Veni Sancte Spiritus 🔥 Come, Holy Spirit, send forth the heavenly radiance of your light. Come, father of the poor, come, giver of gifts, come, light of the heart. It tries to snuff out the promise of hope. But the light resounds and what once was a whisper becomes a brilliant flame and grows brighter each night. • Lord, help me to draw more near to you this Season of Light by drawing closer to your mother. She who carried the Shamash in her womb and brought it first to her cousin and then to the world. May the Light of your Truths grow stronger in me each night so I might learn to carry you with me in my own womb and light up the world around me. When the Light inside you revealed their darkness as you walked by, We’re you frightened to share Him with them? • Day 3: Advent/Hanukkah - there is HOPE in the Light 🕯 • Oh Lord, your mother was only a young Woman then who carried within her the weight of the world. Grant me the grace of your peace within me to know your guidance from within me and not be frightened when I look upon their faces. Your mother saw all the things you did when she carried you in her womb and she was not afraid to give the Light over to the darkness. Help me to trust you in the giving of your light, especially in the darkness. • There are those who rebel against the light, who are not acquainted with its ways,and do not stay in its paths. The murderer rises in the dark,that he may kill the poor and needy; and in the night he is as a thief. The eye of the adulterer also waits for the twilight,saying, ‘No eye will see me’; and he disguises his face. At mass this morning, I had such an overwhelming presence of gratitude in my heart. To be here, with them, my children, partaking in the graces gifted to us each day at the celebration that I used to take for granted in my youth. I never could’ve imagined that this would be my highest heart’s desire, to be here with them at morning mass. No place else I’d have to be, just here, with them, because I “Get to.” • How much a heart can change when it fully surrenders to the will of a loving Father.
