The not-so-sunny side of the end of the arc

Genos was hurt a lot worse than he let on. It's been two weeks and only now are Saitama and he coming back to see what they can salvage. We know Dr Kuseno can turn around a total rebuild in under a day. How anxious Saitama was to salvage what he could of his possessions. How Genos will do anything Saitama asks of him. And we know that there's no such thing as 'off limits' where Saitama is concerned. If they're only just back, it'll be because of the weakest link in this matter: Genos's health. Like almost everything else about this guy, we don't get a look in at anything really important.

Atomic Samurai is having to be the chief mourner at at least three funerals of his friends. Only one of them had enough of a body left to be worth cremating.

The cyborg conspiracy that Drive Knight alluded to is still running.

Interestingly, the Metal Knight Drive Knight is so convinced wants the heroes out of the way has not only cleaned up the radioactive fallout and treated the heroes for poisoning, but has also treated the heroes for underlying medical conditions. Pretty poor going for a mastermind itching to get a free hand.

Psykos is still free. The good side: all her hair will have fallen out from radioactivity, unless she passed herself off as a regular civilian for Metal Knight to organise treatment for.

Did somebody say casualties? Environmental damage? Mass loss of trust in the Hero Association? No? Well you should.

Garou hasn't actually changed his mind about anything.

There's a surprising number of Monster Association alumni running around. Do-S (who knows she's got the hottest blackmail material on Amai Mask), the ninja bros, Monster Chick Man, Undergrown Rover, at least one Black Spermatozoon (note singular), and probably an evil little puddle. If they're not found and neutralized, they'll blow up into fresh trouble.

God is still watching.

Speaking of gods, I hope there's a friendly one out there for my cyborg son. With Saitama having decided that Genos is his de facto Morality Chain without whom he will not suffer existence to continue, Genos hasn't realised it yet, but he's in a trap. He will not be allowed to leave.

Summer 1243 – Kaer Morhen

It all began with a game of Hide-And-Seek. Not a very ordinary way to began a story but not too unbelievable either. So yes, Hide-And-Seek.

It was a day- off for all (not trainees) 8 to 10 years’ old and Dawid, one of the laundresses’ son, decided that the abandoned tower was a perfect hiding place. He was smaller than the normal 8 year’s old, so it was easy for him to fit through the hole in the tower (Witchers apparently didn’t deemed it important because it was hidden and you’ve to climb to access it. Not something they thought a human child could do).

After a pat on the head of his favorite cat (a black and white cat who was the first to be friendly to Witchers and named Brave Heart), he went into the tower, tried to not shiver (they said the tower was cursed because even Witchers didn’t felt comfortable inside) and decided to climb up the stairs.

It was like any mage’s tower, full of diagrams and phials and at the highest of the tower, a room with only a statue and a book. When Dawid’s blood touched the book, the magical backlash was felt by everyone in Kaer Morhen.

So, to Dawid’s half-disappointment, it wasn’t a cursed princess but a cursed mage. But, to his (and Kaer Morhen in general) elation, Marzena was so old that she was born before the Conjunction of Spheres and so, she remembered where humans came from.

The only sore point was that Marzena was the one who created the Witcher’s trials. Lambert was pissed. Until he learned that Marzena had, before becoming a decoration, created not only the 30% success version, but she also ameliorated it to 70% success and she was close to a 90% success version. All the mages who were on this project had a copy of her notes.

The mood was very somber for a time. But then, it was decided that Triss and Marzena were going to work on a not-(too)-painful version. And this is when the BIG REVELATION happened! Marzena not only worked on the Witcher’s Trials but also on a potion that could make Witchers able to have babies!

“Witchers are sterile.

- Not with any of my formulas. You’re almost sterile. Your spermatozoon's account is very low but not blank.

- Our what?”asked some Witchers.

And so, Kaer Morhen had their first official “Sexual Education Lesson”. Even Clovis was a little green

“I didn’t know women could loose that much blood during their life…

- Yes, my dear, as much as contained in 7 to 8 bodies, for the unlucky ones.

- And they can really pass out from the pain?

- Indeed.

- Hmmm” Clovis might be an asshole but he still helped the women of Kaer Morhen carry heavy stuff, particularly during this time of the month.

Marzena asked the Witchers to talk with their significant other to see if they wanted biological children. Apparently, she also found the solution for same-sex couples.

Lambert & Milena

Lambert paced in their bedroom.

“What do you think of it, Milena?

- About us having a child? Well, I would like to but I don’t want to force you.

- I didn’t have a good example before I came to Kaer Morhen and even then…” Milena put her hand on his shoulder and force him to look at her.

“It’s a good thing you’re neither your father nor the elders of Kaer Morhen then, isn’t it? You’re Lambert. You’re my prickly wolf. Try to think about it and we’ll talk again in a few days.”

Lambert kissed her.

Two weeks later

“Are you sure?” asked Marzena.

“Yes, we took the time to discuss it between us for two weeks. We want a child.

- Good. I’ll need Lambert to ‘put his little soldiers’ in this phial. I’ll get out so you can help him, Milena dear. Tell me when you’re finished.” Marzena winked at them before leaving.

Well, good thing she soundproofed this room.

The phial was kept under stasis until Milena was fertile. Then, Marzena mixed Lambert’s phial with the fertility potion. The fertility potion had two phases. The first one bring back forth the ‘human DNA’ the one they got before the Trials. Before they became Witchers. The second one, once the DNA is ‘cleansed’, multiply the spermatozoa until a normal number. It took less than three hours.

It was then that Marzena introduced the potion inside Milena’s womb. Lambert was here, fretting over his love and Triss was assisting Marzena, just in case. Everything went fine. Now, they just needed to wait.

One month later

“Congratulations! You’re going to be parents!” Lambert and Milena had a big smile on their face.

“Lambert! You’re going to be a daddy!

- And you’re going to be a mommy! The most beautiful mommy ever!” Milena just jumped on her wolf and kiss him thoroughly and hug him tightly. Kaer Morhen had never been so joyous than this night.

Two months

“You’re tired and it’s normal. There is another human being inside you. That’s take a lot of energy.

- So, what can I do to help.

- She need to nap when she need to, to eat when she need too. So make sure that she does that. Even if it’s the middle of the morning or if she ate one hour ago.

- OK! I can do that.

- Do not worry my wolf. And what about my nausea?

- Try breakfast in bed. Something light. Nothing fat or fried. Maybe melissa or pepper mint tea? And ginger biscuits. I’ll talk to the cooks anyway. I’m going to do some tests but it seems everything is fine.

Three months

“NO MORE NAUSEA!!!” Marzena laughed.

“Yes, it’s often a favorite stage for pregnant women. Nothing out of the ordinary?

- No everything is fine. I have light tugging, like you said I would.

- That’s good. I’m working on a thing. I wish I could have done it for this month but it’ll have to wait the next one.

- It is good?

- It will be a marvelous surprise. It’s something we got back on Earth. You’ll like it.”

Four months

When Marzena told Lambert and Milena what she was working on, they immediately asked her if they could share it with the castle. Because it was so unexpected and impossible.

“Of course. Will have to do it a few times, because there is a lot of people here.”

The first batch was the closest one: the Wolves, Buttercup, Seraphina, Yennefer and Triss, Ciri, Liliana, Aiden and Marika, Milena’s sister, who was here for a week.

Marzena put her hands on Milena’s belly and the cristal linked to her magic (a sort of frame made only with diamond-like stones) and next to her began to vibrate. After a few seconds, an image appeared. What they saw was unmistakably baby-shaped.

“It’s that…?” Asked Vesemir.

“Yes, that’s your grandchild and now…” A ‘thump thump, thump thump’ was heard. “This is your baby heartbeat. Do you want to know if you’re going to have a boy or a girl?” Lambert was completely awestruck so Milena agreed. Marzena moved her hands a little and

“Ah AH! Well, you’ll be the proud parents of a little…”

Five months

“You’re glowing Milena!

- I don’t feel like it.

- Do not worry. As long as you have someone with you, everything is going to be fine.

- I’m just happy to feel the baby. But I would do without the dizziness and the backpain. And the headache.

- I’ll give you something for that. Did you thought about names, for the baby?

- Yes. But nothing is decided yet.

- You have time. Now my dear, do you want some herbal tea?

Six months

“Are you sure?

- Yes, my darling wolf. She told me that babies can hear music or people talking to them. So, when born, they could relax when they hear the same sound.” Lambert put his ear and his hand on Milena’s bump and began to talk.

“Hi, my little pup. This is your daddy, Lambert. We are so happy that you’re here. Take your time, my darling little one, you’re safe in mummy’s belly and daddy will make sure she’s safe.” Lambert could feel a little kick and looked up at Milena.

“Milena, what’s wrong. Why are you crying?

- Oh! My lovely wolf! You’re going to be such a good father! I’m just so happy!”

They stayed that way, Milena on the bed, in a sitting position. Lambert in a lying position, his head trying to hear more sounds of the baby and his hand trying to feel more movements. Milena was singing softly, one of her hand on Lambert’s hair and the other on her belly. It was a quiet and lovely afternoon.

Seven months

“I need to pee. Again.” Milena sighed. “Jan, I think I’m going to live in the toilet for the rest of my pregnancy.

- Ah! It’s an unfortunate side-effect. My dear wife, Gods blessed her soul, had said the same thing when pregnant with Julita. What say Marzena?

- Everything is fine. Even cleaned, the witcher’s genes means that the baby will be in better health than a normal baby.

- Who do you think will go next?

- I wish for Zofia to do it. She’ll be an amazing mother. And she deserves all the good things.

- She has been with Auckes for twenty years. She had time to process she couldn’t have children with him. Now, she needs to undo everything.

- Yes, I know. I just hope it’s not going to take twenty another years.” Milena stopped walking. “Ah! My salvation! Or at least, my bladder’s. Thanks for keeping me company during this short trip.

- It’s better to have company, particularly in such a delicate state. Lambert would loose his mind if something happened to you or the baby.” Milena giggled and wish for the pregnancy to go faster.

Eight months

“The baby takes its final position. You’ll began to produce colostrum, or first milk.

- Well, since I’m feeling like a cow, I think it’s appropriate.

- The baby is doing fine. You’re doing fine. You’ve got everything for the baby?

- Yes. Vesemir and some elders made a very beautiful, witcher-themed obviously, cradle. We got so much nappies and clothes and bed linen.

- There is no such a thing as too much nappies and baby clothes.

- Zofia said the same thing.

- Zofia knows her stuff.”

Later that day, Zofia came with a cute ragdoll for the baby and Milena knew that it was going to be the favorite.

Nine months

“You’re so going to die, Lambert.

- Milena, sweety, breath. Like Marzena told you…” That was all their family heard before the door closed.

“Is it going to be ok?

- Do not worry Ciri, Milena and the baby are going to be fine. Marzena and Triss are in there.

- I was thinking about Uncle Lambert, Papa. Is he going to get out of here alive?” Zofia answered to the little cub.

“If he’s not too stupid, he’ll just have bruises.”

After four hours, Triss came to get them.

“Everything is fine. Mommy, Daddy and Baby are waiting for you.” The group washed their hands as soon as they entered the room. Milena looked exhausted and Lambert had a smile a mile long on his face.

“Family, I present you Ludmila, our little daughter.

- She has red hair, like you! Hope she doesn’t have your temperament.” Said Vesemir.

“She’s quiet. For now.

- Congratulations brother.

- Thanks Geralt. I’m so happy! Wanna hold her?” The baby went from person to person. A little cutie with a tuft of red hair and eyes which will turn the same lovely brown as her mother (and a deadly weapon against Lambert’s will).

This night, Kaer Morhen had the biggest party they could threw. Humans and Witchers alike were overjoyed with the birth of what was considered a miracle and an impossibility.

The dream that some Witchers kept buried at the bottom of their soul didn’t seemed so unattainable now. And hope bloomed in their heart.

BONUS

Ludmila, or Ludy, was 5 years’ old and quite smart. Daddy said so. Kaer Morhen was the host of elves and dwarves delegations, and Mama told her to be on her best behavior. Ludy was always on her best behavior. Daddy said that too. But, really, the boy in front of her was mean!

“Nithrael! Apologize! Now!” Ordered Filavandrel

“No! She looks dumb!” Ludy puffed out her cheeks and yelled at Filavandrel’s son

“You know what? Fluff you!” And she ran to her father. He gave the best hugs! Filavandrel asked for his son to be grounded in his room with no toys and he wasn’t going to the fair. He apologized to the Warlord and to Ludy and Ludy’s parents but asked

“Fluff you?” It was Jaskier who answered.

“Ludy is Lambert’s, so she has to curse but she’s also Milena’s, so she has to keep it polite somehow. But it’s so cute!” Filavandrel laughed quietly.

And Ludy’s curse was now a thing among the youngsters.

Because I remember scrolling through YouTube on my phone one day and seeing a Cells at Work clip I hadn’t seen before but everyone was genderswapped and I was thinking ‘Wow, this is a pretty good fan-animation’. 

And I know I was recommended a video by one of the irl doctors with a YouTube channel who did a review on the manga version, but I didn’t know it was getting a full-on, actual adaptation. 

Also, aw... That’s gotta be soul-crushing for the poor guy.

Family Fun 2

Heya everyone, Lightningnose here! In continuation with the Family Fun, here’s my submission. The first one of this series went on my my blog, The Clans’ Generations, but the actual first one went up on The Feline Helix because when this thing started up I didn’t have a blog yet.

So, first cat submitted is the sire, second cat submitted is the dam.

Sire: Lichenstream.

Dam: Bluenose.

Challenge: -Create an even number of offspring for Lichenstream and Bluenose, as well as Warrior Names for them. Also, make personalities and slight backstories for all offspring as well as Lichenstream and Bluenose.

Extra Challenges: -One offspring must have the prefix Golden-. -None of the offspring may share a suffix with a parent. -Bluenose, who is currently mates with Lichenstream, previously had offspring with another tom. The offspring are named Minnowcloud, Volefur, and Fallowfang. Come up with a possible sire for Minnowcloud, Volefur, and Fallowfang. Also come up with a Warrior Name, personality, and backstory for the sire, as well as a story for why they ended up having Kits together but did not end up remaining as mates.

We’ve got some really cool names here! Lichen- is one of my favorite prefixes ever so I came up with something I don’t use much.

I…have probably written too much, to my defense I’ll say that they were a lot of characters hahaha

Let’s go step by step: First we’ll do the genetics and, when I am 100% finished with it, I’ll get with their personality and backstory.

For their genetics, I decided to use a dice and roll the results tough some have been purposely chosen to complete the challenge (genes that aren’t written below are expected to be considered homozygous for the gene not being shown, for example, all cats below have CC for full colored body):

That settles the genetics! Let’s get started on their personality and backstory!

àBluenose is the kind of cat that you wouldn’t want to be around for too long. She can be extremely nosy and, with her energetic kind of personality, she could tire up anyone. An incredibly skilled tracker, she falls quite behind on any other skill. Bluenose is the most curious cat out there, a simple new smell can make her leave every task at hand and run for the adventure. At times, she will simply leave her clan and disappear until the sun shines up in the sky; she will return empty-handed and sometimes even hurt after falling of a tree or cutting while playing near the stream. She is not the best hunter and not the best runner tough when adventure calls her she will mysteriously disappear leaving no traces behind. Has even gotten in quite some trouble after crossing another clan’s boundaries and facing some of its warriors, she has quite the popularity as a troublemaker. Much to her clanmates despair, Bluenose isn’t quite the religious cat either and tends to mock those around her for believing such ‘nonsenses’. When tasked with something that she finds entertaining she will actually become quite useful; she loves tracking bigger predators through the clan’s territory or finding weird new places to hunt in even if most days she will be found lazing around, that is, if you find her at all. She not so secretly wishes to become a loner but feels that her place is in the clan with those she loves and those who love her.

-Was mates with Garlicface for some time until things got rough between them. Their personalities where too different from each other, Bluenose being carefree and a jokester and Garlicface being serious and extremely responsible. Both expected each other to change their personality over time; neither did change and so they would start constant fights.  They broke up on pretty bad terms and haven’t spoken to each other unless necessary since then.

-Fell in love again with one of her kithood friends, Lichenstream. Their personalities, while not similar at all, complemented each other perfectly. Bluenose finally understood that love is not about changing your partner until they no longer are themselves but adapting your habits to better coexist with them. While the couple will get into arguments sometimes, she is more willing to talk about their issues that she was back with Garlicface where raging battles were constant. Lichenstream knows that she needs time for herself and understands that her free spirit is never to change and loves her nonetheless.

-Before breaking up with Garlicface, she had Minnowcloud, Volefur and Fallowfang. The responsibility of having kits was too much for her and after breaking up with her former mate she became quite neglectful. Her sister, Mudflower, basically raised them on her own. Bluenose loves and cares for her offspring but she was too clueless to properly care for any kittens back then. Garlicface acted more like a parent figure than she did.

-Became pregnant with Lichenstream’s offspring much later. While she showed more enthusiasm about her new litter and tried caring for them as much as she could, she would still run off in search of adventure leaving her offspring unattended. Mudflower acted again as a second mother to them but this time her offspring got to see her more often.

àLichenstream is the responsibility that Bluenose lacks. Caring and compassionate Lichenstream is one of the most popular toms out there. Most question how a cat like him can be with a someone like Bluenose. Lichenstream is the best swimmer in his clan and can’t live without water for too long as he tends to get depressive if he can’t feel water under his paws. His odd fur color only adds to his charm. Unlike his mate, Lichenstream is extremely religious; cat prone to telling mythology and stories to those willing to listen to him, Lichenstream proves to be an example of how a true faithful warrior cat should be. Pretty calm and peaceful, Lichenstream prefers not to use his claws unless it is completely necessary. Tends to think of himself really highly being able of disobeying deputy, leader or seer if he thinks that his plans are better. He works extremely hard for his clan and tends to worry too much about the feelings of his clanmates, becoming quite nosy if he thinks he is doing it for the well-being of those around him.

-He is often the one having to search for Bluenose when his mate disappears without leaving a trace. He accepts this trait of her mate but does worry about her and her safety. Lately, he has started to go with Bluenose on her small adventureshoping to get closer to her and better understand why she enjoys it so much.

-Having to watch all of his family die, Lichenstream has become quite the possessive cat and prefers having his family near him where he can protect them. Bluenose has a hard time coming around his issues with her travels but is trying to spend more time with him to calm him down.

-Had a fling with a warrior from another clan who bore three of his kits. Lichenstream still feels strongly for her and daily daydreams about what could have been. Only Bluenose and Mudflower know about this. Surprisingly enough, Mudflower seems more bothered about it than his own mate does.

àGoldenstorm resembles her mother in more than one way; she is energetic, nosy and a good tracker. However, just like her father, she is extremely responsible and religious. Goldenstorm cannot stand still for more than two minutes; she believes that it is a warrior’s duty to work as hard as they possibly can to maintain their clan fed and protected making herself pass out from exhaustion often. She likes to take charge of situations and can be pretty bossy around others; she is a great strategists and can be seen often talking with the leader or deputy (much to her mother’s disbelief and anger since Garlicface is the clan’s deputy). She only seems to have two moods: cool and collected or completely angry at everyone; her ups and downs are constant and they scare everyone equally. Her slow but constant maturing made her earn her suffix; she used to be a really passive and lazy apprentice until, one day, she went out alone and a fox found her; seeing her as easy prey, the fox was capable of scarring her pretty badly. Much to her good luck, a passing patrol found her and saved her. Her wounds made her rethink about her decisions and start to change for the better. Her clan, praising change and maturing as a trait necessary in all lives, allowed her to have –storm as her suffix. She takes huge pride on her scars and sees them as beauty marks since then.

-Since she started to show interest on the deputy rank and started talking to Garlicface often, her mother has become concerned; Bluenose has tried telling her that Garlicface is only trying to get her to become a miniature himself but Goldenstorm firmly believes every word the deputy has to say. Goldenstorm thinks that her mother should work harder and tells her to do so even if she doesn’t listen to a word. They love each other nonetheless.

-Considers Mudflower a second mother and loves spending time with her.

-She has the best relationship with her father since both share similar beliefs and have a lot of things in common.

-Has a crush on her friend Aspenclaw. She is Goldenstorm’s closest friend and the only cat that can calm her down when she is angry about something.

-Has an apprentice, Eelpaw. He is pretty shy and melancholic; Goldenstorm makes him feel confident and loved since she is one of the only cats willing to listen to him and praise him.

-She spends a lot of time with her sibling, Asterleaf, and feels really proud of having them as their seer.

 àAsterleaf is the complete opposite of their mother. If it wasn’t for their beautiful spotted fur, one would think that they are Garlicface’s offspring instead of Lichenstream’s. Serious, dedicated, kind of a narcissist, religious and cunning, Asterleaf decided that their path had already been told by the gods and left their life as a warrior apprentice to join that of a seer apprentice. Considered one of the best seers their clan has to offer, Asterleaf has climbed to the highest of clan hierarchy by working extremely hard. He feels absolutely self-confident and can and will interrupt or disrespect those who dare proving him wrong. Asterleaf is known as a rather vengeful and jealous cat that knows pretty well how to hold a grudge. quick to jump to conclusion, he does hardly ever fail on their guesses. He is pretty bad with kits and apprentices who consider him a scary and shady. Extremely perceptive of his surroundings, Asterleaf always has all of their senses fixated on looking for omens to read or signs to interpret.

-Has a rather strong rivalry with Tansyfur, who was mentored seer at the same time as them. Tansyfur, with her pretty face and good mannerism, has won over the hearts of apprentices, queens and their mentor making Asterleaf completely jealous. They detest her with a burning passion even if the molly just wants to be friends.

-Their mentor, Yewheart, gets pretty fed up with Asterleaf’s narcissism. Both cats are extremely opinionated and will defend their ideas with fangs and claws making them clash continuously. Even if their interactions could be better, Asterleaf looks up to their mentor and hopes to, one day, make them proud.

-Doesn’t have the best relationship with their mother who they consider lazy and not worth their time, they prefer spending time with their father or Mudflower even if the latest would prefer them staying away from the nursery.

-Has a good relationship with Minnowcloud who they consider discreet and joyful to spend time with.

-Got his nose scar after telling Mudflower that one of her kits would grow up to be a poorly skilled warrior. She did not like it at all. He has been prohibited the entrance in the nursery since then.

àGarlicface is the current deputy. A complete narcissist, intelligent, sly, ambitious, serious and extremely responsible Garlicface meets all of his clan beauty standards. A competent father and warrior, Garlicface will make a great leader one day. He is a really good speaker and knows how to pacify rival clans with his soft and melodious voice. Charming and self-confident Garlicface made his way upwards by working hard and sticking to important figures since a very young age. Garlicface excels at running and would have been named –foot hadn’t he chosen –face. Always over-working himself, Garlicface has become quite neurotic and believes to see treachery everywhere. Rather loving and prone to romanticism, Garlicface is quick to fall in love and quick to change his mind about others. His constant love affairs leave him sad for a couple of days until he is ready to search for love again. He loves the warrior code like a mother loves his kittens and would absolutely never break a rule of it.

-He firmly believes that Lichenstream hides a secret but prefers not to think about it as he believes that it is the side of him that misses Bluenose who talks and not his brain.

-Had a relationship with Bluenose (siring Minnowcloud, Volefur and Fallowfang), Mothclaw (siring Blackpaw, Sootpaw and Acornpaw) and a loner called Misty (siring two kits, one of which joined the clans as Fogpaw).

-Feels extremely proud of his small family, he raised his kits on his own with Mudflower’s help. He spends as much time as possible with them and, as a result, is really close to them.

-Had a crush on Mudflower but the molly knew better than to mingle with him.

-Has had two mentors: Campionfoot who died before he could finish his apprenticeship and Plumpelt.

-Feels confused about Bluenose, some days he misses her some days he detests her as much as she does him. He considers her lazy, untrustworthy, neglectful and not a real warrior but misses the days they were on good terms. Back when they were mates, he expected her to become more collected as her constants goings and comings where affecting his popularity within the clan. Bluenose did not like this, of course, and after many arguments they broke up to never speak to each other again.

àMinnowcloud is a daydreamer. Often lost in thought she is quite the mysterious cat; she gets the weirdest ideas and her clanmates have a hard time understanding her. Adding to this idea, she likes to talk in riddles making her understanding even more difficult. Always calm and collected she tends to make everyone feel at peace and is often found calming anxious cats. An extremely motherly cat she tends to spend most of her time around kits helping new queens with their litters. Is known as one of the best mentors in the clan, she knows how to raise collected and polite warriors even if her apprentices have a hard time at the beginning getting used to her constants riddles. Much like her father, she is a romantic cat that enjoys spending quality time with her mate. She is a great story-teller and loves inventing new ones to teach life lessons to the clan’s kits.

-Has an obsession with white fur which she considers pure and pretty. Her obsession goes as far as, for moons, searching for a white cat outside of her clan that could sire her offspring. She finally found him looking through the outskirts of the territory. She birthed her beloved bundles of joy: Laurelpaw, Hollypaw, Lilypaw and Hemlockpaw. Her mate, Antwhisker, loves them as if they were his own.

-Showed interest in the seer rank but decided against since the clan already had one seer and two seer apprentices and she really wanted to become mother at some point.

-Constantly helps her father feel better when he overstresses himself soothing him and helping him sleep while she washes over him. Has a good relationship with Bluenose tough doesn’t really consider her her mother rather considering Mudflower.

-Treats Volefur like a kit and protects him constantly making him feel better and helping him with his trauma.

-Has a really close relationship with Asterleaf and often talk about legends, spirits and gods being Minnowcloud the first cat Asterleaf goes to talk to when they find out about a sign.

àVolefur used to be happy-go-lucky cat that loved to go out in adventure with Fallowfang. Optimistic, cheerful, a jokester and gullible cat that changed suddenly when he got hit by a car that badly damaged his leg and tail. Since then he has stopped going out being extremely scared of the outdoors he spends most of his time by his sister, mate (Snailcloud) or father’s side. Has problems with sleep since then; he dreams about cars that follow him to the camp and hit everyone there. One of the only things that help him cheer up is looking through his collection of pretty pebbles and feathers; since he no longer feels like he can go out, his brother is helping him bringing him new ones. Even tough traumatized, he is confident that he will be able of keeping up with his warrior’s duties in no time.

-Has been thinking about changing his name to Brokenleg.

-His mother tries to spend as much time as she can with him tough, with Garlicface always around, she has it difficult.

-His family and mate have been taking them to small trips around camp and surroundings.

-Has had two apprentices: Magpiepaw who received the name Magpiestream and Ivypaw. Magpiestream shows a great respect for her mentor and visits him daily while Ivypaw, who he was mentoring at the time of the accident, feels terrified at the thought of losing his mentor.

-Yewheart predicted that he will live on without problem even though Asterleaf was quick to contradict their mentor. Volefur is still confident in his recovery.

àFallowfang is a fierce, brave, rather anxious and quick-witted cat that loves venturing into the forest as much as he can to avoid the very crowded clan camp. Both a skilled fighter and hunter, Fallowfang feels overly confident in his skills, enough to venture into loner territory and come out as victorious from any battle. Since young, when his anxiety was at his highest, he has dreamt about becoming a loner so he wouldn’t have to worry about interaction all that much. He is extremely sensitive about what his family has to say about him. Sometimes he can be quite childish and is known for his tantrums. When faced with too many tasks or too many social interactions he becomes cranky and sad and his anxiety makes him completely shut down, when this happens, only his sister and a good walk can help him recover. He has the closest relationship with Volefur often taking him out with him and being one of the only cats whose presence he can tolerate for a long time.

-Sired Toadpelt’s offspring: Redkit, Gingerkit, Foxkit, Buzzardkit and Commakit.

-Admires his mother and has gone out with her in adventures more than once.

-Thinks that he is making his father worry about him since he keeps wishing to become a loner.

-Is attracted to a kittypet that lives nearby one of his favorite hunting territories.

-Has proven to be a great climber chasing birds and squirrels into their territory tough prefers to fish and hunt mice over any other prey.

-Is a great fighter tough fighting makes him feel uncomfortable.

-has never attended a gathering.

-has one apprentice, Leechpaw, who is very silent and absent making both of them feel comfortable around each other.

-Has multiple scars due to various battles.

-At the moment he has postponed his warrior’s duties to care for his brother 24h the day until he feels confident and recovered enough as to return to his duties.

Leslie is PC Principal’s daughter

I kind of have a strange headcanon which says that PC Principal is Leslie Meyers’s father,but I’ll try to resume it.

On April the 25th of 2015, PC Principal is just a 33-years old man who is in search for a job in some place that needs Political Correctness. He feels that he has to do something for lesbian couples/women with a sterile husband,and so he goes to a sperm bank to donate his seed. But,during the night,ADS break in the clinic and steal his spermatozoons.

The ADS take the sperm sample to their leader, Caitlyn Jenner, who takes one of her cells and makes it fecondate with the sperm before putting the embryo inside a woman Called Claudia Meyers,kidnapped by the ADS only a few days before. The ADS use on the woman a pregnancy accelerator,and In a few days,the embryo develops into a baby girl with black hair and green eyes called Leslie Meyers.

Later,the newborn baby girl is put inside a growth accelerator and after a couple of hours, she is turned into a full, grown up, 9-years old girl. Jenner puts a piece of her soul inside Leslie and begins abusing her, physically and mentally, even telling that her lies about who her real father was.

During her staying at the South Park Elementary, she is often kept prisoner in a basement and tortured by sticking a fork on her hand with tape and threatening her to put the fork in the electric socket. The picture in which there were Leslie on the swing and PC behind her was actually photoshopped, because Leslie has never met him in person until he arrived in South Park.

In the episode 10 of season 19, at the Gun Show, PC “kills” Leslie by slamming his fist inside her,but he only kills Caitlyn’s soul inside the child. She stays in a Limbo-like Dimension for some time until December the 15th of 2017,when the war against the ADS is at its peak. She comes back to life and discovers some interesting medical papers...

She eventually wounds herself in order to lose blood and show everyone that she’s not an ad anymore, and shows to the battling town the medical cards... Everyone is shocked in seeing that under the voice “Father” PC Principal’s name is written, but the most shocked is PC... He just can’t accept the fact that Leslie is his unknown daughter and that he killed her...

But the girl explains him everything and they all unite the forces,along with the Canadians to defeat the evil threat. She even tries to protect Principal Victoria from getting hurt,since she’s 9 months pregnant with her and PC’s child. Both PC,Victoria and Leslie begin getting along day after day...

Later,on December the 20th, Leslie betrays Caitlyn and in the flash that follows,the Internet is reset and Leslie expects her death;but she wakes up in a hospital bed and the first thing that she sees are PC Principal holding her left hand and Principal Victoria caressing her head. She looks herself in the reflection of her father’s sunglasses,and notices that her hair are shorter than before,now they arrive at her shoulders. It’s Christmas Day, and PC asks her the most beautiful question she has ever heard in her life... PC asks Leslie to be his daughter, and she accepts!

A few days later, PC and Victoria get married and Leslie gets to be a flower girl in a beautiful yellow dress. Later, on Janaury the 14th, Leslie hears her stepmother screaming:she’s giving birth! She sneaks near her parents’bedroom door and watches the paramedics helping Victoria to get to the hospital with the newborn Stanley Kyle. The next day, she goes to the hospital to hold her baby brother for the first time, and in that moment,the knows something for sure: she has a family that she loves, and that loves her back.

OPM Manga Update 216 Review: Guys You Shouldn’t Meet

We’re back baby!  After a one month holiday that wasn’t a holiday, Murata is back to eating, drinking, and breathing One-Punch Man. A new anime season is in the works, he’s busy with edits for Volume 27, due out on the 4th of November, and he’s working on an animation... something tells me that whichever studio is working on Season 3, Murata is going to be much more involved. No mangling his baby on his watch, nuh-uh.

And we have this chapter. It looks like a quiet beginning, carrying on pretty much where we left off last chapter but it’s full of explosive promise. So, guys we don’t want to meet...

Story: Too Bad

The chapter opens with a trio of heroes ringing on the doorbell of an apartment in the Hero Association HQ. Webcomic readers know them as Butterfly DX, Chain n’ Toad, and Forte; manga readers have only met Chain n’ Toad properly and have seen the other two only in passing. The new guy has moved in and hasn’t come to greet them after three days, so they’re here to introduce themselves and maybe cadge a few snacks while they’re at it. As they ring more and more insistently, the door finally opens... to reveal KING!

King is himself here to see the occupant of the apartment, and as the trio make no secret of their astonishment tells them they’re out of luck.  They leave and King wonders where the heck Saitama has gone to.

The answer is, where we the readers left him, looking for his home with Genos.  But I get ahead of myself.  Before we catch up with the pair, we see another being picking its way over the rubble that used to be called City Z. It’s Pig God, still in hospital scrubs, frantically digging in the rubble. A helicopter has been following him and as the functionary on board pleads with Pig God to stop what he’s doing and return to the lab already, the hero runs off.  The chopper lands and another hero on board, Air, takes off after Pig God, the functionary pleading in vain that he not pick a fight with Pig God.  Heh, good luck with that!

There’s a fourth party in this field and that is Black Sperm... well, Black Spermatozoon, because now there’s only one of him.  As Air challenges Pig God, he hides frantically, praying that neither hero notices him for he’ll be a very dead monster if they do. Fortunately, there’s a sound, a sound that reveals itself to be the sorry remains of what had once been Evil Ocean Water. Air doesn’t hesitate to throw his boomerang at it, not knowing the nature of this monster and for his troubles, is nailed clean through his neck by a jet of water.  Pig God swallows every last drop of Evil Natural Water. It shoots him full of holes, but he digests it nonetheless. Finally satisfied, Pig God walks off to find the nearest ramen shop, leaving the chopper to medivac Air.

Lost and discouraged, Black Sperm stumbles on, racking his mind as to what he could possibly do to survive long enough to recover some cell count.  There’s a noise up ahead and peeking over a ridge, he finds...

... Saitama and Genos. It’s not much later in the day to where the last chapter left them.  Saitama has just triumphantly hauled the entire apartment that used to contain his home out of the muck it had sunk into. Black Sperm recognises him as the one who took Awakened Garou out and he hides even more desperately than before. [Aside: this shouldn’t surprise anyone. Black Sperm has always been exceptionally observant, being the only one who noticed Tatsumaki give Homeless Emperor the slip.] Could it get any worse?

It does; for suddenly, Genos has noticed something. Certain that his time has come at last, Black Sperm is petrified but something else has caught the demon cyborg’s interest and the latter pulls out: A DOG!  Overgrown Pochi was there too after all; only, now he’s merely a large dog.  Black Sperm turns to go when he realises that far from being killed, the terrifying bald guy is instead playing with it. Could it be that this guy doesn’t like needless violence after all?  Something gets Genos’s interest and the latter leaves.  Taking his chance, Black Sperm pops out from behind the rubble and goes skipping up to Saitama, hoping against hope that his hunch is right.

That’s where the chapter ends.

Meta: Unwelcome meetings all round

Looks like this chapter lives up to its title.  King was definitely the last guy Forte and co were expecting (or wanted to meet. A little light hazing to make clear the pecking order was what they were about, and instead they got a reminder of where they actually stand, which is about knee-high to a small dachshund. Speaking about pecking order, Air looking to capitalize on the S-Class being humbled is so very human (what? Since when did human mean nice?). It’s a thing that merits some more unpicking in a bit.

Elsewhere, the day has been full of people Black Sperm didn’t want to meet, Saitama especially. Genos can already tell that he regrets bringing the dog to Saitama’s attention. And Saitama is probably not going to be too thrilled about being approached by Black Sperm but we’ll see soon enough.  Come to that, Black Sperm being around is not good news for the world; he is Not Dimple, no matter how he looks.

Matters of procedure

The way Forte and co are harassing Saitama implies that Genos has not yet been to Saitama's new place. It’s typical for a newcomer to a place to go and greet the more established residents with some snacks in hand, so it’s not surprising that they’ve come to pay Saitama a visit after three days of nothing.  Were Genos there, they would definitely know about a Class S hero moving next door to them, and Genos would totally have come round to greet them... with a flamethrower. A little terror makes for very polite neighbours.

In the interregnum between the end of ‘Daybreak’ and the beginning of ‘What Was Gained’, it doesn’t look like Saitama and Genos have spent that much time in each other’s company. Understandably, Saitama has had to rebuild from nothing save the clothes on his back; that’s very all-consuming. Genos has places to be and things to do that don’t involve Saitama. Don’t ask about the watch/phone. It might be the latest iteration of communicators that the Hero Association are trying out, or it might be Genos being Genos.

Matters of order

It doesn’t take much for rumours to spread, does it? The long-simmering resentment that other heroes have toward the S-Class is beginning to come to the boil at last. The Hero Association has blatantly played favourites: Class S heroes haven’t just been paid exceptionally well (for a hero that is), they’ve also been given perks denied to others, been exempted from expectations of good conduct ruthlessly applied to others (thank you Exma for that explanation), allowed to work as little as they please without question or penalty, and held up as just being better. 

A-Class heroes have felt the injustice particularly keenly. It’s not that they’re stupid -- everybody can appreciate that some shoulders are broader than others -- but nobody wants to feel that their efforts are scorned. This is especially true of heroism. Heroes may not work because somebody says please, but they sure do for the thank you: feeling like you’re having some positive impact is fundamental.  So far, only Sekingar appears to have seen the light and it’s early days yet.

It doesn’t take a lot of pepper and salt to turn ‘Garou beat up several S-Class heroes’ into ‘Garou beat all the S-Class heroes up’. Come to that, if Pig God has had to break out of the lab, a lot of Class S must still be laid up, same as most of the other heroes who attended the scene. Their mythos of invincibility has been broken. Given the opportunity, it’s irresistible that Air would look to take Pig God down a peg or thirty.

It was inevitable that the HA’s habit of pitting hero against hero would be a flock of chickens that’ll come home to roost. They’d better fear the chickens with the label ‘We do want to be heroes, but we don’t see why we have to do it at the Hero Association’ that are also out there. They’ve taken the service and hard work of heroes for granted and not listened to their concerns.

Matters of disorder

We’ve barely started the new arc, but the pot is already on the fire! The prospect of Garou being parachuted into what is a fragile situation isn’t going to help anyone, least of all the public that needs heroes so badly.  Psykos is still at large; that’s going to be one hell of a manhunt when she’s found to still be alive. One wonders why the HA has summoned Genos... it’s probably not to tell him that he’s wonderful and should take a month’s holiday all expenses paid. 

The bigger problems are still out there. The destruction of City Z looks to be total, with a permanently moved coastline. Questions are going to be asked. We still have a new land with all the new troubles it’ll bring. And somewhere out there, Drive Knight and the Organization (not saying they’re related, but who knows?) are still scheming something. And most monsters have nothing to do with the Monster Association.  They’re not going to be going easy on humanity.

Ah well, in the meantime, let’s enjoy one man and his new dog:

The Garbha Upanishad: Garbhopanishad meaning “Esoteric Doctrine over the Embryo” is one of the minor Upanishads, listed number 17 in the modern anthology of 108 Hindu Upanishadic texts. The Upanishad gives details of the elements (essential parts and principles) and various features of the body and gives detailed explanation on the evolution of the embryo in the mother’s womb. Paul Deussen et al. consider this Upanishad on the garbha or human embryo to be more like “a manual on physiology or medicine” than a spiritual text, with the exception of a passage which includes a number of statements about the fetus’ awareness, including the assertion that the fetus has knowledge of its past lives as well as intuitive sense of good and bad, which it forgets during the process of birth.

Etymology: The term Garbha literally means “womb” and “relating to gestation”. The text’s title means “esoteric doctrine relating to gestation, womb, fetus”. Whatever is hard in the body is constituted of earth, whatever is liquid is of water, what is warm is from fire, what moves in the body derives from the essence of air, and the hollow in the body is the essence of space. The earth principle provides it with support, the water necessary for assimilation of food, the fire essence for illumination, the wind principle distributes of substances with the body, while ether provides avakasha (room within).

The five objects of sense are related to ear, skin, eye, tongue, nose. The body discriminates and knows by Buddhi (intellect), fancies and thinks through Manas (mind) and speaks with speech. There are five tastes, representing food it needs for development, and these are sweet, saline, bitter, pungent and astringent.

The body goes through six stages from existence in its life, and these are creation as fetus, birth, growth, maturity, decay and death. It develops six “chakras (wheels)”, which denote “the dhamani (nerves), mūlāḍhāra, svāḍhishthāna, maṇipūraka, anāhaṭa, viśuḍḍhi, and ājñā.” Then six gunas and seven notes of sounds, which are combined to form sounds, some perceivable and some non.

Section 2: How is human embryo formed..?? Seven colour constituent elements (dhatus) in the body are, states the text, white, red, opaque, smoke colored, yellow, brown and pale colored. From white which is food rasas (juice, sap, essences) develops the blood (red), out of blood develops the flesh (opaque), from flesh develops the fat (smoke colored), from fat develop the bones (yellow), inside bones develops the bone marrow (brown), and from marrow develops the semen (pale colored). Section 3: How does the embryo develop..?? The Upanishad gives details about how the conception takes place in the womb and how it develops over a period of nine months. After the union takes place in a particular (Ritu)Cycle of menses, the growth of the body in the embryo on the first day is a “nodule”. It becomes a “bubble” by the seventh night; in 15 nights it becomes a “lump”; in a month’s time the embryo is hard; by the end of two months, head is formed; parts of the feet appear by three months; stomach, the hips and ankle appear by the fourth month; the vertebral column shapes up by the fifth month; the face, nose and ears appear by the sixth month; the seventh month is when fetus is imbibed with Jiva or soul (Atman, in the eighth month has all body parts, and fully developed in the ninth month. The fetus grows and is nourished by what the mother eats and drinks, through a vein, states the text.

The Upanishad asserts its theory for the gender of the child, birth defects and the birth of twins. It states that dominance of male semen results in a male child while a female child is born when there is surfeit of female or mother’s semen. When semen of both male and female are equally strong birth of a hermaphrodite occurs. Birth defects are asserted to result when either parent is suffering from anxiety and trauma at the time of conception. Twins of same gender develop when the shukra and shonita burst into two; however, when only shukra bursts into two or when the parents copulate often, then twins of mixed gender may be formed. Development and birth of a single embryo is most common among humans, states the text. However, up to Quintuplets are observed among humans, asserts the ancient text. . Section 4: What does the embryo know..?? By the eighth month, states Garbha Upanishad, the embryo knows its past birth, meditates and perceives Om, gains the intuitive knowledge of good and bad.

The text states that in the last weeks of its development, the fetus remembers the good and bad karma and being born anew through many births, resolves to remember Maheshwara (Shiva) and Narayana (Vishnu), resolves to study and practice Samkhya-Yoga after birth because all these bestow the reward of liberation. The fetus resolves, states the Upanishad, to meditate on Brahman after birth. However, when the fetus is in the process of birth, states the text, forget its resolutions.

Developments after birth : The text, states T.M.P. Mahadevan, asserts that soul resides in the human body and longs for liberation.

The Garbha Upanishad posits the question, “Why is it called Sharira (the body)..??”, and in response states that because in it Shriyante (exists) three fires – the fire for knowledge, the fire for seeing and the gastric fire. The text uses similes of yajna (fire) ritual to describe how cosmic processes are repeated in the temple of body, with food as offering, mind the Brahman and seeking of the soul (Atman) as the goal of the ritual of life.

The text then abruptly jumps to enumerating anatomy of a developed human body, likely from lost chapters of the manuscript. It asserts, that in a human adult, “the head has four skull bones, and in them there are on each side sixteen sockets; in the body there are 107 joints, 180 sutures, 900 sinews, 700 veins, 500 muscles, 360 bones and 45 million hairs”. Further, enumerates the Upanishad, the heart of an adult human male weighs 364 grams, tongue weighs 546 grams, bile in the body 728 grams, semen produced is 182 grams, fat 1,456 grams, and excrement generated is uncertain in amount because it depends on what and how much the body eats and drinks.
