i have also seen some tehms be critical of the gay porn industry, but it's p few and far between. there's a couple of good write-ups + master posts about the topic that float around out there, but 1 of the authors deactivated like ages ago. so yeah, kudos for that

but in general i more consistently see them seething + complaining about a favorite performer of theirs being bi than anything else 😭 like 1 im never going to be mad at a someone making $$$ off of coomers, and 2 it's really funny to see that they get more upset about a cam/OF boy or adult performer being biexual than the human rights abuses that happen in the industry. most men have been completely ruined by porn in general tho so i didn't expect much from that crowd.

i even saw a few of them get asks (likely from the same person) for advice from someone purporting to be a gay man trying to exit the sex industry... and Nobody had any useful insight/resources/anything. it was shocking tbh !! the truth is they don't care largely

i cannot fathom being upset over smth like a "favourite cam performer". mental illness. the bit about not having any advice to give someone trapped in the porn industry is the really distressing part, though. in my local area it's anti-prostitution women's organizations that deal with such matters (young gay prostitution, to be precise), really makes you think why there isn't a history of gay solidarity around that

And if we want to approach this from the opposite direction, focusing on the queer people that this person claims their whole argument is here to support, as a cis-presenting masc non-binary bisexual married to a cis biexual woman, I have been harmed way more by exclusionist queer people telling me that I'm not gay enough to be here then I ever have by cis people playing pretend.

And it's way more important to make sure that queer people have a space then it is to make sure that cishetallo people don't get to enter that space.

Is your sense of self and Community really so fragile that you are willing to chase away actual members of the community who genuinely need that community just to prevent your straw man infiltrator from showing up? Is guilty until proven innocent really the direction we want to go?

If you are going to have literally no criteria for being queer, then how can you say that anyone isn't? How can you refer to any person in any context as cis/straight?
