“Decade of Change” is now up at Belfast Photo Festival. If you didn’t get a chance to see the exhibition, I wanted to share my 2 photos and a couple other shots of the installation.

Winner of Portrait of Britain 2022!

I am very honoured to announce that I have been selected for this years Portrait of Britain Prize for the third time running. 

My image will be exhibited on JCDecaux screens across the country as part of a nationwide public exhibition in January 2023 and will also be published in a photobook by Hoxton Mini Press, available in February 2023.

I took this portrait of Kenneatha & Keziah at the fair on the Wanstead Flats this summer. I saw them in their matching pink tracksuits and asked if I could make a portrait with them. She told me that Keziah had asked if they could both dress in matching outfits that day and spend some Mother and Daughter time together.

“What does it mean to live in Britain today? These honest portraits offer an alternative view of our shared identity, an eclectic celebration of Britishness and an uplifting account of the triumphs and struggles of the people who inhabit these isles.”

So excited to be shortlisted for British Journal of Photography (BJP)’s Portrait of Humanity. Olivia from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory poses for a portrait. When I asked her why she loves hunting ” When I hunt I feel happy for other people because we give them food.” This photo was taken in 2014. So important sometimes to dig through our old photos.
