Hi Zal! Of all the ships you've ever shipped, which one is the one you've gotten the most crap on Tumblr or elsewhere for shipping? It can be a canon or non-canon ship. I ship Ross x Rachel, so you know that's earned me more "you must be seriously impaired psychologically and cognitively" hate than any other!

This is an interesting question....I would have to say Bonkai because I got shit from every TVD fandom (except BKers obvs) including SE shippers and people would PM me tweets about how people would really like my metas on SE, find out I ship Bonkai and then basically write off everything I've said and anons have a HUGE problem with context so explaining the parameters with which I ship Bonkai and why Bonkai works for me when Bamon doesn't was a whole thing, and the nastiest anon hate has come from me shipping Bonkai, like DErs will be like 'ur a bitch' or 'fuck u' but Bamon fans would make racist posts about me and I'd have to contact tumblr to take them down, so yeah Bonkai.

Do you think Kai was surprised at his own reaction to seeing Bonnie in 6x16? Like he was probably in shock at how much emotion (that he wasn’t familiar with) he experienced when he saw Bonnie. It literally left him speechless. My interpretation is that Kai didn’t fully realize how intense his feelings for Bonnie were until he saw her again. And his comment “i pictured that going a bit differently” makes me think that he thought it will be like old times. That he’d be confident 1994!Kai around her, he’d apologize, she’d accept and flirt with him again and all would be swell. Lol 😂

So obviously Kai always was attracted to Bonnie but do you think 6x16 was the first time he realized how much he liked her and was falling in love with her as well?

LOL, yes! I agree with this. It's taken me so long to reply this ask because I've been searching for the drabble I wrote around this scene, and I can't find it because I'm lazy with tagging. :(

This was my first introduction to Kai & Bonkai and I remember how fast I got obsessed with the ship for this reason. Because he was so clearly blindsided by his feelings. He hadn't expected that reunion to go down that way, and not just Bonnie rejecting his apology - he obviously knew that would happen. He hadn't expected how badly he would say the apology, how much seeing her in person would affect him, and how her visible pain and fear at the sight of him would bother him.

It's also, if I can rant a little, why it bothers me so much when anti-BKers claim that Kai didn't leave Bonnie alone and was pestering her for forgiveness. He did leave her alone! After she walked away on that rave, he doesn't seek her out again. He lives up to his part of the deal with Damon and tells him about Lily being a ripper (now I want to rant about this moment too but I'll restrain myself!), but he absolutely stays out of Bonnie's life until she seeks him out again.

And when she seeks him out, what does she say? "If you want to make it up to me..." She uses her forgiveness as a bargaining chip. She gives him conditions. She makes it a negotiation. That's not the same thing as Kai hounding her for an apology she doesn't want to accept. That's not Kai disrespecting her boundaries.

If anyone selfishly barged his way into Bonnie's presence and insisted on her accepting his apology, it was Damon. It was Damon who arranged for Kai to meet with Bonnie after she expressly refused to do so. (And yes, Kai insisted but he only had Damon's word that Bonnie refused to see him. For all he knew, Damon was lying, or Damon didn't give Bonnie the full picture that he'd changed. Which we know is true since Damon never told Bonnie that Kai saved her life.) It was Damon who ambushed her at the rave with no prior warning. It was Damon who immediately followed her to her dorm room after she told him she didn't want to see him. It was Damon who was back there the next morning, manipulating her anger and her pain to get what he, Damon, wanted. He used Bonnie and he used Kai. And the show never addresses this and it sucks.

.. and there is great admiration of the information and records , which I have never maintained or kept .. many tell me I should .. but with Moses around it is a given relief and assurance that all is not lost ..

.. keeps one busy the entire day .. so the conference video was made individually in each home .. the conversational mood to make it look as though it is seamless is done with great dexterity .. we say our bit and act silently in our mind the kind of lines the others will say and then give the impression that it has been spoken to you , react and say your part ..

the first shot of BKER .. was done on the floor No 1 of Film City .. it was the inauguration of the Film City shooting complex .. did the entire film in Hindi and then dubbed it in Bengali .. all indoors in Mumbai Natraj Studios , of which Shakti Samant the Producer Director along with some other prominent Directors - Pramod Chakravarty, GuruDutt ji brother and et all - owned the premise .. and out doors in Darjeeling .. 

Naseeb done in Mumbai and London - Shatrughan portions .. Laawaris in Kashmir and Mumbai .. Yaaraana in Bangalore Mumbai and Calcutta .. Kalia in Mumbai mostly Film City .. the outdoor prison set that was made in Film City on the open ground just as you enter the main gate , subsequently came to be known as the Kaalia Ground .. still is .. .. Silsila in Kashmir and Delhi .. 

Each memory so vivid and clear .. 

What does not seem clear for the moment is how we shall relocate with our work after the lockdown is lifted .. guidelines for the post removal syndrome are being processed and explained but for films there are now indications from the Guild and Producers bodies on how shall work resume .. indeed how shall TV shoots resume .. and more important personally, how will the Digital release of the films in line be , when they are released within some days from now .. and I am not even directing my thoughts for KBC .. the Channel is supposedly working on it ..

But everyone is working on many fronts .. and they shall hopefully culminate or come to some understanding soon .. till then .. we remain locked down and confront the daily updates of the 2020 year in it adverse conditions .. the Pandemic .. the devastating Cyclone that has hit Orissa and Bengal .. and the many other stories .. 

Each day is harsh .. each day is filled with debatable hope .. each day is filled with expectation .. each day is filled with the absence of ‘a routine’ .. when there was routine, or schedule, there was some regularity of action .. when where how and on .. but now there is no knowhow of any ..

.. despite all the technical facilities available to us , the date and day and the time passed is void .. and in a sense truly uncared for .. 

.. all conditions are not of waste .. they give a teaching each day .. administration details prevail of the domesticity .. of the workings of home and such .. details that were elusive to us when in work .. then you worked and rested .. now you rest and work too .. but on a different plane ..
