“The Bones“ is a comical opera by an Irish symphonic rock band Qazzy Coasts that narrates a story of Creedence Stratford, an avid British businessman. The events of the opera take place in 1846, around Frowertown, Kent. Stratford with Whitney Wordsworth, his best friend and a clever charlatan, fake dinosaur bones in order to allegedly “find” them in the area of the freshly bought territory of the factory. They deliberately make this find public, in order to earn money and become famous, as well as to crush the competitors. Two swindlers sell the bones at the auction for a huge price to a Spanish collector and businessman Augusto “Sonny” Velasquez. After a while, he calls a well-known archaeologist Daniel Sarno who was recommended to him by his fellow Christopher Ronald Jenkins, a journalist and writer, to verify the authenticity of the bones. When Sarno finds a small blot on the skull, he makes sure that the bones are fake. The trio that is in the same house, unites in order to uncover the conspiracy and punish a greedy businessman. Jenkins believes that this will be a sensation in local newspapers. Suddenly, Stratford goes on “vacation”, while Whitney feasts in the restaurant in Maidstone. Christopher and Augusto break in and force the charlatan to expose his friend and reveal the whole plan. Gradually, the opera accelerates and turns into a real slapstick, going to the stage of absurdity in the finale. The usual story of dishonesty transforms into an urban madness which shocks the whole Kent. In the denouement Stratford goes to jail, and the trio celebrate the victory in a pub.

17th August M.S.G. true support
John had a somewhat concerned telephone call from Emma, Bob Sawyer’s daughter, telling him hat Bob hadn’t had any social intercourse of late and was going noticeably downhill. So, John, doing what he does best got hold of Richard, one of our verbose members and organised a day out to include picking Bob up from his home in Tonbridge and finding a nice hostelry for a decent bite and some decent conversation. Cometh the day and yesterday, John duly picked up Richard and his power chair soon after 10.30 and off they set for Tonbridge. Bob had been repeatedly forewarned that John was coming over to take him out and was told to dress, smart casual. Bob was already coming out of his front door and putting his jacket on, as the support group arrived and they thought somewhat erroneously that he was just pooping over the road for a quick one.
John, being John, had done his homework and had searched the locality for a decent hostelry which wouldn’t mind the odd strange person or two and had decided on The Little Brown Jug in Chiddingstone Causeway and off we set. Following the course of the Medway we were almost in Surrey when at last we were there and after off loading and finding the disabled entrance and toilet we were escorted to a nice table and ordered our drinks. The restaurant is locally famous for it’s fish and chips, so we duly ordered the same.
It’s caught by one or two trawlers especially for the restaurant and can be recommended but don’t opt for the large version and so after a brief adjournment to replenish the glasses an attempt to decipher the menu occurred and a strange concoction of vanilla ice cream, black coffee and a liqueur of choice was selected. Affogato Al Caffe.
Two Cointreau’s and one Baileys were chosen. So after some reflected conversation about Bob’s current situation and what was going on at the MSG and other reminisces the meal came to an end. Bob still couldn’t work out how just one inlet push rod on a Perkins V8 could come to be bent though. We made our way back to Nelson Avenue to drop Bob off. He was most grateful for John’s efforts and thanked him profusely for a wonderful time.
On reflection, Bob seemed very lucid but did forget his lines when we went over the same ground again but didn’t appear to be any worse than normal. He did mention that he sometimes frequents the Nelson public house immediately opposite his house and sometimes gets lost on his way home. The landlady escorts him home, just over the road, now.
So all in all a great day out and proper stroke group support, so if you ever wondered just what the Maidstone Stroke Group actually does, now you know and it’s not just raffle, bingo and outings
Excellent work John and well thought out

Fashion statement is very important and when it is shown blatantly during a wedding it is even more powerful. Nowadays the trends keep changing when it comes to wedding dresses. Designers are more adventurous and brides have also demanded that the styles be stretched a little to ensure that they look awesome. It is unlike the olden days when brides would only wear plain and meringue styles for wedding gowns. With a unique and exquisite dress the bride can stand out from other brides. Modern wedding dresses are varied to suit different brides and so it is a spoilt for choice situation. Anjuna elicits a mixed response, people either crave to get there or ensure they keep well away. But looking beyond the psychedelic scene red homecoming dresses, Anjuna is a picture perfect idyll — the archetypical tropical beach of soft sands, coconut palms, cool drinks and calm seas. Sadly, it does not have accommodation to match. Which is why, except for a few grungy looking oddballs, not many people choose to stay around Anjuna. The few guesthouses and hotels in the village try hard but don't really have much to recommend them. Another popular mobile home renovation has a lot more to do with the beyond a home than it does with the within. Strategy in advance and don't undervalue the substantial time financial investment that house remodellings demand. Prepare a clear schedule of works and make certain all contractors are lined up to the schedule and timeframes set out. Where to find The Scout Guide
Our print guides aren’t your typical summer publication. These babies are free books (not magazines) that come out once a year. They’re meant to be kept and displayed. A souvenir, a resource to revisit, and a beautiful little companion. Every business you see in the guide was scouted out by us because they represent the best of local in our community and we want you to truly discover them. We listened to their stories and worked alongside them, we took their photos, and designed each and every spread in the book with them so that you can discover the essence of who they are. We also filled the book with local art, and a foldout map of nature walks, beaches and other local treasures. This book will help locals discover places that they might have been passing right by, and will help visitors have an authentic experience whenever they’re in town.
These books are proudly displayed indoors at the following locations, all of which we feel represent the best of our community. If you’d like to carry the books at your place of business, please email me at [email protected] for more information
