Big Sky Country  Appreciation Week (Day 7): Free Day

Yes, it’s late. I’m procrastinating and I’m a piece of trash. But I really want to make this edit done because these characters deserve it. Have some photo group and wedding.

Day 29: Shopping with Brooklynne Shao-Oakley

When Brooklynne had announced that she wanted a fresh new wardrobe before she started her senior year at High School, you had been all for the idea, supporting your niece even when her father had seemed to disagree. But when Sawyer had backed the two of you up Duke couldn't help but cave. As the two of you entered the mall in Billings after a very peaceful drive you couldn't help but admire all of the beautiful outfits in the store windows, Brooklynne seeing your longing for a couple of the outfits somehow managed to encourage you to make some pretty great purchases as well.

By the time the two of you made it to the cafeteria for lunch you notice how silent Brooklynne has been for the last twenty minutes or so, and you reach out giving her hand a gentle squeeze as you ask

"Is everything okay, Brookie?". When Brooklynne stops and begins to sob, you pull her into your arms, holding her close as a hand gently runs up and down her back

"Ssh, I've got you. I've got you sweetheart" you whisper into her ear and she nods, giving you a small smile when she pulls back and reaches up to wipe the tears from her face

"Geez, I feel so pathetic" she says and you shake your head, as you say

"You are not pathetic Brookie". She sighs before she pulls out of your embrace and says

"Yes I am. Aunty Y/N if I tell you this, you have to promise not to tell anyone before I find the courage to do so myself okay?" She asks and you tilt your head to the side but ultimately you nod, wanting for her to be able to confide in you. She drags you further into the cafeteria, finding a table that has practically nobody around it she poops herself down before she looks across at you as you do the same. You reach across the table, giving her hand a gentle squeeze and she smiles before it falls from her face.

"Aunty Y/N, a couple of weeks ago Miles and I we uh, we started taking things further in our relationship and I guess the condom must've broken or something because I uh- I took a pregnancy test and it said that I was pregnant" she admits and your very careful to school your features, and you give her hand a gentle squeeze as you ask

"Does Miles know? Your father?" When she shakes her head you can't stop from sighing,

"I literally just found out like an hour before we left home, but I needed to talk to someone I trusted and that person is you. I needed to be able to tell someone who I could trust wasn't going to completely lose it the moment I told them" she explains and you nod.

"Hey, Brookie, everything will turn out okay in the end, there's going to be a hell of a battle that your going to have to fight and your going to have a lot of thinking to do about your future but no matter what happens I'm going to be behind you every step of the way" you say and she jumps to her feet, rushing round the table to throw her arms around you

"Thank you so much Aunty, I love you" she says and you smile, squeezing her hands as you whisper

"I love you too Brookie".

Okay, but can we talk for a second about Brooklynne?

Because PB really wrote a teenage girl who’s interested in fashion, runs a vlog, and isn’t stereotyped as vapid or self-centred. And who has the most heartwarming little-sibling-esque relationship with MC. I know it’s just a small thing, but honestly, I love BSC for it.

On a different note, I always enjoy the group photos like these.

That said, with the exception of Endless Summer’s group photo, I think they either need to stick with everyone just having sprites or everyone slightly redrawn because while the styles are close, they don’t always mesh enough >>

It’s still cute though.

I wanted everyone to carve their names into the tree too though.
