Never allow anyone the power to stop you from what you're destined to do! BE GREAT! Just look how unbothered this black queen is. The hate from our oppressors is so real, you can almost feel it through this photo. Remember how hard we fought....how hard we have to fight now. Never... EVER let them win. We are better than what they portray us as. #racism #hatecrime #blackoppression #slavery #fightforyourrights #blackqueen #amerikkka #nevergiveup #unplug #whiteprivilege #segregation #martinlutherkingjr #malcolmx #jimcrowlaws #theywanttobeus #goddess https://www.instagram.com/p/BsYyuVHBIh5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ev28gobd9dfr

Throughout the many incarnations of systemic racism in this country, the reality is that Black lives matter but only in relation to more valuable white lives.

Are you proud
Today is the 241st birthday of the United States, although we acknowledge that both natives and colonists lived in America long before then. So let’s look at some logistics of our history, particularly human slavery, in the U.S.:
Black enslavement in the U.S. lasted 246 years (longer than the country’s been a country). It has only been 152 years since slavery ended. Only 69 years has passed since the U.S. armed forces were integrated. Brown vs. Board of Education occurred a mere 63 years ago. Black women in the South could not vote until the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
We’ve had slavery in this country almost 100 years longer than we haven’t.

Extra Credit HACK

From Tupac’s song Changes, this part of the verse speaks about inequality. “I got love for my brother, But we can never go nowhere unless we share with each other, We gotta start makin' changes, Learn to see me as a brother instead of two distant strangers, And that's how it's supposed to be, How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me? I'd love to go back to when we played as kids, But things change… and that's the way it is” (Tupac). The entire song sends a hopeful, adamant, yet disappointed view on the changes that need to be made and those that have not been made (during that time). Tupac’s lyrics talk about how changes for equality need to be made and that it is not possible unless blacks and whites unite as one, as human rather than separate. Here, he elaborates on the relationship between blacks and whites; “I see no changes, all I see is racist faces Misplaced hate makes disgrace to races We under, I wonder what it takes to make this One better place, let's erase the wasted, Take the evil out the people, they'll be actin' right ‘Cause both black and white are smokin' crack tonight And the only time we chill is when we kill each other It takes skill to be real, time to heal each other”. Tupac presented the fact that black and white people do the same things but racism separates them, it suddenly made it wrong for blacks to do anything in the eyes of society- simply because the color of their skin. Tupac’s rap career presented many political and societal ideas of the African American race that didn’t even occur to others. With his thoughtful insight, he grew to be a leader in the eyes of the black community. “A lot of people thought that Tupac was going to be the next great Black leader. Although his music was conflicted and he walked a thin line between ‘positive’ and ‘negative’, Tupac gave some insightful interviews and made startling observations that left a lot of us waiting for the ay the he would come into his true greatness and fulfill the destiny of his legacy to the Black Panther Party” (Pough). Tupac certainly served as the black community’s voice against all the racism and political flaws regarding equality amongst blacks and whites.

With the u.s. election embarking on us, make the best choice u deem appropriate. Equality cant be achieved in a 4 yr term let alone a lifetime but as long as you believe in its concept and respect it, anything is possible. #fightforyourright #equality #humanity #humanrights #blackoppression #racerelations #gayrights #transgenderrights #policebrutality #socialissues #election #usa🇺🇸 #spokenword #reality #tbt #politics #rawwattage

Report via @chakabars Which studies fam? Ahh shut the f*ck up. Apparently we are all one until they want to start telling us that a particular shade of skin, shape of face is the most desirable. (To the white supremacists) Clearly not or your ancestors (after they Crawled out of the caves) wouldn't have gone around raping all of the African and brown skinned indigenous people of the earth. How about this, suck yourself with your wet limp nonsense, you bloodclaat fishes, and stop trying to convince Africans that we (the original humans) are ugly since you came from us. Also stop pretending that ancient Egyptians looked like Europeans and also stop telling every woman they have to be skinny with straight hair. One last thing, all standards of beauty should be appreciated, not discriminated. #chakabars #Melanin #blackappreciation #blacklove #afrikan #blackconsciousness #knowledgeofthyself #positivity #blackunity #problack #blackempowerment #blackcommunity #afrikanpower #melaninpower #theoriginalpeople #blackexcellence #staywoke #ankhlife #blackhistory #unapologeticallyafrikan #knowyourhistory #blacklivesmatter #blackoppression #blackbeauty

“Now, Jimmy Crow (as some have called this current era of racial caste by way of mass incarceration) continues the legacy of different rules for Black Folks within a seemingly integrated system of justice.”

It is learning how to stand alone, unpopular and sometimes reviled, and how to make common cause with those others identified as outside the structures in order to define and seek a world in which we can all flourish.
