i don't have many triggers, but just in case: irl politics (the palestine situation is not political. it is a genocide, through and through.), scorpions, and fingernail horror. i tag my triggers as 'x tw'. this is a very trigger heavy blog, and i try and keep everything tagged accordingly.

Nobody would ever consider Miles an angry person - much less Miles himself. Not in the sense that he never has been, or that he's a push-over, he just never had a temper on him. When faced with vitriol thrown his way, he meets it with a shrug and a quip, or works to diffuse it, or some mix of the two. His patience could usually withstand a category 5 hurricane.

And yet.

In the face of those simple words, from Peter of all people, after everything he'd been through in what was absolutely the fucking worst two days of his life? Hell, the worst year and half of his life?

Miles swears he feels something snap inside him; can practically see the spiky little sound effect bubble pop up near his head.

"Uh, of course it escaped my notice," the teen spits out, his teeth grinding, "How the hell'm I supposed to believe shit you say? You- all of you- were tooootally down with just- just abandoning me."

He can feel it, the way his friends' their pitying, wide eyes bore into him, some with their hands raised like they're placating a wild animal; no doubt thinking him pathetic, or childish, or unfounded in his rage.

But what else is he supposed to feel? His dimension, his home is wrecked, his life nearly ruined by some creepy guy turned cosmic flaw. A rabid vampire-y guy chased and throttled him to shit and nobody helped. He nearly died while stranded in the wrong dimension, all as his father was in imminent danger. And they didn't care. They were complacent in it.

All because of one self-important man with a stupid, half-baked theory with more holes than Swiss cheese convinced them it was for the greater good.

And now they have the sheer, unmitigated gall to think that saving him at the last possible second and having a fucking heart to heart after Miles about fucking killed himself after the battle will make it up to him?

Fuck. That.

He's not that awkward, people-pleasing middleschooler they met so long ago, who would've done anything, put up with anything, just to be accepted. To feel less alone.

He died a long time ago.

They don't get to wash their hands of guilt so easily now. Not now that Miles is older, wisened, traumatized by time and experience and long nights crying and almost throwing his entire life's dream away for them only to realize he wasn't even a blip in their goddamn minds.

Miles has to physically swallow down the bile creeping up his throat.

"I can sorta, sorta get why you two-" he gestures at Gwen and Peni with his non-shredded-by-Miguel arm, "would go along with it, that guy's scary as hell, probably said allll the right things to you at the worst times of your lives."

They wince. Good.

"But you? You, Peter?"

He despises himself for the way his voice wavers as he shouts. The last thing he needs is to start angry-crying; make himself look more like a dumb kid.

"You never, ever thought for a single moment that, yannow, dooming countless people to die if that batshit theory were right, fucking helping it happen, was kinda sorta seriously fucked up?"

(In the corner of his eye, he sees 42-him's mouth twitch. He can't help but feel indignant for him too; this whole time the Society O'hara's band of sheep could've helped him, but they chose not to. Let his dimension go to shit because of that stupid fucking Canon.)

"And then you decide to be all buddy-buddy with me now? 'Cause of what, guilt? Some weird complex? Nuh uh, no way, I am not letting you just- just get away with this shit. You're the grown adult, why'd you never act like it?"

Sure, maybe it's getting personal now, the memories of the way the original group talked shit about him literally directly behind his back; forcing every single complicated feeling he had for them out into the air that he never allowed himself to feel back when he was a lonely kid who just missed their presence.

But... this all goes to show they never believed in him. Not once. It's not a hard leap to go from dumb-kid-who-can't-be-trusted to anomaly-that-can't-be-contacted.

Maybe Miles isn't thinking totally straight. He's angry, he's hurting, and he's tired - physically and emotionally. Tired of having to prove himself his whole life. Of being expected to be 'mature' and the bigger person even when everything screws him over. Of continually having to prove himself to grown adults who refuse to see past their noses until forced to.

Like Miguel. Like Peter.

A shaky breath. Clenched, trembling hands. "Why wasn't I worth it?"

OC/Spider-Sona Backstory: The Widow

Maitreyi Jokhar (she/her), Earth-20262, Present day, Spider-man/Black Widow variant

Part 1!

I'm planning on making this a series instead of one extremely long post, so her entire backstory up to her introduction to the Spider Society is probably going to be around two to three parts depending on how in-depth I decide to make it! Let me know if you have any feedback on my writing style or how I can make her as accurate as possible <3

Backstory & Powers:

Born in Andrapradesh, South India, she was kidnapped from her family at the age of 5 years old and never saw them again. Forced into a human-trafficking scheme, she was eventually taken into the Red Room program, better known as the Black Widow program, the same program that the MCU Black Widow was a part of before working for S.H.I.E.L.D. In this universe, the Red Room Program is an extension of H.Y.D.R.A., a Russian spy organization. From the ages of 7-14, she was trained alongside hundreds of other child soldiers to fight, kill and engage in acts of espionage and sabotage, eventually to join the army of mind-controlled Black Widows the Red Room program produced.

When she turned 15, she, along with 9 other young teenage girls, were chosen for H.Y.D.R.A's new adaptation program, where they experimented on some of their best soldiers/recruits to create a new kind of Super-soldier, after their hundreds of failed attempts to replicate the same serum used on Red Skull during WWII. Each girl experienced a different experiment, some being injected with powerful steroids, others having their DNA spliced and combined with others, etc... Understandably, none of these experiments worked. Except for one.

Maitreyi was placed into a leather chair and strapped down, quickly being injected with multiple paralyzers before being told to close her eyes and relax her arm. Doctor Hans Zola, grandson of Doctor Arnim Zola (Arnim Zola worked for the Nazis during WWII, which could be seen in the first Captain America movie), proceeded to inject her with a serum derived from the venom of a radioactive black widow spider, whom's DNA he had spent months perfecting to be able to link to hers accurately. 24 hours later, the process was completed and H.Y.D.R.A. had successfully created a super-soldier. However, this super-soldier wasn't the same kind as what they'd made during WWII with Red Skull.

Maitreyi did receive similar, but not the same abilities as the average Spider-person. She was unable to produce enough web for the daily, so she would use it limitedly, and only if completely necessary. She was flexible, fast and even acrobatic, as a result of years of Red Room training, but she did not gain the abilities of super-strength. She had to hone her strength herself after assimilating to the injection, through more time being trained by H.Y.D.R.A.'s best agents, specifically employed to morph Maitreyi into a super-weapon. One ability which was extremely beneficial for her future endeavors was her newfound intelligence and instincts. After being injected, she was able to better respond to threats, through enhanced reflexes (Spider-sense) and found that her problem-solving skills, especially those mechanical related (robots, machines, gizmos, etc...) were also amplified.

Only a few weeks later, she met Alexander Pierce. The man who took over Hydra after Red Skull's death. The man who's idea it was to turn her into a weapon. The man who was going to use her brainwashed, inhuman self to murder his own enemies until she was either captured or dead.

The missions started off small. Assassinating political leaders of minuscule movements in insignificant cities and towns. Kidnapping the children of runaway H.Y.D.R.A agents, destroying their lives, sparking fear into the hearts of the organization's enemies and even their allies. It wasn't until a few months later that Pierce sent her to the United States. He didn't disclose why she was going there. The only thing she had been given was a picture of an older man with an eye patch who Pierce claimed had something that "belonged to him." He told her that her job was to kill him. Not having a choice, not knowing that there was any other option besides compliance, she obliged. She wasn't even 16 years old.

How long had it been since then? Days? Weeks? Between helping practically rebuild Brooklyn from the mess the Spot (and the Society) turned it to, and the torrent of too complicated, too messy feelings the aftermath bogging him down to his very bone, time sort of... blended together. One day bleeding into the next until suddenly it's fall and the gloom in the air matches the way he feels.

Not helping that Miles had made the decision to just...

Disappear.

Really. Miguel may have given him a watch (which was probably the most of an apology he was ever going to get), allowing him into the Society, but it's still glaringly obvious that he just doesn't belong.

Not amongst these heroes who gladly chased and nearly mauled a child under nothing but their leader's vague orders. Not with the people he thought were his friends, with their sad looks and their guilt so oppressive Miles could choke on it.

(Seriously. One can only handle so many awkward attempts at a heart-to-heart.)

So Miles would do the work Miguel assigns, fill out the mission reports, try to choke down the way his Spider-Sense screams danger danger danger around the man's presence, and then leave, his presence little more than a wraith; ignoring anyone who tries to talk at him, ask how he's doing, try to offer their soggy, awkward apologies or condolences or pity.

He doesn't need all that. Or them. Or anyone at all. And he thought he made that abundantly clear earlier, but evidently not.

It's a testament to how worn he is that he doesn't even find the effort in himself to get properly annoyed when Peter finds him at the end of one such mission, with that same soft, soggy, squitchy, sad-ass look; like Miles is standing on the edge of a cliff, ready to jump.

That'd be a stupid idea anyways. He's pretty sure his Spider-Sense would force him to save himself if he ever tried, no matter how badly he'd want it.

"Why don't you talk to me anymore?" the older man asks. God knows the amount of cognitive dissonance must be in effect to make him to ignore Miles's clear bristling around him.

Still. For the sake of getting him off his ass.

"What do you want me to say?" he replies. "Just say, 'nah, forget 'bout the ways you fucked me over, we're friends now'? I'm not stupid."

In spite of the harsh words, the tone barely comes across as that.

(he sounds like a child. A child who's been hurt in ways no adult should go through; trying and failing to hold it together for too long.)

He sighs, what little energy he had at the start of this interaction thoroughly drained out of him.

"Look, I get you feel bad," (in spite of himself, he can't quite control the faint irritated curl that briefly pulls at his top lip at those two words) "but I just... can't be around you guys right now."

ENTER THE SPIDERVERSE

Alchemax of Earth-1610 created a super collider that could open a gateway to other universes. It was a disaster that nearly destroyed that universe, and the ripple effects from it are causing entities known as anomalies to appear in other universes. Spider-man 2099 put together a taskforce called the Spider Society to manage these anomalies and maintain order in the multiverse. His methods may be... questionable at times, but surely he's got good reasons for it.

Various spiders from across the multiverse have been gathered to help, and there's a place for them all to co-exist, with technology that prevents them from getting hurt by being in other universes. Well, this is going to get chaotic quickly.

This is an RP server that takes place before the events of Across the Spiderverse currently. After the release of Beyond the Spiderverse the plot may be altered to reflect the events of those movies. With how up in the air everything is, this is the best compromise for the time being. That being said, this server will contain spoilers for Across the Spiderverse, so if you have yet to see the movie you should do so before proceeding with this server.

Canon characters shown in the movies are given on a first come, first serve basis, though given the multiverse there's no reason why slightly different variants of the same character can't exist. As an aside, your character doesn't necessarily have to be a spider. As long as they are relevant in some way, they're fine. Crossovers are allowed! Relevancy can just be wanting to see how certain characters will interact.
