The Best Food in Clarke Quay Singapore
In this bustling riverside area, you’ll find all manner of interesting restaurants for a night out. From swanky steakhouses to vibrant bars, Clarke Quay has something for every kind of foodie.
There’s also a good range of wallet-friendly options, including modern kopitiams and hearty Asian eateries. Wings Bar, for instance, takes its name from the American air force squadron it traces its roots to and serves up deliciously crunchy wings (S$15).
You can also head down to Tsujiri, an authentic teahouse that specialises in matcha from Uji, Kyoto. It’s a must-visit for green tea lovers, who can indulge in a variety of matcha-based sweets. We recommend the creamy chiffon parfait in O-Matcha, which is packed with aromatic matcha ice-cream, chiffon cake and cornflakes.
If you’re a fan of Mexican cuisine, you can say “buenos dias” to Sanchos, an up-and-coming Clarke Quay restaurant. Order the barbacoa tacos, which feature shredded duck confit and guacamole wrapped in warm blue corn tortillas. To wash it all down, sip on a margarita at Chorong Pocha.
Alternatively, swing by Red House Seafood for a crab feast. One of Singapore’s oldest seafood restaurants, this Clarke Quay spot dishes up tried-and-tested Chinese classics like the Red House Chilli Crab alongside newer recipes. Fresh imports such as the Chilled Scotland Brown Crab and Steamed Australian Lobster Sashimi with Minced Garlic make the cut too. If you want to take things up a notch, the restaurant has a six-course seafood set menu available till 31 January 2021.

Clarke Quay's rich history.
This area is named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Singapore's second governor. It was initially used as a port for trading ships, loading and unloading goods such as spices, wood, and timber. As trade flourished, Clarke Quay built many warehouses to store the goods.  It underwent another transformation in the late 19th century when it became an important transportation hub along the Singapore riverside. The location was ideal for barges transporting passengers and cargo upriver to outlying areas. The shoreline was lined with godowns (warehouses) which housed various businesses such as sawmills, flour mills, and even opium factories.  By then, Clarke Quay had become an integral part of life in colonial Singapore.

Travel Singapore hassle-free with the Same Day Change Policy of United Airlines
Tumblr media
Being a travel blogger, I often travel with different brands. Before my trip to Singapore, I had an urgent emergency that I had to change my travel dates. I was worried if I could cancel or change my flights last moment. My friend Lisa told me about the flexible same-day change policy of United Airlines Reservations. I was so relieved as I could not travel that day. I could make changes to my United Airlines flight and get the reservations done for the next day.
I called on the United Airlines Same Day Flight Changes Number to change my flight. I was able to make changes to my flight without any additional fee. I just had to pay the difference in fare that was applicable for my new booking. I am delighted by the policies of United Airlines and the service they provide through the website and the phone number.
