A lo largo de la sesión se tocarán temas como la identidad, los espejos, el narcisismo, la autoficción, el público y la identificación con otro, el retrato robot, los archivos policiales y las identificaciones por perfil racial, o la zoomificación y las videollamadas, etc.

Esta actividad forma parte del Festival Panoràmic 2023: Repensar el rostro.

Rookie-Critic's Top 25 Films of 2022: Honorable Mentions - Argentina, 1985 (dir. Santiago Mitre)

I know next to nothing about Latin/South American history, so imagine my surprise that as recently as the 1980s, Argentina was under fascist rule. Argentina, 1985 seeks to educate the world (which is going through something of a fascist uprising at the moment) about how horrible it was, and how hard it was to put the people responsible for numerous human rights violations during the fascist regime behind bars, even after a democratic government had replaced it. at 140 minutes long, this is a film that never once feels its length, and never once misses a beat. I honestly could have done with even more. This one is just an all-around highly well-made courtroom drama, and an educational one, at that.

La sélection du Portugal n’a pas fait de cadeau au Luxembourg lors de la sixième journée des qualifications au prochain Euro de football. Pelota de trapo (1948)

Un día como hoy, pero de 1948, se estrena en el bonaerense cine Metropolitan la película "Pelota de trapo" dirigida por Leopoldo Torres Ríos y con guión de Leopoldo Torre Nilsson, Jerry Gómez y el uruguayo Ricardo Lorenzo “Borocotó”.

El filme describe la historia de un crack de fútbol que vuelve al barrio donde es ídolo, pero una afección cardíaca le impide continuar su carrera. Con Armando Bo en el papel principal, actuaron además varios futbolistas como Higinio García, Norberto "Tucho" Méndez, Vicente de la Mata, Guillermo Stábile y los periodistas Félix Daniel Frascara, Fioravanti y Enzo Ardigó.

Desenfrenada y prematura carrera por la sucesión gubernamental

Maremágnum » RICARDO | CASTILLO BARRIENTOS ) Acapulco Press El estado de Guerrero comenzó a navegar en turbulentas aguas políticas, debido a los prematuros destapes de aspirantes a las candidaturas partidistas para suceder a la gobernadora Evelyn Salgado Pineda, al frente de la administración pública estatal, a casi tres años que concluya su periodo de gobierno. El inusitado escenario no se había presentado en anteriores sucesiones gubernamentales con bastante anticipación, propiciándose una desenfrenada carrera de ambiciones políticas perturbadoras, que están generando inestabilidad y distracción, de los ancestrales problemas de Guerrero. Se está confeccionando una larga y endeble lista de suspirantes de ambos géneros, con mayor presencia las ante precandidatas y ante precandidatos de MORENA, con presencia nacional y local, como la senadora Beatriz Mojica, las subsecretarias del gobierno federal, Esthela Damián Peralta, Rocío Barcena Molina y la alcaldesa porteña, Abelina López Rodríguez. Por el frente masculino figuran, el senador Félix Salgado Macedonio, Arturo Martinez Nuñez, secretario de Arte y Cultura del CEN, el coordinador de la JUCOPO, Jesús Urióstegui García, el presidente del comité estatal, Jacinto González Varona, Ricardo Salinas Méndez, oficial mayor del gobierno estatal, el diputado local, Pablo Sandoval Ballesteros y el senador suplente, Arturo Pérez. Por el lado del PRI, se encamina solitario el senador Manuel Añorve Baños, coordinador parlamentario en el Senado de la República y factótum del PRI-Guerrero y prominente aliado de Alejandro “Alito” Moreno Cárdenas, presidente “vitalicio” del CEN del PRI. Por Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) existen dudas, si el ex alcalde chilpancingueño, Mario Moreno Arcos, se mantendrá firme en este partido o elevará anclas para vestir la casaca verde del PVEM, con el inconveniente que tendría mano, el alcalde de Iguala, Erik Catalán Rendón, postulado por este partido a la alcaldía tamarindera. El controvertido empresario, Pedro Segura Valladares, podría obtener por segunda ocasión, la candidatura del PT. Por el casi inexistente PRD, entraría a la puja por segunda ocasión, el inefable, Evodio Velázquez Aguirre. Los del PAN, ni sus luces hasta el momento. Por la libre circula a pasos agigantados, el rector Javier Saldaña Almazán, quien buscaría alzarse con la candidatura morenista con el apoyo de la gobernadora Salgado Pineda y del senador Félix Salgado, además del eventual apoyo de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, en compensación al gran activismo político desplegado con las huestes universitarias, durante la campaña presidencial de la actual mandataria nacional. La mayoría de los aspirantes están ”desatados”, recorriendo el territorio suriano en tareas proselitistas, con el afán de darse a conocer para aglutinar a simpatizantes y posicionarse, cuando se realicen las encuestas de MORENA. Sin embargo, deberían de calmar sus “ansias de novillero”, a fin de no obstruir y afectar con esa insana dinámica política, la marcha de la administración pública estatal. Marea Baja.- Todavía no existen noticias de la conclusión del Hospital de Especialidades del ISSSTE, en las ex instalaciones del Centro de Convenciones, prometida su inauguración para antes que concluyera su mandato, el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador. El director general del ISSSTE, Martí Batres Guadarrama, todavía no hecho ninguna referencia sobre este nuevo nosocomio. Se tiene conocimiento que los trabajos se encuentran muy avanzados para qué en el transcurso del segundo semestre, esté en condiciones de entrar en operación. 😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

Not really. Playfully mean to myself and then by extension them? Yeah. The whole situation with Roberto proposing to Alma and then me turning it on its head to...wait, that was to be playfully mean to Bruno. It all comes back on itself, ok.

🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?

So. Many. (Mis)calculations, start to finish. El Brujo Loco being hideous at Vittoria's quince in Prophet. José's apparently bottomless well of deadpan snark. This bit with the kids in Talk of the Town (which I will get back to someday s2g):

“No, Cami, they’re not,” Isa assured him. “But apparently she did, and that’s interesting. And Abuela Beatriz said one time your papá threw our papá in the river for stealing a bottle of aguardiente when he was sixteen. And that when Mariano’s Tío José broke his leg our mamá would only feed him extra spicy food because he broke up with your mamá on her seventeenth birthday.”

“...Mariano’s Tío José dated Mamá?” Camilo was so shocked he shifted back into himself. Then, with growing horror: “Mamá went out with guys that weren’t Papá ?”

“Mariano has a Tío José?” Mirabel yelped.

Isabela rolled her eyes. “One guy.” Beside her, Dolores flinched. “And yes. Abuela Beatriz says he left about twenty-five years ago.”

During the brief pause that followed none of them looked toward the dark archway, the dusty steps, and the dead door just around the corner from their hiding spot. Camilo very badly wanted to because the moment pretty much demanded it, but he refrained. Proving to Isa that he could be sneaky overrode his drive for narrative satisfaction.

“Ay, you didn’t say the priest was José Guzmán!”

“The priest is who?” someone squawked, then a different voice called “Mama went out with a priest?”

“He wasn’t a pr- Camilo, how do you know that?”

And

“Oh-ho!” A young man in a yellow ruana approached them and slung his arms around Mirabel and Antonio. “Did Tío Bruno go out with the priest too? Escandalo!”

🤲 Would you please share a snippet of a wip?

The night before he’d had to choose between following Julieta and Bruno to ensure they were alright or going home with his family. He’d chosen the latter, and Pepa had come with them and graced his bed for the first time.

(Of course he’d been a gentleman and spent the night in Vittoria’s while she stayed with her parents, but Félix had made sure to take a moment to appreciate the sight before waking her to tell her the plan he and Ricardo had come up with.)

Donald King (born August 20, 1931) is a boxing promoter, known for his involvement in several historic boxing matchups. He has been a controversial figure, due to a manslaughter conviction and civil cases against him, as well as allegations of dishonest business practices by numerous boxers.

He was born in Cleveland, where he attended school and graduated from John Adams High. After dropping out of Kent State University, he ran an illegal bookmaking operation out of the basement of a record store on Kinsman Road and was charged with killing two men in incidents 13 years apart. The first was determined to be a justifiable homicide after it was found that he shot Hillary Brown in the back and killed him while he was attempting to rob one of his gambling houses. He was convicted of second-degree murder for the second killing after he was found guilty of stomping to death an employee. While he served his term at the Marion Correctional Institution, he began self-education; according to his own words, he read everything in the prison library he could get his hands on.

He was pardoned by Ohio Governor Jim Rhodes, with letters from Jesse Jackson, Coretta Scott King, George Voinovich, Art Modell, and Gabe Paul, among others, being written in support of him.

His career highlights include, among multiple other enterprises, promoting “The Rumble in the Jungle” and “Thrilla in Manila”. He has promoted some of the most prominent names in boxing, including Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Tomasz Adamek, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Chris Byrd, John Ruiz, Julio César Chávez, Ricardo Mayorga, Andrew Golota, Bernard Hopkins, Félix Trinidad, Roy Jones Jr., Azumah Nelson, and Marco Antonio Barrera.
