9/15-10/15: 30 Day Waist Training Challenge
I am an old soul, and have always been drawn to things like corsets and waist trainers. I did some research, after stumbling onto a corset sale and being an owner of them. If one wears a waist trainer for 30 days, it should rearrange where the fat in that area of your body sits-and if you can lose fat while rearranging it-you can get your own version of a hour glass figure! Not to mention lose some inches! And who doesn’t feel like empowered woman with it on? Maybe its just me. To start: I gathered the supplies, did a pre experiment measurement, and made a plan.
Supplies: I plan on adding Waist Trainers from Luxx Curves, but for now I have a Corset, Underbust Corset, High Back Corset, Vintage Corset, and Classic Underbust Corset from Corset Story. They had an amazing buy 5 for the price of 1 sale. There is a difference between Waist Trainers and Corsets, similar in design but you can work out more in a Waist Trainer. A proper waist trainer, holds all the fat in so that all the fat can be worked on. A slip to wear under, or a tank top is not a bad idea either. Also, it should be tight (to be effective) but not painful. I also have a weight loss belt for the stomach area for work out days or break days. Easily found in person or on Amazon. The waist trainers from Luxx Curves are going to be an underbust and highback.
Tumblr media
Measurements: I did a measurement using tape, a weigh in with renpho, and a scan with me360. I measured: Underbust 40″, Waist 39″, Abdomen 47″, Hip 49″. I saw a video that measured (looking from the side) the bulge of the belly, and that was 14″.
Plan: I planned to wear a waist trainer or corset every day, for as long as I could in 2,4,6, or 8 hour increments during the week. During the weekend I plan to wear the workout one to have a break (of sorts) but stay on track. I will feel out what days I should not wear anything, and on those days I need to strengthen the muscles with stretches.
Challenge: I measured on 9/14 and planned to start 9/15-10/13, measuring again on 10/14 for the after results. When wearing it, it is best to wear it with a sports bra.
Week 1: 9/15-9/22: Latex underbust, high back, classic underbust, waist belt; I was traveling this week and altered my weekday/weekend schedule a bit. Taking one day off.
Week 2: 9/22-9/29: Class underbust, waist belt; I had my cycle this week, complete with cramps so I am adjusting course to half days with the non corset option in leu of taking all my break days for the month this week.
Week 3: 9/29-10/6: Classic Under Bust, Sauna Jacket, Waist Belt. I had a break day to use but did not use it this week. I purchased my waist trainers from Luxx and am waiting for those to come in, as I found myself being more active than I should be in a corset this week.
Week 4: 10/6-10/13: Luxx and Amazon stuff arrived this week. Waist Belt, Luxx Waist Trainer, High Back Exercise Vest, Exercise Waist Vest. Having the variety I can sweat in definitely helps.
Results: I originally measured before the challenge, in the morning before I had eaten or drank anything. This is the ideal time to measure up.
BEFORE: Underbust (40″), Natural Waist (39″), Abdomen (47″), Hip (49″), Semi Circumference (14″)
MIDWAY: Beginning  of Week 3 (UB 39″, NW 38″, A 47″, H 48″, SC 13″) and seeing the progress/lack there of, decided to adjust course a bit to burn more fat. End of week 3 (UB 39″, NW 38″, A 45″, H 48″, SC 12″).
AFTER: UB 38″, NW 37″, A 45″, H 47″, SC 11″ - with lower values (Fat, Stomach, Hip) and higher values (lean body mass). Before is left and After is Right:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Results show that 30 days of waist training, or sweating combination, had mem lose 2 inches on all measurements, with changes in internal measurements regarding body. Weight did not change, but as that was not the focus I don’t mind, and muscle weighs more than fat so as I replace one with the other, the number will change. I went down a size in my shorts during this month too!
As strange as it is that a corset should be secondhand nature, it is for me. But if you can, please have someone help you with it. The first time wearing any corset is tough, but like a pair of shoes it molds to you and is easier over time. I found it is easier to start at the bottom and work your way up, using a mirror. To maintain and increase your results-one must continue to do this but I am excited for the day that I need a smaller size because I am finally a petite woman! (Well, as much as my DNA will let me be LOL).

So I wanted to style these for work… But then I decided against the idea and went for a casual look instead. This look I did more for an evening out – but casually rather than dressed up like I normally do.
Now these beauties are a rare find if I am honest; I haven’t come across anything like this before, so I was dead intrigued to see what they’re like on the legs 🙂
Now I have to say these aren’t that different from the Twenties tights that I reviewed a while back (apart from the fact these are leggings)…

Elegant 1920s style. Seamless, delicate micro-fishnet leggings. 79% Polyamide/Nylon, 21% Elasthane 19062 7005 Size: Extra Small. Fits Hips 31″-37″ and height 4’9″-5’4″ Black. Soft sewn-on waistband with logo detail. Footless. Material: 79% Polyamide/Nylon, 21% Elastane. Made in Austria.
The Packaging: if you haven’t come across a pair of Wolfords before… They always tend to have crisp clean packaging, with the model wearing the hosiery on the front and the back goes into more detail about the pair, sizing, hosiery care etc.
Once you get in, you will find these folded around promo card. Normally they tend to be horizontally folded, but as these are netted leggings, we won’t be getting any of that this time.
On The Legs: so these start off the size of your forearm, which means these will have some serious stretch to them but enough for your size, so it’s crucial to make sure that you get the one that fits you before you buy.
The fit of them are spot on; they are perfect for my height and leg size so I’m pretty pleased with that. As I mentioned above, it is important to make sure you either get your size or go one up if you’re not sure.
The feel of them are grainy (as you would expect) but slightly soft – if that makes sense?! They are easy to catch and snag, so you will need to be careful wearing these out and about.
The quality I never have an issue with at all – I always find Wolford make their hosiery in such a way that they know what will stop it from catching or snagging… Seriously.
As leggings, I think these are pretty funky, but I personally would find it hard to dress these for work unless I wore these with boots rather than heels. I think that’s why I chose to wear them casually instead.
The Ankles: as you can see below, these are a super thin and very fitted elasticated band. I have to admit I did find it slightly tight around the ankles when I first got them on. Throughout the day it wasn’t an issue until I had to take them off and I saw this horrible ring marked on my ankles!
I mean I suppose it gotta be fitted to stop the leggings from riding up or falling down; I just didn’t expect it to be so tight to begin with!
The Waistband: and not one single issue arose here! I always love the wolford band; it’s comfortable to be in all day long without feeling like you’re being squeezed or like they’re about to fall down. It’s a good fit around the waist and it never loses elasticity quickly!
    My Thoughts?
I gotta say these are pretty funky, but a hard pair to work with. I would need to try these out a few times with different outfits to get a better feel of what would work.
Otherwise these are pretty cool and I would recommend 🙂

Benefits of Waist Training For a Sexy Hourglass Figure
Does Waist Training Work? This is another common question that we receive and the answer is always the same. It works if you work it. Your commitment directly determines the results you gain. As I always say, wearing a waist trainer for a couple of hours by itself will show results, but maintaining those results will be solely up to you. I always, always, recommend you use a waist trainer as a supplement to your fitness program. The results are miraculous if you do so. I cannot emphasize enough how resourceful waist training is if you include exercise and dieting. What is Your Recommendation and How do I get Started? Of course I would recommend waist training, but that is my personal opinion. I don’t know about you, but I like my organs the way they are. The truth of the matter is, it all depend on your goals. If your goal is to lose weight and have an hourglass silhouette then Waist Training is for you. If your goal is just to emphasize on your waist reduction, and if you like the sensation of your body being dramatically restricted then corset training is for you. To each their own. The fact is, they will both reduce your waistline; the only difference is the process. I will always stand by waist training as it personally worked for me and many of my friends My goal is to educate people as much as possible on the subject matter. So, if you do not like my depiction of corsets, I understand. However, my depiction is the truth and most of my articles always have evidence and resources to prove the point. It’s not like I’m writing randomly made up theories, these are actual facts. To get started, you first have to identify your goal. This will enable you to identify which garment is for you, and what you are looking to accomplish. Once you have your goal, you need to pick a quality garment of course. The chap route always sounds great, but quality garments show quality results. eBay and Amazon are great for getting cheap products, but not great for getting great results. Physical Benefits of Waist Training The numerous benefits of wearing corsets are what attract thousands of women to this classic invention. The results are instantaneous and evidence by simmer waistline upon wearing a corset and there are sought after long-term benefits to be expedited as well. You will improve your posture, sculpt our figure and prevent any injury. Still not convinced? Let’s check out a long list of amazing physical benefits today. • Did you know that wearing corsets could strengthen your back and help you with injuries you have experienced in the past? Yes, wearing corsets is beneficial in this aspect. It also prevents osteoporosis and other disorders such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. • By correcting postures, corsets help people with scoliosis manage better and make the back curve less pronounced. After a long time of wearing corsets, scoliosis patients can observe a significant difference in their body structure. A man with plantar fasciitis felt much relief from pressure after wearing corsets for a couple of months. • One great benefit of corsets is the reduction of headaches since people who wear corsets often are inclined to improve posture, which prevent the nerves from the spine to constrict. Communication of the spine and the brain becomes less obstructed which in turn cause fewer migraines. • We are stressing the importance of correct body posture in preventing lumbar injuries especially for people whose profession requires them to stand all day or do a lot of bending and lifting. Mechanics, nurses and carpenters experience back pains because of the nature of their work. When they wear corsets, it will gradually improve their physical support, which in turn will enhance their endurance. • Corsets have been known to help prevent the weakening of joints experienced by those who have connective tissue disorders. By wearing corsets and improving their posture, they are less likely to encounter dislocation of joints and other physically altering injuries. • Wearing waist trainers like corsets have marvelous benefits including helping singers with their vocal exercises. During concerts, they can come in handy because they help singers reach higher notes by adding pressure to the diaphragm. • Asthmatic people can benefit greatly from using corsets because proper posture improves the opening of the lungs, which allows breathing to be free and consistent. Ask your physician regarding this benefit before you do engage in waist training so that you will know if your body can handle it and if your health will be affected for the better. • A lot of women are thankful to corsets for alleviating the pain of menstrual cramps when they are on their period. It is quite a relief to them when they are in the office and not have to worry about experiencing pain while working. When wearing the corset, the framing puts pressure on the midsection including the peritoneal organs, which help with uterine contractions. This kind of pressure significantly relieves pain in the midsection area. • Since corsets add pressure on the abdomen and somewhat acts as a girdle, you can expect abdominal hernias to be prevented. It is best to consult your doctor before using corsets as a way of avoiding abdominal hernias from getting worse. Our bodies differ and you might not be allowed to do this in your situation. It depends on what your body can handle and your doctor can help you determine this. • Wearing corsets is not only preventive measure for injuries. It can also be an aid as a healing agent for abdominal injuries that are a lot worse especially the ones experienced after a car accident. The muscles in the abs region are strengthened on the external level, which in reality can stop them from collapsing. • For women who have given birth, there are special types of corsets that can be used to help with diastasis recti or what is commonly referred to as the separation of the muscles I the midsection which occur when pregnant women are in the late stages of gestation. As a safety precaution, you can inquire about this subject with you OB because he/she can better explain this in detail. • More than just he physical benefits of weight loss for people, wearing corsets can alter the psychological perception of people about their body. /when they wear corsets, they feel thinner which motivates them to use corsets often. The weight loss occurs when the corsets prevent the midsection fro getting bigger. People who wear corsets are less likely to over eat so the big picture will naturally show a much more in control person who experienced significant weight loss overtime. • People with ultra fast metabolic rate also have problems gaining the necessary weight in order to get an hourglass figure. They may experience disorders such as hyperthyroidism. If they just wear corsets for a specific period of time, they will be able to eat better and the weight gain can be targeted to specific areas in the body through the framing of the corsets. • It is not just celebrities who are looking at the great benefits of wearing corsets, so do athletes in different field of sports. Swimming coaches have encouraged their swimmers to wear waist trainers to they will have a better and more competitive form. Some swimmers who have already retired are also getting rid of their barrel chest through corset training. Athletes such as runners and body builders are noticing the benefits of wearing corsets on a regular basis an they have incorporated them in their warm up exercises as well. Most of the physical benefits of wearing corsets are on the health side and it is good to see a licensed health practitioner or your family doctor regarding these benefits. Corset training is a great innovation of human being s and with the proper guidance; it can give you benefits that may affect your entire life in a positive way.

Can Waist Training Function?
Wearing a midsection trainer for a lengthy period of time might cause harmful side effects like core weakening and bad posture.
Though waist trainers might be helpful in some instances, experts say they are not a substitute for diet and exercise management.
What is it and how can this function?
Waist cinchers are generally worn under your regular clothes and are made of a flexible yet powerful material like nylon, latex, or spandex. They might have heavy duty or steel plastic reinforcement sticks. But, there is absolutely no proof that this is actually what happens.
Similar to lace matches, a few waist trainers allegedly increase heat production, making the wearer perspiration more while working out. If you are thinking that does not seem very healthy--you are right, it is not.
Advantages of midsection training
apart from the apparent slimming effect, whether temporary or permanent, waist training cinchers may provide you back aid and enhance your posture. Some customers say they are more inclined to be unwilling to sit erect after undergoing midsection training.
Another indirect benefit is that cinchers cause you to eat less.
Particular medical corsets are occasionally utilized to fix spine deformities and trap the spine after injury or surgery. In an 2012 clinical research, individuals suffering from chronic low back pain who wore corsets for 6 weeks experienced a rise in their pain, in addition to an increase in trunk muscle endurance.
"There are definite advantages to using them if required. I had an over three finger broad diastasis recti; the waist trainer is what is helping me to decrease the gap without operation," states Johane Filemon, a registered dietitian nutritionist.
Do waist trainers do the job?
There is not any easy reply to this question. Though a few online reviewers swear by the ramifications waist training had in their bodies, others are less enthused. We are going to break it down for you and enable you to come to your own decisions. For the picture make certain to look at the following section.
Can they make you look slimmer? The same as a corset, wearing a trainer of measurements will compress your waist, making you look thinner. Whenever you take it off however, it is back to normal.
Can they make you shed weight?
Perhaps. You may be inclined to overeat while wearing a cincher because it might be uncomfortable, which may help you adhere to a diet.
Could they actually reshape your physique?
Probably not-- at least not without protracted exposure to degrees of compression intense enough to alter the form of your ribcage, making your waist look thinner.
There is currently no scientific proof that moderate waist training may cause any lasting alterations in your own body contour that cannot be explained by diet and exercise, nor can it be directly accountable for any fat reduction.
Possible dangers
Wearing a midsection trainer for a lengthy period of time might cause the following side effects.
Bad posture
Cinchers, particularly steel-boned ones, can automatically support your spine and make an artificially improved posture whilst wearing it.
But in the event the cincher is doing all the work, then the back muscles become less actively participated in keeping the spine vertical. As time passes, this can lead to core muscle weakening along with a posture.
Trouble breathing
whilst wearing a tight midsection trainer, the lower part of the lungs becomes compacted, reducing the quantity of air you can breathe in and out. This might be uncomfortable at rest, but it could also make it more difficult to breathe and impair your ability to work out.
Elevated levels of compression can lead to rib fractures and permanent limitation of lung volume following prolonged usage.
Heat buildup
Our bodies naturally eliminate heat through perspiration (sweating). Some waist trainers are not designed with this in mind, so they considerably reduce the entire body surface area that's in contact with the external environment and ready to eliminate heat.
Heat buildup, together with the breathing problem brought on by compression, can make the user feel dizzy or faint.
"All it really does is compress the internal organs into a supernatural configuration. Nothing positive can come of this and that I advise people against doing this," states 19-time powerlifting world winner Robert Herbst, adding,"It is definitely better to exercise and diet correctly to make a sculpted waist"
Kinds of waist trainers
While most of best waist cinchers are derived from the exact same concept, differences in style and assemble material may direct your choice if you are looking to purchase one.
Latex cinchers
They are elastic and often made with or without minimal boning. These are more suitable to use but the nonporous latex can cause excess heat buildup if worn while exercising. Another disadvantage is that latex has a custom of wrinkling, maybe making it visible beneath your clothes.
Corset waist trainers
They are linked to the conventional corset. Often incorporating fabric and metal boning, these are comparatively inflexible. The substance is breathable so it does not trigger as much heat buildup.
Latex and rubber cinchers have a hook-and-eye or tape fastening mechanism, even while corsets often have back laces. How much does this cost?
Amazon alone has tens of thousands of versions, so make certain to read testimonials and check the dimensions carefully before buying.
Even manufacturers of waist trainers recognize that they're not likely to yield gains without diet and exercise management.
Other non-invasive fat removal therapies that use ultrasound radio frequencies, and lasers are all covered here, in this Zwivel article.
Cosmetic and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) are somewhat more intensive surgical alternatives which could yield fantastic results if you're a fantastic candidate for the procedure. Takeaways
Following a nutritious diet and exercising regularly are vital if you would like to accomplish any meaningful weight reduction.
But training cinchers are not entirely without merit. Wearing one periodically to allow you to look your best ought to be fine, and is using one for clinical indications as instructed by your doctor. But use might have a plethora of damaging results and few, if any advantages.

If you want to feel confident in whatever outfit you’re wearing for a wedding, date night, party, or even a presentation at work, a good piece of women’s shapewear can help smooth the areas you’re uncomfortable with and give you the sleek silhouette you desire.

Tumblr media
Shapewear shouldn’t just be comfortable when you’re standing up; make sure it doesn’t bunch or roll when you sit down, either.
Key considerations
Type
There are many types of women’s shapewear to choose from. Below are the most common options.
Shaping bodysuits: The shaping bodysuit is one of the most common types of shapewear. It cover the body in roughly the same way a one-piece swimsuit does. If you want to lift your bust, smooth your stomach, and perk up your bottom, this type of shapewear is ideal. A bodysuit can be worn under any type of clothing, including dresses, shirts, tanks, skirts, pants, and shorts. It usually features underwire beneath the breasts, so you don’t have to wear a separate bra with it. However, you can find cupless shapewear bodysuits with which you’d wear your own bra.
Shaping slips and dresses: The shaping slip and the shaping dress are similar to the shaping bodysuit, but these pieces have a dress-like construction that typically hits at or just above the knee. You can wear one of these to help lift your bust, smooth your belly and hips, and tighten the look of your thighs, though they generally work best for overall smoothing. Because of the design, you can only wear this type of shapewear under dresses and skirts.
Shaping tanks and camisoles: If you’re concerned about the look of your upper body, consider a shaping tank or camisole. These fit the body much like a regular tank top or camisole, but they also smooth the belly and lift the bust. And because they don’t cover the lower body, you can wear a shaping tank or camisole with nearly any pair of pants, jeans, shorts, or skirt.
Waist cinchers: If your primary goal is to give your waist a nipped-in look, a waist cincher is the perfect choice. A waist cincher is similar to a wide belt, though it may extend past your navel and down over your hips to help give you an hourglass figure. Some waist cinchers have hook-and-eye closures in the front or back; others are simply pulled on.
Shaping underwear: Shaping underwear is a good choice if you want to smooth your belly, hips, and/or backside. They are available in a variety of underwear styles, including briefs and boy shorts, so they work especially well under tight-fitting pants, skirts, and shorts.
Shaping shorts and leggings: Shaping shorts and leggings are good alternatives to shaping underwear if you also want to slim your thighs and/or calves. Shorts-style shapewear typically ends at the knees. Legging-style shapewear can hit anywhere from the mid-calf to the ankle. Consider one of these types for wear under form-fitting pants.
Women’s shapewear sizes
Getting the size right is key. Some women think it’s best to size down with shapewear because a tighter fit would offer a slimmer look. However, wearing shapewear that’s too small can not only feel binding and uncomfortable, but it can also cause bulges that ruin the smoothing effect.
Most shapewear brands provide sizing charts with body measurements to help you choose the right size. Use a tape measure to measure the necessary parts of your body to determine which size is for you.
Women’s shapewear features
Control level
Women’s shapewear is available in several different control levels. The level of control determines how much the piece helps smooth and trim your figure.
Light control is ideal for everyday wear because it smooths out slight bulges but doesn’t compress your body too much.
Firm control works best if you have specific areas of the body you want to target. These pieces usually provide a trimmer look for your overall figure, too.
Extra-firm control provides the most smoothing and contouring action. These pieces will make your figure look noticeably trimmer, but they can be highly constricting. They’re best reserved for special occasions rather than everyday wear.
Material
Most women’s shapewear is made of a nylon/spandex blend. The more nylon the blend contains, the more control a piece of shapewear usually offers.
While nylon and spandex blends are extremely effective for shaping the body, they are synthetic materials without much breathability. That can make them a poor option in hot weather or warm climates. Lightweight nylon and spandex shapewear is your best bet if you’re worried about getting hot and sweaty.
You can also find women’s shapewear options made of cotton and microfiber. This shapewear is ideal for warmer weather because the cotton can wick moisture from the body, while the microfiber helps absorb odor.
Color
Black, white, and nude are the most common color options, though you can find women’s shapewear in other colors as well. Black works well under dark clothing, while white and nude pieces are designed for use under light clothing. Nude shapewear is the best option when you’re wearing light-colored clothes, as white shapewear can often show through even a white T-shirt.
Some manufacturers make shapewear in brighter colors, such as red, blue, green, and pink. If you want to coordinate your shapewear with the shade of your clothing, you might be able to find the right option.
Women’s shapewear prices
The most affordable women’s shapewear pieces target the smallest areas of the body. For example, a pair of shaping underwear may cost as little as $6. Shaping tanks or camisoles have a similar starting price. Waist cinchers start a little higher at around $15, and shaping shorts and leggings typically start around $16.
Women’s shapewear that targets both the upper and lower body but doesn’t cover the thighs usually costs a little more. A lower-cost shaping bodysuit, shaping slip, or shaping dress might run around $20 or $30.
If you come across shapewear that is pricier than these figures, it is probably due to the quality of the materials, the reputation of the brand, or both. In our research, we came across shapewear pieces that cost over $100. For most people, this would be overkill. The sweet spot, in terms of prices, sits between $10 and $60 for the majority of consumers.
Tips
Don’t try to put shapewear on right after you get out of the shower. When your skin is damp, it can be difficult to pull the snug fabric over your wet skin.
If there is any natural moisture on your skin when you’re getting dressed, apply some baby powder before you put your shapewear on.
When you’re wearing a pair of shaping underwear, shorts, or leggings and the waistband keeps rolling down, you can tuck it into the bottom of your bra to help keep it in place.
If your clothing sticks to your shapewear, rub a dryer sheet over the shapewear and the interior of your clothes to get rid of any static electricity.
Other products we considered
There are so many women’s shapewear options on the market that it’s fairly easy to find a piece that addresses your particular concerns. The Lover-Beauty Women’s Seamless Body Shaper is an ideal choice if you want a body suit that also also cinches your waist. It offers moderate control and a thong panty so you get a seamless look under your clothing. We also love the Homma Premium Thick High Waist Slimming Leggings for those who want an option that targets the belly and lower body. It has a thick high-rise waistband that doesn’t roll down and is available in 10 different colors to match any outfit.
Tumblr media
Women’s shapewear can get stretched out over time. To make sure that you continue to get the slimming effect you want, replace your shapewear every two to three years.
FAQ
Q. How should shapewear be laundered?
A. It can vary from piece to piece, so check the care label for your shapewear. Most shapewear is fairly delicate, which means it should be hand washed in cold water and laid out to dry. Some items may be machine washable, though.
Q. What should I do if I’m between sizes for women’s shapewear?
A. If you find that you fall between two sizes according to the shapewear sizing chart, don’t be tempted to size down. Wearing shapewear that is too small can not only be uncomfortable, it can also cause unflattering bulging. Instead, opt for the larger of the two sizes to make sure you get a flattering, comfortable fit.
Q. Can I wear women’s shapewear every day?
A. It’s usually perfectly fine to wear shapewear daily, provided it’s the right size. You might not want to wear pieces with extra-firm control every day, but shapewear that provides light control is usually comfortable enough for daily wear.

Being the shortest of the Amazons wasn't easy, but being the shortest and being the worst at fighting was clearly worst. You didn’t know if it was because of your height, or just because you are different. Antiope already tried to teach you but always seem to fail and you would always end up with the medic, that always had a special spot for you to rest. Even though you are a good friend with the medic Aketa, you have to stop visiting the place so often, you have to improve but...you seem to not being able to do it, until a certain Amazon saw you struggling.
Diana was well known by her heart of gold, she always seems to be helping the Amazons or training with Antiope. Diana had already heard the rumors of the short Amazon that didn’t seem to know how to grab a sword without hurting herself in the process, Hippolyta had also heard about this and ask Diana if she could teach you, she thought that was going to be an easy task , you just need a softer hand rather than Antiope shouts, so she accepted the challenge.
Today she got up from bed with the mission of teaching you and turn you into the greatest warrior, she asks Antiope about your whereabouts and she easily answers with a “try in the med-bay”, it was pretty early and you were already on the med-bay “poor Y/N” Diana thought.
You gave up on fighting and decided to help Aketa on the Med-bay for now on, Hippolyta had always said that we were safe here, so it wouldn’t hurt to have one warrior less on their army for...well nothing because the queen said that Ares was dead so, you just didn’t see the point to keep trying to become something that wasn’t needed anymore. But a good medic was always needed it, so here you were, listening Aketa rant about the different ways to heal a burn.
“..but the easiest way to heal a burn is to put this ointment, being careful not to aggravate the wound, and then patch it up with this leaves and ta-da! you are ready to go and fight!” Aketa said smiling at her friend.
“that seems easy! and I don’t have to hurt anyone or myself in the process!” You said
“Yeah, well, you actually could hurt them but you just have to do it softly and they will be okay” Aketa said, she grabbed your hand taking you outside the med-bay where it was a huge park filled with different flowers and plants
“Wow, how did I never saw this?” You exclaim. Themyscira was pretty big, but all you knew about the place was very little, that’s because you have to spend your whole life training and just worrying about being a warrior that you never worry about other places on the island.
“It surprised me too, you come here often Y/N, you should know that we have this” Aketa grabbed one of the flowers and show it to you. “this a Calendula, this flower can helps us to soothe burns and-” Aketa saw Diana coming towards you
“Hello, Aketa, Y/N” Diana said, you gave her a shy wave
“Hey Diana, what brings you here? are you hurt?” Aketa asks. You decided to look at the flowers rather than lose yourself in Diana's eyes, she was too beautiful for you to handle without saying something stupid.
“oh no, don’t worry I’m fine, I’m here for her” Diana said looking at you. You didn’t look at her, it's because you thought that she was talking about someone else, but Aketa poke you, making you look at those big brown eyes.
“o-oh me? w-why?” You ask, or at least try to. Aketa was trying so hard not to laugh at this, she already knew about your crush on Diana, it was hard to miss how you melt every time the beautiful Amazon pass by near the med-bay, she had to throw something at you to wake you up for daydreaming.
“yes you” Diana smile at your question, you were cute on her eyes, not awkward and clumsy as the other warriors said all the time. “Hippolyte ask me to train you, she thinks that Antiope was being too hard with you, so she asked me to train you”
Oh, this is great, you were going not only to disappoint your crush but also train with her, you didn’t know if you should run or make a happy dance, the first option seems the best one.
“that’s awesome! Diana is an amazing warrior Y/N!” Your friend pokes you once more, her big eyes silently screaming at you “go go!!!”
“Yeah it is, but I’m sorry Diana I already decided to help on the med-bay, fighting is not my thing” You said, trying to ignore Aketa’s eyes, your best friend was internally screaming at you “she’s such an idiot!”
“No no, she’s not, she is definitely going to train with you” Aketa said while she drags you inside the med-bay “ just wait for her on the training field!” and with that, she shoves you inside the med-bay, and Diana started walking to the huge field.
“Stop Aketa! what the-”
“Are you crazy?! did all the head bruises started to make effect!?” You friend exclaim
“I don’t want to make myself a fool in front of everybody once again!”
“but she smiled at you!” Aketa whined “I think she likes you” you blushed at her words
“No she doesn’t!”
“yes, she does! , so now you are going to the training field and you are going to train with her” Aketa said, handing you a sword and a bow.
“Aketa I can’t! I already said that I was going to help you”
“oh yes about that, you can’t, I banned you from this place!” She said, raising her eyebrow in a sassy way
“..you...y-you what?!”
“Unless you go to train with Diana I won’t let you come here anymore, and I won't teach you a single thing!” Aketa said, looking at your eyes, a hand on her hips.
“...only this time?” You said, glaring at your friend
“yes, you just have to go this time, and if things don’t work out then you can come back and I’ll teach you everything you won’t have to touch a sword anymore!”
“...oka-”
“YES! now go go! try not to get yourself kill!” She shoves you outside the med-bay,  a big smile on her face, she can be such a pain in the ass sometimes.
You came to the training field, only to find Diana on her horse.
“Hmm, h-hi?” You said
“hello Y/N, come here, we are going to a secret place” She said, but there was only one horse
“secret place?”
“Well I thought that maybe you would want to train in privacy, I heard that the other amazons can be rude to you” Diana said, she extends her hand to you “come on” You hop on the horse, Diana grabbed your hand on hers, putting yours on her waist.
“hold tight or you may fall” She said. It was such an innocent thing to do, but your hands were burning at the feeling of her hands in yours but the feeling fades away quickly, Diana's hands were gone, and your hands were now rested on her waist.
“don’t worry it's not too far away from here..” she started talking on the way to this secret place.
“Antiope used to take me here to train, is pretty quiet and we won’t have a huge audience surrounding us”.
A few minutes later of trying not to hyperventilate or say something stupid, you arrive at this secret place. Diana helps you to get off the horse.
“okay, here we are, we are going to start with a sword..”
And so the time passed by, and surprisingly, you didn’t hurt yourself.
“you are doing it great Y/N!, now we are going to try with the bow”
“Oh I suck at that, I suck at everything actually”
“don’t say that, you manage to not hurt yourself while training, that’s an improvement” She said. She grabbed a bow and hanging to you.
“okay, show me how you shoot”. You try to shot at one of the targets, but the arrow fell from your bow before even hitting the target. Your cheeks turn red for the embarrassment. Diana smile at this, on these few hours that she has been around you, she already learn that you were a shy and pretty clumsy girl, but also with a heart of gold, she was enjoying being with you, and somehow didn't manage called it enough for today, so she decided to teach you how to use the bow properly, just to stay a little more with you.
“okay, you are holding it wrong, you need to put your hands like this..” She helps you to hold the bow properly, her face a little too close from you to think straight. “okay, you are holding it wrong, you need to put your hands like this..” She helps you to hold the bow properly, her face a little too close from you to think straight. (lol)
“try to shoot now”
You tried once again , but miss the target.
“hmm..” Diana murmur, she looked at you, up and down, her gaze making your face get warmer and warmer by the second, you gulped nervously.
“I know what’s the problem! you are standing wrong” She said like it was obvious.
“You have to put your foot here, and the other here, you back need to be straight” Her hands were now on your back, pushing it a little to correct your posture, she positions herself behind you once again, but this time her hands were on yours, her arms almost embracing you. Her breath hitting the back of your neck, making goosebumps take over your skin.
“now aim...and...shoot!” The arrow went flying right into the bullseye. You jump at this, surprised by the perfect shot
“I DID IT!” you started making a happy dance, forgetting that Diana was there with you “I hit it right, I shot the arrow right into the bullseye~” You sing while dancing. You heard Diana’s angelical laugh behind you. You stopped your weird dancing and blushed furiously hiding your face in your hands. Diana walks to you, still laughing, and grab your hands looking at your flushed face.
“It’s okay to celebrate Y/N, don’t be scared or embarrassed to be happy or being yourself” She said, squeezing your hands and smiling fondly at you.
“you said that because you’re literally perfect Diana, I’m not like you or like any Amazon, I’m different and they hate that, I hate that too, I’m not proud of it, I’m weird” You said looking at the floor. Diana grab your chin in her hands
“I think you should be proud, you are a beautiful person, with a beautiful heart, and what’s wrong with being different? being different means being unique, a flower that stands out from the other ones”
“in a bad way, they only see my flaws, I’m the clumsy awkward petite Amazon that even if she breaths gets hurt, I’m weak-” Tears started to gather in your eyes.
“You are strong, because even though you didn’t know how to wield a sword, you keep trying, even though you were hurt and with broken bones, you keep training, you keep going even when they told you that you couldn’t do it, you are strong Y/N, you are brave, you are...mighty, tiny yes , but mighty” Diana said, wiping your tears away with her hands. “and we are going to show them that, come here tomorrow , same hour okay?”
“Yeah okay” You murmur walking to the horse. “you are not coming?”
“oh no, I’ve got to train with Antiope, go with Aketa, she may be waiting for you” And with that, you left.
Diana stays looking at you riding away from the place. You were special for her, she didn’t know why or what makes her want to be with you all the time.
“Seems like you are a better teacher than me” Antiope said smiling at Diana
“She just needed a softer hand” Diana said, she didn’t like the way Antiope treat it you, she knew that Antiope has a hard way to train and teach, but she could also be a little softer with you.
“I hope that it’s not too soft, you are teaching her to be a warrior Diana, and I personally think that she is not a warrior, she would fit better on the med-bay” Antiope said sitting on a rock while looking at her sword.
“she’s different, maybe she can be both things, she will probably even beat me in the future, I saw strength inside of her, I just need to teach her how to use it without shouting at her. Not everyone can endure your shouts” Diana said at her Aunt, Antiope smile at this, she could already sense the protective aura radiating from Diana.
“You can take them pretty well, and that’s because you are strong and not weak if she bents only with words, she won’t take the sharpness of a sword”
“sometimes when a heart is too pure, words tend to hurt them more that a sword, remember that the next time you talk to her” Diana said, a little more harsh that she intended to come out. Antiope was smiling at this
“what’s funny?”
“Oh nothing, you seem pretty fondly of her” Antíope said, while she sharps her sword. Diana smiled at this and look at the floor.
“she’s a good person yes”
“that’s not what I meant but okay”
“Are we going to keep talking or are going to fight?” Diana said, taking her sword.
Antíope sight at this, chuckling a little.
“ If you wanted to change the subject you just had to tell me Diana”
“I’m not chang-”
“your mom does the same little one, don’t worry I won't tell anyone and I’ll try to be softer with her…” Antiope smiled at her niece, and Diana couldn't help but do the same
“now lets fight!”.
I hope this was okay. Remember that if you have any idea for a part 2 just send me an ask!

Hate exercise, Does Compression Shapewear Plus Size Work to Lose weight?
Tumblr media
Losing weight is one thing many people want especially women nowadays that lead to the question is compression shapewear plus size really working to burn calories and it's simply because of the physical and psychological effect overweight has on an individual and even the health implications. Being overweight can really be frustrating especially when you are doing a lot to make sure the excess fat leaves because it is affecting your social life and you want a better quality of life.
Tumblr media
Worse of all is when the fat in your body is concentrated in one area, let's say the stomach or the breast and you really want to get that fat out but you keep losing the ones which are not even enough in the other areas. It is more complicated and harder to lose weight in targeted areas and worse of all, not many have the time to visit the gym or go along with the whole eating healthy thing. One of the major questions many like to ask is "does Shapewear reduce belle fat". We are going to answer questions like this and many more in this article.
What is Shapewears
A Shapewear can be described as a type of garment which aids in the compression of certain areas of the body of an individual who has excess weight. Shapewear help individuals create a slimmer and slender appearance for themselves. It is a garment worn under the actual clothes and it can be seen as an underwear.
Tumblr media
Since it is worn inside, no one can tell you are wearing some form of Shapewear and it gives you that natural looking slim shape. Shapewear can help you compress different types of fat concentrated in different areas of the body and could be hip fat, thigh fat, stomach fat, and even arm fat. They come in different designs and they are beginning to look really fashionable too. There are certainly some shapewears which are easily described as the best shapewears for weight loss, but most of the time, this process can be really slow. Shapewears were created to help individuals with fat concentrated in certain areas of the body, helping them slim it down to as smooth as possible making them look nice and awesome on any outfit. There are different kinds, and they come in different sizes and different functions depending on the part of the body that needs the work. It has done fabulously well at its intended function as it has been reported to flatten certain areas perfectly. There have been word that the Shapewears actually work and it has long-lasting results. This means that some users have confirmed that the Shapewear actually reduces weight, but this is only word from mouth. The question now is, does Shapewear Plus Size Work for weight loss?
Shapewear and Weight Loss.
This question, if it is to be answered logically, then the question will be no, it doesn't. This is because simply just folding your skin inside some material does not take the skin away, it just hides it and camouflage it into something beautiful. When you take away the camouflage the right skin drops again. Although this is a logical answer, this answer is wrong. So the question does Shapewear reduce Belle fat? Scientifically, yes, Shapewear Plus Size will reduce Belle fat. Here is the scientific basis for this. When fat is burnt, sweat is emitted. When you use the plus size Shapewear to size your body, you swear internally and this sweat causes you to lose some amount of weight. So every time you use it and the longer you use it, you lose weight.
Can Shapewear Reshape Your Body Permanently?
This is a frequently asked question, Can shapewears reshape your body permanently? Logically, the answer should be yes it can simply because as it is said earlier, it can help you reduce and shed some fat. Unfortunately, this is not true. Using shapewears cannot permanently reshape your body. Firstly we need to understand that although using shapewears can have a positive effect on your body shape as it helps you shed some fat, this is just a passive ability and one good but unanticipated result.
Tumblr media
Shapewears were made to instantly shapen the body, not for weight loss. The rate at which using shapewear for plus size shed fat is not enough to help you lose enough weight to get a good body shape back. It is important to understand the uses and how it functions and do not go to the market to buy a shapewear intending to use it to lose weight because you have a busy job or you would not have time to hit the gym.
Slimming Thermal Weight Loss Body Shaper Reviews
Right there on Amazon or Ali express there are tons and tons of slimming thermal weight loss body shaper reviews. These products have been very effective and they have helped individuals lose weight at a faster rate than the normal plus size shapewears. The best thing about these sellers are their delivery time and delivery conditions.
Tumblr media
First, the delivery is always on time and you never have to wait for your product for more than the stipulated time. Secondly, the delivery quality is always on point. What you see is what you get, and sometimes even better. There have also been reviews about the efficiency of the products and how some individuals who were beginning to get extra weight used them to get a clean start. These reviews are great and you should be thinking of getting some of these products either from Amazon or Alli express any would do.
Wearing Shapewears Everyday
Is this good? Does this have dangers? Many questions are asked by many ladies of they can wear shapewears every day. Well, this depends. But firstly, in your bid to look overly sexy, do not go for shapewears which tighten your organs or suffocate you.
Tumblr media
If you do this, you risk your self have some health dangers. If this tight shapewear is in your stomach, you might have your stomach acid go back up to your oesophagus and cause some reflux. That being said, shapewears, if not too tight can be worn daily but it has to be on reduced hours. It gives more confidence to an individual and helps boost morale for weight loss and having to do away with them.
Final Verdict On Does Compression Shapewear Plus Size
Does waist trainers really work? Since body shapers helps you to burn calories during exercise or without exercise because shapewear plus make it more difficult to breathe so you can get fit and in shape. I hope we have answered your questions on wearing a body shaper can it do more harm OR good? and how you might feel wearing compression shapewear plus size. Read the full article

Love Has No Height Restrictions
Tumblr media
Series Note: This is gonna be a series where Bucky is dating a Tall!Reader and Steve is dating a Small!Reader. Two separate stories but named the same thing. I’ll be updating this when I can, I’m mainly focusing on Bucky x Tall!Reader more but I have a few ideas for Steve x Small!Reader.  Summary: You’re a new Avenger, Natasha’s friend. You’re taller than most people, most men, and that intimidates them usually. Only Bucky takes a shine to you and you don’t know how to act when he becomes shy and nervous around you; thinking he’s intimidated by your height and strength.  Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Reader Warnings: Swear words and height shaming (? is that a thing)
Got this idea from my friend and her boyfriend. When asked to be tagged for this you’re asking to be tagged for both Steve AND Bucky stories, please do not request to be tagged for one or the other, as I am tagging for the whole series which includes both their stories. - Rosalee
You had always been a little taller than your friends growing up. As a child it was never mentioned, simply a little growth spurt, to begin with, all your friends would catch up with you, eventually. Then when you hit your teens and puberty settled you had shot up. You were taller than most boys and all of your friends; it was no longer ‘normal’ or a ‘growth spurt’. The high school boys didn’t fancy or like girls taller than them and the girls were always laughing at you. You were lanky and skinny, just bumbling around the school corridors like a ‘sasquatch’ they’d call you.
When you finally left school and going to University you were already on the six-foot mark. You had moved away from your hometown and people seemed more welcoming to you, you didn’t get any boyfriends but you had friends, people that didn’t bully you for being tall. Having a boyfriend was the least of your troubles but you always knew it was because of your height. You stayed away from heels, despite the fact they make your legs look great and you tried not having friends below five-foot-five because smaller people make you look taller. The taller you are the worse you are; so you had grown up to believe.
Men had a difficult time wanting to be with you, especially if you were significantly taller than them. They were brought up to be tougher, taller and manly, with you as a girlfriend it defeats the purpose of all that. Women are meant to be petite, graceful and fragile, and you simply didn’t fit that mould, therefore, you were without love or romance. It shouldn’t bother you but it does.
The problem was you didn’t look like those runway models either, you aren’t skinny, you’re average with a toned stomach and wide waist (your mother would say “good baby-bearing hips”), you also had thick thighs from all the mountain climbing and training you do. You went from lanky to lean, some would say “built like an Amazon Warrior Princess”, not that many men found that attractive.
*
“You gonna stare at that target all day?” You were snapped out of your thoughts by Natasha; you turned and tilted your head down at your fiery haired friend. “What’s up?”
You had met Natasha a few years back when SHIELD was still kicking and you were just part of the Tactical Team for her and Steve Rogers. You became fast friends, which led to now; you being part of the Avengers, your skills and agility proving useful on most missions. You fought differently to Nat; she used precision and graceful, ballet, moves in her fighting style. You opted for brute force; you packed a mean swing and used your strength rather than quickness to fight, almost like Captain America but with a graceful twist to it.
“Nothing,” you tried to lie, “just got a few things on my mind.” You shrugged, it wasn’t the entire truth but it wasn’t a lie either, you could never lie to Nat.
Natasha cocked an eyebrow but smirked. “Bucky has been looking for you, by the way.” She grinned as you looked away from the target, once again, back to her with curiosity. “Wanted to train with you today,” she toyed lightly.
She knew you had a thing for Bucky, she knew before you even did, of course. Steve brought him in a few months ago, he was a little timid and shy but he eventually opened up, becoming more of a valuable member to the team. You gave him a little space because you didn’t want to intrude on his time or his healing process. Eventually, he started to come to the gym and would usually watch you train before just starting to spar with you.
You had an easy friendship with the man. Only he was a few inches shorter than you, you being six-foot-four and Bucky just hitting the six-foot mark, it was noticeable but he never made a comment on the fact he had to tilt his chin up or the fact your hands are nearly as big as his own.
“Thought he was training with Sam today?” You asked nonchalantly.
Natasha refrained from an eye roll and opted for crossing her arms instead. “He was meant to but decided he wanted to train with you instead,” she huffed, “you going to go?” You looked down at her, her only being five-foot-five.
“I suppose I have to,” you placed the gun down with a light thud and shrugging your leather jacket back on, you glanced at the sly red-head. “What are you planning, Romanoff?” You asked with suspicion.
“Nothing, Y/N, never you mind.” She toothily grinned as you left the shooting range in the Avengers Base.
You finally made it to the gym, already changing into workout clothes; a tank top and some leggings. You see both, Steve and Bucky, over by the weights each equally pushing each other to prove they’re stronger than the other. You chuckled at them before walking over and standing by their heads, resting hands on your hips and looking down.
“What’s the award title ‘Biggest Loser’?” You laughed as Steve chuckled and Bucky jumped at the suddenness of your voice.
You shocked Bucky so much that he lost his grip on the bar he held above his head, his metal hand slipping and the weight coming to drop on his neck, this would be how he died; embarrassing himself in front of you. Before that could happen you grabbed the cool metal bar, holding it up and stopping it from crashing down on his neck. From where he laid he could see your arms tense, your face in full concentration at keeping the almost double his own body weight off of him.
He slid out from underneath the bar, sitting on the bench and panting, he turned just in time to watch you readjust your grip on the metal bar and begin to use it. Dropping the metal bar to your thighs with your arms straight, little tension or strain, before you hoisted it back up to your neck and you puffed out air, you did this five times before setting the bar down with a bright grin.
“Such a show-off,” Steve snickered at you placing his own weights away before sitting up. “Thought you were in the shooting range for the afternoon?” Bucky watched as Steve stands up, he stands two inches shorter than you, crossing his arms the same time as you do; it’s uncanny how you both do that, you both work similarly on the field too.
“Natasha said that Barnes wanted to spar with me, so here I am.” You shrugged as Bucky frowned, you uncrossed your arms at his face, “you did, right?”
Bucky becomes nervous. His cheeks felt hot and so did his neck; you raised your eyebrows as Bucky began to mutter to himself, you glanced at Steve who was trying not to laugh at his best friend. It takes almost a full minute till Bucky actually replies to you.
“Uh-I’m fine,” he mumbles looking away from you and you bite your lip, nodding stiffly. Bucky stands up and walks away to different gym equipment away from you.
Steve sighed. “it’s fine, Steve. I get it; it happens a lot, more than I care to admit.”
“What happens?”
“Men feeling emasculated around me because I’m taller, stronger, than them. I get why Bucky is like that around me, it’s fine. He wants to feel in control and have power now, being around me doesn’t give him that” Steve grimaces at you for a second, you look far too chilled to be saying stuff like that, especially when he knows how Bucky really feels for you.
Steve shakes his head, “it’s not like that with Bucky.” You rolled your eyes and begin to walk away, “honestly, Y/N, Bucky likes you. He just isn’t very good with the whole… feelings and being open about them bit, yet.”
“Sure Steve,” you sarcastically retort. “I’ve been dealing with that type of behaviour since I was twelve, guys becoming twitchy and intimidated by me, like women can’t be tall or stronger than them. Don’t defend Bucky’s actions, it’s fine, he’s the only guy that I’ll let it slide, for now.” You turn swiftly, your H/C hair snapping behind you as you walk out of the gym.
Steve turns to his best friend who was on a treadmill, “Bucky, you’ve got to tell Y/N how you feel.”
“No way, she’ll laugh at me,” the man grumbles and refuses to meet his best friends stern glare. “Besides she doesn’t like me, I’m not exactly dating material, Steve.”
The blond rolls his eyes so hard it almost gives himself a headache. “Trust me; you need to speak with her. She thinks you’re intimidated by her because of the fact she’s taller than you,” Bucky momentarily stops running and almost falls off the machine, his eyebrows furrowed in question. “She’s had to deal with guys- ask her yourself, bro.” Steve snapped before walking off to the punching bags.
Bucky presses the button a few times before the treadmill slows to a stop; he grabs his towel and stalks out of the gym. Heading to your room, the full intention of finding out why you think he’s intimidated by you.
When he finally reaches your room takes a deep breath before knocking. It’s a few seconds before the door opens, you’re still in your gym wear, he can tell because he’s staring at the floor where he can see the Nike white trainers. Slowly he drags his eyes up to meet yours, chin tilting upwards due to standing a little closer to you than he intended. E/C eyes meeting his clear blue ones, only your eyes are glassy, watery almost. A slight redness forming around them, indicating you had been rubbing at them.
“Are you crying?” He asked in disbelief. He had never seen you cry; you often let out any emotion through sparring or training. This was unusual and different, an emotion he hadn’t dealt with before, not with anyone else, at least.
Your eyebrows furrowed in frustration. “What so I can’t cry now?” Your raised voice made Bucky flinch backwards, “What because I’m big and tough I don’t cry? Well, I do. I may walk around here like I’m one of the guys but I’m a girl, Bucky, I have feelings and they get hurt just like everybody else’s around here.” You snapped, quickly wiping away the now angry tears that fell down over your cheeks.
“I didn’t mean it like that- I didn’t- I’m sorry?” He tried and you scoffed at him. “No, not what I meant. I mean, Steve told me that you think I’m intimidated by you because you’re a girl who is tall, I’m not. –“ He stopped when he sees you cross your arms, eyes a blaze as you glared at him, as if he had just offended you in some way.
“Oh, I see,” He frowns at your tone of voice, condescending pitch. “You aren’t intimidated by me because I’m a girl. So, if I was a guy that’s taller than you, you would be intimidated?” He stumbled to find an answer to that question. “You should just go, really. I’m not in the mood to be looked down to- I mean up- whatever.” You slammed your door and slumped against it, tears falling freely now that Bucky couldn’t see you.
(Because this was in my drafts and I can’t add tags, have this till I can figure out a way to get my laptop working again. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience I’ve caused, I really wanted my vamp!Bucky series up but I can’t add the tagging list. This was beta read, unfortunately, this isn’t my edited version because I can’t get on my laptop! - Rosalie)

Ok so I said I'd keep posting. I know I have no readers but hey ho, maybe someday? The whole point of this is to help anyone whose diagnosed, suspecting whatever find out a bit about life with EDS. Even if it's just 1 person that's fine by me. To be honest I found posting the other day quite therapeutic (they have been saying "maybe you should go see a counsellor" but that's a whole separate thing). Two birds, one stone am I right?
So ironically my Facebook threw up not one but THREE joint/muscular injury related posts a couple of days ago.
"Come on shoulder, just heal a little more...."
"Going to be rocking this bad boy for the next week" (little did I know it was 4)
Tumblr media
And a general rant about the nhs not giving me an appointment for said knee pain (anyone else get that? Rings doctor, no appointments. Rings 111, tells me to ring doctor. Ring doctor again no appointments for a week and in severe pain. Rings 111. Try doctor again please. 3 hours later you're seeing an out of hours doctor being told you need MRI on a month and a half old injury and your leg in a brace)
This year it's me ringing my latest orthopaedic consultant (oh I've seen a few... at least 4 different hospitals have had me on their books in recent years) to ask for a referral for another lovely cortisone shot. I've done pretty well. It's been 9 months since the last. The first lasted about 2 months (gym, walking, lots of stairs.... not a good combo for me) and resulted in a slow crescendo to agony and eventually being repatriated to England from my place of work on sick leave. Granted in this 9 months I've paid out for physio, bought myself expensive hi top trainers for work (trainers mandatory, converse a no and better yet I'm a strict veggie, no leather) before I was a New Look basic 10 pound trainers girl, they get paint, mud, even wee on them where I work. And the reason why I'm buying these expensive shoes you ask, the 500 pound custom made insets.... hell a girl will try everything to avoid bursitis!
My next option? Draining the bursa. Sounds terrifying but next year if it's still flaring up that's the option. Makes you feel a bit sick doesn't it? Blood I can handle. People fiddling I'm my joints I hate!
But forgive me, this isn't all a whinge! Just trying to point out the practicalities of your joints going (and the cost). My hip support bandage thingy arrived today. People swear it helps (well the Amazon reviews do) so I thought it's worth a shot. It can go in my collection of supports... the sling which ties round your waist, the lovely aforementioned knee brace (tip, wear black tights it's less obvious), the ankle brace and the wrist supports.... all of which i can promise you it's actually worth investing in. If you need them, you need them! If it keeps your joint steady so it can recover it's a massive plus from me.
Today the pain is not as severe. Tomorrow? I'm driving the 70 miles to see my best mate and goddaughter. Naproxen, brace, ibuprofen gel and ice at the ready! Good job I love them so damn much!
So there's not much else to say really. Hip painful but all other joints ok right now so I'm happy. Get a shot in it and I'll be running (well, walking steadily) up those stairs in no time! Yes I need more rest than everyone else and I probably should take it but I'm only 28. If there's a fix, there's a way! No peace for the wicked and all that...

15 Health and Fitness Benefits of CrossFit
1. You'll get stronger.
Spoiler alert: Lifting weights, Olympic weightlifting, and resistance training all make you stronger (among these other benefits of strength training). And CrossFit uses all of these fitness modalities in its programming. There are actually 10 skills at the foundation of everything you do in CrossFit, according to Rich Froning ("The Fittest Man In History"): cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, accuracy, agility, and balance.
"Most of the movements you do in CrossFit are compound movements, meaning they recruit muscles from all over your body," says physical therapist and certified strength coach Grayson Wickham, D.P.T., C.S.C.S. For instance, when you're doing a lift like the snatch, squat, or deadlift, you're activating and therefore strengthening all of your muscles from head to toe. (Related: 9 Reasons More Women Should Be Olympic Weightlifting)
In fact, one 2017 study found that compound movements (also called multi-joint exercises) are more effective for improving strength and general fitness compared to single-joint exercises like the biceps curl, calf raise, or leg curl.
2. You'll torch serious calories during the workout.
When researchers from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse looked at women who do CrossFit, they found that they burned 12 or more calories per minute. Their conclusion: "CrossFit works... Based on the high intensity of the workouts tested, [we] conclude that CrossFit does a really good job of helping exercisers improve their aerobic fitness while burning a fair number of calories in the process."
The reason why comes back to the fact that CrossFit uses compound exercises, says Tony Carvajal, certified CrossFit trainer with RSP Nutrition. "The more muscles being used, the more calories you're going to burn," he says. FYI, you don't necessarily have to pick up weights to score the benefits of compound moves; bodyweight CrossFit staples like burpees, muscle-ups, and handstands will light up your whole body too.
3. That calorie burn will continue post-WOD.
Most CrossFit workouts (aka workout of the day or WOD) will include some weightlifting, and lifting weights doesn't just torch calories mid-workout, but after it too. That's because your muscle mass is one of the main determining factors of your metabolic rate-how many calories you burn just by living, explains Wickham.
"In CrossFit, you're going to gain muscle. More muscle mass means a faster metabolism," he says. "Faster metabolism means burning more calories all day long." (Here's everything you need to know about metabolism, muscle, and fat.)
There's also the "afterburn effect" (also known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption or EPOC) which says that the more intense the exercise is, the more oxygen your body consumes afterward, and therefore the more calories you burn even after you've left the gym. (You only need to watch two-time champion of the CrossFit Games Annie Thorisdottir work out to know that CrossFit is intense). That post-workout calorie burn is usually 6 to 15 percent of the total calories you burned while exercising. Not too shabby, CrossFit.
4. You could lose weight.
Losing weight isn't everyone's goal going into CrossFit, but if it's yours, "CrossFit is one of the most effective workouts for weight loss," says Carvajal. That's because all of the health and fitness benefits of CrossFit listed thus far-especially the increased lean muscle mass and the revved-up metabolism-contribute to reducing body fat and burning more calories overall.
In fact, one study found CrossFit participants had significant improvements in body composition (and aerobic capacity) after 10 weeks regardless of their fitness level at the start of the program.
There's a psychological component of CrossFit that makes it effective as a weight-loss program too, says physical therapist D.R. Ebner, P.T., C.S.C.S., at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. "The community will keep you coming back. It'll keep you on track and make you 10 times more likely to show up," he says. (More on that here: Why Consistency Is the Single Most Important Thing for Reaching Your Health and Weight-Loss Goals)
5. It's good for your heart.
Most CrossFit workouts don't look like traditional cardio training methods. Rather, some CrossFit WODs are only three minutes long. (Ashley Graham is also not about that traditional cardio life either. Evidence: Watch Ashley Graham Prove That Cardio Doesn't Have to Suck)
However, it's totally possible to get a cardiovascularly challenging workout in a short amount of time-even just three to five minutes, says CrossFit Games commentator and CrossFit Level 2 certified trainer Tanya Wagner of CrossFit Apex in Bucks County, PA. In fact, a study published in PLoS ONE found that just three minutes of all-out exercise per week significantly improved cardiometabolic health markers (including VO2 max and blood pressure) in overweight/obese adults.
6. You'll improve your mobility.
CrossFit may not look like traditional mobility-building practices like yoga and Pilates but, "CrossFit is actually one of the best exercise programs for enhancing mobility," according to Wickham, who is also the founder of Movement Vault, an online mobility program.
Quick refresher: Mobility is your ability to move a muscle or muscle group through a range of motion (ROM) in the joint socket with strength and control. (Here are more mobility basics you need to know.) Many movements in CrossFit simultaneously enhance ROM and strength. For example, try improving your mobility the CrossFit-approved way with this squat therapy drill.
7. It's safer than you probably think.
CrossFit gets a bad rap for being unsafe, but a 2018 review concluded that, while the sport has been scrutinized because of the supposed high incidence of injuries, none of these claims were supported by empirical evidence.
Another study found that people who work with hands-on coaches who help them through the movements have fewer injuries-and that's exactly what most CrossFit boxes offer. As for rhabdo, it's not any more common in CrossFit than in any other type of high-intensity exercise. (Related: 12 CrossFit Myths, Debunked)
8. It might even help reduce injury risk.
The best exercises to perform inside the gym are ones that mimic the movements you do outside the gym, says Wickham. (Think: Lifting an Amazon Prime package, sitting down and getting up from your desk, or schlepping a heavy duffle bag.) These are called functional movements-and they're the foundation of many CrossFit WODs.
"The whole point of doing functional movements as exercise is to keep your body in physical readiness for the demands of everyday life," explains Wagner. If people learn to properly move their bodies as an entire unit or machine, they'll be much more successful and safe during more demanding everyday tasks like shoveling snow or moving furniture, she says.
9. You'll become a better runner.
CrossFit improves your strength from head to toe, and that means improved performance whether you're an endurance athlete or sprinter. Research shows that running efficiency is improved when runners add two or three days of strength training to their workout routine every week.
Not to mention "CrossFit helps you strengthen your core," says Ebner. "A strong core helps transfer strength and utilize the strength throughout the rest of your body-including your arms and legs." Translation: more power per stride. Plus, a stronger core could improve your running form-which means a reduced risk of injury. (Boom: Why Runners Should Do CrossFit)
10. You could sleep better.
"There are a lot of lifestyle factors that come into play with how well you sleep," says Kevin Turcio, a CrossFit Level 2 certified trainer and owner of CrossFit Affinity in Stamford, CT. "In personal experience, CrossFit has helped me fall asleep." This could be simply due to the intensity involved in this kind of training, as upping the intensity of exercise has been shown to aid deep sleep.
Carvajal suggests that this effect is especially noticeable in folks who weren't regular exercisers previously. "Any type of exercise is likely to improve sleep quality; however, high-intensity training like CrossFit seems to be the most effective." (Related: How Sleep and Exercise Are Connected)
11. There are mental gains.
CrossFit doesn't only train your muscles-it trains your brain too. "CrossFit creates mental toughness," says Wagner. That's because CrossFit workouts give you the opportunity to use positive self-talk and push yourself through challenging moments.
"It allows you to self-evaluate and reflect once you've made it through whatever barrier you accomplished," says Wagner. "We see incredible changes in self-talk and mental positivity levels specifically in women and adolescent girls." (See: 25 Things All Women Who Lift Will Understand)
12. It's time-efficient.
Most classes are only one hour long and the WODs themselves are usually only three to 20 minutes long. Seriously! (The rest of the class includes a warm-up, a cool-down, and sometimes an additional weightlifting portion.) "People are always surprised how wiped they are after such a short workout," says Turcio. (Try one of these 12 CrossFit WODs that coaches love to see what she means.)
Plus, a review of 13 studies published in Obesity Reviews found that both continuous moderate-intensity training and HIIT training resulted in similar reductions in waist circumference and fat loss-but HIIT required about 40 percent less training time to do so. Another study even found that short bouts of HIIT is superior to moderate-intensity "slow and go" training for improving cardiovascular fitness.
13. You'll look jacked.
Toned. Lean. Jacked. Built. Defined. Muscular. Whatever word you use to indicate "looks fit AF," CrossFit will get you there. (BTW, here's why lifting heavy won't make you bulk up.)
Combine those muscle-building, fat-burning benefits with sound nutritional choices, stress management, and proper sleep, and you'll earn a defined look, says Wickham. (Need more proof? Follow some of these badass professional CrossFit athletes on Instagram.)
14. You get a built-in cheer squad.
Friendly PSA: If you're in the ~no new friends~ club, CrossFit isn't for you. That's because throwing around weights and learning new gymnastics skills together has the amazing ability to create lasting friendships and a sound support system. There's even science to prove it! A recent research review concluded that CrossFit is associated with a sense of community, satisfaction, and motivation. (And it's not exactly breaking news that having a #fitfam helps people reach their fitness goals: Why having a fitness buddy is literally the best thing ever.)
"The community will support you and encourage you and keep you accountable to your goals," says Carvajal. "Being in an environment like this can only lead to bettering yourself in and out of the gym."
15. You'll have fun.
Yes. F-U-N. Research shows that, for many people, hard workouts are actually more fun. So, sure, CrossFit may be hard, but you'll be reaping a whole lot of benefits-like the 14 above-and having a good time doing it.

The Best 20 Amazon Purchases of 2018
Tumblr media
Raise your hand if you spend too much time and money on Amazon. Keep it raised if you still love it no matter what!! Because that is me lol. I rounded up my favorite 20 items (narrowing this list down was hard!) that I bought on Amazon this past year for you and I to enjoy..
Tech Accessories:
Tumblr media
1. Aputure mini LED light -- I got this off the recommendation from Olivia and have found it SUPER helpful when shooting in low light situations. It packs a serious punch in something the size of your palm. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be situated on top of my camera but I really just use it for an extra light source with my hands (or with Andrews since he's usually taking the photo).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Phone cases with straps -- (Top/Bottom) I originally got these for Disney so I would always be sure I had my phone (I've really been losing it lately!!) and ended up loving them both a lot more than I was expecting. I really just wanted the look of a trunk phone case and both fit these needs perfectly, but more importantly I really love the strap it comes with. No more franticly patting your pockets looking for your phone!
Beauty:
Tumblr media
3. SunBum Zinc Oxide -- I'm sure no one is thinking about sunblock yet but when you do, remember that this stuff is the BEST. It's pure zinc oxide so it's about as healthy as you can find a sunblock and it really works well (I know because I BURNED my leg where I forgot to put it).
Tumblr media
4. Image Skincare SPF Moisturizer -- This is nothing new here on the blog but just want to mention  it again seeing as the MOST important thing you can do to prevent wrinkles is to wear SPF every day. And the easiest way to do that is to make it apart of your moisturizer. This one (I have VERY sensitive and acne prone skin) will not clog your pores and will give you a nice a refreshed/dewy finish. And it's only $39!
Tumblr media
5. Zero K Cooling Wipes -- I found these at my hot yoga studio and they, very simply, are mint scented cooling wipes that will refresh just about any body. These would be amazinggggg in the summer. I buy these small little 5 pack of wipes and keep them in my bag just incase!
Tumblr media
6. $16 Ice Roller -- Ah yes yes yes my favorite ice roller!! If you don't ice roll, you need to. Read about why in this blog post, it will give you a full in-depth look into the magic of ice rolling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Acrylic Makeup Storage -- (top/bottom) I have a TON of makeup and I swear it's the hardest thing to keep organized and clean. These help. I didn't want to go spending like $80 on something from the container store so I found these and they do the trick. They are both durable and easy to move around and organize. I think I just need more of them!
Kitchen:
Tumblr media
8. Tovo Sphere Ice Molds -- Possibly the best $18 I've spent on Andrew this year! He LOVES these for his drinks. Not only do they look super cool, they are perfect for any drink on the rocks. It creates the ideal sphere mold that keeps your drink cold but doesn't dissolve that quickly. I'm amazed at how easy they are to use.
Tumblr media
9. Salad Chopper and Bowl -- Another favorite of Andrew's in the kitchen, this bowl and chopper makes it SO easy to create a chop salad. And the bowl is big too! It can hold a ton of stuff and chops it all up in just a couple seconds.
Tumblr media
10. Lemon/Lime Squeeze -- Aka the thing you never knew you needed. This is the best (although I did find out last time I used it I put it in wrong which just about changed my life). A must have for any kitchen!
Tumblr media
11. Glass Storage Containers -- They are on sale for $39! You get a pack of 13 and they all fit nice and neatly into one another so they are super easy to store and use. But these are awesome. They keep the food longer, they are better for the environment and are safer to use than plastic. Plus they are really well made and easy to use so it's kind of a no brainier.
Home:
Tumblr media
12. Spine Book Stand -- Possibly the most expensive thing on this list but easily one of my top ones! I fell in love with how it looks after seeing Grace's post about it. It's such  fun and cool way to store and showcase your books. Although I find myself needing a second one, I really do love this so much!
Tumblr media
13. Floating Shelf -- Another find by Grace, this is the perfect item for your bathroom (or wherever you may need) but it's just a floating shelf you can store things on and I have one in my shower and I love it and use it daily.
Wellness:
Tumblr media
  14. Collagen Beauty Shots -- Collagen was the "big" thing this year and I found love for it in these little shot bottles from Image Skincare. I would store them in the fridge and take one every morning. I love the taste of them and I did see a slight change in the texture of my skin.
Tumblr media
15. KT Tape -- Maybe a little boring but I could not get over how much these helped my workout when my knee was acting up. How is it that tape can help your bones and joints during a workout? If you remember during my BBG stint, the jumping and roughness on my knees was a major problem (one that probably lead me to stop completely) and this I found was my one major solve!
Tumblr media
16. Collagen Peptides -- More collagen! These are more expensive than the full cans but they are so easy to use and bring on the go with you. Just tear one open, pour it in and you're done! Speaking of which, I need to get back into making smoothies. I loveeeeedddd my smoothies!
Tumblr media
17. Dry Brush Set -- Another thing I need to get back into is dry brushing. It's supposed to be great for your skin and overall wellness and is something that took a major backseat in the second half of 2018.
Tumblr media
18. Ear Buddies (for AirPods) -- Do your AirPods ever fall out when you're bopping around at the gym or during a run? These little silicone slips are super super easy to use and put on and make sure they stay in all day without falling out. Easy to lose, yes, but really great to use!
Fashion:
Tumblr media
19. Plush Fleece Lined Leggings -- Fleece lined leggings, need I say more?? They are so so soft and about as warm as you'll find in a legging. They are also the MOST high waisted which I love. I've been living in these since I got them in November.
Tumblr media
20. ASICS Gel-Fit Yui Cross-Trainer -- Another item purchased during my knee problem era that also made a really big difference in helping me workout. Who knew a lot of popular sneakers weren't very good and supporting your joints when you workout? Thankfully I found a pair that are cute AND good for your feet!
And so that is IT! Whew there was a lot. I love love love shopping on Amazon so this was fun for me to write about and I also hope you enjoyed it as well! Do you have a favorite item you bought on Amazon this year? Would love to know below and find some new things!

Table of Contents
Some dogs need more than a plain old collar. Whether your dog pulls on the leash, has mobility constraints, or is easily distracted, a harness may be your new best friend. It’s less stressful on your dog’s neck and provides you with more control on walks.
Harnesses come in a variety of styles and uses. Before buying a dog harness, consider the following:
Safety and durability. Can you adjust the fit? Will it hold up to extensive use?
Comfort. Is it designed to keep your dog feeling comfy while in use? Does it avoid putting pressure on their throat and neck? Is it adjustable for a solid fit?
Cost. Is it affordable? A good harness is an investment, so don’t go for the bargain. But you should be able to find a good option at a reasonable price.
Style. Your dog may not care what they look like, and utility should be your primary goal in selecting a harness. But that doesn’t mean you can’t look for something spiffy
Whatever kind of dog you have, there’s a harness to suit them. We know because, well, the Rover community walks a lot of dogs.
The Best Dog Harnesses for Every Kind of Dog
The harnesses we’ve rounded up here are recommended based on a combination of in-house testing (indicated by verified reviews), well-researched online reviews, and my own experience as a dog owner of two rescue pit bulls. Read on for the dog harnesses we recommend, plus a bonus list of additional harnesses we like.
One of two Ruffwear picks on our list, the Front Range is a perfect go-to harness for any dog. It slips over your dog’s neck, and with one sturdy clip, you’re ready to go. The softly padded chest provides comfort and a secure fit, and its rugged materials keep it safe in all weather.
Why we like it:
Four adjustment points for a custom fit
Comes in lots of colors for visibility and style
ID pocket lets you slip in tags or a paper note for easy identification.
Verified review: “I loved how durable the harness looked and felt. The padding on the chest plate felt comfortable to the touch, and I think this harness will be gentle on my dog’s skin. I also loved that this harness offers both front and back clips. My dog is not a big puller when she walks, so I’ve never felt the need to look for a front-clip harness—but now that the Ruffwear offers both options, I’ll definitely be trying out both leash positions.”
Find on Amazon Find at REI
This padded harness is great for deep-chested big dog breeds like German Shepherds and Boxers. Its adjustable straps ensure a good fit, and the metal D-ring leash attachment point is heavy-duty and secure. As a bonus, the Expawlorer harness has a reflective strip across the top for safe walking in low light.
Why we like it:
Extra-thick straps for comfort and support
Handle on back offers more control
Comes in lots of vibrant colors
Find on Amazon
The Puppia harness is a best seller for a reason. Its soft, lightweight mesh is comfortable for your smaller dog. In addition, the material is durable and easy to clean, so it can handle a muddy winter walk. Best of all, the Puppia harness comes in tons of bright colors for the fashionable little dog on the go. Sizes run small, so be sure to double-check the size chart and measure your dog before ordering!
Why we like it:
Soft material won’t rub or irritate your dog’s delicate underarm skin
Webbed material distributes force evenly across chest
Adjustable neck and chest straps help ensure dogs can’t back out of the harness
Verified review: “The large fits my 20-pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel very well as he has a deep chest. The medium also fit but I didn’t feel it was long enough for him. It’s really nice not having to pull the harness over his face and ears! I prefer this version to the original. He seems very content wearing it for walks and car rides—so much so that he tends to pull a bit while wearing it—he doesn’t pull while wearing other types of harnesses.”
Shop on Chewy
For dogs who walk like they’re pulling a wagon, a no-pull dog harness can make all the difference. My dog trainer recommended the Freedom harness, and I agree it’s effective. It may look basic, but its ingenious design with the front clip saved my back (and arms, and everything else) when my dog was at his pulling-est. Online reviewers praise it for its gentle control. It comes with a double-connection training leash too.
Why we like it:
Four adjustment points for a safe, comfortable fit
Dog owners who have reviewed this harness rave over how well it prevents pulling, and how comfortable their dogs are in the harness
Comes in lots of bright colors
Verified review: “This is sturdy and well made: The straps that go under the belly/into the armpits are soft and velvety. I like that this harness seems pretty inescapable and gives me control when my dog pulls and is reactive. You can clip in the front or back, and it’s easy to figure out which side is which because the straps are different colors.”
Shop on Chewy
Pugs, Boston Terriers, and other brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds need harnesses that protect their necks from pressure. Pug enthusiasts love the PetSafe Easy Walk harness because its strong, adjustable straps help distribute pressure evenly across the dog’s chest and belly.
Why we like it:
Quick-snap buckles make it easy to put on and take off
Differently colored straps make it easy to put on correctly every time
Strong, soft nylon is secure and easy to clean
Shop on Chewy
Best Walk-to-Car Harness: Kurgo Tru-Fit (Verified Review)
Do you drive your dog to a walking trail? If so, you’ll want to buckle them up for the ride. The Kurgo Tru-Fit harness is designed with safety in mind and is crash-rated for dogs weighing up to 75 lbs. Best of all, unlike many car-restraint harness systems, the Kurgo Tru-Fit is equally comfortable and useful as a walking harness.
Why we like it:
Several adjustment points for a secure fit
Padded chest plate and wide straps keep your dog comfortable
Comes with a seatbelt tether to secure your dog in the car
Verified review: “The fit was spot on. Whiskey is a Boxer mix, medium-sized (45 lbs) and has a very broad chest but tiny waist. Sometimes it’s hard to find harnesses or coats that are big enough for his chest area. This one was perfect! Whiskey is a leash-puller, so it’s nice to have the option to clip in front or back. The firm fit gave better support and Whiskey seemed to like it a lot on our walk to the beach.”
Shop on Chewy
If you frequently walk your dog in the dark, this light-up LED harness is a must-have. It comes in sizes small to extra large, fitting dogs weighing anywhere from 10 to 100 pounds. The adjustable straps ensure a secure fit, and the bright, colorful LED lights mean you’ll be seen wherever you walk.
Why we like it:
Rainproof and machine washable for easy clean-up
Comes in sizes to fit dogs from Chihuahuas to Labs and anything in between
The bright, multi-colored lights will make you visible on even the darkest night (plus, they’re just plain fun!)
Shop on Chewy
If you have a medium- to large-sized dog who backs out of other harnesses, the Ruffwear Web Master Pro is an option to consider. It’s my personal choice for my dog because the chest and belly straps keep him securely harnessed, while the extra padding keeps him comfortable. Online reviewers praise the safety of this model and say it’s equally useful for active younger dogs and aging dogs who need a little help. Designed for working dogs and canine adventure companions.
Why we like it:
A handle for controlled, balanced lifting
A customizable fit with adjustable, foam-padded straps
Two secure leash attachment points
Reflective trim for visibility
Find on Amazon
This low-cost pick has a lot in common with other harnesses on the list. The spongey padding and breathable mesh are comfortable for your dog, while the strong handles and connection points give you plenty of control. A good bargain is meaningless if the quality isn’t good, but luckily, reviews for this harness are very high. It’s a great all-purpose harness at a very pleasing price!
Why we like it:
Comes in five different sizes and colors
Reflective striping makes your dog easier to see in the dark
No pressure around your dog’s neck
Shop on Chewy
Other Great Dog Harnesses
In addition to the nine best harnesses above, these are some other well-reviewed harnesses you can buy online today.
Step-in harnesses that buckle in the back are great for small dogs who can’t wear a traditional collar or front-attaching harness. This colorful choice from Best Pet Supplies is made with plushy fleece and super-strong velcro to keep your dog comfy. Plus, it comes in five color options!
What we like about it:
Velcro, clip, and D-ring closures work together to provide a custom, secure fit
Easy to put on and take off
Cozy fleece padding with reflective striping helps with visibility at night and early morning
Shop on Chewy
If you and your pooch enjoy walking at night, you’ll appreciate the ultra-bright reflective stitching on this versatile harness from Rabbitgoo. With back and front leash attachments, plus a handy back handle for extra control in tight spaces, it gives you tons of options for walking your dog. Please note that this harness is recommended for medium-sized breeds.
What we like about it:
Comes in four sizes and colors
Designed to withstand weather all year round
Four adjustable straps for a custom fit
Verified review: Our reviewer liked the quality, ease of use, and fit of this harness, though found its no-pull claims to be lackluster when she used it with her puller of a puggle. “Even though it has a chest hook in the front, it does not provide any control over your dog if you hook your leash there.” She found instead that the harness worked better with the D-ring on the back. (There is the option of using two leashes, one clipped to the front and one clipped to the back, for extra control).
Find on Amazon
This slick silver harness has a unique triangular design that distributes pressure and makes for easy adjustments to fit your big dog. The locking attachment points are extra-secure for dogs who pull, and there’s a top handle to grab and use when your dog needs extra control or help getting over an obstacle on the trail. Reviewers love the cute dog print on the chest, too.
What we like about it:
Breathable and weather-resistant material
Appropriate for dogs with large chests
Front and back D-rings
Find on Amazon
Here’s a bright, no-pull harness that comes in every color of the rainbow and then some. Get a couple of different colors to match your dog’s mood! But it’s not just fashionable: with quick-snap buckles, two sturdy metal leash attachment points, and a dual-elastic construction, it’s comfy and safe for your dog to wear for hours.
What we like about it:
Chest strap includes a lock for extra security
Reflective stitching helps with night and early morning visibility
Three adjustable straps for increased comfort and safety
Find on Amazon
Looking for a comfy step-in vest harness for your dog? This one is cute and practical, with strong double-layer mesh to keep your pup comfortable. It comes in a wide array of colors to match any dog’s personality. And it’s a great deal! Reviewers note how important it is to measure your dog to find the correct fit.
What we like about it:
Eco-friendly: made from recycled material
Designed to ensure puppies and small dogs won’t slip out
Easy to put on with just one buckle and adjustable strap
Shop on Chewy
This durable, lightweight car harness has a broad padded chest plate for extra protection and comfort. The large leash connection loop makes it easy to hook up a leash and take off on a walk, and the included seat belt attachment keeps your dog securely clicked in on the road. It’s a versatile, adjustable harness that goes from walks to car rides in a snap. And reviewers love the low price point for quality materials.
What we like about it:
Comes in eight colors and four sizes
No pressure around your dog’s neck
Two chest straps are great for dogs who don’t like to step into a harness
Find on Amazon
Why You Should (or Shouldn’t) Use a Harness
Using a harness in addition to a collar makes it easier to manage your dog on a leash. Plus, harnesses have other advantages:
They offer better control on walks
They discourage pulling by redirecting your dog
Harnesses can double as mobility aids for dogs who need a little help getting up and down
If your dog has a habit of backing out of their collar, a harness can be a literal life-saver
Brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds sometimes have trouble with collars that put pressure on their necks. A harness helps redistribute pressure and keeps your Pug or Frenchie breathing easy.
Despite all the advantages of harnesses, some dogs still do better with a collar. In particular, if your dog loves to pull from the chest, or gets easily tangled in their leash, a flat collar may be just fine. But for many dogs, the right harness can make a world of difference.
