RFA + Saeran and MC on a snow day

so where i live it does not snow often. it gets cold but we don’t usually get enough moisture to get snow. so as much as i would love do do more snow activities tis but a futile dream. maybe when i move. i don’t know. point is i don’t know much about snow day activities so a lot of activities are repeated but hopefully each character is different enough for everyone to enjoy.

oh also so I changed my ask box so y’all know i do take requests for mysme writing. my only current rules are that I don’t write for V and NSFW stuff will be kept vauge. oh but i do LOVE writing for jumin so def hit me up if you got anything for him.

Jumin

He spends it learning about what other people do on snow days so it’s a little bit of everything

- You know this man has a real fireplace because that is classy and cozy (at least I think so)

- Imagine sitting on the floor across from Jumin with Elizabeth between you two

- Your take turns teasing her with toys as she jumps and plays towards one of you then the other

- When you do go out you’re in super warm clothes and even then he’ll have his arms around you to keep you close and warm next to him

- He is not prepared when you pull away from him to run through the snow like a child but he chuckles watching you practically frolic

- Until he see’s you tumble into a pile of snow and rushes to help you out

- But when he gets there your giggling like a mad woman and you pull him down to kiss him in the snow

- “have some fun with me MR. Han”

- “if you insist MRS. Han”

- You show him all the commoner Snow day activities

- Snow angels, snow men, snow ice cream, maple syrup snow candy

- At the end of the day your curled against him in a big armchair by the fires he’s reading to you while you both warm up

Yoosung

His day is all about fun fair play with intermittent kisses and cuddles he’s just happy to be with you

- This boy may not have a fireplace but just imagine curling up with him under a heated blanket

- Also he loves snowball fights. He goes all out building himself a snow wall to hide behind and creating a war cry before popping up to pelt you with snowballs

- You sneak around and tackle him into the snow peppering his whole face with kisses

- Y’all try to build an igloo

- Y’all fail to build an igloo

- You build an entire family of snowmen to live in your collapsed igloo

- You and he name each snow man and even try to make them a little snow meal

- Then you start sneezing and he notices how red your nose and cheeks are from the cold

- He rubs your hands in his and breaths on them to warm your finger

- Eskimo kisses while sipping hot chocolate

- This boy makes the absolute best hot chocolate complete with whip cream and red and green Christmas sprinkles

- you put your cold hands on his face hot blushing face and laugh when he lurches backwards its less fun when he does the same

Saeyoung

he might take the snow fun a bit too far. But hey you both had fun so it’s cool right?

- he didn’t know it was snowing until you dropped a half melted snowball on his head while he works

- he makes a freaking snowball machine gun, his cat robot fights by his side

- you are out numbered and out gunned but he refuses your surrender you are now a prisoner of snowball war

- he DID make an igloo (for snowball war prisoners) and you and him bring blankets and watch movies on his laptop while all cuddled up together

- igloo make outs, until Saeran comes to check on you two

- not only does he stumble into some ridiculous booby trap Saeyoung made

- but when he finally makes it through you guys are making out and he tells you two to get a room

- “we have a room! I built it myself!”

- Saeran calls Saeyoung an idiot but does tell you to come inside before you catch a cold

- You make you and Saeran tea, Saeyoung tries hot DR. Pepper (spoiler alert it’s not good)

- You make soup for everyone and you all have a movie night

Zen

Romance. He will romance the pants off you. quite literally. It wasn’t his plan but he’s not complaining.

- Boy legit does not get cold so he lends you his coat

- But it’s so big on you, like floppy sleeves and knee length big. He thinks it’s so cute.

- And then your nose and cheeks all flushed from the cold.

- He’s dead, you killed him. Zen doesn’t live in that body anymore, now only the beast remains.

- He’s afraid you’ll catch a cold so he keeps you inside the rest of the time

- you and he absolutely go sledding (he’s not gonna miss a chance to hold you that tight against him)

- it’s hard to control himself when y’all tumble over each other at the bottom of the hill and he ends up laughing on top of you

- you nose scrunched with your laughter at the crash and pillowey snow around you

- he sings you “walking in a winter wonderland” as you two get take out from a nearby restaurant

- hot showers (interpret that HOWEVER you want wink wonk) to help you both warm up

Jaehee

its cozy and warm and peaceful. You spend most of it in shelter watching the snow fall from inside.

- snow days are actually really good for y’alls business because everyone wants hot drinks when its cold out

- she bundles the heck up. Coat gloves scarf hat boots earmuffs hat all of it

- she looks so cute all bundled up you just have to kiss her nose

- after the café crowd dies down you make her a drink and you two sit letting the drinks warm your hands as you watch the snow outside fall

- she gasps. You know what would be perfect for cold weather like this? molten lava cake!

- You gasp. You know what would go perfectly with that? fresh snow ice cream

- You both get to work and make what is hands down the best dessert you’ve ever shared

- It won’t work in the café obviously but your both glad you got to enjoy it together

- On your way home you hold her gloved hand and she kisses your cheek

- You spend the night watching DVD’s of Zen’s past Christmas plays

Saeran

It’s all about balance on this day, balance Saeran’s two different sides and balancing him and his brothers sometimes oppositional personalities.

- Hot tea with all his winter flowers (you know he’s planned his garden with flowers that bloom at all different times)

- you and he try to catch snowflakes on your tongues and make snow angles

- he probably gets irrationally angry when something knocks a tree branch and dumps snow on his head

- you calm him down and promise you two can gang up on Saeyoung in a snowball fight

- you two forgot he had a snowball machine gun and end up hiding behind a snow pile

- you call a truce once Saeyoung runs out of ammo and drag Saeran inside so he doesn’t catch a cold

- you make him chicken noodle soup and snuggle with him until he’s warm again

- you hear Saeyoung come in and Saeran tells him that if Saeyoung dares touch him with anything cold he will personally throttle Saeyoung with an icicle

- you hush Saeran gently because that’s not nice besides Saeyoung knows better you say sending a harsh look at a Saeyoung who has a large snowball melting in his hands

- Saeyoung decides that he probably shouldn’t go against you and Saeran together (clever boy)

Marinette’s soft spot for Chat Noir

This is actually a Chat Blanc fic after Adrien starts dating Marinette and learns how she feels about Chat. This is based off the French dub.

Ladybug breaks the news that she is dating her crush to Chat Noir. He is surprisingly gracious about it all. Inside he is all gleeful exuberance and it is all he can do not to dance around Ladybug and shout from the rooftops “Marinette is my Girlfriend!”

When Marinette and Adrien are dating, Adrien wants to give her a nickname so he tries Princess but Marinette is adamant only Chat Noir can call her that. (This was before I saw the English dub)

Adrien learns that Marinette also sleeps with her Chat Noir plushie and she defends herself by saying Chat is her favourite celebrity, after Adrien. Adrien is really happy to hear that.

Then when Adrien plants roses in her locker, Marinette is flattered. But later, Adrien manages to pry from Alya that apparently his competition to charm Marinette is Chat Noir who gave her a romantic surprise he planned for Ladybug. (Alya had been hinting that Adrien needed to up the romantic gestures). Alya also reveals from sleepover gossip, that if Marinette hadn’t fallen for Adrien, she would have shown greater interest in the hero. Adrien is initially happy that Marinette would have chosen his alter ego next instead of Luka.

But when he returns home, Adrien screams into a pillow that his main competition is himself and he can’t even top that.

Ladybug admits to Chat that her friends are surprised that Chat is better at romance than her actual Boyfriend. She worries her boyfriend will be unhappy with her for admitting she finds her partner to be a better romantic. Chat resists the urge to tell her the truth, but he really wants to hit his head on the wall.

Ladybug also confesses that her kwami ships her and Chat but then Tikki also supported her crush on Adrien and Luka. Chat is not sure how to feel that Tikki encouraged Marinette to go after both Chat and Luka.

Adrien comforts Marinette and reassures her worries. He isn’t unhappy. Rather he is motivated to better romance her. But he teases her by asking if he should get her a cat.

Marinette responds she would rather have a hamster.

Adrien beams. “Me too.” We’re so perfect for each other. Sigh.

Unfortunately word has spread about Adrien’s competition, mostly by Lila and Chloe.

When Adrien tackles Marinette to the ground, someone posted a pic of Chat carrying Marinette in his arms.

When Adrien gives Marinette expensive stationary, they actually show a shot of Chat going to the bakery to give Marinette a pink rose before he rejects her. (Adrien mutters he didn’t know her as well then)

Then we have Adrien and Marinette recorded splitting up when an akuma attacks.

Basically every admirer of Adrien agrees that they should break up. While fans of Chat Noir agree that it is a wonder how Ladybug hasn’t fallen for Chat’s charms. He’s so dreamy.

Adrien is not happy about this but feigns doubt to Marinette.

Marinette reassures Adrien she would choose him over Chat because she fell for the boy who gave her his umbrella. Besides, Chat’s flaw was apparently that he boasts and puns too much.

Adrien remembers his time as Aspik and makes a lame joke.

Marinette has the same response. “I love your sense of humour.”

Adrien is not going to look this gift horse in the mouth!

Adrien finally balances out all this hype about Adrien vs Chat Noir by claiming he also had a soft spot for Ladybug. It works.

Pics are also posted of Ladybug carrying Adrien. Marinette gives Adrien her ladybug doll (she can make another one for Manon)

Gabriel, who had been annoyed by the comments that Chat Noir is more charming than his perfect son and had been campaigning on his son’s behalf against his foe, is horrified to know that now his son sleeps with his arch enemy (ok, not technically but you get the idea)

And Adrien finally tops his Glaciator surprise on their one month anniversary (Marinette was surprised he planned for a one-week anniversary. Sure she had planned for that event but Alya told her Adrien would be unnerved by how excited Marinette is about their relationship, so Marinette threw out those plans. Imagine her surprise when Adrien planned a very romantic picnic in the park!). The couple are having a very romantic dinner on a garden rooftop, candles are lit, fairy lights are strung, rose bushes surround them, the meal is exquisite. After the meal, Adrien plays the piano while a waiter reveals a floor covered with rose petals spelling out the words, I LOVE YOU MARINETTE in a rose petal heart. For dessert, André arrives to give them their ice cream with a chocolate lava cake.

Marinette admits this is the best romantic gesture so far. Before, neither Chat Noir nor Evillustrator ever thought of providing for food when they planned out roses, candles and music.

Adrien stills and smiles happily. Inside he is wailing about how he could have forgotten about her date with Evillustrator!

Small July Wins

1 - atikah and racheel came over, oa webinar (rheumatology), duolingo (DL)

2 - they ended up sleeping over, DL, "attended" pak Kus' webinar just becausee hes my skripsi advisor

3 - a page of padi cbt, idai webinar (respiratory disease in covid era), DL

4 - ran 3 laps in my house complex (afterwards my heart was pounding against my chest), hopecardis webinar (arrythmia), DL

5 - 1 ma article (moluskum kontagiosum), perkani webinar (congenital heart disease), DL

6 - DL, idai webinar (pregnancy and newborn stuff in covid era), put sheet mask on lol i neglect my face a lot lately

7 - accompanied juan with mom to perbanas institute for sbmptn, while waiting we went to lucky cat and imeri to get apd, picked up juan, went to social pot (kokas) afterwards, DL. Lucky cat was empty, the vibes of a cafe felt new to me (it surely has been a while). I felt super refreshed. Did some writing for ma article there. Tried salmon and black olive spaghetti, caesar salad, mom drank piccolo. The spaghetti kinda tasted like mi telor but with salmon lol. Talked and laughed plenty with mom :) i rarely talk with her nowadays. Im glad the awkwardness melted away

8 - videocalled with apa salahku for gaby's birthday, zoom for school prep (covid safety stuff), a bit of cbt padi, DL

9 - negative rapid test alhamdulillah, fk digital (kejang anak), cbt padi, DL

10 - some exercise, talked with shiko on zoom, DL, aand since i started padi CBT i finished 2 tryouts (150 questions). It’s not a lot but Im proud of myself :)

11 - went to tj duren with ara, but while we wait the n95 seller we went to citraland, tried fried salmon roll at shigeru, ended up meeting the guy at cl, afterwards we got pisang goreng madu bu nanik, went to rodalink pesanggrahan, ended up getting seirockya at puri, and then i dropped ara off at tj duren. Theeen i went to devis place to hang out and sleepover. Lots of foods. Delicious "lava cake" made from instant brownie mix. Played werewolf. In the morning i managed to finish the pre and post tests in OCI Covid. Happy tummy and laughter :) i hope i can be more productive after this

12 - DL (thank god i freezed streak for weekend because i completely forgout about it yesterday), during sleepover @ devi’s we watched love for sale, a copy of my mind, and love for sale 2. The frustration is real bruh we rly wanted to know more about Arini. Did UKDMA (2 attempts, score: 24, 58), wrote 1 MA article, sorted my downloads folder a bit. After ‘wasting’ (happy times is never a wasted time but still, there’s stuff to do) my time yesterday i felt more urge to do something useful

13 - actually started my day with DL and padi cbt wow (brain still fresh from sleep), CBD about BPPV with dr Widayat. Since ive experienced one before i asked and asked and asked lmaooo. Packed up some of the stuff for tomorrow, hoping to not forget things. Read the journal for litrev before bed

14 - DL, first day of school after a while -- turns out weight distribution is key to avoid sore butt LOL. You kinda have to also support your body weight on your feet. Theres no sore butt at all during my 50 mins trip (amazing feat if you ask me). Went to poli rhinologi (DPJP: dr niken) she kindly gave me a patient to examine, and casually told me to put anterior tampon. I, who have never attempted it, was holding back my fear of trying something new lol. Alhamdulillah, i can somehow do it (even though one tampon fell, tiffany paboooo). The ppds kindly explained stuff to me and i feel like i shamelessly ask nowadays. Like it would be a waste not to ask something. Next was CBD @ Ara’s, we ate Ayam Bakar Mas Walid. Liqo with kak Kartika.

15 - DL, did litrev in the morning bcs i fell asleep lmaoo, tweaked tumblr a bit (i like low contrast the most), fell asleep while watching larynx anatomy video until 1:30 pm yalll i missed half of cbd. Tried to read stuff for poli larfar tomorrow.

16 - DL, ppds i met today lives in poris and worked at puskesmas kalideres lmaoo. Had a bit of headache and gassy stomach that felt better after sleeping and eating. thank god i was picked up by mom and theres food and stuff. i guess the difference of being at home and kosan is that you kinda remember more who youre fighting for. my mind felt healthy-ish lately, of some sort. but the headache made me sluggish

17 - DL, nevermind about the healthy mind part lmaoo

18 - DL, physical activity, padi cbt (after 200 questions i was today years old when i realized there were answer keys on telegram 👁️👄👁️), read optima tht batch 1 2020. Watched khs playing chess blindfolded against try guys and then i was purely amazed by what the human brain can do. It somehow motivated me to study lol

19 - DL, finished optima pem tht batch 1 2020, made 1 cbd ppt, webinar "holistic skin rejuvenation", free mindset tryout

20 - DL, haven’t got minicex but at least im trying to stay hopeful!1!, read the notes from today’s cbd since i basically only heard the whole thing on my motorbike like a podcast, did nasal irrigation n took a slow release vit c

21 - started the day with some stretches and squats, trying to drink more water!!, listened to kak dela's tips for ukmmpd from mindset, DL, read a bit abt epistaxis, the clear wallet i ordered from china finally arrived, edited 1 buku pld article

22 - was in poli onko this morning w ara, a patients consciousness was decreasing so code blue was activated. Finished poli at 1 am. It's been awhile since I last saw emergency situations. Went to maison weiner, ate almond croissant there and bought chocolate sourdough and chicken pie. Despite not getting minicex, the road home was not hot, the sun hidden away. The wind is breezing, podcast is on, talking about mindfulness. Todays quite a good day. Im healthy, insyaAllah. I hope my family will also stay healthy. Woke up at 11ish pm, DL, made my ppt for lcbe exam ((tomorrow)) til 1 am

23 - DL, lcbe exam with dr arie (turns out he picked epistaxis over sinonasal tumour), met up with racheel devi silvi at mcd and jco. Hojicha oreo mcflurry tasted good. Got lost on the way to racheels house lmaoo. She flies to malang tomorrow. Can i wish for life to stay simple and happy forever?

24 - DL, originally meant to be a minicex session turned out to be story time by dr Ezzy, she told us about cases that she managed, one of them is putting on tracheostomy for a baby with Moebius syndrome that went viral on twitter. We didnt even present our case and she only asked us for the scoring form. Thank you doc our lifesaver :”” after trying so hard for minicex the last 2 days turns out maybe its fated so we can meet and be inspired dr Ezzy. Mom picked me and we went to Maison Weiner before going home. Passed out from 6pm until the morning lmao

25 - a bit of exercise, DL, tried kemonyu.id mentai from duta garden, i’ve had better mentai than it but at least its on promo. it uses butter rice so that’s something new to me. rapat nemo to decide dates

26 - DL, liqo with kak Kartika about things you can do in Dzulhijjah, A2, started reading optima pem dv batch 1 2020

27 - DL, round was cancelled bcs no patient, lazed around and slept and lazed, continued reading pem dv optima, did like a half of 1 pamela reif video and my HR soared in 2 mins lmaoo

28 - DL, finally mustered the will to finish DS etika profesi, finished reading optima pem dv batch 1 2020, 2A, did 1 pamela reif video (titled 10 mins calorie burn that wont kill u), read a bit of my dv notes

29 - DL, ppds at poli were so kind!, ate shabu2 by mom and basically fell asleep

30 - DL, made ppt PKL, alhamdulillah PKL went ok with dr ika

31 - watched annabelle comes home and suicide squad with keisha karin juan, DL, relatives came to our place, ara also came for a sleepover and after i picked her up we went to dajens place lmaoo they set up bbq

4 HC’s about Thranduil’s & Mairon’s relationship:

-Spending time with each other is always a given. Whether it’s showing up at the other’s work with lunch or chilling out on the couch binge watching Netflix, they always find time in the day or night devoted to the other.

-Mairon is hands down the fashion critic in their house. He refuses to let Thranduil out of the house if he’s dressed in things that don’t match (color, pattern, etc) or if it makes him look homeless.

-Thranduil is the better cook. Mairon accidentally set the oven on fire & has been banned ever since. Neither of them will say no to pizza or any other takeout, but that’s saved for the weekend (AKA binge watching fest). During the week, he looks up what recipe to cook for dinner that night & will go pick up the needed ingredients on his way home from work. Best things he’s ever made: raspberry & cream cheese stuffed french toast (breakfast), chicken & rice soup (dinner/lunch the next day if leftovers are available), molten chocolate lava cake filled with chocolate ganache & fresh strawberries (dessert, Mairon’s favorite)

-Mairon is a pinterest whore. If it’s a DIY christmas tree ornament or a easy alternative to getting rid of pests or weeds in their garden, he’s quick to try it. Sometimes it works, and other times it doesn’t. One time he saw how to bake some cupcakes & decorate them like bunnies for Easter...let’s just say he’s banned from cooking again. (see reason 3 above)

Today was a Good Day™.

I fucked with my resume a bit and set up an account on Indeed because, fuck, I'm an adult, I guess. Put in plenty of applications. I'm actually a little upset with myself for not signing up with Indeed sooner because they really do stream line the whole process. A regular application can take an hour or more, depending on the job. And they usually all have the same questions. Indeed is like, fuck that, and just submits your resume and maybe asks 2-5 questions per employer, but not always.

Here's to hoping I get interviews soon despite my eclectic resume.

The new fwb took me out on a REALLY nice date. We walked around this Japanese themed garden park that was built in honour of Idaho Falls' sister city in Japan. Then we walked across the street to one of THE BEST restaurants I've been to in the country. We had steak, habanero sushi, sashimi, edamame, and gluten free chocolate lava cake. He got a glass of Riesling per my suggestion and I got a spiced mule that may have been the best mule I've had. (Spiced rum, spiced cider, ginger beer, and an apple slice garnish served in a stainless steel mug.) After an incredible dinner, we walked down the road to his favorite bar where every night is karaoke night and smokers/vapers are allowed. (Yay for me!) He sang; I did two shots of Jameson. We talked about exes and engaged in some PDA. Then we went back to his place for cuddles.

The sex was much better this time. Very relaxed, no nerves. We took our time making out, exploring, teasing. We talked about hard limits and safe words again, a conversation I'd meant to have over dinner before I got distracted by the food. We cuddled a lot after. He curled up and used my breasts as pillows while I stroked his hair.

I didn't want to leave, and probably shouldn't have considering is was snowing thickly by the time I'd gotten dressed and stepped outside. The snow was beautiful. I savoured the quiet and knowing that mine were the first foot steps to mark the fresh powder. The drive home was slow and a bit nerve-wracking. I could barely see and relied heavily on the tire imprints from previous cars. I drove 35mph down a 65mph highway. But even then, the beauty wasn't lost on me.

Today was a good day.

It's still Valentine's day so it still counts!

“It sure was nice of your parents to give us their tickets for this.” Mortis said, leaning forward to refill his date’s glass with a rich, ruby-red liquid.

“It was,” Opal replied, taking a sip of the wine with a satisfied sigh. “They both had to work late tonight so I figured hey, why waste the tickets, right?” She asked, gathering the pasta on her plate with her fork.

The silver-haired stallion smiled, looking around the dimly lit room. “It’s pretty impressive I must say. Converting the aquarium to host a dinner service is a neat idea.” He admitted, watching as a school of red fish swam by in the deep blue of the tank besides their table.

“I’ve always liked the aquarium,” Opal marveled, following her boyfriend’s eyes up to the tank to watch a giant sunfish lazily float by. “But we didn’t really get to come all that often.”

Mortis turned away from the tank to continue eating. “I’ll mark that down as a future date idea then.” He said, taking a bite from the lump of pasta wrapped around his fork. “You make it really easy to decide on dates, Y’know?”

Opal smiled up at him. “Well, you’ve always had great ideas in the first place. I just mention things I’d like to do and you figure out the logistics.”

Mortis chewed thoughtfully, glancing around the atrium at the various other tables and their occupants. The Canterlot aquarium held this event annually and the wait list for reservation would be full by this time next week he imagined. And while he would love to have his name on the list, he’d learned not to plan too far ahead.

Opal wiped her mouth with her napkin before pushing her empty plate away with a content sigh. “I’ve never been much of a fan of eggplant, but I guess anything can be good if you put it over pasta.” she smiled, leaning against her hand and watching the stallion finish his food. “I hear they have chocolate for dessert.”

“Chocolate sounds fantastic to be honest.” the silver-haired stallion said, meeting her eyes. “So, have any plans for the rest of the night?” he asked.

“Oh y’know,” she began, smirking. “A shower, maybe a little more wine, perhaps a massage, snuggling, other things.” she said, raising an eyebrow. “You?”

“I haven’t put much thought into it. I figured I’d just go with the flow.” He replied, turning as their waiter stepped forward with a tray and covered dish.

“Your dessert.” he said simply, resting the tray in the center of the table and removing the lid to reveal a heart-shaped chocolate cake before stepping away.

“Told you it was chocolate.” Opal said, leaning forward and taking a piece of the cake. “Oh! It’s got chocolate inside the cake.” she exclaimed, dipping her fork into the chocolate sauce and pressing it to her tongue.

“That it is.” Mortis replied, taking the other half. “I guess that’s why they call it a lava cake, huh?” he asked, cutting off a piece with his fork and eating it.

Opal shrugged, beginning to eat her own cake. “It’s a little too chocolaty for me though. If it was just the cake it’s be fine, but the sauce is just too much for me.” she sighed, “but I suppose it’d be rude to not eat it.”

“Opal, if you don’t want it then I’ll eat it. You know I like chocolate anyway.” Mortis said, chewing on another piece.

The spotted mare sighed, pushing the plate over to him. “That’s true. I’ll just have some hot chocolate when we get home.”

Mortis nodded, finishing off the first piece and beginning on the second. “For what it’s worth, it’s good cake.” He said in between bites.

Opal sat back, adjusting her dress and looking around. “So, should we get a carriage or are you gonna do that teleporty-magic thing you do?” she asked, watching her boyfriend finish the cake.

“Well, if it’s all the same to you, it’s not that far of a walk and I’d like to spend as much time with you as possible.” He smiled, stacking the plates.

Opal smiled and nodded. “Oh you silver tongued devil. Fine, I suppose we can walk.”

“Fantastic,” Mortis exclaimed, standing up from the table. “Well then, shall we get going?” He finished, stepping around to the other side of the table and helping her up.

“let’s.” she smiled, taking his arm as they head towards the entrance of the aquarium.

“Enjoy your evenings.” the receptionist said, smiling as the pair heads out into the night.

“I’m glad we got to do something this year. Hearts and hooves has always been such an iffy holiday for me.” Mortis said.

“To be honest, as long as we get to hang out it doesn’t really matter what we’re doing or what day it is.” she sighed, laying her head on his shoulder.

“I can agree with that.” he said curtly, sighing. He brushed his hair out of his eyes as they turned down a side street and continued towards her home. “I’m glad I met you.” he said, pushing his free hand into his pocket.

“Well, I can agree with that.” she said, looking away with a light blush. “Some of my past relationships weren’t nearly as good as this one.”

Opal sighed, looking up at him. “Where did that come from?”

“I don’t really know. It just seems better than saying I love you. Especially on a day where it’s to be expected.” He explained. “That being said, I do love you.” he assured her.

“I know, you don’t even have to say it.” she laughed, kissing his cheek. “My feet are starting to hurt. Turns out heels aren’t that great to walk in.”

“I guess i’ll, as you so eloquently put it, teleporty-magic us back.” He laughed, wrapping his arms around her. “nobody should be in your backyard at this time of night so it’s a safe bet we can arrive there unimpeded.”

“Well, nobody else is home so I’d hope nobody’s in the backyard.” she said, leaning up to kiss him as violet light exploded and swirled around them like a cloud of fireflies.

The cloud quickly dispersed and the pair were standing in the center of the garden, lip-locked.

“Hey! As wonderful it is to see that your relationship is doing fantastically, y’think you two could stop with all the PDA?” Caramello called from the back porch.

“I- wait, what are you doing here now? Weren’t you going on a date tonight mellow?” Opal asked, breaking their kiss quickly.

“Nope, I just said that to get the happy couple out of the house so i didn’t have to be reminded that I’m single.” she grunted, turning back towards the back door. “It was nice while it lasted, now get inside so I can lock the back door.”

“Oh, well I suppose that makes sense. Alright, we’ll be right in.” Opal sighed, watching her coach head inside before turning back towards Mortis. “Well, the other things I had in mind might be more difficult to pull off so we may just have to settle for cuddling.” she whispered, glancing towards the house before kissing him briefly. “Thanks for joining me.” she said, taking his hand and leading him towards the house.

“Oh, it was my pleasure.” he said, squeezing her hand and following her inside. “You know I’ll join you for anything you want to do.”

“You should be careful with that kind of promise mister. You never know when I’ll make you keep it.” she giggled, twirling around and kissing him again.

“Hey! I literally just said knock it off! At least go to your room to do it!” The caramel colored mare yelled from the kitchen with a frown on her face. “Otherwise I’ll be having both of you running laps tomorrow.” she warned.

“Ew, wouldn’t want that.” Mortis said, lifting Opal up into his arms with a delighted squeal and carrying her towards her room. “We’re sorry for disturbing your solitude ma’am. It won’t happen again.” He called back down the hall as he kicked the door closed and dropped Opal onto the bed. “So, shower, massage, or snuggling first, miss?”

You want to travel to India, but do not know where to go in this huge country? Then I’ll help you with your decision: Udaipur in Rajasthan you should definitely put on your list. The magical city has many names: White City, City of Lakes or the Venice of the East. In short, Udaipur is the perfect symbiosis of sumptuous, majestic remnants of the kings’ time and the authentic Indian charm of a romantic lakeside town.

Concentrated old town charm in the center of Udaipur

When I get off the taxi coming from the rather quiet Jaisalmer in the Indian desert in the center of the old town of Udaipur, a bit of the bump hits me first. Memories of the loud, hectic Old Delhi are awakened. Fortunately, after only a few meters, I can retire to my pretty, comfortable guesthouse. The architecture of Old Udaipur is mainly Hindu inspired. Much of the population belongs to the Jain religion. There are no Islamic mosques here. My advice: Just let yourself drift through the streets, and lose yourself in the labyrinth of mostly white, but sometimes brightly colored rows of houses. The core of Udaipur is not big. Around the Jagdish temple, at the intersection of which crossing the road can be a challenge, concentrates the sometimes unmanageable traffic. Just walk slowly and carefully, the cars and scooters pay attention to you and get out.

Indian shopping spree & local specialties

Admittedly, in the many colorful shops that adorn the streets, I have almost chatted myself dead. A pants for 4 euros here, a long dress made of silk for 12 euros there, handmade frames there. Lucky that I spent only two days here, otherwise I would have burnt down today! In any case, the action is important. Start with a third less than what is required. Immediately at the above junction in a small lane, by the way, from 8 o’clock the best Samosas and Katschuris Udaipurs are sizzling. Royal Palace – opulent pageantry in royal architecture

Udaipur’s must-see is the Royal Palace, which seems omnipresent only in Udaipur due to its size. Fortunately, the owner of my guesthouse, Akshay, also operates an agency, the Vintage Walking Tours. Thus, he knows the Royal Palace as well as the whole of Udaipur like the back of his hand and offers to guide me through the royal walls and provide interesting information. Soon you can book with him also tours by bike. Definitely cool too! The palace was built in 1559 by the then king Udaising, after whom the city Udaipur is also named. After entering the area through an archway, you will reach a stone wall on the right. The place looks rather unspectacular, but was until the 50s, the scene for elephant fighting. On each side stood an elephant and fought against the other. The one who first touched the wall had lost. The largest part of the city palace is today a museum. Another houses the luxury Royale Palace, and the royal family still lives in a third building. The king is now 77 years old and has a daughter and a son. Magnificent, lavishly decorated rooms, peaceful, tranquil courtyards and great views of Lake Pichola, the city center and the Aravalli Mountains await you inside the palace. Especially the rooms with colored and mirrored glass shine in a beautiful light. To get from room to room, you have to cross very low doors, which have certainly led to one or the other bump on the head. But they certainly had their purpose, because so the visitors of the king had to bow automatically before him. Particularly beautiful is the Pfauenhof, which is decorated with numerous beautiful reliefs of this bird. The peacock is considered the national symbol of India and stands for dance and music. In this yard therefore regularly performances for the king took place. Since a visit to the palace is a highlight for many travelers, I advise you to visit it early in the morning. Already at about 11 clock countless people cavorted in my stay countless people in the old walls. In the high season, it is probably 15,000 per day. As many as in the Taj Mahal!

A peaceful boat trip & a magical nostalgic island

The obligatory program in Udaipur includes a romantic boat trip on Lake Pichola. From the water, the princely buildings lining the lakeshore seem even more impressive. I’ll take the first boat at 10:00 am, heading for Jag Mandir Island in the soft morning sun after a short cruise. Tickets can be bought at the left counter of the ticket counter in front of the palace. A ride costs 430 rupees (5.40 euros), but only until 14.00 clock. Thereafter, 300 rupees will be pitched. The still cool sea air blows around my nose, while the flower-decked boat slowly makes its tracks across the quiet, peaceful lake. We also drive past the famous Lake Palace Hotel, which swims like a fairy tale in the middle of the lake. Parts of the James Bond movie “Octopussy” starring Roger Moore were filmed here, among other things. Arrived on the island, waiting for me in some places a busy hustle and bustle. It’s the wedding season, and until yesterday was extensively celebrated. A crowd of workers dismantles scaffolding, chairs and decoration. In the left part, on the other hand, time seems to have stopped. Everything looks a bit like from an old Hollywood production with James Dean and Marylin Monroe. The neat, nostalgic garden, the ornate bar tables and chairs, the fountain and the bar just above the water. If I had not just had breakfast, I would settle for a coffee here and dream of this exciting time. A wonderful place to stay in a dreamlike setting and to be pampered in the cafe, restaurant or bar with a delicious drink or meal.

By cable car to the idyllic sunset

For just 103 rupees (1.30 euros up & down), a modern cable car takes you up to a breathtaking view of Udaipur and the surrounding area. About 10 minutes drive is the station by tuk tuk from the city center. Even if the view is breathtaking during the day, Udaipur is even better in the light of the sinking Indian sun. At the latest when the deep red fireball reflects in the lake, letting the palace shine in golden light and finally sinking slowly behind the mountains, Udaipur has completely enchanted you with its white beauty. Betting? I could still write page by page about this fantastic scenery, but now let the pictures speak for themselves.

India Travel – the best cafes and restaurants in Udaipur

In only two days stay in Udaipur I could already scout my favorite cafes. There is the Ginger with the world’s best chocolate pie, which is addictive! When I think about it, my mouth is watering again. Like black lava, the chocolate slowly flows from the cake to the plate. Do I have to write more? There is also a good coffee plus a magnificent view of the lake from the leafy terrace, while a refreshing breeze cools your skin. Incidentally, you can observe how women and children wash their clothes a few meters away in the lake, as well as themselves. Like a ritual, the foaming of the long black hair and the subsequent flogging with a cloth appear. Also for a breakfast, lunch or dinner the Ginger Café is a great choice. Incidentally, cake and a cappuccino cost only 3.30 euros together. In Hello Boho, which opened just a few months ago, I find the decor very pretty. There is something hidden on the right side of the excavator Ki Haveli, where every evening at 6.30 pm there are performances of regional typical dances. Unfortunately, you can not sit outside in Hello Boho, but that should be possible in the next few months. I ate here for lunch a very delicious vegetables, but also crèpes, sandwiches and other Indian vegetable dishes are on the varied menu. Also very nice and recommendable is the Café Edelweiss. It is not right on the water.

For an authentic all-you-can-eat thali I recommend the Krishna Dal Bati Restaurant.

For only 250 rupees, your plate is stuffed with dhal (lentil curry), a kind of bread crumbs with ghee (ayurvedic butter), rice, papadam, various chutneys, salad and a sweet dessert until you drop. The decor is typically Indian simple, the food but really genuine and excellent. Learning to cook Indian food on India trips Masala, chai, chapati, naan or dishes with paneer – I could put myself in all the colorful, delicious dishes of an Indian cookbook. If you like to cook too, I can only recommend you to book such a course. You will also get to know other travelers in a simple, uncomplicated way, spend a sociable time with them and the cook teacher, and at the end of the day, you will be able to enjoy all the fine, home-made delicacies. The cooking class at the incredibly likable Shashi starts with a small introductory round in which she also shares her impressive, touching story with us. After her husband died and she was having trouble making money as a woman, they encouraged travelers from Portugal to learn English, offer their own cooking classes, and create a website for them. A direct hit! The business has been thriving ever since, so she can welcome cooking enthusiasts in her kitchen almost every day.

Table with Indian delicacies

Before it really starts, we are still equipped with the typical Indian red dot between the eyebrows, a bracelet and a red line on the crown, actually the symbol for married. I feel a lot more Indian and belonging. Then we start preparing the beloved chai tea, which can be made from both fresh ingredients and masala powder. Hmmmm, I just love him! What really impressed me is that Shashi not only knows the names of the ingredients in English but also in many other languages such as French, German, Spanish, Israeli or Dutch. This helps a lot if you do not have to deal with Indian cooking ingredients in English every day. In the course of the evening, baked vegetables, chutneys, lentils dahl, various masala recipes (for which we now have the universal recipe of Magic Masala sauce), chapati, naan and sweet parantha are prepared. A festival of exotic spices, which we can now also distinguish from the FF. After about four hours, we have conjured up so many dishes in teamwork that our table is like an Indian feast. Everything tastes so delicious that I can hardly stop putting a spoon in my mouth again and again. Except maybe the coriander chutney. Because if I do not like a spice at all, then this fresh herb. The courses are offered twice a day. At 10.30 and 17.30 hours and take about four to five hours.

Animal Aid – Help for street dogs and sacred cows

This trip from Udaipur lets me return to the city thoughtfully. I love animals and had read that about 6 miles outside the city Animal Aid Animal Shelters is primarily for street dogs. Here you can help a few days, weeks or months as a volunteer, but also – just like me – come between 9 and 12 clock, get a free guide and then make something useful. Even if it is only for 2 hours. The tour of the facility starts in the rescue station for dogs. It is subdivided into different areas, with the uninhibited all being allowed to walk around freely. 40,000 dogs are admitted here every year. At the moment, the facility is home to around 800 animals. They will be picked up, if necessary, on the basis of information from the public. Every day 80-100 calls reach the NGO. Part of Animal Aid’s work, however, is to engage the population, enable it to build a relationship with dogs, and be motivated to help dogs in their local area. After all, dogs live in groups and are put back in the same place after recovery, so as not to completely tear them out of their usual environment. Especially looking for help and compassionate looking at me the eyes of dogs with Reude. This disease manifests itself in severe coat failure. Some are almost similar to the breed of pretty ugly nude dogs. But there is hope for these poor creatures, because the fur is growing again, as the employee confirms and demonstrates to a healthy dog.

The vicious circle of sacred cows was clearly demonstrated

However, the suffering story of many cows is particularly close to me. Cows can be found all over India on the streets, whether in small streets or on the highway. They are held by families, left out in the morning and fed by everyone, as they are considered sacred. Another reason why the roads are full of cows is the fact that male calves are useless. They do not give milk, and their meat must not be eaten. However, as sacred beings in Rajasthan, they are not allowed to be killed by law either. Animal Aid is currently home to 60-70 baby bulls. When they starve to death in the street, even worse, absurd scenarios take place: the dead calf is placed at the mother’s feet to stimulate their milk flow. Others, in turn, end up illegally transporting the leather mafia to the south, where killing is allowed. This vicious cycle is shown to me in the enclosure of the cows and donkeys drastically and unadorned: Four cows lie wrapped in blankets, some of which were also placed over their heads, on the ground, waiting for their redeeming death. Their stomachs are full of plastic and garbage they eat from the streets. Since they can not be killed, as mentioned earlier, the only help Animal Aid can provide is sedating them and relieving their pain. All of this is a result of our milk and cheese consumption, which has the same consequences in every country. Only here he is ruthlessly practiced and made aware of with all his hardness. Tears are in my eyes. If you, like me, have some time to spend, after the guide, you can help bottle the calves or give some love to the many paraplegic dogs with a few strokes and a little cuddling. To see them struggling to get their deaf dangling hind feet behind them to reach you will certainly soften and touch your heart as well. Mine has also taken this small, sweet-sweet pig, which sucked with his nose again and again on my hand in a storm.

India Travel – the prettiest Guest House in Udaipur

My tip for a very nice place to stay in Udaipur is the Little Garden Guesthouse. I had already fallen in love while looking at the pictures in the colorful, but not overloaded rooms and therefore booked my three nights stay here. The drive there takes 45 minutes from the airport as it is just outside. The prepaid taxi, which you pay in the airport building, costs 650 rupees. The location of the guesthouse is ideal, right in the old town. The owner Akshay designed a total of eight rooms so tastefully and homely seven years ago that I immediately feel incredibly comfortable when I enter my room. The historic house from 1861 is now in the hands of the sixth generation. From the huge roof terrace, which is further expanded, you have a wonderful view of the back of the palace and the white buildings of the old town. In the cozy oriental breakfast room, the Indian breakfast consisting of dhal and parantha or potato mash with cumin tastes great. But also toast is offered.
