Yo, so been thinking about P5 (unsurprising) and I wanna know what y'all think the Phantom Thieves (and associates) would be as animals. Gonna share my thoughts and if anyone's got any input I'd love to hear it. Joker: Some kind of cat, obviously, I like the idea of him being a leopard though (a black panther even more specifically). I don't exactly know how to articulate why a leopard, but yeah. I just don't know if he'd be a house cat, seems a bit too tame, I guess. Ryuji: Great Dane. Loyal, sweet, intimidating as shit on first approach and when barking. Also historically used for both hunting and as guard dogs and that works well for Ryuji, I think. Also, in my personal experience, they can be as friendly as a Golden Retriever, but just take a little longer to warm up to people than they do. Might just be that one dog tho lol Ann: She strikes me as a house cat tbh, but like, a Maine Coon. Yes I am aware of the irony of her being the house cat and Joker being the panther but whatever. Yusuke: I kind of like the idea of a crane, but honestly I dunno. Can't seem to find the vibe. Makoto: More dog vibes, like the idea of her being a mastiff maybe, can't pinpoint a species more specific than that at the moment. Futaba: Bat, thinking fruit bat. Idk why tbh, think I just like the imagery of her wrapping her wings around herself when nervous. Haru: Poodle I think. Beginning of the game she's largely just treated as a thing to be paraded around, but eventually she breaks free from that and finds her own purpose, which kind of reminds me of the fact that due to the Poodle's intelligence, they are starting to be trained more frequently as service dogs. Idk I think it works. Akechi: Also have no idea tbh. Haven't liked a lot of the options I've seen people use. Sumi: Haven't finished Royal yet, admittedly, so I don't fully know, but.. bird. Some kind of bird. She has trapped vibes. Parrot, maybe?

molossus rufus , also known as the black mastiff bat , is a bat species known to be impacted by the polyctenid parasitic bug hesperoctenes fumarius .
the iucn has declared it a least concern species , meaning that the population is presumably large , and is facing no current risk of rapid population decline or extinction . have a great day :)
Tumblr media
I’ve never gotten a bat species in my inbox before! Thanks for the trivia. That’s a very cute bat!
You have a great day, too.

Frank! What do you think about this fellow, the black mastiff bat?
Tumblr media
That thing is weird.
All of the bat species I've seen closely look pretty similar -- the only visual difference is that the giant fruit bat has giant ears, and that's not something you usually pick up on if you're outside and they're in the trees and you're not walking right up to them.
Here's one of the last pictures I saw of one up close, while we were walking down the road at night and they were feeding on the ripe fruit off trees:
Tumblr media
Very round, very smooth, very shiny, and apparently good at predicting what a casual night-walker is going to do at any given time. It was watching us, and when it saw me was standing still it froze and then re-initiated its batlike glide around some fruit until I resumed walking and then it moved in my direction, like it was catching up to me.
So I'm assuming it's one of the kinds of bat that uses echolocation, since it would be weird to be "good at predicting" what someone thinks they're going to do -- even subconsciously good at predicting what they're going to do would be weird, because people have all these different ways of walking and even different ways of stopping and starting a stride, and the air seems to have a hard time doing any of this stuff (cf. the inability of winds to "see" wavelengths) so any animal that could do this should be able to pick out other animals, too, and not just small things like fruit bats.
If I had to guess, I would say that this one is the black mastiff bat. It would make sense if they were more common than the giant fruit bats. (As the source of that picture says, they're not as well studied.)

For the writing prompt this week, my first notice was my dog kicking me in his sleep at 4:00 AM. Once I got up, the weather was changing outside, and the wind caught my attention. Finally, i noticed the disorienting feeling of being awake before your brain is ready. These all contributed to a little side journey for characters from my WIP on the Gulf of Mexico right around 1810:
Juliette sprang to full wakefulness like a cat jumping off a ledge. There was a moment of waiting. A first, tentative second when preparation looked like hesitation. Then the leap came, elegant, well timed and purposeful.
The feeling of her big mastiff kicking her in the thigh made her smile. “You should end up on the floor if you keep having dreams like that, Jacques,” she said as she opened her eyes. “I could do with another hour of sleep.”
Outside the stern windows of her ship, there was a cloak of blackness. From her vantage point on her cot, she could not see the stars or moon. Her eyes were fooled into an illusion of the vessel floating in the dark with sea and sky merged into one. It was a disorienting imagining that made Juliette sit up. The stars were the lifeline of a ship in blue water. While the sun told noon and the orientation of east, west, north and south, true navigation happened under a night sky. Not seeing them was like going blind. Who would lead her precious Litha if they disappeared?
The captain stood, cold planking beneath her bare feet pulling her over into full wakefulness. Jacques watched his human as she padded to the windows. He could see more clearly in the dark, and he could hear the thing that was coming. Moving from the cot was not part of his plan just now.
“Where are you?” Juliette said to the sky and the clouds obscuring the stars. The disorienting blackness she thought she was only imagining appeared real. Listening was her next line of defense. If a sailor could not see what they needed, perhaps they could hear it. “The wind has shifted, Jacques.”
Again, the dog did not stir. If he could have spoken, he would have said as much when she awoke.
“I should be on deck.” Juliette had no trouble dressing in the dark. Her body knew where everything was in the small, almost cramped space of her sleeping cabin. As she pulled on a shirt and the baggy, skirt-like trousers sailors favored, she continued to watch the windows. Before she turned to hurry around the screen and into her main cabin she saw what she had hoped most to avoid.
Out on the far horizon, like some horrible mockery of a welcoming lighthouse, a flash of lightening touched the water. The blue bolt was unmistakable despite its momentary duration. Juliette began to count in her head, as any seaman would, until the growl of thunder was heard. The deep voice of the sky seemed far off as well, but not far enough for the captain’s liking.
“Hell and damn!” She swore as she tied the thick braid at the nape of her neck into a chignon to keep it out of her face in the wind. Then she ran at full speed out of her cabin. In the darkness below ships, Juliette was like a bat navigating by sound. She knew where everything was, and finding the ladder that took her up on deck required no thought at all.
Reaching the waist of Litha made the force of the storm all too apparent. When she retired to her cabin, only a kiss of wind had touched her cheek. Now warm, wet air blew all around, seeming to come from every direction. Juliette ground her teeth as she climbed up onto her quarterdeck.
Looking at the rigging, she could see they were prepared for the storm. Courses were set for steering but no other sails billowed out in the vicious wind. Again, the bark of thunder was heard. This time it was much closer.
“You men there.” The captain called out to the two men at the wheel of her brig. “What course are we set?”
“West, Madame,” one of the sailors, whose face was unrecognizable in the black night, called back.
“West?” Juliette muttered to herself. They had been headed north east when she fell asleep. She stepped to the binnacle, where the compass was encased in a glass and brass housing that allowed a lantern to burn within, even in the worst weather. Sure enough, they were on a westerly heading. “Where is Master St. Louis?”
Juliette’s question was lost in another plaintive belch of thunder. The sound was almost overhead and behind the ship, a rod of lightning struck the water like a glowing spear.
“West.” Juliette felt a kind of panicked calm come over her. She willed herself to breathe deep, but not fast, and to look everywhere before moving or speaking. Everything, though, seemed packed in dark cotton and the rain began to dump down from the hot sky. “It does not seem right.”
A moment later, the captain felt a hand on her arm. Looking down, she recognized the square, practical fingers in the light from the binnacle. “Javier,” she said as she met his handsome, sorrel eyes.
“I am here.” He smiled a warm, comfortable smile. “You are out of sorts. The storm crept up as you slept.”
“So I see. Why west now? We were headed home.”
Thunder was felt all around, as if the ship and not the sky was bellowing.
“We make for Matagorda.” Javier raised his voice to be heard. Then he stepped closer, putting his lips to her ear. “Only a short time now until we make the straight. I promise you, my love.”
“You are sure?” She looked at him again, searching his face in the flash of lightening.
He nodded. Juliette felt herself relax. The safe harbor would shield them from the misery of the storm. She trusted Javier to help her make certain that her dearest love – her ship – would get home safely a little later than sooner.

Baldur's Gate 3 characters in my crazy brain…
I didn't play Baldur's Gate 3 yet, I just watched some videos and screenshots and fan arts… so it's my feeling about it for now:
(Female characters only)
1.
Shadowheart and Isobel gave me a cats fight aura.
Tumblr media
Russian Blue Cats Xafi & Auri
Isobel is definitely a Russian blue, with the iconic smug smile.
Tumblr media
Question about black kitten turning grey
Shadowheart is a black smoke Norwegian Forest kitten. Yay, a KITTEN, but with a super serious "I'll ganna kill you with my cuteness" looking.
*
2.
Dame Aylin catched my eyes at first glance. She reminds me of my Lady Cousland (Dragon Age: Origins) - tall, strong, blonde, blue / silver armour.
Tumblr media
Fred
Aylin is a magnificent big cream long hair to me, the most regal cat you have seen, very likely.
Until…
Tumblr media
Gizmo
Aylin: Isobel!
OMG!!! #Aylin x Isobel is toooooo sweet to weak my teeth - it's perfect for my taste!
*
3.
I haven't gotten to know Lae'zel yet but soon…
Tumblr media
Learn About The Sphynx Cat Breed From A Trusted Veterinarian
She's so crazy cat CAT to me…
And I saw this amazing fan art made by @basketobread. So I think it's accurate enough?
*
4.
Karlach is the first BG3 character who grabbed my heart.
She's a Jaheira fan girl is a part of the reasons (Jaheira was my favourite character from BG1, for BG2 it was Nalia).
Tumblr media
Karlach looks like a reddest, and fiercest Tibetan mastiff you can imagine.
Tumblr media
Happy Puppy
But a most innocent puppy inside of her, so maybe a Golden Retriever?
5.
I don't know about Minthara for now either.
She's the first BG3 character who grabbed my eyes.
Tumblr media
Halloween Pet Costume: Black Bat
Something tells me she's soft on the inside.
6.
Jaheira is a mother bear, still.
Tumblr media
Polar bear mother with cubs in Wapusk National Park, Manitoba
You think a mother bear of this type?
No no…
Tumblr media
More like this…
Tumblr media
25 Of The Cutest Parenting Moments In The Animal Kingdom
And this.
7.
How could I forget another old fellow from BG1/2?
Tumblr media
Bats, facts and photos
Viconia, look! I found a soul clutching picture for you!
My friend didn't tell me if she killed in Shadowheart's personal quest or not (he didn't gotten this far), and I was curious insanely.
8.
Wait…
What do you mean I can't collect all the animals in the camp and spend all the time to talking to them, Larian?
I HATE you!!! :"(

Mythcraft Aiden
Tumblr media
Speedpaint Link: https://youtu.be/PGkdGYQ1R_M?si=aFBna0UHxyycozHO
I've got other characters for my Mythcraft Series and I'm thinking of uploading the rest of the characters from that series to here.
This is Aiden from MCSM. I decided to make Aiden based on the Camazotz myth. I wanted to make Aiden based on something in mythology that can fly since Jesse herself can also fly (There were other flying myths but I’ve already got an idea of who I want to use for some of those other myths). I wanted to make sure the two of them were somewhat on equal fighting levels. Especially since during season 1 episode 5 where it would be needed so the fight isn’t as easy as Jesse kicks Aiden off the sky Island platform and wins in like 2 seconds or she flys around and easily dodges all of Aiden’s attacks (That part of the game towards the end of the chapter is what I kept in mind when thinking about Aiden’s design when what I needed to keep in mind when picking the mythology to make Aiden as).
While looking at different myths I wanted to make sure that for each character the myth could closely match to the character in some form, or felt like it could possibly best suit them. The Camazotz is also known as the “Death Bat”. In Maya mythology a bat spirit served the underworld's lords. While the bat can be associated with night, death, and sacrifice. Now I didn’t stick to the sacrifice part of the Camazotz. But I mainly focused on the Night part with a few ideas from the death aspect.
I wanted to make sure that each character I worked on was based off of a different myth as I didn’t want to repeat any. I see Aiden fitting close to the role of Camazotz. Being a bit of the opposite of Jesse being more nocturnal and mischievous, being part bat I also used a bit of vampire bat inspiration. Where he needs to drink some blood once and a while to maintain a healthy diet but overall primarily sticks to eating fruits and insects. All and all it was interesting and fun learning about the Camazotz mythology and working on the design for Aiden.
For the bat references I was mainly looking at a species called Sinaloan Mastiff Bat. The images of the Sinaloan Mastiff all look adorable. These bats have long soft fur that ranges from a blackish color to dark brown, with some spots fading to a slightly lighter brown. Their faces have short fur or little to no fur in the area.
I haven’t drawn the moon before so this is the first time doing so, as well as I haven’t done a red sky in a long time. I do know with a red sky the background objects basically become completely black the further back you go. So it was fun practicing a red sky and everything again after doing only one long ago.
The next Mythcraft character I’ll work on will either be Maya or Gill. IDK which one at the moment but I’ll know once I’ve gotten the sketch of them done.

Random Polymorph
Bead of Random Polymorph
A glass marble whose swirling contents constantly change in color and pattern.
Wondrous item, rare
1 oz.
This small color-changing sphere measures ¾ of an inch in diameter and weighs an ounce. Typically, 1d4 + 4 beads are found together.
You can use an action to throw the bead up to 60 feet. The bead explodes on impact and is destroyed. Each creature within a 15-foot radius of where the bead landed must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be transformed.
To determine what each target is turned into, roll a d100 and refer to the table below.
-----
Wand of Random Polymorph
Wand, very rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)
1 lb.
This wand has 7 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges to cast the polymorph spell (Wis save DC 15) from it.
The wand regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed.
To determine what the target is turned into, roll a d100 and refer to the table below.

Note that there are some kinda joke options on the random table: Commoner, Bandit, Cultist, Skeleton
If the random polymorph is used on, you know, a human, what does this mean?
If this were something like Skyrim then you might replace their whole character model with something else, but in the context of D&D I think it's funnier if these are either a costume change accompanied with a change in stats and abilities (like the wizard goes POOF! and when the smoke clears is still standing there, just in different clothing and may no longer be able to do magic)(kind of obvious what this means for a skeleton, just still wearing the same clothes)
or the smoke clears and nothing visibly changes, but something about their identity has changed. Like:
You're fighting a knight, throw the bead, POOF!, the smoke clears and... they're still standing there, apparently unfazed. But then a messenger arrives and announces that the knight has been stripped of all titles and is now a commoner (though their stats do still change, but the players can't immediately see that).
The town guards are after you because of all the stealing you've been doing, they've got you cornered, you pull out your wand and point it at one of the guards, POOF! …still standing there, but now they have a sinister secret (cultist)
The sorcerer is charging up a big spell to blast you, you throw the bead, POOF! The sorcerer coughs slightly, their hands now notably free of ominous glowing energies, and right next to them on what you'd swear was previously a bare wall is a wanted poster with a picture of the former sorcerer in the exact same pose
Tumblr media
Like this (Bandit)
And it's up to you how Option 2. would apply to Skeleton. Option 1 would mean their skin poofs off, but Option 2 suggests that they are visibly unchanged, but their identity is now a skeleton wearing a meat suit. Or the players are now fighting both the sorcerer and the sorcerer's skeleton, who act individually I dunno, get weird with it

In this article, we will explore everything you need to know about wrinkly dogs, from their unique characteristics to their care requirements. We will also provide some tips on how to choose the right wrinkly dog breed for your lifestyle.
What Are Wrinkly Dog Breeds?
Wrinkly dog breeds are dogs that have an abundance of wrinkles or folds in their skin. These wrinkles are a result of selective breeding for specific physical features, and can be found in a variety of dog breeds. While some people find wrinkles to be cute or endearing, it's important to note that wrinkles can also pose health risks. Dogs with deep wrinkles may be more prone to skin infections, allergies, and other skin issues. It's essential to maintain proper hygiene and grooming habits to keep your wrinkly dog healthy.
Popular Wrinkly Dog Breeds
There are several popular wrinkly dog breeds, each with their unique characteristics and needs. Here are some of the most well-known wrinkly dog breeds: Shar Pei The Shar Pei is a Chinese breed known for its deep wrinkles and blue-black tongue. Care Requirements for Wrinkly Dogs
If you're considering adding a wrinkly dog to your family, it's essential to understand their care requirements. Here are some tips for taking care of your wrinkly dog: Grooming Wrinkly dogs require frequent grooming to maintain proper hygiene and prevent skin issues. You should bathe your wrinkly dog at least once a month and clean their wrinkles with a damp cloth daily. Be sure to dry their wrinkles thoroughly to prevent infections. Exercise While some wrinkly dog breeds are laid-back, all dogs require regular exercise to maintain their physical and mental health. You should aim to provide your wrinkly dog with at least 30 minutes of exercise daily, such as walking or playing in the yard. Nutrition Wrinkly dogs require a well-balanced diet that is rich in protein and nutrients. Be sure to choose a high-quality dog food that meets your dog's nutritional needs. You should also avoid overfeeding your wrinkly dog, as obesity can lead to several health issues. Health Issues Wrinkly dogs are prone to several health issues, including skin infections, allergies, breathing difficulties, hip dysplasia, and bloat. It's essential to schedule regular veterinary checkups to catch any health issues early on. It's also important to be aware of the specific health issues that are common in your chosen breed. For example, Shar Peis are prone to eye problems, while Bulldogs are prone to joint issues. By understanding your dog's breed-specific health risks, you can take steps to prevent or manage potential health issues.
Choosing the Right Wrinkly Dog Breed
