Oh to make out with omi omi like it’s so messy and hot and surprisingly he love it too. Maybe one day u are having drinks and things get heated. OMGGG a roommate au fuckkkkk my mind goes burrrrrrrrrr
NO FRR needy omi makes me go brrrr
I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT WRITTING THIS SOONER
WARNINGS: 17+, BONER ALERT!!, drinking
Friday nights with your roomate weren't unusual. The two of you often going to the fanciest bars in Tokyo with the best views. You'll have to thank the Volleyball Association for his hefty paycheck. The two of you didn't get to see each other often between you pursuing your master's degree, Kiyoomi traveling and his tough practice schedules. The most interaction you guys have had in the pass month was passing him in the hallways. Him always being half dead and you... well you weren't in the best shape as well.
So you decided that the last friday of the month was Omi and Y/N time. While you wanted to spend this time showing him how greatful you are he took you in, omi had the idea of going to "better" establishments. By better he means 3 star michelin restaurants... the ones you can't afford.
Yes, it was nice to see that his name allowed the two of you to experience these beautiful places, but as of lately these seemed more like dates rather than two roommates catching up. Not that your opposed to a date with Omi. Have you seen his body? But he's seen you at your worse. Crying to him at the bar in Ongiri Miya about how your getting evicted from your apartment and how your behind on loan payments. He's seen you sick and begging for him to get you toilet paper. If anything he probably takes you to these places to be his wing woman.
One too many drinks later, and the two of your are stumbling out of the restaurant to his luxurious car. Kiyoomi was much better at hiding his drunkenness than you where. The street lamps were just dim enough to hide the pink dusting his cheeks.
All of your weight pressed into his side while he attempted to keep you upright. "Y/N you need to work with me," the taller man grunts before decides to lift you up over his shoulder. "we need to go home," he breaths into the chill night air.
"whoa, big boy take me on a date first," you giggle into his back. Hitting one of his butt cheeks with the palm of your hand.
You're flipped back upright once you reach his car. He opens the back door and tosses you in. It takes a moment for your brain to register that he got in next to you. "why aren't you driving?" you question, laying your head on his shoulder.
"I'm drunk...gonna wait till I sober up a bit," he states closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Always so responsible. "Also we live together, and that was a date, so I wouldn't be in the wrong," he says sternly looking down at you.
Popping your head up you look at him with furrowed brows. "what do you mean that was a date?"
"Was it not?" He questions, more so to himself than to you. While Kiyoomi is lost in his own thoughts yours run wilding thinking of all the times the two of you have gone out like this. He never said any of these were dates...
You watch as Kiyoomi's adam's apple bobs in his throat. If his face wasn't flushed enough it's clear now. His ears bright red as he stutters out his next words. "d-did you not want this to be a date?"
Did he really think these were all dates? You attempt to look at him in the eyes, yet his fail to meet yours. His head remains looking at the window leaving you with only the view of his red ear. Memories flood your mind in attempt to find the word date leave his mouth during any of your plans. Yet all you can remember are the times Kiyoomi was left stressed he wouldn't have time to shower and change, how he spent an abnormally long time on his hair, or how he always would sneak his card to the waiter so he paid for your meal.
"Hey, look at me," you whisper, lightly moving his chin to face you. His pupils widen over his already dark eyes making them look like perfect tapioca pearls. "we're these all dates?" did you want these to all be dates? Kiyoomi nods his head slowly, and you drop your hand from his face. Unwanted touch was not the man's specialty, yet his hand drops to yours. Placing it back on his cheek, as he looks into your eyes.
"I didn't know how to ask you, and I definitely drank to much tonight," his face flushes more as he rubs your hand softly. "Miya told me to ask you tonight, but i was.."
"Kiyoomi you can say you were nervous," you whisper in the dark car inches from his face.
"never," he smirks. That's something you can tease him about tomorrow. You want nothing more then to kiss the stupidly handsome man. "didn't think you'd like me.. you know with my habits," he states barely loud enough to hear.
"how can I not, at least i know you don't have shit stains," you giggle, leaning closer, noses almost touching. He giggles with you, a sound you don't get to hear often. The deep breath he takes is almost enough of a distraction for you to miss the way his eyes flicker down to your lips.
"Kiyoomi"
"huh" he responds on autopilot.
"do you wanna kiss me?" you ask, eyes widening like that of a doe.
"may I?" the gentleman in him asks. Not even a second later your leaning completely into him. Leaving a soft kiss on his lips. His eyes remain shut after you seperate. Your nose still touching his, a small smile escapes as you lean in to kiss him longer. His hand comes to rest on your neck to push you futher into him. You may have broken Kiyoomi.
He bites your lower lip as his hand leaves your neck to wrap around your body while his other hand grabs your thigh to help situate you on his lap. Both of your hands hold his face as you deepen the kiss. You can't help, but strattle him while your tongues explore each others mouths. It's mess and sloppy as saliva drips from the corner of your mouth. His large palms move under your dress to kneed your ass. Your not even sure this is your Kiyoomi with the way his hand slaps, strach that, spikes your ass. Kneading the flesh before repeating the action. Your left unbuttoning his shirt as he begins to trail kisses down your neck. His hands go to waist to push your heat to his hard on.
They were right, it's always the quiet ones.
Your hands tangle in his hair as your left grinding onto him. At this point your dress is bunched up around your waist, allowing Kiyoomi's hands to play with the string of your thong.
Kiyoomi's deep breaths lead you on as you kiss down his neck. "y/n, y/n, not here," he breathlessly rasps. He hears your whine as you grind a little harder into him. He laughs before bringing your face to look at him. His hairs a mess, shirt halfway unbottoned, and his breathless. What god do you have to thank for this sight.

RFA Members After You've Been Cheated On
-Zen: Flips his lid. The worst to deal with actually because upon hearing the news he wants to go to your ex's place and fist fight them, because how dare they do that to you? Sorry to the Zen fans, but before receiving any real comfort you're going to have to calm him down before he choke slams the cheating ex. That being said, once "the beast" is back in its cage, he actually is very easy to be around during such a heartbreaking time. He buys/brings you food, offers for you to come over and star gaze with him, and talks shit about your ex with you when you want but doesn't bring them up without you doing so first.
-Yoosung: Cries with/for you. Like actually. Imagine tons of 'how could someone do that?' and 'you deserve better, MC, I can't believe (your ex partner) would do that to you!' and 'i'm so sorry, MC, what can I do to make you feel better?'. Very doting to the point of being overbearing. He's trying to stream with you to keep you occupied, reaching out a couple times to make sure you've eaten and are doing ok, and so on. And no, he totally doesn't stalk your ex on social media and glare at their pictures...
-Jaehee: Upset when she hears it's happened, but unsurprised. Jaehee has a knack for judging character and figured that your partner was off from the start, but didn't mention it since she had no evidence and wanted to support you/your relationship if it made you happy. Probably the best out of all of them at handling this. Lets you talk about it if you want to but doesn't push you. Supports you and gives you some advice, then offers for you to come to her place to drink hot chocolate/tea/coffee and eat your favorite meal. If you come over, she'll play board games or watch movies to distract you from what's going on- or just listens if you need to cry/vent. -Jumin: Jumin has a passionate hatred for cheaters, mostly caused by his father's many failed marriages where a lot of his father's wives would cheat. So when he hears that your partner has cheated on you, he's upset for you. Like uncharacteristically angry. If you want your partner fired from your job/evicted/literally any other terrible thing that could happen to them, he'll make it happen if you ask. At the same time he'll leave them alone if not, though he strongly encourages you to dump your partner and never speak to them again. He buys you a ridiculous amount of shit in response (need a new place because you're moving out of your partner's? he buys you a penthouse) to try to make you feel better and takes you out to eat at nice restaurants to keep you distracted, but doesn't offer much real verbal comfort.
-Seven: Heartbroken when he hears the news and feels like a terrible person for being slightly relieved that it's over. He never liked your partner but he also doesn't want to wish ill on your relationships... Still, when you call him with the news, he struggles with his reaction. He's not used to being put on the spot with serious news and has no idea how to respond, so what comes out is "oh, really? that sucks". And the moment the words leave his mouth, he wants to shove them back in, but he can't. So, instead, he apologizes, and as you heal from the betrayal, he's sure to constantly text/call you to keep you company.

Clegan Modern Neighbors! AU
This will be a multi-chapter buck x bucky modern AU and they're neighbors! I'm excited and also nervous for this one, but eager to share. I have it all mapped out, but figured I'd get the introduction out there to see if there is any interest.
Title: The Boy Next Door
Introduction –
The unit next to Bucky’s own in the quaint lakeside apartment building near the marina in Manitowoc has been vacant since the red eviction notice was hung on the door back in May. Now, only days away from August beginning Bucky notices a change for the first time in weeks.
He exits the elevator upon his return from the marina, sweat soaked and sunburnt from working in the hot summer sun all morning. As he walks past the vacant 6B, he notices that the door is ajar. His footsteps halt out of curiosity, but as he’s about to give a gentle knock, the door swings open and he smiles as he’s greeted by Robert Rosenthal exiting the unit.
“Rosie, my favorite landlord!” Bucky moves to close the space between them to go in for his typical enthusiastic full body handshake but is swatted with the clipboard in his friend’s hand before he can make contact.
“Keep your sweaty paws to yourself Egan,” Rosie grumbles, but still smiles and nods in lieu of Bucky’s preferred physical greeting.
Bucky throws him an exaggerated pout but backs off with his hands raised placatingly. Rosie and he have known each other since their days playing high school baseball and while Bucky loves to push his buttons, he can acknowledge that he’s a little more than ripe at the moment.
“So, what brings you up to my floor? I haven’t seen you around much since that yahoo finally moved outta here.”
Bucky had been more than happy to see his last neighbor go. Bucky had lived in this building, in 6A, since he returned from college six years ago and he was proud of the work and care he’d put into it to make it a home. Other than his ma’s house, no place was more comfortable to him than the little nook he’d carved out for himself in this building.
He'd gone through many neighbors over the years. It’s a small place, typically attracting young couples on their way to saving to buy their first home. Most of his experiences had been positive. He’s a friendly guy and he always wants to make new friends, so the forced proximity of sharing this corner of the hallway with 6B inevitably leads to some meetups.
The first neighbor Bucky had had was a man, a couple years his junior, by the name of Curt Biddick. He’d moved in to get a break away from his parents, who he had since learned came from old money, and a lot of it. He and Bucky had become fast friends, a shared love of food, alcohol and sports had led to many an evening in each other’s spaces.
Once Curt had finished his culinary classes at the technical school downtown, he’d reconnected with his family and eventually moved out to a large house right on the water. Bucky spends almost every weekend over there lazing about the beach and the pool and utilizing all of Curt’s waterfront toys.
When Curt isn’t helping his father run the two restaurants he owns, he’s collaborating with Bucky on his podcast, and Bucky couldn’t be more grateful to Rosie that he’d leased 6B to someone who grew to be one of his closest friends.
While his first ever neighbor turned out to be a blessing, his last one was a curse. A man in his mid-thirties had moved in at the beginning of the year and at first, he’d seemed decent. He had no interest in small talk, but he wasn’t rude about it. The most Bucky got from him was a head nod and an occasional, “hello.” Which was fine. Bucky was aware that despite his roguish good looks and his undeniable charm, not everyone wanted to be his best friend.
But after a month had gone by, he noticed that the guy from 6B was no longer a loner. The door opened at all hours of the day and night and Bucky noticed an endless string of visitors. Some around his age, some significantly older, some men and some women. The loud music started soon after the visitors, followed by constant shouting and what sounded like a not insignificant amount of potential property damage. The smell of cigarette smoke creeped into the hallway constantly, and despite indulging in the habit himself on occasion, it bothered Bucky endlessly that Rosie’s pride and joy was being treated like a bar.
He’d tried to speak with his neighbor about the disturbance one time, but when he’d answered the door, it was clear that something chemical had taken 6Bs ability to even stand up straight. He’d been angry the moment he’d opened the door and noticed it was Bucky and not one of his usual visitors. Bucky had made it back into his apartment with a crumpled shirt and a clenched fist, proud of himself that his famous temper was still controllable when he really wanted it to be.
His little slice of comfort he’d created for himself in this building was slowly becoming a burden and he spent more nights sleeping in one of the many spare bedrooms at Curt’s place than in his own apartment.
Only after Curt offered him a permanent relocation, “You know I got plenty a’ space to spare Bucky,” did he finally gather his wits and speak to Rosie.
While Bucky had been away at college studying Sports Broadcasting, Rosie had apprenticed with his father who owned several residential properties in Manitowoc, including this one. He completed some maintenance and management courses at the same technical school Curt ended up attending and eventually was given ownership of this property. Bucky had rented from him during his first month of ownership and the improvements that Rosie made hadn’t stopped since. He put his trust in his landlord and friend, shared his concerns about his neighbor and after a couple weeks of police reports and confrontations that improved Rosie’s already impeccable reputation in Bucky’s eyes, an eviction notice was slapped on 6B.
Thankfully Bucky never saw him again after that, and other than the very occasional disheveled visitor that somehow makes it passed the digital locks into the building to knock on the door to the empty apartment, Bucky has had his little slice of paradise back.
Taking in the clipboard in Rosie’s hand and only just now noticing the smell of fresh paint permeating through the door, Bucky hopes that still stays true.
Rosie heaves a sigh, “I had some contractors come in early this morning to put a fresh coat of paint in the unit. The cigarette smell really lingers and it’s made it tough to rent.”
“I’ll bet,” Bucky grimaces. “Think the paint will do the trick for ya?”
Rosie shrugs with a smile, “Doesn’t much matter actually seeing as I rented it two days ago, even with that stench.”
Bucky blinks in surprise and scoffs, “Let me guess, they wanted lower rent and a fresh paint job to sweeten the deal?”
Rosie laughs and shakes his head, “That’s honestly what I expected, and I probably would’ve gone for it at this point. But no, not at all. This guy just looked around and said it was fine. He even asked if he was allowed to paint the walls or if it was against the lease agreement.”
“That right?” Bucky was skeptical, but he had already decided to be very picky about who got to be his neighbor from now on.
“Yeah, man,” Rosie continued. “I was standing right next to him, and the smell was bothering me so it had to bother him too. But he just asked if he could paint. I’m sure he figured it would help with the smell and didn’t want to push.”
“But why wouldn’t he want to push?” Bucky questioned the odd behavior. “I wouldn’t want to pay my hard-earned money for a place that smelled like a bar, no offense, and I definitely wouldn’t spend my hard earned money to also offer to fix it.”
Rosie laughed but nodded too. “Yeah, Bucky I know. But that’s honestly one of the reasons I rented it to him so quick. I think he’s just a genuinely good dude. He’d already passed the rental background check with flying colors, and he seemed a little desperate to get into somewhere near here. I didn’t want to lose the business.”
Bucky nodded along but still had his doubts. “You say he seems like a ‘genuinely good dude’? Well, I say he sounds gullible as hell and a little naive.”
Rosie puts one hand on his hip and waves his clipboard at him with the other. “Alright Bucky, that’s enough of that.” He scolds. “I know your last experience with a new neighbor was worse than bad and I sympathize with that, especially considering I rented the unit to the guy.”
Bucky immediately moves to defend Rosie. Despite the truth of his words, Bucky doesn’t have any ill will towards the other man, only gratitude for how quickly he righted the situation.
“I’m not done yet,” Rosie cuts him off with another swing of his clipboard. “But this new guy is not like that. I’m willing to bet my reputation that this one is going to work out for both of us. I’ve only met him in person once, but I can already tell you’re going to like him.”
Bucky trusts Rosie, he really does but he’s going to go into this new situation with both eyes wide open. The last occupant of 6B seemed perfectly normal at first too, so Bucky is not just going to take Rosie’s word for it.
“Alright, I’ll keep an open mind,” Bucky relents a little, letting Rosie lower his clipboard. “But then why’d you have the apartment painted if the guy agreed to take it as is?”
Rosie rubs the back of his neck and shrugs, “I felt bad renting it to someone like him without at least trying to improve it a bit. Plus, I take pride in this place, and it’ll help me sleep at night.”
“Someone like him?”
Rosie looks a little flustered, “He’s like, really nice Bucky. Kind, you know?”
Bucky narrows his eyes, “Would you have painted it for someone like me Rosie?”
Rosie laughs and pats him on the shoulder, pulling his hand away with a grimace when it comes away wet and Bucky laughs in return. “Course I would Bucky.”
“You’re good people Rosie,” Bucky answers. “Well, when’s my future neighbor move in, huh?”
Rosie looks at his watch and does some mental math. “He’s coming by for the paperwork and the keys in an hour, but he said it’ll take him a couple of days to actually move in.”
Bucky sighs and nods, “Alright well, I’m going out with Curt and Kenny for drinks tonight so I’ll probably miss him. I’ll roll out the welcome wagon when I see him around.”
“Thanks Bucky,” Rosie says with a small smile. “I know you got used to the solitude, but you can trust me on this. You’re gonna like 6B.”
“Only time will tell Rosie,” Bucky backs away towards his own door. “Catch ya later!”
He watches as Rosie waves his clipboard at him and then makes his way down the hall towards the elevator. Bucky enters his apartment and pulls his shirt over his head, dropping it into his hamper once he reaches his bedroom. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and shoots a quick text to Curt.
Getting a new neighbor in the next couple days. Still up for drinks?
He undresses and turns the shower on and waits for the water to warm. His phone buzzes and he laughs as reads the message.
Aw, no neighbor will ever compare to your first 6B 😉 But if they turn out to be like the last one, I’m ready to kick some ass.
Noted, tough guy. Drinks?
Satisfied with the water temperature, Bucky goes to put the phone down when it buzzes in his hand.
As long as you don’t mind being a third wheel!
Bucky grins and replies immediately.
You gotta actually ask him out before I can be considered a third wheel Curtie.
I’m playing the long game Bucky, you know that.
Eager to wash off the mornings grime, Bucky sends another text.
Where and when?
He waits a moment and grins at his phone as he reads Curt’s response.
The Wharf at 5! Second shift starts at 4 and Benny hired a new server we gotta check out. Well youuuuu gotta check out. I’m telling you, Bucky… you’re gonna swoon.
Only time will tell, see you at 5!
He shoots the text back and drops the phone onto the counter, finally hoping into the hot stream of water. Two new people to meet apparently in his very near future. He’s as skeptical of Curt’s matchmaking skill as he is of having a new neighbor so he’s not feeling overly confident on either front.
Only time will time.

Hmm, quite a step-down, isn't it? But I suppose it's the best one could expect from you." He stood nonchalantly against the doorframe, observing as you hurriedly packed your daughter's bag for her stay at her father's house and her cheerleading practice session.
"Excuse me? What are you trying to imply?" Whirling around too quickly, you accidentally knocked the neatly folded clothes onto the floor. With an exasperated sigh, you bent down to pick them up.
The man smirked and responded with a biting, sarcastic tone. "I'm merely stating the truth – he's no match for me. And eventually, believe me, you will realize your mistake and come crawling back."
You were going to reply, but you heard light footsteps and decided against your statement.
“Daddy!” You heard your daughter scream while running into her dad's arms. He picked her up easily and gave her a tight hug.  He sat her down gently, and she ran to you and gave you a tight hug. You smiled and kissed her forehead. She let you go and you grabbed her bag and handed it to her.
“Have fun at practice sweetheart and make sure you behave for your dad. She skipped out with her dad, and you fell on your bed exhausted. Wishing it didn’t have to be like this.
There are many things you could say about Albert Wesker, starting with his questionable morals and his overall manipulative personality. Despite the character flaws, he was the best dad, he’s always been there for Wren.
Your phone buzzes and you reach over and grabbed it.
Unknown Number :
“Remember what I said dearheart, you’ll come crawling back to me. Besides I’m not so fond of another man raising our daughter…
Frustrated, you forcefully tossed your phone onto the plush bedspread. Thoughts raced through your mind – who did he believe himself to be?
Patrick had proven to be an attentive and caring boyfriend, always treating you with the utmost respect and demonstrating a strong bond with Wren.
Wesker, on the other hand, could take a hike; ultimately, his own arrogance led to the downfall of your relationship. His perpetual absence and inflated pride were insufferable.
You inhaled deeply, striving to regain composure and evict thoughts of Wesker from your mind.
After all, you had a romantic evening arranged with Patrick – a far more deserving focus for your attention.
You simply had to effortlessly slip into your elegant dress and step out of the comfort of your home. With a sense of anticipation, you gracefully slid your feet into your stylish shoes and draped a coat over your shoulders. The destination Patrick had chosen was a charming restaurant nestled an hour away, allowing for a pleasant drive filled with anticipation.
Until your phone started ringing, you sighed and pulled your car over. You glanced down at your phone and sighed. ‘Unknown Number’
You clicked the accept button hastily and brought the phone to your ear.
“Hello?” you asked annoyed, you already knew who it was.
“Dearheart? Where are you?” He demanded
You scoffed and groaned “Seriously Wesker, I'm heading to my date.” He made a noise and added.
“Well looks like you'll have to cancel. Our dear Wren is missing her mommy.”
“Albert for god's sake, be her dad. Besides Wren is eight, and I highly doubt she misses me. You’re fucking jealous. I've had it with your remarks.” you shouted at him, you quickly clicked off the call and resumed driving to the restaurant.
Once you arrived, you parked your car and made your way to the modern restaurant. You noticed Patrick was waiting outside for you. You smiled and rushed up to you, with roses.
"Hey, dear" he whispered into your ear as he pulled you into a warm embrace, causing an uneasy feeling to grow in the pit of your stomach. Perceptive as always, he noticed your reluctance and gently inquired about your discomfort. "Oh, it's nothing major, darling. It's just that I'm not particularly fond of that nickname." His eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at you with a mixture of surprise and annoyance. "Seriously?" he grumbled, "But it's just fine when your baby daddy calls you that, huh?"
‘Patrick what the hell is up with you.” You distanced yourself from him. “You know what it doesn't fucking matter. I didn't want his sloppy seconds anyhow.
As tears welled up in your eyes, you hastily wiped them away. "Where on earth did this come from?" you inquired in a hushed tone. The air around you seemed to thicken with tension. ” You asked quietly. “Oh? Your daddy baby has been bragging about how you and him are getting back together.”
“That's crazy, we’re not.” you cried out. Without listening to you Patrick stormed off.
Rushing to your car with a heavy heart, tears streaming down your face, you contemplated dialing Wesker and unleashing your fury. But deep down, you knew it wouldn't change anything. So, you gripped the steering wheel tight and navigated the lonely roads back home, accompanied by nothing but the deafening silence.
Exhausted from the day, you parked your car and trudged towards your front door, unlocking it with a feeling of relief. The moment you stepped inside, you kicked off your tight, uncomfortable heels and carelessly tossed your bag onto the couch. With a heavy heart, you made your way towards the bedroom, needing nothing more than to let out a good cry while indulging in some sweets or even that tempting fruit platter you had picked up earlier.
Entering the kitchen to gather your comfort snacks, an eerie sensation washed over you – as if someone was watching your every move. You noticed someone in the shadows moving and you shakily called out.
“Who’s there?” your voice trembled and you grabbed the closest object to you; which happened to be a can of Lysol. Which caused you to roll your eyes.
“No need for that dearheart, it's just me.” Wesker emerged from the corner of the room and you gasped annoyed, yet thankful.
“Get out!”
“You don't mean that, I was just checking in on you after all. I suppose your date wasn't man enough for you.” Wesker explained.
“Where Wren? “ you asked impatiently
“Such a good mommy, she's with grandma.” He cooed at you while walking toward you. He grabbed your hips and pulled you closer to him. “Now c’mon dear, you know as well as I do, we haven't lost feelings for each other.”
He began kissing your neck, tenderly. You tilted your neck giving him full access. He began to leave love bites and pressed you up on the counter. “Don’t worry dear I haven't forgotten what you liked.”
He picked you up carried you to your bedroom, and laid you on the bed.
sorry for the cliffhanger, will be part two :)

“Do I wanna break into a dead guy’s apartment and go through all his shit? Sounds like an afternoon.”
Okay so I obviously needed a real good palate cleanser after I watched Barry and subsequently melted down a little bit, and there was an obvious choice because Y’AAAAAAALL
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING IS BACK!
I’m fucking crazy for this show. Steve Martin??! Martin Short???!!! being amazing old guy best friends with Selena Gomez to temper their ridiculousness and bring that fantastic sass?
It’s one of those rare, perfect shows. Everything about this show is absolutely on point. It’s funny. It’s smart. It’s emotional. And ridiculous. And gorgeously stylized. I’ve been on this wagon since day one and it’s truly wonderful.
Wherein, three tenants of an upscale apartment building in New York City, The Arconia,  start a podcast after someone dies in said building, and they’re convinced it was murder.
Since season 4 is starting, it’s the perfect time for a rewatch, gang. And it’s my first one! That’s always a fun experience, getting into something you know you enjoyed for a second time. It’s not quite familiar yet, it can still surprise you because you remember the shape of it but not necessarily all of the details. It was extremely satisfying.
I’m trying to decide which has been my favorite season so far, let’s talk it out.
Season 1: Victim, Tim Kono
A lot of shows struggle in the first season but dang this one is so strong. Charles (Steve Martin) is a mostly washed up tv star from the 90’s, Oliver (Martin Short) is an eccentric Broadway director who got blackballed after his disastrous last production, and Mabel (Selena Gomez) is in her late 20’s, squatting in her aunt’s posh Manhattan apartment and not doing much else.
At the start, the fire alarm in the building goes off and all three head to a nearby restaurant and run into each other. They bond over a podcast about a missing girl’s murder in Oklahoma, produced by the podcast queen Cinda Canning (Tina, effing, FEY!!!!!!). Cinda is an amazing addition to this show, I love Tina Fey in absolutely everything but she is so great here.
Anyway, then they find out a tenant in the building apparently shot himself, but they’d been in the elevator with him not long before and none of them were buying the story, so what else was there to do than start a podcast and investigate? It’s a ridiculous premise honestly, but it works so fucking well.
In my mind, Mabel is the focus of that season, it turns out she has a connection to Tim Kono, the victim, and the story winds out of control which I love, but they do a really good job of balancing between the three of them. Charles’ storyline ends up being insane and I enjoy Oliver’s snark and pluck and his confidence.
And I obviously love the bromance that blooms between Charles and Oliver, it’s so sweet. Like their real friendship bleeds through.
Another highlight of season 1 is Charles’s stunt double from Brazzos, played by Jane Lynch. The way they make the two of them really look like each other is funny as hell and Oliver’s reaction to meeting Sazz is classic - believing it’s Charles he asks what work he’s had done. It’s hilariously uncanny.
I won’t go into too many specifics, it’s too good to spoil, but I think I can say now that the killer in season one is my favorite. Didn’t really care about the victim but ooh, I DID NOT see that one coming.
Season 2: Victim, Bunny Folger
So after they solve their first murder, the trio celebrates and everything is awesome, but Mabel goes back to her apartment for more champagne and guess what! She finds the dead body of Bunny, the head of the board for the Arconia, who they’d spent season 1 not getting along with - Bunny had even tried to evict them.
Surprise, surprise, the three of them immediately get arrested since Mabel was found basically standing, covered in blood, over the body.  #bloodymabel
It’s fun that they spend the season trying to clear their names, I liked that aspect of it. Of course they had to come under suspicion at some point, how many murders can realistically occur in an Upper West Side building before it gets weird and you have to look at the people who’ve suddenly gained notoriety because of it?
This season for me was all about Charles, his backstory with his not-really-a-step-daughter and his dad. I guess it’s really about family overall, with Oliver’s own family drama bubbling up. I loved that they did an entire bit about Oliver always knowing when someone is lying - the scenes of him orchestrating rounds of the Son of Sam game are fantastic - but then of course he gets a big ol’ shock when a devastating secret is revealed.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Mabel’s storyline with the random british artist that popped up out of nowhere, she was kind of a twit, but you do you girl. I’m with it.
The killer reveal in season 2 is definitely my favorite - along with the joke about them throwing a “killer reveal party” - WAS it a party to reveal the killer, or a party that was going to be killer in nature??! Definitely the most satisfying reveal so far.
Season 3: Victim, Ben Glenroy
So after they solve a few murders back to back, the three of them suddenly have some good press and their lives start to turn around. Oliver gets a call to direct a new play actually ON Broadway this time, even though his last production had been a literal disaster - mermen jumping from the rafters into what should have been a pool, but was definitely just a hard stage floor, instead. L O L at the retelling he does of that tragedy during season 1.
Mabel of course is still a muddling millennial but she’s at least finally finished renovating her aunt’s apartment, and Charles’s return to his rebooted show, Brazzos, is on hiatus. SIDE NOTE, I love all of the Brazzos flashbacks, they’re so ridiculous and yet absolutely 100% what a crime drama in the 90’s was like.
Anyway, Charles joins Oliver’s show, which is starring Ben Glenroy (played by PAUL RUDD who I absolutely love), a famous actor who’s known for his superhero franchise, CoBro - which is about a bro who turns into a literal COBRA and fights crime.
One of the best parts of this season is the mentions of Ben’s starring roles. Mabel loves him from a show called “Girl Cop” and there’s an adorable moment where she does the handshake from the show with him (kind of). I want to be able to watch all of the invented content, it sounds so incredible.
BUT, of course, on the opening night of Oliver’s play, Ben ends up dead. He is by FAR my favorite victim. He seems like a dick and he definitely is but as they investigate you see a different side of him as well and I will always and forever love Paul Rudd. Bringing him on was a fantastic decision.
Did I mention that MERYL fucking STREEP is in the musical as well?? And her character is wonderful. When Oliver decides to turn the show into a musical after Ben’s death, she gets the best song of the entire thing and the first time she performs it is so poignant. I choked up a little bit the first time, and again the second time.
Also, this season has my favorite episode of the series - Charles is trying to learn a ‘patter song’ for the musical and the first time he performs it in front of the cast, he devolves into a string of hilarious curses and he blacks out and ends up in a white room, surrounded with soothing music and he’s happy and dancing and everything is great. Until they cut back to reality and his pants are down and the stage he’s on is a mess and everyone is fucking MORTIFIED. When he asks what happened, Oliver screams “TOO SOON!!!” while Mabel is shouting, “Not ready!”
It’s absurd and absolutely fucking hilarious. He goes to the ‘white room’ a few more times in that episode and I can’t help but die everytime. I don’t know why I find it so hilarious but the sequences are perfect. You never know what happened and neither does Charles and I love it.
I think I’ve decided this is my favorite season, even if the killer is kind of obvious. There was so much going on with the musical that the usually elaborate story of getting to the murderer is kind of muted, but it’s still so. good.
And so, season 3 wraps up nicely, but we find out that Sazz has basically been executed in Charles’s apartment while they celebrate. Uh oh.
Which leads me to the start of Season 4. I’m SO excited. One of the best parts of this show is the cameos, and I am losing my mind over the addition of Zach Galifianakis. I’ve been in love with his insane face since his comedy special “Live at the Purple Onion” was on Netflix. I’m talking like, 2008, people. I saw him perform at some random festival before The Hangover ever came out. For a long time “Purple Onion” was my comfort watch, before ‘comfort watch’ was really a thing.
He’s going to be incredible, and I can’t wait. I’m sure Eugene Levy and Eva Longoria will be good too but whatever, it’s gonna be all about Zatch Gaspifinasky for me.
I’m not a huge fan of streaming shows releasing one episode a week, but I’ll endure it happily for Only Murders In The Building. Not many shows lately have been as solid, consistent, and FUN to watch as this one.
Who killed Sazz Pataki, y’all?! I can’t wait to find out…

Not to be too depressing but just a record of living where I do since covid:
My best friend moved 200 miles away
I had no ability to meet anybody new because socialising in any way with someone you didnt already know was forbidden by law
The queer bars that were my entire social circle closed for 15 months
I got made redundant from my job and lived on unemployment benefits that came to about a third of my usual income for over a year
I got evicted from the house I'd lived in for 6 years and hoped to buy
I had no ability to save a deposit for a house so was stuck in the renter trap
I didn't see my family for over a year because I'm an immigrant and travel was banned
Meanwhile, my flatmate whose family lived locally, frequently had their family over to visit, even against the rules at the time
My favourite local cafe closed down and didn't reopen
My favourite restaurant, the same
I couldn't go to my gym for over a year
I had no garden
All public toilets were closed down; meaning that for someone with no car and IBS I was very limited in where I could go out for over a year because I had to remain near enough to a toilet (ie. the one in my house) that I wouldn't publicly soil myself unable to reach one
My bedroom was about 4 meters square and this was the entire space I could call my own because my flatmate insisted on working and relaxing in the lounge and due to being unemployed and an immigrant I had nowhere else to move to
I believed I might have cancer because the hospital that did my biopsy in Feb 2020 decided not to tell me that I definitely didn't until April 2022!
Although there were things I would have liked to do during the break like study courses or get qualifications, I couldn't due to my lack of money. Meanwhile the media trumpeted about how "everyone" was finding fun things to do at home with their automatically paid "furlough"
I lost really crucial years of my life when most people build the connections that will see them into the next stage. Pre covid I was someone who succeeded despite all the odds. As an immigrant, with a physical disability, and with no direct experience or relevant qualifications, I managed to land and excel in a high-powered corporate job by 25 years old. I was in such a good place to set my future up. And then lockdown destroyed it all.
I endured all this in (and with) the hope and expectation that the world would return to normal when it was all over and we overcame the illness.
And then it didn't. Now there's a new normal, leisure is ringfenced for the rich, small businesses are struggling and suffering seems to be the expected default for citizens. What a world.

Chapter 11
The birthday party was held at a restaurant that overlooked a wide, open lawn which backed onto the reservoir of the town’s waterfall dam. It had a huge patio covered by pergola-esque beams, which were strung enchantingly with Edison bulb lights and creeping vines of lush ivy. You thought the party would be relatively small, but as it turned out, the whole place had been booked out just to celebrate Hyejin, and the restaurant and patio were packed full of friends and family. Turns out, Jungkook wasn’t going to get his wish of paying for dinner, since everything was already paid for. The food was catered by the restaurant, mostly focused around the barbeques grilling burgers of all types, a long table full of buffet style sides and fixings, and several scattered counters covered in trays of appetizers. There was an area set up outside on the patio where three women and two men - who Jungkook told you were all family - played live music for the night.
It was a lot for just a birthday party - you were lucky some years to even get a cake. You assumed Hyejin was hitting some sort of milestone birth year, and so Abe decided to go all out.
You were a touch tipsy already from the bottle of wine you demolished in the bathtub, but kept a safe high throughout the first part of the evening as the copious amounts of food, socializing, and dancing, kept your body nourished and moving.
It was the perfect atmosphere to be in. You and Jungkook weren’t the center of anyone’s attention - which was something you worried about, expecting a small group of friends would lead to inquiries about “who the hell the new girl was and why was she with Jungkook out of the blue?” You weren’t completely safe, however, when someone Jungkook introduced as his friend Mira, became curious enough to bluntly ask.
“So, what’s the deal with you two?” Mira said as she glanced at Jungkook at the bar, who was grabbing another round of beer. “I’ve literally never heard of you before, no offense. How do you even know each other?”
Mira, you suspected, might’ve been christened in the Church of Town Gossips. She had already given you the dirty details on several people at the party - which essentially was harmless since you had no idea who the hell they were, nonetheless, who they were related to. But Mira was clever. She buttered you up with the friendly, girlfriend banter you had been missing, made you feel safe in her presence, then when the last beer kicked in, she dug for your secrets which you were all too ready to tell. The girl was good.
“Ughh!” you let out a sigh that could be heard over the loud noises of the bar. “We knew each other from a long time ago. But until about…” you looked up to the ceiling as you tried to count how long it had been since the kitchen, “five days ago?... I was engaged to this other guy. He was having an affair with my best friend. So, I ran away and came here,” you confessed, sober enough to know which details of that decision you needed to hide.
“No!” Mira’s eyes widened and her mouth fell open as she gawked at you. “You’re kidding?”
“I wish I was.”
“I’m so sorry, that’s awful. What did you do when you found out?”
“I just left. I did get my lawyer to send an eviction notice, and everything I could get refunds for from the wedding, I kept myself, so… the bastard’s broke and homeless.”
“Good girl,” Mira stuck up her hand and demanded a high-five. “Where were you when my ex was fucking around on me?”
“Oh, damn, I’m sorry,” it was your turn to be empathetic.
“Yeah, we were married for one month,” she punctuated by pointing up her index finger, “then I found out. He missed his sidepiece while we were away on our honeymoon, apparently.”
“What is up with these guys?” you began to fume. “Like, I never held a gun to this man’s head and forced him to propose to me.”
“Seriously,” she shook her head. “We had been together forever, and I wanted to move forward or move on. I told him, we either take the next step, or we break-up. He proposed. He should have chosen the break-up. But nooo… he didn’t wanna be the bad guy who didn't wanna get married, so he became the real bad guy who cheated constantly.”
“People suck,” you narrowed your eyes as you took another drag of your beer.
“They do,” Mira agreed. “Men suck.”
“Hear-hear,” you stuck up your bottle and the two of you clinked the necks together, then sucked back another gulp.
“What are we celebrating?” Jungkook stepped up to the bar table you two had been slouched over, but instead of being greeted with two set of eyes happy to see him, he saw two predators ready to tear him apart for simply existing as a man, nonetheless, interrupting their girl time.
“We’re bonding over how much men suck, Jungkook,” Mira pointed a finger at him, and the way she slurred her words made you realize she too was a little drunk. “And you’re interrupting.”
Jungkook suppressed a grin, put his hands up in surrender and took a step back. “My bad, Mira.”
“You can have her back in a while,” Mira continued. “I like her.”
“I like her too,” he handed you a fresh bottle, along with a peck on the cheek. “Don’t send her back too angry, Mira, we got plans later,” he winked, you blushed, and she rolled her eyes.
“I make no promises,” she gestured with her hand to shew him off. “Now go away.”
Jungkook backed off, then you both watched him as he strode across the floor and made his way towards some friends. You weren’t quite sure where Mira’s eyes were focused - nor did you much care - but you were definitely eating up all of Jungkook.
“Well,” Mira sighed, “I gotta say you have high standards for your rebounds, Y/N. I’m jealous, Jungkook is so much hotter than mine was.”
“You mean after your divorce or whatever?”
“Yeah. But my rebound was really fucking good at going downtown. Best head of my life, I swear. Better than my current husband,” she then leaned in close and whisper-yelled, “but don’t tell him I said that.”
You laughed loud and long. You were really liking the dynamic with Mira, the girl time, the camaraderie, and the funny and lewd banter. You could easily see yourselves becoming good friends if given the opportunity. But something she said was sticking with you. Rebound.
She wasn’t necessarily wrong. You didn’t really see Jungkook as a rebound relationship… and honestly, you didn’t really believe that relationships could be so easily boxed in and labeled with such terms. But still… the concept wasn’t exactly the stuff of myths. You had jumped quickly into something relationship-adjacent as a result of a failed relationship. You had done so before you were truly over what happened - in fact, you had done so because you weren’t over what happened.
“Mira,” you sighed, “Am I crazy if I kinda started to fall for my rebound?”
“No,” Mira shook her head supportively. “I don’t believe in hard and fast rules like that. But - I will say - surviving infidelity doesn’t just happen in a day.”
“Yeah,” you lamented. “I think I’m figuring that out.”
“Hey, ladies!” you heard the familiar voice of Hyejin as she stepped up to join you at your table. “You look like you’re bonding!”
“We are!” Mira said.
“Hey, Hyejin,” you called her attention. “I wanted to talk to you about something - but I don’t want to overstep.”
“What about?” she looked a touch confused.
“Well… see I’m an accountant, and I used to work with a lot of smaller clients. I work for one stupid conglomerate now, but… one of my clients used to be an art gallery. I thought, if you were interested…” you began to feel awkward now, and wished you were a touch more sober when you decided to approach her. “In short, if you’re looking to try again, I would love to help you. There’s tons of grants and tax breaks out there that people just don’t even know about.”
“Really?” Hyejin’s eyes widened. “You’d do that?”
“Yeah. I really liked working with that other gallery. It was… exciting for an accountant, ha-ha!”
“How much?”
“Oh, no, I’ll do it for free. I can’t legally help others out anyway. It’ll be our secret.”
“I would love that,” she crossed her hands over her heart. “That place was my dream.”
Your heart felt light and warm as you watched tears threaten to well behind her eyes. Moments like that were why you loved your job.
“If I don’t see you before I go home, I’ll leave my contact with Jungkook to give to you.”
“Oh, when are you going home?” Hyejin tilted her head curiously and looked a bit hurt.
You shrugged and shook your head, “I don’t know yet.”
“Well, if there’s anything I can do to convince you to stay, let me know. You and Jungkook seem so cute together.”
“It’s annoying, right?” Mira elbowed Hyejin. “They’re so fucking happy.”
“I don’t know, guys,” you laughed. “It’s only been a few days, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
“Oh,” Hyejin tsked, “Who cares? I have an eye for these things - I just know it’ll work out.”
You caught Mira shaking her head at you, letting you know that - at least in her opinion - Hyejin didn’t have the “eye” she was bragging about.
“Hyejin,” Jungkook called when he returned to the table with Abe and another man - whom by the way he stepped up behind Mira - you assumed was her husband. “You stood in our grocery store and promised me you wouldn’t pester her,” he teased as he stepped up beside you.
“Did I say that?” she quirked her head and pretended to not recall the exchange.
“There were witnesses,” he retorted.
“Well,” she shrugged. “File a complaint with my lawyer, I guess. But before then, we need you and everyone outside. We’ve got a surprise.”
Everyone looked at each other, searching for a face among the table that knew what was going on - aside from Abe and Hyejin. But, if anyone knew something, no one slipped up.
“Sure,” Mira’s husband nodded, then took his wife's hand, and began to lead the group out onto the patio.
When everyone was gathered outside, Abe and Hyejin stood excitedly in front of the microphone which the band had been using when performing. They had huge smiles plastered to their faces and held hands so tight, like they were afraid to lose each other in a violent storm.
“Hey, everyone!” Abe was the one who spoke. “Thank you all for coming. As you know, we brought you here under the guise that we were celebrating Hyejin’s birthday. Some of you know, however, that today is not actually her birthday – it's on Tuesday. The reason why this is important, is because years ago, when we started dating, she told me – I think halfway through our appetizers on the first date – that she wanted to be married before she turned 35.”
The crowd laughed nervously, and you smiled. But you also developed a sinking feeling in your stomach, as you pulled together the pieces of what was happening. Jungkook, who had his hand rested over your shoulder while his thumb caressed the back of your neck, squeezed you lightly – seemingly catching on to what was happening as well.
“She told me this at this very restaurant – and, well, since she’s turning 35 on Tuesday… we actually gathered you all here to... umm,” he looked adoringly down at Hyejin before he mustered the courage to speak the punchline. “To witness our marriage vows.”
“We’re getting married!” Hyejin squealed into the mic, and the crowd erupted with awes and applause. “Right now! This is our wedding! Sorry about the seating, most of you will have to stand but, we promise it’s going to be quick!”
The crowd laughed, then the space became scattered and chaotic as people tried to move tables out of the way, and place chairs in some sort of fashionable order.
You and Jungkook ended up standing to the side, next to the large flower boxes that contained the patio from the lawn. He leaned precariously over the edge of the box and strung his arms around your waist as you leaned against him. It was the nicest spot, in your opinion. You could see the stage perfectly, but were far enough away that you could also catch the cool breeze coming up from the water.
“Are you okay with this?” Jungkook asked his question low, so not to alert anyone standing near you.
“Yeah,” you nodded. “It’s fine.” You weren’t sure if it was fine – but you didn’t want to somehow offend a special moment like two people celebrating their love by needing to duck out and go cry in the bathroom.
Despite how casual and rustic the wedding was… it was so incredibly beautiful. It was personal and intimate, and even though you didn’t know Hyejin and Abe all that well, you knew that somehow this atmosphere suited them perfectly. You felt foolish watching it all, because all you could think about was yourself. You had a huge, beautiful, lace ballgown wedding dress, while she had a cute white-silk two-piece pant and halter crop outfit. Chris was going to wear a tux, Abe had on a teal Hawiian shirt covered in Flamingos. You were supposed to get married in a grand hall, surrounded by roses and lilies. They were getting married surrounded by geraniums and beer bottles.
Your wedding was supposed to be the most lavish display of love and commitment - and yet, here, in the middle of nowhere, on the patio of a restaurant bar… you were witnessing true commitment. That much was evident by their self-written vows which no flower or expensive architecture could capture in terms of beauty. You were brought easily to tears - both happy for them, and sad for yourself. You and Chris were never ones for speeches.
That - what Hyejin and Abe had - was what you wanted. You couldn’t help but wonder if you had been trying to fabricate all that with Chris. Had you really loved him as much as you once thought you did? Or did you only love the thought of him?
You put on a brave and smiling face for everyone. Today wasn’t about you - even though your inner turmoil didn’t know that. Fake smiling eventually convinced you to really smile. You ended up having a lot of fun, and with time, you became better at squashing the returning desire to burst into tears.
But it didn't last...
After all the food was gone, the Edison’s hanging from the pergola were turned off, and replaced with tiny, blue fairy lights that had been discreetly strung through the beams and ivy. Hyejin and Abe had their first dance, then everyone who was paired up was invited to join. You were slow dancing with Jungkook under the new ambience, surrounded by love and good vibes - but, internally you were cursing yourself for not being as present in the moment as you wanted to be. Everything was so fucking romantic, from the lighting to the music, to the way you moved together, and looked at each other. But you felt the dam inside you beginning to crack.
“Do you want to go somewhere?” Jungkook asked, when he noticed your throat bob away a potential sob.
You sucked on your lower lip, and blinked rapidly as you nodded your head. "Just for a minute. I need a break."
“Okay,” he whispered, then he took you by the hand, grabbed the two nearly full beer you had opened before you took to the dance floor, and guided you across the lawn, towards the water, and away from the crowd.
You picked a space on the grass that angled downward towards the water and - as best as you could deduce in the moonlight - wasn’t containing any animal shit. You laid along the grass, resting yourself up over your elbows, and Jungkook laid propped up on his side next to you. You both looked out over the river, letting the peaceful scene relax you as you sipped on your drinks.
“I’m sorry, Y/N, if I had known I would have said something.”
“No, it’s fine. The world doesn't stop turning just because mine did. It was just… fresh, you know?”
“Yeah,” he agreed. “I wish I could help.”
“You have,” you looked hard towards him, trying to emphasize the depth and genuinity behind what you were saying. “In a lot of ways. You’ve been so… great. Even just seeing how you live up here, it’s given me a lot to think about.” You sighed, then looked out over the water as you thought about where you thought your life should go, and what you now believed you wanted. “It’s making me reconsider what I think I want out of my future.”
“What did you want?”
“I don’t know… success. A big house. A family.”
“And you don’t want that anymore?”
“No, I do want all that. I just think that maybe… there’s a lot of things I thought I needed to achieve in order to have all that. A lot of things that I guess I’m realizing don’t matter. I don’t need the perfect house or the perfect job. I just need… good people around me.”
“Do you like it here?” Jungkook asked.
“Yeah,” you nodded. “It’s quiet, and feels friendly. Safe. It would be a great place to raise a family I think. How lucky would a kid be to have all this wide open space and freedom.”
“I think that’s why I decided to stay up here.”
“Yeah? You wanna get married and have kids and all that?”
“Yeah,” he nodded. “One day for sure.”
“What were you doing before?”
“Well… right after school I was living in the city. I had a good time and all. I had an okay job doing web design. I liked it but it was a means to an end. Mostly paid for nights out at the clubs," he laughed to himself, "I wasn’t really great at planning for the future.”
“Well, you and I aren’t similar in that regard. I’m always planning. I think that might be what Chris meant - he was more go-with-the-flow.”
“Ah, fuck him. He’s an idiot. Having an ambitious girlfriend isn’t a burden.”
“So what changed?”
“Luck,” he laughed. “I inherited my house. I wasn’t really sure what I was gonna do with it at first. I thought maybe about selling it and buying a condo, but I had good memories up here. So I decided to hold onto it for a bit – keep it a getaway cabin. Then, one day, I got away and didn’t go back. I quit my job, broke my lease,” he shrugged, “now I’m here.”
“You started over.”
“Yeah. I wasn’t leaving much behind though.”
“Maybe I should do that,” you took a few good chugs of your beer.
“It’s never too late.”
People said that all the time, like it was some sage wisdom - but you always balked at the idea. Starting over was hard and risky, and seemed like something reserved for Hallmark movies. Yet, you were sitting in the presence of someone who had actually done it - so, you supposed it wasn’t such a myth afterall. Granted, he had a real estate advantage - but still.
A soft breeze wafted over the river, and rustled the leaves of the nearby trees. You closed your eyes and embraced the way it cooled your skin which had been damp in the summer night’s humidity.
“I think you should start over,” Jungkook broke you from your trance.
“I don’t know what I’d do.”
“Move here. For real, open up your own firm. I know people would come to you.”
“I don’t know. It’ll be a lot of money to just start up. I need rental space and software and licenses and insurance and so much more. I need to figure out what I can afford after I sell my house. I don’t even know what homes cost up here. Maybe… I could stick it out at my job for a little bit and save up.”
“Orrr… you could just stay with me.”
You loved that idea, and were terrified of it as well.
“I can’t do that.”
“Why not? You can use one of the spare rooms as your office. You don’t need any formal storefront around here to make it. The only lawyers in town run their business out of their backyard sheds.”
“And where would I sleep,” you looked down at him with a suggestive curve to your mouth.
“Well,” he rolled forward, and pressed a kiss to your bare shoulder. “I think I’d be willing to let you sleep in my bed. I promise you the rent is reasonable.”
“Mmm,” you hummed. “I don’t like to get into quid pro quo arrangements, but I can’t say I’m not tempted.”
Jungkook leaned in a little closer, and pressed his lips soft and long to your neck. “I can sweeten the offer if you need more convincing.”
His nose traced the skin of your neck, and you bit your lip as your body tried to slouch away from the way it tickled you and threatened to puddle you into a fit of laughter.
“You’re going on tour soon,” you managed to finally push him off. “You really wanna leave me alone in your house?”
“Actually, I was thinking you should just come on tour with me.”
“What? No. I can’t do that. I need to work.”
“Do you?” he raised an eyebrow. “Why can’t you take some time off? You’ll have money from your house. You won’t have any rent to pay. You can come on the road with me, and when we get back in October, you can set up shop then.”
“I don’t know,” you bobbed your head side to side as you agonized over the idea. It sounded fun and all, but you weren’t sure if you had the guts to do it. “What if we get sick of each other and you kick me off the bus halfway across the country. Then I’ll be the one who is homeless and broke.”
“I don’t think that’s something we need to worry about, Y/N. You and I get along pretty great.”
“Trust me, I want to say yes. I’m just… trying to be smart here. The only way I was successful in ending things with Chris so quickly was because I held all the cards. This is all so risky - I’d be putting my life in your hands.”
“It would be a risk,” he nodded. “You’d have to trust me. I know that’s a hard ask after everything. But I promise I won’t just kick you to the curb. And even if we started hating each other's guts… you’d be fine. I'm not sure of a lot of things, but I’m sure of that.”
“I don’t know,” you shook your head. “I need to think about it.”
“And you should. You’ve got a month at least, right? And after that - hell, even if you aren’t ready to move up here for good, like, come on the road with me anyway. You can store your stuff in the barn. You’ll be living for free - everything is already paid for by the label. You can think about what you wanna do for another three months.”
You nodded slowly at the moon’s reflection in the water as you considered it. He was right. You were free now that you no longer had Chris. Jungkook was offering you a chance to capitalize on that freedom.
“I’d have to sell my house before then. I have some money saved, but I can’t afford the mortgage payments for too long without a steady paycheque.”
“We can figure it all out.”
“Okay,” you nodded more firmly now. In your heart, it was an easy choice. But your head wasn’t completely sold on the idea quite yet. But you were committed to at least really considering it. “I'll think about it. Seriously,” you looked at him. “If you’re up for it, I’ll think about it.”
“I am serious.” He then sat up, and you followed by pushing yourself off your elbows to sit with him. He shuffled close, propping his arm over his bent knee resting behind your back - somewhat caging you into him so you could look closely at each other as you spoke.
“I don’t know when the right time is to say anything,” he began slowly. “But… I figure how I feel is pretty obvious at this point. I like you… I wanna see where this goes.”
You felt the return of your butterflies, and you felt sheepish underneath the watchful eyes of the stars and his unguarded and pleading gaze. You supposed you should be thankful for his honesty. You hadn’t had a lot of honesty in your life, apparently. But - amidst the butterflies and the thrilling fantasy of a future together - you couldn’t help but notice something sour and repulsive wrenching inside your gut. You chalked it up to the long and taxing day: from the stress of your legal matters; the confrontation with your ex fiance and your ex best friend; and, the impromptu wedding that only sharpened the blow. You hoped the feeling wouldn’t last. Not when you had someone wonderful like this, touching you so tenderly, looking at you so vulnerably. Not when he made your broken heart feel like it could be whole once again.
“I like you too,” you confessed. It was the truth - even though it felt like it came with a caveat you didn’t quite yet understand. “I kinda think…” you wanted to say more, but you paused as apprehension stiffened your vocal cords. “It’s stupid fast and all, but…,” you winced, “I think I might be falling for you.”
A beautiful smile, that made your heart sing, widened across his face and lit up his eyes.
“Good,” he said with a nod as he tried to wrangle his facial expression. “Because I already have.”
Your lips pulled into a smile, and you wanted to burst into a million particles. But at the same time, your stomach began to twist with guilt - like it didn’t believe you deserved this perfect moment.
“Are you trying to one-up me?” you accused, once again, retaliating against the way he made you feel. You were doing a lot of that too today.
“Nope,” he playfully shook his head. “I would never.”
His hand came down to rest over your knee, his thumb once again making soft passes over your skin. You loved and hated the simple ways that he touched you.
You both looked back up the hill towards the patio, as a deep and thumping bass began to pulse from inside the restaurant - signaling the beginning of the real party.
“Do you wanna go back?” you asked him.
“Do you? We can just go home if you want.”
“Hmm,” you thought about it, then thought about his hand on you and how you maybe wanted it to start creeping a little higher. “I think we should get back up there, have a piece of cake, do a couple shots, and makeout like horny college kids on the dance floor.”
“We can do that,” he agreed with a mischievous grin. “And then we can go home and have sweet, sloppy drunk sex?”
“Yes,” you cheered.
He stood up, brushed himself off, then offered his hand to help you off the grass. “Let’s do this.”
Morning poured itself through the windows. First with an indigo blue, then in a pale gray, then in pink streaks of sunlight, until finally the room was bathed in the soft yellow of another beautiful, clear sky. You saw all the colors of a new day cast itself over the ceilings of Jungkook’s bedroom, since you had been awake to witness it all.
You had awoken only an hour or two into your sleep, and fought for and hour or two more to fall back without success. You were so restless, yet too tired to move or do anything about it. So, you laid on your back, with Jungkook’s heavy arm loosely strung over your waist, while he snored softly at your side for hours, and you - finally truly alone with yourself for the first time in forever - mauled over everything you had been hiding deep within you.
Last night - instead of stumbling home, knocking into furniture, and collapsing on the bed in a rushed and clumsy attempt to get naked, only to barely fuck for five minutes before the whiskey dick kicked in - you didn’t have the sloppy drunk sex you had been looking forward to. Instead… you made love. It was sweet, tender, and attentive. Instead of pounding into you hard, like your body was made of concrete stone, Jungkook rocked himself into you slowly and methodically, like you were made of glass. Instead of marking his skin with your nails and your teeth, you delicately inspected the ways his muscles moved beneath your soft hands, and tasted his flesh with gentle presses of your lips. Instead of a string of expletives falling from his lips, he told you how beautiful he thought you were, along with a hundred other whispered praises that made you want to melt into the earth.
It was a perfect night… but something felt wrong.
You thought about it all as you looked up to the daylit ceiling, and regretted every way it which your fucked up feelings were sullying the memory of it. You closed your eyes as a tear escaped and rolled down your temple. After the long night, you knew why the droplet had fallen, and you were pretty sure what you needed to do.
You stretched for your phone resting on the nightstand beside you, and noticed a text message which had arrived from Chris.
Chris: I’m out of the house. [3:14 AM]
You weren't sure whether or not you should have been impressed or depressed at how quickly he had untangled himself from your life. Clearly, after he left you, he made the 14 hour trek home and didn’t stop until he was out of the house. You wondered if he had even grieved the loss. A second message had come through, however, and it seemed to answer your question.
Chris: I’m staying at Steph’s apartment. [3:28 AM]
“That fucking prick,” you whispered as you pinched the bridge of your nose, like you were feeling the onset of a migraine. You were sure he had only said that to get back at you, and you hated how much it hurt. Even worse, you felt like you deserved the hurt, despite knowing that you didn’t.
“Surviving infidelity doesn’t happen overnight,” was what Mira had warned you. She was right. You had perhaps staved off the inevitable because of a few blissful days with Jungkook, but today, everything was catching up.
You felt Jungkook begin to stir beside you. You tossed the phone aside and quickly wiped at your cheek, hiding any evidence that even that single tear had fallen.
“Hey,” Jungkook said groggily, as he raised his head to reveal droopy, sleep-filled eyes and a mop of disheveled hair.
“Morning,” you tried your best to sound cheerful.
“You been up for long?” he asked.
You nodded slowly, then confessed, “Yeah, I have.”
Even in his foggy state, he sensed at once that something was off.
“Everything okay?” he asked, concern clear in his throat.
You thought quietly about how to answer his question, but chose not to answer it at all.
“Do you think you could cover my tattoo today?”
He looked at you long and hard, like he was trying to crack the code of a complicated cipher. But the truth was, what you hadn’t said wasn’t all that well hidden.
He swallowed, before he asked the question he dreaded asking. “Are you going home today?”
You nodded, then an intense silence fell between you as you both marinated in the declaration, until you felt you needed to break it. “Chris moved out last night. I need to go pack.”
He nodded tepidly, as he hoped for the best outcome of his next question. “Are you going to come back?”
You looked at him for a long moment while you thought about your answer. Then, mustering all the courage you wish you didn't have, you said, “I don’t know…”

This ain't a difference of opinions it's a difference in morals or rather a lack thereof on their part. I don't associate with people who are either so careless so evil or so stupid they would let a sleezy rapist grifter like Donald Trump fuck them in the ass once and then beg for it to happen a second time. Like Hayden’s post says. I hope y'all never find peace. I hope every ignorant selfish woman that prioritizes male validation over protecting herself and the women around her suffers a horrific miscarriage in the coming years, and has to struggle and search far and wide and beg and plead and bribe in order to access the healthcare she needs to survive it and still cannot without extensive and prolonged medical complications. I hope every pathetic selfish rapist-apologist sorry little man-boy has to watch their best friend die right before their eyes just because they're a minority or gay, I hope they put the gun in their hand and force them to pull the trigger. And then spend the rest of his miserable existence as just another number in the "Male Loneliness" statistics. I hope every gay/trans/queer/transgender person that voted for this has to stand helpless and humiliated as they are told to leave restaurants and stores, stopped at the door and told they are not welcome, told by doctors and government officials that they have no rights when it comes to their sick or dying loved ones because they voted against their own. As for the men who did nothing, who voted blue at their own discretion but were silent on the front, did nothing to speak out against these atrocious ideals and the obvious hate toward women. I hope you have to watch every woman closest to you suffer or die. I hope your mothers/wives/daughters are raped by men you know or hold in revere and you are powerless to stop it or help them. I hope you have to stand by like the helpless, weak, stand-for-nothing sorry excuses for men you are with their blood on your hands.
And I hope when it all starts to go horribly wrong, when they start repealing laws and legislature that protects minorities women and children, when colored people can't vote anymore or women can't have a bank account or own property again, when your bosses get phone calls and have to fire all of the women, or when your landlords post notices on your doors that all gay and colored tenants have been evicted or when your children come home crying talking about how ICE agents raided their classrooms and rounded up immigrant students.... I hope you think back to these posts and how you felt when you're reading it right now...how you think we are so nuts for believing these men are going to do EXACTLY what they have told us they're going to...l hope you feel so. fucking. foolish. I hope you experience a level of shame and regret as profound as what the Romans must have felt when they crucified Jesus and immediately realized the massive fucking mistake they'd made. To be able to know the history of this world and still make the decision to be on the wrong side of it…this will haunt you for generations.

I need some advice. I recently was broken up with and I'm reeling from it. We met when i was 19 and he was 32 and we ended up hooking up 6 years ago. He didn't tell me until after we hooked up that he had a wife which started a crazy feud, but he eventually divorced his wife and convinced me to be in a relationship with him. The relationship was pretty rocky at first because he was very emotionally abusive. Like he would constantly reprimand me for doing the wrong thing and saying the wrong thing and would lecture me for hours and not let me sleep until I agreed with him. I used to live with him sometimes because my mom got evicted and i couldn't hold down a stable job because I had an untreated learning disability and he would pick fights with me every day when I would say/ do the wrong thing and sometimes he would even kick me out.
While he did all this its v confusing bc he was also very good to me at the same time?? He helped me out when I was evicted and let me live rent free with him. He helped me get my diagnosis and helped me look for a job. He helped me get over some of my insecurities and would urge me to go to therapy and helped me get my driver's license. The last 2 years he started becoming more spiritual and became a lot nicer to me (He would still reprimand me but not as often) and urged me to do yoga and meditation. He started getting serious and during that time he was throwing ideas around of leaving everything behind and going to a yoga center etc. I was so drained atp from the constant mistreatment and feeling like I wasn't a priority so I went outside the relationship to explore my options. i met a guy that I was going to meet for dinner and just talk to, but I was drugged and assaulted. I felt so guilty that I told my boyfriend and he broke up with me. This was a year ago. Since then, we've been on and off because he would come back but couldn't commit because he couldnt trust me. Early this year he moved to a different state and he reached out to me to ask if I wanted to visit him out there in the summer. I was cautious but I agreed because I missed him. We started calling and texting every day and he started hinting that he wanted a relationship with me again. I started catching feelings again and was grateful for the opportunity to make things right because I fucked up. I bought the plane tickets and two days after I bought them he told me that he was getting women flirting with him out there and that he wanted to explore his options. I was so upset and I asked him why we couldnt work things out, he told me he still couldnt trust me after what happened. He told me it's best if I get a refund on the tix and just stay home. I felt so crushed, I felt like I was lead on and I feel so ashamed and guilty over what I did. The worst part is I felt like I ruined everything and it's my fault that the relationship ended the way it did. What do I do???? I have no friends and no one to talk to.
I’m sorry you feel like you have no friends and no one to talk to, I’ve been there many times myself. I think putting aside any feelings you have about your breakup/ex, you should try to focus on what would make you feel better right now. And I think that would be making a friend and giving your brain a break from analyzing what happened with your ex and trying to solve it. It sounds like you’ve been stuck in a spiral of negative thinking and blaming yourself, and honestly the only way to get out of that spiral in my experience is to change how you’re thinking and living your life. Small changes are best. Choose to join a group you’re interested in, try to make a friend. You can hangout and just talk about silly inconsequential stuff. You can try new restaurants together or go see a movie. Or you can do those things by yourself if you want. I often go to the beach and just walk around taking pictures by myself. I’ll spend the whole afternoon there and I don’t feel anxious at all. Sometimes it’s the only break I get from my anxiety. And a little break is much better than no break at all. I can’t fix how you’re feeling (I wish I could) but I can tell you that it’s normal to feel how you do, it’s okay to be confused, it’s okay to miss him, it’s okay to feel alone. Just allow yourself to feel it, then allow yourself to not feel it for a little while too. If you overwhelm yourself with these thoughts all the time, you’ll be stagnant. You need to live in the present if you want to move forward. Your body needs to process the trauma of this relationship, because it sounds like this relationship was absolutely traumatizing for you. I have been in several abusive/traumatizing relationships with men and every single time I blamed myself. Even when they hit me and sexually violated me, I was still the one who ended up apologizing. I was always the problem to these men. There was no other scenario. I would always be the bad guy to them, and I felt like that said something about me rather than them. I didn’t realize how much I hated these men until many years later. I was so used to being blamed and apologizing that I couldn’t even understand that it wasn’t shame and regret I was feeling, it was anger, rage, fury. I can’t speak to your ex’s character but I can tell you that positive, healthy relationships do not end with one person feeling like they’re to blame for everything and being overwhelmed with feelings of confusion and regret. It’s possible to find love that is easy and effortless. That kind of love won’t leave your head hurting and searching for a fix. You’ll feel calm and safe. I hope you’ll be gentle with yourself as you detox from this relationship. I think making a friend or just spending some me time doing something relaxing like photography or learning an instrument or painting could make a really positive change in your life. Sending love & calming energy 🕊️

Preparing Your Home for Winter: Cleaning and Organising Essentials
Crisp air wafts in announcing winter’s brilliant entrance as we trade sunny patios for cozy hearths. As the season sets in, keeping a clean home environment becomes pivotal for health, hygiene and comfort. With doors and windows staying shut, dust and grime can easily accumulate and circulate indoor air. Regular deep cleansing battles stubborn dirt buildup that triggers allergies or illness during peak flu season.
Moreover, spotless spaces bolster mental health by providing a cheery, orderly ambiance during shorter winter days spent largely inside. Dimmed winter sunlight makes dust and clutter especially noticeable if cleaning lapses, contributing to seasonal moodiness. Let your home join the preparation celebration this season! Arm yourself with our essential tips for winterizing through refreshing cleaning paired with smart storage that sparks winter-flavored joy.
Here are a few cleaning tips for winter
Deep clean carpets: Vacuum carpets thoroughly to pick up accumulated dirt, debris, pet hair, etc. Consider renting a carpet steam cleaner to deep clean carpets and give them a fresh start for the winter months.
Wash windows: Dust and grime can build up on windows which don’t get cleaned as often in winter when they stay shut. Give all your windows a thorough wash inside out and improve sunlight intake.
Shampoo upholstery: Give fabric upholstery like couches/chairs a thorough cleanse to limit dust and seasonal allergens from lingering on surfaces.
Deep Clean Kitchen: Winter hibernation calls for your kitchen to undergo a clean transformation, shedding its mossy rainy skin. The still closed windows trap smells and grime – it’s time to refresh! Dust off the forgotten spices, let the vintage vinegar rest. Scrub the oil-slicked hood and backsplash clean, erasing years of splatter stains.
Follow these organizing tips to keep your home wintry-ready
Declutter surfaces: Clear kitchen counters, tabletops, consoles etc. by putting things back in place, storing excess items, and wiping down completely. Cleaner flat surfaces prevent dust and germ buildup.
Shake Out Stuffy Spaces: Banish closed-up stuffiness by throwing open the windows and allowing crisp winter wind to breeze through. Give drapes and area rugs a brisk shakeout outdoors before washing to refresh them. Clear cluttered surfaces and deep clean to evict dust and allergens that accumulated during cozier months.
Service Heating Appliances: Ensure any room heaters, electric blankets or hot water bottles are in good condition before the cold sets in. Stock up on spare parts if needed.
Organize Winter Clothes: Clear some space in wardrobes and drawers to keep sweaters, jackets, scarves, beanies and other winter wear handy. Store away summer clothes.
Yet many souls weighed down by life’s chores sigh at the prospect of additional scrubbing, dusting and decluttering required for winter-ready households. When time scarce as it is must be split between work, family and the 100 things that demand attention, who has the bandwidth for extensive house cleaning as the holidays approach? Fret not! For Dial4CleanHome.com is here to banish the gloom and bring back the festive sheen into your home!

It’s been a while, I feel like I never post anymore. Well a lot has happened since the last time I was here. I’m married to my best friend Skyler, we have recently moved again. It was not our choice this time unfortunately. Our roommate got into a disagreement with my baby brother, who has been staying with us for about 8 months, and that turned into him telling my brother he was evicted and had to leave. It turned into a huge fight about money. (Back story: My brother worked for our roommate at his family’s restaurant for about a week a couple months prior and was never paid for it. Well my brother had text and asked about his money that was owed to him and the roommate came home mid day to have a screaming match with my brother) I had to step in and stop it before it became a physical problem, roommate in turn started yelling at my wife and I about things that had nothing to do with what was happening. He then left the house in a huge fit, i in anger took a rubber mallet and put a hole in the back window of the projector car our roommate had in the garage, (he previously had broken two of the other windows completely out of the car in a fit of rag) we packed all of my brothers things and moved him and he dog out of the house. We decided since our roommate had come home in such a fit of rag we didn’t feel safe going home that night. We stayed at a family members house and when we returned in the morning to get more of our things, the locks on the house had been changed and we were told we couldn’t enter the home without a police escort. We have been out of the house now for almost 3 weeks and have still not gotten a formal eviction notice. I have been served with a situation for criminal mischief for the broken window however I have also filed charges against the landlord and our roommate. Worst part of the whole thing is, our roommate is the landlord’s grandson and our bosses son, so I was wrongfully terminated for my job over the whole situation and have now filed suit with BOLI (bureau of labor and industry) for unpaid back wages for myself and my wife along with the wrongful termination. I have court next week about the criminal mischief case.
