What places in the city do you think Astarion would want to show you or take you to? Thinking about the city and its undiscovered streets/shops/places as I was gazing out over Baldur's Gate from Ramazith's tower. Would he sit on the edge of the balcony and tell you things about the city or his experiences?
oooo, what a question...
Tumblr media
if there's a chance his favourite tea shop from when he was alive is still there (possible, if its owners were elvish) he takes you for a cup of assam and a slice of cake. he watches you enjoy your food and talks to you about when he used to come here, how things have changed, what he recalls of the original decor.
later, he probably knows the hole-in-the-wall places and little-known bars which serve the best drinks. the fine vintages which they aren't really meant to have their hands on, but somehow they find their way to the owners anyway. he buys you a couple of glasses and watches you light up in pleasure at the taste. he was a wine snob in life, he knows what the best bottle is.
when he was stalking around as a spawn, he saw so many tailors he wanted to go and visit. now he finally has a chance! the two of you buy whole new wardrobes, spending a long afternoon getting measured and discussing fabric together. you are the best-dressed couple in Baldur's Gate.
takes you to his favourite bookshop. yes, he has one. it sells old tomes at far too high a price, but they're all first editions and collector's items. he tells you not to let Gale know about this place, because he thinks it's funny to keep it a secret. you pretend to tell him off but agree to keep this only between the two of you.
he knows the best spot to watch the sun set over the water, see the way the orange light dances across the waves. he's too busy to enjoy it himself, though, because he can't stop staring at you.
doesn't tell Rolan he's taking you up to the top of Ramazith's Tower (that little tiefling can't stop him anyway, and it's better to ask forgiveness than permission). the two of you sit, sharing a bottle you bought earlier, looking out across the whole of the city. he tells you of his life two hundred years ago here, what's changed, what's not. how he's so much more glad to be experiencing all this with you this time. you're a new light in his life.
he kisses you, lays you down on the balcony, and makes love to you over the top of the city in the sweet summer air. a celebration of your new life together here. with you, his future is bright for the first time.
bonus: rolan finds you embraced together the next morning and is apoplectic. the two of you have to run away, half-dressing yourselves and giggling as you go.

What are some cool places to visit in Assam?? It's my dream to visit Assam for once in my lifetime
See, it depends on when you're visiting and who you're asking. I personally wouldn't suggest visiting during summer because even Assamese people run to Shillong because of the heat and humidity. You can visit during autumn or winter and even spring. I really like the time between January and April, the air just feels lighter... The coming of spring, the leaving of winter, the rains (I don't like rains but still), the new life in the flora is just... Mwah!
About the places, the classic Kaziranga National Park but that's too far from Guwahati so you'll have to stay in Kaziranga for a few days. Fun fact, I've never been there. Also, it's not a very major tourist attraction because it's a very typical place but you need to spend an evening sitting by the river bank in Dharapur and enjoy the sunset while the wind blows your hair away from your face and you just contemplate life. Also, if you're spiritual or religious the Kamakhya temple is a must. You just feel a sort of energy there, you know? I'm not from Tezpur and I've never been there but it has some really scenic places as well. If you wanna know about the history of Assam, Rang Ghar and Talatal Ghar in Sibsagar is a must. They're not the only places but they're some of the most famous ones. You can also visit the Bhupen Hazarika Samadhikshetra in Jalukbari simply because Bhupen Da is beloved by everyone and their mothers and he deserves it all.
So yeah, I think that's enough for now. Just remember that these places are random and cannot be included in a single itinerary unless you're planning on visiting for a long time. I'm not the best person to ask about this because my own state is one of the places I've explored the least in, so do ask the internet just in case. I just mentioned whatever I could recollect at the moment. Thanks for being curious!

Tagged by @deaths-accountant in this post! Thanks!
Relationship status: Single.
Favorite color: Orange! Orange is the best color.
Song stuck in my head: As a general rule, Super Mario World "Athletic" plays in my head on repeat. Might be a contender for "song I have spent the most net time listening to". Ah, Mario...
Last song I listened to: SCANDAL - Scandal Baby
Last thing I Googled:
Tumblr media
Mostly I google things that I half remember to make sure I am remembering them right. For instance I didn't know the name of that Super Mario World theme off the top of my head. And for a post earlier I had to find that IRA statement on Margret Thatcher. And so on.
Dream trip: I may have posted about this before, but my dream trip (or, well, one of them) is probably to travel from Afghanistan to Southern China by way of the south side of the Himalayas. Start in Kandahar and then go up to Kabul, through the Khyber pass into Peshawar, then to Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand (not sure exactly where I would visit in these places), go through Nepal, see various things and especially visit Kathmandu, then travel around the Assam/Nagaland/Arunachal Pradesh region and finally go north into China, probably ending in Chengdu.
This trip is uh, Not Feasible at the moment, as it probably involves crossing more contested borders than any other geographically coherent trip you could imagine. Although one could presumably make it worse by trying to go from their into South Korea by land. Anyway, I think I'll have to save this one for a different political climate.

Today’s tea is blackberry sage, from republic of tea. It’s a black tea, but a rather delicate one, that doesn’t have the robust body of say, a cup of assam or english breakfast. That delicacy is good though, because the blackberry and white sage are also delicate flavors. Not weak, they come through very nicely, but subtle. The blackberry captures that nice juicy, brambley flavor of the berry and the white sage is fresh, like the leafy scent of the woods on a cool dewy morning, with just a little bit of coolness on the tongue like a very gentle fresh mint leaf. (Not dried mint or peppermint. Fresh mint has a subtle sweetness and a much gentler minty flavor.) To be honest, it’s best without milk, since the sharper notes of blackberry and the subtle fresh notes of the white sage would come though better and the milk flavor kind of overpowers the subtleties, but I’m creature of habit and I poured it without really thinking. Still good with or without though. Republic of tea is one of the pricier brands of teabags, at $12-$15 for a can of 36 or 50 teabags, but if you’re going to splurge they’re usually a good bet. (Some pricier tea bags, I think, are just fancier packaging and better marketing rather than better flavor.) Their teabags are definitely a big step up in quality from a cheaper bagged tea, and the flavors always come through. They also sell a number of their flavors as looseleaf teas as well, but I haven’t had the chance to try any yet, though I hope to do so.
I picked today’s teacup because the mushroom pattern called to me today, and it’s a nice match for the foresty notes of the tea. I got this one when a friend came to visit, and I took her to pike place market (because you can’t visit Washington without going). She lives out of state and I don’t get to see her as often as I wish I did, so I wanted to make sure she got the full experience, as much as a pair of easily tired introverts can manage anyway. There’s a shop at pike place that sells Polish pottery that’s always a lot of fun to browse, so of course we ducked in. Most of my teacups come from thrift shops, but this is one of the handful that I bought new. I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw it, and where was I ever going to find something else like it? I’m usually pretty careful about money, so I always second and third and fourth guess before I splurge, and sometimes I talk myself out of things I wish I’d gone for. I’m glad I was there with my friend that day, because she encouraged me to buy it. It makes me happy every time I use it, looking at the cute pattern and remembering spending time together. No other teacup would have been the one I found with her that day.

By purchasing smaller quantities, you can experiment with different flavors without a high initial investment.
3. Wholesale Tea Suppliers and Cooperatives
Tea cooperatives and wholesale suppliers often offer discounted rates on unique tea varieties.
Tea Board of India: This government board oversees tea trade in India and can connect you to reputable wholesalers.

Direct Trade Programs: This model often allows for better rates and higher-quality teas, as it cuts out intermediaries.
Direct sourcing can strengthen your brand’s story by showing your commitment to transparency and quality.

Herb Shops: Mint, lemongrass, and basil can be found at local herb markets and added to green or black teas for refreshing blends.

Exploring India’s Iconic Wildlife: Beyond the Tigers
India is renowned for its tigers, but the country is home to a diverse array of wildlife that deserves attention. From majestic elephants and rhinos to rare birds and exotic reptiles, the Indian wilderness offers much more than just tiger sightings. This blog explores India’s lesser-known yet iconic wildlife species and the best national parks to experience them.
Introduction: Beyond the Stripes
When people think of Indian wildlife, their minds immediately jump to the Bengal tiger. With the global appeal of tiger safaris and conservation efforts like Project Tiger, tigers have become symbolic of India’s rich biodiversity. However, India’s landscapes support a staggering variety of flora and fauna, much of which remains relatively undiscovered by mainstream tourism. This blog invites readers to look beyond tigers and explore the lesser-known but equally fascinating wildlife that roams the subcontinent.
For wildlife enthusiasts, venturing into the wild means more than just spotting the elusive tiger. The dense forests, vast grasslands, marshes, and desert landscapes house creatures like the Indian elephant, Asiatic lion, and Indian one-horned rhinoceros. If you’re planning a wildlife trip to India, don’t limit yourself to tigers—there’s so much more to witness.
The Majestic Indian Elephant: Gentle Giants of the Wild
The Indian elephant is one of the most iconic species in the country. These gentle giants are revered in Indian culture and are an integral part of the country’s wildlife heritage. Elephants can be spotted in the jungles of South India, the grasslands of the Northeast, and even in the dense forests of central India.
Best Places to Spot Elephants:
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kerala
Kaziranga National Park, Assam
Bandipur National Park, Karnataka
Elephants play a crucial role in maintaining the biodiversity of the ecosystems they inhabit. They shape their environment by uprooting trees, allowing the growth of grasslands, which in turn support other herbivores.
The Asiatic Lion: Kings of the Gir Forest
While Africa is home to the world’s most famous lions, India boasts its own population of Asiatic lions, found exclusively in the Gir Forest of Gujarat. Smaller and more endangered than their African cousins, the Asiatic lions are a true conservation success story. Due to efforts by the Indian government, their numbers have steadily increased over the years, making Gir Forest a haven for these majestic predators.
Where to See Asiatic Lions:
Gir National Park, Gujarat
Unlike tigers, lions are social animals and live in prides, making their behavior fascinating to observe during safaris. Gir is the only place in the world where you can see these lions in the wild, making it a must-visit for wildlife lovers.
The Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros: Protecting the Heavyweights
The Indian one-horned rhinoceros, also known as the greater one-horned rhino, is another iconic species. These massive animals, known for their solitary nature, can primarily be found in the swamps and grasslands of Assam and Uttar Pradesh. Despite being heavily poached for their horns, their population has seen a resurgence in recent years thanks to conservation efforts.
Best Places to See Rhinos:
Kaziranga National Park, Assam
Jaldapara National Park, West Bengal
Kaziranga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and holds two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhino population. A safari here offers visitors the chance to see these incredible creatures in their natural habitat.
Birdwatching in India: A Paradise for Ornithologists
India’s birdlife is just as diverse as its mammals. With over 1,300 species of birds, including migratory birds from as far away as Siberia, India is a paradise for birdwatchers. Whether you’re interested in spotting colorful kingfishers, majestic eagles, or elusive hornbills, India’s national parks and wetlands offer ample opportunity.
Best Birdwatching Spots:
Keoladeo National Park, Rajasthan
Sundarbans National Park, West Bengal
Chilika Lake, Odisha
Keoladeo is one of the most famous bird sanctuaries in India, home to thousands of migratory birds in the winter. Bird lovers flock here for a glimpse of rare species like the Siberian crane.
Leopards and Snow Leopards: Elusive and Beautiful Predators
Leopards are often overshadowed by tigers but are equally captivating predators. They are widely distributed across India and are known for their elusive nature. Found in jungles, hills, and grasslands, leopards are highly adaptable creatures, making them one of the most widespread big cats in India.
For the more adventurous traveler, snow leopards present an entirely different challenge. These magnificent creatures are found in the cold desert regions of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, where their survival depends on stealth and the harsh environment.
Where to See Leopards:
Jawai Leopard Hills, Rajasthan
Hemis National Park, Ladakh (for snow leopards)
Hemis is renowned for its snow leopard sightings and offers specialized expeditions for those seeking a glimpse of these rare cats.
Indian Wild Dogs (Dholes): The Pack Hunters
The Indian wild dog, or dhole, is one of the most fascinating and underrated predators in India. Known for their pack hunting techniques, dholes are incredibly social and work together to take down prey much larger than themselves. While not as famous as tigers or leopards, dholes are just as critical to India’s ecological balance.
Best Places to See Dholes:
Nagarhole National Park, Karnataka
Satpura National Park, Madhya Pradesh
Conclusion: Discover More of India’s Wildlife

Journey Through India: A Traveler’s Adventure Across the Subcontinent!
India. Just saying the name stirs something deep inside me. It's not just a country; it's a journey. And for someone who craves adventure, India offers endless possibilities. My journey through India was more than just a trip; it was an experience that challenged my perceptions and broadened my horizons.
Tumblr media
Problem: Overwhelmed by Choices in India
When I first planned my trip to India, I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the country. With over 1.4 billion people, 29 states, and more than 22 officially recognized languages, where do you even start? Do you begin with the chaotic streets of Delhi or the serene backwaters of Kerala? I found myself lost in research, unable to decide what should be on my itinerary. I wanted to experience everything—mountains, beaches, temples, and cities—but that seemed impossible in just one trip.
Agitation: The Fear of Missing Out
I knew that every region in India offered a different experience. North India is famous for its rugged Himalayan terrain and spiritual cities like Varanasi. Meanwhile, South India boasts lush landscapes, pristine beaches, and age-old traditions. East India is home to the tribal cultures of Assam and Meghalaya, and West India is famous for its deserts and the vibrant city of Mumbai. Missing out on any of these felt like a disservice to the country. I feared returning home with a feeling of incompleteness, knowing there were places I could have explored but didn’t.
Solution: A Carefully Planned Route Through India
So, I did what any determined traveler would do: I mapped out a route that would let me experience the best of each region, even with limited time. Here’s how I navigated my journey through India:
1. New Delhi to Jaipur to Agra (Golden Triangle):
I started in New Delhi, the capital city. It's bustling, chaotic, and packed with history. I spent a few days exploring its crowded bazaars and historic sites like the Red Fort and India Gate. From Delhi, I headed to Jaipur, known as the "Pink City" for its distinctly colored buildings. Jaipur's forts and palaces gave me a glimpse into India's royal past. The final stop in this Golden Triangle was Agra, home to the Taj Mahal. Seeing this magnificent structure was everything I imagined and more.
2. Varanasi: The Spiritual Heart:
After Agra, I took an overnight train to Varanasi, one of the oldest cities in the world. Watching the sunrise over the Ganges River, surrounded by people performing rituals, was a profound experience. It’s a place where life and death coexist, offering a glimpse into the spiritual side of India.
3. Kerala: Backwaters and Beaches:
I then flew down south to Kerala, often called "God's Own Country." Here, I spent my days cruising through the tranquil backwaters on a houseboat and my evenings on the pristine beaches of Varkala. Kerala provided a serene contrast to the chaos of the cities up north.
4. Rajasthan to Mumbai: The Desert to the Coast:
From Kerala, I made my way back north to Rajasthan. The desert landscapes of Jaisalmer and the blue streets of Jodhpur were highlights. After exploring the forts and dunes, I took a train to Mumbai, India’s financial capital. The city’s fast-paced life, contrasted with its colonial architecture and marine drive, was a fitting end to my journey.
Conclusion: My Journey Through India
The key to a fulfilling journey through India is understanding that you can’t see it all. India is vast and diverse, each region offering something unique. By carefully planning and embracing the unexpected, I was able to experience a bit of everything—history, spirituality, nature, and culture. This journey through India taught me that sometimes, the best travel experiences come from simply allowing yourself to get lost in the beauty and chaos of a place.
If you're planning your own journey through India, remember to embrace the diversity, stay open to new experiences, and enjoy every moment. There’s no other place like it on Earth.

Tumblr media
Here are some things to do in Malaysia that you should not miss.
1. Visit the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur:
One of the most well-known landmarks in Malaysia is the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. Once the tallest buildings in the world, these twin skyscrapers stood at 452 meters. The Skybridge, which links the two towers, is open for tours on the 41st and 42nd levels. After seeing the Skybridge, visitors can ascend to the 86th-story observation deck for an amazing perspective of the city. The towers are particularly gorgeous at night when they are lit up, making for an amazing photo backdrop. A great place to unwind and take in the scenery and fountains is the nearby KLCC Park.
2. Go to the Caves of Batu:
Situated slightly outside of Kuala Lumpur, the Batu Caves comprise a sequence of limestone caverns and temples. The towering golden statue of Lord Murugan, the focal point of this well-known Hindu sanctuary, stands at the entryway. To get to the main cave, which has a big temple and several smaller shrines, visitors must climb 272 colourful steps. The hike is worthwhile because the vantage point at the top provides a broad overview of the surroundings. A lot of monkeys live in the caves, which adds to the energetic ambiance.
3. Unwind on the beaches of Langkawi:
The 99-island archipelago of Langkawi is renowned for its gorgeous beaches and crystal-clear waters. One of the busiest beaches is Pantai Cenang, which has powder-soft white sand and a variety of water sports like jet skiing, parasailing, and snorkeling.
