babyranger the first. originally he (and mundol & toradan) just got saved in a one-off for me to get isena and isedd to start talking, and now everyone at their house has decided celairant is their best friend, including adina, who's like eight. they definitely also all get involved in the defence of the prancing pony skirms; not directly, really, bc isena and isedd are the ones who actually know how to fight, but celairant shows up bestabbed at the farmhouse bc it's close and from there it kinda just turns into another safe spot for people to fall back to

Der Feldmarshall und das bolische Objekt oder Polobjekt

Feldmarshall Suworow, Sieger im großen vaterländischen Krieg, abgebildet auf einer Tafel in der Galerie des großen vaterländischen Krieges in der Eremitage.

Die Galerie, in der ein Bild von Suworow hängt, ist ein schmaler Korridor, das ist kein Saal. Sie ist lado oder Gasse, eine klamme, phobische Architektur. Durch diese Galerie sind vielleicht noch nicht so viele Russen und Staatsangehörige der ehemaligen Sowjetunion geschleust worden, wie Muslime nach Mekka oder wie plötzlich kunst- und proseccoliebhabende Instagrammuser und Schmuser auf die Biennale nach Venedig. Aber sehr viele wurden schon durch den schmalen Gang geschleust. Jedes Jahr werden es mehr, aber die Leute sterben ja auch, darum werden es auch jedes Jahr weniger. Man müsste sie mal zählen, dann könnte man mehr davon erzählen.

Diejenigen, die durch diesen engen, effektiv affektdiesigen, scharf ambuigen und gerade gestreckten Korridor (eine nach Markus Krajewski diende Architektur, eine Serverarchitektur) durchgeschleust werden, nehmen Schleusenbegriffe mit (das ist ein technischer Begriff aus der Rechtswissenschaft, aus der deutschen Staatsrechtslehre). Die nehmen zum Beispiel den Schleusenbegriff Stab/ Pol mit, den sie gebrauchen können, wenn sie etwas über Politik, Polizei und Polarsierung erzählen. Man muss ja wissen, wovon man spricht. Der Begriff steckt in dem Stab und der Bestab steckt an diesem Griff, whatever. Begriffe ohne Anschauung (...) you know what i mean, wenn Dir Kants ideenreiche Taube schon einmal in ihrem widerständigen Flug auf den Kopf gekackt hat.

So nehmen die Durchgeschleusten Schleusenbegriffe und Schleusenbilder mit, also etwa das Schleusenbild Stab/ Pole/ polus/ polos. Da, in der Hand des Feldmarschalls Suworow, man kennt ihn, seitdem man Krieg und Frieden durchgelesen hat, dauert also noch ein bisschen, bis man ihn kennt und sich alles übersichtlich gemerkt hat.

Der Stab ist ein bolisches Objekt, ein Polobjekt. Das (a-)dressiert und polarisiert. Es scheidet, schichtet und mustert. Das ist dann ein minores Objekt, man man daran die Unterscheidung zwischen minoren und maioren Objekten betrachtet und an dem Objekt wahrnimmt, was minor sein soll. Technisch definiere ich das Minore über die Anzahl von Operationen, in denen es sich beständig hält. Das minore Objekt ist also ein Objekt, das sich in einer kleinen Anzahl von Operation beständig erhält und im Übrigen unbeständig ist. Das minore Objekt hat auch Bestand, aber nur in kleiner Anzahl von Operationen erhält sich der Bestand, dann wechselt er. Austauschbar ist ein Objekt ohnehin, aber dann wird etwas an ihm so ausgetauscht, dass es dann ein anderes Objekt oder sogar etwas anderes als ein Objekt ist. Tricky: Das bolische Objekt ist ein wendiges, kehrendes, kippendes, drehendes, vagues oder vogues Objekt. Es kann darum minor und oder maior sein, je nachdem, in welcher Anzahl der Wendungen das Objekt sich beständig erhalten kann. Das bolische Objekt kann beständig oder unbeständig sein, das ist eine Frage der Anzahl von Operationen.

Ein Staatsbürger ist ein minores Objekt, wenn er in einer kleinen Anzahl von Operationen sich ständig hält und im Übrigen unbeständig ist. Er kann ja Staatsbürger bleiben, Objekt bleiben (zum Beispiel ein Objekt der Betrachtungen). Er kann aber dann Staatsbürger bleiben und Anderer werden und unbeständig sein. Kann zum Beispiel heiraten, sich scheiden lassen, vom Eintracht-Fan zum Fortuna-Fan werden, kann (sich) umziehen, Kleider und Tracht wechseln, vom Heiligen zum Trinker werden, vom verturteilten Verbrecher, Steuerhinterzieher oder Totschläger zum hilfreichen Nachbarn. Er kann sich die Haare färben, ein neues Organ erhalte, ein altes abgeben. Er kann vom Gentleman zum Manager werden und da auch mal unhöflich werden. Er kann plötzlich von seinen Nachbar als undeutsch betrachtet werden, als Verräter am Deutschen. Dafür muss man weder das Geschlecht wechseln (Hautfarbe geht schwer) noch die Staatsangehörigkeit, manchmal reicht es schon, wenn man entweder SPD oder AfD oder Grüne oder FDP oder CDU oder die Partei zur 800-jährigen-Lebenszeit für alle Empfangsberechtigten oder zumindest die Rechtsempfänglichen (inklusive Deutschlandticket) wählt. Manchmal reicht das schon, und die Nachbarn betrachten einen nicht mehr als richtigen und normalen und anständigen Deutschen und Demokraten.

Dann ist man ein unanständiger Deutscher, oder ein ständiger Ausländer, kann das auch wieder beständig oder unbeständig sein, und so weiter und so fort. Es ist ein Kreuz, man nennt das Alltag. Juridische Kulturtechniken brauchen Operationen, um zu existieren, wie Kants Taube die Luft und den Wind zum Fliegen und wie das Recht das (!) Regen. Kulturtechniken müssen wahrgenommen oder ausgeübt werden. Das ist wie bei Kommunikation oder wie bei Beobachtungen, die gibt es auch nur, wenn kommuniziert und beobachtet wird.

Betrachtungen machen das, was Luhmann auf einem Zettel Schrift nennt (nicht Zettel) und was er dort Kerbe nennt (nicht Eindruck im Papier). Betrachtungen kerben, indem sie kehren oder kurven, kuhlen (to curb).

Betrachtungen bestehen aus Lettern, aus Mahlen und klammen Sendungen, die nicht in Gegenwart aufgehen. Sie bestehen aus mehr als nichts, weil sie beständig oder unbeständig sein können. Betrachtungen stehen und kreischen wie Kreide auf Tafeln, sie sitzen auf, sind grammatisch, weil sie auch diagrammtisch und engrammatisch sind, weil in ihnen Geschichte geladen ist und Geschichte speist, die wiederum sedimentär und aufrührbar ist. Ich kann Luhmann nicht widerlegen, wozu auch, das ist so anregend, was er schreibt. Ich kann ihn fruchtbar machen, indem ich ihn übersetze - und schärfe, auch gegen seinen Willen. Ich bringe an Wissenschaft immer etwas durcheinander, halte mich nie daran, aber mein Wissen ist Wischen (vision +/- vis). Eine große Nummer werde ich damit in der Wissenschaft nicht, aber ich bin auch unbeständig und auf lang geübte Weise klein, so what? Quid tum? (Alberti).

Okay back to THIS moment. 

Ashura is bestabbed and finally decides to replace attempted murder with signs of affection. He wipes Fai’s tears away, saying “You mustn’t shed tears for one such as I.” And now on this page he either whispers closely to Fai or kisses him on the forehead, but either way he passes on his intention that Fai should have been the one to kill Ashura and that would have removed his curse. 

It’s framed as if Ashura was trying to do Fai a favour and this is boosted in the fact that it’s Ashura’s last living action. He has mere seconds left to live and he uses it to give Fai the affection that (he implies) his actions were always meant to embody. 

Never mind the fact that just seconds ago he admitted that Fai wasn’t actually strong enough to pull this off. Even when Fai put his all into it, he still would have died.

Never mind the fact that Ashura was very definitely seconds away from murdering both Lava Lamp and Kurogane, and would have done so happily. 

Never mind the fact that he murdered an entire world (or at least a portion of it) and spent his entire life deceiving everyone who thought well of him, luring them into trust and security only so he could slaughter them all later.

Never mind all that. This was all for Fai’s benefit, you see. 

It’s that horrible twisted shadow of love that’s entirely selfish and doesn’t take into account any of the horrific suffering they cause on anyone else, least of all on the person they claim to love. 

Fai is, clearly, distraught. He’s broken. Ashura has manipulated him and brainwashed him and turned him against his family and used every memory as a weapon against him and torn Fai’s entire life to pieces around him - but, oh, it was going to be a good thing. It was for Fai, you see. 

Cue me screaming with contempt in the distance. 

ON the plus side, it shows that neat example of all the best villains see themselves as the Good Guys of their own story. 

And, for our benefit (and hopefully for Fai’s) the page ends with a panel that has no Ashura in it at all - just a message that looks forward to the future. 

Ashura, with all his murder and lies and terrible manipulative anguish, could not free Fai from his curse. He tried his absolute best (almost killed everyone involved in the process) and still failed miserably. It was never going to happen, not in this scenario. 

But Fai’s new family might be the ones to help him do it. Admitted by Ashura himself, in his final moment of candor, he sees that the love and strength of Fai’s new family has the potential to succeed where his violence failed. 

And THIS is, perhaps, the only good thing Ashura has done. Even though Fai is overcome with grief right now he now has the seed to continue loving and trusting his family, with the potential hope that sticking with them will bring happiness in all the ways that Ashura did not. 

AND THEN

(with a pause to warn about sudden gore)

HE SUDDENLY DIES. 

And all I can say is THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT
