The George Shearing Quintet ‎– An Evening With The George Shearing Quintet A High Fidelity Recording ですが、残念ながらとてもその音質ではないようです。相当古い録音では？10インチの時代？シアリングの原点？寄せ集めアルバム？当然Monoで、ダイナミック・レンジもメチャメチャ狭い... 。 シアリングは、1947年にアメリカに渡り、1949年にヴィブラフォンやエレクトリックギターを導入した編成のクインテットを結成し、MGMレコードと契約とあります。これですね。本作は、この時期のクインテットでの録音に間違いないですね。 同年の1949年2月17日、映画の挿入歌をアレンジし録音された"September In The Rain(九月の雨)"が大ヒットして注目。そのヒット・ソング以外の当時の代表作を収録したオムニバス盤と言う感じでしょうか。"September In The Rain"が収納された2枚組アルバムもカバー・デザインが、ほぼ一緒。さらに、"Lullaby Of Birdland"というアルバムも同じデザインでグリーン... 。 要は、どれもオムニバスだと言うこと。収録曲が全く違う別物アルバム。内容が違うなら、カバーくらい別のデザインにするべきですよね。Verveだったり再発盤も多数あるので、混乱します。非常に紛らわしい。逆に何か意図でも？... 。 いろいろ調べてみると本作は、ジョージ・シアリング・クインテットの1954年リリースで、MGM Records E3122。 "Loew's Inc."からのMade In USA。 以前に紹介した#364:"You're Hearing"も同年代、"September In The Rain"が収録されています。 All Musicによれば、ジョージ・シアリング・クインテットの初期のMGM録音は、完全に時間順に再発行されたことはないそう。本作は、シアリングのグループが米国内で徐々に最も人気の高いグループになった3年間をカバーしているアルバム。1949～1951年録音のクインテット演奏寄せ集め。 であれば、元の音源の音質はこの程度で当然。A High Fidelity Recordingは、発売当時のプレスの品質、SP盤の音質を随分高めたと言うことですね。 Grado MC+MONOで、当時人気だったシアリングを味わいましょう。 なので、残念ながら詳しい録音データはありません...。 パーソネルは... #GeorgeShearing (p)、#CalTjader (vi)、#JeanThielemans (g)、#AlMcKibbon (b)、#BillClark (ds) らしいのですが、クインテット全員は不明。 楽曲はとても個性的。ジャズなんでしょうか？本作は、正直あまり好みではありません。 演奏は、Side 1はヴィヴラフォンとギターがメイン、Side 2の方は、バリエーションに富み楽器のバランスも曲毎にバラバラ。また、曲順ですが、ジャケットの表面、裏面、ラベルの3ヶ所の記載が全部違います。 #jazz #fuzey #vinyl #jazzvinyl #vinylcollection #ジャズ #スイングジャーナル #レコード *作品を知るとジャズはもっと輝きます。情報くださる先輩諸氏に感謝。 https://www.instagram.com/p/CJXzwNkMx3n/?igshid=gl2rs3mdc3nm

@HenrySimmons : I love my #NYPDBlue family. I was so grateful to be with them to celebrate the life and legacy of our patriarch, Steven Bochco.
