As someone who works closely with the Latinx community in my city and is deeply involved in it as a neighbor and academic, I'm so incredibly disappointed that there is not the same amount of protection and defense for the Martez sisters. This is especially for Trace, who I think is adorable.

Rafa's Happy Birthday Special 5: Rafa's Sick Daze

I didn't have any idea on what to do for my birthday this year... that is, until i suffered from allergies at the start of Spring, which struck me with inspiration.

Time to give credits where credit is due.

First off, huge thanks to @matmadness for making the 3D model of Fay Tay (which he just finished modelling the whole thing yesterday), and even doing the porting work himself.

Would commission him again!

And secondly, official voice reveal from the casting call! Presenting... @RainbowBlosso16 as the official voice actress of Fay Tay.

She stated that Fay Tay's her favourite OC of mine, which made her a rather easy choice to cast her.

September 15 marks the start of Hispanic Heritage month; in the past I've talked about Teresa Rivera, one of Barbie's more well-known friends, but this year I thought I'd talk about a few other Barbies.

Mattel spotlighted this video for Hispanic Heritage Month, featuring Barbie's friend Rafa celebrating his Puerto Rican culture. Rafa is a character from such Barbie media as It Takes Two and Big City, Big Dreams. As a result, one of his rare appearances in the doll line was in the Big City Big Dreams playset.

Rafa also appeared in a Mexico-exclusive release in 2020.

Or, at least, a character named Rafa did. I'm not sure honestly if it's supposed to be the same character -- they certainly don't look much alike. But they do have the same name and were released in consecutive years. So perhaps Mattel was tinkering with the character concept.
