I am once again thinking about how odysseus who witnessed the horrors that the captured women went through (one of his main duties in the iliad was taking the women back home and making sure they were as comfortable as possible and safe because he was the only one trusted not to violate them further due to his devotion to penelope. And in the odyssey part of the reason circe sent him to the underworld was so that he'd have to listen to all these women's stories (before he could talk to the prophet) ). Who was one of the few that saw women as people and respected their space and opinions. And was then put in those exact same situations. I don't have the motivation right now to do a full literary analysis of this (I'll site the sources too) but oh man one day I'm going to write a full essay on this.

And he wasnt #But first off nobody deserves to suffer that violation #Second they weren't sex slaves they were all nurses/maids/spys and I'm not getting into the ancient culture slavery issues rn #Third there's a lot you can pick to hate odysseus for but cheating/disrespecting women wasn't one of them #They literally invented a new word to describe his and penelopes love and it means to be so in love that you think the exact same way #Also forcing this narrative of odysseus cheating and penelope leaving to be a single girl boss is #Just the fake feminist mindset that stay at home moms are weak and wrong and live awful lives

Rewatching dead boy detectives and I love the music box that starts playing when Charles started hitting the night nurse. Like, the haunting melody went so well with the shock of what we learned about Charles' past and his sudden outburst (spiralling out of control, the feeling of the world beating down on you over and over and even when you try your best, be your best self, it isn't enough and there isn't anything you can do). And then morphed to something more upbeat/thrilling when she fell into the sea, followed by complete silence with Charles' breakdown. Oughhhhhhhhh

#dead boy detectives spoilers #mention of abuse ahead ->#those scenes were so good but so hard to watch. the belt hits close to home especially #I'm not an expert but you know how physical abuse can sometimes lead to sense of lacking control #how your body is something that should only belong to you #and you can't even stop it from being struck by the hands of those who are supposed to care for you #him mentioning his father smashed his tape and he said it wasn't a big deal #him being violated by the night nurse by being forced to relive his pain and everything that's been going on #world falling apart in front of you / there's nothing to be done but let it happen despite your best effort #I guess it feels like old ghosts in different form #no wonder why devlin house was a torture for him #when charles said he can't stop anything I justtttttttttttt #charles ily so much.......................#anyway my head's fever-muddled

#my characters #i missed her so much wowee #her name is katale and thats what she goes by EXCEPT her best friend (and ex boyfriend and boss) who gets to call her kitty #hes just like the all around best guy in her life and she loves him a whole lot #and even though they broke up they have a very loving friendship and shes like #oh i would absolutely kill for him and in fact i am VERY good at killing im honing my skills :3 #and her family is actually just a bunch of criminals and the only reason the other guy gets involved #is bc he needs fast money to help his mom with hospital bills and so hes like hey my mom doesnt need to know how shes alive #and then he somehow becomes head honcho and is a rumored to be ruthless man #but hes just incredibly level headed and able to think his way up (and kills a few unpleasant family members for kitty)#and if shes running out and about you can even hear him say shit like #my wife left me i miss my wife #and everyone knows he means katale but no one knows how to react bc its clearly a joke (???) since they broke up #but no one is telling their boss to elaborate the wife situation #kitty however is the entire reason that she gets this lil puppy of an agent to not kill rudyard her dear boss #and somehow they adopt this grown man and also his really weird mentor who faked their death #but they love their puppy son boy agent man #and kitty is super happy to dote on the agent but even she has her lines like WHY DID YOU JUST HAND HIM A GUN #RUDYARD HE TRIED TO KILL YOU LIKE LAST MONTH WHAT ARE YOU DOING #and rudyard is just ??? can i NOT shove a gun into his hands now? what is that? a crime? really? gonna tell on me? a criminal? for crimes?#but genuinely it stresses her out bc she loves her adopted son but loves her best friend and eventually she realizes #ok puppy agent man is loyal to them but not a criminal thats ok #while rudyard is like ... passing him guns to try out as a bonding thing #but also he is fascinated with how good the agents aim is like hey kitty you should watch how far he can shoot perfectly #hey kitty remember all those dead underlings and how precise their kills were to make them not suffer this guy is really good #also for what its worth ruds mom is still alive! shes just in a nursing home now and he goes to visit her #kitty and rudyard have such a fun dynamic to me and both are murderers but its okay (its not)#also kitty likes anime and she has forced rud to watch anime with her and he just accepts his fate #bc it makes kitty happy to share so he will watch to make her happy even if he doesnt understand all the appeal

i am actually proud of my academic progress now!!! and i've only been on these meds for like. what. a week and a half? two weeks? this is magical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not me popping back on here with a post after months of semi-inactivity (uni is being a bitch) just to reiterate how much i love writing the pahkitew island cast.

aside from sammy and amy (obviously), literally everyone else can be shipped with one another and it'd make sense to some degree, like it takes skill to create a group of people so inherently shippable (platonically and/or romantically) and ofc the writers didn't know it they just shoved a bunch of random ppl together and dusted their hands off on it but fr tho 😭

the thing is i always want to talk about my amputation and how i got sick. its so batshit it makes NO SENSE and i feel special

#when i first got to the hospital one of the doctors told my mom ''there are over 1000 patients in this hospital and your [redacted] is the #sickest one'' which is an interesting thing to tell a terrified parent but also when they told me that i was like hehe really???#when they told me they had to take my legs i was still on a loooooot of pain killers and the whole situation was insane so i just kinda said #ok and went back to watching a movie (it was best in show i remember that)#but i also thought i was in a hotel and they wouldn't let me watch tv in the living room for some reason #one time i tried to convince a nurse that my mom was picking me up to go see a movie cause i wanted to go home #there was also one time when i thought there was a frog plushie in the corner of the room and my parents thought i meant a real frog #and that's why they kept saying there wasnt a frog there. turns out i was just on soooooo much drugs #oh dilaudid i miss you so. straight in the iv.#wytxt
