Out of curiosity, Valfrey can... See, feel, the souls? Perhaps it's a bit stupid question, but i'm still with doubt

The reason i ask is: How would she react to someone who, perhaps, doesn't have a soul? Maybe an AI, for an example? Most of AI in kirby show to be sentient, ones more than another, but i doubt that means they hace an actual soul... Unless You have a headcanon about this topic

Yes, she can sense souls! And a sentient entity that does not bear a soul can not be properly judged by a reaper and is therefore given a soul to rectify this issue as soon as it is observed, may it be an AI, a clone or freed Dark Matter spawn. Death = Delete for a soulless individual, it'd be considered a failure to Valfrey if she couldn't capture the essence of an individual after death. (This serves somewhat as a continuation to this, which was supposed to be more so to describe DMS���s loss of his original soul and serves as a warning on Valfrey’s part. She purposefully didn’t mention that DMS is still alive and well for this purpose.)

ren wanders the city on his off days, enjoying the food and the lights and tucked-away shops. he decorates his space with trinkets he buys during his excursions, and he pins photos from his outings on his pinboard. an illusion of connection to the people around him. his mask is too strong to open up to anyone; he can't be more than the friendly doctor, or the friendly coworker, or the friendly customer.

in the end, he's left in his lonely apartment with his coffee and takeout, sitting at a table big enough for one. still stuck in the cage his parents constructed around him in childhood, perpetuated by his exhausting job run by people who shouldn't be in charge of vulnerable peoples' lives, until his emotions eventually build and explode.

Did a little 5 min soulsborne drawing challenge

So I drew my dark souls 2 characters (Gregg III) getting ready to fight Malenia, Blade of Miquella.

(I will openly admit I used my reference images like a blue print, if I try this challenge again, I'll try to differentiate from them, but i am still happy i achieved this)

(Was gonna do gregg IV (dark souls 3), but drawing havel armour scares me)

since he has now actually appeared in a speaking role in the story and his name has been revealed, Tojiro gets to have his banner up on the website's Dramatis Personae. he might be the character with the greatest amount of pages between showing up as a nameless stranger and revealing himself (longer than Astor even!) with 114.

so much time passed between his initial conception (before i had figured out how to construct faces the way i do now) and his appearance in Second Verse that he looks like a whole new guy!

his first outfit is a variant of the one that his fellow countryman Denjiro is wearing, a westernized military coat with a japanese style overcoat (sorry for the tiny image below)

Tojiro however, is wearing the overcoat inside-out, with the white side facing the world. he's also wearing it folded in reverse, marking himself as a dead man walking. the overcoat is also quite damaged from his time wandering the desert on his own.

his second "outfit" is more or less a dressed-down version of his first one. his pants open into big flared pant legs! wow! he's also let his hair down, implications yet to be determined. he was always going to have long hair since otherwise his ponytail wouldnt have worked. if you look really close you can even see the silly little tan he got from being walked around in the blazing sun by Zayide.

since Alessandra ripped his binding bandages apart in the finale of First Verse and no better opportunity has presented itself, he's just letting them hang (dont bind with bandages, it'll fuck up your ribs and inhibit your breathing, jsyk next time you get possessed) - he's kind of playing foil to Astor in terms of his gender presentation in Second Verse. if i had infinite time and infinite pages to spend on this, this would have been more explicit.
