Did you catching up with Blake and justin drama? Can't believe dany would be mention in this drama lol.

I did see Blake mention Dany, and I was not-so surprised bc Dany is a cultural phenomenon. Dany is a source of inspiration for the girls, gays, theys, and anyone who happens to understand or need political revolution. Blake is a woman, albeit a white wone but yes they too can love a powerful young female dragonrider who rises to where she is now on wit & belief in herself, from abuses conventionally used against children and women that would have killed her otherwise. As privileged as someone like Blake is, a woman like her is still going to have conditions of oppression. When oppressive or perceivingly oppressive stuff happens, all these groups mentioned will inevitably think of or mention Dany. I have from time to time.

Now whether or not she's simply mentioning Dany for public support (I know lots of people wondered or just believe so), idk. It could be BOTH that she always loved Dany or admired her and she sees how people hate her, sees PoCs and Black women love Dany (the demo that notably joined to say that Blake is a typical white woman manipulator or implied such from their own experiences coupled with Blake's very stupid choice to marry on a slave plantation), sees she could lose the war of public opinion like Amber Heard under Baldoni's smear caimpaign, and choose to publically try to drawpeople in simultaneously.

Either way, unless she makes a pattern of just throwing beloved female characters on the wall & demonstrates insincerity, I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Being uninterested in current US celebrity gossip means that this story kind of whizzed past me this summer. I didn't sit up to take notice. Neither of these people is Jimin, so I tuned it out. Yesterday's court filing, however, finally caught my attention. That's revealed is fascinating if not outrightly horrifying.

The media has fully invested in our attention. It's become their biggest commodity and tool. Propaganda at its finest. We've seen cases like this before where two parties start up a smear campaign to tarnish someone's good reputation to sway public opinion. Oftentimes, these cases are a battle between a man and a woman. Think of Brad Pitt vs. Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard or, more recently, Trumpelstiltskin vs. Ms. Harris. Can we even go as far as to include MHJ and Hybe/Bang in this category? Or, the people vs. anyone they want to tarnish?

Public opinion is such a fickle thing. It's entirely malleable in the hands of the 'right' people. Anyone willing and unscrupulous enough to go the extra mile.

Park Jimin was just as recently as last week been the target of online hate campaigns. Helloo Min Yoongi? Kim Namjoon?!?! Basically, every Tannie has been wrung through the wringer like this to serve a voracious narrative. In their case, it was other fandoms fanning the flames of hate for the media to serve, but it's all meant to destroy a person's reputation.

I bring this article up because it's a good reminder of how much influence PR firms have when they want to change a narrative in order to suit their highest bidder. It makes me wonder how much of the bad press we hear (chatter online) is fully fabricated, maybe partly based on the public's incentive to dislike a certain person, and how important it is to read between the lines. To stay critical in your online interactions and in your dissemina of reports. Keep thinking for yourself. Your opinion can't become cement, in either direction.

Isn't it funny how PR playbooks have been exposed this year? Remember MHJ and her text exchanges about how best to go on the attack? Her confidence when talking to her co-conspirator as opposed to her demeanor during her presser? We are the ones being catered to! Our dumb minds are unwilling or unable to parse through to the truth. It's not surprising seeing as it's often very hard to figure out who's lying about whom.

I know some people love certainty, look at the nonsense questions most jikook bloggers get asked about, but it's better to stay flexible in how secure you feel about anything so as not to be surprised or dissapointed in the long run. Trust your gut when it comes to forming an opinion on someone or something and ask yourself, 'Why?' Why am I being asked to hate or voice my dislike on a celebrity whom I know nothing about? Why am I being driven towards a conclusion that serves but ONE narrative?

Come on, people, this happens to 'us' in this K-pop/ARMY fandom community as well..if not worse.

I'm seeing some sympathy for Melissa Nathan in the entire Blake Lively scandal and...honestly, I'm usually very keen to keep things in perspective when it comes to women VS men getting blamed but...you don't ACCIDENTALLY stumble into a career where you're slandering other women, particularly abuse victims, for money. You don't ACCIDENTALLY and clear-headedly take advantage of structural misogyny in order to organize a worldwide smear campaign against multiple women. You don't ACCIDENTALLY start a company that specializes in PR crisis management (which, again, has taken multiple cases where the "crisis management" was "slander the victim.") It's the pinnacle of the original definition of "girlboss" to walk over other women in order to enrich yourself, and she's done that, to multiple women.

You could be a celebrity PA. You could be a social media manager. You could be any number of things that do NOT require you to do that, but she chose to. That doesn't mean that Justin Baldoni did nothing wrong -- he did EVERYTHING wrong, but she went along with it, and we have the texts highlighting it. I have roughly as much sympathy for her as I have for Ghislaine Maxwell. And I'm sorry, but after a period of thought and reflection on my feminism and whether my hatred for this particular woman stems from internalized misogyny, I maintain that I think that if there's such a thing as hell, she's going to get her own special place in it.

I have sympathy for customer service workers. I have sympathy for people working shitty minimum wage jobs to support their families, including for shitty companies. I don't have sympathy for her, and I'm glad that her shitty, shitty actions get to face public scrutiny.
