A Great Ship; Chloe x Jean Jacques

I wanna talk about why Chloe and Jean Jacques are written as one of the best partners that ever exists.

1- Its important

In many stories, sometimes, being involved with love decrease character’s worth in story because it doesnt really related to theme of story or its written as consistent. Like, contsantly watching same things over and over. But thats not the case with Chloe and JJ because their relationship is also really important for their character arc. They have their own character arcs and relationship between them is ultimately important.

Both Chloe and Jj are characters who dont really have self worth, thats why they are unable to fight for theirselves but they can fight for each other’s sake. JJ became a monster to take revenge for Chloe and Chloe fought against Naeni to take revenge for JJ. Not only it came as plot twist, its surprising and unexpected so it is interesting but its also related to the story. Its not some extra romance story. Its there and its important for the fact that its there.

2- It makes sense why they love each others

As much as, yes, love is just somethig you might feel but there is always a reason why you specifically attached to someone. In many other stories, whether its not really explained well or it seems nothing more than obsession but thats not the case with them. Both Chloe and JJ have their own life problems, they both met each others when they had noone in their lifes. They were lonely and they found each others. Their relationship become a light for them. Not kind of relationship where one of them just love other one out of nowhere. It also makes sense why they go this far for each others since they only had each others.

3- Its Mutual and Interesting

Again, in so many series, its mostly about one character chasing another and when there is actally mutual love, its usually portrayts as boring and cliche. But again thats not what happen with those two. Their relationship is mutual and equal and it doesnt make it less boring. There is still drama, tragedy, its also entertaining.

4- Its Healthy

Age differences is not really problem with those two because they both are vampire who lived long. Its nowhere near to being toxic. They are honest. They both respect each other’s choices. Jean said he is fine with Naeni’s existence if thats what Chloe truly desire and Chloe was happy for the fact that Jean made friends with someone (Noe). There is no abuse, no grooming, no toxic and most importantly, its not based on sexual desires, ambitions or anything like that etc. Despite this, they still become interesting anyway. It shows relationship in fictions dont have to be toxic or problematic to be interesting.

5- They are capable of liking others

Unlike certain stories that where characters act too selfish, ‘i only care about her/him’ thing, it somehow portrays as love but here’s the thing. Loving/focusing one person is not love, its obsession. Why? Because our interactions with other people create our identifies. You cant really develope identify, if you are just connecting with one person and how can you love them or how can they like you, if there is no identify, if there is no you? You cant. Also, acting as person you love is more worthy than any other people in world is obsession. You are probably idolising that person.

Yes, well, Chloe and Jean are kinda possesive of each others but its simply because they only had each others until now. We can see that they are capable of being more than this by Chloe’s caring for Jeannie and Jean’s being friends with Noe. They are opening theirselves to others, to the world so unironically it also helps them to see each others. Chloe and Jean started to understand what each others truly desired with the help of others.

6- Dynamic

They also have chemistry. Chloe looks like girl boss and Jean is like malewife. Chloe’s openess also balance Jean’s shyness really well. They fit well. And many other things.

7- They are really cute and entertaining

Besides all that drama and mystery, they still acts as really cute and its really entertaining to watch them.

Personally, its really rare for me like two characters for their own characters while also like their relationship (as big possiblity canon couple) in story. I really love them. Their relationship is really pure and beatifull, its also interesting and important. I love them. I am sure that i could write more about them but this is all i could remember so for now, thats it.

Vanitas Can't Photosynthesize

Vanitas grumbled into his palm as he sat propped against his knee, eyes icily glaring at the wall ahead of him. Pouting his lip, he rolled his eyes as Noé sat behind him, the mattress dipping under his weight as he crossed his legs. He plucked one of the many leaves from Vanitas’ locks and sighed.

“Listen, I didn’t think your hair would be such a... a magnet,” Noé admitted, picking out more of the foliage from between the strands.

Scoffing, Vanitas leaned deeper into his angular pose, clutching his crossed ankle in his free hand as he resigned himself to Noé’s preening. “Then you shouldn’t have pushed me in the pile to begin with!”

“I didn’t push you, I pulled you—I jumped in it too!”

“Why would you even want to do that in the first place?”

“Because it’s fun to jump in a pile of leaves, especially the crunchy ones.”

“Country Bumpkin.”

“City-Dweller.”

As Noé continued to remove the sticks and crumpled leaf debris from Vanitas’ catastrophic introduction to rural traditions, the taste of remorse began to creep along his tongue. Of course he fought against rolling around in tree decay, but Vanitas fought against everything—that’s just who he is. And it’s that abrasiveness for anything under the moon that made it especially difficult for Noé to tell when he had struck a nerve. A real nerve, not a superficial one. Noé’s brows set in a firm line.

Why did Vanitas have to be so difficult to understand? At its core, it was this trait that defined Noé’s captivation with him.

Picking out the final leaf, Noé swept the remaining particulate into the trashcan at Vanitas’ feet. “Is that it then?” Vanitas asked, turning enough for Noé to see the blue hue of his irises. He paused, transfixed by the iridescent color. Vanitas chuckled softly. “What’s the matter now?”

“Well, I wanted to brush it too,” Noé admitted, fidgeting with his fingers for a moment.

“Why the hell would you want to do that?”

“Because your hair is pretty, and I’d like very much to continue feeling it.”

“Quoi?!” Vanitas jumped up with such force that he startled Murr from across the room. “That’s disgusting, you imbecile!” he shouted, pointing an accusatory finger at Noé as he looked up at him.

Noé sighed. “I still find you horribly detestable, if that helps, but I’m not going to blame your hair for having to grow on your dumb head. Just let me brush it for a bit!”

“Ugh...” Snarling to himself, Vanitas clenched his fists at his sides. “You’re such a... Fine, but just for a minute.”

Sitting down in front of him again, Vanitas slouched heavily with his arms wrapped tightly around his chest as Noé beamed to himself for getting his way. Reaching over to the trunk at the foot of his bed, Noé fished out his bristle-brush before returning to his prior position. Vanitas heard Noé giggling behind him, and felt a burn igniting his cheeks as his heart thrummed.

With a soft touch, Noé loosened his ponytail, running his fingers between the strands as they cascaded down Vanitas’ back. The cut was asymmetrical at best, and a total hack-job at worst, but it was definitely befitting of the man’s character, and he couldn’t help his grin of amusement at the sight.

As the brush ran through his raven-dark hair, Noé found himself mesmerized by the sight of Vanitas sitting exposed before him. With gentle hands he continued the rhythmic motions, Vanitas sitting silently with his back towards him, blue eyes downcast as his fingers gripped the fabric of his coat tightly.

After a minute or two of the soft strokes, Vanitas was pained to report that the experience was not as unpleasant as he had anticipated. In fact, his posture loosened as he continued, and his eyelids drooped heavily with the metronome of his motions.

“There, all done!”

Vanitas jerked awake at the announcement, urging his expression to match the disgust he showed earlier. “It’s about time,” he said, rising to his feet in a stretch. As he leaned over in a dramatic toe-touch, he felt a weight on his shoulder as the bundle of hair fell onto his cheek.

“I braided it for you—I thought it might be fun...”

Standing upright, Vanitas admired the smooth pleats as he twisted the tied end between his fingers. Without his active attempt to maintain an air of contempt, his countenance slipped into a state of genuine appreciation, a softness appearing behind the usual harshness of his eyes. A blush rose to his cheeks.

“...It’s not bad, for a vampire.”

“Thank you! Domi taught me how to do it! Isn’t it pretty? It’s kind of difficult to do, but once I did it a few times it became a lot easier—”

As Noé continued to ramble on about the braid, Vanitas flipped his newly styled hair over his shoulder; upon closer inspection, he noticed it veered noticeably to his left.

“Oh, sorry, your hair isn’t symmetrical, so it’s going to mostly hang on one side. It’s still straight though if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“Why would I care if it’s straight?”

Oops.

At that, Vanitas ducked his head and dashed for the window, clambering outside like an animal escaping its enclosure.

“W-Wait, Vanitas—!”

Before he could get another word in, Vanitas had already disappeared beyond the windowsill. Sitting on the slanted roof, Vanitas ran his thumb over the folds of the braid as his heart hammered in his chest and disgustingly human thoughts rushed through his mind.

An unpopular opinion: This manga was never going to have a happy ending and the whole point is the journey to how we reach that tragedy that was introduced at the beginning. I fall in love with the pairing NoexRoland, even if Vanoe is still my favorite. I think that our two balls on shunshine can have a lot of potential. What do you think? =) Also a vampire and a chasseur? awesome too. What do you think?

They are wonderfull shunsines and I love both tbh. I can imagine them being ultra cute together but a chaotic duo too, just think about they sense of orientation XD

I personally prefer the pairing of RolandxOlivier because their old friendship and how they care about the other but to see a vampire and a chasseur together is very interesting since it is very different perspectives and it is a bit forbidden for each part. I really enjoy seeing pairings like this: the prey x the hunter, the demon x the angel, the believer x the atheistic, etc. I think is very interesting because seeing how they make the relationship works is fascinating; they coming each one from a different perspective and with opinions that collide so easily and even with that they are able to understand the other, it is such a hard work, usually totally worth and always a pleasure to see grow.

But for the same reason that I think this kind of pairing is interesting for collide so easily I think NoexRoland is not the best example, I explain myself: they seem to be very caring with the people they love and specially sensitives with the world around them so I can see Roland forgiving a vampire because Noé is asking for it and I can see Noé fighting a vampire that want to attack humans because Roland is there. They could be a powerfull duo but not that many sparks that I love to see.

And to conclude, I am not a fervent defender of X or Y ships. I like practically all the characters with all (with some exceptions from my personal opinions) and, at the same time, I dont care a shit about shipping. It drains my energies to argue about X and Y.

Why I like them

Oh, this is difficult. 

1. His backstory had so much room for potential (and most of it was wasted) as did his leadership of the college, along with the cries for a change of leadership. One reason I like him so is my wish to build on that potential. 2. Then there’s also the way he subverts traditional mage tropes. When you hear “archmage” you think of your Gandalfs and Dumbledores, the powerful wise old mentors who are perhaps a bit quirky - someone like Tolfdir basically - and Savos doesn’t much fit that description. He comes across as passive and surrendered to his current situation, not at all what the headmaster of the last refuge for Skyrim’s mages should be. 3. Shipping. I didn’t have much of a say in this, at some point Rashkan, my oldest and most developed Skyrim OC, decided “Hey, see that sad old elf up in his tower? I will cheer him up.” 4. I just go “Aww” when I see him? I don’t know why, because that’s normally how I react to characters like the Vanos siblings or Revus Demnevanni, characters whose cheeks I want to pinch. I can’t explain that point, really.

Why I don’t

He dies... Also for fucks sake Savos there are corpses in your basement!

There isn’t much but Labyrinthian is incredibly sad and even though he’s not there, the unused files at least reveal some of his feelings regarding the event.

Also, “Sir? How quaint.” gets me every time, especially since he’s one of the very few chars using the “MaleCondescending” voice type without being (much of) a prick.

Head Canon

I have so many of those and I’m too lazy to look for links right now, so have just one: Although I believe that crippling fear of failure plays a big part in Savos’ inaction, I also think he’s one of those people who only start working if there’s a deadline or someone reminding them of their duties. It’s a deadly combination of fear and laziness disguised as laid back attitude that characterizes his leadership style.

Unpopular opinion

Contrary to the above, Savos isn’t a wholly bad leader. He’s been the archmage of the college for a long time and has led it through some seriously tough times, not to mention the preexistent stigma from the Oblivion Crisis and the Great Collapse. I wish people would give him more credit for that rather than just calling him an idiot or incompetent.

A wish

I wish more people cared about him. Also, more fanworks would be nice; I’ve reached a point where I know pretty much any artwork or fanfic featuring him, including those on obscure Japanese or Russian sites.

Poor guy spent the entire weekend locked in that cramped bathroom. How crazy is that? I mean, at least he had somewhere to sit, right?

His crewmates only realized what had happened when they got back to the ship and needed what everyone does after vacationing in Lyre; to use the bathroom and take a cold shower.

In the crew’s defense, they thought the guy had ditched them to party on his own. How hard does this guy party if no one was concerned that he vanished the second they landed? There’s really only one word to describe someone known to hit it that hard — ‘Cassian.’

Speaking of Ellroy Cass, everyone’s favorite celebrity shipwreck is in rehab again. Talk about contender for least surprising headline of the year. He’s reportedly battling an addiction to Flow. Sources claim that prior to rehab Cass hadn’t slept in days and was obsessed with landscaping his backyard so it “felt like the beach.” Which is a nice idea, right? Except that his mansion is in the forest. That’s some pure, uncut Cass, right there.

Some of you might recall that Maurice Vano, the man who tried to kill Imperator Costigan, was also addicted to Flow. Supposedly, when Cass’s friends found out he was using the new drug, they began to worry he might be driven to do something similar. Though in Cass’s case, the only thing he was looking to assassinate was his own career.

It’s great that he’s trying to get help, though. Seriously. Addiction is tough no matter who you are. Of course it’s a little less tough when your rehab center looks like this. Here are some pictures we found of the Tresman Gardens Rehabilitation Center.

Nice, right? Those sexy, muscled people wearing the skimpy swimsuits? Those are the certified hydromassage healers. Quick show of hands, how many of you are thinking about getting addicted to something now?

Like I said earlier, you do not want to go anywhere. We’ve got a very, very special show tonight because our first guest is the very definition of a hero. His courageous actions saved the lives of 21 fellow Navy crew members on Virgil I. Here to tell us his absolutely incredible story is Lt. Davante Lee.

[ Applause ]

Lt. Davante Lee: Thanks. Yeah, wow, it’s kinda overwhelming to be here right now.

The studio lights are bright, aren’t they?

Lt. Davante Lee: ‘Blinding’ is more like it. Feels like I’m in a staring contest with a Bengal.

First off, I just want to say on behalf of everyone here and watching on spectrum, thank you for your service.

[ Applause ]

Your story is absolutely incredible. There’s really no other way to describe it. So let’s set the stage: your fleet came under attack in the Virgil System, right? Near Virgil I.

Lt. Davante Lee: As part of the rearguard, yeah.

And where were you when the ambush happened?

Lt. Davante Lee: Ah, ferrying supplies to the Montgomery. One second this big, beautiful Polaris is sitting before me and the next the ship’s in flames and spiralling down toward Virgil I.

That sector had been quiet for ages, too. Then outta nowhere, they hit us, hard, and the worse thing possible happens. Honestly, when the Vanduul fighters showed up and the Mont went down, I had to take a moment to ask myself if I was in a simpod or not. Nothing felt real.

But you weren’t in a simpod, were you?

Lt. Davante Lee: No, definitely not. I was in an Argo MPUV.

[ Gasps ]

The ideal ship for going toe-to-toe with the Vanduul, right?

Lt. Davante Lee: Well, it doesn’t have a single weapon, but it does have something else going for it — a ton of cargo room. I knew I’d never survive a tussle, but I could shuttle folks to safety. So, the second I saw the Mont break atmo above Virgil I, I decided to follow it.

I had a hell of a time finding them, especially since the ship’s comms were down.

From what I heard Virgil I’s atmo didn’t make that search any easier. Not with that swirling poisonous ash killing all visibility.

Lt. Davante Lee: That’s for sure, but it also probably saved my life.

So, you locate the Montgomery somewhere in this crazy ash storm, and then what?

Lt. Davante Lee: Lieutenant Yu was on the sticks at the time. Considering the state of the corvette, she did an incredible job controlling the crash, so it landed in a perfect spot. The ’duul found the crash pretty soon after I showed up. They started strafing the Mont to keep us occupied while landing dropships all around us.

It was … I’m not sure how to describe it. I mean, it was absolute chaos. No one could really see anything, except for their shots zipping through the ash like blurs of light … and you knew the ’duul were getting closer every second. You just didn’t know from where.

Somehow, the Mont’s crew all rallied together and established a perimeter. One of the turrets had survived the crash, so they were doing the best they could with that. Gave me enough cover to touch down. Thinking back now, I actually don’t remember a lot of it. With all the adrenaline and everything, my brain just sorta went on autopilot. Everything I did was more instinct than anything else.

And what did that instinct having you doing?

Lt. Davante Lee: I, ummm, unloaded the Argo as fast as possible and started loading up the Mont’s crew, injured ones first. I took off that first time without even checking the scans. I just lifted her off the ground, picked a direction and got the hell outta there.

And how many times did you do that?

Lt. Davante Lee: It took three more trips to get everyone.

[ Loud, Sustained Applause ]

Lt. Davante Lee: Thank you, but really it was the ash storm and the incredible people on the ground holding back the Vanduul that let me get so many of the crew out of there.

That’s just incredible. Where’d you even take the people you rescued? Another part of the planet?

Lt. Davante Lee: Nah, you don’t really want to hang out in that poisonous atmo if you can help it. Found a safe spot for them on the nearest moon. Dropped them there and then went back for the rest. It’s a miracle they held ’em off that long.

I can’t even imagine what that must have been like. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s a true story. It sounds like something straight out of a movie. Which, if they do end up making a movie out of this, I know the perfect actor to play you as soon as he is back out of rehab.

So, what’s next for you, Lieutenant?

Lt. Davante Lee: Well, I’ve got a few more of these to do.

TAKEN III - did your muse ever went through some bad illness? 

I think Vano definitely takes the cake on this one with the carbonite sickness fiasco of KOTFE. If you asked her, she would say it was hell and she wouldn’t wish the experience on her worst enemy.

SO personally, I feel like the game lets you off way too easy with the whole carbonite sickness thing, and naturally I decided that Vano has a way worse time of it than you do in-game because....let’s at least try and seem realistic, SWTOR, my dude. XD -Pretty much the only reason she manages to get out of the Spire on her own two feet when Lana, T7, Koth and Saarai come to get her is a combination of adrenaline, a little bit of spite (no way was she letting Arcann & Vaylin throw her back in there!), and then Saarai all but carrying her the last stretch once her adrenaline crashed and she suddenly could barely hold herself upright anymore. Vano couldn’t really make the jump onto the shuttle and Saarai pretty much had to pick Vano up and throw her across the gap into the ship LMAO The carbonite left her reflexes slow and her muscles weak and she couldn’t quite tuck-and-roll enough to land in the ship where Rai had been aiming, so she hit the edge of the ramp and thank the Force HK is on hand to grab her and pull her up. (I mean, Saarai would have caught her if she fell but y’know hahaha)

-With some of Lana’s Force healing, she’s able to get to a state where she can think clearly & (mostly) function for herself, but Vano still remains fairly weak for the entirety of their escape, her fighting is sloppy and clumsy and her normally-sharp reflexes are slow and she just feels like she’s stumbling around a dark alleyway in Kaas City after having too much to drink. She’s nauseous and having trouble orienting herself and remembering saber forms, or just.... everything really.

-If it hadn’t been for Saarai (and Senya) arriving to help her and Lana when they’re ambushed in the Endless Swamps, Lana would have had a lot more than a busted hand to worry about and Vano may have ended up dead. She does her best to help them raise the Gravestone, but even Vano will admit that most of the credit for that should go to the other three Force users because she was “basically a walking corpse”.

-Things get better once they get her to a proper medbay and start proper treatments and get her strength back up enough to start sparring, meditating and reminding herself of all her “old” fighting techniques, but for a long time after she recovers, even on Odessen, Vano suffers from insomnia. She’s afraid to fall asleep because “what if she doesn’t wake up, or worse, what if she does and it’s just Valkorion and her, in her mind, for another five years, or ten, or forever”. With some coaxing from her wife, Aria, and the combined efforts of Aria, Lana and some of the other Alliance advisors to apply a bit of medical intervention they may have dropped some mild sedatives in her tea a few times when she was pushing the “you need to sleep or you’re probably gonna like, die” mark she eventually works through this :3

7. Travel

-Travels semi-frequently, especially after becoming the Wrath as she goes wherever she is needed the most, leading to her living on her ship, the Razor, more than in an actual apartment (and actually never had one on Dromund Kaas because...she never had chance to use one and it would’ve been wasted credits so she didn’t bother. If she had to stay planet-side for a day or two she bunked at a hotel near to wherever she needed to be.) -Once the Alliance is formed and she becomes Commander, however, aside from to and from battles and running from Arcann and Vaylin, Vano travels a lot less. While she doesn’t hate it per se, she’s at best indifferent to it. Long periods in cramped ship’s quarters aren’t particularly comfortable when you’re over 6 feet tall and your body proportions are about 80% leg and 20% rest-of-your-body like she is 😆

16. Smile

-While there’s nothing immediately distinctive/unusual about Vano’s smile (all her teeth are there, she doesn’t have a particular way of curling her lip or anything like that) and it’s very ordinary, one thing that does stand out about her is that she smiles a lot. This is considered especially “odd” for a Sith, and even more so for the Empire’s Wrath. She doesn’t look very Wrathful when she’s smiling, but that’s the point. When Vano stops smiling, you know something is VERY wrong and you should probably be worried. -The smiling was one of the first things Vette noticed about her and was what led to her being brave enough to broach the shock collar subject with her when they first began working together. Vette still maintains it’s the reason she’s “literally the worst and least scary Sith to ever exist” but it’s become a sort of inside-joke between them now XD

Liar - The Arcadian Wild :: This is a relatively “new” song in comparison, which was sent to me by a good rp/writer friend on Discord (who afaik doesn’t have other socials!) that I often discuss plot points etc. with among other things, saying “hey this reminded me of Aria thought you’d like it!”. I listened to it and yep, sure enough, it’s an Aria song. A big part of Aria’s character is that at the start, she really is quite a bad person. She’s nasty, and cantankerous and she really doesn’t care about anybody except for herself (and maybe her dad. A tiny bit.), as things progress, however, while she is still inherently quite rude and selfish, she DOES learn to value other people...provided they are people she cares about, like Vano, and her friends, and so on,  as well as (sometimes, she’s working on it still) taking the blame for her own actions and learning it’s not “weak” or bad to a) admit you care about people, b) make mistakes and c) admit those mistakes and take responsibility for them. "I sense there’s trouble ahead, it’s clear by the signs and warnings. That should tell where all blame is due, So why are they pointing at MY head? [...] I sense deception to come. Honestly, truth and I are never one. 'Cause I am the lying man and I have made you my next victim. I need you to see through my act, to tell me I'm wrong, to take off the mask, or else I'll be left in the lie. And I'll deceive my way straight to demise! Where’s My Love? - SYML :: (Vano) I think the acoustic version is especially emotional : ))) Vano looked for her for years but couldn’t find her and genuinely thought Aria was dead. You can understand why she was so fucking angry when she found out that was a lie...but at the same time, she just wanted her love to come home :( “Did she run away? Did she run away? I don't know If she ran away, If she ran away, Come back home Just come home“

Mothers - Daughter :: (Myla, her mother) “Love all you need to love before it goes... When your face becomes a stranger’s that I don’t know. You will never remember who I was to you [...] I’m called “mother”, but they’re called “home”.”

Myla raised Aria for the first few years of her life, and really wanted to keep her away from both the Jedi and the Sith but as it became more and more clear that Aria’s Force affinity was as strong as her father’s, the situation rapidly spiralled out of Myla’s control. She tried to hide Aria, but in the end her father Noctis did find them and take Aria to train with the Sith. She didn’t see her daughter again until she was a teenager, suddenly turning up with the task to kill her for treason against the Empire (Myla is not the canon Imp Agent, but follows the general trajectory of the LS!Agent storyline i.e. an agent disillusioned with the Empire who eventually defects to the Republic with the help of the SIS.). Though she’s a Senator on Onderon now, Myla carried a blaster for personal protection and ofc knows how to use it, except...she couldn’t shoot her own daughter and that was all she wrote. I imagine her thought process during her final moments went something like in this song, especially the bit that I highlighted up there.

reminds you of a relationship of theirs, doesn’t have to be romantic, can be paternal, friendly, etc:

Tongues & Teeth - The Crane Wives :: Aria & Vano (Romantic). Aria’s relationship with Vano is incredibly messy and complicated. On one hand, she knows Vano deserves better, but at the same time she doesn’t want her to go anywhere else and it seems like no matter what she does to try and “warn her off” about what a “bad person” she is, Vano keeps coming back anyway. Ergo, this song. "Oh, I will ruin you. I will ruin you. It’s a habit...I can’t help it. I know that you mean so well, but I am not a vessel for your good intent. I will only break your pretty things, I will only wring you dry of everything! But if you’re fine with that, if you’re fine with that [...] You can be mine.”

Colours - Halsey :: Aria & Merak & Ziri (Friendship/Platonic Love) “You’re only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope, I hope you make it to the day you’re 28 years old...”

Aria “coped” (i.e. not very well but she did it) with the guilt of killing her mother and the stress brought on by the night terrors by self-medicating with glitterstims (spice) and alcohol, and this is how Merak in particular remembers her. Though she got clean from spice after they picked up Ziri, she still continued to drink (and still does) quite heavily, though at least it’s easier to manage that habit. Both of them supported her through this the best they could and it’s probably a big reason (other than Merak being Vano’s little brother) that they’re still Aria’s friends to this day, even if she doesn’t actively travel with them anymore.

(honourable mention to Agnes - Glass Animals which also falls under this “category” but I didn’t want this to get too crowded lmao, it is once again a super long post woops) You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid - The Offspring :: Aria & Roan/Darth Noctis (Familial/Familial Love) Listen, he may have taught her very bad emotional habits and turned her into a tiny attack dog, but her father did love & protect her the best way he possibly could. He was very proud of her and always envisioned her taking his place as a Darth one day (and it takes her a longass while, but eventually she does! Congrats dad!). That’s all I’ve got to say about this one 🤷‍♀️ Monster - Willyecho :: Aria & Satele Shan/The Jedi Order (Enemies to Begrudging Respect (eventually) “I can see the truth. No, you don’t have to lie to me. Don’t fill your head with things and think you’re free~ [...] You don’t believe in monsters, do you~?” ”Of course not!” ”Well, I do...” See me change...into something...darker....” My personal favourite from this “round”. It’s not until Ilum that Satele and the Jedi finally realise they have not “converted” Aria as they thought they did, but rather...they’ve had a Sith hiding under their noses, a Sith related to a Dark Councillor well-known for murdering Jedi no less, and that perhaps...the “deaths” she had convinced them were accidental, were in fact, not an accident at all. 😈 Aria, of course, gets her ass thrown in jail for a few years for this lmao When the schtick with the Revanites happens and Theron needs someone who can “negotiate in a civil manner with Sith”, he and his mother agree Aria is the best bet - if it works, the Sith will respond more positively to her than any other Jedi, if they kill her instead then they’re “rid of” her and don’t lose one of their own - when Lana’s point-of-contact happens to be Vano and the pair reunite after another several years apart, Aria refuses to return to the Republic after Yavin IV. By then, she’s developed enough of a begrudging respect for Satele (and vice versa) that the Grand Master lets her go (not that she was willing to try and fight Vano, Ni’kasi, Marr & Lana to try and take Aria prisoner again anyways). They haven’t seen each other since and though Aria is neutral to the Jedi who have joined the Alliance, she doesn’t care for those who are still loyal to the Republic and would rather have nothing to do with them if she can help it.

I stayed up way too late to answer these, it was worth it

Questions by @pauletta-00​ *dances* here we gooo, some cautions before reading the answers: 1) will contain spoilers for much much later in the fic so don’t read the answers if ya don’t want dem spoilers. I’m gonna try and keep ‘em vague enough that they don’t give everything away, cause I gotta make ya go read it, don’t I now? 😉 2) While I follow KOTFE/ET as a loose guideline it is just that. A guideline, in a lot of places we veer waaaaayyy off the established canon because *singing to the tune of a popular song* ✨it’s my fanfic and I do what I want to ✨ so don’t any of y’all yell at me because my headcanons are different pls? ok good :D

With that out of the way, the questionsss

1. Starting with basics. Who is your Outlander (which class, what their aligment)? How did they end up being frozen in carbonite for 5 years? Why did you make them the Outlander?

(my own art because losing an eye is not a scar option in-game and it’s one of her most defining features)

Vano Saal-Shenly - Canon Sith Warrior (alignment: Light IV in game, I class her as Neutral Good) and Empire’s Wrath. She got made the Outlander because it just made the most sense, also there are some parallels between her fate/whereabouts (including the amount of time they were “missing” to each other) in KOTFE/ET and that of her wife in earlier parts of the (class) story that I very very much did on purpose 😉 She was also the Wrath, so it made the most sense for her to end up on Marr’s ship when it went boom and led into KOTFE. Pretty much follows the canon there, Vano cuts her ship loose, tells her crew + wife to gtfo of there, she and Marr are taken prisoner and she gets frozen in carbonite after the dust up in the throne room. Becomes the Alliance Commander

2. Now, to the rest of classes. What happens to them during KotFE/ET? Did they know the Outlander? Were they allies, enemies, family? Do they join the Alliance or have something else to do? Do they play a major or a minor role in the story? Spare no detail (if you wish, of course).

Aria Saal-Shenly: Human, Major role. Vano’s wife, semi-canon Jedi Consular (alignment: Grey/Dark I, Chaotic Neutral) (follows the Consular story arc grey-Dark aligned, is in fact a Sith Inquisitor playing sleeper agent). Alias “The Wrath’s Shadow” (for obvious reasons) Joined back up officially with Vano during the SoR arc, they marry sometime in the interim between Rishii and killing Revan; on the other flagship with Lana, Theron and the others when Vano’s crew returns to give them the news. Inconsolable after her wife’s disappearance and refuses to accept that she’s dead (they share a Force Bond, so Aria knows and becomes increasingly frustrated when nobody will “listen to her telling them damn it!!”), drives Lana and the others crazy by continuing to try and look for her wife and putting herself in danger in doing so. Sticks with the Alliance, of course, her wife’s the Commander XD helps Vano to manage Odessen-side things of the Alliance, specialising in helping Ni’kasi and Sana-Rae at the Force Enclave of course.

Saarai Ahaszaai: Sith Pureblood, Major role. Niece to Vowrawn and twin sister to Ni’kasi (SI). Alt Sith Warrior in-game. Light I/II, Chaotic Good, but hiding out on Rishii to escape being convicted of a serious crime and exposing her family to Vitiate/Valkorion (who would absolutely kill them if he knew) picked up by Aria and Vano during their search for Lana and Theron during that part of the storyline. Joins up with the Alliance because she and her family have a personal vendetta (tm) against Vitiate/Valkorion and she wants to stab that dude too. Eventually becomes Empress alongside Vano who  remains as the Commander (I still need to work out the details but basically it’s like...coalition government style thing and Saarai and Vano are the joint “final decision” voice mm’kay? hopefully that makes sense), with Lana, Theron and Aria to watch as Marr’s ship go boom. Has to restrain Aria when she loses her shit when they try to tell her Vano’s dead, helps Lana and the others to track Vano down and formulate the rescue plan. Stays with Aria to make sure she stays put like she was told while Lana gets Vano out of carbonite.

Ni’kasi Ahaszaai: Sith Pureblood, semi-Major role. Niece to Vowrawn and twin sister to Saarai (alt SW). Semi-canon Sith Inquisitor/Darth Occulus (follows the canon Inquisitor storyline, but is not related to Kallig, instead related to Vowrawn and lurking in hiding under Vitiate’s nose. Ends up as a “slave” when she takes the fall for her twin’s “crime” in order to protect her.), Light I/Grey, Lawful Neutral. With Saarai and the others on the ship when the big bad happens, sticks with the Alliance (and her twin) to try and track down Vano. Tries to contact Vowrawn and the other Dark Councillors etc., but can’t reach them obviously.

Merak Shenly: Mirialan, Minor role. Younger brother to Vano and friend to Aria as they briefly worked together before Aria returned to being a plant in the Jedi Order, Smuggler, Grey/True Neutral (mostly non-canon as of yet, I need to fully play through the Smuggler story and see how much of it I can graft into the fic-verse if it works or not), takes Aria’s side and works tirelessly to help them track down his sister, is likely the one to find the lead that takes them to Zakuul. Joins the Alliance and works alongside Hylo to run ammo/supplies etc. to the Alliance as they need it.

I haven’t yet played the Bounty Hunter or Trooper storylines, and my only current Imperial Agent is Aria’s mother (Light V/Lawful Good); she runs semi-canon in that she defects to the Republic, but is instead found out by the DC and Aria is sent to kill her as part of her Sith trials, so she’s dead long before KOTFE/ET happens.

I have a Jedi Knight too, but I honestly couldn’t figure out how to put him into the plot so I just left him out for now, I guess he was recruited and is probably in the background somewhere idk sjhsdyuidg

3. What about companions? Do you follow their in-game story or have headcanons for them? Did they stay with your non-Outlander characters or not? Why?

Mainly managed to plan out for the Warrior/Consular companions, haven’t thought deep enough into the Inquisitor companions yet, though I imagine at least Andronikos, Khem Val, Talos and Xalek will likely return to join the Alliance or at least ally with them somehow, because I love them ;-;

Qyzen: Stung by Aria’s betrayal and “leaves” for a while, re-recruited to the Alliance as canon/in-game and the two eventually patch up their relationship (as best they can, but are not as close as before). Tharan/Holiday, Felix, Nadia and Zenith do not return in my fic-verse. They cut ties with Aria after they find out her true loyalties are to the Empire and not the Republic.

Vette: Stays with Aria, Saarai, Ni’kasi etc. initially, eventually goes missing during their searches for Vano and loses contact with the rest of them, ends up teaming up with Gault and returning canonically/as in-game.

Quinn: is court-martialled and thrown in prison after the Quinncident. Released sometime during the five-year carbonite shebang, becomes an officer/aide to Darth Vowrawn, later joins the Alliance along with Vowrawn on Iokath. He and Vano reconcile of sorts, though she no longer considers him a friend and simply a “tactical advisor”. Quinn knows he fucked up so he doesn’t dare complain about it, or Aria will absolutely E N D him.

4. If applicable: how your characters react if the Alliance joins the opposite faction on Iokath and after that? For example: how do Sith characters feel about joining the Republic? Will they stay or leave (if it’s too spoiler-ish, then feel free to skip this)?

Aria was never truly on the Republic’s side, so she very much supports joining the Empire. Saarai and Ni’kasi originally came from the Empire so of course they’re enthusiastic. Merak is skeptical, but trusts his sister (and sister-in-law) so doesn’t protest even though the Sith do scare him, a lot.

5. If applicable: if your Commander decides to be a saboteur, would they tell anyone (PC or companions)? Why/why not?

Haven’t got this far yet to be able to plan this out, lemme get back to you when I do lol

6. How would your characters react if one of their companions is exiled or dead because of Outlander’s choices? For example: sith warrior’s reaction if Commander doesn’t save Vette?

Aria pretty much only cared about Qyzen out of her companions, he comes back fine in the end so she’s a-okay. Other than that the only person she would be deeply affected by losing again is Vano herself. She will fucking kill as many someones as she can get to before Saarai stops her if they let her wife go bye bye again.

don’t have a bounty hunter to be upset about Torian. I don’t hate him, he’s a great guy and I really enjoyed his character, but I cannot bring myself to not save Vette ;-; Vette and Vano have a sisterly-like relationship and her lock-picking etc. skills are very important to the Alliance. That Twi’lek ain’t dying on nobody’s watch hahahaha

haven’t yet had a chance to plan out anybody else’s, don’t think there are any choices in game (or that I’ve planned out in the slightly-altered fic timeline) that would affect this. May change as I get that far ahead and add or change things to fit!

I don’t write a lot, but the last fic-thing I’ve written was Tunon/Fatebinder.

There usually isn’t much to read since most of my ships are rarepairs or feature minor characters. That being said, I’ve been stalking the Tyranny ficbook tag for Tunon/Fatebinder a lot lately. There’s 8 or 9 pages written for this tiny fandom by only a handful of people and the fics just keep coming. I don’t speak Russian, but I’ve read them all regardless (as shitty google translations).

Anything involving Savos Aren. I don’t care with whom he’s shipped, I’m starved for content. Also on that note, anything involving Tanval Indoril or Laloriaran Dynar.

There are some ships I dislike simply because they’re everywhere. If it’s a popular ship within a fandom, then I probably don’t like it. No, I’m not being a fandom-hipster, I swear.

That being said, if it involves a character I like there’s absolutely nothing I won’t read.

7. They never met in canon ship

I kinda like Raynor Vanos/Revus Demnevanni together, they could achieve the highest accidental bodycount in all of Tamriel. @rpgnpc ‘s idea of Erandur/Savos Aren also intrigues me. There’s some potential there.

I remember reading a fic by @norroendyrd involving Geldis Sadri and Bralsa Drel. Never imagined I’d like that as much as I do.

Tanval Indoril/Vestige. I actually have a vestige to ship him with, but I never get around to actually devoting time to that.

Rashkan/Savos was what started my obsession with the latter.

See above. It feels weird shipping two characters who are so much older than me. Additionally, although I try working on my OCs, shipping them with anyone always feels weird because I can’t always justify it/ put into words what I like about the ship.

Granted their relationship develops slowly enough to put some coffeeshop AUs to shame, but their dynamic is one I greatly enjoy. 

14. Your most tragic ship

Rashkan/Savos would become this if I could bring myself to play the CoW questline again. Rashkan would not only lose his beloved, but also a dear friend (Mirabelle) as well as the illusion of finally having found sanctuary. Oh, and something Savos had been dreaming of and tried working towards (A better relationship with the locals) is also made harder, if not impossible. And all that happened over a rather short period of time. Quite frankly, I don’t think Rashkan would be able to handle that mentally.
