Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus: The Key to Stronger Faith
Stronger faith is rooted in Jesus Christ, who initiates and perfects it. By fixing our eyes on Him, we find strength and purpose.
Introduction: Faith is only as strong as the object in which it is placed. As Christians, the object of our faith is not a concept, a philosophy, or even a list of rules—it’s a person, Jesus Christ. Jesus is not only the one who calls us to faith, but He is also the one who perfects it. When our faith is rooted in Him, we are anchored, secure, and able to persevere through life’s challenges.

Daily Meditation: Glorifying God in Our Lives
"For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6:20)
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in my love." (John 15:5-9)
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31)
"I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore." (Psalm 86:12) - A Walk In The Garden Devotions

She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.”

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33 NIV
What does seeking God look like in your life? Feelings of guilt used to sometimes drive my desire to spend time with God in prayer and Bible reading. I thought I was letting God down if I didn't make this a priority. Honestly, I think God must feel disappointed when we neglect Him. After all, He tells us in His Word that He is a jealous God. I'm jealous for time with the people I love, too. We need to realize God doesn't want us to come to Him out of obligation but out of desire. When you and I see God for who He really is, we will desire Him. Period. Oh, Father, open our eyes to who You are! Write, pray, or reflect on this today. Tell God that you want to know Him and love Him more. Cry out to Him for more of His presence in your life.
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6 NIV

The Connection Between Faith and Obedience
Faith and obedience are integral in Christianity. Reflecting love for God through action. Genuine faith compels believers to follow God.
Introduction: Faith and obedience are inseparable in the Christian life. True faith is not just a matter of intellectual belief or emotional conviction—it compels us to act. When we trust God, we naturally want to follow His commands. Obedience is the outward expression of inward faith. Jesus made it clear that loving Him means obeying His commandments. Today, we will explore how obedience flows

My four-year-old grandson sat on my lap and patted my bald head, studying it intently. “Papa,” he asked, “What happened to your hair?” “Oh,” I laughed, “I lost it over the years.” His face turned thoughtful: “That’s too bad,” he responded. “I’ll have to give you some of mine.”
I smiled at his compassion and pulled him close for a hug. Reflecting later on his love for me in that cherished moment also caused me to ponder God’s selfless, generous love.
G. K. Chesterton wrote: “We have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we.” By this he meant that the “Ancient of Days” (Daniel 7:9) is untainted by sin’s decay—God is ageless and loves us exuberantly with a love that never falters or fades. He’s fully willing and able to fulfill the promise He made to His people in Isaiah 46: “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you” (v. 4).
Five verses later He explains, “I am God, and there is none like me” (v. 9). The great “I am” (Exodus 3:14) loves us so deeply that He went to the extreme of dying on the cross to bear the full weight of our sin, so that we might turn to Him and be free of our burden and gratefully worship Him forever!
