Oh oh oh here we go, introducing the thread of The Things That Watanuki Doesn’t Remember. Because he made a wish. 

I can’t remember if he knows that yet, but at the very least it came up twice in Tsubasa.

I love when Watanuki so clearly has the influence of his family coming through, especially since he's so incredibly disconnected from them that he doesn't even know who they are - but the traces are there! He'll still be connected even if he doesn't know it.

And we love to see the growth! The shared lesson that all the Tsubasa Family and Watanuki are all learning at the same time - that you matter actually, even if you don’t value yourself, because other people care for you. And diminishing yourself is just hurting them. 

But here we have Watanuki who has concluded that even if he wasn’t supposed to be here, and even if he doesn’t remember why, he wants to stay now because he has people he cares for. And we love that for him! 

Complete with spooky Yuuko smoke stream creeping through his fingers!

OH AND EVEN BETTER. Watanuki starts to get self conscious about how his true feelings might sound to Doumeki and immediately gets defensive, but Doumeki ignores that immediately just doubles down on the sentiment. 

He wants him to commit to what he just said. 

HE WANTS TO KEEP YOU WATANUKI YOU HAVE TO PROMISE HIM NOW.

I am likely not going to have anything written for BuckTommy week—just too busy with work and real life, but I’d love to focus on writing something else. However I’m very overwhelmed with ideas so I put the big three (ones that will take a decent amount of time) to at least get started on.

Writing update

You'll be happy to know that I finished writing String of Fate! The story ends with chapter 37. And on that note, here's a little survey for you: should I update weekly, or keep to two updates a month? Keep in mind that the weekly updates would come starting from chapter 30. The angst will also be heavy, but we'll finish with the fluffiest fluff that ever fluffed. HEA guaranteed!

Hear ye hear ye! The bare-bones of the storyline for my AU are completed! I’m still gonna post it as a google doc, so I can still edit it in the future (when I’ll work out some plot points) but in the meantime it’s here! Free to read! And hopefully readable enough.

GUYS. My Win a Commission project is finished!!!!! I still have four months of posting left to do but I wrote, edited, drew and explained EVERYTHING!!!!!

SEVEN YEARS. I started in August 2017 (I was sixteen!) and in August 2024 I motherfucking finished!

The next time I start a long project, it better fucking be a fetus or some shit because I don’t feel like doing something like this everfucking again.

The two main characters for West of the Sun, East of the Moon, a modern retelling of East of the Sun, West of the Moon set in Alaska. Trans Sapphic love story

The main character Chantha Rasphone, for my gay ‘sequel’ to Childe Rowland. If you like Labyrinth, chances are you’ll like this. It’s the longest story I have ever written, at over 40 printer pages without the explanation, pictures or glass art. It’s even longer with those things.

Gii, the Tatterhood from my Yamana retelling. She has dwarfism and slays a leopard seal with a spear.

Billi, an intersex man and star of the Acacia Tree, my adaptation of The Juniper Tree set in modern Australia. (The picture here is based on Alan Scott’s 1970s picture ‘Face of an Aboriginal* Man, Alice Springs Area’, as shown below)

*Respectful term is the full ‘Aboriginal Australian person’, but I am just quoting the title.

What are you most proud of in regards to your art?

Hmmm.... good question!

Honestly, I'd probably say how many different styles/mediums I can work in. I haven't showcased a ton of variety on this account, but I actually bounce around quite a bit with my art. Oil painting, clay sculpture, pen and ink, cut paper collages, digital... I like testing out a lot of different stuff!

Some of the final illustrations for my last uni project of the semester! For brevity I haven’t included everything lmao, but these are my favourites of the 20 I ended up doing

I was looking at adapting Sir Gawain and the Green Knight to more of a storybook format and these were the illustrations to accompany the text!

(Animal characters because I was initially going for a fucked up medieval manuscript animal thing but that got lost along the way, rip </3)

Update!

We have now moved on from printing into the text block stage! So many pages!

360 pages totalling 15 signatures…not as many as Misery, but still a decent sized book!

I had also wanted to do some small color stuff throughout, but for some reason the file I was formatting everything in was completely messed up and when I went to fix it, the file got corrupted and I lost everything so

My laptop is so old…It can barely hold a charge, none of the keys work, it’s slower than a snail and keeps corrupting my documents whenever I try and work on them but I can’t afford a new laptop right now😭😭 What’s a binder to do lol. Also, any progress pics will now be kept under the Trillium and Ivy and in progress tags!

Anyway! Next stage is sewing!

the secret or voices 👀👀

So, Voices isn't actually a WIP file kind of? The file is a writeup i did analysing the actual work, Voices, which is a poem I wrote! It's got a pair buddy, called Death's Binds. It's mostly prose which was a fun change from my usual stuff.

here's the poem :) Bee has read it!

I labelled it as Warrior Nun, because it is very much about Lilith. the scene at the end of season 1 about Reya's commands in her head stuck around with me, though it was partly inspired by To Bleed as well :)

More dykes! I want to keep working large scale and with this material. Carving away at a life size foam replica of my body with a box cutter was a pretty intense and therapeutic process tbh. I’d like to use other models going forward! Plus I received some helpful feedback at a group critique for this work that I would love to include in my future pieces :)
