In order to save the hostages; the remaining X-Kids - Surge, Armor, Aura Charles and Wrongslide managed to fight the Fenris Twins by using their hand-to-hand combat and taking the special bracelet to get their powers back.

Wow, they kinda front-loaded this issue, putting Illyana on page one! There’s also this, a bit later:

I don’t like that. I get that this is a continuation of Yana and Bishop training the kids in that one Hellfire Gala oneshot, but here it feels like the kids were drafted whether they wanted to be or not.

And wasn’t the whole point of Krakoa that all mutants didn’t have to be child soldiers anymore to survive? If they want training to be able to protect themselves and each other, great. But they should be allowed to be kids.

What I do like? Dani needs some help looking after the kids, goes straight to Illyana. Nice.

Lapin, duplicitous as he may be, still turned to a deity. He pretended to follow the bulb but in truth followed the sugar plum fairy. But at least he somewhat still had faith/got power from a powerful being. That part of him is no lie.

RAPHANIEL HOWEVER

He's not even a cleric OR warlock. HE'S A BARD!! He doesnt get his powers from a powerful being. His faith only lies in himself. He gets his powers from being a sneaky little shit.

And i love that for him.
