In order to save the hostages; the remaining X-Kids - Surge, Armor, Aura Charles and Wrongslide managed to fight the Fenris Twins by using their hand-to-hand combat and taking the special bracelet to get their powers back.

Wow, they kinda front-loaded this issue, putting Illyana on page one! There’s also this, a bit later:

I don’t like that. I get that this is a continuation of Yana and Bishop training the kids in that one Hellfire Gala oneshot, but here it feels like the kids were drafted whether they wanted to be or not.

And wasn’t the whole point of Krakoa that all mutants didn’t have to be child soldiers anymore to survive? If they want training to be able to protect themselves and each other, great. But they should be allowed to be kids.

What I do like? Dani needs some help looking after the kids, goes straight to Illyana. Nice.

When the two Bishops arrive at the Tucker Institute to search for Tempo, they find the facility under attack by the Human Liberation Front – an anti-mutant extremist group made up of this alternate future Earth’s versions of MOIRA MacTAGGERT, FEILONG, TONY STARK and SIMON TRASK. When the fight hits a critical point, a familiar face comes to the Bishop’s aid. Lapin, duplicitous as he may be, still turned to a deity. He pretended to follow the bulb but in truth followed the sugar plum fairy. But at least he somewhat still had faith/got power from a powerful being. That part of him is no lie.

He's not even a cleric OR warlock. HE'S A BARD!! He doesnt get his powers from a powerful being. His faith only lies in himself. He gets his powers from being a sneaky little shit.

Mutants of the Multiverse!

Bishop: War College has Bishop and Tempo accidentally making their way to Earth 63. They also have a Krakoan nation established as well as the Xavier Institute. This universe's 'hat' is that the X-Gene only manifests in humans of African descent. The world is drastically safer for mutants compared to Earth 616. The Human Liberation Front is no ORCHIS but they do have Moira and Tony Stark (natch) leading so they're likely no pushover. Nobody seems too stressed though.

That pink aura threw me off for a moment but it's Marvel Girl and Cyclops!

Shortly joined by the rest of the 05 - Angel, Iceman, and Beast up the front. Charles Xavier has no concept of psychic consent in any universe, though he says please here which is nice. After reading Bishop's mind he takes him to the Quiet Council, who are horrified after Xavier broadcasts his life story to them.

From left to right - Mystique, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Mr Sinister (who's a jerk in every universe, to put it lightly,) Storm, Sebastian Shaw, and the White Queen, Emma Frost. NGL, Shaw saying 'Girl, you were white' to Emma is pretttttty damn funny.

We didn't get a great look at Nightcrawler, so here he is with his BAMF over Cyclops' dick. Of course, there's always a Wolverine, who is JACKED in this universe. It also looks like he's got a variant of Magneto's helmet on, which is interesting for many reasons not least because there's no Magneto here.

It's a fun mini with a very diverse cast, and not just the Black X-Men.
