Fantasy Anime Recommendations

I love all kinds of fantasy, whether it be high fantasy, low fantasy, dark fantasy, or urban fantasy. So here are my recommendations for that genre.

Disclaimer: More will be added to this list as I slowly work through my to-be-watched list

Black Clover

4 seasons and a Canon movie ongoing

My favorite underrated Battle Shonen series is about an orphan boy who dreams of being the wizard King. However, there is a slight problem since he was born without the ability to use magic. This is for you if you like the classic battle Shonen. It takes that classic formula and executes it to perfection. Plus, the show has some of the best-written supporting cast and female characters in Shonen.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles:

2 seasons ongoing

Satirical parody of Harry Potter. Except it's a kid without magic who has to somehow survive at the universe equivalent of Hogwarts without anyone finding out he can't use magic

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

1 season ongoing

It's a beautiful story and one of the best shows I've ever watched. However, it is not for everyone. Some people cannot handle the slow pacing because sometimes it is just as much of a slice of Life as it is an action-adventure story.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword

1 season is ongoing

A kid without magic wants to be a great magician, but to gain that title, he picks up a sword to prove you don't need magic to become the greatest. Unfortunately, he still has to go to magic school. Black Clover mixed with Mashle is just as good as both.

Black Butler

4 seasons, a two-part special, and a Canon movie ongoing.

A young boy and his demon butler solve mysteries in Victorian England. I recommend researching what Canon and non-canon or OVA are before you start. Otherwise, you will be confused.

Dungeon Meshi

One season ongoing

There's a reason this took over Tumblr for months and is still trending

The Case Study of Vanitas

A human doctor for vampires and his vampire companion in Paris. This one was an emotional roller coaster. The fate of season 3 is unknown and it is a shame

Trese

It's a supernatural detective show set in the Philippines, and it's a shame it only got one season

Not anime, but still adult animation

Castlevania

Completed, but there is an ongoing spin-off series

Based on the Japanese game, Netflix did a fantastic job adapting it. I never played the games and I loved it. I rewatched it with someone who played the games, and they loved all the Easter eggs

The sequel Castlevania Nocturne is not as good as the original. Hopefully, they fix that with the second season. The trailer did look amazing

The Legend of Vox Machina

3 seasons ongoing

You like classic high fantasy. This is for you. It's based on the D&D live stream show Critical Role. A friend of mine jokingly calls it Middle Earth. If they were allowed to say fuck it's very adult and very gory. However, it is amazing and one of my favorite animated shows.

Blood of Zeus

2 seasons ongoing

If you like Greek mythology, this one's for you. The story of one of Zeus's bastards and the consequences of Hera finding out about them. It's a story that feels like it could be straight out of Greek mythology and they do a fantastic job

Maya and The Three

One season it's a Netflix exclusive

Think of it as a love story of Mesoamerican culture in animated form. It's probably the most out of my recommendations because it is 3D animation. But God I love this show. It's about an Aztec princess who has to fight the gods in order to save her Kingdom along with her companions, who are members of the Inca, the Maya, and the indigenous Caribbean culture. Again, it's a love story of the indigenous cultures of Mesoamerica made by actual Latinos. I love this show so much, and it is underrated.

The Tickle Demon: Second Strike (Black Clover)

Summary: Part 2 of Squiggily's fic! Yuno offers to teach Liebe the best ways to tickle Asta, which the demon readily accepts!

A/N: EEEEK this was so much fun to work on! Asta and Liebe have had all of my brainspace since the latter was introduced in Season 4, and when we got to fangirling about them, this was the result! (Her idea, by the way!) Thank you so much for collabing with me again, friend! I had a ton of fun! 💖

“Now, now, Liebe,” Asta said, putting his hands up defensively. “Let’s…let’s not get hasty, all right? This whole tickling thing is still pretty new to you—”

“Hey, it worked fine with your friend, didn’t it?” Liebe shot back, beginning to grin. “What’s the matter, human? You scared?”

Asta opened his mouth to retort, then decided – stupidly – to try and make a run for it.

Behind him, Yuno stared in bafflement and exchanged a brief glance with the demon before the latter of them took off after the shorter mage. Beginning to feel a giddiness rise up in him that he hadn’t felt in months, Yuno sprinted after them both.

“Are you seriously trying to run away from me?” Liebe called after Asta, cackling with amusement. “We’re contracted! You literally can’t outrun me!”

“I can try!” Asta shouted over his shoulder, but his huge grin gave him away – to Yuno, at least.

Catching up to Liebe for a split second, he panted, “He just likes to make things difficult. Think you can take care of that?”

“Heck yeah, I can,” Liebe replied, then put on a burst of speed that had him caught up to Asta and tackling him to the ground in seconds.

Asta yelped and flipped onto his back just as Liebe caught his arms and pinned them at his sides. “Waitwaitwait!”

“Let you catch your breath, I know, I know.”

Asta blinked up at his demon, surprised. That hadn’t been why he’d been protesting, but it made him feel oddly proud to see Liebe catching on to his earlier lessons so quickly.

Yuno caught up to them then, unable to help but laugh a little. “What were you thinking, taking off like that?”

“You did it, too!”

“I had a chance to escape.”

“No you didn’t!” Asta and Liebe retorted in unison.

Yuno smirked and crouched at Asta’s side beside Liebe. “Well? Are you ready, Shortsta?”

“You’re still hung up on my height—?”

Suddenly Liebe’s unfairly pointed fingers were in his ribs, cutting Asta off mid-rant and making him choke on a startled laugh, trying to pull his arms out from under his demon.

“I’m taking that as a yes,” Liebe told him with a grin.

“Wahahahahahait, nohohohohoho!” Asta giggled, squirming as much as he could even though the demon had barely begun. “I dihihihihihidn’t sahahahahahay I was reheheheheheady, you jeheheheherk!”

Liebe snorted. “You were talking just fine, so I assumed you could breathe.”

Yuno barely bit back another laugh of his own. He’d only known Liebe for a few minutes, but he liked him already. And the friendship he seemed to have with Asta was clearly strong, so he liked him even more for that.

“Why aren’t you laughing as hard as he did?” Liebe asked after a few moments of soft snickers, fingers poking and prodding all along his ribs.

At this point, Yuno felt it was time to step in and do his share of teaching as well. “Different people are more ticklish in different places. You just have to find the right spot.”

“Oooh.” Liebe hummed, nodding as he dragged his fingers to Asta’s waist.

Asta’s giggles grew a tad softer at the change in location, much to Liebe’s obvious frustration. “Nihihihice try, Liehehehehebe! You’ll hahahahahave to do behehehehetter than that if you wahahahant to take mehehehehehe down!”

Yuno rolled his eyes playfully and reached in to help, wiggling a finger into the space where Asta’s armpits were clamped to his sides. “You’re in no position to be sassing us like that, now are you, Shortsta?”

In response, the smaller mage whined and bit his lip to keep from laughing any harder, determined to hold out at least a little bit.

“Come on, where is it?” Liebe grunted, releasing one of his arms to better access the hollow of his armpit and scribble his claws into it.

Asta yelped and tried to pull his arm back in again, but Liebe only grinned and pinned it out to his side as he tickled. “Oooh, is it here? Is this the spot that will make you laugh?”

Liebe – for all his enthusiasm – wasn’t very good at gauging what human reactions meant in this context, Yuno decided. He scooted around so he was sitting behind Asta’s head, then gestured to get the demon’s attention.

“Here, give me his arms,” he said.

Both of them ignored the giggly “nononono!”s that were coming from Asta as Liebe handed his wrists off to the wind mage and watched as he pulled them above his friend’s head to sit on them. They both knew full well that despite his small stature, Asta had strength to spare. Best to take precautions.

“Try again,” Yuno encouraged, slowly trailing his own fingers in Asta’s armpits to keep him giggling and squirming while still allowing Liebe the pleasure of finding the best spot on his own. “You’ll know when you get to it. Oh, and don’t forget to tease him, too, remember?”

Liebe’s eyes lit up at the same time that Asta shot Yuno a “what the hell?!” look that had the wind mage smirking back at him.

“Oh, yeah!” The demon grinned and finally went for Asta’s stomach, making him shriek at the same time he let out a long string of, “Tickle, tickle, tickle, tickle, tickle!”

“Gahahahahahaha nohohohohohoho! Liehehehehehehebe, it tihihihihihihihihihickles!” Asta screeched, laughter spilling out of him in waves now as he struggled and writhed on the ground, unable to bring his arms down protectively anymore. He arched his back when the demon dragged a claw along his navel and cried, “Nohohohohohohohoho!”

Yuno grinned, watching the two of them. Liebe was a bit clumsy, but his eagerness made up for it, and despite his protests, he could see that Asta was having a blast in this moment. He always looked so happy when someone he cared about was tickling him. He thought it must really mean something that he and Liebe had bonded so quickly. He’d have to ask about their story later.

For now, he gave the demon a minute or so to enjoy Asta’s usual happy laughter before deciding it was time to bring out the big guns.

“You’re pretty close to making him really laugh,” Yuno said, smiling as Liebe looked up to meet his eyes. “But I’m afraid I’ll have to teach you the best way, because I doubt you’ll get it on your own.”

“Yuno!” Asta screeched, looking up at him with wide eyes. “Dohohohohon’t you dahahahahare!”

“Do dare!” Liebe interjected, grinning even wider. “If he doesn’t want you to share, it must be good. Tell me, human!”

“My name is Yuno,” the wind mage reminded him gently but firmly, “and I will. Watch this.”

“No! Yuno, don’t!” Asta whined, trying to bring his arms down to throw him off, but a quick scribble over his belly put an end to that.

Yuno finally allowed himself to grin mischievously, leaning in close to Asta’s face and digging a little harder into his armpits, cooing in his most annoyingly babyish voice, “What’s wrong? Whittle Asta can’t handle some whittle tickles? Hmm? Is that it?”

Asta twisted his head to the side, blushing furiously, trying desperately to keep his laughter at bay.

Yuno glanced at Liebe and said, “Tickle his stomach again.”

“No! Nohohohohohohoho!”

“Aww, whittle ticklish Asta can’t take some tummy tickles, can he? No, he can’t~ You’re so red now! Does it tickle too much? Huh?”

“FAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA—!!” Asta barely cut off a curse as he finally exploded with laughter, writhing on the ground like he wanted to burn a hole into it. “I TRUHUHUHUHUSTED YOU, TRAHAHAHAHAHAITOR!!”

Liebe watched Asta fall apart with rapt interest, eyes wide at the human’s reddened cheeks and more panicked state. Despite his curiosity, however, he found himself confused, and he frowned. “Why are you talking like that?”

Yuno stopped what he was doing to look up at him. He opened his mouth to explain that it was baby talk, but then – did demons have babies? Would they understand the concept? He found himself blushing a little, knowing how childish it all was. But it worked, and they both liked it, so he shrugged off the embarrassment and did his best.

“It’s a type of teasing. It’s called baby talk,” he said, glancing back down at Asta as he caught his breath and going right back into it before he could fully recover. “And it works soooo well on our whittle Asta! See? It makes him laugh sooo much, yes it does! Aww, are you ticklish, whittle Asta?”

“CUHUHUHUHUHUHUT IT OHOHOHOHOHOUT!!” Asta shrieked, shaking his head as he laughed helplessly under the onslaught.

Liebe still didn’t fully understand, but he thought he might have enough information to give it a try, so with a shrug, he dragged his claws down Asta’s stomach and cooed, “Oh, whittle Asta is a whittle baby, is he?”

His first instinct was to cringe – what was this insane type of human speech? It was ridiculous! – but then he saw how much Asta began to struggle and laugh in response to the words, and he felt something close to excitement well up inside him. He grinned, met Yuno’s approving gaze, and tried it again.

“Where does whittle Asta think he’s going? Hmm? I told you, we’re contracted! No escaping me, ticklish whittle Asta~”

“SHUHUHUHUHUHUHUT UP!!” Asta pleaded, laughing even harder now that his worst spot was being tickled in tandem with the teasing words.

Then the reality of them hit Liebe, and his grin went from pleased to utterly wicked in the span of a second. Asta could almost see the devil horns sprouting out of his head (besides the ones he already had).

“That’s right,” Liebe taunted, his voice lowering on instinct as he continued to coo at Asta’s laughing, squirming form. “You can’t get away from me ever, whittle Asta~” He dug his thumbs into the squishy bits of the sides of Asta’s stomach, earning a louder squeal for his efforts. “You said it yourself – I’m your tickle demon, aren’t I? Tickle, tickle, tickle! Whittle Asta is just soooo ticklish right here, isn’t he?”

Asta tossed his head back and positively cackled, his laughter coming out unfiltered in a way Liebe had never heard before. At a glance to Yuno, who gave him a smiling nod, he kept up his attack for another couple of minutes, watching the human utterly crumble beneath him and loving every second of it.

Eventually, though, he seemed to shift from this “having fun” thing they kept talking about to something else.

“PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE, ENOUGH!! NO MOHOHOHOHOHOHORE!!” Asta begged, cheeks so red they looked like strawberries and a sheen to his eyes that hadn’t been there before. “YUNO!! LIEHEHEHEHEHEBE!!”

Yuno held up a hand to the demon, signaling for him to stop. Much as he would have liked to keep going, Liebe followed his direction and ceased tickling, though he didn’t immediately climb off of him like the wind mage did.

“There. Now we’re even,” Yuno said, ruffling his hair playfully and hiding his wince as the bruise on his elbow from his own ambush reminded him it was there. Asta gratefully brought his arms down to cover his stomach, hands inadvertently resting on top of Liebe’s. “You good?”

“Y-Yeheheah,” Asta managed, gasping for breath and turning a halfhearted glare on his best friend. “You traitor.”

Yuno smirked, glancing at Liebe. “I think we both know you don’t mind him knowing about this.”

Asta groaned, but he grinned up at the demon anyway. “Yeah, it’s fine. As long as you promise not to kill me with it, you jerk.”

“I promise no such thing.” Liebe smirked, suddenly grabbing onto his wrists and pinning them down again, his eyes flashing in a way that made Yuno nervous but that only made Asta giggle again. “Like I said, you’re stuck with me. And now that I know about this little weakness…”

Asta squeaked as Liebe used his tail to prod his side momentarily.

“…I intend to have all kinds of fun with you. Soft whittle Asta~”

“Stooooop!” Asta snickered, twisting his body so that Liebe fell onto his side, both of them grinning. “Go back to being a puffball! I want to hang out with Yuno. I haven’t seen him in forever.”

“Who are you calling a puffball, you little—!”

Yuno watched the two of them wrestle and couldn’t help but grin. It was strange; he saw how close and comfortable Asta was with this demon, yet he felt no jealousy. If anything, he was happy for him. Happy that he had another friend within the Black Bulls to look out for him.

They did eventually get to walk around the kingdom and catch up, with Liebe piping up once in a while but mostly leaving them to it, and Yuno was even more grateful that he was willing to let them have their time, unlike a certain wind spirit he knew.

Whoever this demon was, he felt good about entrusting him with Asta’s safety and well-being.

And his laughter.

Dimension 20 shows always sweep so I already have a feeling about how this will play out. Opinions below the cut. There may be spoilers for any of these.

Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest: 100 Years Quest isn’t really necessary in terms of story. Fairy Tail was pretty wrapped up. I’m just here for the vibes, but if they perform character assassination, I will riot.

Dimension 20: Never Stop Blowing Up: I’m not really keeping up with this one, more just watching it casually. It’s a really fun premise though. All the players this campaign pull off playing one character in another character’s body really well.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword: This is just Black Clover lol. Jokes aside, I have gotten so invested in this show that I started the manga and have completely caught up. Will is a likeable protagonist (he’s so cute) and the world building is really interesting. One of the teachers is hot and the other one is Severus Snape. From reading the manga, I cannot wait to see more of the anime and meet the characters that have yet to be introduced, especially since the animation is so pretty. Highly recommend.

Fluffy Paradise: Another one I’m watching mainly for the vibes. I don’t usually gravitate to isekai, but this is a pretty chill story about a girl who just wants to pet animals. Honestly, there’s more plot than I thought there would be.

Oshi no Ko: I honestly forgot when Season 2 was coming up and finally caught up once episode 4 was out. It's good. My favorite part so far was that bit where Kana is acting out a fight scene during rehearsal and their acting is represented visually by these paint splatters going everywhere. That was cool. Is Ruby going to do anything? I don't know.

Anime crossovers that should be in fortnite already

One piece (seriously wtf is taking so long let me play as Sanji with a chopper back bling please and thank you toei stop being greedy, but fr I would add Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, usopp (wave 1) then nami, doflamingo, blackbeard, crocodile (cause we need some villains) but yeah one piece please)

Cowboy bebop (I mean yeah the anime about a space cowboy bounty hunter who shoots people for a living we can have spike, Faye, jet, edd, and vicious (if they feel inclined)

One punch man (saitama with a gun would be funny, (saitama, genos, tatsumaki, garou, boros or speed o sound)

Trigun (this is literally just for vash and wolfwood, that would actually be amazing)

Hellsing (imagine alucard in Fortnite, yeah take my fucking money)

Dragon ball (I know it's already in but I feel like we're missing some key players still, krillin, Broly, buu, yamcha, Tien and roshi, you may be thinking "you're asking for to much" yes and?)

Demon slayer (I feel like it deserves it and if they add a sword for the season it'd be cool for them to be bosses and get their breathing styles) (tanjiro, nezuko, inosuke, zenitsu)

More jujutsu kaisen (toji, inumaki, yuta, choso)

Baki (I don't have a reason I just wanna see baki, yujiro and pickle running around with guns)

Black clover (asta, yuno, Noelle, Yami) I mean black clover is cool, imagine grimmoires in this game

BLEACH (come on add it now) Ichigo, rukia, renji, aizen, easiest starting 4 in history and wave 2 can be just as easy, grimmjow, toshiro, yoruichii, kisuke (easiest money maker ever)

Death note (Light, L, Near, Misa) I mean it's death note I feel like that's a good one

We need recipe Master Chef Ru

Spicy Rice:

1 full diced red bell pepper

1 full diced shallot

1/2 diced white onion

4 minced clovers of garlic

Tablespoon of tomato puree

Tablespoon of smoked paprika, cumin and crushed chilli peppers.

Mix in a hot pan of oil.

Then add some water so the spice mixture doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.

Add 600ml of chicken stock [or stock of your liking]

Add washed rice with four bay leaves until fully cooked!

Baked chicken:

Season chicken legs with your preferred seasoning overnight. Mine were;

Garlic Powder

Paprika

Ground Black Pepper

Cayenne Pepper

Ground Parsley

Lemon Zest

Nando’s sauce.

Once it’s marinated overnight, I added melted unsalted butter into my baking tray and baked the chicken until preferred crisp!

The coleslaw was store bought because I was too lazy to make it from scratch.

⚡ONE NIGHT IN ELVIS' LIFE⚡ ELVIS with members of the British fan club in Las Vegas, at the Las Vegas Hilton International Hotel, on September 4, 1972 (before his dinner show that night, 8:15pm) + some other interesting things about that night, including 'Aloha From Hawaii' press conference N.1, the Aug-Sept 1972, Vegas season, and an overview on Elvis' 60s/70s fandom outside U.S.

The Elvis fans: Janet Barker, Alan Trower and Tony Prince, from England, and Gitt Nymand and May Britt Berlind, from Sweden.

Below is a picture of Tony Prince with EP on the same day, September 4, 1972. Tony appears in the movie "Elvis: That's The Way It Is", the original/theatrical version from 1970.

That was Elvis' closing night at the Hilton - I love how he's wearing his 'Aloha' necklace. I call it that way because he wore it on the two 'Aloha from Hawaii' press conferences in 1972. Actually, that's because the first 'Aloha From Hawaii' press conference was held that very night, between Elvis' dinner and midnight concerts, at the Hilton Hotel. Note that EP is seeing at first wearing a black jacket. His fan said he met with the fans then quickly went into his dressing room and came back to talk to them again when he was no longer wearing the black jacket (and we can see he is no loner wearing the necklace too), so he probably was making time to change to his first (dinner) concert while at the same time he was meeting his fans.

That means on September 4, 1972, Elvis schedule included at least: Performing two hour-long concerts, meeting his fans, giving all the attention he was known to give to them, and talking to the press about his upcoming big, historical concert for 1973. I'm tired just talking about it! He is indeed the King.⚡ Also, talk about how Elvis changed his outfit in a single day! My god! All breathtaking outfits tho. ♥

This is Elvis during the first 'Aloha From Hawaii' Press Conference - September 4, 1972 – at the Las Vegas Hilton International Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. This press conference was held between his dinner and midnight concerts.

AUG 4 - SEPT 4, 1972, VEGAS SEASON

Elvis opened his 7th season in Las Vegas, at the Las Vegas Hilton International Hotel, holding two shows every day for a month, (except for the opening night when he performed only one evening concert) beginning in August 4th. The season ended on September 4th, 1972.

Pictures 1-5: Opening concert, August 4, 1972. EP's wearing his “White two-piece suit with aqua pockets” with the Turquoise Concho suit belt. Pictures 6-7: Closing concert, September 4, 1972. Elvis is wearing his "Lucky Suit" (A.K.A "Blue Swirl/Clover Leaf" jumpsuit) with the Blue Macrame belt.

I love how he begins and closes this engagement wearing blue. ♥

Here are some details of the fan meeting during Elvis' closing night at the Hilton Hotel in Sept 4, 1972, as provided by Rex Martin*:

Todd [one of the European fans] and the others was sitting in Colonel Parker's booth (and the next one), when Parker came and took them thru a side door to the left of the showrooms stage. Just after this Tom Diskin talked to two girls sitting next to the stage (far right of centre); he asked them where I was sitting. I was with Virginia Coons and the girls front row balcony (far right), under the funky angels. Tom [Diskin] waved for me to meet him downstairs. We went through a door between Emelio's office, and the showroom entrance. Into the lounge (behind and below the back of the showrooms stage). I arrived a few minutes after Todd's party. A few minutes later, Elvis walked in. A small B&W TV was monitoring the opening acts, up high in the lounge (no sound); the Sweets Inspirations was on most of the time we were backstage (for about 8 minutes in total). During the meeting Elvis left the room for a very short time (his dressing room was a door almost opposite the lounge). He returned clutching 6 folded Emerald Green Scarfs, and had removed his jacket.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Note: One thing came to my mind. Considering how Elvis was dressed for the 2nd 'Aloha From Hawaii' press conference, held in the Hilton Hawaiian Village at Honolulu, Hawaii, on November 20, 1972, I guess during the fan meeting at the Hilton Hotel he was pretty much dressed up and ready for the first 'Aloha' press conference to be held that same day but last minute he might have decided to change his outfit from the black one to the white one he actually wore for the 1st 'Aloha' press conference. It looks like he 'saved' (?) that one dark suit for the Hawaii press conference because he is dressed that day pretty much the same way he was during the fan meeting on Sept 4, as we can see in the pictures. Or maybe, most likely, he was just trying the outfit options (wardrobe test) for the press conferences before he met the European fans in Vegas that September 4, 1972 evening, and opted for the white one to the 1st 'Aloha' press conference in the end. ⭐ About Rex Martin, Elvis' "super fan" and how he helped disseminating Elvis to the fans outside U.S. in the 60s/70s⭐

Back in the days when internet was not even in people's imaginary, the passionate Elvis fans that got to be closer to their idol were the responsible ones for keeping his other fans outside US updated about what was going on in the King's life/career.

Side note: That's so interesting. I remember I saw an interview with Ernst Jorgensen (one of the responsible people, the top one actually, for the Elvis FTD albums. He's an Elvis expert, a long term fan, and he's also a Grammy-nominated reissue producer, dedicated archivist, seasoned researcher and acclaimed author of one of the pivotal books to Elvis Presley's legacy, 'A Life in Music', which is an essencial book on Elvis' whole career, all the recording sessions and every detail you can possibly imagine), and in that one interview, Ernst spoke about the importance of Elvis' musical films, as they were the only way for fans outside the United States to get to know Elvis' music and performance in the 60s, which is very interesting since many people criticize Elvis' movie career.

Without those fans, those passionate fans that willingly took it as a delightful task to keep the fans outside the US updated about EP's career, maybe Elvis wouldn't be so big outside US (oh, that's not possible. No, he would be big regardless of the amount of info people got about him in the 50s-70s, actually, but his fan base maybe would have been considerably smaller during those decades, outside America, considering people wouldn't be 'fed' with news about him so frequently). Rex Martin was this one person who did feed the England/European fans with news about Elvis Presley.

Rex Martin saw Elvis in concert more than 60 times and, as one of the most influential publishers in the Elvis world, he amassed an incredible photo and audio-visual library. P.S.:This post begun only with the intention of publishing Elvis meeting with his fans in September 4th, 1972. That was the only thing I wanted to share: the pictures of the fan meeting. Then you read and you read, and one thing led to another and... now the post includes, the fan meeting, Elvis' engagement at the Hilton on Aug to Sept 1972, his European fans and how important Elvis' movies were to the fans outside U.S. and the 'Aloha from Hawaii' press conference N°1. Phew. That is what it means being an Elvis fan. You have endless topics to research and talk about. If I continue digging deeper into it, there's many other things to talk about on each of those subjects. I know it for sure, actually. I simply wrote an overall look on things.

Fuji Hakone — Day 3 and 4

Okay, travelling is very exhausting and I didn’t manage to write down everything I wanted. But here I am, sharing some impressions of the National Park Fuji Hakone.

Fuji Hakone is actually quite huge. Last year we made a trip to Fujikawakuchiko, which I can also highly recommend and which is probably the most famous when you see pictures with Mount Fuji view.

This year we spent two nights near lake Ashi. I won’t speak about the absolutely horrible journey (to make it short: not noticing that we could have taken a train and instead chose a bus and a steep way over about 150 steps with all of our luggage was not the best decision). We stayed in a small guesthouse and the guys there were delighted I learn Japanese and could speak with them at least a bit. Our room was not, like expected, traditional Japanese with tatami mats. But nevertheless very cute. There were two Onsen in the basement and let me tell you, now I know why people in Black Clover like to take a bath so much! It’s so relaxing.

The first day we took the rope way up to a height of 1,044 metres. Eggs boiled in volcano steam were sold there and the smell of sulphur was almost too much. But at least they are prepared in case the Fuji gets angry and tell you to run into a building to be safe (to be honest, I don’t think you’re actually safe there, but at least they try 😂).

For the night I was wearing a yukata, and with this I want to share a quote from chapter 18 of “Embrace of Darkness”.

More. More. He wanted even more, although he knew that he should stop this right here and now. But he just couldn’t. Instead he made it even worse by grabbing her hips and lifting her up, just to press her down on the mattress and roll over her, his lips never leaving hers. They were a bundle of tangled limbs and searching hands. Her legs were captured in the fabric of her robe and they both tugged impatiently at it to get her free so he could take his place between her legs where he belonged for so long already. Finally his hands brushed over the naked skin of her thighs and her legs wrapped around him.

I can now say from experience: Sleeping in a yukata is not as comfortable as I imagined. Making Nacht and Ichika struggle like this is definitely understandable. My legs were always caught in the fabric. 😅

The second day we had enough time to go to lake Ashi. It’s a very nice place with beautiful nature that already gave me inspiration for the upcoming chapters of “Embrace of Brightness”.

Here another fitting quote from chapter 18 of “Embrace of Darkness”:

He really liked the idea of that. “Not yet. But I’ve thought about the best time to go. Spring is almost over so we missed the cherry blossoms and summer in Hino was always so hot with high humidity, it’s no fun to stay outside for long then. But autumn is very beautiful. I think you’ll like to see the momiji season. That time of the year the leaves will turn bright red and there are special illuminations and several festivals.” He got excited just by thinking about it and to spend time with Charlotte and Ichika in Hino.

As it’s still quite warm in Japan, the red leaves are still quite rare, but it’s now slowly starting and makes me very excited.

The shrine we visited here after making a trip with that boat is famous for tourists. That’s why we waited for over an hour to stand in front of this torii so we could take photos. I’m a huge fan of torii, they have made a huge impression on me, that’s why I now have a tattoo of one on my wrist.

In the afternoon we were also lucky the sky cleared up so we had a nice view of Fuji san. the chance to see it that day was only 40 %, so we were absolutely thrilled to have such a nice view. It’s very impressive, but also a bit sad that there was no snow at the peak.

In total, this stop was a beautiful impression of Japan’s nature. ❤️
