Start #RisingWithHope on Hoseok’s 5-Day Birthday Flash Fundraiser by Providing Black Communities Access to Mental Health Resources

Let’s shower hope and mental health support on Black communities this February!

ARMY showed interest in supporting an organization advocating for mental health. For Hoseok’s birthday, we’re #RisingWithHope by lending a helping hand to Darkness RISING, a non-profit organization offering mental health resources and support to the Black community.

About Darkness RISING

Darkness RISING is a mental health non-profit organization in the US that provides free wellness workshops for the Black community, a Black Mental Health Resource Packet and a Provider Database, inspirational cover songs, visual albums, and concerts featuring Black musicians and artists who have also experienced mental health conditions. The organization aims to spark conversations about mental health, address issues affecting the Black community, empower the community through resources, and eradicate mental health stigma.

Darkness RISING has an annual mental health event called Darkness RISING: Live, wherein the Black Broadway community performs inspirational songs for Black mental health and Black mental health providers talk on several topics regarding mental health. The organization also hosts free monthly workshops where they partner with Black mental health providers and fitness and wellness instructors for each workshop that focuses on a different wellness topic. Due to COVID-19, workshops are currently virtual. Darkness RISING envisions being an LGBTQIA- and Black-affirming safe space where people can be their true selves.

How to Contribute to the Campaign

For a minimum of $1, you can help create a safe space for black communities. Through our birthday flash fundraiser for j-hope, ARMYs worldwide can support Darkness RISING in providing direct mental health resources to the communities they serve.

I don't begrudge anyone their campaign preferences, and I think there's plenty of valid reasons to like Campaign 3 the best and this is not directed at people who are genuinely having a great time with it, but it feels like virtually all the nostalgia and wishful thinking I see surrounding Campaign 3 is screaming "you guys want Campaign 2." You want more slow travel and downtime and interparty conversations and slow-burn romance? You wish their main focus was fighting governmental corruption? You want a party that only semi-settles down at the end and keeps adventuring and remains very close? You're frustrated by how everpresent and overarching the moon plot is? You miss when they were just fucking around in a city? I genuinely believe you want Campaign 2, or at best you love a specific ship or a character from Campaign 3 but aren't happy about basically anything else, and would vastly prefer the tone and events and plot of Campaign 2. And I don't really care if you watch Campaign 2, or if you think I'm being annoying here; I simply genuinely believe you'd be happier watching Campaign 2 than Campaign 3 and are so deep in a sunk cost fallacy well you can't see it.
