Ended up looking at house listings for a bit just daydreaming about finally being done with school and having a decent job that will let me mortgage a house. Bc I am Sooooo done with renting.
I have a good credit score and it's only been getting better. Once I'm finally out of school and have a definite job, I am Gonna be looking into this shit. I want a place to sit outside (porch, patio, balcony, I'm not picky) and I want to have a garden and I want interesting architecture (which probably means an old house, which are charming in their own rights)
Dreams!!! Dreams!!!! I want it!!!!!!!

Play ideas for chronically ill, disabled, or otherwise bed bound/low energy littles
Hi all! I am chronically ill. I am not comfortable sharing my specific diagnosis, but I am more than okay with talking about disability in general. Everything below is based on my own personal experiences and activities I like to do while stuck in bed. Everyone's body and experiences are different. I may list some things that just aren't an option for you, and that's okay. You are more than welcome to add on to this post with activities you do too!
Tumblr media
🐛 Open the curtains and cloud watch! I like to look for clouds that remind me of animals or characters and day dream a story about them. If the weather is nice, consider opening your window a little bit and letting some fresh air into your room.
🐦 Bird watch! I have a bird feeder outside my window that I painted myself from a kid's kit. There are also bird feeders that have suction cups that can be stuck right on your window. You can also make your own seed ornaments. You could pick yourself up a kids book or two on learning to identify birds.
🌷 Get a window planter. You may need someone's help to set one up, but once they are in place they are fairly easy to care for. I like pansies and marigolds because they remind me of childhood, and they are low maintenance and do well in containers.
📖 Audiobooks are great for middles who want to read chapter books. If you have a library card you can borrow tons of audiobook, ebooks, and comics through hoopla and Libby for free. There are some audiobooks for younger kiddo books, but honestly I think YouTube is better for that.
🖼️ Scrapbooks and journals! Being penpals with another little is also an option, but I do recommend using basic internet safety and common sense. (I don't think you should do this if you are under 18). You could always scan/take pictures of your letter and send it digitally to your penpal instead.
🛏️ If you spend a lot of time in bed, and have the money to do so, I really recommend getting items to make your time in bed more comfortable. Extra pillows, or even a reading pillow can be helpful. Lap desks or bed tables can give you space to color or set up play scenes with small toys.
🌟 You can also decorate the area around your bed to make it more child like! Fairy lights, glow in the dark stars, bed canopies, posters, and the like.
🪑 I have a floor chair I use for times I am playing outside of my bed. Being close to the floor helps me feel small, but not having back support hurts after a short while. I have an adjustable one that I can lay flat on the floor as a sleeping mat. Very helpful for the times when I need a quick nap after playtime.
🎨 Check the seasonal and kids sections at dollar stores and Five Below. I usually find fun craft kits that can keep me occupied for a bit for really cheap.
🧶 Do your own crafts! I like the knit and crochet. Some people can do them in bed, but I find it difficult to find a comfortable way to do that. However making friendship bracelets in bed works out pretty well. They make great gifts, even for non little friends. Or you could make matching ones for you and your CG or favorite plushie!
🪀 Make your own sensory bin! You can find tons of tutorials and ideas online. Bonus is you can get most of the items you would use at the dollar store. There are tons of other DIY sensory toys you can make as well if you look around. Glitter/shaker bottles are pretty popular too.
🐇 Cuddle with your stuffed animals. Tell them stories. Play pretend. Read to them. They will appreciate all of it.
🎮 If you have an old 3DS stuffed away in a drawer somewhere, pull it back out. 3DS are fairly easy to install homebrew and there are toooons of kiddo friendly games you could get (check 3ds.hacks.guide for this, do not follow tutorials on YouTube or random websites as they very well could be outdated)
💊 Decorate your medicine organizers with stickers. If you use mobility aids you can decorate them as well! Fake flowers are great for decorating mobility aids and there are tons of ideas you can find online.
🍼 I have stomach problems that makes it hard for me to eat enough. I often drink Ensure to make sure I am getting enough calories/nutrients. I get the strawberry flavor and sometimes put it in my sippy cup and pretend it is strawberry milk 😋
😴 If you need rest, rest! You deserve to get as much sleep as your body needs. Babies and toddlers take naps all the time! Trying to just exist with chronic health issues is difficult enough. You don't need to push yourself.

Geto as a House Husband
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff Pairing: House husband Geto x Reader AN: I love him. He's so damn pretty. Who should I write next?
Tumblr media
Have you seen him? He is mother material. Born to cook forced to slay. Let's say in a different world, you whisk this beautiful man into the domestic bliss of marriage.
Massive cottage core vibes with this one. He is very taken by the idea of not being regarded as a killing machine. Immediately busies himself with the task of decorating your shared home.
Just take this man away. Elope to mountains and save him (hermit begs you).
Wedding planning is another demon. He debates every single decision. Asking you about your preference between white gardenias or white peonies. (You love him and he is too sweet for you to say out loud that you for the end of the world cannot distinguish the flowers)
He creates elaborate flowcharts to compare the pros and cons of different cake flavors, or insists on stress-testing the honeymoon resort's structural integrity with a cursed technique (much to the staff's bewilderment).
Let's not even get into Gojo's best man speech. No one really recovered from that.
DIY projects are his shit. Renovating a raggedy old dresser into a vintage masterpiece is where his magic lies. Let this man cook.
Your home with him is a a whimsical blend of vintage finds and hand-stitched throw pillows adorned with subtle wards against lingering curses. Even the strategically placed spider plants weren't just decorative – they doubled as a natural barrier against negative energy (a discovery that both surprised and amused you).
His transition into a normal 'monkey' life was endearingly awkward, like the time he spent hours meticulously decoupaging a floral pattern onto a chair, muttering about the inefficiency of glue compared to a simple binding spell.
And the day Suguru is introduced to the world of crocheting, your world flips on its axis. The pure look of joy on his face unravels the seams of your heart as he presents you with the mood changing octopus on your birthday.
Weekends with him are craft days. With a classic rom-com in the background as he sits next to you, his hands busy in the dance of needles and yarn. Better even your fingers run through his hair, braiding his hair only to wake up to your husband with perfect mermaid waves next day.
You both are the kind of sickly sweet couple that cause Shoko to gag in cringe during holiday gatherings.
Your husband glows with the simplicity of life. His hands busy themselves with crafts, chores, gardening, never a moment of rest even in the hull of domesticity.
He is your Disney princess that rushes out to refill the bird feeder with the first rays of Sun, hums pleasantly at the sight of a perfectly baked batch of cookies, or paints the most delightful sceneries on your ceilings.
Geto Suguru was made to create. He loves the fresh scent of sheets, experimenting with new flavors of tea, or going down the path of BookTok with Faerie romances much to your astonishment.
It isn't long before, you both end up adopting teeny tiny twins from the local orphanage. Suguru's darling girls he spends his life nurturing.
He took to fatherhood with the same surprising zeal he brought to everything else. His days were filled with braiding tiny pigtails, reading bedtime stories with dramatic voice inflections (complete with a surprisingly convincing rendition of a grumpy troll), and building elaborate pillow forts that rivaled any jujutsu barrier.
And on nights when dreams of a different reality kept him away, you held his hand in yours. Calling your girls for a family sleepover in the living room. That was all it took to whisk the sadness away from your beloved's eyes.

I am curious, how would Ellie's apartment in a modern au would look? this is just a mashup of ideas that i have, if you got a bunch of them add 'em!
Would she live closer to Joel? like her apartment will be located in a quiet neighborhood, she's just a few blocks from Joel's house (a 10-minute walk, tops), he likes knowing she's close just in case, even if she cringes every time he casually drops in with leftovers from dinner, maybe the building has a modest brick-and-wood exterior with a small communal staircase that creaks a little when you walk up to her door? the space itself is relatively compact, cozy but big enough for one person to stretch out without bumping elbows with furniture, there's nothing too fancy here but Ellie makes it hers in little ways that give it character, her door has a simple number plaque, someone's scribbled a doodle of an alien over it with permanent marker, she'd laugh about it every time she walked in if she weren't pretending to hate it lmao next to the alien, there's a faded band sticker peeling at the edges, i believe the apartment always smells faintly of coffee and whatever candle she's currently burning, maybe something woodsy or spicy? (there's a faint lil smell of weed lingering in the air, no matter how much she tries to air it out), her apartment overlooks a small park, where she likes to sit and sketch sometimes, she's got a bird feeder hanging outside of it, and she enjoys watching the birds come and go.
(i like to headcanon that she works with Joel as a handyman)
She got a second-hand couch covered with a few mismatched blankets thrown over the back, one of the blankets definitely has a dinosaur print that she adores, there's also a beanbag and a coffee bag of course, there are indents from drinks, stray paint streaks from an old project, and scratches and does Ellie have plants? maybe she got a small collection of succulents (that she can't kill kinda, they can die if you don't water them after a looong time) one by Joel and a bunch you two got together, it's a little collection of them in cute terracotta pots, maybe some different shapes and sizes (there are some colorful and silly stickers around the pots), she'd probably have them lined up on a windowsill, getting all the sunlight, you've been keeping them alive by quietly watering them behind her back when she invites you over, Ellie doesn't actually notice, but hey, they look great! she's even named some of them 'Captain Sprout', 'Groot Jr', Ellie is still trying to come up with a name for the others, give her some time poor sweetie), she's also got a small aloe vera plant that she actually does remember to water occasionally because she uses it for burns.
Oh, scattered on the shelves you can find little figurines, like the plastic T-Rex you got her and a LEGO spaceship she built and refuses to move because it's too fragile, next to them a few knick-knacks, like a cool rock she found on a hike (that she swears glows at night even though it absolutely doesn't, the "glowing" rock gets moved around every so often, as if Ellie is trying to find the perfect spot to amplify its non-existent glow, she's so silly i am gonna marry her one day) and two LEGO figurines, of you and Ellie, that she swore up and down were 'just something to mess with.' whatever Ellie. She got a decent set of speakers and a record player with some vinyl (don't ask me which one, i honestly don't know what type of music she would listen, sorry El, ily), her bluetooth speaker, she has def some funko pop figures still in the box because she's weirdly protective of them.
oh there's also a blu-ray because Star Wars owns a corner of her heart, and she has definitely mismatched mugs hanging on hooks ranging from a cheesy one that says "World's Okayest Lesbian" to some diy pottery mugs she found at a thrift shop (and one with a chipped handle that you gave her that says 'I Need Space' with stars on it), a coffee maker that’s clearly her lifeline to civilization... and next to it, a mug with a rubber dinosaur figurine glued randomly on the side (an early diy project from when she was bored, but you found it cute af, you called him 'Mr. Bitey'), the fridge is def decorated with an embarrassing collection of magnets you two brought from road trip stops, ticket from a concert that you two went to or of a museum (def not a date, no no), a photo booth strips with you and her making dumb faces (her precious treasure) she keeps it tucked under one of the magnets, sticking out from under one of the magnets, there is also a folded-up takeout menu from a local pizza place she likes and a chalkboard with a grocery list, what she has to do or just random doodles that you, the others and Joel made when you visit her, there's always a new passive-aggressive chalk scribble urging her to eat better ('ELLIE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, EAT SOMETHING BESIDES RAMEN - J') her own notes are rarer, but things like 'chocolate milk' or 'buy that good cereals' peek between the doodles, there's one goofy smiley face you drew the last time you were over and she hasn't erased them both
anddd she totes has a PS4/5 where she can play tlou (lolll jk jk or not, but if she does, you've caught her tearing up during the giraffe scene more than once) Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher, even Mario Kart which she keeps the number of how many times she's beaten you at it (She rages hard at Mario Kart, especially when you use the blue shell on her right before the finish line), and a pc with a gaming chair (the gaming chair is covered sometimes in cat hair, even though she doesn't have a cat. It's a mystery for both of you, it's actually the neighbor cat getting inside her apartment whenever she's out), she has this gaming keyboard with customizable rgb lighting that she sets to a rainbow pattern for now, she wants to decorate it but got no idea how, she has a bookshelves filled with comics, Savage Starlight is always on top, it's her holy grail, then there's dinosaur encyclopedias, space encyclopedias..sci-fi novels with titles that sound way too complicated for my liking and a gardening book is jammed in there too
Ellie also has a small flatscreen TV mounted on the wall, where she watches movies or plays games, the remote is perpetually buried in the couch cushions and you two always lose a good time for finding it, oh and Joel gifted a digital drawing tablet to her for her bday (there's a toons of dinosaurs, rockets, and lesbian pride rainbow stickers haphazardly slapped on the back of it) for art even if if she still likes to draw in the traditional way too (sketchbooks, pencils, maybe some paints tucked away in a drawer), posters of movies Alien, Star Wards Jurassic Park etc and of some bands she likes, she has a corkboard covered in snapshots of her, her friends and of you two (some are silly, some are sweet, and some are blurry messes), there's also a goofy one of her flipping off the camera shot by you.
On her nightstand there's her current read a novel (Gideon the ninth), a pair of earbuds she stole from you, her lip balm, her diary, a charging cable, and a half-empty glass of water you remember to bring with her when she's going to sleep, she has a dreamcatcher hanging above her bed even though she doesn't believe in that stuff, you gave it to her as a 'joke' (for her nightmares hoping it would actually help her a little), hidden somewhere are her half-done, guilty attempts at your portrait she swears aren't of you in her drawer, ooh she def has string lights strung above her bed too, instead under her bed she keeps a shoebox filled with old letters, a dried flower from the first time you brought her flowers, a movie ticket stub from the first movie you two saw together and other mementos from her life, it's her little time capsule of memories.
There's a mountain of clothes scattered everywhere, with one very particular section of it with your clothes. She swears it's because she needs to wash them (she did ofc), but the truth is, it's not the fully truth, she keeps your clothes just because she likes the scent but don't call her out of it, nono! when she's feeling particularly lonely, she'll wear one of your hoodies to bed. Don't tell her i told you that btw.
For the plushies...she has plushies, she def does. She has a good bunch of dino plushies but her fav ones are these, they're named "cucumber', 'mr snuggles' (cliché) and 'george' (museum gift shop), they're her bed buddies!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you're over at her place, you might catch her absentmindedly adjusting them or giving one a quick squeeze, she'll immediately act like she didn't do anything, but you'll know the truth.

hey I just realized maybe adding the baffle and an extra length of poll to my bird feeder would count for an egg? It was very frustrating (not to mention cold), but I didn't give up! And now the birds can eat in peace!

I love a good teeth-gritted, STAND BACK IM DOING THIS, ITS GETTING DONE, DIY project. Nice one. Thank you!

'Grief Finds You When You're Washing The Dishes'
an original poem on how grief intrudes on everyday life, and everyday life intrudes on grief

[Images ID: an original poem titled 'Grief Finds You When You're Washing The Dishes'. Poem begins:
When you’re scraping off ketchup dollops to flop into the plughole sop, with water sprinting from spoon like spring. You raise fingers from bubbles and there is where grief finds you, reaches for you, tentative and
a familiar friend, with shudder you look down at dishsoap wrinkle hands and there the hands - that are your hands - look a bit too much like
Your father was a liminal man, seemingly the warden, prisoner, and panopticon of his own masculinity; inherited from stern world war fatherhood, where one felt like he had to fight the war in his own home because they never really stopped seeing the trench walls closing around them
Your walls tighten to white and your eye floaters take shape of
Your father, he loved to do laundry – intricate intimate folding of linen and cotton, soft pouring of white detergent, ran laundry-day like a sergeant, reaching his arms up skyward to the washing-line like wings, calloused red-hands like moths caught in sunset fall, using masculinity to peg up the corners of his daughter’s men’s shirt to be lifted and stroked by breezes and sun; the glide of an iron, turning stormy crinkle to calm expanse – laundry-day was an art and
the smell of soap snaps senses back to the running of water and the clattering of buttons in the drum birds on the bird-feeder outside the window, he knew all their names would point them all out to you letting excitement take his hand blackbirds were his favourites but he’d always point out the tuxedo terrors
One for sorrow your hand is on the basin, your head is swimming in sponges He’d swim with you hands cupped and squeezing chlorine up skyward, like a DIY geyser geezer, grinning at your awed expression at how his hands could elicit such wonder eye to hand admiration You have to sit down the tap still running suds on your

Thick fingerpads perfect for kneading dough into light fluffy sourdough – did he see his mother in the hills of his hands? Your hands?
You turn off the tap and let grief hold you a while – warm firm remembrance all disconcert and embrace like a father’s hands - the hands you both share placed together in unification and creation, two for joy, tight enough to make water jump –
were they ever really just your hands?

Do you have any recommendations for cat toys that are wand toys (or toys that won't let them hurt me) that aren't easy to destroy? Or should I just let my cat destroy pet store toys? He loves ripping cheap ones apart, but I don't think it's good for him or my wallet.
Honestly I'm gonna put this out there for suggestions because the only toys that don't get completely destroyed for us are the electronic ones that we only play with under supervision and get put away once they're done being used. Unfortunately toys get destroyed, they get old, they get used. A cat is using that toy as a prey stand in (for the most part), and if you've ever seen what a cat can do to a mouse or bird, you can see what I mean when I say toys usually get off pretty light.
It can get pricey, though. So if you're looking for more hunt-inspired toys, it might be worth looking into some DIY cat toys to see what you can effectively create and recreate on a regular basis so it doesn't completely drain your wallet. We have some cat toys for years, but we also tend to switch toys out to keep the options as fresh as possible. Having a 'toy box' to store some toys might prolong your cat toy's life.
If your cat's food motivated, you might have some luck with using some form of puzzle feeder for alternative forms of stimulation. Knocking around a puzzle-fied toilet paper tube with some kibble in it can be just as much fun for a cat as that expensive toy.
