So my buddy’s got a tuff Ford Mustang, and yet we always end up taking MY CAR.
I’m just glad it’s a 90s Mustang, so I can just be a normal amount of jealous. If it was a 60s Mustang I’d be foaming at the mouth I think
He’s a Soc frfr
nah I’m kidding he’s absolutely not. (Ironically, he kinda reminds me ofJohnny Cade personality-wise tbh) He’s also thinking of replacing the Mustang w/ a boring normal car because, as he says, “It’s sort of irresponsible for me, a high schooler, to own a Mustang, y’know?”
I do not know. If I had a MUSTANG I would absolutely NOT replace it with a STATION WAGON. But I’m the impulsive one in our dynamic i guess- we’re a whole lot like Cameron and Ferris Bueller lol
(also do you know how hard it is to impress girls when your car is covered in scratches, has mismatched side mirrors, and is extremely boring looking?? So hard. I mentioned this to him once and it went like:
me: hey c’mon we’ll impress so many girls with my face and your convertible- you gotta let us use it this time please
him: dude I’m gay
me: oh. right
So that was unsuccessful 😔)
#cars#my art#self portrait#rambling#personal stuff#why’s the one guy I know with a cool car gotta be so ✨responsible and safe✨???#jk jk I know it’s for the best. He’s down to earth and I guess that’s a good way to be…but dammit I wanna drive that car#cas’s newsprints#ford mustang#comic

If you can not forgive you are destined to never heal.
Like, sorry, you can not be mad at someone for making a mistake and then be angry about it for 3 years and be like "why am i not over this".
#friend of a friend died two years ago driving under the influence of some injection. ran a red in the dark and wraped her car around a pole#friend came to me last night while i was mid break down and explained his breakdown.#he apparently introduced her to the drug and she got more on her own#got addicted and was sent to rehab. my friend self admitted to keep her alive.#they worked together on steps to get off hard drugs.#one of the rules is that you can never ever drive if you happen to be on them. not even like one puff of weed or half a Mike's hard.#she got more of the drug when she got home after about a month. some jackass who lived across the street.#needle was dirty and it felt itchy. told my friend about it. he said that she should go to the hospital.#so she got in her car and drove it. without her lights on#friend said she broke a rule and did it on purpose (she didn't. she was just high and panicked.)#said he'd never forgive her for taking his best friend away in such a betrayal. led my friend back to drugs.#said that every year her memory still forces him into agony and he feels he needs something stronger to dull the pain of his heartbreak.#i told him to take double his usual dose of melatonin and a drink of whiskey. came back to me this morning and said that i was right.#he still said he'd never forgive her though. told him about something else I'm going through and asked ''is that what you want?#agony every time someone mentioned her name or at the very least once a year?''#he's saying he's pondering on that.#meanwhile work's going on and I'm under 200 mgs of caffeine already and 3 hours of sleep while having 10 more hours to go.#happy thursday

one thing that i think matters a lot in terms of why execs don’t wanna put effort into public transit over cars (beyond money etc) is that it’s a whole lot easier to just stuff a town full of locations and roads and expect everyone to go where they need. for public transit you have to anticipate and plan out where people will need to be most often and how to reasonably get them there
this is not a justification or saying we shouldn’t do it but like i think it makes a significant difference in why people don’t want to even start—it’s just harder, especially in places already built mostly, if not entirely, for cars
#x#public transit#public transport#it’s worth the work and time but try telling them that#it’s also a self fulfilling property because like people have said before:#the reason everything is too far to walk is to make room for the cars. it’s not walkable because we need space for cars#and not being walkable means you have to drive#which means you need space for cars#one thing that’s crazy to me is malls are dying still but like? that’s the best place to start for this#malls are full of stores and are walkable!!#move things in there so you can rearrange the streets and shit to better accommodate people and transit#we don’t need 6000 businesses in separate buildings along the worst stretch of pseudo highway you’ve ever seen

Trivia - Minority Report was first optioned in 1992 as a sequel to another Philip K. Dick adaptation, Total Recall (1990), with Arnold Schwarzenegger set to reprise his role as Doug Quaid. But after the Total Recall production company filed for bankruptcy, the project was reworked into a stand-alone project and started its development in 1997, after a script by Jon Cohen reached Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise (Wikipedia).
Colin Farrell starred in both Minority Report and Total Recall (remake).
Minority Report predicted multiple future innovations, including facial recognition, personalised advertising and predictive crime fighting.
Total Recall showcased self-driving cars. Google is now making cars that can drive themselves without human intervention (I saw a preview in Google HQ in Dublin).
In 2010, the Transportation Security Administration installed total-body scanners in many U.S. airports to reveal any concealed weapons on a passenger’s body.
Also video calls (Zoom) and hologram (digital) instructors are now a reality.

#thats me in the corner. thats me in thr spotlight. rocking from side to side and not contributing to the conversation#which is to say. i made it to thr lab get together with an old lab mate. i really truely did not think i would#i was like 20min late bc of the crying and hyperventilating over a 6min drive down the road#i sorta freaked out while driving too. and almost turned around. its just that i kno i havent been sleeping enough and got overwhelmed#but i made it there. and i dont think i looked like id been crying but i probably looked a bit blank faced and miserable#as i rocked from side to side for like 2hrs listening to ppl talk. i enjoyed it exactly as much as i expected. it was good to see the guy#again but i just dont connect in group gatherings idk. im glad its done. also fucking we were sitting there and a group comes in and whos#in that group?? someone i have avoided seeing for like a loooong time. the guy who tried to be in a relationship with me back when i 1st#started as a grad student. i say relationship. i was explaining to him why i couldnt do any sort of romantic e tanglement and he was very#firm abt not wanting a relationship. and im like bro im explaining u why no romanticly adjacent thing is gonna work. u literally asked me#to physically hold ur hand thru this. u r somehow more emotionally invested in this than me and also are telling me that u just wanna fuck#me. so like u r not slick. whatever. it was so fucking stressful at the time. which i feel bad abt bc it wasn't really his fault#i was just less self aware so i didnt kno i have bad awareness in the moment. like i dont kno a lines been crossed until a week later when#im laying on thr floor falling apart. so like i wish him the best. didnt kno he was still around. hopefully this doesnt trigger stress#dreams. all this to say i was very fucking tense. and when i got back in my car i was like shaky and panting lol#idk looking back its just such a weird situation with that dude. if i was anyone else it woudlnt have been a big deal but#my brain just doesn't process physical touch right. so now ive got these horrible touch memories that like on paper r literally nothing#but for me they were so unfathomablly awful when i 1st aquired them. i literally could not deal with any romantic stuff for like a month#bc it would like trigger me. now thst its been like 3 years its not bad tho. just like gives me thr ick but i dont get#stuck in the memories too much. its so dumb. whatever. point is im all sore now from sitting all tense haha#unrelated

going through answered asks from when i was 18 wanting to hold myself so tightly
#i’ve never cared for the whole i wish i could see my younger self thing#because from where i was standing it was always still bad so thought why would i want to see them now#things are going to become very hard again very soon but last year was the best year of my entire life#i did something terrifying and then i claimed my life as my own#and a year later i have a car! and im driving! you can’t understand how impossible of a thought this was to me before#i live on my own and i’ve decorated my body and my bedroom and i can buy things i never thought id be able to own#i miss connecting with others my dash is a total wasteland now but i just#seriously cannot believe where i am right now. even though some things are still so screwed up and more screwed things are on the way#and i’m terrified of course. january is the perfect month to feel like ending it all. too much unknown#but still 2023 felt like magic i didn’t deserve and yet i basked in it#i’m not incredibly successful i’m not very interesting but im still so proud of myself somehow. even though i hate myself#it’s not as much as i used to. i appreciate myself more now and i can see how i needed me to get here. and im grateful for me#and for everything i have. i’m just speechless i can’t believe the life i currently have#i’m waiting to enter the era of travelling and intimate get together those areas are still slow coming#but if i could do this i can only hope and hope and squeeze my eyes tight to make them appear someday#i miss so many things but i don’t miss the old me. she sucked but she also cared and she’s still here in fragments#it’s strange to write this way i’ve never felt this sort of compassion before i was so so deeply depressed#it was inescapable and for good reason i don’t know how i made it through anything i’ve endured#i have to thank myself for always being too scared to die
