted into the ground or something. Of course this would lead to fragile reader wiping his face and eyes with a damp cloth while he secretly gives the most cockiest “I win” smiles with those sharp teeth of his.

(Needless to say I just wanna love them and care for them all🥺)

It's only natural that when you are treated kindly, you want to return the same energy to that person(s). And that's no different with you toward Dottore and the segments, though you may not be able to do anything too grand for them due to your illness, you're still going to try! They always do so much for you, even with your current state, you're still going to make their lives a bit more comfortable, if you can.

Not just the trips, but Dottore tends to coop up in his lab, doing a wide variety of experiments that certainly can get a bit messy at times... it's up to you to hug him from behind and attempt to pull him away. It's... honestly not very successful, I mean, do you think you can drag away the man with the strength of Gods that easily? He stays rooted in his place as he tries to dismiss you, claiming how busy he is (even though it's very obvious he's tired) but with enough persuading, to pestering, to threatening, to pleading, to begging, you can get him in a warm comforting bath. And when you finally get Dottore to sink into the water, it's kind of funny how much he just lets go, he will suddenly lay all of his body weight on you and look at you expectantly like 'what are you waiting for, get to work.' Needless to say, you always put your all into bathing and cleaning your beloved.

Also, needless to say, the segments are always jealous of the unfiltered attention their creator gets. They long for your eyes to be on them instead, to be bathed in your affection too! So, therefore, they get to work. Is it laughable for geniuses like them to be using their intelligence for such a reason? 100%, but it's worth it.

Ah Webttore... bro would bloody himself to make you extra worried... because the segments never come back hurt, so seeing him "injured" would definitely make you freak out (it's not his blood, but you don't know that <3). You'd gasp and then drag him to your room so you can help bathe him, demanding that it's more important than reporting to Prime first, all while he knows he's going to hog the hell out of your attention. (You're not leaving there for a while).
