But a grandson and granddaughter.

Neither fit to inherent, obviously. But his blood has run true. His son married the most powerful woman he could locate. Because studying the borders between life and death. And can snap lesser men in half like a twig. Grandchildren? Much of the same.

So obviously, he shall become... Supportive. A loving grandfather.

Why? Because he has no standards for them! They are but a pleasant suprise. The bloodline MIGHT be useful. Eventually. But for now? Charm champaign.

False Corpse and Supposed Defilings of a Collegue and Child

So, we all love misunderstandings and miscommunication. Obviously. So, Danny's ghost form is very much frozen at 14, and he is working with the Justice League on the basis of Ghostly MattersTM. He was able to make a duplicate of himself for class because he had to help the League with a very important matter with guidance from Vlad, but it was very much rushed and just outright died at the end after it got back.

So Vlad has to bury it, but someone sees him doing that. Anyone, really. Dash, Lancer, Val, someone not in the know. And Danny isn't seen for a while. The League do not think Danny is an immortal God, and "know" he's a dead trans boy from Illinois who wants to save people.

He makes offhand remarks about Vlad, and even if the two of them are on good terms now Vlad's actions seem outright despicable without context. Danny's used to Vlad's ridiculousness so he doesn't see him in that light and can't really conceptualize that it could even be considered.

"You know how it was, obsessed with me and my mom, despised my dad. Said I took after her."

"Oh you know, he made a daughter with me, not that I had a choice in it. I love her with all my heart, though."

"Yeah, he was a real fruitloop. Ranting about I would be his and all that."

This is very much concerning so the League, so they investigate, and the person who saw lets it slip. They also do spot Ellie, and she just chats with Danny's work friends she heard so much about. Doesn't outright say she talks with Danny still, or she knows him presently. Says how much she loves her papa, and hasn't seen her dad in forever. (A collective wince from the JL since, well, said dad is dead.) Mentions how Vlad's a bit stressed, probably from DalvCO contracts. They also see Vlad acting so goody goody with the Fentons, take that as you will.

Valerie lifted her coffee cup to her lips mechanically only to sigh when nothing flowed through. This was the third cup of the day and she still felt ready to pass out.

She once again repeated to herself that this was for the greater good. 

“Valerie.” She could hear Vladimir Masters call.

For the greater good she reminded herself. Pasting a smile on her face, Valerie walked back to the hotel’s sofa where her employer was waiting. 

“Yes, Mr. Masters?”

“Get me some food. The plane’s meal was disgusting.”

“Right away, Mr. Masters.”

In moments like these she couldn’t help but wonder if this was really the only way to take Vlad down. Working as a personal assistant to find some non-ghost related dirt on the millionaire sounded thrilling in theory, but the practice was proving to be a nightmare.

She asked the lady at the front desk for some appetizers which arrived promptly. And after only a few minutes more of waiting the receptionist announced their rooms were ready.

"I have a brunch tomorrow with Robert, so tell the front desk to make a wake-up call for 8." Vlad said as they stepped into the elevator. "Also, call ahead at the store, you know the one, and make sure they have the cherimoya liqueur I ordered. Don't forget the flowers for Robert's wife."

"Yes, sir."

Vlad stepped off the elevator before turning towards her with a regretful face. "I cannot apologize enough for having to put you up in the Hamptons, there were just no more rooms here."

As if. This was clearly another way of showing off his money and power.

"It's no problem at all, Mr. Masters," said Valerie with a bright smile, playing dumb.

"I know the Hamptons is a ways away from the Orchards, but I'll still ask that you be here by 8:30 on the dot."

"Of course, sir. I'll be there!" Valerie said as the elevator closed on Vlad's kindhearted smile.

She was so sick of his benevolent act, especially since he also never missed an opportunity to make masked snide comments in the form of backhand compliments. It would've been chipping at her ego if she wasn't already aware of the absolute trash being that Vlad was and how little his opinion mattered.

She got her phone out to check where the Hamptons Hotel was and asked the front desk to call a taxi. As it dropped her off in front of a fairly old, but decent building, Valerie finally let out a sigh at the idea of getting to fall in bed soon. She checked in, took a shower and undid her luggage and by the time she was done, hunger was beating out exhaustion.

So, with a weary groan, she stoop up once again. Grabbing her handbag, she made sure her Fenton thermos and blasters were in it, just in case. With her phone and wallet, she stepped outside in search of food. She soon spotted a hotdog vendor and scarfed one down on one of Grant Park's bench. Valerie was sitting, comfortably full, watching the wind rustle the leaves on the tree when a flash of familiar green caught her eye.

In front of her was Cujo, wagging his tail at full tilt and his tongue sticking out.

"Shit," she uttered, before quickly looking around to make sure there was no one close enough to witness the green glowing dog. "Come here Cujo," she coaxed as she slowly dropped her hand in her bag to grab the thermos.

The dog let out a high-pitched yip, before taking a few steps in her direction. "Good boy," Valerie said. "Just a little closer, ok? Can you do that for me?"

Cujo took another step and she closed her hand on the thermos. Just as she was about to whip it out, there was a loud noise and the dog startled and in a second, he had already turned tail and started running away.

"No! Cujo, heel!" Valerie yelled, but it was no use. With a curse she set out after him, hoping that the dog wouldn't leave the park as it offered some sort of cover.

Judging by the absence of screams, Valerie was assuming nobody had seen him yet, but as this was Gotham, you never really knew. She managed to gain a bit on the dog when he started slowing down by one of the park benches, sniffing at one leg. She slowed down and got the thermos out ready to uncap it. Unfortunately, the dog probably had sniffed her out somehow because he turned to her, barked once and turned invisible. Luckily for Valerie, he was still tangible and still leaving imprints in the grass, so she took off after him following the imprints.

The game of cat and mouse lasted for a good ten minutes, and Cujo led them out of the park and up to the waterfront where she could only look on as the fading in-and-out-of-view dog started running on the water in the direction of the Narrows. Looking around desperately, Valerie spotted a bridge's entranceway about 500 feet away. She ran for it and started down the path, all the while keeping an eye on her right for a flash of green. Time passed and Valerie could feel a stitch starting in her side, but she finally made it to the other side, just in time to see Cujo step on land too. She was less than 100 feet from him, so she started running at full speed. He took a turn and Valerie was about to do the same when she collided hard with someone.

She fell back heavily on the ground and the thermos rolled away. As she lay there, trying to catch her breathe, she heard the person she'd barrelled in groan. Suddenly, super-aware she'd just charged right at someone at full speed, she rolled to her knees with a wince before turning towards them.

"I am so sorry!" Valerie said to the fallen form. "I wasn't looking where I was going, this is completely on me."

The person sat up and something in the back of Valerie's brain gave an appreciative hum. Then shaking it off, she got to her feet and offered a hand to the other girl.

"I'm Valerie, I am so sorry about this."

The girl squinted a bit, before taking the hand and pulling herself up. "I'm Harper," she said. "You really know how to knock a girl off her feet."

Valerie blushed "Oh, um, yes? I try not to do it very often."

"So, what you're saying is I'm special?" Harper said with a teasing smile, which had Valerie's blush worsening. "So, where were you running to so fast?"

"My friend's dog got loose" Valerie sighed, the colour in her cheeks dying out a bit as she picked up the thermos. "I saw him turn on this street, but I don't know where he went."

"That really sucks," Harper said with a frown. Then, her expression cleared up and she continued. "You know what, how about I give you a hand? I live here, so I know the area pretty well."

"Oh, no, you really don't have to," Valerie tried to refuse, not wanting Harper to see the glowing green dog.

"I insist," the other girl said with a winsome smile.

Valerie felt torn. She didn't want to be rude because on one hand there were no good reasons to turn down the offer, but on the other she really did not want the cute girl to see Cujo. As if to help her out of the dilemma, Harper's phone rang.

She took it out if her pocket and put it to her ear. "Hello? Oh, hey Cullen. Yeah, I'm on my way. What? You mean, right now? Yeah, ok, I'll be there right away."

She turned back towards Valerie with a regretful face. "I am so sorry, my brother needs me back right now."

"It's ok," Valerie reassured, feeling a mix of relieved and disappointed. "It's not the first time Cujo has run off, I'm pretty used to it."

Harper looked at her for a moment, before she took out a pen and a piece of paper out of her own bag and scribbled something on it.

"Here," she said. "It's my number. If anything happens, please don't hesitate to call me. The Narrows can get pretty dangerous, especially at night."

Valerie took the paper and put it in her bag.

"Thanks, I'll keep it in mind," Valerie said before turning towards the other girl. "See you around Harper," she said with a smile.

"See you around Valerie," the other girl answered with a smile of her own. She waved goodbye and started walking the way Valerie had come.

Valerie let herself look at her departing figure for a moment, before shaking herself out of it. Right. She had to find Cujo before he could be seen by any civilians. Or worse, any of the bats.

Dc x Dp Prompt #2

Danny loved his life. After his reveal to Jack and Maddie as a half ghost went right, everything started falling into place.

Vlad stopped his insane schemes once his parents were set loose on him. Sure he’s still mayor but he funds the town, keeps them protected from unwanted visitors, and is no longer trying to kidnap/adopt/clone Danny anymore.

Speaking of clones, Ellie was officially adopted into the family. She didn’t live with them full time with her obsession being freedom, but at least she has a home to return to now.

Dan was also adopted into the family. He is still on probation but turns out having their adopted family again (and as many ghost fruits as he wants) helped ease the rage. That’s not to mention Dan’s and Skulker’s bi-weekly figh- errr meetups.

Well at least there’s been no property destruction since he’s been crowned. After he and his rogues began scheduling their own meetups, his grades started going up again. So while he may never become an astronaut like he always dreamed of, he could still go up to space and see the stars whenever he wanted to.

Sure, being king wasn’t exactly what he wanted in life (or death) but he could protect his ghosts and liminals better this way. And considering his entire town is either ghost or liminal, it was just easier to protect them from the GIW and the government in general with a crown on his head.

Besides being king isn’t all bad either. He’s rich now meaning they won’t be racked up in college debt, he has cool artifacts that were gifted to the ghost king over the millennia that were left untouched but he’s not about to return them (they were gifts to the ghost king, practically funeral gifts like flowers but more rare and expensive), and he has crazy powerful Ancients as friends/family/mentors/protectors. He’s still a baby in ghost years and a minor in human years so he’s not expected to do much either way.

Life was going great, especially after Amity Park adopted ghost etiquette and ecto-infused food and beverages.

So why the Ancients are the Justice League of all people standing outside his front door with the Batman looking thoroughly freaked out the moment he opened the door? He hasn’t said anything yet either!! Stupid fucking government heroes.

....this publisher has never been in the same room with D/s players, have they? Because Vlad being the delightful mess he is with a super repressed praise kink that immediately incapacitated him the precise second Nathan was nice to him is the actual textbook definition of relatable.

I know trad-pub's gotten a little more liberal with regards to fandom over the last few years (they had to because of all the stellar authors who came up through fandom to become professionally published), but I still have plenty of trad-pub friends who were told to disengage with fandom entirely because it was seen as too risky.

And, like, can you imagine if I'd been desperate enough and sold Phangs to my old publisher, made all the (catastrophic) changes they wanted, and then they told me I couldn't engage in fandom anymore?

Like sorry, but there's no off-switch for this brain. If I don't get to say the random shit that comes into my brain whenever I feel like it, I will go insane, and that is a threat. All this energy has to go somewhere.

There's a scene where Danny transforms back to human after being only Phantom for a while and he gets hit with gender dysphoria and being human dysphoria at the same time, oof.

Stalking Astronauts: Gotham's Latest Social Media Craze! by @tachvintlogic || 54k Complete multi-chap. This is a really interesting twist on the usual DPxDC adoption trope where Danny is afraid of being adopted, and he doesn't need to be because he's an adult and a successful astronaut. Unfortunately because of his facial masculinization surgery, everyone thinks he looks a Wayne.

Barely Surviving in a World Antithetical to My Existence by DomesticatedOpossum and Vampirenote13 || 67k Incomplete multi-chap. Danny gets isekaied to Gotham and helped by Constantine and the bats eventually. I like that both Danny and Tim are trans in this.

I've seen posts about John Constantine dating Vlad Masters/Plasmius, much to the disgust of the Ghost Zone generally and Danny specifically. And I can see this happening because John Constantine, chaotic disaster bi gutter wizard extraordinaire, is also an accomplished monsterfucker and would 100% be down to get down with a half ghost. Man's been with King Shark (excellent material to seach on AO3 btw 😳) he's not gonna flinch at Vlad, even if it is weird that he has the same last name as his sister's husband.

HOWEVER. Despite being a shitty gutter wizard with a bad habit of getting his associates gruesomely killed and therefore tries not to have associates, Constantine does have a soft spot for kids. He doesn't like when things disguise themselves as kids, he doesn't like when things hurt kids. Number one most reliable way to get John Constantine to stick his neck out? Endanger a child where he can see.

So when John finds out what Vlad has done to a literal fourteen year old child? And that he tried to outright kill the clone kid? NOPE. It is OVER, and Vlad gets to find out exactly how and why this shitty gutter wizard got such a badass name as Hellblazer.

Chapter 6: Flooded and Shut-Out Memories

Dante stopped talking for a moment, something wasn't right.... He needs to find Danny quickly, Dante wandered around the Gala Venue and he couldn't seem to find Danny.

Dante hid in the men's restroom for a moment and then in the mirror of the bathroom a sticky note remained plastered, a bright neon green he will always never not recognize.

Dante took the Note with haste and read the words written, it made him furrow his brows in worry and anger, his eyes flashing a bright neon green with red rimmings.

"It's all for Daniel's Happiness....."

"Fucking Clockwork- that BI-..." Dante held back his anger and crumpled the note before stuffing it deep in his pocket, he tries to change his face expression as to not make anyone get scared because Danny wouldn't have wanted that.

Dante stared at himself in the mirror slowly calming down, his hair's flames slowly turning back to normal hair and his eyes slowly fading down to a normal green. Dante fixes his tie as he walks out of the restroom, furious that he even let Danny walk away from him. His hand balls into a fist as he walks around both calmly but hastily, he found Vlad who was chattering around some other rich influential people.

Vlad glances at Dante and Dante gave him The Look which in turn made Vlad excuse himself promptly away from the crowd, he carries Ellie gently away from the table of treats.

"What is it? Where is Daniel?" Vlad asks with worry laced in his voice, although subtle he is still very worried. " I can't find him, use the tiny pink Badger to find him." Dante stated bluntly as he pulled out Clockwork's Note, "the Bastard who's Bitch is Time sent this." Dante handed the note to Vlad, Vlad read it slowly and blinking to backtrack what he just read before realizing what clockwork possibly meant.

"Ellie, Princess, will you find Daniel for us?" Vlad kneels down to Ellie's height, Ellie nodded and giggled before running off as soon as she was told a 'favor'.

Dante and Vlad nodded at each other before Following Ellie's little tiny running steps, Danny was infact in the other side of the hall chatting away with Damian Wayne who Vlad told not to interact with but oh well too late for that now.

"Danie—" Vlad was about to speak out to call for Danny but then.

A gas canister seemingly fell out of the higher floor right near Danny. Damian out of Reflex upon seeing a gas canister immediately wrapped his hand's around Danny and jumped back as it promptly blew up, green gas leaked into the room sending everyone in the perimeters In a panic, the three half dead ghosts reflexively stopped breathing. But Danny isn't used to that yet so he covered his nose as Damian literally tries to run through the crowd with Danny to get him to safety.

But more gas canisters fell, surrounding them as each of them exploded one by one releasing even more gas.

Most of everyone was prepared as they brought an emergency gas mask, Danny does not have one.

Vlad and the 2 pink Badgers were given gas Masks even tho they don't need it, but they continued their search for Danny, hoping to find him in the crowd.

Ellie was floating and invisible trying to find Danny, She wasn't so successful as the gas clouded her vision rendering her completely unable to find him. Danny on the other hand was with Damian.

"Put this On" Damian tries to convince Danny to put on the gas mask. "But that's your only one! I'll be fine!" Danny just pushes the gas mask back at Damian's Face.

Damian needed to get Danny to wear the mask immediately as the gas was closing in fast. But Danny suddenly grabs the mask and puts it in Damian's Face And Clamped it down as the Gas closes in on them.

"Danny-" Damian was stunned as Danny's eyes flashed a neon green, Danny was also stunned. His human heart beating unevenly at a fast pace, Danny gasps for air inhaling more of the gas as Damian tries to get him out of the gas.

Danny's mind was foggy, he saw Damian holding him... Is it Damian— he doesn't... Remember....

Danny could hear the beating of his heart through his ears, it was loud and impending as if it was beating for the last time, Danny's mind slowly fogged with memories.

Memories of his death, he looks up trying to tell Damian he's hurt but all he sees Infront of him was the portal.

The portal his parents had made and had not yet been opened, he stared at his hands, he was wearing black gloves and he hears Sam and Tucker telling him to be careful going inside.

He felt his body...? No. Soul move towards the portal, No. 'I don't... I don't wanna go. please... It hurts..' Danny thought as he tried to pull himself away from the portal but he just wouldn't budge.

And then.

He tripped and heard a click as he stumbled down and pressed himself on the wall to not faceplant.

For a moment he looked up and all he saw was Green.

Everything.

Everything hurts.

The voltage running through his veins.

His blood.

The ectoplasm seeping in his DNA slowly fusing itself with each other to try and keep him all alive.

Yet somehow being alive hurts more than being dead.

It hurts.

He heard tucker and Sam yell out his name, he felt his skin burn but their gentle touch on his body as well, he felt the tears dropping in his face coming from his friends as the voltage continued to run through his delicate body.

He heard jazz Crying out his name trying to wake him up, the worry in her voice felt drowning but comforting at the same time, he felt her hug his body despite not seeing it.

It was warm... Unlike his own.. unlike his flesh and bones.

He is a a child who did not deserve to feel such pain.

Danny Screamed from the top of his lungs, Damian was taken aback.

"H-HEY!" He tried to calm Danny down but Danny kept screaming, curling up and gripping on his shoulders and anything in his body he could touch, it was as if he's in immense physical pain that Damian could not understand.

Damian got Danny out of the crowded and Gas filled Halls and Trying to snap Danny out of his fearful trance, Danny's scream slowly became irregular in tone as if he's phasing in and out of reality.

Danny scratches on his body and suit arching himself as he screamed in pain, his eyes flashing green to blue and a white pair of rings appear on his body, slightly phasing in and out as well his appearance inverting everytime it does.

"Damian!" Bruce called out in worry as he heard the screams coming from Danny.

"Father!" Damian called out, his face contorted to a mix of worry and fear in itself as Danny continued to cry out..Tears were rolling down Danny's cheeks as Damian clutched him in his arms trying to prevent him from hurting himself even further.

"I think... He's a meta and the fear gas is doing something to him!" Damian said as Danny Slowly Calmed his body, exhausted and losing consciousness.

His body completely shut down due to the memories his brain is trying to shut out. Damian ca korried Danny out of the gala and into the outside of the venue where He saw the 'Masters' running to them with haste.

Damian was scared... For the first time in so long in his life he was scared for someone else, Danny's heart has slowed down in a rare that's not normal for a human being. His body was cold and it's almost as if he's not breathing at all.

"DANNY!" Dante Jamie Masters called out as he ran to them. Damian almost stepped back as Dante took Danny gently yet also unexpectedly from his arms. It was odd. Dante didn't have a mask but he was obviously submerged within the gas along with the other 'Masters' yet there were completely unaffected by the Gas.

The police arrived shortly after and restraining in everyone who was affected by the gas, Dante stayed by Danny's side embracing him both gently and tightly holding back the tears that are on the edge of his eyes.

Ellie stayed by his side too holding Danny's other hand as he remained unconscious, yet his body twitching partially due to the shock and the effect of the ectoplasm and the fear toxin trying to fight each other and due to his body phasing in and out of life and death.

It hurt him, Dante knew it.

Dante knew that it hurt Danny so much... And he wasn't able to prevent it this time, But next time he will.

He swears to god he will prevent it next time, he swears to his soul that he will prevent it.

Robin and Batman arrived at the scene and Robin immediately ran to Dante and Danny.

"Is he okay? W-we can take him to the hospita—" Damian stopped speaking as soon as he saw the three flinch when they heard the word "Hospital".

"N-No... No hospitals please... He doesn't like it..." The little Ellie says, Robin looks at Batman who was still talking to the cops as Scarecrows failed attempt to invade the gala was overthrown by a single mistake of a canister falling.

He was arrested once again and soon to be back in the Arkham Asylum. Despite that it still made Robin furious.

He turns his head back at the trio but before he could speak he was interrupted by none other than Vlad Masters.

"Please do not worry, Robin. We have... A personal Doctor that Daniel Trusts in our home. I promise you he will be in utmost care." Vlad says, his voice filled with worry but also wariness.

He stared at Robin as if he was a suspicious entity, or something. Someone to not be trusted too much.

Robin could only nod but felt Someone touch his hand.

It was the little girl, Ellie.

Ellie puts a pink star sticker in his glove right above the Aries Star Constellation Sticker Danny had put.

"For your comforts- maybe.. I don't know! But... Danny says to put stickers on people who are doing a good job." Ellie smiles gently, although she was wary of Robin she still had the guts to walk up to him and put the sticker on his hand.

Robin was merely stunned but quickly got back to his senses and pats Ellie's head gently. It's as if these siblings brought out a soft side to him that he never even knew existed.

Nocturne was only contacted by none other than Clockwork himself as preparation for when Danny enters a state of mind where he cannot force himself to wake up essentially forcing his physical body to... rest.

Although the way Clockwork does his stuff for his so called "Dear Grandson" is not very much commendable, it's still a way he supposes. Truly not the best but there's always a worst for anything.

"Nocturne...?" Danny's voice was soft, broken even, it made nocturne's core wrench but he kept his good mysterious smile and slowly approached Danny but Danny stood up and embraced him.

Nocturne merely embraced him back as gently as he could.

"𝕀 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕤𝕦𝕡𝕡𝕠𝕤𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕓𝕖 𝕤𝕔𝕒𝕣𝕪, 𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕥𝕝𝕖 ℙ𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕠𝕞." Nocturne replied with a small chuckle, he's annoyed at himself for having slowly finding favor in the ghost child but not that he hates it and neither can he go back to the way he did before.

"I'm sorry... I'm just.... So scared.." the little Phantom sobbed in his arms, Still wearing his tiny aurora borealis looking ice crown.

Nocturne chuckled and pressed Danny's Nose.

"𝕀𝕥'𝕤 𝕒𝕝𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕥𝕝𝕖 ℙ𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕠𝕞, 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕚𝕤 𝕟𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕔𝕒𝕟 𝕕𝕠 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕚𝕥." Nocturne smiled wider and ruffles his hair gently and pressed his forehead subtly against Danny's.

Danny just nodded and buried his face in his chest as he slowly fell asleep in nocturne's arms.

Nocturne then slowly placed his head in his lap and caresses his hair gently letting him sleep and rest peacefully without the nightmares for now.
