Early Access Update is now Live! 🎉

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for the inactivity. A lot has been going on in my personal life. First, a close relative of mine passed away not too long ago and I decided to take a little break to mourn and process. And then, once I started working on the update again, I found out that I had to overhaul the coding for the Hangout system despite my best to try salvage it. So, yeah, suffice to say it's been pretty stressful couple of months.

I'm so happy and relieved to be able to finally start sharing the update I've been working on. This update is a big one, bringing 27K new words into the demo, bringing the overall word count to 384K words!

Some new stuff to expect from the update (without spoilers 🤭):

A whole new section and new scenes added at the end of Ash's Hangout.

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 24/May/2024 

Well, I should probably start the update by saying that the first demo section will be released tomorrow for the $5+ tiers on Patreon and publicly late next week! :D

It is a short section, only being Chapter One, but a lot of the work went into the behind the scenes and coding stuff, so hopefully it will be running super smooth! It’ll be a good thing to see if this new editing system is working, and also if all that intense work that went into the cleaning code, changing character creator, etc has paid off, hehe!

While I was waiting for the readers’ comments to come back in, I really went hard on Chapter Two this week. This new keyboard has made the world of difference, and I’ve been able to type pretty much back at the speed I was before. It feels soooo good!

I am getting tempted to go back to a bit I’ve already written and add in a Unit Bravo POV section though. It’s not a planned scene, but I think it would really fit in well. It’s just that it’s already quite a linear chapter (A LOT of setting up the story for what’s to come), so I’m not sure about adding in another section where the reader can’t pick a choice.

I’m definitely back and forwards on adding that in at the moment.

There’s something about Book Four that is feeling…different. Not the way it’s written or anything, just, well, I always put everything I am into all my works, but Book Four is drawing even more from me, and I’m pushing myself and digging deeper than ever before to really put my all into it. It’s feeling really special in many ways already!

Next week, I’ll be working on getting all the text and graphic assets Hosted Games needs for putting Book 4 on the Steam wishlist. Seems good timing with the first demo release!

I’ll also be pushing on with Chapter Two. I’m really hoping to get it finished next week. It’s a big one with a lot going on which will really make for an exciting next demo section… ;D

I can’t wait for you to try out the demo! It’s like Book Four is really coming to life now I’m finally getting to share it with you all, hehe! :D

Progress Update for Oct 2024

Hey, everyone!

It's time to touch base once more and let you all know where I'm at! And where I am is glorious~

As you know, I've been working to finish Morkai's route. It's just that I keep ADDING things LMAO!

Like, whole scenes. I count at least two that I remember off the top of my head, and I'm not done yet, so who knows at this point.

There are only two PLANNED scenes left for me to write, but they will be hefty ones. Like, going on for multiple pages ones. And uh...the time for Morkai's second smut scene is nearly upon us.

Little spoiler: he's planning to make it special 😏 So yeah! I think I might switch to Straasa's route for a bit, though, to clear my head as it were.

Sometimes I need to swap between routes/projects, because I get writer's block in one but not the other LMAO!

So that might be a small writer's tip you may try if you get a block—trying switching it around~

AND, as concerns BtM.... OH BOI!!!!!!!!!! BtM has been what has REALLY shined for me this month!!!

Like, gosh, not to toot my own horn, but I am LOVING how everything is getting together.

The vision I've always had is shaping up distinctly, and it's just…lovely.

Of course, the planned romance scenes with the ROs are multiplying at an exponential rate…. This segment I'm on right now has TWO unexpected additional Zach scenes. Wait, no. THREE.

And the uncanny vibe is GETTING OUT OF CONTROL! Strange things happening, but also….

The ROs may be starting to show their true colors all the more. While at the same time being insanely loving LOL

But that's a good thing, right? Transparency. And we all know most of this fandom is into problematic bastards 🤣

So yeah, out of the three big segments remaining for BtM, I'm very close to finishing the first. It would have been long ago if I ever stuck to my original plans, but GUESS THAT'S NOT ME.

If inspiration hits, and it fits, I gotta add it in 😭Go big or go home and all that.

Aaaand that's it for this progress update! I can't wait to continue with both BtM and TSSW 3!

Progress Update 10/30/24

This month has flown by, and so much happened in my personal life -- both good (attending a wedding) and bad (contracting a listeria infection that debilitated me for two weeks T_T).

On the writing front: I haven't made as much progress in chapter 1 as I was hoping, but I promised to have something by the end of the month and I am sticking to that. Taking on a commission really helped get the inspiration flowing -- what started as a 1K word prompt turned into a 2K short story that is now ending up over 4K words long. The commissioner asked for a what-if scenario for if Sadie was romanced, survived, and was present for the prologue's feast when the MC learns of their betrothal. I'm happy with the way it's turned out and am so excited to send it to the client later today!

I'm spending the rest of my time focusing on chapter 1 so I will have as much content as possible for tomorrow's update. The result will be a bit rough, and I anticipate many updates coming next month to patch that over. That's where you, dear readers, will be a big help for me.

The bodyguard might be the only RO to make it into tomorrow's update, but the advisor and priest won't be far behind! I've also tidied up some of the prologue, particularly the player sexuality mechanics that pop up for some players in the prologue -- and chapter 1 introduces these mechanics early on for the players who didn't get this prompt in the prologue (which I suspect is most of you).

If you're curious about the commissioned story, it will be available on Ko-Fi at some point in the near future. If I get to 10 commissions, I will release all of the stories in a $5 bundle. Otherwise, I'm planning to make stories (and much more content) available on a Patreon I plan to set up by the end of the year -- sooner if there's enough interest!

I was going to do an apothecary set this month, but ending up laid up in bed at the end of the month means it has to be pushed back... however, I did clean up and add-to my ultra useful and ohmygodcannotlivewithoutthem composition brushes to make them presentable to the public! They're easily transformed and flipped to fit your canvas, and they're immensely useful for illustrations, comic work, or any visual thing you need doing. These are up on my patreon as well as a bunch of clean, full sized comic pages, illustrations, and some bonus transparent .png borders that I made. And like I mentioned before, I'm doing a new big illo as well.. it's not quite ready yet, (though it's very close!) and its full size version will be available when it is. [WIP] A young Entrapta killing the Last King of the Scorpioni

Is okay to cry for what had been lost, my dear. Tomorrow is a new day, as for today the child you once were had died.

Maybe no the most happy of drawings, but I think is a good one to finish 2023.

Firts of all, I hope you all had a very happy Christmas this year, and I wish an equally Happy New Year!!

This year has been rough for me, I passed my internship with the highest grades in July, and now I am days to finish my thesis finally.

In the past months there has been very little updates from me, no art whatsoever, and I'm ashamed of say, not even commission updates for those who had been due theirs. I apologize profoundly.

At the beginning of 2023 I experienced a back injury that took months to heal, the pain was too much, and still today I feel the reminicent of it. At the same time I've been too exhausted by all the requiriments to finish this big step in my life to become a professional and academic in my field, that I negleted the one thing that brings me the most joy in my life.

I am not good balancing work and life, and this took a toll on me. For the first time in long time, that part of my life that brings joy became a burden, I indentified it as a distraction, and I turned it off completely.

This happened because I'm experiencing a big sense of dread to the prospect of what the future awaits for me, trying to search for summer jobs without avail and feeling disappointed all over, feeling depressed because I feel stuck and not growing as an adult reaching 30, there are a lot of expectations to what I could do after getting my degree, defending my thesis on March will be one of them. And this has taken all my energy and time from creating things I love, to the point I even asked myself what was the point of continuing with it.

Art is one of these things that has been with me for the longest, starting drawing when I learned to hold a pen, even before knowing how to write, but in the past six months, after spending a great time without even sketching, I was afraid I had lost this ability, as my head was on Uni, and my body felt heavy by all the stress I didn't want to even check if I could still draw.

I do, I can still draw, although slowly and always resting. My brain needs to adapt again to what it was after months of not doing so.

Creating this version of Entrapta has been a roller coaster of emotions for me, she helps me to express myself and I love thinking in new ways to draw her, I don't care she is not really an original character, but mostly the deep emotional connection I have with her while writing and drawing her story.

She is strong, she is cunning, she is fierce and intelligent. But even a woman like her has to have moment of vulnerability. And this scene, is a pinpoint moment; killing while losing something of herself, quite literally, not feeling fierce but fragile, in pain, and overwhelmed.

Is something that I have reflected a lot the past months, to realize I am entering a moment in my life I should allow me to feel and not to restrict myself from the things I love, so I will try to take my time facing the situations that scares me and as well trying not to feel overwhelmed and anxious for what is to come.

Devlog (06/12/23)

I did about 2,000 more words of writing on the game, I'll say now that the second public update probably won't be coming out, since progress has been slower than I'd like, I've just been quite busy IRL so haven't had as much time as I wanted to dedicate to writing.

I've just been working on the Sonia branch of the scenes I was talking about in the last post, so it's been slow work getting parity with those two branches, though they're going to converge soon so that will lighten my workload for a little bit, which is nice.

The next major update will, of course, be released sometime early next year, and that'll finish Chapter Two (hopefully, with how big everything is getting who's to say? :p)

I've also been doing little bits on my short stories, and I'm excited to say there's going to be a sneak-peek of Bladeweaver's first side-story, Snow, available tomorrow! I'll be posting it on here as a post, though there'll also be a PDF available for you to download and read.

As a reminder, it covers a younger Callen and Sonia on a mission in the frozen north of Phanol, where things go slightly awry and they're forced to confront dark aspects of themselves. They're also not living in Sola in this story (gasp!) and Callen doesn't have a beard (bigger gasp!)

Part 1 of the story, which will go beyond what's in the sneak-peek, will be available on my Patreon, launching later this month :)

Shit is... a little bit more together. Set up YNAB and I was one month ahead of myself on expenses.... so getting that in order right now lol. ACOG day for junior fellows was my second big hurdle which I got through and went well, though 10-12 h of driving in 2 days is exhausting. Hello! The year is coming to an end, and as I tend to do at times like this, I find myself looking back on what this year was for me.

It's no secret that this has been one of the worst years for the comic in a long time, and it's not something I'm particularly proud of. It's also no secret that the comic slowing to a crawl is something that has been weighing on me greatly. It's something I feel a lot of regret and guilt over, and though I've said it many times this year, I still think it's important to say again. I'm very sorry that I've been unable to keep up with my comic. 

Next month the comic will be reaching its thirteenth anniversary. It's been a long road, and the comic's state through the years has directly reflected my own. When the comic is doing well, I am doing well. When it's not, I am not. I feel this is reflected in both the speed of updates and the quality of the art. 

This story is something I've put my heart into, and I want nothing more than to see it through. So, needless to say, the poor output of the comic this year has been a direct result of my own struggles. It's been a very hard year for me, a year I've struggled to stay afloat, and a year I've tried to find myself and who I want to be. 

I apologize if this comes off as too dramatic, but I can't help but think about these sort of things at times like this. Thirteen years... that's such a long time. I think I just hope to be understood. No one is more disappointed about the current state of the comic than me.

That said, I don't mean for this to be a sad post. On the contrary, I want it to be an uplifting one. 2023 was a year of struggles for me. A year of soul searching. A year of trying to find meaning. The answer I found was this. I love my comic. I love what I do. I love the people who enjoy my work. I love to share my work with you all, and I don't want to stop. 2023 was a year of struggles, so I'm going to make 2024 a year I can thrive again.

That's what I hope the takeaway of this post will be. I have been unwell, but I'm still determined to keep going. And I'm going to be trying harder than ever to find myself again this upcoming year. 

That said, I know that's easier said than done. I don't expect the comic to catch up to speed again overnight. But I'm ready to take those steps. Starting tomorrow, public updates will be resuming. Updates will continue to come first on my Patreon. My goal is to finish at least one page a week. Over time I hope to make that number even bigger. I hope to ease my way into more frequent updates again. These are goals, not promises, but ones I'm going to be trying as hard as I can to meet. 

You know what's been really hard? This scene we're on right now is a scene I've been looking forward to since the comic began. We're on the cusp of some big character moments, and it's driving me wild that we've been so close yet so far for so long. I'm excited about what's about to happen, and I truly hope you enjoy what's to come. 

Earlier this year I mentioned wanting to change the story medium at some point. This is something I still intend to do, but it won't be happening in the near future. At the very least I plan to finish chapter 6 as it is. Honestly, I really want chapter 7 to continue the comic format as well. Whether or not chapter 7 will be a comic however, I do intend to switch formats once the lycan arc is over. I truly believe this will be a good thing, and it will make finishing the story a lot more realistic. I'm excited for it when it comes, but I don't anticipate it coming just yet.

Also, I spoke before about issues with the hosting for my comic's website. This is something I've been working on behind the scenes, and I have good news in that regard! This issue has been resolved. Thanks to the help of a very kind friend, my website has new hosting and can continue running for the foreseeable future. I'm very relieved and very grateful that things turned out this way. That's one less thing to weigh down my mind.

Once again, thank you so much for all the support you've given me. Thank you for enjoying my work. Thank you for sticking by me for so long. Thank you for giving me a chance even as I've struggled. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. Here's to a better 2024! ♥

Weekly Update for 12 February, 2023 (Plus Some Bonus Stuff and Life Update)

Hello, everyone! We're doing the Weekly Update a little early, but that's because I might take tomorrow night off as a LOT has happened the last couple of weeks!

Mind Games: Trepidation

Where are we on MG: Trepidation? Quite a bit further, I'll say! I got a little over a whopping 4,000 words done this week! Chapter 5 is currently at 26,500 words! I'm currently working on a big 3 branch split section of Scene 3, with the first big branch completed and the second one a little over halfway done.

Speaking of, I think I'm roughly halfway or a little over halfway done with Scene 3! After the 3-branch split, I only have 2 more sections of the scene to complete, and then I can move onto Scene 4! I'm hoping to get the second branch of the 3-branch split done next week, and I'll probably save the third one for a little later so I don't get bored of writing different but still somewhat similar things for two weeks in a row.

The 3-branch split is actually a small RO scene, plus a solo for each group! The groups are as follows:

Blake, Iri, Jericho (finished)

Fawn, Loche, Zephyra (half-done)

Adontis, Freja, Aoelle (saving for later)

Outside of MG: Trepidations Script

Now, I also got some fun stuff done outside of just script writing, as well! I wanted to take a break from it, and in doing so, got a couple of fun scenarios written.

As you guys have seen, we have a Poll post up right now (you can click and go to it if you haven't voted yet). Whichever scenario you guys collectively vote the highest on, will be the free post coming out this month! The other two will be available on Patreon. I am very excited to see which wins!!!

I will also go ahead and say, I've completed the Adontis and Loche ones and both have clocked over 1,000 words a piece. And I definitely expect Blake's to as well, so just know whichever wins, you'll be getting a pretty nice chunk with them!!

Life Update

There is one last thing I do want to discuss. So, I have talked about my health on here on and off over the years, and I finally got insurance this year, so I've started getting some things taken care of. However, I did receive some bad news in the last two weeks, and a lot of lifestyle and health changes are gonna be happening. I think I will actually be able to work better than usual, however, given the fact that these changes are also for my mental health as well as my physical.

All this to say that things aren't the best right now, nor are they for a lot of people, but I think things will hopefully start looking up as I get on track of my health. I have noticed already that I've been getting quite a bit more done writing wise since these changes have started, and I'm hoping it continues. I'd really, really love to get most of the first book done this year!!

JUNE 2024 UPDATE

So! It's halfway through the year and I have only posted 2 short videos. Chalk it up to a combination of no motivation, personal stuff and the outside world being so shitty right now that it's hard to get in the creative mood. BUT- I am working on changing that! I've got 3 different animation projects in the works right now that I'd like to share updates on so I'm not just keeping y'all in the dark for months on end. I'd like to be able to make this a monthly thing either here or on Patreon (or both! I can do a truncated version here and then go into more detail on Patreon if that sounds cool! Still debating on whether or not I want to change the tier prices there; let me know what you think!)

HATSUNE MIKU ANIMATION: I've posted about this one on Patreon but I'm currently working on a big full color Hatsune Miku video set to Freely Tomorrow (the first Vocaloid song I ever heard). Currently it is fully boarded and 20% of the animation shots have been completed. I'm aiming to have this one done by August 31st (Miku's birthday).

EVANGELION ANIMATION: I've recently started work on animating a short clip from the Evangelion: After The End drama CD featuring Rei and Asuka. I got the idea for this after seeing End of Eva in theaters a couple months ago (which BOY was that an amazing experience) and this one is also fully boarded and 1 and a half of the cuts have been completed so far. I have no idea when this will be done but I'm aiming for around late June/early July. Depends on how other things go.

DUVET REMAKE ANIMATIC: As a 5-year anniversary/50th video celebration (if the Eva video comes out before this one that's video 49.5) I've decided to remake my very first YouTube video, which was a Doki Doki Literature Club animatic set to Duvet from Serial Experiments Lain. I haven't started boarding this one yet but I have the song and character ref sheets ready to go. Hoping to have this done by late July.

That's all the project updates I have to share right now! I also really wanna try livestreaming at some point and one of my big goals for this summer is to open commissions over on my Ko-Fi page. I'm kinda waiting for some stuff in my personal life to get sorted out before I do that but once it does I'll get right on it!
