Okay svsss fandom give me your thoughts
So i was thinking about that scene where sqq jokingly asks the system if it ever worked with the harry potter franchise before and got inspired to write a harry potter au for svsss. The characters that would be involved are bingqiu and moshang but i can't figure out what Hogwarts house they would be in so do tell me your ideas.
How the story would go?
Basically the system malfunctions and suddenly transmigrated the 4 of them into the Harry Potter world. They can only escape if they help protect Harry and figure out who's the evil person trying to kill him (it's going to be centered in book 1). The problem? None of them knows about Harry Potter and so they're in a panic trying to solve who the evil person is without realizing Harry practically could not be killed because of the prophecy.

SV AU where, while Luo Binghe is supposed to be in the Abyss, Shen Qingqiu comes across a hellhound puppy.
Now, there is an arc in PIDW where Luo Binghe became a hellhound. But it happened like at least a century out from where they are in the timeline, after Binghe had come into his full demonic power, and involved him turning into a slavering beast that eventually become a slavering man-beast (werewolf, basically) who could only be cured by having a lot of very questionable sex with his wives. Shen Yuan wrote a rant about how yet another potentially interesting transformation arc was instead reduced to porn tropes, but it was one of several dozen such rants across many similar story arcs. Airplane barely even remembers writing it because he was having a pretty shit week and just wanted to get the chapters out.
So it doesn't really occur to either him or Shang Qinghua that finding a hellhound puppy might be suspicious. Unexpected, sure, but demons are turning up all over the place all the time, really. And it's years before Luo Binghe is even supposed to be out of the Abyss, like a century before his hellhound transformation story, and when Binghe did turn into a hellhound his two forms consisted of a fully-grown beast and a fully-grown man-beast. Not a puppy.
Of course: that hellhound puppy is definitely Luo Binghe.
He unwittingly triggered this subplot early, and because he's still a young adult, he gets stuck in a juvenile puppy form because hellhounds don't reach fully maturity until they're like fifty.
Anyway, this creates something of a pickle for Luo Binghe, because he's legitimately stuck in this form and can't figure out how to change back. This is not part of his plans. He's fleeing from Huan Hua Palace cultivators who are trying to kill him, which they might succeed at because his Heavenly Demon powers don't seem to be working.
He runs right into Shizun, who is on one of his "investigate stuff to forget the depression" field trips with Liu Qingge.
Luo Binghe is fully expecting his righteous Shizun to kill the demonic beast, and has a moment to think that at least that's better than being killed by Huan Hua, before Shizun rescues him instead.
Shen Qingqiu, meanwhile, is actually kind of excited. There was a lot of lore in PIDW about how hellhounds can actually make loyal companions if they're trained up from young enough of an age, but finding hellhound puppies would be difficult for anyone who wasn't a demonic nobleman, and most of the "trained" hellhounds just disappeared into the harem as gifts to various demon wives and were never seen or heard from again. No additional information, like the full extent of their abilities or what kind of companions they made beyond "loyal" or anything! A species of demon that could even potentially be domesticated by humans, and it was just left at that?!
Needless to say, Shen Qingqiu's not letting Huan Hua Palace kill this one. This is a rare chance for him to get a cool monster companion!
Although... such a creature might die when Luo Binghe comes to take his revenge.
Well, he'll deal with that when he has a chance. Maybe Shang Qinghua can take it to Mobei Jun or Shen Qingqiu can find another place for it before then. In the meanwhile, at least going back to Qing Jing Peak with him is better than being killed on the spot. He talks Liu Qingge into going along with it (Liu Qingge thinks he's insane but also folds like wet tissue paper), under stipulation that the hellhound's demonic energies are sealed and it gets muzzled before they bring it back with them.
Shen Qingqiu rides with it in a carriage, and feels so bad for the poor doggo looking miserable without his demon powers or even his mouth free that he secretly takes the muzzle back off while Liu Qingge isn't looking.
Luo Binghe is overwhelmed with the mixed sentiments of confusion (doesn't his shizun hate demons? is a Heavenly Demon really so especially repulsive to him?), happiness (he's going home! Shizun found him and is taking him home!), worry (Shizun please do not un-muzzle random demonic beasts just because they look sad!), and some rather embarrassing personal revelations about the appeal of being Shizun's pet. The latter situation worsens exponentially after the first time he gets good boy'd and petted for the first time.
Regardless, Shen Qingqiu does take him back to Qing Jing Peak and settles in to train and observe his new puppy. No one thinks this is precisely a good project but it is a project, and is not for instance "staring blankly into the distance while kneeling in front of a sword mound", so on balance everyone decides they'll just keep an eye on things and make sure the hellhound doesn't maul the peak lord. Lots of "just dropping in for a visits" by a rotating cast of peak lords (they have a schedule).
But the hellhound puppy is a fabulous pet! Actually, Shen Qingqiu thinks it's really remarkable how smart and readily tamed he is? Barely a few days in and he's obediently following Shizun's commands, except for "stay", which he seems to struggle with. He doesn't maul or threaten any of the disciples, only growls at Shang Qinghua sometimes and makes a few aggressive displays at Liu Qingge. The former case is just good taste, and as to the latter, well, clearly the hellhound is sensitive and intelligent, and has a more-than-rudamentary understanding of words spoken to him. He probably remembers that Liu Qingge wanted to kill him when they first met. Shen Qingqiu takes his time soothing his puppy and assuring him that he won't come to any harm, he's perfectly safe on Qing Jing Peak with Shen Qingqiu.
At least, for now.
Although actually, the more Shen Qingqiu thinks about it, the more convinced he becomes that Hellhound (sue him, he's not the best with names) would be a perfect companion for Luo Binghe once he gets out of the Abyss. The only difficulty would be in how to convince Binghe to accept him, and also how to keep his now-loyal hound from trying to defend his master when justice comes due. Shen Qingqiu figures he'll cross that bridge when he comes to it, and in the meanwhile takes some time to explain to Hellhound about his disciple, Luo Binghe, who is enduring a terrible trial in the Abyss, but who will return one day having become Emperor of the Demon Realms and could probably use a steadfast and intelligent companion who is interested in more than just his incredible amounts of power or irresistible good looks.
Luo Binghe Himself: ?!?!?!

I really love your platonic interpretation of lbh and sqh throughout your fics, and in stepping up in particular. it’s really interesting to see lbh as his clingy, sticky self with sqh as hus shizun but not as lovesick compared to svsss lbh to Shen yuan as his shizun. I do wonder what are your thoughts on the difference on LBH his feelings for Shizun!SY and Shizun!SQH?
Thank you! I've been thinking on this question and I still don't think I'm satisfied on the wording of my answer. I wrote some long rambles, but they were kind of directionless, so I'm going to try and squish it down into something more coherent. SPOILERS.
I think Luo Binghe in both "Stepping Up" and SVSSS is a person of very intense and complicated feelings, partially due to his youth, his past, and his position in life. And so... I don't actually think Luo Binghe's feelings are that different for SQH versus SQQ (SY). The relationship is platonic and will never be romantic, but I intentionally wrote Luo Binghe's feelings to be a little ambiguous.
I think it would be out-of-character for Luo Binghe not to have had the thought: "I would treat Shizun so much better than that wicked, ungrateful bully of a demon if he loved me instead." He wants his teacher's attention, approval, and affection. I think Luo Binghe at this stage in his life wants both everything and anything he can get.
Entrance to Cang Qiong is equivalent to saving his life. Poverty kills and Luo Binghe has witnessed this firsthand in the death of his adoptive mother. Cultivation skills potentially guarantee survival forever, even if he gets kicked out of the sect. So, he starts out desperate to impress so that he doesn't lose everything.
There's lot to be said about the quality of life that SQH and SY both offer LBH. In "Stepping Up", I think that LBH has more immediate and greater stability on An Ding, but the introduction of Mobei-Jun and revelation of his demonic heritage brings some desperation and uncertainty back to LBH's life. SQH and SY are both revealed to be imperfect and in need of help and potentially protection.
I think that the main difference here is mostly just that Shang Qinghua has positioned himself as interested in someone else romantically and exclusively sees LBH as a disciple and a son figure. SQH doesn't have the System breathing down his neck like SY did (SY is fighting for his life to show any kind of kindness to LBH at first in SVSSS), so SQH can be a lot more straightforward about exactly why he was interested in LBH (demon kid) and more clearly set the boundaries and expectations of their relationship.
SQH and MBJ are a mess, but they're also arguably already a form of life partners even at their messed-up master-servant stage, and LBH is the intruder on a relationship of nearly 20 years. SQH and MBJ have a lot more life experience in this world and it shows. As LBH adjusts to the rather confusing Moshang relationship, which SQH is clearly intent on maintaining, whatever desperate teenage romantic crush he might have is fading rather than developing, as things start to settle into something better and it becomes clear that there's not one spot in SQH's life to fight over.
Honestly? I think a lot of romantic and platonic affection overlaps. Gestures of affection can be very subjective and context-dependent. Awkward crushes on inappropriate figures happen, especially in a period of sexual development and discovery. I think LBH being able to develop interest in people who aren't Shen Yuan is fun (rarepairs are fun to explore!) and makes Bingqiu more interesting overall.

Having more Shen Mei AU thoughts, but this time it’s about Mobei-2. Technically he should be Mobe1-Jun, since he’s the Original but shhhh
So! I was considering ships & while, sure, not everyone needs a partner... I figured this AU already has one cross-universe ship, why not two? Which led me to two funny possibilities (coz it has to be funny): either Mo²shang or Mobei-2 / Liu Qingge. I decided that the first one, while imo is the funniest potential outcome, isn’t all that likely. Whereas the second one could work with enough shenanigans (and like time... and character development... but mostly shenanigans).
Anyway!
This led me to imagining a scenario where Mobei-Jun’s curiosity finally gets the best of him & he decides to follow Bing-ge into the revised PIDW world. Bing-ge asserts that he’s not allowed to kill anyone--like not because he cares in particular? He just doesn’t want to risk upsetting “Ning Yingying” by allowing his subordinate to accidentally murder someone she’s attached to. Better safe than sorry.
Other than that? Do whatever. Bing-ge has business of his own to attend to & Mobei-Jun can surely find something to occupy himself with. Mostly, he ends up wandering— marveling a little at the fact that this world’s human & demon realms are still separate entities. Though, frankly, the banality of it all inevitably bores him. He thinks about paying An Ding a visit. After all, he’s heard that Shang Qinghua is still alive in this world. Somehow. Really, he’d nearly forgotten about that sleazy, little human til Bing-ge brought him up in passing…
Yet, on his way to Cang Qiong, he makes first contact with Liu Qingge instead. Now, THIS Mobei-Jun has never-ever met Liu Qingge before. The man was already dead well before he gave a damn. He’d heard of him? A long time ago. No one of particular importance to him, which made Liu Qingge even more forgettable than his former lackey. Yet, judging by this man’s looks, his sword, and his demeanor? Mobei-Jun rightfully assumes this stranger is some sort of Important Cultivator. Irritating.
The feeling is mutual… though Liu Qingge doesn’t realise this isn’t their Mobei-Jun. They’re pretty much identical, after all. So, his first instinct is to remark “If you’re looking for your dog... Qinghua’s not home.”
Which is truly one hell of a way to introduce yourself. Though, unfortunately, Mobei-Jun doesn’t recognise him, prompting the question “And you would be..?”
And y’know what? Liu Qingge is offended. Not because he cares about Mobei-Jun’s opinion, but even if this demon doesn’t remember his name, then he should at least remember their fight! They destroyed so much of Luo Binghe’s palace & all because of that little weasel... (Liu Qingge’s been told to behave around them, but he’s not entirely convinced)
So, they fight! because of course they do. As if there was any other outcome. However, since Mobei-Jun isn’t allowed to kill anyone... it’s— well, it feels a bit like flirting, because Liu Qingge definitely isn’t a pushover! Hell, he likely wouldn’t have gotten killed even if Mobei-Jun had been allowed to try. Interesting.
The fight ends in a stalemate, because unfortunately they’re both beholden to Not Murdering Each Other. Liu Qingge still doesn’t realise it isn’t their Mobei-Jun. He will not realise this for a while—not until several days later when Shang Qinghua returns to Cang Qiong Mountain from whatever errand he was on and can be sufficiently grilled on Why His Whatever Is Like That. (Shang Qinghua is confused? He was with Mobei-Jun the whole time???)
Though, in the present & with his boredom satisfied, Mobei-2 leaves without another word, leaving Liu Qingge with more questions than answers.
TLDR this keeps happening, because Liu Qingge can’t leave well enough alone & Mobei-2 remains curious enough to join Bing-ge on future excursions. It’s on-sight for Liu Qingge tbh. So, their dynamic becomes: Mobei-2 feeling awfully flirted with (dubious) (irritated) (impressed?) while Liu Qingge is completely oblivious to the implication. Yet, Mobei-2 doesn’t—can’t really, because he can’t kill Liu Qingge—completely discourage it, either.
Perhaps one day you’ll wear him down with your unintentional courtship, Qingge. Then what.
(no one knows, especially not them)
Mobei-2 is especially in a Position, because he’s still Airplane’s ideal of a man—never given any reason to change his frigid demeanor or unpack that there are still probably feelings down there somewhere… buried under layers & layers of frost. He’s cynical and impassive save for the occasional bout of temper. The man would not know what to do if an unavoidably determined suitor* began making him feel. Something. Yet, he can’t kill the feeling, because he still can’t kill Liu Qingge. So, his only real option is to stop following Bing-ge into the other world. Yet, doing that only makes Mobei-2 restless.
*citation needed
—and Bing-ge is Very Serious that Mobei-2 isn’t allowed to get rid of Liu Qingge, because Liu Qingge is one of “Ning Yingying” / Shen Mei’s favourite people, as it turns out. (tfw having a favourite character in your previous life saves the Real-Life Version from attempted murder… because the would-be murderer is beholden to the guy currently trying to woo you. Oof.)
Not that killing Liu Qingge would have made Mobei-2 feel better. Really, it would have done the opposite. Besides that, a successful kill would also be disappointing—a decent suitor has to be able to survive courtship and all. Vexing, all of it is so vexing.
And I think it’s funny. Extreme slow-burn Enemies to ????? to Intense Devotion (as rivals) to Tolerance to Lovers — only after many years, much conflict, and several misunderstandings, of course. Liu Qingge doesn’t know what the fuck happened. Yet, [future] Mobei-2 has no problem fighting alongside him against other demons, monsters, and so forth. So, while he’s hesitant to call Mobei righteous by any standards, their loyalty complexes complement one another. It’s not perfect, but it is… nice…
Courtship successful?

MOBEI JUN PRESENTING A LOAF OF BREAST TO SHANG QINGHUA LOLOL
I know it's a typo, but it perfectly incapsulates the demon's confusion of the food debates going on. They don't get it, they kind of try to copy it, but the result is like old people trying to use slang that the current teenagers use. AKA it goes terribly wrong.
Liu Mingya is an equal opportunity writer meaning she writes BL, GL, and BG. She writes about a world where Shen Qingqiu was turned into a man because of an undiscovered plant. There's another world where Luo Binghe is a female. Any and all combos are thoroughly explored.
Shen Qingqiu does have to have a looooong conversation with Cang Qiong sect that just because she's getting married that it doesn't mean she's leaving her peak lord position or never coming back to see them again. She's a modern woman! She can multitask!
Plus what's up with everyone assuming that Shen Yuan is the one who's going to run and manage the household? Nah bro, that's Luo Binghe's job. He called dibs for it first and Shen Yuan's more than happy to relinquish the tedious work.
With Shen Yuan in Shen Qingqiu's now female body, I have to wonder. Did he just leap to wearing feminine hanfu styles because he doesn't know better (aka he has no clue what he's wearing and just wears whatever people tell him to wear.) OR did he make the conscious choice to dress as the gender that his body is presenting since he assumed Shen Qingqiu was always a female? Third option is that Shen Yuan "switches" to masculine robes (aka Shen Jiu's original style not that Shen Yuan realizes it) because he feels it's more appropriate as a mentally 20 year old male NEET from modern China.
To counteract the surge of yang energy that came from depositing a second male soul (Shen Yuan) into Shen Qingqiu’s body, the system had to turn the physical body into a female so that even though the yin and Yang energy now doubled, it was the same ratio as before.
It didn’t matter that Shen Jiu’s soul had already passed on. The body still needed more Yin.
And thus Cang Qiong wrote off Shen Qingqiu’s previous prickliness as being body dysmorphia as this new version of Shen Qingqiu - the new female version - was clearly so much happier and easy going. Truly, they regret not realizing and helping their shijie out earlier. It had to take a qi deviation that forcibly corrected her body to the right gender to set everything right.

molasses dark as pitch 5 snippet
The first ashen tryst goes very well, according to Mobei-Jun. Sha Hualing meets up with Mobei-Jun and Shang Qinghua after they move Shen Qingqiu to the Northern King's base of operations just down the hall from Luo Binghe's. (It wasn't safe to send him back to the Water Prison, and except in certain specific situation, kismeses didn't live together.) Shang Qinghua looks slightly dazed by the experience.
The hallway not being the best meeting place for quadrant discussions, Mobei-Jun silently leads Sha Hualing and Shang Qinghua into a classroom that's been set up as a sitting room. "Junshang obeyed boundaries set by Qinghua," he says, beginning his report. His voice is calm and even, but here's an affectionate hum under the ice. He goes on to give an outline of what happened, and the interactions between the potential leaves of the club. "Qinghua is the best choice for an arranged auspistice between Junshang and his Shizun."
"I am only a servant, my king," Shang Qinghua says. Protests. "Junshang has no reason to listen to me."
"Shang Qinghua underestimates himself," Sha Hualing says.
"Shang Qinghua is not a demon, and has no idea of what he's doing," Shang Qinghua protests, looking between the two of them.
"A-Luo has no idea of what he's doing either!" Sha Hualing says teasingly. "So you are in good company."
"You did fine," Mobei-Jun says.
"How is this one a suitable auspistice, my king? From what is understood, an auspistice must be able to at time physically prevent their outer leaves from fighting. This one could not stand against Junshang," Shang Qinghua protests.
Sha Hualing rolls her eyes. "An auspistice needs no great skill at fighting," she says. "They only need to stop the fighting."
"How?" Shang Qinghua says, as if he hadn't done that very thing.
"In this case, you pointed out Luo Binghe's pitch feelings for his Shizun, and corrected Shen Qingqiu's belief that Binghe beats his wives," Sha Hualing says. "Despite being afraid, you put yourself forward, which I think ignited an ashen interest?" She looks over to Mobei-Jun
Mobei-Jun nods. "Junshang seemed ashen. I don't know about Shen Qingqiu."
"Shen Qingqiu is going to stick a shiv in me at the first opportunity," Shang Qinghua muttered. "This servant wouldn't say he put himself forward."
"You did though," Sha Hualing says.
"What does 'an ashen interest' mean?" Shang Qinghua asks.
"Annoyance," Mobei-Jun says unhelpfully.
Sha Hualing rolls her eyes. "If I feel annoyed I want to bite. Ashen interest is more like being bitten and you don't want to bite back because yes, what you did was stupid."
Mobei-Jun allows her the point with a slight eye roll of his own. "Fine," he says.
"I definitely do not want to bite Junshang," Shang Qinghua says.
"Luckily you didn't have to!" Sha Hualing says. "Or need to. An auspistice deflects and arbitrates a failed kismesis. The middle leaf is the wedge shoving the kismesis apart and back into their own corners. If the action of the middle leaf is accepted, the outer leaves acknowledge this authority and court the middle leaf by bringing their grievances about the other leaf to them."
"This one is only a slave, and has no authority," Shang Qinghua says.
"Qinghua is this king's spymaster," Mobei-Jun says sharply. "You are this king's most trusted advisor. Who has dared say you have no authority?"
Shang Qinghua stammers, wide-eyed at the Northern King, but words are not really forthcoming. He looks so startled and confused, Sha Hualing has to swallow the pale coo she wants to make. It would be so very embarrassing, and the human wouldn't understand. "Shang Qinghua's former network did rely on his position as Peak Lord of An Ding," she points out.
"Shang Qinghua checks the backgrounds of this king's staff and guard and keeps an eye on enemy agents," Mobei-Jun says angrily. "He has kept this king's family in check, something this one would not have thought possible."
Sha Hualing turns an interested, curious look at a very flustered, surprised Shang Qinghua. "How?"
"I mostly aim them at each other," Shang Qinghua says.

Scum Disciple Deleted
-scenes. Here you go @vodkassassin. Unformatted and mostly unedited save for some awkward phrasing I fixed as I skimmed through it. I have a habit of merely taking out scenes rather than straight deleting them when I don't think they work out so if you see it on the fic shhh I probably just found a better place for it, but for the most part I think these are unused
TLJ + MF; Flashback/Illusion
[Log: File:Save_??-???.?.????.log]
“You know, for a man so keen on maintaining the preference of a dignified cultivator, you are fairly quick to disband such things as you see fit,” Tianlang-jun mused.
Ming Fan threw a dirty look to the former Overlord of the Demonic Realm over his bowl of beef stir fry lily bulbs. It was a specialty in this region, boasting a sweet lily bulb due to the length of time the farmers around the area spent cultivating the plant. In other words, it was delicious and a welcome change to the guilt trip galore that was eating Lou Binghe’s cooking.
Oh to eat that delicious snow congee without feeling the compulsion to throw it all back up-
Well, no use dwelling on such things.
“Most of anything could be considered vulgar when in close proximity to you,” Ming Fan quipped, taking a generous helping of the stir-fry between his chopsticks. “If you had as much sensibility as you had sensuality, I guarantee that people would be more fond of you. Unfortunately, it is too late for me.”
“Hoh? Is that so?” Tianlang-jun’s lips curled in a smirk in spite of the fact that Ming Fan had no interest looking his way, regardless of the other demon happened to do. Some odd five or so years have taught Ming Fan that there were times when the best move for dealing with the other was simply ignoring him.
Ming Fan maintained his bland tone as he briefly paused to speak, “Yes.”
Tianlang-jun shook his head, “Honestly. Are all disciples of Cang Qiong like you, or are you just the special one.”
Said disciple only gave Tianlang-jun a significant dirty look, “You’d have to actually behave yourself to get to know another disciple of Cang Qiong.”
“Eh,” the Heavenly Demon leaned back against his chair with his hands crossed behind his head. “Too boring.”
Ming Fan made a noncommitting sound as he finally ate the last of his order, letting out a satisfied sigh as he leaned back in his seat.
“Ming Fan, a question if you are so gracious enough to grant me such a thing.”
Ming Fan only raised a brow, “You may ask, whether I answer is not on the table.”
“Why?” Tianlang-jun paused as he attempted to think about his question. “Why do you maintain this relationship of ours? It’s not as if you’re on any obligation to maintain basic relations for a political reason, and you hardly ask me anything so you aren’t after my wisdom. With Lou Binghe going in and out Cang Qiong Sect, it’s not as if I can threaten your Sect any more than I could try and fight with my son.”
Ming Fan crossed his arms, humming for a moment tilting his head just enough to convey thoughtfulness he turned to look the demon lord in the eye, “If you were to be confronted with a former enemy of a war without meaning, what would you do?”
Tianlang-jun hummed, “I wouldn’t care.”
“Exactly,” Ming Fan pointed out. “Now what would you do if you discovered you were on the wrong side of that war?”
“…I still wouldn’t care.”
“Would you?” Ming Fan hummed, “Well, that’s your choice.”
“So is that all? You pity me?”
“Not quite,” Ming Fan shrugged, idly arranging the finish plate on the table. “More like my recompense of sorts.”
Tianlang-jun’s expression was unreadable as he stared, quietly adding, “You realize that I’ve killed hundreds of cultivators like you. Your age, younger- older. It didn’t matter, they were obstacles in my path and I removed them.”
“Of that I do not doubt, but these days- the line between righteous and mad is thin,” Ming Fan snorted. “I stand at the meager in-between myself. But what else can I do? I am but a mere mortal, attempting to right his wrongs.”
Ming Fan took a final sip at his tea, “Sometimes, that is all one can do without going well and truly mad.”
Tianlang-jun chuckled, “I suppose that’s true.”
The hours seemed endless after that, a moment in time felt like hundreds upon billions as the two simply- existed.
“So,” Tianlang-jun said after an eternity’s moment. “What are you doing here Little Cultivator?”
Ming Fan blinked, “Is this not one amongst our many meetings?”
The world seem to blur around him like ink amongst a pool of water. Fading into implied images as the sky and trees distorted. The sounds of the earth quieted to a hushed whisper. Ming Fan’s eyes casted around in confusion as the lively village dulled into a dead silence.
“It isn’t,” Tianlang-jun leaned back, smirking. “You’ve spent so long with me that I am now here with you- in limbo. I’m flattered Fan-er.”
Ming Fan narrowed his eyes, scowling, before looking away, “Definitely. Tianlang-jun never called me that to my face.”
Ming Fan twisted away from the…demon for some time to think.
TLJ + MF - Actual Flashback
“You look like you went a round and three more with a golem,” Tianlang-jun tsked at him.
“Are you going to lecture me about coming out while I look like I lost against said golem or are you going to sit your ass down and have some tea like we agreed?” Ming Fan snapped, wincing as he sat.
Tianlang-jun whistled wolfishly. “Why, I never took that War God to be the kinky type.”
“Don’t be so obscene,” Ming Fan rolled his eyes. “He landed me flat on my ass almost a dozen times. Of course sitting down would be a pain.”
“You know there’s this flower that-“
“No.”
“But I hurt just looking at you,” Tianlang-jun whined like a particularly annoying brat. “One tiny little adventure to look for a flower that heals bruises instantly, it’s a Lotus of a blue hue, I hear those people from the far West have been using it for some time.”
“And then Liu Qingge will have me spar against him, again, and this hellish circle will repeat itself. I am only saved by the fact that my cultivation is not as advanced as one of a Peak Lords, otherwise I would be healed by the end of the week and my pain begins anew,” Ming Fan shook his head. “I appreciate your concern, I really do, but no.”
“Aww, well since you’re being so polite about it…” Tianlang-jun sighed and sipped from the tea. “Mn- this is good. Where did you get it?”
“Shang-shishu taught me how to prepare lemon tea before the fruits go out of season, apparently there is a sweetened-cold version of this as well, but he has yet to refine the technicalities of the ingredients. I worry for him, he always seems so busy.”
“He looks like a rodent who accidentally ate a pepper, though I suppose in this case it would be a block of ice what with Mobei-jun being his lover and all.”
“I did wonder how that happened, and worried a brief time. An Ding Peak’s disciples had said that their master would occasionally come home bruised and barely able to walk, they were rearing to go to war with the Northern Demons far before everything else happened.” Ming Fan sighed, “Well, it isn’t any of my business. I’m sure they’re dealing with the situation in their own way.”
“True that, those An Ding Peak children…physically they are weak, but it is always the weaker ones that surprise you the most. Especially when angry,” Tianlang-jun smiled as he mused. “Afterall, hornets don’t seem like much at first glance. That Mobei-jun has his work cut out for him, ah, speaking of. What of those two? Surely the boy is tip-toeing these days.”
“He tends to keep to the bamboo house, and we tend to stay far away from the bamboo house, especially at night.” Ming Fan raised his hand to drink. “That is all I will say of the matter.”
Ming Fan sighed, rubbing a hand against his eyes, “I am getting far too old for this.”
“Oh please, you’re not even a century old.”
“Hm, and yet somehow I am still significantly more mature than you. Have you reached the regression stage of life Tianlang-jun? I must say, I’m rather peeved that it’s a mental deterioration rather than a physical one for you demons.”
“Hoh?” Tianlang-jun leaned forward, smirking. “Wish to test how youthful I can be Little Cultivator?”
Ming Fan raised a hand idly pointing at the silks of Tianlang-jun’s clothes, startling the heavenly demon as he wondered just what the other had found on his clothes.
Then Ming Fan flicked up, hitting the former Demon Lord up the lip and under the nose, causing Tianlang-jun to recoil, sputtering from the unjust attack. The audacity.
“I’m sure you’d at least warm the bed,” He deadpanned, sipping at his tea without a care as Tianlang-jun sputtered indignantly.
NMJ/MF - Original Re-meeting for ch 52; added here for my convenience (cus i don't wanna make another post)
“Gather everyone who can fight!” One voice called. “Sect Leader Nie is being surrounded by a pack of hell hounds! They need help.”
Ming Fan was out and running before anyone could even blink- with only Liu Qingge and Tianlang-jun holding enough time to react by following him.
-
“Shit-“ Mingjue cursed, swinging around Bàxià to hurl one attacking hound over to the side. “Meng Yao- you alright?!”
“Could use-” Meng Yao grimaced as he had to back off to avoid the snapping jaws of another hound. “Some help.”
“Reinforcements should be on the way!” Mei Lin cursed venomously under her breath. “Just where the hell did all these damned dogs come from?!”
“We’re being overrun!” Lang Fengyi yelped as he narrowly avoided claws.
“Fuck-“ Mingjue gathered his energy, willing it to fill him once more. “Get ready to run! I should be able to distract them long enough to-“
“Don’t worry about that.”
The disciples of Nie turned to find a man arrogantly walking through the field, the hounds yipping in fear and running from him, as well as another man clad in white and silver who eyed the hounds back.
Tianlang-jun stood before the disciples of Qinghe Nie with a bright smile, “Relax now, everything will be fine.”
Liu Qingge huffed, drawing his sword, “Says you. We have to make sure he’s not overworking himself remember?”
There was a distant rumbling- an ominous presence that washed over them to the point where all the hounds began to shudder and shake in fear as they too yipped around fearfully.
Descend with great speed. Swift and merciless. Run my enemies. Leave none left alive. May death greet you well.
Formation formed.
Ming Fan dropped his sword with militaristic precision, tilting all the swords generated by his power towards the ground in varying angles.
Heavenly Wrath Formation.
Tianlang-jun looked up in the surprise, “Don’t tell me that’s-“
“It is,” Liu Qingge scowled.
“Who-“ Nie Mingjue began- before all hell broke loose.
Liu Qingge’s expression was thunderous as he swept past rows of demonic hounds, tilting on hand and waiting-
Another man dropped from the sky not a second later, catching Liu Qingge’s robes and righting him before swinging his legs on the man’s waist to get around and jab another hound in the back- Tianlang-jun was swift to join the fray, allowing the shorter cultivator to move around him to get at all the lucky hounds who managed to move away from Ming Fan’s deadly aim fast enough.
While Tianlang-jun added to the deadly partnership with his own flare, it was the pair of Ming Fan and Liu Qingge that showed the obvious years of partnership between them- for the two had years of spars and night hunts to guide their blades where they need be.
Heads flew, limbs joining them as the immortals of Cang Qiong Sect and Tianlang-jun of the Heavenly Demon Line slaughtered the feared and the rowdy- leaving those of Qinghe Nie in awe.
“..Wei…” Meng Yao said, knees beginning to grow weak. “Wei Fan?!”
The man abruptly froze, glancing towards their direction before seeming to move on instinct- the War God sensing the sudden change and using his arm to propel him outward, allowing the man to fly across the air and land his sword true through the skull of the hell hound that was just about to take a chunk from Nie Mingjue’s side.
Ming Fan, not upset as he was, barked at them venomously, “Just what do you think you’re doing?! Fucking move! You’re in a battle field! Fight damn you! Are you not of Qinghe Nie?!”
“Teacher Wei!” Mei Lin cried- openly actually, crying.
“Oh for the love of-“ Ming Fan cursed. “I’ll take your crying and yelling and cursing later, lift your sabres and fight!”
“Xiao-Fan!”
Ming Fan turned, grunting as he launched his sword in the Heavenly Demon’s direction and skewering the hound. “What?!”
“Lower your blood pressure!”
Ming Fan felt his blood pressure rise out of sheer spite. “Fuck you!”
“A-Fan,” Liu Qingge growled. “You just performed one of the most powerful formations while silent. Calm down.”
“I can’t!” Ming Fan caught himself with a scowl. “But I’m not upset!”
“For the love of-“ Liu Qingge turned to Tianlang-jun. “Can you handle the rest?”
“Yeah I got it,” Tianlang-jun batted away a hound with his bare fist. “Just take care of our pissed off little horse first.”
Liu Qingge wasted no time, grabbing the now fuming Ming Fan, his nose beginning to trickle with a line of blood and generally causing the already shocked disciples of Qinghe Nie to panic.
“Hey,” Liu Qingge’s voice was soft as it was firm. “Calm down. Calm. That’s not a request.”
“I’m trying,” Ming Fan hissed. “You try doing this in the middle of battle.”
“Alright back up plan,” Liu Qingge turned to the still shocked Nie Mingjue. “You. Make yourself useful. He needs a distraction.”
“Wha-“
Liu Qingge shoved Ming Fan into Nie Mingjue, the taller man abruptly catching the man by the waist to steady him before something else caused him to loose balance.

Cold wind swept past the ravine.
Shaking trees and rustling branches provided the background noise for the twittering creatures who lived in the back mountains. Within this quiet land was a surrounding of high elevation mountains spanning all around the mountain side.
There, Ming Fan sat quietly. Watching the creatures bellow- there were no humans for miles save for those few people within the Ancient Sect, and they were hardly just human anymore.
“So, you’ve finally decided to get off your ass.”
Ming Fan stiffened.
Yang Yixuan’s arms were cross across his breast, idly looking down from the view of Qing JIng Peak.
The landscape had changed much since Ming Fan had last come here, it was greener. With the trees far taller than when Ming Fan had last seen them, the older trees cut down by the ravages of war and time- but new ones taking their place. The silence too, was new. With no disciples Cang Qiong Mountain was a far quieter place than it had been during the height of its Sect Years. Some ascended, some peacefully settling into their next life, and some sticking around. Going to and fro the place carrying out errands and enacting a firm hand where the average Cultivator could not handle. The war had put a damper on such things, what with their stance of neutrality, bu it was no less somewhat of a sobering surprise that those of Cang Qiong Mountain had seen what was happening and judged it would be better to remain quiet.
He knew why of course, it was more practical in the long run for a mythical Sect, they were not here to force the future into their own hands- merely to counter the monsters of the yester years. Still. He wondered.
“You’re thinking so loud I could practically here it,” the former head disciple of Bai Zhan peak, the former Peak Lord himself, continued with a raised brow. “You’re normally quick to empty your mind and dump it onto others.”
Ming Fan scoffed softly, “Normal is a poor basis to use to pass judgement at the moment, even a Bai Zhan Peak buffoon like you should realize such.”
“…”
Ming Fan pursed his lip, anger simmering.
Settle.
Settle.
Settle.
“I’m sorry, that was uncalled for.” He said softly, allowing his fist to slack from their death-like grip.
“You just lost your brohter,” Yang Yixuan said bluntly. “You were a raving asshole when Liu-shifu dragged you here. Pretty much spat at Luo Binghe’s feet and insulted just about everyone.”
Ming Fan restrained the urge to flinch at every word.
“I’d be more than a little troubled if you didn’t act like that after losing your brother.” Yang Yixuan continued with a shake of his head. “It’s good to know that our illustrous Ming Fan is still a human.”
“Have I not proven that time and time again?”
“Dunno,” Ming Fan turned his head, the Bai Zhan Peak’s former sole disciple’s voice turning uncharacteristically soft. “You were doing a pretty good impression of acting like an immortal before.”

Sorry if they're too many, you don't have to answer everything! What is your fave novel of the three? Favorite/least favorite character for each one? Favorite male/female character for each one (aside from you all-time fave)? Favorite canon ship? Favorite non-canon ship? Least favorite of them (and why)? Favorite tool/weapon in the three? They're so many, sorrysorrysorry!
Don’t worry, I love answering questions! There might be some spoilers here, so... be wary of them.
Ok, let’s go in order:
1.
My favorite novel of the three is Tian Guan Ci Fu. When I read Mo Dao Zu Shi I told myself “okay, I don’t think anything could beat this”, and then TGCF came around. I think this novel is, in general, one of my favorite books of all time. Aside from the romance part of it (which is often what people mainly focus on when it comes to MXTX), I really loved the characters and the story is absolutely incredible. I ended up getting so involved in it that I read the entire thing + the extras in three days, subsequently read what was out of the manhua in... maybe two hours? and watched the entire donghua as soon as it came on Netflix in one sitting. The only time this happened to me before TGCF was with the Silmarillion.
This tells a lot.
2.
Favorite SVSSS character: Luo BingHe shares his first place with Shen QingQiu.
Least favorite SVSSS character: Immortal Master Lao Gongzhu of Huan Hua Palace. I cannot even begin to explain how disgusted I was by that character, I almost never hated anyone more than him.
Favorite MDZS character: Wei WuXian. He’s been my favorite character from the beginning. His story follows exactly one of my favorite character dynamic, much like many other favorites of mine (from good to evil to neutral/somewhat good again, even if in this case WWX didn’t actually turn evil). I’m pretty sure the same can be said of almost everyone in my favorite list... oh well.
Least favorite MDZS character: it’s a tough choice between Su She, Wen Chao, and Jin ZiXun. I just... I disliked them so much. It’s not even hate, I just didn’t want to see them on screen. Maybe Wen Chao is the worst of them... yeah, he’s the worst. I could count Jiang Cheng in my least favorites as well, but my reasons for not liking him are way too complicated so I won’t insult him so much.
Favorite TGCF character: Hua Cheng!!!!!!!
Least favorite TGCF character: I don’t have a least favorite character.
3.
Favorite SVSSS male character aside from LBH and SQQ: MoBei-Jun and LiuQingGe. I’m not troubling myself with trying to choose between them.
Favorite SVSSS female character: I used to be torn between Sha HuaLing and Liu MingYan, but SHL follows my general preferences way more so she wins.
Favorite MDZS male character aside from WWX: Wen Ning. He deserves all the love in the world. All of it. Also I really love Nie MingJue and Xiao XingChen.
Favorite MDZS female character: Jiang Yanli (because I fell in love with her gentle personality while watching The Untamed and I can’t bear myself to stop loving her). Wen Qing is right up there with her.
Favorite TGCF male character aside from HC: well, first of all Xie Lian. Second of all, Bai WuXiang and He Xuan.
Favorite TGCF female character: Ling Wen, but only because I don’t count Shi QingXuan as a fully fledged female (I am too in love with both forms to choose one side, sorry guys).
4. (they’re all going to be the main ones, lol)
Favorite canon SVSSS ship: Shen QingQiu x Luo BingHe, though... MoBei-Jun x Shang QingHua is a really close second.
Least favorite canon SVSSS ship: I don’t think I have one? I mean, there’s not much material to examine when it comes to canon pairings.
Favorite canon MDZS ship: Wei WuXian x Lan Wangji.
Least favorite canon MDZS ship: it’s not really a ship (I think, maybe it’s just me?) but whatever they tried to do with Jiang Cheng and Wen Qing in the drama doesn’t sit right with me. For reasons that are a bit more complicated than it seems, and that would need me explaining my opinion about JC first.
Favorite canon TGCF ship: Hualian! Hualian! Hualian! Hua Cheng x Xie Lian is one of my all time favorite ships, in general. I stand by the statement “Hualian invented love”.
Least favorite canon TGCF ship: that weird bullshit the mortal realm like to do with Shi QingXuan and Shi Wudu. Poor guys. It’s canon only because their perverted followers say so.
5.
Favorite non-canon SVSSS ship: I don’t think I have one...? Maybe ZhuZhi-Lang and TianLang-Jun, but I’m still way too confused about that. I know people ship a lot Liu QingGe and Shen QingQiu, but I never saw the appeal of it.
Least favorite non-canon SVSSS ship: again, don’t have one, mostly because I never delved too deeply in the world of non-canon SVSSS ships.
Favorite non-canon MDZS ship: Xiao XingChen x Song Lan. It’s probably the pairing that makes the most sense (to me) out of everyone else. And it’s heartbreaking, so bonus points for that.
Least favorite non-canon MDZS ship: Xiao XingChen x Xue Yang. [heavy spoiler alert] I absolutely HATE this pairing. I love Xue Yang, he’s an amazing villain, but this pairing is straight up abuse, no matter how you look at it. I am a sucker for angsty shit, but I really draw the line at the fucked up pairing that is this one. Xue Yang literally destroyed Xiao XingChen psychologically, lied to him for years, gaslighted him, forced him to kill innocent people, forced him to kill Song Lan, and then ended up ruining him so much that Xiao XingChen killed himself and destroyed his own soul.
I have no idea why people love this pairing so much, but I genuinely hate it. There’s nothing redeeming about it.
Another ship I don’t like is Jiang Cheng x Lan XiChen, but once again this has more convoluted reasons that revolve around JC, mainly. There’s also Lan XiChen x Jin GuangYao. Please, no. I really don’t like it.
Favorite non-canon TGCF ship: Pei Ming x Shi Wudu and He Xuan x Shi QingXuan. We all know why beefleaf is important in our hearts, so let me explain something about Pei Ming and Shi Wudu; this pairing doesn’t mean I completely disregard everything else about Pei Ming. He’s our good old manwhore womanizer and I haven’t changed that (too much). But this pairing... in my headcanon, which is something I’m also going to write in my desperate attempt and being a good fanfic writer, Pei Ming fell in love with him so hard that he was like “okay, fine, there’s just you now, I’m done with sleeping around”. After Shi Wudu dies, Pei Ming keeps his word and doesn’t cheat on him for the reminder of his life. My own headcanon is the reason why this is my favorite non-canon ship. I stumbled into it my complete chance, but I genuinely love it.
Least favorite non-canon TGCF ship: anything that has Xie Lian and Hua Cheng not with each other. I don’t like seeing them paired with anyone else.
6.
Favorite SVSSS weapon/tool: Xin Mo and Xiu Ya.
Favorite MDZS weapon/tool: Chenqing
Favorite TGCF weapon/tool: E-Ming and Fang Xin
If you want to ask anything else, feel free! My blog is mostly Saint Seiya, but I do write about other stuff if you ask me! ^ - ^

So sometimes I check wikis to like look things up about a show or series that I don’t have time to read or watch the whole thing fully cuz that’s a time investment I just don’t have but I have questions I just want a quick answer to.
The problem is, wikis are of course, made by like regular people with varying levels of biases and also sometimes selective memory of events. As can be seen in my more recent posts with SVSSS and MXTX’s works I’ve been on those wikis, but sometimes the explanations of plot points and a bunch of other stuff are really confusing and circular. SVSSS’s is being more cleaned up recently, but it still has some things that it says happened, that I couldn’t find at all when reading the book and I’m just like, where did they find that info to put on the wiki?
Like one of my earlier posts when I started reading SVSSS at the beginning, I mentioned how I read that original Luo Binghe got killed by his harem eventually and I thought that made sense cuz ultimately no one in that original plotline made choices that made them genuinely happy. But when I read the book, I didn’t see any mention of that anywhere...? I think last time I went to go look at BC Novels they had one chapter left to translate. Is it in there?
Then at other times, I wonder if there’s an inconsistency because there’s a limitation between the translation I read and like something in the original Chinese text like there’s a typo, which obviously there’s a mistake then. But then other times, I’m wondering if people read a different thing, but most of the people with a different interpretation don’t seem to be able to read Chinese and are reading the same translation as me, but I’m confused where they got certain details from?
Like for instance, there’s another part on the wiki where it says Airplane originally planned for PIDW to be a BL from the beginning, but I’ve literally been trying to find where that was stated because I don’t remember that and I don’t see that anywhere and the chapter citation that is listed on the wiki goes to a chapter that doesn’t talk about that at all. Airplane/Qinghua does say that he made changes to Qingqiu’s character that were originally more complex to make him a trash human and he did that to make a living, but I can’t find where it says he originally wanted it to be a BL theme to begin with. In the chapter they cite it says that Qinghua had designed Binghe to have an appearance in a way that appealed more to a female audience and be more of a pretty boy. That doesn’t mean that he meant his entire book to be a BL it just means you make your main character look a certain way partly for internal logic because that look is really popular with women so the in-story women would probably find him attractive and in a meta sense any females who happen to also read a stallion novel like some women read shounen manga would find him hot in real life. A successful story does things like that to reach people outside of its target audience and that’s kind of a lot of the reason why a lot of Shounen Jump manga are really popular with women too even though a lot of the stories have the male perspective in mind. The chapter it cites only talks about the actual physical appearance design choice he made for Binghe vs Mobei-Jun. He just says that Mobei-Jun was made for the kind of male character he prefers to think about, but Binghe was just designed with the idea of what would make him more popular and also could kind of be like a self-insert-ish for his desire to beat on people for funsies. It doesn’t talk at all about what the genre he planned for the book to be and interpreting the text to that much is really stretching the context to wishful thinking levels. I don’t even actually care either way what kind of novel PIDW was because it’s not actually that important to enjoying the story of SVSSS, but I don’t know if it’s the Ravenclaw in me or what, but it just bugs me when there’s something that seems *wrong* printed on a thing that is supposed to inform other people. I’m literally reading chapters at the same time as trying to write this post to find where I think maybe it was said, but it sure as hell wasn’t the chapter the wiki cites.
The other day I re-read the chapter when Qinghua taunts SY with Qingqiu’s real memories, and he doesn’t even say it then. ATM, I’m trying to look through the last chapter because there’s that one part when Qinghua shows up right at the end and talks with SY at the celebration, but even at the start at the chapter, SY talks about how Qingqiu was super straight to him. SY is an unreliable narrator, but given the context of Qingqiu’s life events that makes sense. His personal trauma because of Qiu Jianluo also pushed him away from any amount of closeness he could have with other men other than ones he already trusted to some degree. He had a lot of problems forming new relationships of any kind with other men because of deep-seated trust issues. Not that he didn’t have any, but meaningful ones were pretty absent. One only because of a very sad misunderstanding and lack of communication and explanation, but the others just tough.
But like also there’s like that SJ slept in the Warm Red Pavilion and he went there just for comfort rather than more lascivious reasons. Yeah, it’s true that he didn’t go there for those intentions, but like it’s still in the environment so it’s not like he’s unaware of what happens there. I mentioned it in the previous post about his search for means to grow his cultivation, but only to say he’s probably not that innocent and there may be some truth to him wanting to do something to Ning Yingying out of desperation to make up for his low cultivation foundation. Like he’s aware of those kinds of things and he probably came across something that said that was a way he could grow his cultivation. Desperation and this motivation I think is probably the only reason why he would be so tempted to cross that line with Yingying because he otherwise treats women rather well. She is his favorite too, so if a person who usually treats females well for some reason wants to do something that would be hurtful to their favorite person, there has to be a much deeper motivation behind that. The only thing that is a canonically greater obsession I think would have to be his cultivation level. He has a number of self-esteem issues and such a well, but his greatest pride and greatest concern is his cultivation. He is proud of his abilities, but also he laments and regrets the version of him he couldn’t become so much I can foresee that if there was a suggestion that he could overcome his late start in some way by using someone female, I think he’d at least think about it and also consider who he knows could be a viable candidate should he want to act on it and that is how that part of PIDW happened. Pain and desperation make people do things that are uncharacteristic, so it has to be something that really bothers him more than in a moment of weakness that idea is there.
Which is another point I have an issue with on the wiki because it says his low cultivation is “logically” because he started late and spent so much time with a fake master. It’s not logically. It’s factually. It’s mentioned several times especially in the extras chapters from Shen Jiu’s point of view where he talks about how he is specifically behind because of wasting time with Qiu Jianluo and Wu Yanzi and also that he was the last to form a golden core. If it was coming out of SY or someone else’s mouth as an explanation, maybe you can say “logically”, but if it’s coming from SJ’s point of view chapter it sure as hell is not. That *IS* his motivation. He states it himself.
Also, I think some people don’t understand what it means to have a low cultivation foundation. Cultivation from what I gather according to the rules of this world is like a lot of talents we have in our world where you need to start young to be good at it. There’s a few skills that you can learn that if you don’t start at a specific time you lose the optimal window to develop your talent for it because of the way the brain functions and basically purges off skillsets you’re not using in your environment.
Learning a language is one such skill. When a baby is born, it has the capability to learn how to speak every language in the world, but as it gets older its brain purges out the sounds that it doesn’t hear from its environment and this keeps going into older childhood as well. The taxi driver I talked to the other day about this said you have to start before you’re 10, which sounds about right. The phoneme purging in your brain starts quite early though so that’s why my company has classes for Moms and their 1 or 2 year old so that they can speak to them in English to try to keep English sounds in their environment so that they can have perfect pronunciation when they grow up. If you try to learn a new language when you’re older that’s how you have accents. You don’t have the phonemes to speak the language perfectly so your brain is imitating the sounds with the ones you do have. Plus it’s a constant use skill. I used to be able to speak Cantonese with no accent up until my teens, but I haven’t spoken it in so long that slowly I started to have an accent and now I can’t say the words properly anymore. I don’t know that much Cantonese to begin with that aren’t baby words, but I used to be able to say them properly.
Music is another one and that one has an even more narrow window. Kids with parents hoping that they will be music prodigies usually start them on music VERY young like 3 or 4. It’s not that it’s impossible for someone to pick up an instrument later in life, but there’s a type of sense to music and hearing the scale and developing that skill that if you don’t start kids on it at that time, their musical ear will not be as good.
And it’s that “not as good” thing that Qingqiu is chasing. He is exceptionally powerful and talented which is why despite starting late he became favored. He is very capable and good at what he does, but he is not as good as what he could have been. Even though he is so good, he is only haunted by how much better he would have been if he had started on time and had proper instruction. A musician who maybe wants to be a concert violinist but took up the instrument late may struggle to get a good seat in an orchestra because despite any talent they have, their ear is not as developed as someone else. Such a musician would be vexed and lament that they hadn’t discovered their love for the instrument sooner just as Qingqiu is vexed and laments that he didn’t start proper cultivation development earlier.
And I’m griping about SVSSS more because I read that book so I have more points of reference to go on. But like the wikis for MDZS and TGCF aren’t much better. MDZS is maybe a little more coherent and easier to follow, but TGCF confused the hell out of me and it took me awhile to understand what was going on. I really needed it though cuz I was watching the donghua and like I think the way they present some of the scenes is like slightly out of order for like foreshadowing and other like film reasons, so I checked the wiki while watching to try to get more context cuz I don’t have much time right now to pick up another book at the moment. I was so confused though cuz like...it seems like the logic in the entries is so circular and I’m trying to keep track of all the characters and what’s happening. I hope it’s better now but at the time I was watching it I was so confused and struggling to make sense of what’s happening.
And like maybe you’re wondering why if I read the book, would I bother checking a wiki. Mostly out of laziness because I’m thinking of something and I don’t want to go find the exact chapter to help me flesh out my thought and reference point. I end up getting more frustrated sometimes depending on what I’m looking up because of the above things.
Plus again I’m like a bit mystified as to why Qingqiu’s look seems to appeal to me. It’s not just him though and like other characters with a similar style in some of the games I play. I think there’s some imprint from some very old childhood memory that I only vaguely remember. Like it’s a look that seems familiar, but I can’t put my finger on where it’s from and I can’t figure it out, so I keep just going to check images to see if it will make me remember. I think it’s a movie I saw with my Dad as a young child, but I can’t remember it at all. I remember there was one Jet Li movie I watched with my Dad once and I ended up watching all the time cuz I thought Jet Li was really cute in that movie (I was also 3 so I don’t know why I’m thinking that way, but whatever), but like Jet Li was bald in that movie because it was about a Shaolin Temple. I think at the time my Dad showed me that movie I already showed an interest in movies from my own heritage, so that’s why he showed me that. But like I can’t remember anything else. I suppose it could have been something my grandpa watched because sometimes he’d watch a Chinese movie when I was playing in the living room and I’d stop to watch too and then he’d fast-forward through the intimacy scenes, but because I’d just look over at something he was already watching I have no idea what any of those were.

Part Five of the Moshen Thing.
Shen Qingqiu waits to be announced before he enters Mobei-Jun’s quarters. He doesn’t want to disturb him for, if he’s honest with himself, is only personal gossip. He’s just really curious about what happened with Shang Qinghua? And if nothing happened Mobei-Jun might be depressed, and it’s not like Mobei-Jun is going to talk about his feelings on the matter to his entourage. It’s going to take all he has to get a few words from him if it went wrong, but he feels up to the challenge!
Turns out he won’t have to. He can tell from the relaxed way Mobei-Jun is standing and the faintest trace of a smile on his face that something very good happened since the last time he saw it. “How was Shang Qinghua?”
White teeth flash when he answers. “Fine.”
His fan, plum blossoms covered in snow, hides his own smile. “I see.” Hopefully they’ll be able to make it work. Shen Qingqiu has no trust in Shang Qinghua’s capacity to be a decent partner to anyone, but Mobei-Jun obviously disagrees. Shen Qingqiu wants to be the one in the wrong this time. “I wish you the best.” Since that’s how it is, he’s going to get all the dirty details from Airplane. That’s going to be way easier than trying to extract them from Mobei-Jun. “I’m sure you have better things to do than waste your time on me.” Like courting your new flame.
Mobei-Jun stops him from leaving by grabbing his arm. “Don’t go.”
He must have questions. Maybe he’s nervous now that he has to handle an actual relationship with a human? “Do you need something from me?” He keeps his tone calm and open. He doesn’t especially want to become their relationship therapist, but one does what one cans.
Mobei-Jun doesn’t let him go. “Thank you.”
Shen Qingqiu is flushed with pride. Look at this cold demon lord learning how to act like a person! Shang Qinghua better be grateful Shen Qingqiu warmed him up for him!
Emotionally! He meant emotionally! “I don’t need thanks. Just be happy.” He gestures at his arm, still caught in Mobei-Jun’s hold. “Though you might want to stop being touching me this freely.”
Mobei-Jun frowns. “Why?”
Shen Qingqiu waves his fan in amusement. “Shang Qinghua might get jealous.” That might have been fun. Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky deserves all the bullying he gets for having written this world. He shouldn’t have said anything.
“Why would he?”
Is that a hard concept to grasp? “It’s not really proper to flaunt your previous attachment when you have a new lover.”
“Previous.”
Shen Qingqiu starts to feel uneasy. “You did confess to Shang Qinghua, didn’t you? Or the reverse, it doesn’t really matter.”
This seems to make sense to Mobei-Jun. “Yes.”
“Then, he would expect fidelity.”
He can see the confusion on Mobei-Jun’s face. Shit. “Fidelity.”
“Most people only have one partner. They expect that partner to be loyal to them.”
“I’m a king. I might choose many spouses.”
Fuck. This is what you brought on yourself by writing a stallion novel, Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky! Your own love interest is planning on gathering a harem! “And you told him that?”
But he knows what he’ll hear before he does. “He must know.”
He might not. Mobei-Jun didn’t have any canonical love interest. “You need to tell him about it. As soon as possible.”
“Junshang doesn’t mind.”
Shen Qingqiu is not getting in, shit! Luo Binghe isn’t an example for anyone to follow! And Luo Binghe himself isn’t out there actively adding flowers to his harem without Shen Qingqiu’s input, which he would definitely need or they would be having Words. “He doesn’t matter. Shang Qinghua does. Talk to him.”
Mobei-Jun stays mute for a while. Shen Qingqiu waits in very awkward silence.
What he says when he finally decides to speak doesn’t help. “You wouldn’t mind?”
Shen Qingqiu chokes. He doesn’t want to be involved in this mess, thank you! “I thought this would end that once you had Shang Qinghua.” When he finally allowed himself to really think about it, it became obvious. Shen Qingqiu already has… a reputation in the demon realm for his unparalleled hold on the strongest member of their kind. The last thing he needs is to become known as a home-wrecker, thank you. As tentative as the relationship between Shang Qinghua and himself can be, he’s not going to ruin his chance at happiness for one of Binghe’s kinky wishes. “You won’t even miss me. Shang Qinghua is too much of a handful.”
Mobei-Jun seems doubtful
In other circumstances, Shen Qingqiu would be flattered. “Talk to him.” How did he even became the resident therapist, he will never know. Of all the anachronisms Airplane included, why not this one? A good therapist might just have saved Luo Binghe from himself.
Sadly, it would also have made for a pretty boring book. Shen Qingqiu can already hear the pleas of needing money and pleasing the audience.
Mobei-Jun frowns but nods.
Shen Qingqiu escapes from this hell he made for himself as fast as he can.
____________
And then nothing happens.
For weeks.
He means, lots of things happens, but not on the ice demon/fellow transmigrator front.
It is possible Shen Qingqiu hears nothing because they’re both not staying at Binghe’s palace and Shen Qingqiu himself has spent some time at the sect, but still. A letter would have been nice. ‘Hello, we’re doing fine, thank you for being our marital counsellor’, something of the sort. Or even ‘Never put your hand on my husband again, you trollop!’ He just wants to know!
“Shizun can stop fretting. Mobei-Jun will look over the castle while I’m visiting the Southern provinces. He can ask him himself.”
Shen Qingqiu shouldn’t be surprised Luo Binghe noticed his agitation. Very few things relating to him escape his husband’s attention.
Still, Shen Qingqiu knows why his disciple really requested Mobei-Jun's presence. Should he take it as a sign something went wrong? Or very right? “Mobei-Jun didn’t object?”
Luo Binghe snorts. “Why would he. He’s probably eager to put his hands on Shizun again.”
But Shang Qinghua! “Considering his actual status, I very much doubt it.”
“All this time, and yet my husband is still blind to his own charms. This disciple is very lucky. That way, Shizun won’t think of looking for someone else.”
Shen Qingqiu is torn between being flattered and sighing. Binghe, why are you still bringing that up? This master has no intention of leaving you.
That’s a subject he really doesn’t feel like revisiting again. Oh well, if Mobei-Jun is coming, he’ll surely bring Shang Qinghua along. Shen Qingqiu will get to the bottom of this himself.
____________
“Seriously, bro, what are you worrying about? Everything is fine.”
“Is it? Is it!? Your love interest has every intention of sleeping around with anyone he takes a fancy to and everything is fine!? Even you must have higher standards.” Shang Qinghua had very conspicuously arrived at Mobei-Jun’s side, looking less stressed than Shen Qingqiu had ever seen him, if no less hyper. Shen Qingqiu had detected the change in seconds. He knows when someone is getting laid right, okay? He’s intimately familiar with what that’s like, courtesy of basically being the heroine.
All he’d felt at the sight had been happiness for his compatriot and the other demon in his life. He had had no plans to disturb their bliss! So why are they having this conversation right now? Shouldn’t Shang Qinghua work on keeping his lover in check instead of trying to pimp him out?
“You’re exaggerating. It’s only you. He was already sleeping with you before he was doing me anyway. If anything, I’m the interloper.”
How is this his life? “I’m not romantically involved with Mobei-Jun, so of course I’m the one in the way.”
Shang Qinghua stays silent.
…What the fuck is that silence supposed to mean!? “Did you forget I’m married to the protagonist? I don’t need anyone else! I really wish people would remember that!”
“That’s something you don’t have worry about. Everyone knows you’re married to Luo Binghe. He’s not subtle about it. That’s not the point. The point is I knew, well no I didn’t know what I was getting in when I included harems in my story, but I did it anyway, the point is I expected this outcome okay? Luo Binghe being loyal to you is close to a miracle, not the rule. Getting Mobei-Jun is already more than I could ever have dreamed for. He’s not gonna go against the grain for me, and that’s fine. And if he’s gonna have someone else, who better than you? You’re not gonna marry him, and you’re not gonna ask him to leave me, so I don’t have anything to complain about.”
“…Are you fucking serious right now?”
Shang Qinghua pats his fucking shoulders like he’s a lady having the vapours. “Calm down. Keep breathing. It’s going to make sense if you think about it.”
“You allowing your lover to sleep around because you think you’re not good enough for him not to is never going to make sense.”
Shang Qinghua flinches like he just hit him. Good. Maybe he’ll understand how completely stupid he’s being. “Bro, that was way harsh. What did I ever do to you to deserve that?”
Shen Qingqiu just stares him down until he squeals. Please, Shang Qinghua knows exactly what he did, mainly everything around them.
“Not everyone has like, crazy powers of seduction that can make anyone fall for them, okay? Some of us have to content themselves with what they can have.”
Shen Qingqiu chokes. He does not have crazy powers of seduction, what the hell!
Not the point. “Did you tell Mobei-Jun that?”
Shang Qinghua’s eyes bug out. “So that I can look even more pathetic than I already do? No way, bro, no way. He told me he was eventually going to marry other people, I said I knew that, he kissed me, and then I-“
“Shut up! I don’t need to know about that!” He already knows more than enough about Mobei-Jun in bed! He really doesn’t need to know about Shang Qinghua! “Shouldn’t you have elaborated more?”
“And say what? Sorry, you’re not allowed to have an heir, you’re gonna have to let your bloodline disappear?”
“Are you seriously telling me you didn’t include mpreg in this mess? Or like, can’t he pick one of his nephews or something?”
“Excuse me, which part of stallion novel screams mpreg to you! Of course I didn’t include that! Not that I would be surprised if you fucking everything up caused a way for it to happen to exist! And yes, he could pick a member of his family as his heir, but then I would be stopping him from having children and that’s not cool. Tiny little Mobei-Juns running around with serious faces! Even your frozen heart must want to see that!”
…That would be heart-stoppingly cute.
So would all the tiny Binghes that were supposed to exist and that Shen Qingqiu ruthlessly culled by stealing their father for himself.
“…Bro, don’t be like that, that’s not what I meant, don’t be sad! They’ll kill me if you’re sad!”
Shen Qingqiu gets a grip on himself. Now’s not the time. “I’m not sad.”
“…Sure bro, you’re not.”
“You’re the one that has reasons to be sad.”
“Not really. I really am okay with it.”
Well, Shen Qingqiu isn’t.
Something is going to have to be done.

SV’s Quick Transmigration System
I love system fics and i love clowning shen jiu but i don’t have time to write.
Shen Jiu’s life was one misery after another.
[Don’t be like that, Host! This is a blessing! You can change your fate!]
Even though Shen Jiu didn’t remember what happened in his life before he entered this Xinghai space, he was absolutely, positively, certain that his life was one misery after another, one calamity following the previous, a neverending shitshow of Bad.
Why else would he be here, after all?
[The sealing of your memories was part of the price that you had agreed to pay in order for the chance to change your fate. The other part is to go through four different worlds and complete the tasks pertaining to each world’s Target given to you, by me, in order to cultivate the Good Karma Points needed to return to your world! I am System Airplane, ready at your service.]
Right… and what if Shen Jiu decided to not cooperate?
[Ahh!! That’s not good, Host! If you don’t cooperate, you’ll be stuck in the Xinghai space forever!]
A tasteless outcome, even more so than the idea of having to do tasks for others.
[You agreed to this…] System Airplane seemed like it was sulking.
“The me of the past may have agreed to this, but I currently do not,” Shen Jiu said petulantly.
[Why are you so difficult!] System Airplane whined. [You’re already stuck here! You can’t get out without completing the worlds! What else can you do?]
What else could Shen Jiu do indeed?
-o-
The man in front of him looked almost breathtakingly familiar, despite the fact that Shen Jiu didn’t have his memories.
It was probably memories that came with the body, like a cheap bargain sale. Buy this and get an additional something else.
It had been around two days since he had arrived in this particular world but System Airplane still had not given Shen Jiu any tasks. Instead, he had tried telling Shen Jiu about the world in general, and who Shen Jiu was supposed to be. Shen Jiu tuned him out, not understanding why he needed to know anything in order to complete his tasks.
Yes, Shen Jiu agreed to the world hopping, but that didn’t mean he was going to be nice about it.
“Xiao Jiu…” the man in front of him said. The name did not sit well with Shen Jiu, and so of course he voiced out his opinions.
“Call me that name again and I will break your fingers.”
[HOST!!! That’s the Target of this world! Why are you being so mean to him!]
Why should Shen Jiu be nice to a man he didn’t know? Speaking of which,
“And who are you again?”
The man looked stricken and then, almost immediately after, guilty.
“I’m sorry, Xiao Jiu,” he said. “I--”
“At least have the courtesy of calling me by my name,” Shen Jiu said. Shen Jiu had forgotten the name he was supposed to assume in this world and was too proud to ask System Airplane about it. This was a good time as any to figure out what that name was.
“...Qiu Qingjiu,” the man said. Wow! What a shitty name.
“Oh second thought just call me A-Jiu,” Shen Jiu said. The man’s entire face seemed to light up with a fragile hope. Shen Jiu’s next words ground that hope into dust.
“Seriously, who the hell are you?”
-o-
The man never told Shen Jiu who he was.
[Host, he is Yue Qingyuan, used to be known as Yue Qi or Qi’ge, and he is your childhood friend! You were in the same orphanage together! When he left the orphanage, he made a promise to come back for you but you waited for five years to no avail! Little did you know, he had gotten into a serious accident and was in a coma and then rehabilitation for those five years and when he came back for you, you weren’t there at all! Then the both of you were -- are currently being actually -- reunited in University! I told you this!]
It must have slipped Shen Jiu’s mind.
[You weren’t listening at all, weren’t you!? It was such a masterfully crafted tale too, perfectly setting up the tumultuous relationship of misunderstanding between the both of you!]
Shen Jiu didn’t care. He just wanted to know what the task was.
System Airplane grumbled about Shen Jiu not being able to appreciate good literature, which was untrue. Shen Jiu was completely able to understand good literature, but not this dogblood shit sort of story. After all, he has been--
What had he been?
Before he could dwell any more on his confusion, System Airplane gave him his task.
--
Task: Join the Literature Faculty Club.
Reward: 5 Good Karma Points
Do you accept?
Yes / Yes
--
Shen Jiu wondered just what his answer would be.
Why was the system giving options if the options were the same?!
[Illusion of choice.]
Fuck you.
-o-
Yue Qingyuan was in the Literature Faculty Club because of course he was. Why had Shen Jiu ever entertained the thought of otherwise?
-o-
When the club meeting ended, Shen Jiu was the first to leave the room.
“Xi-- A-Jiu, wait!”
Shen Jiu didn’t wait. Shen Jiu was gone.
the idea is that shen jiu has to go into 4 different worlds to complete tasks pertaining to a “target”
1st world: yue qingyuan (modern day, rich heir) 2nd world: liu qingge (those space opera things with giant alien insects called zergs) 3rd world: luo binghe (zombie apocalypse)  4th world: mu qingfang (relaxing fantasy world shen jiu is really grateful for)
he has to do nice things for them like help them and save their life. but he gets to be prickly throughout it all which leads to funny ideas like he’s a tsundere and stuff.
i.e. 2nd world
sj: i’ll kill you, you asshole. mark my words the first chance you get i’ll absolutely obliterate you  sj: (helps lqg, risks his own life to save lqg, always covering up for lqg’s impulsiveness)  sj: i hate you and you’re dead to me  lqg: h
so later on the “5th” world is the scum villain world where he regains his memory and gets to change his fate of death
but wait!
the other 4 people gain memories of their individual world too!
chaos
as you can tell, the system is airplane bro (lol) and it’s sort of after-canon for the original scum villain story. sometimes system airplane has to do something and so system cucumber has to come and help. one time, there’s system mobei. system mobei is shen jiu’s favorite. he allows shen jiu to kill things.
other things:
after sqq returns back to his world: sqq: system i understand why lbh, yqy, and lqg are targets... but why mqf?  system: by popular request
mu qingfang’s world is the most peaceful world sj has ever had.
friend: sqq behaves as an actual tsundere once by accident bc he found himself reluctantly kind of fond of this peaceful life with this not a complete and total dumbass. for witnessing this mistake he came to actually hate mqf
me: hes so sad he has to die........ but alas the moment he said "its not like i did this for you or anything!!!" with a blush and caught himself, he realized that He Had To Die Right This Instant
Sqq: well around that person i feel like i want to see them happy, i feel troubled when theyre sad, i want to protect them, i want to help them, and i want to spend time with them Mqf: oh... do you want to kiis them? Sqq: (thinks) Sqq: nah Sqq: so what disease have i contracted Mqf: you just want to be their friend? Sqq: Sqq: i see.
(Next day) Sqq found dead in a ditch
can’t contract feelings if you’re dead!

I had 27 Dresses playing in the background today, so continuing in the same vein as that The Devil Wears Prada AU, I was thinking about SVSSS takes on this. I can’t really see this AU for Moshang, since I can’t see Shang “Doesn’t Believe in Love” Qinghua or Mobei-Jun in the role of the female lead who loves weddings. Bingqiu would be an easier couple for this.
But, moving past that specific (Modern) Wedding AU, I was reminded of my personal fondness for (Modern) Wedding Planner AUs. I can absolutely see all of these characters in a more generic (Modern) Wedding AU, and I can easily see the jaded Shang Qinghua and a jaded or idealistic Luo Binghe working in the wedding industry.
Shang Qinghua as a wedding planner is always funny to think about. My brain immediately snapped to Moshang having an extended working relationship within the wedding industry -> like make Mobei-Jun a very large and scary-looking baker and slap some frost/frosting pun on the bakery sign as its name or something like that.
Shang Qinghua: “Bro, I swear that this bakery is a front for organized crime. They have this guy working there who has to be a hitman! Every time I come in! One time, he wasn’t there and within five minutes he showed up to take over the meeting! I have to be cursed. I think they think that I’m working for law enforcement or something. I’m going to get killed.”
Shen Yuan: “Why do you keep going back?”
Shang Qinghua: “The guy there made me promise never to work with anyone else. I think. It was vaguely worded. Anyway! The cakes are super good.”
But currently I’m thinking about Luo Binghe as a wedding planner. This man has “600+ brides” under his belt (who, rumor has it, always end up wishing they were marrying their wedding planner). From there, I’m thinking that Shen Jiu is the one getting married and Shen Yuan is his brother.
1) Shen Yuan is helping with the wedding planning, going to all the cake tasting meetings and etc., because Shen Jiu is a workaholic who will undoubtedly drive off anyone they try to hire. Luo Binghe assumes that SY is “Shen Qingqiu” and the one getting married because Romcom Misunderstandings. Maybe whoever SJ is marrying is also frequently absent, leaving the meetings just LBH and SY. If this is an idealistic LBH, he feels horrible falling in love with a man getting married. If this is a jaded LBH, he feels disappointed when SY is the latest “bride” to fall in love with him, only to realize at the wedding itself that SY isn’t the one getting married.
2) Shen Yuan is an innocent bystander in a “war” between his brother and his brother’s wedding planner - it is “hate at first sight” for SJ and LBH. (Or maybe LBH used to work for SJ in a different industry?) At least once, the phrase, “I can’t let him win,” is uttered by both sides of this conflict. Shen Yuan is extremely confused as to what “winning” entails or why this is happening.
I need to make a Romcom AU tag maybe.

Hey!! I just wanted to say your writing is really really REALLY amazing and I'm just super thankful for all the time you've dedicated to writing. Also! Do you have any tips on writing smut? And any other writing tips in general?
thank you for the appreciation! my oneshot writing process usually involves writing for 7 hours in a single day to really write out a oneshot (on a weekend of course), and on weekdays I spend 30 min - 1 hour a day writing down rough scenes or new ideas.
as for smut tips oh boy…uh, really before scum villain more than half the time i did fade-to-black instead of smut scenes and i think i still do it or i use a few sentences sometimes instead of detailing an act? depends on what is meant by smut.
I use metaphor/similes and implications alot of the time as opposed to detailed mechanics. It can be impactful that way if it suits the character and the context they are put in. It should work to reveal how the characters feel and react, what are they doing and how that relates to their personalities and relationship, and also things like noises, sensations, and fluids help make it vivid.
As for general writing tips, idk, put yourself in the mood before you write? Feeling fresh, well-rested and full means you can concentrate better. That’s what it takes for me to go on seven hour long writing sessions on a weekend day.
Smut examples under the cut, NSFW and SPOILERS for What’s My Name? and Sanctuary, I bold similes/metaphors and comparisons.
1) What’s My Name?  - In this sex scene, because of the plot, LBH is making love to SQQ very slowly, to SQQ’s frustration, and that contrasts with how LBH is usually like. it’s also humorous because SQQ is the pov, he uses modern references, and puns on LBH’s name. “cruelly teased by the big tool slowly rubbing inside” is straight up sex.
However, the actual movements happened. Luo Binghe’s performance was like experiencing a video at 0.25x speed, while previously knowing it at 3x speed. Shen Qingqiu was being cruelly teased by the big tool slowly rubbing inside of him. People don’t ride a Ferrari to go 20 miles per hour! Shen Qingqiu wanted more and faster. He didn’t think he’d ever think of saying such a thing to Luo Binghe in bed, but here he was. Forget about losing his mind from being fucked too hard, he was going to lose it because of this glacial pace.
Sanctuary - after a bad first time, MBJ visits SQH another night to have better sex. when i write MBJ/SQH, it involves alot of temperature play.
Mobei Jun began to strip him. His hands slow and surprisingly patient, leaving faint points of cold. He didn’t get to do this last time. The warm candlelight reflected off the golden necklace on an otherwise naked Mobei Jun.
There’s a bunch of yet unlit candles and Mobei Jun took them, placed them on Shang Qinghua’s body one by one, strategically. Shang Qinghua stayed still, quiet, doesn’t question a thing. The artifact even came off, and was left on the desk.
Mobei Jun wordlessly lit the candles.
Last time they had sex, it had been short and painful, this was the opposite.
The candles melted on Shang Qinghua, keeping him warm during the activities as he was touched all over, and what had been previously done to the middle of his front and his back was now felt everywhere.
Mobei Jun tried things and became bolder, more knowledgeable. Sex that people would space out over weeks, he does it all now.
The poses changed, and the candles rearranged themselves mysteriously. The candles didn’t seem to hurt Mobei Jun and when he sometimes pressed against them, they didn’t go out. The candles never hurt or burned Shang Qinghua, and only kept heat present. There was also the warmth from his own blushing cheeks and flushed body.
With the melted wax, the sheets were going to be ruined no matter what, by it and other things, sticky stuff that wasn’t wax. Shang Qinghua didn’t know how much times he had came because he had lost track after his third orgasm. Sometimes Mobei Jun shuddered against him. The once quiet night was no longer quiet.
The burning candles reminded Shang Qinghua of an altar, and he had to be the object of sacrifice. (It had to be sacrifice, right? Otherwise it would be object of worship, and Shang Qinghua decided his eyes were confused by the candlelight and shadows because Mobei Jun looked even more cat-eyed than usual, in this half-light, half-night.)
Once standing candles reduced to puddles of wax are a testament to the passage of time, proof of how long Mobei Jun had been making love to him. Mobei Jun was not injured or tired, he was definitely healthy and vigorous.
This means alot of sex happened between MBJ and SQH but I never wrote ~MBJ’s dick went into SQH’s butt and he thrust in and out of him~ or any dialogue, but it can be understood they had a good time.

A concept I have jotted down for a potential different pre-canon Moshang fic is one in which Airplane transmigrates into a “Freeform” version of Proud Immortal Demon Way, in which he has no System limits on meddling.
This was inspired by several paragraphs in Chapter 2 of “pride is not the word I’m looking for”, in which Shang Qinghua thinks over how the System refused to let him meddle in Tianlang-Jun and Su Xiyan’s romance, due to the potential risk of causing a canon divergence that might prevent the existence of the protagonist.
So, the background for this fic is that Airplane tried to follow the route of the canonical Shang Qinghua, but ultimately gave up on becoming the Peak Lord of An Ding because it was “too much work”. Only, he ended up stumbling into Tianlang-Jun and Su Xiyan’s romance instead, and somehow ended up saving their asses from their canonical fates and helping them thwart all their enemies. Airplane ended up leaving Cang Qiong Mountain Sect and working for Demon Emperor Tianlang-Jun (and new Demon Empress Su Xiyan) instead, an honored servant and honorary family member.
Against his original intentions of running away to live a simple life, Airplane is now essentially the third-highest ranking person in the Demon Realm. (Tianlang-Jun is first, Su Xiyan is second, Binghe is still a baby, and Zhuzhi-Lang would be third except the family all agrees that Airplane is “better” at paperwork and logistics.) Cang Qiong Mountain Sect is still confused by and slightly bitter about this development. Airplane isn’t totally sure how this happened either, but it’s not so bad to essentially be part of the imperial family and be able to boss lots of powerful demons around.
The problem is that the imperial family is now dealing with some sort of political issue that involves the northern kingdoms of the Demon Realm, and the son of the current Northern King has come to court. And Airplane hasn’t seen Mobei-Jun since he was an outer disciple of An Ding Peak and a) didn’t kill Mobei-Jun when he had the opportunity, b) dragged an unconscious Mobei-Jun to a safe location, and c) left without telling Mobei-Jun his name or what he wanted in exchange for sparing Mobei-Jun’s life.
Mobei-Jun is very surprised to find out that one of the Demon Emperor’s pet humans, his “most trusted advisor” and “the minister of all imperial affairs”, is the mysterious human boy who saved his life several years ago.
Because, tbh, I would love to see a Moshang fic in which a) Shang Qinghua is someone else’s servant, b) Shang Qinghua’s other master could kick Mobei-Jun’s ass, and c) Shang Qinghua outranks Mobei-Jun. Any of those concepts is good, imo, but I want to combine all of them. Concept: spoiled demon prince MBJ falls head over heels for the Demon Emperor’s right-hand man SQH, who is completely untouchable and utterly oblivious.
Tianlang-Jun: *slaps MBJ on the shoulder* “I’ll be honest with you, I could help and put you out of your misery! I could offer a pitiful young man like you some advice here, it’s true, or have you married to my advisor with a snap of my fingers! But... look, this is just really fucking funny. Nephew! What’s that phrase my dear advisor likes to say sometimes?”
Zhuzhi-Lang: “Would that be ‘sucks to be you, bro’, Junshang?”
Tianlang-Jun: “That’s the one!” *slaps MBJ on the shoulder again* “Sucks to be you, bro! Also, we’ll be watching, so don’t fuck up. I like him.”

It’s part two of the MoShen thing, now with actual, somewhat porny MoShen!
Shen Qingqiu stares at Mobei-Jun, who looks just as unfazed as usual, and despairs. What is he supposed to do!? Is he supposed to make the first move? How should he approach this?
He should probably start by making sure Binghe didn't coerce him. Even if the idea of someone forcing Mobei-Jun to do anything is ridiculous, if anyone could, it would be Binghe, great demon king that he is. "Whatever Binghe told you, you don't have to do this if you don't want to. I wouldn't say a word either way."
Mobei-Jun stares at him impassively. "I want to."
Shen Qingqiu freezes. He… wants to?
Why? Is Shen Qingqiu demon catnip? Mobei-Jun isn't quite Luo Binghe levels of gorgeous, but he could easily snag a wife or ten.
Mobei-Jun doesn't have to be aware of his incomprehension. "I see." It's… nice to be wanted, he guesses.
A cool hand finds its way to his cheek. Since Shen Qingqiu has seen an impertinent rival take back the hand he'd put on Mobei-Jun's arm with a hiss, he's thinking this is a deliberate effort, for which he's grateful. "Are you not willing?"
Right. This is happening. Mobei-Jun is worrying about his consent. "I agreed to it."
Mobei-Jun follows his hand's path, growing closer and closer. "Then, let me."
Shen Qingqiu tries to kill the butterflies multiplying in his stomach, but still, his voice won't come. He can only nod in answer.
He gets chill lips against his in response, and for a moment the sheer dissociation takes him over. He's really kissing someone who isn't Binghe.
Shen Qingqiu honestly never thought this would happen. He had made a commitment and had every intention of respecting it. But, well, he still is, right? He's doing this with Binghe's blessing.
There's a tongue now obviously begging to be let in. Shen Qingqiu opens up by reflex, only because this is what he does when Binghe acts like this. He doesn't have to think about it.
But this isn't Binghe! Just because they sort of feel similar, both of them being demon kings and all, doesn't mean Shen Qingqiu should react the same way to them!
He can't deny he is though. It just feels natural to answer to demonic qi meddling with his. Even if Mobei-Jun himself is nothing like Binghe regarding either looks or personality.
Mobei-Jun's kisses aren't anything like Binghe's. He kisses almost tentatively, like he's afraid Shen Qingqiu will break if he pushes too much. Nothing like his husband's devouring passion or his boundless tenderness when Shen Qingqiu is concerned. Surely part of it is the novelty of the experience. Maybe when they become familiar with each other this will change.
If. If they become familiar with each other.
The point is, Shen Qingqiu isn't a fragile flower, and Mobei-Jun isn't wooing him. Since they're doing this, and he still can't believe he is, he would prefer to get it over with. But how to say so without losing face?
Maybe if he… insists a little bit, Mobei-Jun will get it?
Shen Qingqiu tries to deepen the kiss, and with great daring he puts one of his hands on Mobei-Jun's neck, making sure not to flinch at the feel of the cool skin.
And why do demons have such fair skin anyway? It's weird! They should have scales or hair or something, not flawless planes of white jade!
But Mobei-Jun does not get the message. He's still disarmingly gentle, as if scared he'll spook Shen Qingqiu off. Also, Mobei-Jun's hand still hasn't moved from his cheek.
Shen Qingqiu is starting to get annoyed. "Didn't this master give you his consent? I am not skittish. You can go ahead." Before he does lose his courage and scamper off.
Mobei-Jun frowns. "You're human."
"...Yes?"
"You're fragile."
Not compared to 99% of the human population, but for a demon Lord, maybe he appears as spun glass.  "Not this fragile."
"I don't understand."
It's Shen Qingqiu's time to be confused. "What is it you don't understand?"
"I was told I handled humans too roughly."
Since the only human he handles regularly is Shang Qinghua, that's not exactly a lie. “As long you don’t go out of your way to try and hurt me, I’ll be fine.” He can take Binghe without pain now; he can take Mobei-Jun.
The frown doesn’t lift. “Not hurting you isn’t good enough.”
“…Surely you know how this works?” He can’t be a virgin, can he? Binghe wouldn’t let him in the hands of a novice.
“Yes. It’s just that humans are different.”
Are they? Shen Qingqiu only has Luo Binghe as a reference point, and he grew up surrounded by humans. And how exactly did he end up teaching sex ed to grown ass adults? “How?”
“You bruise and bleed at the slightest touch.”
“Luo Binghe never left a mark on me that wasn’t deliberate and consensual. I’m sure you can do the same.”
But Mobei-Jun hesitates, obviously still wary of hurting Shen Qingqiu. At least that’s much better than being thrown on the bed and ravaged without consideration.
It is!
Anyway, he's gonna have to do something or they'll be there all day. He can’t imagine what Binghe would do if they never went farther than heavy petting. He’d probably consider it a personal offense. Was his own husband not attractive enough for Mobei-Jun? Or he would just be unable to accept it. The way Luo Binghe seems to think Shen Qingqiu was a constant temptation for everyone instead of himself being the outlier could be charming, but most of the time it just left Shen Qingqiu confused, not to mention it got him into this mess. He’s not bad looking, but hasn’t Binghe seen himself? Has he never spotted the lustful gazes his underlings favour him with, or the jealousy and hatred Shen Qingqiu is exposed to the moment he leaves his quarters in the palace without Luo Binghe by his side to terrify them into complacency? Shen Qingqiu should be the one worrying!
If his husband was anyone else but Binghe. Shen Qingqiu knows the idea of his disciple straying is ridiculous to the extreme.
Since said disciple is more than fine with him straying as long as he can choose who it is with, and that will never not be strange, he should get to it. If Mobei-Jun is fine with kissing him gently for hours, he’ll have to be the one to push. He steadies himself before starting to remove Mobei-Jun’s outer robe.
Mobei-Jun doesn’t struggle. He lets Shen Qingqiu undress him with a sort of fascinated passivity that Shen Qingqiu himself tries to handle with grace, unsure of how successful he is, until he has a different naked demon king in his bed and he’s trying not to die of embarrassment. He should remove his own clothes, shouldn’t he? And not stare. And not feel like he’s a frog readying itself for dissection.
And just stop stalling. With hands he does everything he can to stop from shaking, he goes for his robes, only to find his hands trapped in Mobei-Jun’s. He distantly remarks they’re also much bigger than his own, though Luo Binghe still dwarfs him.
“Let me.”
Shen Qingqiu shrugs helplessly. “Feel free.”
He shouldn’t be surprised Mobei-Jun feels none of the shame Shen Qingqiu fights at every instant. He feels himself blush under the too attentive stare. He’s probably being found lacking. Against the flawless bodies that populate their courts, Shen Qingqiu must not be much to look at. He’s going to die if he has to tell Luo Binghe nothing happened because Mobei-Jun couldn’t get it up for him.
“You’re quite similar to most high-ranking demons.”
“Were you expecting something else?” Who could tell what rumours demons tell about humans? Maybe Mobei-Jun had weird expectations or something?
“Not especially, but I don’t know much about humans. I’m curious.”
“Why? You must already know all you need to handle the few humans you meet.” Mobei-Jun almost never goes to the human realm without an express order from Luo Binghe. He has his own domain to rule over, and duties keeping him busy here. Shang Qinghua tells him all he should be aware of.
A flash, there and gone on Mobei-Jun’s usually expressionless face. “I don’t know anything about them like this.”
This being… during sex?! Mobei-Jun wants to fuck a human!?
It does not take a genius to figure who, exactly, Mobei-Jun wants. The candidate pool is pretty thin. Binghe, did you know? Did you pimp me out to Mobei-Jun so that he wouldn’t be clueless when he took your creator to bed? Where in Shen Qingqiu’s job description did sex education came in? Just because it turned out that way for you didn’t mean I wanted to make a career out of it!
At least he understands why Mobei-Jun agreed now. This is something he probably can’t learn from his usual conquests. Hell, as the only male human married to a male demon, he’s the best person for this.
Shen Qingqiu might as well help. Just because he often wishes Shang Qinghua would die in a fire doesn’t mean he wants his first time with Mobei-Jun to be as painful as theirs was.
He’ll owe him so much. “I see. Well, as far as I can tell there aren’t many physical differences between us.”
Mobei-Jun’s slightly cool hands decide to rest on his hips to pull him toward him for a kiss that’s a bit more devastating now that Shen Qingqiu can feel all of Mobei-Jun against him. The change in temperature makes him shiver.
It’s only that making him shiver. Nothing more.
Maybe Mobei-Jun took Shen Qingqiu’s removal of their clothes as approval, because if he is still gentle to the point of tenderness, he allows his hands to acquaint themselves with Shen Qingqiu’s body in slow, lingering movements, as if studying every inch of his skin.
He tries not to react, but when Mobei-Jun stops kissing him to bite, hard, on his neck, the noise he lets out is not a moan of pleasure but a cry of pain.
Mobei-Jun pushes back, obviously startled.
Blood drips down. Shen Qingqiu breathes deeply and focuses his cultivation on what is still mostly a superficial wound. He can deal. He was just startled.
So this is why Mobei-Jun needs help. Those demons really do enjoy pain. “That was too much for most humans. It hurt. Light biting is fine, but if you’re drawing blood you’re probably going in too strong.” That’s not his thing, and from everything he knows of Shang Qinghua, it’s not his either.
Mobei-Jun looks as contrite as he can look. Shen Qingqiu might find himself melt a little. Can’t stay mad at those demon lords, damn it.
He sighs. “Here.” He pulls Mobei-Jun down toward him and presses his own teeth on his skin, just strong enough to leave a faint mark. He’s pretty sure he could go harder without problems, but the point is to show how an average human might enjoy it.
Mobei-Jun presses his fingers to the bite on his neck, looking at him with a slightly unfocused gaze, and Shen Qingqiu wonders if he was a bit too forward, before he’s dragged right into Mobei-Jun’s lap, and hello Mobei-Jun’s ridiculously large erection, fancy seeing you there. Honestly, Shen Qingqiu hadn’t expected anything less. He’d only hoped for at least not bigger than Binghe, which he got. That’s fine with him.
Which reminds him: insist on prep. A lot of it. And lube or something similar.
Mobei-Jun starts touching him again, but his touch is now much more insistent, pressing into his skin with a strength that’s controlled but still very obvious. Said strength isn’t doing anything for Shen Qingqiu, of course. Those large hands pressing on his skin, intent on finding all of his weak spots, don’t feel especially good or anything. He doesn’t push back into them. At all.
Mobei-Jun is less cool now.
Not warm enough not to cause his nipples to harden with Mobei-Jun pinches one lightly. Shen Qingqiu bites back a gasp, but not quickly enough for Mobei-Jun not to catch it. A second later, his mouth latches on Shen Qingqiu’s chest and Shen Qingqiu stops trying to silence himself. He allows Mobei-Jun to pull moans out of him, letting the sounds act as a guide to what he enjoys.
When Mobei-Jun frees him, his chest is sore and reddened, but pleasantly so. No blood has been drawn this time.
“It was fine?”
Shen Qingqiu blushes. He tries to make himself sound somewhat proper. He suspects he fails. “It was fine.” Like he can’t see how much Shen Qingqiu enjoyed it when he’s sitting on his lap. Or like Shen Qingqiu can’t feel the hard cock nudging his.
He still flinches when long fingers slide from his hips to between his cheeks, spreading him open. Prep! He won’t just try to shove it in there, will he?
Before he can protest, Mobei-Jun pulls out a vial of what is obviously some form of lubrication, so he calms down. He coats his fingers with a generous dose too, so they’re okay with that.
Mobei-Jun follows his gaze, as if checking that Shen Qingqiu is still on board, which, yes, continued consent is great! You’re going to need to do that if you want to keep yourself from spooking Shang Qinghua.
He tenses a bit when he feels the tip of a finger brush against his hole. It’s stupid. He can take Binghe; he can take anything Mobei-Jun throws his way.
Mobei-Jun kisses him again, always gentle. Shen Qingqiu feels some of the nerves fade. Mobei-Jun won’t just jab it in. He’s been trying too hard not to hurt him. He’ll be kind.
The finger teases the rim for a bit before pushing inside slowly.
Right, not a virgin. It’s not the first time he’s doing this. Not at all. Shen Qingqiu has nothing to say to Mobei-Jun about his fingering technique, he gets full marks. His reward is Shen Qingqiu trembling in his lap, riding his fingers and moaning softly, his hard cock bobbing gently.
Shang Qinghua is going to be a lucky bastard at some point. If those two idiots can get their heads out of their asses.
When Mobei-Jun pulls out, he leaves Shen Qingqiu an eager, trembling mess who instinctively lies back on the bed and spreads his legs to welcome him. The sight gets a rare inhale from his mostly silent partner and a body immediately covering his, looking for his mouth while finding his way between his thighs, sliding inside with ease. Shen Qingqiu is too used to receiving Binghe for this to be a hardship. Mobei-Jun is of a comparable size, but nothing he can’t handle. His legs wrap themselves around Mobei-Jun, trying to pull him deeper inside, now.
But Mobei-Jun remains maddeningly slow, teasing him with thrusts that only leave him wanting more. Shen Qingqiu can hear himself whine, trying to ask for what he wants but unable to find the words.
A distant part of his brain reminds him Mobei-Jun is afraid of hurting the fragile human, so if he wants more he’s going to have to ask for it. “More.”
Mobei-Jun stares at him in apparent fascination, but he doesn’t. speed. up!
Shen Qingqiu digs his nails into his sides in retaliation.
Mobei-Jun’s rhythm stutters.
Shen Qingqiu scratches him harder.
Mobei-Jun pushes in, hard. “Yes! There!” He’s finally getting the message! He’s getting pounded into the mattress, just like wanted. Now all he needs is to touch himself and-
Mobei-Jun slaps his hand away and growl at him. Shen Qingqiu whines in response, both outraged at being denied and turned out by that loss of control from a man who spent the whole night trying to restrain himself.
A huge hand starts stroking him to the rhythm of the thrusts, and that’s it, that’s all he wrote, Shen Qingqiu is coming and probably screaming Mobei-Jun’s ears off.
It doesn’t take long for him to feel warmth inside of him, Mobei-Jun snarling his name in his neck.
…So that happened. Will probably happen again very soon, because he adapted to Luo Binghe’s libido and so will be able to go again in no time, and Mobei-Jun must be like his master in that way. Luo Binghe wouldn’t have sent him to the bed of someone he didn’t think would be able to satisfy him. There’d be no point.
Sure enough, Mobei-Jun isn’t softening inside of him. Shen Qingqiu feels lips on the side of his neck and hands travelling up his torso.
The night has barely begun.
