🩸The Mindf*ck Series by S.T Abby🩸 QOTD: Have you read this series? What were your thoughts and feelings? Y’all this is one of my favorite series this year, I’m not a thriller girlie but this was excellent! There are 5 novellas that make up the complete series. This book is about Lana Myers who is a female serial killer who is working through a list to get revenge on people who physically and sexually assaulted her, brutally killed her brother and dad years and left her for dead years ago. She meets an FbI agent (who is working on her case and trying to stop her) at a coffee shop named Logan and the hit it off and start to form a relationship. So in these 5 novellas we see Lana’s and Logan’s relationship grow, start uncovering mysteries and figuring out what happened to Lana in the past. There are so many dark and twisted things that happen that kept me on suspense and anxious. This book is dark, there is graphic violence and assault so please check the tw’s before reading. Everything eventually leads to Logan finding out that Lana is the serial killer that they have been looking for and Lana and co uncovering exactly what happened in the past and getting her revenge. Lana is such a compelling character and I was always on her side no matter what she did. I liked how supportive Logan was (with the exception of one moment) and how much he loved Lana. I also really liked Jake and Hadley I thought they were really interesting characters. I don’t think any thing I say can do this book justice so go read it and be prepared for a dark and thriller filled ride! A Study in Scarlet is that one story that will excite, confuse, and touch readers' hearts all at the same time. What could be more pleasurable than joining Sherlock's lot in solving a puzzling case with none but little traces of truth left behind as well as unraveling the thrilling history behind a gruesome double murder? No wonder why this story had been a hit during its time (and still at present) being Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's ticket to being immortal and bringing Sherlock to life.

Sherlock Holmes must be the most intriguing fictional detective you could meet. He is cunning, mysterious, and genius (and knows it). He does not see the world through a normal person's perspective but draws conclusions based on the smallest detail invisible to the rest of us. And instead of being this tough detective we all very well know, Sherlock could be soft and even hilarious at times. He is amusingly overconfident and in control - headstrong. When he finally discloses the truth that surprised us all, it was an unforgettable one.

My heart ached for Jefferson Hope along with John and Lucy Ferrier. What happened to them is just one of the most horrific things that can happen in real life. Perhaps, the murders were justice served though they were still undeniably wrong. That trip to Salt Lake, Utah was exhausting and heart shattering. Some of the most powerful people - even the "god-centered" ones - would be willing to take drastic and horrible actions just to get in their way. It was one of the worst nightmares you could have. And while Jefferson Hope's life was already dawning, I could just admire him and his young man's self for being simply himself.

P.S. I missed No.221B, Baker Street! It has been ages since Sherlock last amused me! Plus I just watched the first episode of its English series adaptation, “Scarlet in Pink” – not sure if I’ll continue watching the series or choose to read the books first. I think I’ll go with the latter. Ciao.

Im glad I was able to visit BiblioPH today and found these hidden Gems... I dont know why but classic novels really hooked me knowadays though its really difficult for me to grasp the humors of these Era, none the less these Wordsworth editions are beautiful, definitely going straight to my shelf..

The Rose and the Dagger

The Kingdom of Rey is in ruins after the magical storm that hit it. The gears are starting to turn, and war is marching straight to the vulnerable kingdom’s doorstep. 

First Impression: I love the cover of this book so much~ I rarely judge a book by its cover bu, damn, if it’s shiny silk, golden daggers and blood red petals, it’s gotta be a good book. Also, I just had to get this book coz I was already holding the first one in my hand. 

Book Talk

In the sequel of The Wrath and the Dawn, we get to see more of the side characters we met in the first novel. 

We finally get to see more of Irsa, Shazi’s little sister, who is an absolute gem. She’s more rational than her sister, balancing Shahrazad’s recklessness with logic and reason. For me she’s the proof that a character can be strong without being a brute or being rash. 

There’s also a lot more magic in this book than the first, with genies and flying serpents, more curses and stuff. 

Also, I particularly love the girl power ending. When men with swords fail at ending a war, women with charm and wit could do the job. It ends the story on such a high note.

Final Verdict:

I found this book more likable than the first, probably because it finally moved to the actual action-packed thing that I expected it to be versus the more romance-centered first book. It’s a great ending to this duology, filled with girl power and action overall.
