Get the Best VPN for Mobile | SmartersVPN
When it comes to protecting your online privacy and security on a mobile device, Best VPN for Mobile is an essential tool. A VPN encrypts your internet connection and routes your traffic through an intermediary server, making it difficult for anyone to track your online activities or steal your personal information. The VPN should also be easy to use, with a user-friendly interface and a simple setup process. Additionally, it's best to look for a VPN that offers a kill switch that will automatically disconnect your internet in case of a VPN connection drops.

List of programs and stuff I use
[pt: List of programs and stuff I use ./end pt]
Disclaimer: This is in no way trying to say I have the best setup of all time or anything. The point of this post is mostly to introduce people to cool things they may not know about, or a place to point to when someone asks what I use!
(Last updated: 6/28/24)
Browser
[pt: browser ./end pt]
Firefox (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS) - Obviously I recommend Firefox above all else, especially with chromium-based browsers moving onto manifest V3.
Bitwarden (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS) - Good password manager! Used it for years with no complaints!
AdNauseam (Firefox/Chrome) - My adblocker. It's built upon uBlock Origin and has all the same features, but it actively clicks on the ads to waste advertiser money. If that's not up your alley, uBlock Origin is fantastic too!
Wayback Machine extension (Firefox/Chrome/Safari) - Allows you to make snapshots of pages, or view old snapshots if a page isn't loading correctly!
XKit ReWritten (Firefox/Chrome) - Pretty much a must-have for Tumblr. Has a ton of features to make navigating this site much better. Full feature list here!
Discord
[pt: Discord ./end pt]
Vencord (Windows/Linux/MacOS) - A modified Discord client that adds support for plugins and themes. Basically allows you to install plugins from a massive list that improves Discord. (Technically against ToS. Basically, don't post that you're using it in big servers, and turn off your themes before sharing screenshots.)
Bunny (Android/IOS) - If you miss Vendetta for Discord, Bunny is an actively maintained fork of Vendetta! Basically the same as above, but for Android/IOS instead of desktop. Same warnings about ToS apply.
Aliucord (Android) - Miss the old Android app feel, and still want to have plugins/themes? Pretty cool but has a less impressive theme/plugin selection. Same warnings about ToS apply.
Bluecord (Android) - Another Discord modification without the new Discord UI!
Youtube
[pt: Youtube ./end pt]
Freetube (Windows/Linux/MacOS) - A desktop Youtube client with adblock and sponsorblock built in. Still in beta, but very good.
Sponsorblock (Firefox/Chrome) - Pretty much a must-have for watching Youtube these days. Automatically skips over sponsors, self-promos, interaction bait, outros, intros, etc. Highly configurable!
Dearrow (Firefox/Chrome) - Haven't used this very long but I love it. Gets rid of vague or clickbait titles/thumbnails and replaces it with descriptive and more accurate thumbnails. Also built into Freetube now!
Newpipe (Android) - Lightweight Youtube client. I haven't used it myself much but people swear by it!
ReVanced (Android) - Modded Youtube client with Sponsorblock, Return Youtube Dislike, and Youtube Premium features. Doesn't support Dearrow as of 6/25/24 :( (PLEASE BE CAREFUL INSTALLING THIS. If you don't know what you're doing, you can cause some damage!)
Spotify
[pt: spotify ./end pt]
Spicetify (Windows/Linux/MacOS) - Spotify modded client. Has adblock, themes, etc! Think Vencord, but for Spotify.
Misc.
[pt: Misc ./End pt]
Obsidian (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS) - Basically a personal wiki for notetaking! A bit of a learning curve. Fanfic writers and worldbuilders... go feral.
Notepad++ (Windows) - A must-have text editor. Might be on more platforms but can't confirm?
Mullvad VPN (Windows/Android) - The only VPN I can 100% recommend. Cheap, fast, and really cares about your privacy. It's a little under $6 USD a month!
NVDA (Windows) - A free screenreader I use for reading large blocks of text. (Notice: I am not visually impaired to the point I rely on a screenreader to navigate my PC. I use it on occasion to read text to me because I have a hard time reading. If you're looking for advice on screenreaders for the visually impaired unfortunately I'm not a good source! Maybe check out the #visually impaired, #blind, or #accessibility?)
Syncthing (Windows/Linux/MacOS/Android) - Lets you sync folders across devices. It's especially good with Obsidian.
"Tequito, I didn't find what I wanted!"
[pt: "Tequito, I didn't find what I wanted!" ./end pt]
I'm sorry. :( If you're looking for a program I have personally mentioned using in the past, feel free to shoot me an ask or DM! Or hey... maybe try searching the letters "FMHY" and having a look around? *wink*

Also you mentioned a VPN, but are there any free ones? Specifically like a Firefox extension or something like that? I can't pay money for one, and i'm gonna switch to Firefox soon anyways (long story). Also ik I said this before but thx for the kitties :D
I'm not very knowledgeable on PC VPNs but I found this article linking some
What you've got to be aware is that if they're free they're always gonna have limitations.
For your phone I'm only knowledgeable on Android. Opera has a built in limited VPN. It works only on the Opera browser though.
However I've found an app that basically works as a VPN for your whole phone
It's limited in servers and I recommend you keep checking the VPN symbol from time to time as after a while it automatically turns off the VPN I think but it works for all apps that use your location which is really good.
I went looking and found this one that has a bunch more server options
It can have very long ads but that's the price for being free. Using it right now and it works 👍
I've now also tried this third option
At first it may appear like it has more options than the last one but don't be fooled! Most of the servers are premium. It does have better options if you want your location to be the US or Canada but that's mostly it. The Super Unlimited Proxy is better for European server options.
Well that's what I found for free! I hope it helps even if I know it's probable that you have an Apple device instead of Android because that's the US norm. —_—

Wait are you playing tomodachi life on your phone lol? How? (<- cannot find aer tomodachi life cartridge for xyr old 3DS)
if you have an android phone or any computer you can get citra then you're gonna grab the rom of whatever game you like, there's a lot of sites for this but i like myrient because the roms from there are automatically decrypted, then you just. extract the files and boot them up in citra and you're plain sailing. for tomodachi life specifically you'll need to run a file called errfix.3dsx so the emulator can handle miis properly, i got it from here
keep in mind that while none of these downloads individually required a vpn, the big bad company has been cracking down hard on emulation recently (citra itself has been officially discontinued) so sometimes it can take a little digging to find the right stuff. ALSO, it varies from game to game but for tomodachi life i've found it's not the best emulation ever, certain areas lead to a lot of slowdown and audio stuttering, this would probably be resolved on a computer since my phone isn't that powerful but what can you do

vpn is a thing and i'm not sure what you mean by the bigot thing because i'm talking about the asks that ask you questions about your ex-friends, not the hate asks (which btw while some have valid points, you do get weirdo ones too). it's either her or the rebuttal mods sending the ones talking about your ex-friends because i can't believe anyone else is that invested in the lore or is so hung up on your ex-friends (also arty is still misgendering hussel in the asks to you) regardless, i do hope you're doing well in the psych ward, and you're able to detox from everything that has gone on and hopefully learn to move on from this. that's good healing. is a bit disappointing tho that you're still talking obsessively about your ex-friends (who aren't stalkers or your abusers or fans but whatever) despite many of them not talking about you anymore, or only when your rebuttal blog wants to stir. again: if you and your close irl friends who run the rebuttal blog just. stop. they will stop. maybe try not saying anything about them for a week and see what happens?
I know which messages are hers and which aren't based on how theyre phrased and what phone they're coming from, most of the messages are coming from an Android and she has an iphone. I went with her when she went to go get it.
There are people that are invested, I know Ambrose and Jack are still watching from a weird distance and while I think both of them are genuinely fucking insane even though I feel bad for Ambrose for how we treated him and I'm not going to call him a friend because he wasn't, he's entitled prick best and an enabled and a hypocrite at worst.
TBH I hope you realize that even when I'm not on my phone here Arty has any chance to call me that she can use and has used it before, her host will call me about important things and bring my mail and food sometimes but it's mostly just Arty as a concept and not her entire system. When the mods call me to talk about this I'll usually just hang out because I don't like being a stressed as I am and it's not helping me get any better.
I'm not as obsessed as you think I am, this blog's queue runs about six times a day and I schedule some stuff randomly in advance but most my recovery is talking about being a victim of stalking, actual stalking and dealing with being in an abusive family and possibly never able to get out of it.
I'm calling my ex friends "my fans" because of how much they're genuinely obsessed with the situation and will not shut up about it, to the point where mutual friends who don't know everything or that who's doing what or who the alleged stalker might be have brought it up to me and vague concern for both sides.
Last time I checked rebuttal mostly runs on submissions in a very crappy version of the queue, I don't care what they do and I've told them to politely keep me out of it to the point where I have them blocked and they if
I gave up on being friends with Roma a long time ago and asked them multiple times to not come to my job but they chose to anyway, I'm not going to comment about them possibly scamming money after they accused me of doing the same thing because it's not worth it.
The best thing I can recommend is for everyone to drop everything so there won't be any more submissions. The only reason why I keep this blog up to begin with is so someone doesn't steal the username and roleplay as me or something and there's other things I want to talk about on here

If you're looking to get some pirated media I'd reccomend torrenting. First you need an app to download the torrent files to, the most popular ones are bitTorrent and µTorrent. BitTorrent works on mac, windows and android. µTorrent works on mac, linux, windows and android.
From there there are many torrenting sites you can use to get your desired media such as; YTS.mx, 1337x, Pirate's Bay, etc.
You can then download the torrent file of your choice. I won't get into details here about the process of downloading the files because I'm bad at explaining things but there are lots of guides online you should look up.
Also a few things to note:
I'd reccomend using a VPN if you don't already to protect your IP from possibly malicious files. An antivirus program is good too, windows defender is pretty good but there are certainly better antivirus programs out there (unfortunately the best are paywalled)
In torrenting you'll come across the terms leecher and seeder. Seeders are people who share the files and leechers are people who download the files through seeders. The more seeders the quicker a file will download. Also after you leech a file it's considered good etiquette to share it because there needs to be a good balance of seeders and leechers for a file to download properly, and with no seeders to share a file the file will not work.
Most torrenting sites will have a review system or a commenting system to check the comments and reviews to see if a torrent is trustworthy
Also if the site you're using allows it, sort by the most seeded, if lots of people are seeding the file then you know it's safe
DO NOT download .exe files if you're downloading movies, music or tv shows, they're guaranteed to be viruses
Anyways, hope this helps and good luck on your pirating journey!
ive been actually meaning to get into torrenting so this helps alot thank you!! saving this for later

how i pirate music
i'm seeing old posts hating on spotify circulating again, so i'll describe how i listen to music without paying for streaming
discovery through cracked spotify
i discover a lot of music through cracked versions of spotify. i'm in a number of circles that do music shares and i stream recommendations a few times before i decide to download anything
windows
i use the spot x modified client on my desktop: https://github.com/amd64fox/SpotX/. be sure to cancel your spotify subscription and remove your payment information before logging into any cracked version of spotify
android
these websites come and go, but you should be able to look up "spotify apk" and find a one button installation. you can get an up-to-date safe link by visiting the database in this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ApksApps/comments/pcy1io/apksapps_official_megathread_apksme/
mac
i don't want to put anything weird on my work computer, which uses mac os, but if i control the music through my phone, then select my mac as the audio output device via spotify, i can listen ad free. here's the feature if you've not used it before: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/spotify-connect/
downloading music
file share
i download almost everything with soulseek, a p2p file sharing program: http://www.soulseekqt.net/. first you'll make a directory of music that you already have (say, from bandcamp) and soulseek will broadcast that to the world. you can then search other people's files for music you want and download it there
torrenting
i use the torrent client deluge: https://deluge-torrent.org/ and get my links from https://www.1377x.to/. you should use a vpn when torrenting; i happen to use surfshark because it's cheap. it is not perfect and if you want to torrent stuff there's better guides out there explaining how to do it safely
paying, but sticking it to the man
i buy more music now than i ever did when paying for streaming. i personally just use bandcamp, but i know people who use/rip CDs and other physical media. it's nice to support small artists and to upload big artists onto soulseek so other people can find it
audio quality
downloaded music is likely going to be higher quality than streamed music. if you don't know anything about audio quality i'd recommend downloading 320kps mp3 files. you can add a minbitrate filter at the bottom of your soulseek window. you've probably heard of FLAC before, but if you want to see how deep it goes, look up DSD or SACD
listening to downloaded music
windows
i use foobar2000: https://www.foobar2000.org/. it's designed to be modular and customizable, so it takes a little fiddling to get running. to start using it, i recommend: making a playlist and adding a file location of all your music (which should be your soulseek up and down directories). you can later make playlists of specific albums and tracks. then, look online for components like a theme or last.fm scrobbles if you want that kind of thing. last.fm scrobbles can be a great way to discover new music
android
foobar2000 recently released a mobile version but i haven't tried that yet. i use vinyl music player for no reason in particular: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.poupa.vinylmusicplayer
final notes
this isn't about doing music better; i just happen to like doing things this way. i still hang out and listen to my friends' cytube on loop. i blast nightcore on youtube. the goal is to listen to music and have a good time so do whatever is best for you

Thanks for the response! Is there any way to use and download torrents from ur phone?
hey no worries at all! i genuinely have no idea about apple, i think it's possible on a jailbroken one but don't take my word for it. as for android, it's super easy. i'll put it under the cut in a step by step for you 💚 if you end up with any more questions, lemme know /gen
step 1: some torrent sites don't work without a vpn (or at least in australia). there's a bunch of free ones in the play store. i used to use proton vpn but they ended up wanting money for the basics. you will also need a torrent downloader which i will list here too.
tunnelbear vpn is okay if you aren't downloading a lot, because it does give a cap on how much mb you can use with the free version.
Tumblr media
i recently found one called thunder vpn and i love it! it's free (you only get connections to like 3 countries i think, but you only need it to connect to one so that isn't really an issue. i like to connect to america because it works best majority of the time)
Tumblr media
for the vpn, you only need it when searching for what torrent to get. i'll explain more in the next step!
for the torrent downloader, i use torrdroid. there's many out there, like bittorrent, utorrent, flud, libretorrent, etc. torrdroid hasn't let me down yet!
Tumblr media
step 3: turn your vpn on. you can let it choose the strongest server or you can choose which country/server you want to connect to out of the list.
Tumblr media
or
Tumblr media Tumblr media
step 4: find your torrent! there's a bunch of sites (rip proxyrarbg, you will forever be missed bbygirl 💔)
the best one i have found as a replacement to the late proxyrarbg is call eztv
Tumblr media
there's also solidtorrents, torrentgalaxy, 1337x, and rarbggo
i'll use eztv for this process, but they all work similarly.
also here is the direct link to the 911 eps on eztv so you don't have to search for it!
step 5: choose the episode/season you want to download. i'll just use 7x04 as an example. i always use 1080p over 720p just because i like the higher quality for gifs and fanvids. but 720p is perfectly fine if you want to save storage.
Tumblr media
step 6: click the button that says torrent download. this is just the file. the actual torrent download comes next after you have acquired the file.
Tumblr media
sometimes it can pop up with an ad but not every time, and they're never harmful, just annoying. just close it and click the torrent download button again. it then should pop up with a little downloading notification in your chrome/internet browser.
Tumblr media
while it's downloading, go back into your vpn and turn it off. (idk if it's just me, but i can't have the vpn on while downloading the actual torrent in the torrent app, because if i do, it just won't download)
go back into chrome/internet browser, and hopefully it is on the screen like this for ease.
Tumblr media
but if not, that's fine. you can just go to your downloads or even find it in your phone files. there's many ways to do this, but this next one is the next easiest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
step 7: open up the torrent file in your torrent downloader by clicking the file. if you have multiple downloaders it will prompt you to choose which one you want to use. it will start downloading! pay no attention to the time remaining, it's like the computer, never accurate lol. but if it continues to go up and eventually hit the infinity symbol then u need to delete and find a new file. it happens to a lot of older shows/movies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
step 8 (optional): you can watch the video in most preinstalled photo galleries with android, but if you would like to watch with subtitles you can download a media player called xplayer. it has an ad pop up when you pause a vid in it, but they don't come up randomly or anything. it's the best one i have found for free. i haven't updated mine because this phone is shit and won't allow the update lmao, so just ignore that.
