I'm hesitant to criticize it because I do think fans of the show reading the webtoon and leaving comments is probably helpful for driving traffic and interest in it but...
I kind of wish they'd just think about whether gags that are fun in an actual play format would actually translate as funny into the webtoon format.
The FH webtoon isn't like (what I've seen of) the TAZ graphic novels. There's no wink or nod to the fact that there are players and a GM behind the story here unless you come in already knowing about the actual play show.
So when I see all these people complaining about the table gag not being there and it removing alot from the fight I'm just confused. A necessary part of the joke (apart from the delivery of it by the comedians at the table) is the knowledge that the players were wasting time on a gag at the start of a fight because they were determined to beat their bad dice rolls. There are just some eccentricites and gags that won't be as funny without the dual acknowledgement of both the player at the table and the character in the scene.
Spoilers if you haven't watched Sophmore Year but I'm thinking if we ever get that far it is very hard to translate the sheer hysteria inducing hilarity of Chungle Down Bim and the fight on the Leviathan without the visual and audio components of Lou breaking down in laughter but still managing to keep his vocal performance close enough to crying that it still delivers the emotional tone of those scenes in the fiction.
Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't think that without the above the table context it would be very fun(ny) to see Fabian sobbing about a grown man threatening to shit in his mouth ya know?
