Overall Rating:

9/10 because the first one is better but this one is still good and fun. The cover is hot. It’s a shame Sawyer couldn’t stay hot.

Favorite Outfit Rating:

The outfits were still not great. The one for the auction was actually okay, and obviously all the party ones are fine. But wearing that pink dress to do chores? No chance.

LI Ranking and Rating:

Dallas – 10/10. Meeting his mom and clearing his name means so much to me.

Juliette – 9/10. I play with her as endgame too, might come back and redo it if I have time before this app fades into oblivion.

Asha – 10/10. She deserved a plot and baby got it. I’m so proud of her.

Sawyer – 9/10. Going with him to the hospital? Amazing.

Side Character Ranking and Rating:

They are all great and full of character. I can’t think of any new ones who really made much of an impact? Obviously new villains, but Tate is lame.

Dallas’s mom is great

Brooklynne is my queen. Love that girl

Love that Cliff sees MC as a daughter. She is fab.

Other Relationship Ranking and Rating:

Curley and Bentley 3/10. I don’t get it. Curley deserves better.

I love an election. That was good. I love Cliff trusting us with the farm. It is my lifelong dream to have horses though so I want it.

10/10. I could never rate Dallas anything less.

Main Character Rating:

10/10 she grows into her own in this book and becomes confident in the value she brings. You will never make me say anything negative about her.

Art Rating:

It’s still a cute place. The art didn’t really add much of anything for this book.

It would depend a lot on their ages, of course, but I think they’re all fairly young at the point of this fic, especially considering how much Adam is craving some quiet, haha.

Renée’s wish would probably switch every few minutes. She’d start by saying she wanted new pretty dresses, the purple one she saw the duchess wear at the ball, the blue one with flowers that Mama wore yesterday. Mama’s earrings, Papa’s rings, Madame de Garderobe’s necklaces. Then the wish would change, now she wants a new horse. A big one, with ribbons in her hair and a bright pink saddle. Reins that sparkled with jewels. Then she’d dream even bigger. A big ship on which she can be the captain. An army for which she can be their general. A country that she can rule all on her own.

Her little brother keeps interrupting her, so in the end she wishes for him to go away.

Juliette’s far more unsure. She’s more concerned with the perimeters of the question. Who is granting this wish? How is it getting granted? Is it for a physical object or for an experience? Should she wish for a new violin? or perhaps another trip to that town in Italy where her and her family watched the sun set on that hill? She doesn’t ask her mother any of these questions, though. She contemplates and contemplates, while her sister rambles on and on.

When her mother asks again, hugging her around the shoulders, Juliette scrambles for an answer and settles on “butterflies.” “Butterflies, sweetheart?” Belle asks. Juliette explains she wants a painting of butterflies, for her room. Belle kisses her head and makes a mental note to ask their grandfather to bring such a painting to life.

Maurice’s wishes are by far the most whimsical and wild. His little mind wishes for fire-breathing dragons to ride through the sky, for magical powers that allow him to turn into different animals, for the ability to climb every tower and tree with ease. He runs around the room as he tells all this to his family. Lots of his words run together and many of them aren’t exactly complete words, but his mother and sisters understand nonetheless.

Belle scoops him onto her lap, telling him those are all excellent wishes. Renée continues describing her big ideas, telling Juliette all the details while Maurice squeals to Belle about the dragon he’s picturing, quickly climbing off her lap to draw it with every color he can get his hands on.

Overall Rating:

10/10. This book is everything my little country girl heart could dream of. The sweet, silly, strange townfolks. The county fair. The animals. The rivalry with the neighbors. The city girl trying to find somewhere safe and fulfilling to land. I LOVE IT. This is one of the best books.

Favorite Outfit Rating:

I refuse to rate these outfits because none of them are appropriate for the farm (I guess the winter one was appropriate for winter).

This book does have the most appropriate non-diamond outfit. The black tank and jeans are something I have worn on the farm this month.

LI Ranking and Rating:

Dallas 10/10.

Juliette 9/10.

Asha – she gets a bad shake in this book because we never see her! Much higher rating in book 2.

Sawyer – he’s ugly. If he weren’t, that would be amazing as a storyline.

Side Character Ranking and Rating:

Miles and Brooklynne – my babies. I love them.

The townies are so small town. They are weird and I love it

Dick mulligan is the worst and I love that for him.

What’s his face at agracorp is so smug and smarmy and judgmental of people living in rural America. Great villain.

The animals are amazing. I usually hate them but this is a ranch book so they had to be there.

SPIKE. 10/10

Miles and Brooklynne – 8/10.

Cliff and Annemarie – 7/10. I love when widows and widowers find love

Fun but also it could be adventure.

Story Rating:

10/10. I love this book. I love saving the farm from the big bad corporation. It hits very close to home because my dad is a farmer, single man and much child labor (my siblings and myself) operation, and is so passionate about sustainability (he’d never call it that but he does care about it a lot) and his animals that I feel the same way.

Romance Rating:

Dallas is perfect. I also play with Juliette too and I think hers is great too. Asha’s in this book is trash but next book with the campaign is great.

Main Character Rating:

I love my little city girl who falls in love with the country. I love that she adapts and welcomes farm life with open arms.
