jaylex as academic rivals but in the film degree department. they have wildly different opinions on classics, their favorite movies dont seem to overlap at all, and theyre constantly bitching at each other in class. they sit in front row, because theyre loser nerds, and even their professor is getting tired of the bickering. they refuse to partner up on any project, because they both want to be in charge and claim that they would never work with the other.

for the final project of the semester, they are Forced to make a short video together. they complain about this for two days straight before holing up in a corner of the library for seven hours, leaving with a completed script and storyboard for their video. theyre both workaholics. theyre both obsessed with their craft. jay has so many ideas but never executes them before moving onto the next one, but alex is so methodical and strict that he actually gets jay to settle down and finish something. alex tries so hard to emulate the classics that half of what he comes up with is just fanfiction in film format, a big trope sandwich. jay's originality gets alex to actually think outside of the box.

their final project is the best thing they've turned in all semester. for Film 2 in the spring semester, they do less interjecting and arguing and more leaning over each other, scribbling onto each other's notes, arms constantly crossing and elbows bumping. they're attached at the hip. they refuse to work with anyone else but the other.

it's no surprise when the bumping elbows and heads leaned closer together leads to hands grabbing at wrists, and faces tucking up into shoulders, and at last, a chaste kiss to the lips before darting off towards their next class.

“i decided when i heard his voice” was actually one of the most insane things will graham has ever said imo and the implications are actually devastating to my mental state. he called hannibal, and the very second he heard his voice he decided that that was enough for him to not go through with his betrayal. just a simple “hello” made up his mind. a simple “hello” told him he didn’t have the heart to hurt him anymore.
