— CHRISTMAS SPIRIT : twisted wonderland
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[synopsis] they couldn’t go back home for the holidays, so how do they spend them with you?
[characters] ace, riddle, kalim, vil, malleus
[content warnings] food is mentioned
Tumblr media
★﹕ACE TRAPPOLA — building a snowman
The streets were decorated with colorful lights, lamp posts had ribbons wrapped around them, and kids were running around playing with the snow. You could tell it was Christmas season from a mile away just by looking at the huge Christmas tree that decorated the park.
Even if it was around 7 pm, the streets were full of people shopping at the last hour. The windows of the stores were all advertising discounts to get more sales, from expensive items to affordable ones.
Ace had already bought your gift weeks ago. It was something you mentioned you wanted once, you probably had forgotten about it, but he had saved for months just to see the smile on your face when you opened it.
While walking to a cafe Cater recommended, you saw some kids making a snowman together in a nearby park while their parents chatted while sitting on a bench. Grabbing Ace's hand, you rushed to a spot in the park and rolled some snow to make the body. He protested at first but he got to work almost immediately.
Helping you decorate it was the fun part. He collected some pebbles while you continued molding it. As he decorated the face so it would look like it was frowning, he laughed at you for protesting about the facial expression. Ace said it was ‘the best snowman in the park’ and that you both ‘won against those kids’. You grabbed your scarf and wrapped it around the snowman, claiming it was so it wouldn't 'feel cold'.
Sadly, you forgot the weather was below 0°; but before you could even say something or complain, you felt Ace wrapping his red scarf carefully around your neck.
“Sheesh, I’m your boyfriend, and you’re favoring a snowman over me. I'm going to freeze now, you know? …I'm just teasing, let's go or we won't find any tables available.”
★﹕RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS — decorating a gingerbread house
Usually, Sam makes Christmas sales in the Mystery shop around December, but this year it made a huge fuss because of the new items he added. The students that stayed in school grounds were buying almost everything, so you thought you could check it out.
All the items were eye-catching, but a particular gingerbread house set stood out the most. It was selling fast, and you wanted one, so why wouldn't you buy one to decorate with your boyfriend?
Riddle couldn't say he was surprised when you showed up in his room with a box of frosting sleeves and gingerbread walls. A few Heartslabyul students who stayed too bought some sets and decorated them in the common areas (and that got them collared, which made them have to go to their own rooms or the cafeteria tables). He thought about it and decided to give it a try, since he wanted to spend time with you and he already finished his book of crosswords.
His side of the gingerbread house looks neat, exactly like a model a company would use in an advertisement, following the instructions carefully paid off. Your side looks slightly messy, with the frosting dripping on the sides and some of the candy falling off. The best way to describe it would be like an earthquake happened, and it only affected half the house. But Riddle still liked it; he could see the effort you put into it; you could even say he felt fond of it.
Riddle had a lot of fun decorating and spending time with you. You handed him the colorful chocolate candy package as he gave the final touches on the ceiling.
It wasn't the perfect house, but it was one made by the both of you.
“It isn’t tidy or neat, yet it has a certain charm to it... Don't put frosting on my face!”
★﹕KALIM AL-ASIM — singing christmas carols
He really likes spoiling you, and you could tell that he was planning something big due to how big his grin had been since December started.
Kalim promised to walk you to Ramshackle after the end of your classes, promising to spend the rest of the day with you. He even finished his homework for the end of the break early so Jamil couldn't object!
The second the bell that indicated the start of winter break rings, Kalim rushes out of the classroom, going straight to the stairs so he could go meet you on another floor. Jamil had to yell at him from a distance to not walk too quickly or he would slip and fall off the stairs. Kalim looks like an excited puppy waiting for you in the hallway, wanting to receive that kiss you always give him as s greeting, it's the best part of his day.
He grabs your hand and starts walking to Ramshackle, excitedly telling you about his plans for the both of you for the winter break, talking about the gifts he will send to his siblings, and about the meal you can both have on the 25th. When the both of you run out of conversation topics, Kalim just hums the melody of a carol, swinging the arm, holding your hand back and forth, and walking as quick as he could.
Kalim looks back at you, giving you the brightest smile he can physically make, and asks you to sing along with him. He'll teach you the lyrics. Or maybe, if you want to, you can both sing carols from your world.
He's just a big fan of carols; he even tells you about how Jamil and he sang them together every Christmas when they were kids. He would love the idea of being able to sing with you together; he wants to know more about you and the traditions in your world.
“Come on, let’s sing together! We can be like a duo; it’ll be so much fun!”
★﹕VIL SCHOENHEIT — watching christmas movies
As soon as he found out you were staying at the school grounds during the holidays, he invited you to stay in Pomefiore. Vil can't have you getting sick or getting your skin dry; the coldness of the environment wasn't good for anyone's skin.
Vil arranged a room for you with all the necessary things you could need, even preparing a set of expensive pajamas he bought for you as an early gift, yet you still sneaked at night to sleep in his bed. It's not like he was complaining; it helped him sleep better at night. You are made to go to sleep early anyway, sleeping is important to maintain your natural beauty.
The second day you opened in your laptop the huge catalog of the (expensive) streaming service you bought especially for the holidays. You asked Vil to watch some Christmas movies with you and he agreed. He knew you weren't familiar with this world's iconic movies, so he would act as your guide.
The both of you made it a habit to sit in his bed a few hours before bedtime and watch some Christmas movies. You played a movie he recommended or that caught your eye, got comfortable, laid your head on his shoulder, and he got to speak about his thoughts on the actor's performance. This was the routine you both followed every day. But one particular movie caught your eye—one he starred in months before entering NRC.
It was good; it was a rom-com where he starred as a side character. You found yourself watching it multiple times, even in his absence. It was a movie with a good plot, your boyfriend starred in it, and he got to talk about the behind the scenes. It was a win-win.
“Did you enjoy my performance, hm? My acting is always on point; expect nothing but the best from me.”
★﹕MALLEUS DRACONIA — sharing hot chocolate
Since Malleus stayed behind because he wanted to spend the holidays with you, that meant the rest of the Diasomnia family did too, so they were all invited to a Christmas sleepover at Ramshackle. And he could never decline an invitation, especially from you.
Sebek was delighted to drink something sweet, just like Grim, who was happy to be able to eat whatever he wanted. Lilia was reminiscing over old memories of when they were younger, like a proud father would, and Silver was listening and adding more to what Lilia was saying.
There was something comforting about the heat coming from the mug he was holding and the sweater you bought specially for him. Malleus has never been sensitive to the cold weather, but the warmth he felt in his heart seeing how well you got along with important people in his life was more than welcomed. It was simple—nothing like the fancy celebrations at his castle back home—just the six of you spending time together while chatting about anything.
It wasn't a foreign feeling; he often felt this way around you, but he could never get enough of it. He smiled at you as you refilled Sebek's mug, who was discussing with Silver about their childhood memories, while you listened intently, clearly interested. Lilia noticed Malleus staring at you and teased him about it, but Malleus only smiled proudly at him and kept drinking from his mug; some of the marshmallows you added to his cup sinking to the bottom.
If any other student witnessed it, they would be speechless over how Malleus Draconia, the scary prince nobody wants to anger, was so content drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows in a snowman mug. But they would be even more speechless if they saw the tender way he looked at you.
“This night has been nothing but delightful; you surprise me more and more every day. I want nothing more than to make more memories like this with you.”

Kate Bishop x Reader : Kiss Me
Summary: The time has arrived to bring the holiday spirit into your home. Covers the ‘Decorations’ square of Holiday Bingo.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1k
* * * * * * *
Snow slowly falls from the sky, further covering the ground below, and adding to the vibe you were working to create.
Standing in front of the large windows, you reach into the bag at your side and pull out yet another red snowflake sticker. You take a small step back to look over the expanse of the window, making sure you space out the red and green stickers properly. With the visual confirmation that you have, you step closer again and stick the red snowflake on the glass.
After that, you turn to the box on the table and take out the tangled up string of holiday lights.
“I thought you said you untangled these things.” Your teasingly accusatory tone cuts through the air that, previously, was only filled with the sounds of rummaging and Sleigh Ride by the Nickelodeon Cast.
From downstairs, Kate’s head pops around the corner, eyes a little wide like she’s been caught. She knows that she has when she sees jumbled up cables in your hands.
“Okay, I started to,” she begins her explanation while stepping further into view,“ and I even got a few of them done but my arms got tired and the chords were so long.. so I quit.” Her sentence ends with a pout.
You can’t help but shake your head, a low chuckle falling from your lips as you drop the lights back into the box.
In all fairness, it’s always a hassle to untangle your Christmas lights. Granted, had they been stored properly in the first place, this wouldn’t have been a problem but that’s neither here nor there.
With the window and landing decorated completely, well, almost completely, you head back down the stairs. Your girlfriend is still standing by the stairs with a pout on her lips.
“It’s okay baby,” you assure her with a gentle hand on her cheek,“ I probably wouldn’t have done them all either.” You run your thumb over her pouty lips and it elicits a smile from her, right before she kisses your thumb.
“You didn’t need them anyway, it looks great.” She says while slipping an arm around your waist, pulling you flush into her side.“ I do think it’s missing something though.”
A frown instantly covers your features and you snap your gaze away from her over to the window and landing. How could something be missing? You were over there for nearly an hour, doing your absolute best to make the space look as festive as possible.
The plan to decorate the apartment was made long before today. In fact, when you moved in with Kate earlier in the year you both discussed your favorite holidays and how you would want to spend them now that you live together. One of your favorites had always been Christmas and decorating was an absolute must.
So, the instant stores started selling decorations, you and your girlfriend were buying them. Bit by bit you acquired all the items you needed to “perfectly” decorate the apartment: garland, stickers, ornaments, lights, a tree, etc.
With everything ready to go, you woke up this morning on a mission to fully decorate the apartment. After big steaming mugs of hot cocoa, topped with a few too many marshmallows, were made and your Christmas playlist was blasting through the apartment, you began.
Kate’s place being so open was both a challenge and a blessing. It served as a huge blank canvas but the lack of walls meant that certain decorations couldn’t be used.
Still, you made it work. The tree was up in the living/dining room, lights and garland wrapped around it with ornaments spread about on it. Lights were strung up on the wall and the figurines you bought were scattered around on tables and shelves.
Very little was done to the kitchen, just some mini tree figures on the island, mini wreaths on every other cabinet, and a red Christmas themed rug on the floor.
Kate’s archery/workout area just had tinsel and lights strung up around the archway and she hung some ribbons from the shelves.
Then there’s the landing, which you worked on. It was decorated with snowflake stickers on the windows, tinsel looping along the tops of them, while fake snow covered the window sill and the floor below it with mini snowmen and penguins on top. You’d also wrapped some lights and tinsel around the stair railings.
It looks amazing. Perfect even. So you’re confused as to what your girlfriend means.
“Okay no.” You shake your head, looking from Kate to the landing.“ I did an incredible job. There’s nothing miss-”
When you look back at the brunette she’s sporting a smirk, her other arm raised up as she holds a singular mistletoe above your head.
“I think the space could definitely use a few of these.” She whispers with implication.
“Oh? You really think they’ll make a difference?”
The small gap between you two has been gradually closing since she held the mistletoe up, her lips but a whisper away from yours.
“You tell me.” Are her words before she closes that miniscule gap and crashes her lips onto yours.
Hands instantly wrap around her waist as you equally melt into the kiss and her embrace. She drops the mistletoe, freeing her hand so that she can raise it and cup your cheek.
You feel the corners of her lips quirk up a little as she fights a smile but it inevitably comes up anyway and the second your lips meet her teeth you pull away with a giggle.
Smile still lighting up her face she asks,“ you think it’ll make a difference?”
“Definitely,” you nod, still a little dazed from the kiss.
Kate smirks, pecking your lips softly before she scoops up the mistletoe and moves to hang it from the doorway into her training area.
“Nope, we’re gonna need more.” Grabbing her waist, you pull her back into you," a whole lot more.” You mumble before initiating yet another kiss.

Witches Can Be Good | Supernatural x Scarlet Witch! Reader - Part 1
This is intended to be a short story/one shot. I wrote this when I had a sudden idea of a crossover between Supernatural and the Scarlet Witch. Also available on my Wattpad and Quotev! Enjoy!
This inspired by a tumblr post: The Sweet Old Lady is a Witch by Thera. I really love her Wanda/Y/n OC and the story! Here's her story: https://thera-daydreams.tumblr.com/post/658041636626022400/
Supernatural x Scarlet Witch! Reader
I do not own Marvel or Supernatural.

Part 1: Into the World of Supernatural
Wanda was done and tired.
After going through the multiverse with Dr. Strange and Loki, after Westview, after sacrificing everything over and over and over again Wanda was done and tired.
She looked tiredly towards the two friends that had grown on her. The two friends that had become brothers to her. Sensing her stare they turned to her, silence questioning in their eyes as she smiled tiredly at them.
"I think I'm done."
...
"... you're done...?" Dr. Strange repeated, not fully understanding what Wanda was implying.
"I'm tired, Stephen. I want to relax, sit down for a while... maybe watch the flowers grow."
Loki looked at her with a contemplative look before nodding, "Where will you go?"
"Anywhere but here." Wanda automatically responded, "I don't care if there's heroes there or anything really. As long as the world is somewhat normal and similar and they leave me alone, anywhere is fine."
Both Strange and Loki looked at each other before carefully taking Wanda's hands in theirs, a gesture that they had come up with to comfort each other. They had all gotten close together after all they had went through.
"We'll call you if we need you." Strange commented.
"And we'll keep in touch." Loki added, elbowing Strange who lightly glared back at him, "We won't bother you too often. Go live your 'normal' life."
"You deserve it." Strange tried to redeem himself, gaining a small grin from Wanda. "Just try not to cause any trouble. Or rather, trouble we'll have to intercept in." Loki elbowed him again.
"I'll try my best." Wanda only smiled, squeezing her hands that held theirs before letting go. "I better get going now."
"See you around Wanda."
"I think a fresh start needs a new name, doesn't it?" Strange said suddenly.
"Strange I think that's the first good idea I've heard come from your mouth." Loki scoffed, grinning as Strange looked at him offended. "I've always been partial to the name Y/n."
"Y/n L/n it is." Strange proudly smiled ignoring the look Loki gave him as he looked at Wanda- at Y/n.
"Really? L/n?"
"I think it sounds nice, Loki." Y/n reassured the god. At those words he automatically changed his mind.
"Yes, Y/n L/n surely fits you."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Y/n sighed as she finally finished conjuring up all of the new items for her new home. She had already put a spell around it, ensuring that those who entered her new home would feel safe, warm, and comfortable. She wanted the exact opposite of Westview. She carefully hid the runes, making them small and they camouflaged well with the decorative wallpaper.
She had bought a small store, her home right above it. The store, Y/n decided, was going to sell things that she took comfort in. Books, plants, and a couple assorted goods if she felt like baking in the kitchen. There was even a section for artists to paint and for others to just sit in the bean bags and relax or read a good book.
Speaking of books, the town she moved into was awfully generous. After hearing she was going to open a bookstore, the resident librarian, who was an old, dying man, came up to her. He loved his books as if they were his own children. But his grandchildren didn't want to take over the library and he didn't want to see all of his books get tossed away.
And so, the old man generously gave Y/n most of the books from his library. He kept some and donated the rest to charity. Y/n's little shop was going well. Y/n didn't mind much about the slow business, she just wanted to relax and take in every moment. Something that she never would have done before.
But as each day passed, Y/n couldn't help herself but to find out the secret of this world. The supernatural existed.
It didn't come as much of a shock for Y/n, considering she was partly supernatural, but to hear the benevolent spirits and ghosts gossiping about ghosts who had fallen into rage and anger confused her. It baffled her so much to hear about ghosts actually having the ability to kill people, so she separated ghosts into two categories.
Astral ghosts. Ghosts of the dead who wandered in the astral plane, patiently waiting for something to occur before accepting their death. These were the ghosts that never went angry or fell into a random rage. Like the poor old librarian. He was waiting for his grandchildren to visit either his grave, the shut down library, or Y/n's bookstore before passing on. In the meantime, he continued his daily routines as if he were alive.
Then there were the angry ghosts. Not a very original name, Y/n knew, but it was simple enough for her to understand. They were the ghosts that fell into darkness and killed others, overwhelmed with rage to even see reason.
She didn't worry much about those ghosts, because the ones that were in her small town were given free therapy by her, and easily lost their anger and passed on to the afterlife with the reaper guiding them.
The other supernatural things? Y/n read up on them with the books given to her in the library, but other than that, she didn't care about them. If they were to ever show up at her town, she would make sure to deal with it so that everyone would be safe. But as she settled in and let her guard down for the next couple months, a little shapeshifter decided that her small town would be the perfect place to stir some trouble.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"I'm Agent Adam Clayton, and this is my partner Agent Larry Mullen. We're with the FBI. We'd like to ask you a couple questions about a couple customers you've had."
Y/n stared wearily at the two men who had entered her shop. Just by reading their minds she could tell their names were false, especially since they were the same names as the band members from U2. However, she didn't comment on it, considering they were partially telling the truth about asking questions of her customers.
"What have my customers done to get attention from the FBI?" Y/n asked curiously, although she continuously kept reading their minds for answers.
"Just a couple of them have gone missing ma'am. We're hoping you could give us any clues as to where they've gone."
Getting enough answers from reading the tall one's mind (he thought a lot and his thoughts were practically screaming at her) she nodded at them. Hunters that hunt and kill the supernatural? Y/n guessed they were the hero equivalent in this world. The only question left would be if they would kill her if they found out she was also a 'witch.' "So, which customers?"
"Robert Dunn, Todd Alexander, and Philip Navarro." the shorter one answered her. They watched her as she continued to walk around her shop, watering her plants.
Y/n took her time to recall them, "Well, the three of them were all from out of town. We've never had that many visitors before so it was easy to remember them. They all liked to talk too." Y/n frowned at the thought of those conversations she had with them. But now that she actually thought about it, the thoughts of the 3 customers were somewhat similar.
The taller one, catching Y/n's frown, continued to question her. "What did they talk about?"
"You know, simple 'What's your name?' or 'Could I get your number?' They were all particularly flirty."
"So would you say no if I asked for your number?" 'Adam Clayton' couldn't help but comment, getting elbowed by 'Larry Mullen.' Wow, these boys really reminded Y/n of Stephen and Loki.
"I'd tell you the same response I told those men. I'm not interested in a relationship right now. Taking a break from that." Y/n handed 'Adam' a yellow tulip. At the questioning look, Y/n answered him, "So you don't feel too bad. Yellow tulips mean joy and a whole lot of other things."
"Do you give every man you reject a yellow tulip?" 'Adam' pouted causing Y/n to grin slightly.
"Well, any type of yellow flowers work. Yellow flowers in general symbolize spreading happiness and joy."
"Sorry- about the men? What happened after that?" 'Larry' steered them back on track.
"Oh, they all left the store looking somewhat upset but also giddy. Philip said he'd be back to try again though he hasn't been back in a week already."
'Larry' nodded, seemingly getting all the information he wanted and thanking Y/n politely before taking 'Adam' with him to stop him from flirting any further with Y/n.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"So the only connection right now is Y/n, but why?" Sam questioned, going through a book he had borrowed at Y/n's store earlier.
"She's a hot chick. Who wouldn't go and take a chance to ask her out?" Dean replied, happily munching on a burger as he sat on the couch of their motel room.
"You think she's the one who's been killing them?" Sam asked, "It's a possibility."
"Remember what Philip told her?" Dean reminded Sam, "He'd be back to try again. Pretty creepy if you ask me."
"So a shapeshifter?"
"Bingo!"
"That seems a little far fetched, Dean."
"Hey, all we gotta do is watch the chick and then we'll figure out if it's her or if it's a shapeshifter. Easy solution! Or we could get access to her security cameras."
Sam grunted as he closed the book, flopping onto his bed. "She doesn't have any. I checked. Please tell me you at least find that suspicious."
"Hey, maybe she can't afford them! Town's pretty small, her shop's pretty small, she might not get a lot of income, you know?" Dean stood up, walking to the door, "I'm gonna get a drink, wanna come?"
Sam didn't respond and Dean took that as a no, leaving for the nearest bar. He kept walking to the bar he saw close-by, but just as he turned the corner, a fist hit his face and he blacked out.
.
.
.
As Dean came back into consciousness, he was greeted by the sight of Philip shedding his skin and forming into himself. Damn, he was right. It was a shapeshifter. The shapeshifter merely glanced at the tied up Dean, glaring deadly holes into him. "She's mine..!" he hissed at Dean, leaving the cold room.
Looking around the room, he saw the bodies of the other men, too late to save them. Philip however, laid unconscious on the floor. Dean could see however that the Shapeshifter had injured Philip greatly and that if he did not get any help right away, he could die. Frantically working at the ropes, Dean could only hope that Sam would get to Y/n on time. (However, Sam was fast asleep, blissfully unaware of what had happened).
.
.
.
Y/n didn't think it was normal of 'Adam' to come knocking at her door, especially at the middle of the night when the store was most definitely closed. She peaked from the safety of her window, using her magic to be invisible just in case she were to be spotted.
'Adam' was filled with possessive thoughts that automatically told Y/n something was wrong. As she shuffled through 'Adam's' memories, she found that most were not there, some floating around, the most recent one being tied up in some kind of basement.
"Hey Miss Y/n...? Are you here?" a shy astral ghost of a child appeared behind her. It was a ghost Y/n had met recently a few weeks ago. At the voice, Y/n moved away from the window and reappeared. "Yes, dear?"
The child stumbled back a bit in surprise but quickly calmed down, looking at her. "Remember how I said what I wanted most was for my dad to visit my grave at least once?"
"Yes?" Y/n whispered quietly back to the child, motherly instincts taking over as she looked at the child gently.
"I changed my mind. He needs help right now. That's what I want most. For dad to live." The ghost child looked at Y/n with determination and Y/n couldn't help but answer their plea.
"Lead the way."
Sneaking out of the house via the backdoor, Y/n followed the ghost child to the other side of town, going into the forest near their town and was led to a cabin. Inside the cabin was a simple bunk bed and a large chest. Nothing inside the cabin seemed to have been used in a while. The only thing that indicated someone- something lived here was the vase filled with yellow flowers at the window sill.
"Here. He's down there." The ghost pointed at the chest, before floating through it and disappearing. Using her magic, Y/n easily pulled the chest out of the way and revealed a passageway with a ladder heading straight down into the darkness. Not seeing her ghost friend, Y/n continued heading down, deeper and deeper until she reached the floor.
It was cold down here. The lights were dim and flickered occasionally, but it was clear that it was being powered by electricity somehow. "This way, this way." The ghost child urged, pointing down the hallway.
Quickly, Y/n rushed, her footsteps echoing as she ran. As she made it to the end of the hallway she saw two corpses, an unconscious Philip and Dean who was looking at her in shock.
"So I'm guessing you're the real 'Adam'?" Y/n asked, although already knowing the answer. She went towards him, untying the ropes as fast as she could. Before Dean could suspect her or say anything Y/n continued to speak, "There was someone who looked like you at my door, but when I zoomed in with my phone to check who it was from the window, your eyes were white." Y/n lied, using the information she knew about shapeshifters to her advantage, "I'm pretty sure that's not exactly normal."
Dean grinned, "Sweetheart, there's a lot of things that aren't normal."
Picking up Philip, the two rushed out of the cabin, not willing to stay any longer to face the shapeshifter. Dean didn't have any gear, and he couldn't risk the lives of two innocent people. However, they didn't make it very far as the Dean clone confronted them in the forest, staring intensely at Y/n.
"Ma'am, back away from the shapeshifter, right now! Don't let it trick you!" the Dean clone shouted at Y/n. If Y/n couldn't read minds, she surely would have felt conflicted right now as Dean also told her,
"He's trying to trick you. Trust me, I'm the real deal. I- I know that sounds bad- but I promise. I'm a hunter. My real name is Dean."
The Dean clone took a step closer causing Y/n to turn to him. "Don't come closer. Mr. Philip needs help right now. I don't care whoever you are as long as he gets help."
Dean, taking advantage of the standstill, grabbed Y/n's hand and started to run, carrying Philip. The motel was nearby, hopefully they could make it and grab Sam's attention somehow.
But the clone was fast. Y/n's eyes narrowed as her other arm was grabbed and she decided that she's had enough. Using her magic she blasted the shapeshifter back. Dean looked at her in shock and fear, but Y/n didn't mind. Those kinds of looks weren't new to her.
"Dean you're a hunter. Do I have to kill the guy or no?" Y/n asked, snapping Dean out of it.
"You're a witch-"
"It's a yes or no question Dean." Y/n snapped, watching blankly as the shapeshifter stood up and began to approach them again, angered.
Taking a step, it jumped at Dean, causing Dean to blurt out a quick "yes!" before the shapeshifter was stopped, floating mid-jump at Dean. The shapeshifter turned to ashes in front of his eyes and Dean turned to look at Y/n with an impassive look.
"I've heard that hunters usually kill witches or anything supernatural, but please get Mr. Philip help first before you decide to kill me."
And with that, Y/n left to her small store, packing up her things in a dimensional pocket. She trusted that Dean would get Philip the help he needed. She just needed to get out of here. If she couldn't convince Dean to not kill her, she would go to another world before he could.
As she quickly finished packing up, the small ghost child appeared before her.
"Thank you for saving dad." the shy ghost looked at the ground, as if blushing from embarrassment.
"It's no problem dear. He was important to you, right? It's important to always care and look out for family." Y/n looked at the ghost kindly, recalling her own family. Reaching out her hand to hold the young ghost's, Y/n gently whispered to them. "I believe it's time for you to rest now, dear."
A reaper appeared next to them, patiently waiting.
"...Will it hurt?"
Y/n smiled at the ghost, reassuring them, "It won't. It'll feel like waking up from a dream."
The shy ghost hugged her tightly, thanking her, before taking the hand of the reaper and disappearing with it. Y/n sighed, relieved that the child was finally at peace. At least they could have the peace Y/n longed for. A gun clicked behind her head. Y/n didn't turn around.
"Explain."
From the voice, Y/n could tell it was the taller brother. 'Larry,' or Sam, had seen, or rather heard the whole interaction. From what he could tell, Y/n was talking to an invisible ghost or spirit and helped it move on to the afterlife. A much different tactic to their usual salt and burn.
"About who I am or what I just did?" Y/n asked.
"Both." Dean came in behind Sam, staring at the witch.
"Hm, well... I'm from a different universe..."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
It wasn't easy, but Sam and Dean believed her story. But even after that they didn't completely trust her, which was understandable. But at least they liked her enough to keep calling to use her books for research, to get extra information for hunts, or for Dean to just get a pie (he would never admit it but Y/n's pies were the best he's ever had).
Y/n was allowed to live in her small town, as long as she promised not to kill anyone or the brothers swore to come back to kill her. But as they kept calling her over and over again to help with more and more hunts, she found herself being invited to live in the Bunker with them.
Some days were odd.
Some days the brothers seemed like they hated her and everything witches.
But most days they enjoyed her company. They enjoyed that there was something out there that was supposed to be bad, but was actually good.
And ever so slowly they got used to her magic.
One time Dean had walked in on her using magic in the kitchen. Tools and ingredients were flying places, a bowl was stirring itself. Y/n was at the oven taste testing some sort of soup. Dean felt like he was having a Harry Potter moment. At Dean's awkward cough, Y/n jumped back slightly and lifted her head.
"Oh! Sorry, were you hungry? Um... the kitchen is kinda occupied right now, but you could have this pie!"
At her words, a pie found itself in a very happy Dean's hands. "What are you making?"
"Some miso soup. I was craving it so I decided to make it. I didn't want to go out."
"So then where'd you get this pie?"
"Oh, I had a feeling you were going to want one later, so I made it earlier!"
Touched by her kindness, Dean nodded, grateful, but he didn't want to be sappy so he happily left with his pie. Y/n chuckled to herself as she heard Dean's thoughts praising her and her pie.
Sam had come to enjoy their conversations on the supernatural. As he had found out, despite being a witch, Y/n had very basic knowledge on the supernatural world and mostly got her information from her books. So, Sam had taken it upon himself to teach Y/n about the most common and dangerous, and most importantly how to kill it.
Sam had been very careful to teach Y/n about the witch-killing spell and bullets. He had nearly freaked when Y/n went and held a bullet, observing it closely before taking it apart with her magic.
"-so these are the bullets and- WAIT NO Y/N IT'LL KILL YOU!" Sam panicked, lunging towards her as Y/n took the bullet apart. Hearing the yell, Dean came running.
"What's happening!?"
At that moment Sam crashed into the couch Y/n was sitting on as she dodged him.
Y/n chuckled, "I'm fine, this won't hurt me. You told me the ingredients, remember? When combined together, yes, they do kill witches. But they won't kill witches like me."
Y/n poked at the bullet before putting it back together and placing the bullet in the case, which Sam immediately closed and put away. "Let's not do that again. E-Even if it won't- I just, I don't want to risk it."
Seeing how much she had made Sam worry, Y/n put her hand gently on Sam's. "I'm sorry Sam. I didn't mean to worry you."
Sam sighed, gently clasping Y/n's hands, "It's alright... you're good. I just... don't want..."
"I know... thank you..." Y/n smiled.
"Aww, look at the two love birds~ get a room already!"
"DEAN SHUT UP!"
However there was a day that Y/n truly treasured. It was the day that both brothers finally put their complete trust in Y/n. This happened during a hunt.
They had quickly figured out it was a ghost and brought Y/n with them so they could finish up quick, but the ghost was more tricky to deal with than they had originally thought.
The ghost was a woman who had been cremated, so there were no remains they could burn. They still had to identify what object the ghost was attached to. It had moved from city to city, so it must have been an object easy to bring along.
Quite easily they could tell it was a vengeful spirit as there was a pattern going on. Mothers were the target, whether they still had kids or not didn't matter apparently. As long as you were a mother at one point (or pregnant), the ghost would come and attack. From what they could get as pretending to be the FBI, the children had seen the ghost that attacked their moms, but the description of the ghost varied from child to child. One thing stayed consistent however, the ghost never touched the kids. At times the ghost had reassured them that everything was okay, that she would take care of them.
As they researched (Sam and Y/n researched, Dean ate on the motel bed), Y/n couldn't help but feel... worried? Sympathetic?
Just from looking at the ghost's targets, Y/n could tell the ghost was a mother at one point in their lives. The ghost was like her, desperate to find and keep her family. Her children. But unlike the ghost, Y/n had learned how to grow from the pain. She had reached the acceptance part in the 5 stages of grief. Yes, she missed her husband and children, but she continued on, knowing that they would be loved and would continue to be loved.
Noticing Y/n spacing out, Dean called out to her. "Hey witchy, you doing okay?"
Y/n looked up at him, "I think I need a break. I'm gonna go for a walk. Wanna come? Sam?"
Dean leaned further into the pillows, "Nah, I'm just gonna relax here."
Sam scowled, "Or you could be helpful and come over here!" to which Dean let out another "nope!" before turning his music up even louder. Sam groaned, "I'm good Y/n, I want to keep researching."
Nodding Y/n left the motel room, taking in the fresh air as she walked.
What she didn't know was that the object the ghost was attached to was in their motel room, and Y/n had left the brothers just before chaos happened.

Welcome to the Freak Show (Christmas Edition)
DESCRIPTION: After you and Eddie make a small new home for yourself you find the Christmas season upon you both.
A/N - Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are having a good festive season! Enjoy some Eddie Munson love for this day (that is semi festive) :)
WORD COUNT: 1045
One Shots / 'Welcome to the Freak Show'
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: established relationship, honestly this is just pure fluff
DISCLAIMERS
This is fiction. Please always talk to your partner before doing anything and make sure they are ok with what you are doing beforehand
This story is based after the events of my series 'Welcome to the Freak Show' (a Stranger Things fan fiction) which I'd recommend reading before or after reading this
You furrow your brow and bite at your bottom lip as you read your book. You had been so caught up in the story that you didn't realise how much time had gone by. So when the front door opened you were shocked to say the least. Bolting up right and shoving the book down onto the soft bed. Eddie sticking his head through as he grins at you.
"You made me jump" you say, a smile forming on your lips as you see the pure joy on his face.
"I have a surprise for you"
"That doesn't sound ominous" his grin growing as he looks outside the door momentarily before looking back at you.
"Shut your eyes" you let out a sigh. Sorting the book so it sits nicely on the bed before shutting your eyes. Placing your hands over them for dramatic effect so he knows you aren't peaking. The noises fill you with both a dread yet excitement as you hear him let out small grunts of... frustration? Struggle? Oh god what has he got you?
"Ok" a small pause "you can open your eyes". You move your fingers from your eyes. Parting them so you can peak out. The worry you had leaving your body as you see a small yet beautiful tree on the kitchen counter. "I know its not very big. But the thought of putting a full Christmas tree in our home just didnt seem like the smartest idea" you smile. Standing up you go over to it. Gently touching the pine needles on it
"Where did you get it from?" you speak softly. As if your breath might blow the tree away.
"Guy near work was selling 'rejected' trees. Ones that grew in a weird shape or didn't grow properly. This one just didn't grow properly" you let out a soft chuckle as you nod. He moves his hands, moving them to in front of him (even though you were so distracted by the tree you didn't realise they were behind his back). Pulling out a small bag and holding it out for you
"An early Christmas present". You meet his dark brown eyes and bite your bottom lip slightly, taking the bag from him you open it up. About half a dozen small ornamental figures sitting inside.
"Eddie... They're beautiful" you pull one out. Smiling as you admire the small, festive rocking horse. You wrap your arms around his neck. Hugging him close to you. The familiar smell of leather and cigarettes filling your nose as he wraps his arms around your waist. You kiss the side of his head before moving away, smiling at him. "Come on. Let's decorate our tree". He chuckles slightly as you carefully empty the bag. Placing the items next to your tree so you can look at them properly.
An angel among the items you pick it up. Straightening out the wings slightly before placing it on top of the tree. You feel him place a hand on your lower back as he grabs one of the ornaments. Placing it onto the branch. The both of you placing the remaining items onto the branches of the tree. You feel him wrap his arms around your waist as he holds you close to him. Your back pressed firmly against his front as you place your hands over his arms.
"I think this is the perfect tree for our perfect home" he kisses your shoulder blade before resting his chin on your shoulder. Nodding at your words.
"I only try and get the best things for my queen" you chuckle slightly. Turning around he moves his head, his hold on your waist loosening slightly as you face him. Hands resting on your hips as you put your arms around his neck. Your fingers touching the soft curls of his hair.
"How did I get so lucky to have you?" a soft smile forms on his lips as he looks at you. Brushing a few hairs out of your face as he speaks in a kind tone
"I think I'm the lucky on in this relationship" you smile. Leaning forward and kissing him softly
"I love you Eddie Munson" you say before planting your lips to his again. He brings both his hands up, cupping your face. Moving away his eyes scan your features, thumb gently stroking your cheekbones before he kisses you again.
"And I love you, my queen" he places a kiss to your forehead before he motions at the book on the bed "What book have you got this time?" you grin. Taking his hand in yours as you pull him over to the bed, sitting down as he goes next to you. He leans near you. His hand resting on the bed behind you as he looks at you. A smile on his lips as you start talking about your book.
"So... Its a romance?" he half mocks. You shake your head, a soft laugh leaving your lips
"No. It's a fantasy book about mythical beasts"
"Where the main character and villian end up hooking up at the end?"
"Well..." a small blush appearing on your cheeks as you look down at your hands "Yes. I suppose it does have some romantic elements to the story line" you mutter. Causing him to let out a low chuckle. He takes your hand in his, kissing the back of it before moving the pillows to rest against he wall. He clumsily takes his shoes off, discarding them on the floor as he brings his legs up and onto the bed. Resting his back against the wall. He picks the book up in his hand, holding it out to you with a smile
"Care to read to me?" you smile, biting your bottom lip. Taking the book from him you lie your legs out next to his, sitting close to him as you find the spot you were at. He puts an arm around you as you lean close to him. His other arm resting over his stomach as he looks at the book. Listening to your calming voice as you tell him the story. Your eyes occasionally glancing up to look at the Christmas tree that you shared in your home.

(so happy your bringing back the birthday takeover interactions for Rollo/Roro/Rolo/Lolo (i give up) i just want to remind you that I love you Miss Raven🫂)
HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYY TO OUR DEAREST PRESIDENT!!! Ehem, excuse my volume, just doing my best to keep the joyous atmosphere.
I hope the decorations are all to your liking, the others and I have done our outmost to keep the room neatly decorated😌 Though... I couldn't stop those Night Raven College students, it was his idea not mine.
*points at NBC Vice President*
As for my gift to you~ Here~
*presents a tiny music box, when turned plays the instrumental to 'Everyone Go Yahoo!' by Neige and the Dwarfs from VDC*
And once again, Happy Birthday to you!
The wording on this interaction is a little confusing; I'm not sure if it comes from a general NBC mob, the student council aide, or another NRC student??? For ease of writing, I'm write from the perspective of a NBC mob. (Fun fact, the Snow White music box image I used for this post is a rare item that sells for several hundreds of dollars 🤑)
Tumblr media
Rollo produced his handkerchief and coughed stiffly into it. “I understand what you are trying to communicate. There is no need to raise your voice. As for the decorations…”
He gave the looks a cursory glance—to give the impression of evaluating it.
There had been painstaking care in the color coordination of the balloons, streamers, and banners: Noble Bell College’s violet, maroon, and black, spackled with golden glitter. Confetti had made its home on the rug and crevices of the floor, and his desk and coffee table hosted platters of cake, bread, cheeses, and grapes. A large bell-shaped piñata hung overhead, waiting to be batted around. And flowers—flowers everywhere.
“… It is beyond my expectations,” he said carefully. Yes, it is beyond my expectations because I never expected this interruption to begin with!! “I must thank you and the others for organizing this celebration. I am humbled to have received such thoughtful attention.”
You flushed with pride at his praise, not recognizing it for the tailored politeness that it was: an act. Your president had always been cool, reserved, and controlled with his emotions.
His face subtly shifted when you presented him with your gift. A slight widening of the eyes, a tick in his jaw. This, you knew, was his “surprised”.
The music box was a marvel. Shaped like a sturdy coffin, it was painted in the earth browns of tree bark, the blues of halcyon skies, and the greens of open grassy fields. Detailed animals eagerly climbed up its sides, while a parade of seven dwarves adorned the lid. The craftsmanship—as much as Rollo loathed to admit it—was impressive.
When you turned the crank to demonstrate its song, the box sprang open, revealing a tiny prince and princess set spinning in an eternal dance. A familiar tune flitted out, at once nostalgic and cheery to the ear. Rollo recognized it immediately.
“This is that popular children’s song.”
“Yeah! It’s going though a huge resurgence in popularity right now. Have you heard the cover Neige and his friends performed of it? It’s sooo cute!!” you gushed.
“Cover?” Rollo’s brow creased. “I apologize. I’m not aware of what you’re referring to, this… Neige-kun character.”
You did a double take. “Wait, seriously? He’s, like, THE biggest celebrity right now! All the outlets call him ‘the fairest one of all’.”
“I’ve never heard of him.”
Your jaw dropped.
Rollo-senpai is such a workaholic that he doesn’t even know Neige at all?! What dedication…! I only wish I could work half as hard as he does!!
Your admiration for him kindled anew.
“Oh gosh… You’re missing out then, Prez! You need to give it a listen when you can. It’ll get the song stuck in your head all over again!”
“I find that I am not a fan of modern renditions of the classics.” Rollo offered a strained smile. “Perhaps I can give it a chance when I can find the time in my busy schedule.”
He doubted it.

(Chapter 1, Chapter 2) Word count: ~2.2k Warnings: SFW, some profanity. Buggy x afab!reader. No use of Y/N. Brief argument, mention of a deceased family member. The title comes from "your whatever" by lovelytheband.
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ ✩ ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
With Buggy in town, you felt comfortable leaving home for the first time in days. Although you two had to work out this “relationship,” at least that was the next step. There were still unknowns and uncertainty, but also hope.
After agreeing to write up a contract over lunch, you excused yourself for a moment to run upstairs and put on clothes that hadn’t been slept in. Thankfully you kept an acceptable standard of hygiene during your isolation, so all you needed was to put on a fresh outfit, shake out your hair, and brush your teeth. You bounded back downstairs in record time and walked into the kitchen. The empty kitchen.
A wooden door leading out of the room was open. You tried to ignore the feelings bubbling in your chest as you peered through the open doorframe and found your visitor.
Buggy was inside, looking at a ship in a bottle. The desire to snatch the item from his presumptuous hold dissolved when you noticed how cautious the pirate was. He held the glass trinket with surprising delicacy, rotating the bottle to see the ship from all angles.
Even though he was a guest in your house, you gently knocked on the door to announce your presence. Buggy glanced over his shoulder and returned the decoration to the wood desk it previously sat on. Well, his hands did. Just his hands, while his body turned to face you. You watched silently, your thoughts retracing their steps as they tried to fall in line with the information your eyes sent over. The puzzled look on your face was met with a grin - the kind where only one person knows the punchline to a joke.
“The Oro Jackson,” Buggy commented, acting oblivious to your confusion. “Belongs to your dad?”
“Yeah…it did. He was a big fan of pirates.”
Buggy held in a wince at the past-tense. He forgot that you said something similar about the map. Belonged.
You continued explaining. “He wanted to become one, to see the world. He even had plans to join a crew, but that changed when my mom got pregnant.”
“Tch, what a sap.” Buggy’s remark collapsed into a mumble under the look you threw at him.
“Instead, he began collecting.” You gestured around the room. Aside from your supplies and artwork on the mahogany desk, the rest of the room was filled by your father. Pirate artifacts, nautical knick-knacks, and faraway souvenirs were displayed on nearly every shelf, shoved between similar themed books, with more items hidden inside the cabinets. Anything that didn’t fit on a horizontal surface was attached to the wall. “He couldn’t see the world firsthand, so he did the best he could.”
In your absence, Buggy had swept as much of the room as possible but didn’t find anything of high value. Nothing worth pocketing to sell later. Most of the Jolly Rogers and insignias on the artifacts weren’t from anyone special. There were framed maps on the walls, but they were generic land maps.
“What about you? Ever get tired of this place?” Buggy's question was spurred by the paintings littered across the desk. Most of them were of landscapes. Depictions of distant places filled with grand mountains, emerald forests, humid mangroves, murky swamps, and more.
“Mm-mmh, my dad watched from the sidelines so I could have the life I do. I can’t throw it away.”
You walked over to the shelves near the desk and reached for the second highest shelf. Sandwiched between two tomes was a red book that was just a tad too far. Even on tiptoes, you could only graze the linen edging and weren’t able to hook the spine and drag the book closer. Huffing out a breath, you tried and failed to conjure a few extra centimeters. You settled back on your heels and thought about climbing the shelves like you did when you were younger. And smaller. They wouldn’t hold you now, but maybe you could get enough of a boost.
While you were still considering that theory, a lone hand floated to the shelf to grab the red book. Underestimating the weight of the other books, the entire stack was pulled forwards and teetered on the edge. You threw up your hands, either to catch them or to keep them from falling on your head. Instead, you were yanked back so Buggy could step in and push the books back into place with a stubbed forearm.
Buggy let loose a dramatic sigh and recalled his hands to use them both to pull down the red book. He lazily dropped the book onto the desk, knocking loose a few paintbrushes. You bit your lip as the brushes clattered to the floor. It would have been nicer if he didn’t fuck around with your things, but he did just help you out. At least everything on the desk was dry.
“Thanks,” you said while flipping the book open. The paint brushes could wait.
“Of course, sweetheart. Good thing you had a big, strong man around.”
“I could have gotten it myself.” The muttered words were nearly lost in the breeze from fluttering pages as you thumbed through the book. Nearly.
“Say again?” Buggy said through his teeth, leaning down to invade your space.
You glanced at the pirate to assess the unsaid threat. He still maintained a forced smile, an expression you’ve seen often enough that you felt it signaled some level of safety. You started to turn away when Buggy slammed a fist on the desk hard enough to rattle the drawers and send more items to the wood floor. The only mask on his face now was the painted one. The ocean in his eyes was dark and stormy, the usual mischievous glint dimmed by a tempest.
“You think you could do this alone?” Buggy asked in a low voice. Rejection held him tight and whispered in his ear, saying he didn’t deserve to be treated like something useless.
A tremble stopped your response. The words fell apart as intimidation settled in your chest. He was still a stranger. A pirate. Maybe you would have been better off handling this yourself. Thoughts filled the darkness in your mind with momentary flashes like fireflies, but none stuck around. Blindly, you reached out and grabbed one.
“Yes, but no… I don’t-” You sighed. The thought you held was half-formed and unready to take flight.
“Whatever,” Buggy said dismissively. He played along with this ruse for too long and it wasn’t worth all the effort. Knocking on the desk with a gloved fist, he straightened up and tugged at the cuffs of his sleeves. “I think this show’s cancelled.”
Buggy turned to leave but a hand on his arm stopped him. You leaned over the desk to hold onto the only lifeline within reach. Fingers dug into the meat of his arm - you weren’t clinging to the fabric of his coat, but to him.
“I need help.” Yes - you could have gotten the book yourself. You could pull yourself out of this mess alone. But that doesn’t mean it would be easy. Shelves could snap and books could fall. You could fall. “I can do things on my own, but I don’t want to do this alone. Please, don’t go.”
The plea stopped the pirate’s escape. Buggy studied your face, contemplating his next steps and whether he should continue with this improv workshop. He liked hearing you beg him to stay, but that wasn’t enough. Pulling out of your hold, Buggy clapped his hands and licked his lips.
“Show me the map. Maybe I could be convinced to stay.”
Buggy chuckled as you gaped at him, desperation fading from your face. It wasn’t an unexpected request, but you still felt nervous. He was unpredictable.
As if he could read your thoughts, Buggy spoke up. “C’moooon, you can trust me. I could have done this all differently and had the map by now. I’m being nice, a team player.” His voice was anything but kind, but there was truth in his statement. In a twisted way, the truth felt like his way of being kind.
“Why? I’ll show you, but why are you doing this?” The question stung as you asked, but you would have succumbed to the poison if you held onto it.
Buggy shrugged. “I’m curious to see what happens. Plus, you could learn a thing or two from a real performer.” He flourished towards himself and winked. The compulsion Buggy felt must be curiosity. A passing interest.
You bit your lip and nodded, sure he wouldn’t elaborate further. It took some convincing, but you shooed Buggy out of the room and back into the kitchen. Showing him the map was one thing, but letting him see where it was kept was different. Once the door was closed, you traipsed around the room and opened a few drawers and cabinets at random. Shuffling papers and clunking books added to the distractions.
A few minutes later, you opened the door and invited Buggy back into the room. The parchment shook slightly as you held it aloft for him to observe. Both of you ignored the tremor. Buggy pinched the map between his pointer and thumb before dragging a finger along an unseen trail. You listened to the soft rasp of the glove against the old dry paper. The pirate was focused, intent on assessing the reward.
The color of his eyes shifted between blue and green as they traveled the map. Long eyelashes danced with the movement. A glint in his face paint caught your attention - the blue diamonds that stretched from the crossbones on his forehead down to his cheeks shimmered.
The paint wasn’t crisp. The edges were smudged and feathered. Not on his bulbous nose though, the appendage was a different shade of red and looked real. Like really real and not part of his clowny attire. He had a unique nose and while it did stand out, it didn’t detract. If anything, it enhanced his features positively, drawing your attention across his face. From his stubbled cleft chin, to the smile lines that were almost always present, the blue hair peeking from his bandana, and back to his eyes. Which were looking back at you.
“What’re you staring at?” Buggy snipped, anticipating you’d give the answer everyone else gives. Some cheap shot about his fucking nose. What he didn’t expect was you would simply say you were looking at him. “What about me? My no-”
“Your eyes,” you rushed to say, seeing the anger bubble up again. “The colors were changing in the light. I like- They’re pre-...You have nice eyes.” A warmth crept up your neck and tickled your cheeks. You felt self-conscious talking about his eyes while they were looking into yours. Nervous. As if you were about to fall into the depths of the ocean.
“Anyways, that’s enough with the map. I should put it away.”
Stepping back from the pirate, you rolled up the paper and hustled him back out of the room. When he moved too slowly, reluctant to part from the future treasure, you swatted him on the shoulder. Once you were alone in the room, you repeated the charade from earlier and put the map back in a different location. Then you took an extra moment to rub your cheeks, hoping to massage away the lingering heat. Finally exiting the room, you asked your companion if he was ready for lunch.
Buggy responded with a drawn-out groan and flapped his arms. “It’s about time, I thought I was going to die from starvation.”
The theatrics brought out a smile and you shook your head amusedly. “Alright honey, let’s get you some food. My treat.”
“Lucky me! Maybe this isn’t such a bad deal, getting wine and dine’d. Rum and yum. Beer and…cheer.” Buggy chattered like an excited toddler as he followed you through the house and back to the front door. He couldn’t see you roll your eyes, but he could hear the huffs of laughter with each quip he spouted.
It wasn’t until the door closed with a thud that Buggy thought back to the book you had been intent on retrieving. It seemed so important to you at the moment, only to be forgotten after it kicked off the first fight you two had a as a “couple.” Interested in knowing whether the book actually held any importance, Buggy asked what you were looking for.
“Oh, devil fruit! Your hands, right?” You held up your own and rotated your wrists, pleased at the impressed look on Buggy’s face. “That book referenced old diaries and there was an entry about devil fruit. It didn’t have a lot of information, but mentioned that they have weird side effects, like turning people into animals and stuff, or giving unusual powers. So I thought…”
You trailed off, realizing how quickly you had been speaking. Buggy was still walking next to you, with a strange expression on his face. It looked like pride. Not directed towards you, but himself.
“Ooh, so my sweetie is a book nerd. You’re smart. I ate the chop-chop fruit,” Buggy boasted. He stretched out his body, disconnecting numerous joints and sections before reassembling.
A revealing trick that was often met with unpleasant surprise and shock was met with excitement and interest this time. You grabbed Buggy’s arm and pulled back the cuff of his sleeve to look at his wrist. There were no marks and you couldn’t even feel anything odd.
Your touch was light and delicate. Unexpected, but not entirely uncomfortable. Buggy’s jaw tensed as he resisted the urge to pull away, wanting to soak in your admiration a little longer.

A/n: here’s the second half of Chapter 11! Enjoy! Here’s the link to Part 11 so you can follow along what happened previously!
Vash pulled you along his direction to show you other vendors. Vash looked much happier after you confronted those two jerks. He would occasionally ask or point out certain booths that might have caught your interest. Either way, all you cared about was him being his happy cheerful self. That was really all you needed and you were happy to see this side of him. It wasn’t until you spotted one booth that was selling some Pokémon items. Both of you ran so fast to the booth to check out the merchandise. The booth had the original cards, DVDs, plushies, key chains, decorations, and all kinds of items. Vash was already grabbing a few of the cards while you were looking at the plushies and keychains.
“Let me know if there’s anything you like. Just know my items have been selling out fast since this morning,” the seller called out as you were torn between a few items. You wanted one of the keychains, but you could only afford one more item without breaking the bank. You ended up buying your favorite Pokémon plushie and some decorations. Vash bought a few cards and a few other items you didn’t catch. Thankfully he let you pay and you got to take home one thing you’ve been wanting for awhile. You showed Vash what you bought as he showed you the cards he got.
You were nearing the end of exploring the market and felt yourself getting tired after all that walking. You walked a bit slower and tried to keep up with Vash. Thankfully you didn’t buy too many things and and were able to put some of the items you bought in your bag so you weren’t carrying too much. But Vash must have noticed as he turned back and looked at you with worry.
“Hey everything okay? Am I walking too fast Y/n?” Vash asked as you shook your head.
“No it’s fine, I’m just feeling a little tired. But I can still keep going,” you reassured him.
“I guess we did walk a lot huh? You ready to head back to the car?” he asked as you nodded.
“Yeah, I think I got everything I needed. Plus I think I’m getting a bit hungry. How about you?” you asked.
“Yeah I got the gifts I needed. Oh I know a good place we can eat at that’s nearby! They have the best sandwiches and pasta!” Vash commented as that sounded good to you.
“Lead the way!” you replied as Vash started heading back to the car. He walked a bit slower so you could keep up. You appreciated the gesture, but you could feel your legs getting heavier with each step. Trying to keep up with Vash was becoming a challenge. The blonde then stopped in front of you as you wondered why he stopped. He then bent down and looked back at you.
“Well come on now,” Vash spoke as you were caught off guard once you put two and two together.
“Vash you don’t have to!” you protested.
“No, you’re getting tired. Just let me do this. It’ll be easier for us to get to the car,” he reasoned. You were flustered that he was doing this for you, but he had a point. You don’t know much longer your legs could walk and each step was becoming a bit more heavier to take. You regretted not breaking in your shoes more. You swallowed your pride and wrapped your hands around his chest, while his hands reached underneath your legs. Once he steadied himself, Vash lifted you up and started walking. You never thought you’d see the day Vash would give you a piggyback until now.
You were grateful that Vash couldn’t see your face right now as your were a blushing mess. It didn’t help that other bystanders were looking at you and either smiling or pointing the both of you out. As much as you were against the idea at first, you were growing comfortable being held like this.
“You doing okay back there?” Vash asked as you were a bit startled from him talking.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Thanks again for this,” you told him.
“Of course! You just let me know if you need to adjust yourself. I’ll make sure you don’t fall. And tell me if you’re uncomfortable,” he added as he kept walking.
“No this is good. I’m comfortable,” you shyly admitted. You actually didn’t realize how muscular Vash was. You could practically feel his back muscles and his biceps when he held you. Whoever dates him is a lucky person. You comfortably hung onto Vash until he made it to the car. He let you down as he opened the car. Both of you put your stuff away in the trunk and sat down. You were beyond relieved that you could catch your breath for a bit and give your feet a rest. Vash drove you to an outdoor restaurant where there was one area that had hanging porch benches that faced the scenic view of the cities and had side tables where you could eat. In the other area was more of an outdoor bar with bigger tables to eat at. Vash let you chose where to dine and you picked the hanging benches.
Vash sat on the left side while you took the right side. You loved how your feet dangled in the air as you sat down. Not to mention you had an amazing view of the city and can see the marketplace from here. Vash went ahead and ordered the drinks and food you wanted while you made yourself comfortable.
“Are you still having fun?” Vash asked.
“Vash every time I hang out with you I’m always having fun. I’m never disappointed with anything you invite me to,” you replied as Vash chuckled.
“Okay good, I was worried we stayed too long at the market,” he admitted.
“No, that place was great! There’s so many things they offered. I felt like I was going to go broke at some point,” you laughed.
“But I appreciate you taking me there and carrying me back. You didn’t have to you know,” you added in as you took a sip of your drink.
“Listen Y/n, I invited you to come with me. Of course I’m going to make sure you’re okay. I don’t want you to have a lousy time because I made you walk while you were clearly in pain,” he explained.
“In my defense, I should have worn comfier shoes. But I appreciate the thought. You’re too kind you know that?” you told him with a smile.
“Of course! Just want to make sure you’re having a good time you know?” he replied as you couldn’t help but raise your glass to him.
“A toast to a great weekend?” you asked. He then raised his glass towards yours.
“Toast to a great weekend with great people,” he toasted and then took a few sips of his drink.
“Oh before I forget,” Vash chimed in. You saw him pull out his phone.
“I wanted to take a picture. I keep forgetting to do this when we hang out. Is that okay with you?” he asked as you didn’t mind one bit. You scooted closer to him and posed. Vash put his arm behind your back and did his iconic hand pose on your shoulder. You couldn’t help but smile at him as you posed. Once he took the picture, he showed you the photo and complimented how great you looked.
“Speaking of photos,” you mentioned as you took out your polaroid camera from your bag.
“Mind if I take a picture of us?” you asked as Vash gave you an excited yes. You positioned your camera as Vash wrapped his right arm around your right shoulder and rested his chin on your left shoulder. It took everything in you to stay calm and hold still with how close he was to you. You then took the picture and waited for the photo to finish develop. Once it finished, you noticed Vash did his pose with his prosthetic arm and flashed his iconic smile at the camera. You loved the photo and showed Vash as he liked it too.
You put away the photo and camera once the food arrived and started eating. As usual, Vash was right about the food being delicious. He let you try some of his food and it was packed full of flavor. Once you finished eating, you stared at the view as the sun was setting. You and Vash were slowly swinging the bench back and forth enjoying the comfortable silence.
“Today’s been nice yeah?” Vash asked as you kept staring at the sunset.
“Yeah, it’s always nice with you,” you commented as you felt yourself smiling after today.
“Even after finding out my nicknames?” he questioned as you turned towards him. Vash wasn’t looking at you, but then his blue eyes locked onto your e/c eyes.
“You know even after finding out that Wolfwood calls you Needle-noggin, I’m still here. Which you owe me an explanation on that name too by the way,” you replied as he chuckled.
“That’s another long story. But I feel you deserve to know more about how I got those other names,” he continued as you placed your hand on his shoulder.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Just know that I won’t judge, but rather listen,” you reassured him as a small smile crept on his face.
“Thanks, and I’m okay on talking about it with you,” he answered. Vash started off how everything started in middle school. He recently got his prosthetic arm at the time and was still trying to figure out how to use it. It was because of his arm that he was a bit clumsy and would accidentally cause messes when he was trying to help. Even more so, Vash would be late to things and would sometimes slip if he wasn’t too careful. That’s why those nicknames stuck with Vash until the end of high school. Vash then admitted how it wasn’t until he got his current prosthetic arm that he started developing better habits and was more careful about how he handled things.
“Wow, kids can be cruel sometimes,” you remarked as Vash nervously laughed.
“Hey now, don’t blame them. They didn’t know what it’s like to have a prosthetic,” he argued as you pouted.
“Yeah, but even so...if they just took the time to know you. I bet it would have been different.  Also, if someone called me the Stampede or Typhoon I would have said, ‘Yeah and what about it? That just makes me sound tough and cool,’“ you answered with a cool pose as Vash started laughing.
“Aw shucks Y/n, you’re too kind. Where were you when I was in middle school?” he commented.
“I would have asked you the same thing. You know, I bet we would have been great friends if we knew each other earlier. You practically liked the same things I did. And we were both trying to fit in,” you thought out loud as Vash stared at you fondly.
“What matters is, I’m glad we were able to meet and hang out like this. I appreciate you for listening and still accepting me as I am,” Vash spoke as he looked at the sunset again. You had to gather your thoughts and looked away for a bit. But it wasn’t until you noticed that Vash had his arm resting behind you on the bench. You were slightly flustered, but another part of you enjoyed this.
“I feel the same way. I haven’t been this comfortable with someone like this in a long time. If I didn’t take the daycare job, I wouldn’t have met you or gotten to know how kind, funny, and understanding you are Vash. You really brought me out of my shell, and I’m really grateful for you on helping me do that,” you told him as you continued facing the sun again. You couldn’t bear to look at him as you said this. It would have been to much for your heart to handle and you didn’t want to let him know exactly how he made you feel right now when you weren’t too sure if he felt the same. It was then you felt yourself being pulled to the left side with Vash’s arm holding your right shoulder. Your left leg was touching his right, while your left shoulder was touching his chest.
“Thank you, do you mind if we stay like this a little longer before we leave?” Vash asked as you felt his breath against your neck and ear. You were a blushing mess, but you managed to say yes. You wanted to savor this moment with Vash and this view.
~*~
Vash drove you back home once the restaurant was closing up. You were back in your apartment as he helped you bring some of your shopping bags inside. Once you placed everything down you went back to Vash as he was waiting by the door. You gave your usual goodbye hug and text message. But as you held on, you noticed Vash held onto you a bit longer before leaving. Your emotions were all over the place as you stayed up late thinking back about everything that happened earlier.
~*~
The day of the gift exchange happened right after you wished the kids goodbye for the holidays. The staff got together to hold a small party at the daycare courtesy of Wolfwood. You finally exchanged gifts with each other as Liz adored the gift you got her. Meanwhile Vash ended up getting you for the gift exchange. He handed you a gift bag and inside was the Pokémon keychain you wanted to get the other day. You were ecstatic to where you immediately attached the keychain to your lanyard that held your keys. You thanked Vash, but he asked to pull you aside in the employee lounge.
“Actually, that’s part one of my gift to you,” Vash said as you furrowed your eyes.
“There’s a part two?” you asked as he nodded.
“Yeah, it’s something I’ve been keeping for awhile. Uh but you gotta close your eyes for this,” he explained nervously. The poor man was fidgeting so bad that you complied with his request.
“Now hold your hands out and no peaking,” he instructed as you did what you were told. You then felt something light on your hands as you were trying to figure out what this item was. Once he told you to open your eyes, you saw a ticket to a music festival you’ve been wanting to attend for ages.
“Vash...is this? How did you get tickets for this? I heard they sold out in 30 minutes when they went on sale?!” you asked.
“So remember how I made you that playlist awhile back? Turns out most of the artists we listen to on that playlist are going to be in town for a music festival coming up in a few days. When you told me you liked them, I couldn’t help but get tickets. It wasn’t easy, but Wolfwood and a few others helped me get these. What I want to say is, will you go with me?” Vash asked.
A/n: hey hi! Next chapter coming very soon with a moment everyone is waiting for <3

Rye's Floating Bookshop - 3rd of Bloom
| Information | Calendar | Previous entry | Next entry |
It is a rough night, as the strong winds whistling outside make it hard to sleep, rocking the bookshop on choppy waves. My body aches after yesterday's work, and I have to force myself out of bed with the promise of a strong cup of tea. After a breakfast of herbal tea and clover oatcakes, I go to open the shop only to see the deck outside cluttered with blossoms that have been shaken loose from their trees by the wind. Even the gutters are full of them! With a sigh, I flip the sign by the door to "open" and go to fetch my broom to start clearing out the debris. It is a slow day, due to the strong winds buffeting anyone who leaves their cozy abodes to go about their errands, which allows me some time to slowly work on the outside of the bookshop.
A couple of hours after opening, an elderly wallaby enters the shop, glad to get out of the weather. I welcome her with a smile and am asked to help her with her bags as she browses the shelves. I help her find a book suiting her tastes, struggling under the weight of the bags and wondering how this old creature managed to walk around with so much. The wallaby leaves with a mystery book, The Scarlet Clock, and thanks me warmly for my time.
After managing to clear the gutters of the gathered blossoms, I allow myself a break at the counter up front with a cup of willowbark tea and a small plate of oatmeal cookies. It does well to ward off a bit of the chill from the windy weather outside. A few minutes into my break, I hear a yelp at the door and look up from my cup of tea. A young racoon has entered, nursing his tail that seems to have gotten pinched in the door. I quickly get up, putting my teacup down, and ask if the young man requires any aid. He waves me off with a "thank you, but all is well" and encourages me to go back to my break. I continue watching him as he wanders through the store—bumping into customers and shelves wherever he goes—and hope I will not have to spend too much time picking up after him. The mess he leaves—even though he tries to pick up after himself—is not as endearing as that of the schoolchildren from yesterday. There is a huge crash coming from the non-fiction shelves, and I rush over to find the young raccoon on the floor, with books cluttered around him. With a guilty look he explains that he saw a book he wanted on the top shelf, but as he couldn't reach it he decided it was better to climb the shelf than to ask for help! I bring over the stepstool that stands next to the shelves, bring down the book—The Art of Thinking: Exploring Philosophy and the Quest for Meaning—and hand it over to this clumsy customer. I have to push down any frustration and irritation that I feel towards the customer as I decline his offer to help with the cleanup, saying that I will take care of it. While he finishes his browsing I clean up and put the books back on the shelf. When he joins me at the counter he does so with another book—Exploring Existence: Navigating the Nuances of Modern Philosophy—and apologises profusely as he pays for his finds and leaves. I breathe out a sign of relief as he does so and congratulate myself for managing to keep my emotions in check, even though I could have handled it better.
While I stand outside, sweeping away the rest of the blossoms of the deck, a squirrel approaches me with a fake smile and a briefcase in hand. It seems this lady is not a customer at all, but is in fact trying to sell me something. They show me a collection of beautiful crystal decorations—masterfully crafted depictions of frolicking animalfolk—and try their best at selling them to me. I point out that my domicile is a floating home and is therefore affected quite heavily by the whims of the river. Any such items would inevitable fall off whatever shelf they would be stored on and therefore get smashed against the floor. I also tell them that they are a bit extravagant for my tastes, even though they are beautiful pieces. The squirrel salesman tries for a few more minutes to sell them to me, before I excuse myself by saying that I have customers inside who might need my help. She makes a sound of indignation, closes her briefcase, and leaves without saying goodbye. How rude!
As the evening and closing time approach the weather turns for the better—the winds calm down and warmth replaces the chill. I consider closing early to enjoy the sun now that my deck is clean, but seeing as how it is approaching the end of the workday anyway, I decide to simply sit out in the sun and enjoy it while waiting for any last customers to arrive. The fox kit from yesterday approaches me again, this time with some shyness. I welcome him with warmth, telling him how I am pleased to see him again, which makes him glow with joy. I ask his name, and he introduces himself as Darcy. He has come back with yet another question about my hometown, this time asking how it was to grow up there. I am more than happy to share my stories—even though I have to think to recall some of the details. I tell him of playing in the lower branches of the Undertree with my older siblings, running across the bridges between the houses built lower to the ground around its massive trunk. I smile a bit as I mention how angry our parents were with us when we came back covered in scratches after playing a bit too recklessly in the foliage around the base of the tree. Darcy listens with rapt attention, asking follow up questions occasionally. He laughs with me when I tell him—voice low and conspiratorial—of stealing pies that our mother had placed on the window sill of our home and running off to eat them at our favourite spot at a nearby creek, full of the kind of satisfaction only children get when doing something they shouldn't. I make sure to tell him to not get any ideas and to be a good kit, but I cannot help but smile at him as he claims that he would never do such a thing in a way that is clearly a lie. We speak for a little while before an older fox arrives, who introduces themselves as Darcy's parent. I shake their paw, giving them my name in return, and tell them that Darcy has been a joy when they apologise for their son taking up my time. As they leave, I thank Darcy for joining me and tell him that he is welcome to come back, if his parents allow it. I wave as they leave and head back into the shop to finish the day.
After the last few customers leave, I turn the sign at the door to "closed" and do any paperwork and cleaning up that is required. I think of Darcy and find myself hoping he will return, as the company of the young kit reminds me of my nieces in a way that brings warmth to my heart. I end the day out on the deck again, watching the sun set beneath the horizon, quite happy with how things are turning out so far.

December 24th, 1986
This is Christmas 1986, you watched your boyfriend Eddie die in the Upside Down 5 month ago now. You’ve lost the will to live ever since. Before being your boyfriend, Eddie was you childhood best friend. You’ve known each other forever and we’re always attached to the hip. But now, without him life doesn’t make sense.
You didn’t want to celebrate Christmas this year, but your dad insisted, so that’s how, you ended up in your parents basement, going through boxes to look for more Christmas decorations. You’re going through boxes that belonged to your grandparents, you rummage into them and I find a lot of old items. You don’t care about them as you’re searching for Christmas decorations. But one of those family heirlooms does catches your eyes. It is an old pocket watch. The pocket watch doesn’t even seem to work. You take it into your hands and wish you could turn back time. You wish you could save Eddie from his heartbreaking fate. You wish you could have him by your side this Christmas. You don’t care about the presents, all you want for Christmas is him.
Once you found the Christmas decorations you go back upstairs. Once you arrive, your dad sees the pocket watch in your hand. You put the Christmas decorations on the ground and hand the family heirloom to your dad. He take it from you and inspect it before saying.
“You found this in your grandparent’s boxes?” He asks
“Yes… I’m sorry if I shouldn’t have went through those boxes… I didn’t know at first…”
Your dad cuts you off and hand you the pocket watch. “Here, it is yours now. Your grandma used to tell me it was magical, but I honestly don’t think so. However, it was an important object for her, something her dad gave her, so please keep it safe and never sell it.” Your dad tells you.
“I won’t, I promise.” You answer him.
Later that night, you go to bed, you put the pocket watch on your nightstand and look at it.
“I don’t think you’re magical… I hope you were, honestly.” You tell the object because turning on your side. That night, you unusually fall asleep fast.
At first you think you’re in a nightmare, as all of
Your nightmares, you’re reliving what happened in the upside down, your experience your last moments with Eddie again. But this time, the outcome of this dream is a way better one. You and Dustin successfully put Eddie through the portal. Eddie is transported to what’s left of Hawkins hospitals, where you spend months by his bedside. When fall arrives, you bring Eddie back home. His name is cleared and he lives with you and your dad. You take care of him, his wounds. You go to appointments with him.
The next morning, when your alarm clock reads 7:00AM, you wake up gasping, not realizing that next to you, in your bed, lies Eddie Munson. Your gasp wake Eddie.
“Hey Sweetie… what’s happening?” Eddie asks.
You turn your head toward Eddie and hug him tight. “Eddie? What are you doing here?” You ask, your eyes tearful.
“What do you mean Sweetie?” Eddie asks confused. “Did you have another bad dream about the upside down?”
You nos, not wanting to tell Eddie what really happen, not wanting him to think you’re crazy. You gratefully look at the pocket watch on the bedside table.
This was the best Christmas gift you could have hoped for. Having the love of your life by your side again.
