Starting off the new year with I think the most background heavy piece I've ever made! I think Rainwings and Nightwings would celebrate their traditional holidays together after the events of The brightest night. So this drawing is meant to show their cultures kind of blending together during a very joyful time. I remember talking about this concept with someone on tumblr a year ago but when I went back through my posts I couldn't for the life of me find it - so if your reading this, I remember you and this drawing stems from that conversation so thank you!

#They are celebrating the brightest night that's why there's so much moon symbolism in the decorations#I hope I translated my thoughts well enough so you can get the vibe of their celebration#I was split between drawing a tree glows from the lights that were hung up upon it#or a night rave with neon lights#because I think those two situations would result from blending nightwing and rainwing cultures together#also I wanted to show this like organised chaos of the different decoration styles of both rainwings and nightwings on the tree#Moon and Kinkajou are there too!#also you don't see the spearmaster looking nightwing#it just kind of came out looking like them? by accident#continuing my weird obsession with drawing giant trees I have to draw one every year so I might as well just check that now#wings of fire#wof#nighwing#rainwing#moonwatcher wof#kinkajou wof#dragon#art#cinnamon's doodles

I thought ''be considered X where I live'' would make the most sense since 'tallness' or etc. is sort of#subjective to the people around you or your specific culture/area/etc. And if I just said ''I'm tall'' or ''I'm short'' then#the response might be 'well how do I define whether I'm tall or not?'' or etc. But then most people could probably look#at the people around them in daily life they interact with and compare based on that to get a more literal idea or something#..ANYWAY.. lol.. as usual just thought of some random thing and was like.. hrmm... i wonder what the most common#feeling about that would be.#personally I'm not even short but I just want to be really really tall... like... 7 feet tall or something. In a fantasy world type of way#of course. so like a super tall elf creature. More realistically I suppose you get health problems past a certain point#so maybe I'd be happy with 6'2“ or so.#Absolutely no hate towards people with this preference but I've always had trouble understanding the idea of wanting to be shorter#so you're Small And Cute or this and that. or whatever the base reason is. I suppose I would understand it from a surivval prespective#maybe you want to be able to hide in your environment easier and blend into a crowd. I personally would like people to be inspired to run#away from me when they see me though gjhbj#In an average grocery store or something just a normal day but then some 8 foot tall wizard man walks in and so everyone#kind of backs away slowly = yaaay I get the aisle all to myself and can shop for my produce in peace.#(except for the fact that there's a subsection of people who would intepret it as spectacle and would run towards instead of away#and pull out their dumbass phones to film Weird Thing Happening. in which case. spell of 'phone melts into molten plastic in your hands#stop filming strangers in public without their consent' be cast upon ye. )

the book trend that needs to be left in the dust for the new year is greek mythology retellings. i am so sick and tired of "retellings" of greek (or roman, but mainly greek) mythology from authors that clearly have a very surface level pop cultural understanding of the myth(s) they're adapting and the culture(s) they're depicting. especially the many that market themselves as "feminist retellings" where the "feminism" is basically just "men bad sometimes", and especially when they're "feminist retellings" that take some of the few mythological women who get happy endings and take it away from them for the sake of saying "men bad sometimes". it's all so shallow and they exploded this year and i'm sick of it.
#i wish so fucking much to read one (1) singular actually good feminist retelling of greek mythology#but they're always so shallow both in their messaging and their understanding of ancient greek culture and religion#i speak#anti booktok#sort of anyway?#greek mythology#bc i can't make a single post tangentially about myth without bitching about medusa:#so many people in publishing clearly got everything they learned about medusa from popular online depictions#and especially the books that are specifically about medusa blending greek and roman mythology despite them having very distinct elements

IT'S JUST SO...!! savior's wardrobe scrubbed clean of her original culture and preferences#replaced with the foreign garments of her captor's nations.....in line with this. i love how her kokoshnik and khaenri'ahn earrings are big#and attention-grabbing. you can't look at her without taking note of those accessories. it begs the question:: how many times has savior#looked at the mirror after being dressed up in snezhnaya and was unable to recognize her own reflection?? :'>#also shoutout to some details aine shared with me: 1) the face marks are inspired by weeping angels 2) the kokoshnik was traditionally worn#by married noblewomen BUT the veil was normally for unmarried women so savior's outfit can be seen as a form of compliance + rebellion#(though later on in history it became accepted for married women to also wear that veil. also my apologies if what i said is inaccurate)#lastly shoutout to savior's expression!! very poised and mysterious....due to her emotional state or pierro's rules on how to act as his#spouse in public?? we'll never know~ the first drawing hits even harder when you compare it to the next one!! such an interesting contrast~#savior in her plain attire. casual and domestic with a smile on her face....i'm guessing this is her pre-fatui version?? she looks so warm#and friendly. and i can definitely understand why pierro fell for her smile <3#also i fucking love the caption. sorry pierro but you are cursed to be a loser/ simp/ pathetic man in all of my fics and AUs xD#NOW ONTO GODDESS! #costumes#self#ancient images I seem to have never posted.. or at least can't find them anywhere#I did post them on instagram but not on here apparently..#I never photoshop or alter my images to make my face look different or anything. the only editing I ever#do is just blurring the backgrounds or like upping the contrast or warmth or something. ASIDE from occasionally making my eyes#a different color to match a costume (cheaper than buying contacts lol) OR like in this picture#where in the actual costume photos I edited my hairline so that it matches the wig lol. in these it looks very funny that my#real very dark hair is just .... visible underneath lol#MAYBE elven culture wears wigs like hats and no efforts are made to blend it into the natural hair underneath#the same way that you wouldnt try to obscure or dye your hair roots the same color as your beanie#maybe THAT huh#(< is just too lazy to wear a wig properly)

i was driving home today and saw a kings parrot laying on the road.
i had to stop to make sure it was dead and not just injured,
it was, in fact, dead. but the body was so perfect…and ohh..if it weren’t so hot..and if i were closer to home and not outside the house being watched by the homeowner of the house i’m trying to buy…i would’ve taken him.
sweet thing was in absolutely pristine condition! i haven’t stopped thinking about this the whole afternoon…UGHGH.
