But yeah, I’ve been thinking about what I’d be if I were in Faas and Enya’s universe and I thought I’d be a changeling as well for a while for many reasons, but upon further consideration I think I was wrong. So here’s the first concept art for a my avian persona.

As for the songs (which was one of the main influences on why I started thinking about avians because I realized that over the last six months the majority of songs I’ve been obsessed with have bird centric undertones at the very least) you can find them here

Self insert of my species in my book is great

I'm now going to go into detail about said species

Avians are like an elf-bird mix

The elf features and bird features they have very, some are all lot more elf, and some are almost only bird. Most are pretty evenly split though. Height ranges with bird type, but they are typically taller than humans. Average heights are 6-7 feet. Tinier birds are going to be tinier and larger birds are going to be larger.

They have flocks of course, and are quite reclusive. Most avoid human cities and towns, with the occasional exception.

Each flock takes on the role of environment protection. In each flock there are specific avians that focus solely on helping the environment. 1 in every 8 Avians is a Guardian. (I am a Guardian)

Merchants are a type of Avian that does not have a flock. Few choose to be a Merchant (it's mostly a family line thing) but the occasional Flock Avian will choose the life of a Merchant. Merchants travel from flock to flock to human city to human city. They trade things they have gathered with any species.

Merchants typically travel by themselves but occasionally travel in small groups. (Corvids are common flock merchants)

Avians- like explained, bird-elf mix that are known as peaceful protectors of the environment

Guardians- a role in an Avian flock, protects the environment

Flock Avian- an avian that travels or lives in a flock

Merchant- type of avian that functions as a (typically) solitary trader

OK you know that. Thing. When you’re watching a piece of visual media that’s been going on for a while, and it started with very simple, almost abstract, character designs, but as time went on and the artist skills/technology improved, and they could consistently make more elaborate character designs, new additions to the cast would be more consistently elaborate in their design and the characters who were grandfathered in from those earlier installments wind up looking a little goofy alongside them?

Is there a name for that? Is this a recognized phenomenon? I’ve been calling it character design creep in my head
