The Best Senior Living in Atlanta vs Living at Home-Why It's More than Just Help with Daily Tasks
The decision of whether to admit their loved one to assisted living or have them remain at home is a tough decision for any family. As the two options provide assistance with activities of daily living much more is offered in an assisted living facility. Assisted living can also be explained as an environment wherein seniors feel safe but with caregivers available all the time to help the elders whenever they need assistance or anytime during the day or night. They like to be social in a way that they can engage in activities; make new friends and perform exercises, which may not be easily possible if they are at home.  Let us understand the difference between the best senior living in Atlanta and home care senior living to make better choices.
Assisted Living vs. Home Care Senior Living: What’s the Difference?
Independent and assisted at-home care delivers supportive non-medical home, as well as the health services needed for senior citizen assistance with meals. It also doesn’t provide constant service and can be lack of attention the time when require more assistance. The difference is that between home care senior living and assisted living provides the availability of a car in that the residents can receive help at any one time in cases of emergencies or changes in health.
For added independence, those in assisted living facilities also have access to socialization and recreational facilities, group meals, and more. This feels more like what home care may not provide, that is care as well as company thus enhancing health.
Benefits of Assisted Living
There are quite several benefits that converge on assisted living which is why people with a need of constant attention always opt for it. In these communities, properly trained personnel are always around on a round-the-clock basis to support the residents on issues to do with dressing¸ feeding, and giving them their medicine among others. This guarantees senior citizens that they always receive needed assistance which offers comfort to many residents and their families. Additionally, family members can focus on their own well-being while their loved ones receive professional care when assisted living relieves them of part of the caring duties.
Considerations for Home Care
For the decision of whether it is better to choose assisted living or home care the essential step is to weigh up the pros and cons of both the opportunities. For the elders who require help with some of the routine activities they require, need support throughout the day and night, and need companionship, assisted living is most suitable. These communities afford primacy, and have healthcare facilities around them, which enhances the quality of life for its inhabitants.
Tumblr media
Why is Assisted Living Better Than Home Care?
In many cases assisted living offers a better care scenario as opposed to home care because it has a specialized setting and various services offered. To complete, assisted living communities are purposefully intended for seniors, providing them with continuous care, along with employees capable of handling their needs throughout the day and emergencies.
Social opportunities are another advantage as these communities offer a way through which elderly people are given something to do while also getting the company they need. In the same regard, persons can easily access medical care hence receiving treatment prompting within the compound. Assisted living also eases family caregivers’ role and burden, whereby they are in a position to also seek professional caregivers for their loved ones thus improving on own health.
Why Is Assisted Living Superior to Care at Home?
Assisted living, with its specialized setting and extensive services, is frequently a better choice than in-home care. Assisted living communities are designed to meet seniors’ needs, offering 24/7 support and trained staff for daily tasks and emergencies.
Social opportunities are another benefit, as these communities provide activities that keep seniors engaged and connected with others. Furthermore, having healthcare on-site guarantees that patients will receive emergency care when needed. Moreover, assisted living relieves family members of some of the caregiving responsibilities so they may concentrate on their well-being while their loved ones receive expert care.
Conclusion
If you consider the friendly, open community that values individuality and interpersonal relationships, consider Azalea Manor Senior Living. With a committed team at Senior Assisted Living Atlanta GA providing round-the-clock care, you or a loved one can always feel secure and supported.

Darren Criss returns to Broadway alongside newcomer Helen J Shen in the futurist new musical Maybe Happy Ending, and PEOPLE has a first look at the pair in action.
The two actors — he an Emmy winner for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, and she/they making her Broadway debut in the production — lead the four-person show that takes place on the outskirts of Seoul in 2060 and follows two humanoid-looking Helperbot robots near the end of their warranty who make a powerful new connection with one another after they're abandoned after their owners and traded in for newer models.
On paper, it's an offbeat concept for a story, but a romantic one that surprisingly shows the humanity in the small things that make any life worth living.
The internationally acclaimed duo of Will Aronson and Hue Park created the magical musical, penning its music (Aronson), lyrics (Park) and book (both Aronson and Park). Their work is also a technical marvel to watch, thanks to a stunning visual design developed by Tony Award nominee Dane Laffrey.
Direction comes from Tony Award winner and visionary artist Michael Arden (Parade, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Once on this Island), who is one of the industry's biggest talents and most sought-after directors.
In fact, it was Arden that drove Criss to the show, the actor told PEOPLE last month at his theatre-themed music festival ElseFest.
"He's been a longtime friend, and if you stick around long enough, you see your friends do cool things and you wonder, 'Oh, I hope one day I get to work with them.' And then that day finally came and he called me and here we are now," Criss said. "and I'm truly beside myself with gratitude and excitement. And I know that's a cliché thing for artists to say when they're promoting something, but I don't know any other way to express that. There's something special here and I can't believe I get to be a part of it."
Criss isn't just a part of it; he's also in a role he's never been in before: a veteran of the boards, leading Shen through her first show. The Glee breakout was made his debut on Broadway in 2012 as a replacement in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and has since starred in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2015) and American Buffalo (2022).
"This is now my fourth Broadway show — which I can't believe I'm saying that, this is crazy. But Father Time is undefeated in the ring and he continues to throw his punches, so I am now in the senior position here. And that is one of the new experiences for me," he says.
"The great thing about youth is that it's always going to be there to remind you what is exciting about the next thing," Criss continues. "So it's a joy for me to be able to be present for Helen and the other members of our company as they make their ascents. It's a big moment; it can power cities, that excitement and that raw energy, and it's an exciting and invigorating thing to be around. So on top of the show being something that we genuinely love and are excited to be a part of it, it's this sort of unbelievably delightful cocktail that I'm just going to guzzle every day until it's time to go."
Preview performances for Maybe Happy Ending began on Oct. 16 at the Belasco Theatre in New York City. An opening date is officially scheduled for Nov. 12.
A Korean-language version was first performed at the DaeMyung Culture Factory in Seoul South Korea in 2016. That production subsequently won six Korean Musical Awards including best musical. It's been revived in Korea multiple times since, and has also been performed in Japan and China.
Arden directed the English-language, American premiere of the show at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia in 2020. It won the 2017 Richard Rodgers Production Award.
In addition to Criss and Shen, Maybe Happy Ending stars Dez Duron (NBC’s The Voice) and Marcus Choi (Wicked, Flower Drum Song).
Rounding out the production as understudies are Steven Huynh (Blue Bloods), Hannah Kevitt (Back to the Future: The Musical), Daniel May (Flower Drum Song) and Christopher James Tamayo (Les Miserables).

Her Sisters and Brother
Liz and Grace Georgia, United States
In 2010, I began my own healing journey for my abortions when my only living child, my daughter Grace, was 11 years old.  As she was growing up, I cannot tell you how many times she would ask me, “Mama, are you ever going to have any more children?” Or, “Mom, I wish I had a sister or a brother.  I wish I wasn’t the only child.”  And each time I heard my daughter say these things to me, my heart would break, for I was harboring the painful secret and the deep shame, regret, and remorse of my abortions.  Finally, I couldn’t stand it any longer and began my own healing journey.  I attended the Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat and then participated in a post-abortion healing Bible Study.
After experiencing God’s healing, I became a pro-life advocate and activist and began working for PATH, Post Abortion Treatment & Healing, in Atlanta.  I knew at some point I was going to have to tell Grace the truth about her siblings lost to abortion, but I didn’t know when.  I prayed for the Holy Spirit to begin preparing both of us and to let me know when the right time would be for Grace to hear the painful, shocking truth—that she had two sisters and one brother in Heaven.
On Mother’s Day 2016, after the family’s festivities were over, Grace and I were alone in the family room, and I truly felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to tell Grace about my abortions.  Grace was 17 years old and a junior in high school.  I talked to her about the story of Saul and what kind of person he was before he started living for God.  He was not a very good person; he killed and persecuted many innocent people before having an overwhelming conversion experience and becoming one of the best apostles of Jesus who ever lived.  What a powerful testament of how powerful Jesus’s healing and forgiveness is!  Grace knew I worked for PATH – that we minister to women and men who have been negatively affected from their abortion experience.  I asked her if she thought I was using book knowledge or experience as I ministered to these people in PATH.  She just stared at me and looked away with unbelief, shock, and horror.  She asked me, “Mom, did you have an abortion?”  I answered her, “Yes, I did.”  Tears began rolling down her cheeks.  My heart was breaking, but I was also feeling the conviction of the Holy Spirit to tell her the WHOLE truth—that I had had three abortions, not just one.   So I told her the WHOLE truth and told her of my deep regret, sadness, and sorrow for what I had done.  Yet, just like God forgave Paul, God forgave me!  And, as a result of this overwhelming forgiveness and mercy, I wanted to help lead others to God’s healing, too.  I told her I didn’t want to keep family secrets.  Additionally, I NEVER wanted her to ever have to go through what I had experienced, but I did want her to know the TRUTH about abortion and its aftermath.
I told her that she may begin to feel and experience many different emotions now that she knows the truth about my abortions, such as sadness, fear, anger, survivor’s guilt, among many other feelings.  I offered her people from PATH she could talk to that would understand if she ever needed to talk about it.
The following January (2017), when Grace was a senior in high school, she and I marched together for the first time at the March for Life in Washington, D.C.   As we marched, Grace boldly carried a sign that said, “I Mourn the Loss of my Aborted Sibling”, and I carried my sign that said, “I Regret My Abortion.”  And she was there when I shared my post-abortion healing testimony for Silent No More at the United States Supreme Court.  It was a powerful day for us both.
During summer 2017, Grace had just graduated high school and was going away to college in the fall.  As a family, we went up to Chattanooga, TN and had a memorial Mass for our three babies in Heaven and then went to the National Memorial for the Unborn to honor these babies.  We had a brass name plate made for each one of them with their names and a special message on it.  Then Grace placed each name plate on the Wall of Names.  This was a very special day.
“I’ve been through a lot of pain and stuff and I just wonder what it would have been like if they were here to help me through it,” says Grace.  The shockwaves of abortion run deep.  In October 2018, Grace continued her healing journey by attending the Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat, where she was able to grieve the loss of her siblings in Heaven.  Grace is a sophomore in college now and has encountered many opportunities to defend LIFE.  She says she “will always fight for her siblings and be a voice for them.”  She has become quite the pro-life advocate and activist and has even debated in class about the devastation and shockwaves of abortion, admitting her own experience with being the sibling of three children lost to abortion.  She has also expressed an interest with getting involved with Students for Life Ministry on her college campus.  I am so proud of her, and I know her two sisters and brother in heaven are proud of her too!

An article by Linda Simensky on Ed, Edd n' Eddy, published in the summer 1999 edition of Take One magazine. Full issue here. Transcript under the cut.
One day in 1996, I got a fax at the Atlanta head office of the Cartoon Network where I am vice president of original animation. It was from Vancouver animator Danny Antonucci. Danny had sent me a drawing of threee goofy looking guys, with the title Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, and the tagline: "They're friends because they have the same name." "What do you think?" he wrote. Hilarious, I remember thinking. I remembered that back in 1974, I used to hang out with two girls in my neighbourhood, Linda J. and Linda V. We didn't have much in common other than living in the same neighbourhood and having the same name. I immediately identified with the concept and series as a whole.
Well, actually there were several more steps before that last part happened but they were easy. I showed the fax to Mike Lazzo, the senior vice president of programming and production at the Cartoon Network, and he laughed. "Can we see more? Is there a bible?" he asked. The series bible came through by fax, a few pages at a time, over a period of the next few months. After an affirmative response from Betty Cohen, the president of the Caroon Network, the legal paperwork and deal making began. Not long after, a start-up meeting was held poolside at Chateau Marmont, the one moment of Hollywood glamoue we'd experience. "How soon can you have it ready?" asked the general manager and I watched Danny's eyebrows go up. Thus the Sisyphean task of producing the series began. Up to that point, the Cartoon Network had only produced shows through Hanna-Barbera in Los Angeles. Even shorts that were produced in smaller studios in other cities were produced through Hanna-Barbera. This would be the first show to be produced outside that system and the first to report directly to the Cartoon Network. The fate of our working with independant studios rested with this show. Nothing like a little pressure! In addition, every series we had done had started with a seven-minute short, but this time we were so sure we were on the right track that we jumped right in to serious production.
At that point in time, the Cartoon Network had been putting a great deal of effort into finding properties that weren't just animated sitcoms but were actually cartoons. Visually eyepopping, gag-laden, character-driven and most importantly, funny. Those were our cartoon goals. We were also trying to produce the cartoons by setting up units which would be creator-driven and self-contained. The old Warner Bros. "Termite Terrace" was our model since, as far as we were concerned, that's how the best cartoons were made. In the mid-1990s, Hanna-Barbera produced a series of 48 cartoons. The Cartoon Network went into series production on three of those shorts: Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, and Johnny Bravo. We were in development on our next show, Powerpuff Girls, with the Dexter unit, and were starting to put several other projects into development, when we decided the Eds should have their own series.
Antonucci's earlier projects had made him a household name among animators. Lupo the Butcher, his animated short from the lates 1980s was, to some degree, the South Park of its time. I can remember a tape of Lupobeing passed around the office back in 1988, as people told each other, "You got to see this!" A few years later, in 1994, Antonucci started up his own studio, a.ka. Cartoon, in Vancouver to produce his show The Brothers Grunt for MTV. Following that, he spent the next few years doing commercials, promos, network IDs and the opening for MTV's Cartoon Sushi.
He decided to remain in Vancouver and expand his studio to accommodate series production. After working out of a small, five-person studio, a.k.a. Cartoon moved into a loft in the Gastown section of Vancouver and began hiring a full staff to work on the first 13 episodes. Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy is the story of three best friends bound by the same name, gawky social graces and an overwhelming desire to fit in. The series takes place during summer vacation, as the Eds search the cul-de-sac where they live for adventure, acceptance and money to buy candy. Ed is into monster movies and model kits. Edd is the really smart, really quiet and the unnatrually polite one. Eddy is the ringleadrer who loves being the centre of attention. The Eds are driven by their constant quest for cash, mostly for buying jawbreakers.
Their schemes -- childhood ventures -- optimistic profit margins -- and oddball twists.
The other neighbourhood kids round out the stories. Sarah is Ed's whiny younger sister. Rolf is the first-generation immigrant of unknown origin who eats strange things and has a pet goat. Jimmy prefers hanging out with Sarah and finds the Eds too rough. Kevin, the neighbourhood cynic, finds the Eds' ideas stupid. Nazz is the neighbourhood heatthrob and the mysterious Jonny 2x4 has a best friend that is a wooden board named Plank. Rounding out the cast are the neighbourhood bullies, the dreaded Kanker Sisters. The characters are loosely based on Danny's two sons, assorted friends and people he's known throughout his life.
Each half-hour episode is comprised of two, 11-minute cartoons. Typical episodes range from the Eds crashing Nazz's sprinkler party, to dealing with cycles of fads that blow through the cul-de-sac, to Sarah's newfound crush on Edd. Each cartoon is produced "the old-fashioned way" to guarantee the maximum number of laughs. Danny works with the story editor/head writer Jono Howard and a few other writers to generate the story ideas. Each writer then produces one-to-two page outlines with the beats of the story. The outline is handed to two storyboard artists who work out the actions and the gags. The storyboards remain up on the wall for the big pitch, at which point the artists pitch the storyboard to Danny and everyone else in the studio. The receptionist, the accountant and any visitors that day are all included in the pitch audience. The gags and beats that get laughs are keepers. The ones that fall flat get feedback or are reconsidered.
Season one, which premiered January 1999, is doing remarkably well in the ratings. Every now and then the Cartoon Network produces a show that has an impact on popular culture or day-to-day life. Recently, a journalist in Tallahasse, Fla., wrote a column in his local newspaper about his search for the huge jawbreakers his kids saw on Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy. In the April 19 issue of People magazine, in the crossword puzzle, the clue for #45 down was the cartoon show, Ed, ___ 'n' Eddy. Fan Web sites are starting to spring up.
The show has started to appear in other countries via international cartoon networks. A second season has already been ordered for a November 1999 broadcast date. Apparently, puberty is as international as it is unforgiving. Will the Eds ever be shown in their own backyard? Will Canadians ever get to see the "Canadian Squirt Gun" episode in season two? Probably. While Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy will hopefully be acquired for air on one of the Canadian cable channels, for now you will have to rely on tapes from friends in the United States.

✧˖° → The McCoys
Tumblr media
Leonard had been a Junior (11th grade/16 years old) in high-school when he started dating Jocelyn Darnell. They lived in one of those small towns where everyone knew everyone, but he had been the shy nerd in school and she had been a popular cheerleader. It was by the average clique standards that the two of them never really crossed paths, that was until Jocelyn had decided to make her ex-boyfriend jealous by picking Leonard out at a high school party (the kind the whole school practically went to.) and dragged him into a dance.
Of course her ex boyfriend Clay Treadway didn’t like that Leonard was ‘trying to steal his girl’ and the next day at school tried to start a fight. Much to everyone’s surprise it had been a fight that Leonard managed to win, and from that moment on Leonard and Jocelyn were considered to be going steady. All that summer, and through their senior year of high school the two were inseparable.
The two of them started out great, they had enough in common and matching tempers that they seemed like a well enough mix. Leonard of course had fallen hard, and would do anything to make Jocelyn smile, he was happy and relatively carefree.
When it came time for them to choose a college, the both of them had agreed to go to the university of Mississippi together. Everything was going great, they were young and in love. Of course the couple wasn’t perfect and they would occasionally get into fights. The two both had a way with words, and knew how to cut the other deep. They always reconciled within a few days, and to this day Leonard claims that makeup sex is the best thing ever invented.
The month before Leonard graduated from Medical School, Jocelyn found out that she was pregnant. It came as a relative surprise since the two of them had always been so careful about birth control, but there had been one night where they had been particularly drunk and one thing led to another...
Once Leonard graduated from medical school, the two moved back to Georgia, moving into a relatively nice home in the suburbs of Atlanta. The two got married in a relatively small ceremony after Leonard finally proposed.
Everything seemed like it was going to be okay, despite the stress that came with Leonard’s long hours of working at a hospital. There were unfortunately no shortcuts in the medical field, and he was more than willing to work hard for what he wanted. It didn’t help that he had his father’s reputation as a DAMN GOOD DOCTOR to live up to.
Despite all that life through at them, the McCoys were still a relatively happy family. Even still the little things always had a way of adding up and eventually things had to come crumbling down. One of the biggest flaws Leonard had was his inability to manage a GOOD work/life balance. If he wasn't working long hours at the hospital, he was trying to catch up on chores around the house, or get some quality time in with Jojo, all of which left not nearly enough quality time for their relationship.
The marriage didn’t take a HARD downward spiral until Leonard’s father got terminally ill. Leonard who had always been very close with his dad, became obsessed with finding a cure. All he could think about was trying to keep his father alive long enough for him to find some cure for him. However no matter how much time he threw into research, and how close he managed to get.. He just couldn’t find that last MISSING PIECE he needed to save his father.
October 10th, 2252 David McCoy passes away and as far as anyone is concerned he had finally just succumbed to his illness. [ The truth is here, though there is a HEAVY TRIGGER for assisted s*ic*de ]
His dad's death took it’s toll on Leonard, he took up going to the bar after work a bit more and became incredibly distant from Jocelyn, and anyone other than Jojo. He was filled with so much guilt and grief that it became incredibly hard to cope.
Leonard becoming distant from Jocelyn seemed to be the breaking point for their marriage. She felt extremely neglected that her husband wouldn’t even so much as give her the time of day, or let her in on what has been troubling him. She could tell that it was more than just his father passing away, she knew he was hiding something but she could never get Leonard to talk about it, no matter how hard she tried. This led to fight after fight, and though they always did the best to wait until after Joanna went to bed, never liking to fight in front of her.
Eventually it all became too much, and Leonard had pushed her so far away, that he ended up pushing her right back into the arms of Clay Treadway. A year after his father died, Jocelyn finally had enough and filed for divorce, which came as a slap in the face to Leonard, who despite having been distant still had the (WILDLY NAIVE) hopes that they could make it work because he did love her very much. With the filing for divorce came the long drawn out custody battles over Joanna. Leonard wanted to have the right to see his daughter as much as he wanted, because that little girl still was his world and he refused to let her go. The whole thing was drawn out over a span of about a year, the two only ever seeing each other at meetings with their lawyers.. Except for once instance, that being May 9th, their anniversary and though despite everything that was happening Leonard had gotten himself relatively drunk and found himself calling her up.
The two spent one last drunken night together, reliving what use to be, just one more one last time. Though it had felt so right in the moment, the two had been together for thirteen years and in a moment of weakness shared one last night together. However when the morning came, so came the feeling of regret over what they had done. Especially since Jocelyn was technically in a relationship with Clay.
Finally in Febuary of 2255 the divorce was finalized, with primary custody of Joanna being awarded to Jocelyn. However Leonard was still given full visitation rights to his daughter. Leonard was incredibly bitter and hurt over the divorce, still unable to fully let Jocelyn go, and had decided being forced to watch Jocelyn start her new life was too much and the rash decision to join Starfleet happened.
It had been his need to get as far as he could from having to see Jocelyn be happy, his guilt over his father’s death ( A guilt that tripled when a cure was found for the illness was discovered), and the death of a young girl, a patient of his who had the dream of one day becoming a Starfleet Captain had been the final push for him to say ‘Fuck it’ and sign up for Starfleet. That was how one Leonard Horatio McCoy ended up on that shuttle in Riverside, Iowa.

bio. a southern gentleman through and through, semaj was born in new orleans. his father was a construction worker and his mother was a nurse, so they were often busy at work for long hours of the day, leaving semaj alone to his own devices. despite them spending a lot of hours at their respective jobs, they still made time to be there for semaj and his younger siblings. they never felt neglected or unloved, even though they did wish that they could see their parents more often during the weekdays. however, their parents more than made up for it on their weekends off. from a young age, semaj had a love of sports; football in particular. while he did participate in a variety of other sports, such as soccer, track and field and basketball, football was his one true love. he was apart of various sports teams growing up, but by the time he reached his high school years, football was the only team he was apart of and dedicated all of his time to. it was the sport that came easiest to him, like second nature. he moved from new orleans to atlanta, georgia when he was eleven years old, for a career opportunity his father had been presented with. and just a few short years later, he moved from atlanta to columbus so his mother could be closer to her family after her parents passed away. family was a big thing in the houston household. his father was orphaned at a young age and spent his youth in the foster care system, so the family he built and made with semaj's mother was very important to him. so when his mother wanted to move to be close to her other family members, his father didn't hesitate to agree. his senior year of high school came, and with it he was granted a football scholarship to the university of ohio, which he accepted happily. he took on the position of the team's quarterback, and quickly became known as one of the best players on the team - along with jalen. jalen quickly became an important fixture in his life. what started out as a friendship between two guys, quickly blossomed into something else when jalen came out to semaj. semaj had always considered himself to be straight, and it was only when he met jalen that he started to realize that maybe he wasn't as straight as he thought he was. which was quite eye opening and shocking for him, but as someone who didn't have anything against the lgbtq+ community, he came to terms with it rather quickly, and a romance with jalen quickly became. however, their romance didn't last long. due to the pressures of appearing as heterosexual in the sports world, the two of them parted ways when they were both drafted into the nfl - jalen going to new york and semaj going back to his original hometown of new orleans to play for the saints. even after all these years, semaj still loves jalen. and now that he's in new york for the unforeseeable future, he plans on making his way back into jalen's life. even if it's just as a friend. personality. while he is a southern gentleman at heart, he does have a flirty and promiscuous nature that's pretty innate. he's never been a fuckboy, or one to break people's hearts, but he does have quite a long list of lovers. he can honestly say that out of the many on that list, only one or two can say that things ended badly. he can be moody at times, and that paired with his nonchalant attitude can make him come across as uncaring or like he has no empathy or sympathy for others, which couldn't be further from the truth. semaj is a kindhearted person, but he can get in his own head sometimes and his mood sours.
connections. frenemies. they only get along when it's beneficial to the both of them. party friend(s). one thing about semaj is, he loves a good club and a good night of club hopping. your muse usually goes along for the ride. celeb friend(s). always seen out together, whether that be at events, clubs, restaurants, etc. everyone knows they're close friends and they oftentimes mention each other in interviews. best friend. the one person that knows everything about semaj and vice versa. friends to the very end. the only person semaj ever told about the relationship he had with jalen. usual hookup(s). the people that semaj usually hits up for a booty call. they both understand that it's just sex, and they like it that way. semaj usually makes breakfast for them the morning after, just to be a good host. shipped. this is someone that semaj has been linked with romantically by the press. they're not dating, but they did go on one date after being setup by mutual friends, but it went absolutely nowhere. they have no idea how their one date was leaked to the public, but now everyone thinks they're the next big couple. bonus points if their management/pr teams encourage it. etc. open to anything else!

Need For Skilled Elder Care in DeKalb County and Alpharetta, GA
It is usual for an older adult to become forgetful frequently. Instances of misplacing medications, keys, and reading glasses are common. The family members at home need to understand the seriousness of the situation and offer assistance as required. Often, the mental abilities of the patient begin to decrease substantially, affecting their day-to-day lives too. Known as dementia in medical jargon, the family members need to consider hiring a trained professional to provide dementia care in Atlanta and Douglasville, GA.   The family members, especially the children, are dismayed at the events and hope to do their best for the ailing parent. Sadly, trying to cater to a person suffering from memory loss is not an easy task. Moreover, the adult children cannot afford to put their lives on hold to care for the patient with dementia.
Reaching out for help and hiring a professional with the requisite expertise and experience is the only way to care for a patient who cannot differentiate between the essentials and the frivolous. The benefits of professional care are immense, with the following benefits being significantly appreciated by the family of the patient: -
· Expert Dementia Care- Providing the right sort of care to patients with dementia can be challenging. The professional care provider will indeed have the required knowledge, skills, and training for it. The best caregivers will not only help the patient with day-to-day necessities but will also address the traits of dementia, such as aimless wandering, and/or aggression effectively.
· Improved Safety- With the patient forgetting most things, ensuring their safety becomes the most important. Such patients are known to slip and fall frequently and may touch live electric wires without knowing the consequences. The care provider is responsible for keeping a watchful eye on the patient 24/7. Moreover, the care provider can request the family to provide senior proof of the home to minimize the risks of accidents. Accompanying the patient on strolls, even in the garden, is essential to ensure complete safety for a person who cannot decide between right and wrong.
· Emotional SupportBeing by the patient's side daily can result in recognition in patients with early stages of dementia. Speaking to the patient and answering their queries regularly can help convey friendship and companionship. The patient thus feels assured and loved once again. Indulging in activities regularly can help them improve their mental cognition slowly but surely.
· Support for Family & Caregivers- Looking after a patient with dementia can be highly demanding. Raising the voice does not work in such cases, especially when the patient cannot recall anything. Having a trained care provider take on this responsibility can be immensely helpful for the family and the existing care provider, who will have their responsibilities reduced and made manageable.
It is common to be diagnosed with many health conditions in advanced age. Hiring a professional for elder care in DeKalb County and Alpharetta, GA, can be effective in many ways. The resident can continue to live in familiar surroundings without being compelled to move into assisted living facilities.

Once again I am looking towards Drew Magary for inspiration. In his latest Jamboroo, he starts by asking: Let’s Remember Our Cars. https://defector.com/lets-remember-our-cars?giftLink=ac2b35bae9bbd5319d729ac26c876081
Well, don’t mind if I do!
My car history is pretty short so far. I’m 35, going to be 36 in a couple of months, and I have only owned 3 cars to date. However, I’m going to start my car history with a car I did not own.
CAR NUMBER 1
Back when I was a senior in high school in 2007, I was getting tired of the school bus life. The afternoon bus driver was a German guy with a short fuse and he would literally stop the bus to yell at kids for misbehaving. Meanwhile I’m just sitting there listening to my iPod, not causing any trouble, just wanting to get home already. The bus also stopped at the entrance to my neighborhood because I lived in a gated community, which is a phrase that makes it sound way fancier than it is; it’s a condo complex of small but cute condo homes built in 1983, my mom’s a teacher, we are not flush with money. I would need to walk from the stop to my house, which involved going up a hill because this is Atlanta and everything is on a hill.
I even decided to stop taking the bus altogether and take the MARTA bus home instead. It stopped at the intersection closest to my school, but the stop by my house was not super close either. I would need to walk downhill to get home. Plus, taking the public bus costs money.
My best friend growing up was named Caitlin, and her older sister is Chelsea. Chelsea is a year older than us and was always a year ahead of us in school, so when I was a senior, she was already off to college. She went as far away from Atlanta as you can do while still being in America - she went to the University of Hawaii. To this day she still lives in Honolulu! When she left for Hawaii, she left behind her car, a gray first-generation Kia Sportage 3-door soft top convertible.
If you’re picturing a sporty convertible car like a Corvette or something, put that thought out of your mind. This was a very tiny version of an SUV or crossover or Jeep. Caitlin’s mom warned me that trying to take off the soft top was extremely difficult to do, so I never actually tried. The radio did not work, so the only way to enjoy music while driving was to play CDs. I burned lots and lots of mix CDs! One time, my mom offered to drive the car up the street and fill it up with gas. Unfortunately the mix CD I had in the car at the time featured the song “Hit ‘Em Up” by Tupac, which is…a very explicit song. When she got back from the gas station, she was a bit surprised to hear that song! Sorry, Mom.
That little car served me well for most of senior year. I wanted to use it in my homecoming parade to represent the school’s chapter of Young Democrats, but then the parade was canceled due to inclement weather. Parking at my school is notoriously difficult because it’s an old building, so those of us who couldn’t secure a parking permit would park on nearby residential streets. I chose a less-crowded street because the idea of parallel parking stressed me out, as it still does to this day.
As my graduation date drew nearer, though, I would soon have the opportunity to own my first car.
CAR NUMBER 2
I was with my dad the day he bought this car, not knowing it would become my car a few years later. We went to Saturn of Gwinnett and he purchased a red 2002 Saturn SC-2 coupe that was nearly new - a customer had purchased it totally new, but then changed their mind and sold it back, so it was basically new but without the new price. When I was learning to drive, and spending weekends with my dad, he’d take me out on the road in that car. I would often play The Killers’ debut album. I did a lot of my learning to drive in that Saturn!
During my high school years, one by one my dad’s family members died. My grandma, my grandpa, my uncle, all gone within a matter of years due to various cancers. My dad was the executor, settling all the estates, and that meant he was able to take possession of my uncle’s Buick sedan. Uncle Bill was a Buick man through and through. He’d lease a new one every year or two and then it was on to the next one. He was no rich man - he worked at the steel mill in town, the pollution from which probably contributed to his death - but he loved his Buicks.
With Dad taking over the Buick, he gave me the Saturn, and it became the first car that ever had my name on the title. I started driving it at the end of my senior year, drove it all through college and drove it until 2013. I decorated it with bumper stickers, I used a cassette adapter to play my iPod through the radio, I loved its quirky third door that could only be opened if the driver’s door was open. When I moved out of the college dorm after freshman year, I was able to stuff everything from my room into that car and drive back home in just one trip. I drove that car, with Caitlin in it also, to Borders Bookstore for the midnight release party of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - an end of an era. This was the first car I ever drove to my office, where I still work now!
However, the car did have some issues. It hydroplaned really easily, and Atlanta’s streets often develop really big puddles if it rains really hard, so I had to be very careful in the rain. The sunroof leaked at one point, creating ugly staining on the top of the door frames. My friend Amanda’s then-boyfriend Joe was a car guy and he sealed up the sunroof, fixing the issue but also removing the functionality. Then, in fall of 2013, a bunch of issues developed at once. Considering the potential cost of repairs versus the high mileage, I decided it was not worth it to throw good money after bad. It was time to trade this car in while it still had some value and move on to Car 3.
Coda:
If I’m remembering the location of Saturn of Gwinnett correctly, it’s now an independent car dealership called Atlanta Luxury Motors.
There was also a Saturn of Decatur dealership closer to home. For a while after that, it was some weird independent place, but now? Now it’s Stivers Decatur Subaru, where my husband works, and we’ll come back to that in a bit.
CAR NUMBER 3
In fall 2013, my mom’s car - a white 1996 Toyota Corolla, the other vehicle I learned to drive in, and which she had bought new 17 years previously - was also reaching that Good Money After Bad point. The head gaskets went, and I think some other issues developed too. After a frantic call to her older brother for advice, he said it was time for something new, and she purchased her current car: a gray 2013 Kia Rio.
I was impressed by the experience she had at the Kia dealership, so I decided to go there first when I was shopping. Though I did also stop by a couple of other places, including a CarMax where the A/C must have been malfunctioning at the time because it was uncomfortably warm inside and smelled like feet, I ended up returning to that Kia dealership and purchasing the first car I had test-driven: a dark gray 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. I’m pretty sure it had previously been a rental car because it had red-white-and-black No Smoking stickers in two different spots on the center console and stickers inside the driver’s side door that detailed the service intervals for cars from many different brands.
I DROVE that car! It went on multiple road trips as far away as Cincinnati in one direction and Orlando in the other direction. It had Bluetooth, so I could play my music that way, and the radio display had two whole lines of text (though it did not know what to do with Japanese text). It was great on gas, a smooth ride, never gave me many issues. Well, aside from a botched recall in 2020 that left me without airbag functionality for months on end. Since it was 2020, though, I wasn’t really going anywhere. I also needed the alternator replaced at one point.
That car was surprisingly capacious, too. It had a big trunk! I carried a few big-ticket items in it at one point, but the biggest-ticket item by far was a whole entire transmission that my husband purchased for his project car. I also really tested its passenger capacity once when I drove my mom, two of my aunts and my cousin around town for a day. It was up to the task, no matter what the task was.
It’s also an extremely common car. A person three houses down from us owns the exact same car and I see plenty of them around, to the point that I would call them out as such: a Fraternal Car Twin was a 10th generation Corolla in a different color or a dark gray one that was not an LE trim level. An Identical Car Twin, though, is a dark gray LE 10th generation Corolla. I often joked about seeing if there’s a Facebook group just for people with the exact same car as me. If so, it probably has a million people in it at least.
When I first met my now-husband in 2015, he bought a box of Toyota oil filters so he could do oil changes for me at his work. He never did get all the way through that box of filters. I used to say that I was going to drive that Corolla until it fell apart, at which point he would put it back together and we’d keep on going. I would see news articles about Toyotas with extremely high miles - 300k or more, and there’s a million-mile Toyota out there - and say “goals”.
But sometimes a golden opportunity just falls into your lap and you can’t say no. Enter Car 4.
CAR NUMBER 4:
This story actually starts all the way back in 2018, when I went to the Atlanta Auto Show with my husband. The Subaru area of the show included a fenced-off area where you could play with or perhaps even adopt puppies, in keeping with the brand’s reputation as being the car for pet people, as well as their latest models. I took a photo of, and briefly sat inside, a shiny new dark blue Impreza hatchback and declared it my dream car. Later on Facebook, I captioned the photo something like “Oh, you’re so pretty, but you’re too pricey!”
Six years later, my husband’s coworker was asked to do the Certified Pre-Owned inspection on a (not dark) blue 2022 Subaru Impreza hatchback. The dealership’s receptionist had traded it in for a new Subaru. He messaged me a picture of the car and said something like “Look what my coworker is doing the Certified Pre-Owned inspection on. I know what you’re going to say…” assuming that I would say it’s so pretty but no thank you.
I think he was surprised when I said “Hold on a second. Tell me more.”
I’ve always wanted a blue car. I really wish the Corolla had been blue because its blue finish was really pretty. And since 2015, I’ve had a front-row seat to the offerings of the Subaru Corporation, so I got to know their lineup pretty well.
The car passed the inspection with flying colors and I even got to see the full inspection report. The technicians have to check on about 150 different things! It’s very extensive.
So, I cleaned out my Corolla and drove it down to my husband’s work one fine Saturday, just a couple of days after the Impreza was on the inspection lift. A few hours and one test drive later, it was mine!
I’ve only had it for a couple of months so far, but it’s a fabulous little car. The hatch is surprisingly spacious, as is the back seat - I think I read that it leads its class in backseat room. I now have a touchscreen, blind spot monitoring, a backup camera (a feature I always wanted in my Corolla) and adaptive cruise control. The car automatically turns on the headlights for me and starts up keylessly. I’ve even gotten used to the gas cap being on the right instead of the left.
I’ve put it through its paces for passenger capacity by driving my husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law around. All passengers reported a comfortable ride, which could not be said about the backseat of the Corolla. We plan to use it on a road trip up to Cincinnati for Christmas. The car has not yet needed any routine maintenance, but I happen to know exactly where to take it when it does.
Recently, my photos from that 2018 auto show resurfaced in my memories - and I smiled, because I was able to make my dream a reality.
Now, if you asked my husband to do this Remember Some Cars exercise, he would go on quite a bit longer. Mechanics tend to drive cheap cars that they fix up themselves, but have more turnover. His car history has many more chapters than mine. But even though mine is a short book, it’s still a good book!
